THE ART OF CONVERSATION

There is one art of humans that distinguishes us from animals, and that is the art of conversation. A speech is a monologue, whereas conversation is a dialogue. It implies warmth, politeness, frankness, equality and several other quality virtues. The art of conversation is something which not everybody possesses. Few people can engage us in an enjoyable and cherishing conversation and in that both the mind and heart are involved. People who have mastered the art or who are very good in it influence people; they make friends quickly; find it convenient to talk anywhere and everywhere; put across their ideas rapidly and can do much of everything.

The primary step to learn it is to have faith in oneself and develop confidence. There are simple things in life that all of us can do- read books, works of people and then acquire knowledge. We can exchange our ideas with people we feel comfortable with and gain insights from them on the subject matter. These are the basics, and it is fun to be a part of a warm, relevant and meaningful talk. It is also fun to be in amusing talks provided it is a conversation.

We can always converse with people around us on anything. Be it the food we eat, things that we do, our issues, success, things around us. Any topic that we choose for our self is good enough to help us progress in this art. We never truly know the impact of what we did, and we understand it once it gets reflected through our performance. With this art, many people conquer hearts, but with it, we confront an inherent challenge of association. It means that we must understand that knowledge is not equal to wisdom, and not everybody is willing to accept our knowledge and wisdom. So, we must decide a goal for us and use this art to progress in life. We must also be conscious of our surroundings, the people that fall in our reach; they may get hurt or may not like it. When we use our knowledge with the art of conversation, we leave this challenge behind and create a progressive personality. We must acknowledge that a good conversation is not about leaving a long-lasting impression but just to put across our ideas and thoughts effectively. A good name, impression, laurels, accolades, achievements, successes come as a result of it, but the important thing to be always kept in mind is, we do it to create a good time- a memorable time.
