The US may impose ban on TikTok along with other Chinese apps after India.

Mike Pompeo, the U.S. Secretary of State, has said that the country is contemplating to ban Chinese apps which include the majorly popular app, TikTok. Having said that, he also has mentioned how TikTok has caused security breaches by sharing information with the Chinese government. The app has experienced massive growth all over the world and now this statement by the Secretary of State could cause a major blow to the app.

On being asked a question which was on the lines of recommending users to download TikTok, Mike Pompeo replied saying, ‘ Only if you want your private information in the hands of the Chinese Communist Party. ‘

This is definitely not the first time the TikTok has received a backlash on how this particular app is responsible for relaying information of a particular country back to China, India too has made the same allegations recently.

The ban may be seen in coming week after India had raised questions against The Chinese apps for sharing information with other servers located outside India. This can be huge blow to TikTok company after its ban in India. Now, U.S. lawmakers are also of the same opinion that the app definitely has some serious security concerns that should not be overlooked at any cost. Chinese laws also need domestic companies ‘to support and cooperate with intelligence work controlled by the Chinese Communist Party.’ The U.S government has now made it very clear that the citizens of the country should be wary of the app.

The Chinese based app, which is owned by ByteDance, was asked to clarify the statements that stated the security concerns, to which it had completely denied the same. ‘We have no higher priority than promoting a safe and secure app experience for our users. We have never provided user data to the Chinese government, nor would we do so if asked,’ TikTok has mentioned in the email it has sent.

It has now created a safe distance from its Chinese roots hoping to calm the global uproar it has created. In the case of the U.S., it is still unclear if the sole reason behind the thought of banning this app is purely based on security concerns.

E-commerce sites to display country of origin on products to promote made in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat.

New Delhi: The government had taken yet another big step after ban on 59 Chinese apps to make it compulsory for E-commerce sites to display ‘country of origin’ tag so that users can identify Indian products and help make Atmanirbhar Bharat a success. The online shopping sites have agreed with government to display’country of origin’ and are cooperating with government.

The Government e-Marketplace (GeM) portal, which is used by government departments for public procurement, on Tuesday made it mandatory for sellers to enter the “country of origin” while registering all new products.

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) asked e-commerce players including Amazon and Flipkart to display mention ”country of origin” on each product sold at their platforms.

While GeM says it has taken this step to promote ‘Make in India’ and ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ (Self-reliant India), the move also comes days after a deadly border clash between Indian and Chinese soldiers. Sub-standard and cheap Chinese products often make their way into the Indian market, more so through online platforms. The government has ramped up efforts to curb the inflows of such low-grade imports and their consumption here.

The government has taken such steps to reduce dominance of Chinese products in Indian market and make India self-reliant country. We must support the efforts of government and use as much as possible made in India products.

Move against Chinese apps is welcome!

The administration has moved shrewdly to square 59 applications claimed or supported by the Chinese – including famous ones, for example, TikTok with in excess of 120 million dynamic Indian clients. It’s not only a proportion of reprisal for Chinese interruptions over the LAC and slaughtering of Indian officers – it’s additionally basic for security reasons. Stealthy information pilferage is a genuine worry with Chinese stages; China has little respect for licensed innovation or protection guidelines. Given that Chinese organizations fundamentally need to work with the Chinese government, the last can utilize these stages to mount digital assaults against India, or acquire granular level knowledge on singular Indians, when the two nations are going head to head along the LAC.

In contrast to 1962, this time the challenge with China is a multidimensional one. China will utilize its immense monetary, innovative and conciliatory clout to hector India and subordinate it to Chinese interests. Moreover, we also ought to be set up to utilize non-direct choices against China and hit them where it harms. This is the reason we must be savvy about managing Chinese imports. While closing off fundamental supplies, for example, dynamic pharmaceutical fixings and other basic contributions for Indian industry is senseless, focusing on Chinese web stages shuts a security escape clause and use India’s colossal market potential to squeeze China.

This is on the grounds that for a considerable lot of these Chinese stages, India is their biggest development showcase outside of China. Also, forbidding them doesn’t have that quite a bit of an effect on Indian industry. Without a doubt, Indian clients of these Chinese stages will be troubled. Yet, this is additionally a chance to create Indian options utilizing our qualities in IT. Nor would we be able to be exposed targets for Chinese digital assaults like the one that hit Australia as of late, devastating sites identifying with government and fundamental administrations.

Valid, there is likewise the issue of Chinese speculations, remembering for Indian new businesses. Truth be told, a political slugfest has broken out among BJP and Congress over Chinese gifts to the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation and PM Cares finance. This would be a decent an ideal opportunity to audit the whole range of Chinese interests in India and get rid of the lawful escape clause at present allowing remote gifts to ideological groups. The exact opposite thing we need is Indian governmental issues being affected by Chinese cash. Taken together, we have to get ready on different measurements to handle the China danger shrewdly and comprehensively .

“India Boycotting Chinese Products -Easy”?

