BLACK LIFE MATTERS

“BLACK LIFE MATTERS” is the new trend on social media. It is an International human right movement originating in American African countries against the racism against black people. This organisation was found back in 13 July,2013 by the leaders Alisa Garza, Patrisse Cullors and Opal Tometi. Back in 2013, when a 17 year old teenage boy Trayvon Martin was killed by a white man in Florida. “Our Lives Matter, Black Lives Matter,” Ms. Garza wrote on Facebook. Ms. Cullors replied: “#BlackLivesMatter”. Ms. Tometi joined in and the hashtag spread its digital wing. This is how B.L.M. started worldwide. The aim of B.L.M. is to eradicate white supremacy and build local power to intervene in violence inflicted on black communities by the state and vigilantes. After 6 years, again this is the greatest topic in every country after the injustice by a policeman with a black-man.

According to statements by the family of George Flyod,“This is a significant step forward on the road to justice, and we are gratified that this important action was brought before George Floyd’s body was laid to rest,” Benjamin Crump, attorney for the Floyd family, said in a statement.

Social media fled with tweets, posts and retweets in favour of BLACK LIFE MATTERS in every part of the world.Even the Canadian- Prime-Minister Justin Trudeau made a last minute appearance at an anti-racial discrimination rally in the country’s capital Ottawa unannounced and proceeded to kneel along with protestors as they paid homage to African-American George Floyd.Somali-Canadian Cabinet colleague Ahmed Hussen, the Minister for Families, Children and Social Development joined him to this impromptu rally.

Dr Theresa Tam, Canada’s chief public health officer, has asked the public for virtual rallies instead of gatherings due to COVID-19 pandemic.

India’s Booming Population, Boon or Bane?

A pie chart showing major countries and their population percentage with the world

India with a population count of almost 1.35 Billion stands second in the entire planet after China. There are certain nations with similar ‘people per sq. Km’ ratios, one such example is of Japan and it has done remarkably great in terms of its wonderfully boosted economy. Can India do the same? Well, so far it has come up good with rising potential. The only question arises, could it come up to those expectations, because a lot has to done if India seeks to turn its massive population into its favour. If India looks to change its economy towards higher standards alike Japan, Indian citizens need to follow those strict discipline like the Japanese. More indigenous business setups has to be established to make India self-reliant and for this its humongous population with majority of youth (60 Cr. Plus) has to work much more seriously. A combined effort of its huge population would do wonders for India, it’s just that India needs to realise this before it’s too late to recover.

The main impact the growing population has is on the economic growth as a modest increase in national income under economic development is being eaten up by the increase in population. As a result, the per capita income of the country does not grow which in turn results in a poor standard of living. So, the overall development of the country and rise in per capita income are directly linked to population.

There is a similar scare mongering about too high a population density of Indian cities. According to them, cities are better with a lesser number of people so that they have less crowded roads, large expansive houses and lesser number of riders on commuter trains. But aren’t the advocates of sparsely populated cities arguing against their own economic well-being. Cities are vast and teeming with people not because city-dwellers like it that way but because economy and business demands it.

The rate of population growth depends on the difference between the birth rate and the death rate. Thus, the population growth experienced in India can largely be explained by variations in birth and death rates.

In 1900, India’s population count was roughly 24 Cr. In 1950-51, India’s population was 36 Cr. In 2001 it jumped to 100 Cr. This population begun soaring in the 1950s and saw the highest decadal growth of 24.8 per cent in the 1960s and 24.7 per cent in the 1970s. Since the 1980s, decadal growth has been falling and the 1990s saw a significant fall. In fact, India’s total fertility rate – a measure of the number of children born to a woman during her lifetime – was down from 5.9 in 1951 to 2.3 in 2011. The fertility rate due to the population policies and other measures has been falling but even then it is much higher compared to other countries. This means that the birth rate has been falling, but with rapid progress in medical sciences, the death rate has fallen which has ensured that the population grows.

Other reasons that have contributed to high birth rates are early marriages, lack of awareness, poverty and illiteracy, and illegal migration.

A recent report by the UN predicts that India’s population could surpass that of China by around 2024. And this is despite the fact that the country has one of the oldest family planning programmes in the world, dating back to 1951.

In the year 2017, the government of India launched Mission Parivar Vikas as a part of its national family planning initiative. It marks the first attempt at the government level to deal with family planning as a social issue rather than just a health issue, to be dealt with at a health centre. The initiative incorporates a component called ‘Saas Bahu Sammelans’ aimed at improving communication between mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law. It would not be right to say that the programs initiated by the government to rein in population growth have not been successful. A fertility rate of about 2.1 is a benchmark figure for ensuring a broadly stable population.

