SEVEN SISTERS

Northeast India, one of the most beautiful regions of India, is also known as the “Seven Sisters”. It includes Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Tripura states. Northeast is connected to the rest of the country by a narrow stretch of land between Bhutan and Bangladesh, and surrounded by an extremely sensitive frontier with Chinese-occupied Tibet and a 1600 km long border with Myanmar.

Every year thousands of children from these states travel all over the country for higher education and Delhi university in the capital state of the country is one of the favorite spots for it. And this institute also makes sure that they help them settle. One Northeast multi-cultural show is also one of those efforts to help students showcase their talent and cultural diversity. Mask Dance from Meghalaya, Pung Cholom & Basanta Ras Leela from Manipur, Satriya nritya from Assam, Naga Dance from Nagaland, and Bamboo Dance from Mizoram was part of the show.

The population of eastern India [northeast India in our vocabulary] includes a large population of tribal and minority people who speak languages closely related to languages of Southeast Asia rather than to the languages of India proper, and their cultures in many ways resemble the cultures of neighboring Southeast Asian peoples. Just as the southern boundary of China does not make a cultural or linguistic division, the eastern border of India does not mark off a cultural or linguistic area. Eastern India thus is an area where Southeast Asian highlanders come in contact with a highly stratified lowland society based on caste.

The Citizenship Amendment Act protests have been going on in India’s North East, especially in Assam, since 2016. Assam’s civil society, the largest farmers’ organisation, student organisations, pressure groups, teachers, writers, actors, indigenous people’s rights organizations, tribal people’s rights organisations, all have been opposing the Bharatiya Janata Party’s sinister design, along with other states in India’s North East.

Is China's crypto mining ban an opportunity for other countries?

China’s role in crypto world

Let’s begin with basics China Holds most crypto which holds
for about 70% even after several restrictions by the Chinese Government from Not
accepting crypto to stopping mining in 2021. The Chinese legislation over
crypto is also one of the reasons for market crash. But for facts China also
holds largest numbers of miners in the world, China also ended the fundraisers
for the cryptocurrencies.
 As we
know cryptos are an online currency that can be stored in an e-wallet. And this
is not a safe way to make transactions with these currencies for governments.
Because the government has not any control over it. Cryptos are not traceable,
anyone never knows where the transaction has happened and who makes this.

So, the government also unable to trace any crypto transactions. And the
terrorist and illegal workers take this advantage of cryptos. They make illegal
transactions and they never have been traced by the governments. No banks have
controlled these transactions and cryptos are not verified currencies. These
are online untouchable money.

Most of the illegal transactions have happened in China. And government
cannot trace they’re for cryptocurrencies, so China’s president Xi Jinping
totally ban cryptocurrencies and crypto mining from China.

Opportunities for other counties

If we talk about largest countries to hold crypto, your
brain will go on default

USA or Russia but the fun part is it’s Africa, Nigeria to
be precise (32%) of the crypto is hold by Nigeria

But the question arises how these countries are taking
these opportunities?

Whenever this crash occurs countries like these invest
large amount of money in crypto for Nigeria alone $400,000,000 (190 billion naira) worth of cryptocurrency was
traded by Nigerians

After Ban in China Countries like Japan, USA, Nigeria Has
Coined this moment and crypto mining is increasing day by day in these
countries.

Crypto And USA

Currently USA is trying to be no.1 in Crypto market by
accepting bitcoin and dogecoin as mode of payment Tesla you’re hearing me
right, jokes aside USA is trying hard to be next China in terms of crypto
mining by implementing less taxes and legislation over the currencies which is
like piece of cake for the miners and even endorsement of currency like
Dogecoin- you never thought it’ll go this up haven’t you by Beloved Crypto
Crasher Elon Musk, These are the reasons why people are interested in
Crypto In USA and turning out huge profits

Will crypto last long?

