JUICE-JACKING

Juice jacking is a type of cyber attack involving a charging port that doubles as a data connection, typically over USB. This often involves either installing malware or surreptitiously copying sensitive data from a smartphone, tablet, or other computer devices. We use our phones to do everything these days. From checking in to flights to making purchases, phones have made doing these routine tasks a cakewalk. With such heavy usage, our batteries do take a hit, however. This means that oftentimes, our batteries die before we’re able to charge conveniently at home. This leads people to use publicly available charging stations. These charging stations have the threat of juice jacking. It is advisable to carry a power bank whenever necessary for privacy rather than charging stations at railways/airports e.t.c as infecting the charge stations is very easy for attackers and when people charge their devices there, the data can be stolen through this type of attack.