The growth should be stabilised by raising awareness among all the citizens on India, specifically in the rural regions of India because this isn’t just the government’s task from planning committee. This concerns each individual of India and to the world as well. Where we have reached so far could not be undone, this is obvious but what we could definitely do is make good use of it. Let’s engage, educate and expand the minds of Indians, specifically the Youth.

HIROSHIMA AND NAGASAKI-‘THE UNFORGETTABLE PAST’

During World War II, When the world was fighting against each other. The United States prepared two deadly weapons to strike Japan. United Kingdom was also involved in this disastrous plan killing more than 200,000 people, among which maximum were civilians and others were armed forces of nuclear weapons. This act against humanity left the world in terror. The fear of death and urge to live life grew in their eyes with the bombings in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The bombs took several lives leaving behind dead bodies. Even till day, the people who were born from the laps of the survivors of the blast are handicap, deaf , dumb, blind or with any other deficiency disease.

Three days later, USA again dropped B-29 bomb in Nagasaki killing almost 40,000 people. Japan’s Emperor Hirohito announced his country’s unconditional surrender in World War II in a radio address on August 15, citing the devastating power of a new and most cruel bomb.

Hiroshima, a manufacturing center of some 350,000 people located about 500 miles from Tokyo, was selected as the first target. After arriving at the U.S. base on the Pacific island of Tinian, the more than 9,000-pound uranium-235 bomb was loaded aboard a modified B-29 bomber christened Enola Gay (after the mother of its pilot, Colonel Paul Tibbets). The plane dropped the bomb–known as “Little Boy”–by parachute at 8:15 in the morning, and it exploded 2,000 feet above Hiroshima in a blast equal to 12-15,000 tons of TNT, destroying five square miles of the city.

LEFT IMAGE IS HIROSHIMA AND RIGHT IS NAGASAKI

The secondary target, Nagasaki, where the plutonium bomb “Fat Man” was dropped at 11:02 that morning. More powerful than the one used at Hiroshima, the bomb weighed nearly 10,000 pounds and was built to produce a 22-kiloton blast. The topography of Nagasaki, which was nestled in narrow valleys between mountains, reduced the bomb’s effect, limiting the destruction to 2.6 square miles.

This was not the end of the bombs against Japan. According to sources, US was planning more bomb attacks on Japan. After the several meetings, a lot of discussions. An imperial meeting was called by which the government decided to surrender with the signature of Prime Minister and other cabinet members. After a long conference with the members and then media, On August 12, the Emperor informed the imperial family of his decision to surrender. Despite the rebel by militarises the Emperor Hirohito was ready to surrender. On August 14, he recorded his announcement to surrender which the media telecast the other day. In his declaration, Hirohito referred to the atomic bombings, and did not explicitly mention the Soviets as a factor for surrender. But However, On 17 August,he stressed the impact of the Soviet invasion on his decision to surrender.

FORMER EMPEROR HIROHITO

An estimated 90,000 to 140,000 people in Hiroshima (up to 39% of the population) and 60,000 to 80,000 people in Nagasaki (up to 32% of the population) died in 1945, though the number which died immediately as a result of exposure to the blast, heat, or due to radiation, is unknown. The birth deficiencies increased every year, Cancer rates increased. Despite, not coming in direct contact with the bombs but the explosion was explosive and lead to a greater area and infected the locals. Even till date, the symptoms are seen in people and it was a very explosive bomb which destroyed lives of many people, vanished away happiness leaving behind the dead bodies.

DINOSAUR-‘AN EXTINCT SPECIES’

Around 200 million years ago, the most diverse group of reptiles, the Dinosaurs existed which got extinct with time. The first dinosaur was seen in Triassic Period between 233 to 243 million years ago. Their dominance continued throughout the Jurassic and  Cretaceous periods. There were two varieties of dinosaurs in past. According to paleontologists, there are almost 500 varieties of avian dinosaurs and 1000 varieties of non-avian dinosaurs.  Dinosaurs are represented on every continent by both extinct species and fossil remains. Through the first half of the 20th century, before birds were recognized to be dinosaurs, most of the scientific community believed dinosaurs to have been sluggish and cold blooded. As the first dinosaur was seen in 19th century, the fossils of dinosaurs attract the tourist and are kept in many museums around the world. In almost every country, dinosaurs were found in earlier 19th century. The large sizes of some dinosaur groups, as well as their seemingly monstrous and fantastic nature. Amongst bestsellers such as Jurassic Park dinosaurs are mentioned. Paleontologists make continuous new discovers regularly about dinosaurs.