No as Countries Like China and India aren’t confident on
cryptocurrencies because of fluctuation in price and inflation countries are
not willing to invest in crypto and the major problem is highly priced hardware
and as global warming is increasing countries are on the go on green energy and
less carbon emission on where crypto mining is totally opposite

Criminalization of Politics

At present we very often come across the words criminalization of politics. The meaning of the term is quite known to educated people and newspaper readers. When politics or political power is used by self-interest-seeking persons for pecuniary gains or various other advantages such as to get a special position in administration or to rise to the higher stage of administration which is normally not feasible. So criminalization of politics means to use politics or political power for nefarious gains. To gain something not legal or normal has been called a crime. Here the word crime is used in politics in a special sense.

India can vaingloriously claim itself as the world’s largest democracy, but can’t hold up to claim to be the greatest democracy of ideal representatives. Because, there is a constant and audacious increase over the years in the number of candidates in the elections, whether for Parliament or the state assemblies with criminal cases against them.

The ADR ( Association for Democratic Reforms) analysis shows that the candidates facing criminal charges had more chances of winning as compared to those with a clean record and this raises the question as to why Indians elect criminal politicians? It is usually said that people vote for criminals out of fear. Indian voters elect criminals due to the benefits of the divine they would receive from them since the politicians would have huge discretionary power over the implementation of policies that enable the distribution of benefits to the public

Criminalization of politics in India includes political control of the police, state money, corruption, weak laws, lack of ethics, values, vote bank politics, and loopholes in the function of the election commission. Having a weak rule of law in India is the main reason that has led to an increase in alternative forms of dispute resolution.

Conclusion

Every country’s fate depends upon its politics. Abraham Lincoln says, “ Democracy is a government of the people, by the people and for the people”. But now, the rule of law can only be found in books. Criminals, powerful people, the machinery have formed such a dangerous cocktail that is now proving to be poisonous for society. Corruption and criminalization of politics are ruining the roots of democracy.

how COVID change my life

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has had a global effect on people’s lifestyles. Many people have become physically inactive and developed irregular eating patterns, which leads to unhealthier lifestyles and aggravation of lifestyle-related diseases; these, in turn, increase the severity of COVID-19.

The outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), which occurred in China in December 2019, was declared a global pandemic by the World Health Organization in March 2020 and has rapidly spread all over the world, including Japan. The first COVID-19 case in Japan was identified on January 15, 2020, and private companies subsequently started to introduce a remote working policy prior to official stay-at-home recommendations issued on February 20. Schools were closed on March 2 and on April 7, a state of emergency was declared, and stay-at-home requests were extended.

Colleges, Universities, and schools are closed with no certainty as to when they will be open. Though there is a need to adopt new changes in the education system. Technology has become a life saver for the students in this time. There are several sets of guidelines and plans issued by the government.

Then started the new form to continue with classes i.e ONLINE platform. No idea when we are sleeping when we are eating when we are getting up when we are playing? We get up in the morning with the link to join the class. This situation is very painful to all the students There is a lot of students who didn’t have the resources for online classed and E-leanings. They are struggling to obtain the gadgets required for online learnings. Listening to lectures online is much more different from how we were copying from the board where the teacher used to write. Frequent disconnection, blurred videos are hardly connected a student from the teacher to the topic they are covering on.

We were not aware of how this situation came up but we have to deal with this together. Updating the infrastructure and thinking about the students who can’t afford the education due to the loss of their parents’ jobs and many other reasons can be helpful. Besides building the digital infrastructure, training has to be given to the teachers to use those infrastructures and to provide authentic and seamless education to the students of India. Successful delivery of education is important because learning from a digital platform is far more different than learning in the classroom.

GST ( GOODS AND SERVICE TAX )

India is notorious for its complex tax system it is almost impossible for new businesses and startups to understand the direct and indirect tax systems, this problem gets even more aggravated when constant changes are made to taxes with each financial year but things change with the new goods and services tax commonly known as GST.

GST is abbreviated as Goods and Service Tax. It is a very good step taken by our government of India to make a developed country. This system is launched by our honorable Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi on 1st July 2017. GST is the one tax system that is really helpful for the people. The main aim of this tax system is really helpful for the people. The main aim of the tax is to reduce black marketing and make it easy for business people to analyze tax.

