Annular Solar Eclipse

When the moon comes in between the earth and the sun and the sunlight is obstructed, it is known as Solar eclipse. But when the moon covers the sun partially or starting from the center and leaving its rim it appears like a ring which is called as Ring of fire and is known as annular solar eclipse.

June 21st, 2020 is the longest day of the year in the northern hemisphere. The first annular solar eclipse of the year is going to occur on June 21st. It will begin from 11:49 and last till 11:50. The path of annular solar eclipse will start from Gharsana , Rajasthan. however it will last for less than one minute.

It will peak between 11:40 am to 12:10 pm. The eclipse will pass India around 3:04 pm.

The Ring of fire can be observed from places like Suratgarh and Anupgarh in Rajasthan, Sirsa, Ratia and Kurukshetra in Haryana, and Dehradun, Chamba, Chamoli and Joshimath in Uttarakhand.  a partial solar eclipse of a different magnitude can be observed in places including Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Hyderabad and New Delhi.

Annular Solar Eclipse and Corona VIrus

It has been a popular question on google search recently that will the annular solar eclipse might be the end of corona virus? Back in 1986 when scientists came up with the term “corona virus”, under a microscope as they observed the corona virus they saw that the virus they were looking at resembled solar corona which is a bright crown-like ring of gasses surrounding the sun that is visible during a solar eclipse.

The June 21st annular solar eclipse is said to be the deepest eclipse in nearly a hundred years.

Dr. KL Sundar Krishna, a Nuclear and Earth scientist told ANI that the pandemic may have been a result of mutated particle interaction of the first neutron emitted after the solar eclipse owing to fission energy. He said that there is a “planetary configuration with new alignment in the solar system” which occurred after the solar eclipse. And that is even the coronavirus outbreak happened, according to Krishna.

Krishna has even deduced a possible theory of how the virus originated. He told ANI that the virus has come from the upper atmosphere where “inter-planetary force variation” took place. The said neutrons then began nucleating which further resulted in bio-nuclear interactions in the upper atmosphere. This bio-nuclear interaction, according to him, may be a source of the virus.

During the early outbreak of corona virus it was said that a hot weather could kill corona virus. However, it was disproved by WHO. While the solar corona would kill corona virus as it is hotter than the sun. But the only way for it to happen is if the solar corona came in contact with the corona virus – which they won’t, since the sun is over 152.02 million kilometers away.

So the answer to that question is No, the Annular Solar Eclipse won’t affect the Corona Virus.
