JEE mains 4 attempt postponed

In order provide the gap between JEE mains 3 and JEE mains 4 , NTA has announced to postponed the JEE mains 4 ( may session) .Now Jee mains 4 will be conducted on August 26,27 ,31 , September 1 and 2 ,2021.

The Hon’ble education minister Pradhan says “In view of the persistent demand from the student community and to enable the candidates to maximize their performance, the NTA has been advised to provide a gap of four weeks between session 3 and session 4 of the JEE(Main) 2021 Exam.”

Now the application will be accepted till 20th july 2021.Students whose who have not applied at can do so before 20th july 2021.

The NTA releases official notice stating “With a view to remove hardships caused to candidates and to ensure larger participation of candidates, it has been decided to extend the last date further for: submission of online application form by new candidates and withdrawal/ correction by the existing/ interested candidates for the exam,”

Jee mains 2021 exam date announced; Registration process begins for April/may session.

The most crucial engineering and medical entrance exams JEE Main and NEET UG have also been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.The February and March sessions of engineering entrance exam JEE Main 2021 were held while the April and May exams were postponed.

Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal has announced the exam schedule for JEE Main (April / May) sessions 2021 today. The minister made the announcement through a live session. The third session of JEE Main 2021 (April session) will be conducted from July 20-25. The fourth and last session of JEE Main 2021 (May session) will be conducted from July 27-August 2.Candidates can apply at jeemain.nta.nic.in. Those who wish to apply for the April session will be able to apply from tonight to July 8. JEE Main (May) session registrations will be open from July 9-12. Candidates will also be able to change their exam centres. Even to ensure social distancing amid the pandemic, the NTA has also increased the number of test centres for JEE Main (April and May) sessions. Earlier, the total number of test centres was 660. The test centres have now been increased to 828.

What about jee advanced date announcement?

In this context, one thing has to be noted that the JEE Advanced 2021 Exam which was scheduled to take place July 3, 2021, also had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 situation in the country. However, recently, on June 25, 2021, IIT Kharagpur, the organising institute for JEE Advanced 2021 Exam has released the information brochure and list of documents that will be required for JEE Advanced 2021 Exam on the official website of JEE Advanced at jeeadv.ac.in. On the website, it is also mentioned that a new date for JEE Advanced 2021 Exam will be announced soon.

NEET JEE 2020: PLEA TO RE-EXAMS FOR STUDENTS WHO MISSED

The plea has sought the apex court to direct the National Testing Agency (NTA) to issue a further date when the students, who missed the examinations, can appear.

Shashwat Anand, a lawyer, has asked the Supreme Court to take suo moto cognizance of the report of a student who could not give the examination as he was late by 10 minutes.

Santosh Kumar Yadav, a resident of Bihar’s Darbhanga, missed the NEET as he was 10 minutes late in reaching the examination centre in Kolkata’s Salt Lake area last Sunday.

It may be noted that for many students, 2020 was also the last year to attempt for the JEE Main or NEET 2020 examination. The plea seeks recourse for students who have been impacted. JEE Main 2020 was conducted from September 1 to September 6 and the result of the same has also been released. Meanwhile, NEET 2020 was conducted on September 13. Results are awaited for the undergraduate medical/ dental entrance examination

The plea urges the SC to direct NTA to conduct re-exams. It also seeks the various state governments to arrange for the transportation facilities for the students who would be appearing in these exams conducted by NTA this time. 

As per the plea, it has been asked, “ Issue a writ, order or direction, in the exercise of its inherent and plenary powers under Article 142 issuing/ laying down guidelines or directions for the students who miss out on exams like NEET, IIT, JEE etc owing to some of the other sufficient cause, to allow and facilitate the same to appear in such exams on further dates as may be notified by the respondents, inter alia, providing accommodations, food and water, transportation etc.”

Various states, ruled by the opposition parties, had earlier requested the central government to postpone the JEE Main and

NEET considering the grim Covid-19 situation in the country.

