The city is also named after Niagara and the same is the name with the waterfalls linked with the US by the Rainbow bridge also known as Niagara Waterfalls. The total area equipped by the waterfalls is 209.7 km square. The gross population of Niagara is 88,071 in 2016. This natural spectacle attracts million of tourists every year to this beautiful place. The tourist area apart from the river has several attraction areas including towers, museums, indoor water, Parks, Casinos,theaters and many other places.

Approximately 12,000 years ago, the Niagara Falls started forming at the end of ice age when large torrents of water were released from the melting ice, draining into the Niagara River.