There are mainly three taxes in GST

Central Good and Service Tax (CGST)
State Goods and Service Tax (SGST)
Integrated Goods and Service Tax (IGST)

GST is divided into two types one is goods and service tax that is abbreviated as SGST and central and service tax which is abbreviated as CGST. Transport of goods comes under integrated goods and service tax which is abbreviated as IGST.

There are four slabs in the GST system. They are 5%, 12%, 18%, 28%. These slabs are divided based on how essential the goods are? Many items of daily need like milk, bread, butter, and health facilities have been exempted from GST. The prices of some items have reduced like coffee, eating in restaurants, confectioneries while prices of some items have increased like cars, air traveling

GST has brought a major change in the indirect taxation system. It is beneficial for consumers, traders, and also the government. Though it has few drawbacks, it should not be the reason to demean a system that has many long-term advantages. In my opinion, GST is a historic move by our government that has brought major changes in our taxation system by implementing one Nation one tax. The GST is obviously not a panacea for all ills of India’s economy. It is nevertheless a revolutionary and long-pending reform. It promises economic growth and jobs, better efficiency and ease of doing business, and higher tax collection. We hope that its imperfections and potential pitfalls will be sorted out as we roll it out.

CYBER SECURITY

Cybersecurity means protecting data, networks, programs, and other information from unauthorized or unattended access, destruction, or change. In this era where the use of computers has become commonplace, cybersecurity is a major concern. The rapid development of technology and the availability of the internet to most of the public, has become commonplace, cybersecurity is a major concern. The rapid development of technology and the availability of the internet to most of the public, has broadened the pathway of cybercrime.

There is a different form of Cyberattacks like viruses, Malware, spyware, phishing, ransomware, fraud, etc. Clicking infected web pages, malicious websites, links or unintentionally downloading a dangerous program also allows hackers to gain illegal access to other computer systems. According to a report, India Steel ranks higher than Global peers as there are 54% Malware and ransomware attracts in India as compared to 47% globally. Yahoo also acknowledges that in India 3 billion accounts were breached in 2013.

Cybersecurity is equally important for local, state, and central governments as these organizations maintain a huge amount of confidential data and records concerning the country and its citizens. Yet several government organizations face difficulty in protecting data because of inadequate secured infrastructure, limited funding, and lack of security awareness. Stealing of confidential data or sensitive information, digital by terrorists from government organizations, as well as digital spying can lead to serious threats on a country. For this reason, cybersecurity is of paramount importance for government organizations also and is a vital asset to the nation

Cybersecurity offers a variety of career paths depending on the level of experience you have and your area of expertise. You can be an analyst/engineer, network administrator, programmer, or data analyst and many more other positions available depending on your area of interest and experience. Some jobs a required while others are possible as long as it relates to your field in the security field such as computer science or finance. If you’re looking for a career that will pay well, then cybersecurity is the right choice for you because it’s relatively new and will only continue to grow.

CHILD LABOUR

We live in an age where many of us are privileged enough to enjoy technology-driven amenities or to acquire education from a proper school, or satisfy our hunger thrice a day. But, there are still some children out in the world who have not even relished a fraction of such comforts. Every coin has two phases as with the innocence of childhood. One is enjoying his burgers in McDonald’s while the other is thinking whether he will get the bread tonight. One is playing with PS at his home while the other is toiling under the sun. One is driving to the school in a brand-new Mercedes while the other is still struggling with counting the marbles. Children are the blooming flowers in the garden of humanity. Childhood is the depiction of innocence, love, and pure bliss. This innocence and childhood must never be stolen from any child.

CAUSES OF CHILD LABOUR:

Lack of social security, hunger, and poverty are the fundamental drivers of child labor. The expanding gap between the rich and poor people, privatization of fundamental organizations, and the neo-liberal monetary strategies are causes of significant areas of the population remaining out of business and without essential needs. This antagonistically influences kids more than some other age groups. A significant concern is that the real number of child workers goes un-distinguished. Laws that are intended to shield youngsters from unsafe work are ineffectual and not executed accurately.