Several states of the country had also moved the top court seeking a reconsideration of its own order, which had allowed the holding of the twin examinations.

Citing the top court order, the central government had clearly stated it was in no mood to postpone the examinations. 

Insights –2nd day of JEE MAIN 2020 with Paper analysis.

Irrespective to student’s opinion, Govt. managed to organise the JEE Main Exams for nearly 8 lakhs of students from 1st of September to 6th of September. On the first day of exams i.e. 1st September, there were many speculations and doubts on the conduction of exams. However, there was no big news of any kind of unwanted and bad news across the country. Same was the situation in 2nd day. There was no such news of unpleasant incident around the whole country and exam went smooth, we can say although it faced many other issues. There was the news of students getting late across the country.

In a major announcement today, just half-an-hour before the exam began, the Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court said that the students residing in flood-affected areas in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra can approach the National Testing Agency (NTA), if they were unable to reach the exam centre or reached late. The court also asked NTA to check the veracity of the claims and decide their representation within 15 days.

The JEE paper 2 was held yesterday and today onwards, the engineering exam will be conducted. JEE Main morning shift timing is 9 am to 12 noon. NTA conducted 1st shift exam with all security measures and students maintained social distancing. But still, some centres were failed to maintain social distancing and students shared photos and videos on twitter for the same. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the exam is being conducted amid special arrangement, from no shoes with thick soles to mandatory masks at exam hall – several arrangements have been made by the NTA. Over 10 lakh masks, 10 lakh pairs of gloves, 1,300 infrared thermometer guns, 6,600 litres of hand sanitiser and an equal amount of disinfectant liquid, 6,600 sponges, 3,300 spray bottles and 3,300 cleaning staff have been arranged at an additional cost of almost Rs 13 crore.

JEE Main 2020 for B.Tech/ B.E shift 2 has been concluded at 6 pm across 660 centres. Students are coming out of exam centres. The exam will be conducted at 660 centres across the country, which was increased from 570.

Analysis

On the analysis of the paper of JEE Main 2020, Exams pattern was observed like following. Paper was on the decent hard level. As per students, student’s reaction was not quite good. The stress of paper and fear of being corona positive while visiting the centre was peeping out from their faces.

-The overall level of the exam was Easy to Moderate. 

-Most of the Students were able to attempt 13-14 questions easily.

-however, physics section was a little difficult.

-Maths was moderate but they were quite time consuming.

-Chemistry was the easiest part in all three subjects.

-A lot of questions were based on NCERT & Applications (60-70%).

-Distribution of all questions were uniformly asked from whole syllabus in each of the subjects.

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will start counselling for admission to IIITs, NITs, and GFTIs soon after the declaration of the JEE Main result. The registration for JoSSA counselling, according to the JEE Advanced brochure, will begin tentatively on October 6.

Candidates, who qualify in JEE Advanced 2020 and seek admission to BArch programme in IITs, will be required to sit for the Architecture Aptitude Test, or JEE Advanced AAT 2020.

RAILWAYS to run special trains for JEE, NEET AND NDA candidates in Bihar

The Indian Railways has decided to run 20 pairs of special trains from September 2 to 15 for the convenience of the candidates appearing for JEE, NEET and NDA exams in Bihar, A day after the Railways permitted NEET and JEE candidates to avail special suburban services in Mumbai on exam days.

Announcing the move, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal said the facility will also be extended to students appearing for the National Defence Academy  (NDA) exam.

“Indian Railways has decided to run 20 pairs of MEMU / DEMU special trains from September 2 to 15 for the convenience of candidates joining JEE Mains, NEET and NDA in Bihar,” Goyal said in a tweet.

The East Central Railway said in a press release that, the station enroute will have unreserved ticket counters and tickets can also be bought on the UTS ( unreserved ticketing system ) mobile ticketing app.

