What is world population day? World population day is an annual event which is celebrated on 11 July every year. The main motive of this event is to create an awareness about the increasing population, gender equality, among the people. This day is inspired by the 11 July of 1987 when the world population reached the 5 billion. And look how much the population has increased since then!

July 11 is observed as world population day. India stands as the second most populated country after china. It is expected to add 273 million people by end of 2050 and surpass china in just right years.It will remain the most populated country until the end of the century, according to UN report.