MEASURES TO STOP CHILD LABOUR:

Elimination of poverty, the abolition of child trafficking, and compulsory and free education and training can help diminish the issue of child labor. Strict implementation of work laws is additionally a basic requirement with the end goal to counteract abuse by organizations. Amendments in the present child labor laws are required to actually take control of the situation. The base of the age of fourteen years should be expanded to something like eighteen. Then only we can put an end to the continuous harassment faced by our kids and help them have a bright future not only for themselves for the nation as a whole.

Conclusion:

Child labor is one of the broad social issues that require getting resolved on an urgent basis. This step is incomplete without the support of parents as well as the government. Kids carry a flourishing prospect of any developing nation. Thus, they should be a considerable concern of all the citizens.

Children should get an appropriate chance to grow and develop inside the contented surroundings of school and family. People should not use them for their earnings or for-profit motive. Children have the full right to live their personal life with proper education.

TECHONOLOGY

Young people spend 27 or more hours a week on the Internet (Anderson). As society moves on, technology will keep diffusing and changing drastically; opening more possibilities for newer and undiscovered innovations to take over. Technology can be found anywhere from phones to cars that people drive every day. As technology advances, scientists and doctors have started an altercation between those who believe new tech will teach communities and strengthen our knowledge and others who believe that inventing untested gadgets will only corrupt the nation and affect students at work. Although people view technology as an important tool of the future, technology can be more harmful to society as students become distracted, leading to health concerns, and influencing people to cyberbully. To begin, technology can be used as a productive tool, but sometimes at school, this tool can become a huge distraction.

Advancements in Technology:

From the invention of the wheel to the use of microchips in computers and mobiles, technology has come a long way. Man has reached the moon and explored outer space just because of the advancement in the aeronautics field. Even in primitive occupations such as agriculture, there have been so many technological advancements with modern tools such as traction engines and steam tractor technology which have helped us make progress.

Prominent Examples:

Although there have been countless examples where technology has changed our lives, there are some which are considered revolutions for mankind. The technology used in the field of robotics is one such fine example. Nowadays robots are being used by people and industries all over the world for various purposes. They are also used in places that are otherwise considered harmful for humans thereby protecting us. One such area is the cleaning and managing of radioactive waste.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is another field that is a classic example of the technological advancements man has achieved. Who could have imagined that a machine would be capable of thinking like us? That is what AI has been successful in doing. It is an intelligent machine capable of behaving like us. It can do activities such as problem-solving, planning, learning, and even reasoning. Today AI is used in all major areas such as warfare, security, healthcare, and communication. On top of this, it is far more efficient than us and has a lower rate of error.

Importance of Technology:

Technology has its own importance in our lives. Without technological advancements, our lives would not have been simpler and faster. The modernization that the world is witnessing today has all been possible because of the technological developments in different fields. Moreover, it has helped in reducing the risks people had to undertake in many sectors such as mining. With new tools available, the tasks are less risky and are more efficient as well.

Conclusion:

Technology can be said to be very addictive as a result of its convenience and the easy comfort sources accompanied by the entertainment that it offers. It is however important that one tries to find a balance between nature and technology and not get too much of technology. If one can do this, it is sure that one’s life will change for the better and one would be able to live a life that is happy and free of stress and depression.

Should Plastic be Banned

Plastics are a man-made disaster that will stay with us for thousands of years to come. Also, our life has never been plastic-free. Every aspect of our lives includes plastics in it, whether it’s entertainment, medical, travel, work, or just home. But it won’t be fair if we don’t acknowledge the fact that plastic has also been a boon for economic development in the world. It has been a wonder material for many industries.

A truly wonderful and magical material, plastic was invented in the year 1907 by Leo Hendrick Bakeman in New York, United States of America. This wondrous material was made from phenol and formaldehyde in a cheap and easy method. Ever since this revolutionary invention, the world as we knew it has changed. Plastic replaced many materials in industries. Plastic is so widely used around the world because of its following properties:

  • Plastic is a hard material
  • Plastics are a highly dense material
  • Its tensile strength is high
  • It is resistant to heat and high temperatures
  • It is a non-conductor of electricity and heat
  • It is light in weight
  • The production of plastic is cheap and simple

Reasons to Ban Plastic Bags

There are numerous reasons why the government of various countries has come up with strict measures to limit the use of plastic bags. Some of these include:

  • Waste plastic bags are polluting the land and water immensely.
  • Plastic bags have become a threat to the life of animals living on earth as well as in water.
  • Chemicals released by waste plastic bags enter the soil and make it infertile.
  • Plastic bags are having a negative impact on human health.
  • Plastic bags lead to the drainage problem.