On Monday, Goyal had said the students and one guardian each will be allowed to travel on the exam days and the admit card will act as their letter of authority.

Around 8.58 lakh candidates have registered for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)-Main and 15.97 lakh students for NEET. These exams were earlier postponed twice in this pandemic.

While the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is scheduled to be held on September 13, engineering entrance exam JEE-Main has been planned from September 1-6. The common NDA 2020 exam is scheduled to be held on September 6.

The Railways has suspended the passenger, mail and express train services from March 25 amid the nationwide lockdown to combat the spread of Covid-19 pandemic.

The national transporter has started to run Shramik Special trains from May 1 to transport the stranded migrant workers, pilgrims, tourists and students.

The railways also started to operate 15 pairs of special air conditioned trains from May 12 and 100 pairs of Special time tabled trains from June 1.

Education minister wishes goodluck to students appearing for JEE MAINS today

Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ on August 31 via Twitter wished good luck to students preparing for JEE examinations which are going to commence from September 01.

“I wish best of luck to all students who are going to appear for the JEE tomorrow. I am also glad that over 7,77,465 have downloaded their admit cards. I have spoken to the CMs of most states to ensure that students don’t face problems,” Ramesh Pokhriyal said in a tweet.

“I have spoken and appealed to the Chief Ministers of most states to help students in their states and I am sure that the SOPs issued by the Health, Education and Home Ministries will be followed,” Mr Pokhriyal said in a video he tweeted last night. He also added “JEE and NEET had to be postponed several times due to the coronavirus pandemic. JEE and NEET exams are being held to ensure that students don’t lost a year. I am happy that nearly all students have downloaded their admit cards and there is enthusiasm among students.”

Meanwhile, Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal has said that the Indian Railways has allowed students and their guardians to travel by special suburban services in Mumbai on exam days.

“Supporting students appearing for NEET and JEE exams, Railways has permitted them, and their guardians to travel by special suburban services in Mumbai on exam days. General passengers are requested not to commute,” Goyal said.

Following steps will be taken at all exam centers so as to not put a students life in danger:

1) As per the COVID guidelines, the seating area will be sanitised before each shift starts. And the gap between 2 seats will be maintained.

2) The NTA has already said that the hand sanitisers will be available at entry points for candidates and centre staff.

3) For social distance, students need to maintain a space of at least 6 feet from each other at all the time.

4) Candidate will be offered a fresh 3 Ply mask before their entry into the exam hall.

Guidelines that Candidates need to follow:

1) Students need to reach the exam centres at least 30 minutes before the reporting time.

2) Students need to carry all the important documents to the exam hall. They also need to make sure that they carry JEE Main 2020 hall ticket.

3) And lastly to stay calm and confidently write the examinations.

The National Testing Agency (NTA)has scheduled JEE Main to be held from September 1 to 6 while NEET to be held on September 13. The JEE Advanced on September 27. These exams were postponed twice this year due to the coronavirus pandemic. 

NEET, JEE MAINS 2020 exams, parents file petition in SC to ensure no further delay

A group of students and parents have filed a counter plea in the Supreme Court asking it to direct the National Testing Agency to conduct NEET and JEE Main 2020 exams in September as scheduled. This comes on the heels of the plea filed by 11 students asking for the postponement of the exam in the wake of rising COVID cases in the country.

The plea points out that several tests have already been conducted by NTA and other bodies across the country countering the contentions on pandemic created difficulties. It also points out that NTA had given the opportunity to all students to change their exam centres or cities to the ones most convenient to them in view of the COVID situation.

“These exams are so important that they determine students’ career and also the entire life. As such, the Respondent Authorities must take into consideration as a relevant factor the fact that any further deferment of the examination will further add to the stress levels of the students resulting in further traumatising the students with the uncertainty of their future and thereby severely impacting their academic performance in the ultimate examination to be held in future”, reads the plea as reported by Bar and Bench.

