LGBT stands for gay , lesbian , bisexual , transgender. People around the world face violence and inequality and sometimes torture , even execution- because of who they love , how they look and who they are.
Personalities like Menaka Goswami and Arundhati Katiju , Dutee Chand, Manish Arora of India hold their heads high to hold the LGBT tag , and i think that’s beautiful. There are people who fight for dreams , dreams like getting settled in life but then these are few of those people who dreamt of acceptance in the society and the establishment of their own identity. India might be a democratic country , and possess all fundamental rights but something has to come from within. The question now arises is that has India actually acquired it,s dream of establishing “Love is same for all” template among the society ?
Laws and rules won’t work if the individual beings doesn’t change their psychology. Those who accepted it on a big platform in front of the world are already famous personalities. But what about those who are still behind the scenes! Being LGBT is not a fire-able offence.
Still there are people, who themselves haven’t accepted their identity. Someone has said is so correctly,” we fall in love with a person , not a gender.” In this phase of liberalism, why should others decide your uniqueness or your character. We advocate for laws and policies that will protect everyone,s dignity. We work for a world where all the people can enjoy their rights fully.
I have a dream of having freedom, freedom from the norms of the society, freedom of being what i am, freedom of words, freedom of actions, freedom to love, freedom to explore,…. freedom to live as you all do ! I am proud to be a part of the LGBT community. I am a gay and i am not ashamed of it !
“There,s nothing wrong with you. There’s a lot wrong with the world you live in.”