Although plastic is becoming a big threat for all of us, still this problem has often been overlooked and underestimated. This is because people do not look at the long-term effect of these small, easy to carry bags they use in their everyday life. Besides all of these people keep using bags due to their convenience. But now everyone has to completely stop using the plastic bag to save our environment and earth.

TERRORISM

We have defined terrorism here as “acts of
violence intentionally perpetrated on civilian non-combatants with the goal of
furthering some ideological, religious or political objective.” Our principal
focus is on non-state actors. Our task was to identify and analyse the
scientific and professional social science literature pertaining to the
psychological and/or behavioural dimensions of terrorist behaviour (not on
victimization or effects). Our objectives were to explore what questions
pertaining to terrorist groups and behaviour had been asked by social science
researchers; to identify the main findings from that research; and attempt to
di still and summarize them within a framework of operationally relevant
questions.

 An
international panel of leading experts on terrorism met in Oslo to discuss root
causes of terrorism. The main purpose was to provide inputs from the research
community to a high-level conference on “Fighting Terrorism for Humanity” to be
held in New York on 22 September 2003. The findings described below are
conclusions drawn by the chairman on the basis of presentations and
discussions. -A main accomplishment of the expert panel was to invalidate
several widely held ideas about what causes terrorism. There was broad
agreement that there is only a weak and indirect relationship between poverty
and terrorism. At the individual level, terrorists are generally not drawn from
the poorest segments of their societies. Typically, they are at average or
over-average levels in terms of education and socio-economic background. Poor
people are more likely to take part in simpler forms of political violence than
terrorism, such as riots. The level of terrorism is not particularly high in
the poorest countries of the world.
State sponsorship is not a root cause
of terrorism. Used as an instrument in their foreign policies, some states have
capitalized on pre-existing terrorist groups rather than creating them.
Terrorist groups have often been the initiators of these relationships, at
times courting several potential state sponsors in order to enhance their own
independence. State sponsorship is clearly an enabling factor of terrorism,
giving terrorist groups a far greater capacity and lethality than they would
have had on their own.
Definitions of terrorism are usually complex
and controversial, and, because of the inherent ferocity and violence of
terrorism, the term in its popular usage has developed an intense stigma. It
was first coined in the 1790s to refer to the terror used during the French
Revolution by the revolutionaries against their opponents. The
Jacobin party of Maximilien
Robespierre carried out a
Reign
of Terror
 involving mass
executions by the guillotine
.
Although terrorism in this usage implies an act
of violence by a state against its domestic enemies, since the 20th century the
term has been applied most frequently to violence aimed, either directly or
indirectly, at governments in an effort to influence policy or topple an
existing regime.
Terrorism involves the use or threat of violence and seeks to
create fear, not just within the direct victims but among a wide audience.

Review Of Literature on Personality and Workplace Deviance

Workplace Deviant Behavior is
outlined as acts that hurt the organization further as well as employees
operating in it. The foremost well researched work deviant behavior examples
would be absence from work, theft,  sabotage, drug usage, explicit acts of
aggression etc.

According to Robinson and
Bennett (1995), workplace deviant behaviors are voluntary behaviors of
employees that violate company norms, policies, or rules which have a negative
impact on both the well-being of both the organization as well as its members.
Once directed towards individual staff, it’s within the kind of creating fun of
others, enjoying mean pranks, acting impolitely, engaging in conflicts etc.

Studies have known that factors
like job stressors, organizational frustration, lack of management over the
work atmosphere, weak sanctions for rule violations etc are the causes of work
place deviance.