India boycotting Chinese products has been trending these days . And it has been observed that civilians are reacting to the recent act which happened on the Indo-China border. The loss of our 20 brave soldiers is hitting the minds of people across the country. Defence and our political leaders are finding the best way out to fight these back. But current happenings arise, the big question which needs to be addressed which is to continue trade with them. Losing lives of our country men and still continuing trade with the same country is a shame for us as a response to  those brave souls. Common man is filled with anger and in the steps to take revenge and show their aggression, they have decided to boycott these products and their import.

But “How difficult and how bad it could be for us to stop trade with these Chinese companies right away”. The major area to focus before discussing the Chinese products and their usage in India would be the export and import of products in and by India. The import percentage is almost double the amount of export we generally do.This surely defies our dependencies not only on China but also on other countries for more of our products. India lacks in their productivity growth which means the lack of raw material for manufacturing any product. Thus India is dependent on other countries for even the raw material. India along with that does not have better skilled labour due to lack of literacy around the country. This leads to rise of manufacturing cost of products and surely rise in their sale cost also. Which countries like China, have a plus point with. They have highly skilled labour, and due to high populations , work is a priority so they hire these skilled people at much lower cost and thus earn better profits than other international companies.

Comparing China and also enlisting India’s dependency on it. India is dependent on china for most of its products and  components which include:

  1. Automotive parts
  2. Electronic material and parts
  3. Pharmaceutical ingredients
  4. Consumer durables
  5. And many more raw materials.

These components and their share is hide in importing from other countries and especially china for cost effectiveness. Along with that all the countries are shifting towards sustainable forms of energy and one of the forms is solar energy, but the interesting fact is that most of the components in it are made in China.

India technology as compared to China lacked in the time-period along the years as they invested most of their resources in creating resources which India focused on just importing and buying them. Many schemes like Make in India and a recent Atma Nirbhar bharat as launched by Prime minister of India Mr. Narendra Modi, which purely focuses on developing their product and manufacturing most of them india.  The main area we lack is raw material, India to manufacture products has to import most if raw material from other countries especially china. So India should try to shift to some other source for their raw material and on coming years must focus on there technology and production of these raw material and ingredients in our country only.

It’s hard to believe and accept but yes India is dependent on china for most of its product and boycotting them and this stage could result in high lack of these resources especially in pharmaceutical industry, as many medicine especially paracetamol and ingredients used in it comes from china, so boycotting chinese product and its use could be harmful especially in today’s era if pandemic.

“India should surely learn from this and focus and initiate more towards encouraging people to come up with their ideas of startup which include manufacturing and production of products within the country only, relying less on foreign imports rather focused on foreign exports in near future. India can develop its own market of products and raw material by focusing more on the inputs available in the country itself, and surely in future, India would see a hike with its products being exported all over the world, leaving with us a higher economy and growth capacity and independence from major exports from other countries”.

India-China Relation and The World

In the recent skirmish on the China-India border, both sides have suffered heavy losses. It has confirmed from the official statement from India that 20 soldiers have martyred and no official data has come from China yet Editor-in-chief of the Chinese government’s news magazine Global Times believes that the Chinese military also suffered casualties. It has been the old attitude of China that whenever there is more loss on its side, it does not share the correct information. We had seen this attitude in the case of Corona also. Although China tries to hide the exact and actual data, somehow it comes out from somewhere.

This incident of the violent skirmish between India and China is extraordinary because such an accident has occurred on the Chinese border the first time after 45 years. Colonel Santosh Babu, who martyred, was leading the Indian contingent during this astonishing incident. According to military sources, this violent skirmish in the Galvan valley started on Monday night due to the changing attitude of Chinese soldiers. The Chinese troops intended to capture L.A.C. through the Galvan valley. But Indian soldiers thwarted the Chinese plan.

The way China has done stabbing behind the back, it proves that China is the most dangerous and vicious enemy for India. All these activities proved that trusting China even more than a century can prove to be the biggest threat for India. In the coming times, there will be unexpected changes in the relationship between India and China. But one thing is clear that a dispute arises on three different boundaries simultaneously, it is a sign of spacious threat. Relations with Pakistan and China are always intense. But Nepal is a neighbouring country whose relationship was not disturbed till date, but by presenting a new map and passed an amendment in the lower house of their Parliament and claiming a small part of India near to the area of Kalapani is the part of Nepal. It is an unfortunate situation for us. Experts of international relations believe that all these concern are interlinked. Chinese Diplomacy transforms from peace to aggression. Their diplomatic policy has changed. If we compare China of the 21st century to the China of the 20th century, we will find an enormous gap between the low profile china diplomacy and leadership china diplomacy. They want all control over the world. China is trying to compete with the United States of America. But the Chinese do not know that they are not like USSR. They could not take the place of the United States of America.

China is a country whose reality was known to the whole world that they do anything to increase its dominance and borders. The way China told the world about the Corona Virus was too late. They hide ambiguous numbers of infected and dead people, revised several bills against it to suppress the violence in Hong Kong and increasing military activities in the South China Sea proves how China is creating an atmosphere of unrest around itself.