The plea further says, “There is an eminent need for the NTA to adhere to the 2nd revised schedule and conduct the all India basis NEET UG-2020 and the JEE (Main) for UG-2020 as it is a settled position that the admission process is time bound and the entire admission schedule is a time regulated process mandated by the judgments of the Hon’ble Apex Court.”

Another fact pointed out by the petition is that students have rigorously been preparing for the NEET 2020 and JEE exams for the past 3 years from the time they were in Class 10. Non-conduct would mean the loss of an academic year and the adverse impact of the same on students appearing for the exam this year.

The petition also brings to notice the University Grants Commission’s (UGC) ‘Revised Guidelines on Examinations and Academic Calendar for the Universities in view of COVID-19 Pandemic’ dated July 6, whereby all universities are mandated to complete the final year examinations by the end of September 2020.

“JEE-MAINS”- The first step to a new beginning

JEE-MAINS stands for JOINT ENTRANCE TEST-MAINS which was earlier called as All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE). This is an undergraduate entrance test for taking admissions in various engineering and architecture institutes, mainly in 31 National Institutes of Technology (NITs), 23 Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IITs), and Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs). This test is organized every year by National Teaching Agency (NTA) in India. This test was introduced in the year 2002.


STRUCTURE OF THE EXAM –
Until 2018, it was held only once after the CBSE exams, nearly in first week of April by the NTA since 2019 has decided to take this entrance test twice a year. Earlier, it held either electronically or online but now it happens only in the online mode.
It is a computer based entrance exam which consists of 2 papers:

  1. Paper 1 is for B.E. / B.Tech courses which only occurs in online mode from 2019, earlier there was an option of OMR based exam also. The qualification required for this paper is Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as main subjects in class 12th.
  2. Paper 2 is for BArch and BPlanning courses. The knowledge of Mathematics, Aptitude, Drawing and Planning is required for being a part of this paper.
    The duration of the exam is 3 hours and candidates can apply for 3 subsequent years. LANGUAGE OF THE ENTANCE TEST –
    The exam was offered in English, Hindi and Gujarati. From January 2021, It has been planned to take the exam in eleven different languages namely Assamese, Bengali, English, Hindi, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Odiya, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu.
    MODE OF EXAMINATION –
    • B.E. /B. Tech. (Paper 1) Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, part 1, 2 and 3 respectively will be conducted in Computer Based Test mode only.
    • B. Arch (Paper 2) Mathematics and Aptitude Test, part 1 and 2 respectively will be held in Computer Based Test mode only. While Drawing Test or part 3 will be in offline mode on drawing sheet.
    • B. Planning (Paper 3) Mathematics, Aptitude Test and Planning Based Questions, part 1, 2 and 3 respectively will be held in Computer Based Test mode only.

PARTICIPATING INSTITUTES –
Institutes participating in the 2017 centralized seat allocation process included:
• The 31 National Institutes of Technology,
• The 24 Indian Institutes of Information Technology,
• 19 other central government or state government funded institutions including the three Schools of Planning and Architecture.
• Several self-financed institutes (during the spot round).
• Many other institutes used JEE (Main) ranks to fill seats through their own seat allocation processes.

NUMBER OF APPLICANTS

There are lakhs of students who appear in the entrance exam every year. The number of applicants has varied over the years, with the peak of over 1.35 millions in 2014.

  1. Starting from 2012, there were 1,220,000 students who appeared in the exam.
  2. In the year 2013, 1,282,000 students appeared.
  3. In 2014, 1,356,805 students appeared.
  4. In 2015, 1,304,495 students appeared.
  5. In 2016, 1,194,938 students appeared.
  6. In 2017, 1,186,454 students appeared.
  7. In 2018, 1,259,000 students appeared.
  8. From 2019, exam was conducted in two different phases. So, in 2019 in the first phase 929,198 students gave the exam while in second phase 935,741 students appreared for the exam.
  9. In 2020, in the first phase of the exam 921,261 students appeared whereas the second phase is still to be held.