Studies
have conjointly shown that socialization and impulsivity constructs are also
responsible for work deviant behaviors. Employees with high asocial
temperament show less social maturity, integrity, and morality and
are typically perceived as rebellious, unhappy, and defensive. Employees with
this temperament tend to resist rules and laws. (Gough and Peterson, 1952)

Employees high in socialization
on the opposite hand are kind, dependable, well-balanced, patient etc. Analysis
of Collins and Griffin (1998), conjointly found a relationship between
socialization with thievery and disciplinary issues.

Impulsivity, on the opposite
hand, is that the tendency to act with very little forethought on the
implications of one’s actions. Employees who are high on impulsivity are
characterized as rash, reckless, incautious etc. Impulsive people/employees
also act on the spur of the moment and freely express their emotions.

Employee’s whose evaluations
are lower on measures of impulsivity are thought to be non-indulgent and are
able to manage their emotions (Megargee, 1972). Gottfredson and Hirschi (1993)
have concerned impulsivity with deviant behaviors like drug use, theft, work
violence, and employment instability.

For the aim of hiring, several
organizations have spent several resources in its plan to ascertain work place
deviance. The deviant behaviors at work place are possible to be subjected to
employee’s temperament (personality) traits rather than ability-related factors
as employees make conscious choices regarding whether they wish to or not wish
to indulge in deviant behaviors.

The
Five Factor Model (FFM) is the most widely known and used model in industrial
psychology as an empirically supported personality measure. The dimensions of
factors of personality consist of:

1. Agreeableness may be
categorized as a personality where people are compassionate. They like to
cooperate together. They don’t prefer to be suspicious and don’t like to
produce hostility with each other. This trait is more indicative of individual
differences in their concern for creating social harmonization. Such types of
people are nice, easy-going with others, caring, friendly, optimistic,
generous, etc. (Rothmann and Coetzer, 2013).

2. Extraversion is
characterized as a personality where people exhibit positive emotions. People
who are high on their social skills tend to be assured, dominant, active, happy
and really interactive.

3. Conscientiousness is
characterized as a personality where people exhibit self-discipline, obedience,
and who aim to achieve higher than expectations. This trait emphasizes action
that is always planned rather than spontaneous action.

4. Neuroticism is
characterized as a personality which is related to people’s emotional
stability. The person having high neuroticism exhibits negative emotions such as
irritability, easily anxiety etc.

5. Openness to experience is
characterized as a personality where people are artistic, creative, and
imaginative and take interests in new things as a result of their curiosity.

Layth
et al (2016) solely found traits of agreeableness and conscientiousness as
those traits which don’t have any significant negative impact on
counterproductive behavior. An online survey at a project management practice
firm in Singapore was conducted by Santos and Eger (2014). They found
extraversion to be the legitimate factor for forecasting interpersonal and
organizational deviance and not agreeableness and conscientiousness. One can
observe that there is an inconsistency of predictors to workplace.

Layth and Zulkarnain (2016)
found that emotional stability (opposite of neuroticism) had an inverse
relationship to work place deviance and has positive and significant effects on
counterproductive work behavior.

As outlined by Salovey and
Mayer (1990), Emotional Intelligence is a subset of social intelligence that
involves the ability to observe one’s own and others’ feelings and emotions, to
differentiate among them and then using this data to know, introspect and guide
one’s own thoughts and actions. Thus, emotional intelligence (EI) is the ability
to perceive, control and evaluate emotions.

Emotional intelligence allows
people to develop a construct referred to as “learned optimism”, the causative
attributions people create once they are confronted with failure or setbacks.
Another facet of emotional intelligence is that it allows people to manage
feelings and handle stress.

Barsade and Gibson (1998) claim
that managers having the ability to infect a work group with their good and
smart emotions and feelings can lead to improved cooperation, fairness, and
overall group performance. Empathy is additionally a very important facet of
emotional intelligence. Researchers have familiarity for years that it
contributes to occupational and organizational success.

Through
training sessions, employees can be taught and trained to use such techniques
and methods that can help to strengthen their social skills, build
assertiveness etc, which could help them achieved more adaptive behavior which
would further reduce their deviant behaviors at workplace and enable the
employees to excel on the professional front.