20 million years ago, Dinosaurs diverged from their archosaur ancestors during the Middle to Late Triassic epochs. According to Paleontologists Eoraptor are known to be the ancestors of dinosaurs. When dinosaurs appeared, they were not the dominant terrestrial animals. The terrestrial habitats were occupied by various types of archosauromorphs and therapisds, like cynodonts and rhynchosaurs. Their main competitors were the pseudosuchia, such as aetosaurs, ornithosuchids and rauisuchians, which were more successful than the dinosaurs.Dinosaur evolution after the Triassic follows changes in vegetation and the location of continents. In the Late Triassic and Early Jurassic, the continents were connected as the single landmass Pangaea, and there was a worldwide dinosaur fauna mostly composed of coelophysoid carnivores and early sauropodomorph herbivores.

Dinosaurs belong to a group known as archosaurs, which also includes modern crocodilians. Within the archosaur group, dinosaurs are differentiated most noticeably by their gait. Dinosaur legs extend directly beneath the body, whereas the legs of lizards and crocodilians sprawl out to either side.Collectively, dinosaurs as a clade are divided into two primary branches, Saurischia and Ornithischia. Saurischia includes those taxa sharing a more recent common ancestor with birds than with Ornithischia, while Ornithischia includes all taxa sharing a more recent common ancestor with Triceratops than with Saurischia. Anatomically, these two groups can be distinguished most noticeably by their pelvic structure.

SKELETON OF DINOSAUR

Scientists will probably never be certain of the largest and smallest dinosaurs to have ever existed. This is because only a tiny percentage of animals were ever fossilized and most of these remain buried in the earth. Few of the specimens that are recovered are complete skeletons, and impressions of skin and other soft tissues are rare. Rebuilding a complete skeleton by comparing the size and morphology of bones to those of similar, better-known species is an inexact art, and reconstructing the muscles and other organs of the living animal is, at best, a process of educated guesswork.

The behavior of dinosaurs are common among the birds and some are common with crocodiles. The first potential evidence for herding or flocking as a widespread behavior common to many dinosaur groups in addition to birds was the 1878 discovery of 31 lguanodon bernissartenis, ornithischians that were then thought to have perished together in Bernissart, Belgium after they fell into a deep, flooded sinkhole and drowned. The type of collagen an animal has in its bones varies according to its DNA and, in both cases, this collagen was of the same type found in modern chickens and ostriches.

In 2015, researchers reported finding structures similar to blood cells and collagen fibers, preserved in the bone fossils of six Cretaceous dinosaur specimens, which are approximately 75 million years old. Dinosaurs are the extinct species which has many mysteries found by scientist.

THE BLACK HOLE

The mysterious Black hole is a place in space where gravity pulls so much that even light can not get out. The gravity is so strong because matter has been squeezed into a tiny space. This can happen when a star is dying. The boundary from where no escape is possible is called event horizon. The black holes can be either small or big in the space and are visible by space telescopes with special tools. Thy are advanced telescopes with advance technology by which scientists see black holes. The temperature near the black holes are near the billion Kelvins making it approximately impossible to see. The gravitational field were first observed in 18th century by John Michell and Pierre Smon Laplace.

Black Hole

Scientists believe that a black hole could be as small as an atom and their mass is large as a mountain. There is no specific size for an black hole. One kind of black hole is “Stellar”. It’s mass can be 20 times more mass than mass of sun. Almost their mass is more than 1 million suns together. Milky way galaxy also known as Earth’s galaxy has a center known as Sagittarius. It has a mass equal to about 4 million suns and would fit inside a very large ball that could hold a few million Earths. According to researchers and scientists, the life begun from black holes.Stellar black holes are made when the center of a very big star falls in upon itself, or collapses. When this happens, it causes a supernova. A supernova is an exploding star that blasts part of the star into space.Scientists think supermassive black holes were made at the same time as the galaxy they are in.

These black holes are often referred to as Schwarzchild black holes after Karl Schwarzschild who discovered this solution in 1916. According to Birkhoff’s therorem,it is the only vacuum solution that is spherically symmetric. This means there is no observable difference at a distance between the gravitational field of such a black hole and that of any other spherical object of the same mass. In the black horizon, the notion of slurping everything near the black hole is correct near the external gravitational field is identical to that of any other body of the same mass.

Black holes do not go around in space eating stars, moons and planets. Earth will not fall into a black hole because no black hole is close enough to the solar system for Earth to do that.Even if a black hole the same mass as the sun were to take the place of the sun, Earth still would not fall in. The black hole would have the same gravity as the sun. Earth and the other planets would orbit the black hole as they orbit the sun now.The sun will never turn into a black hole. The sun is not a big enough star to make a black hole.

“We’re starting to gather real statistics on binary black hole systems,” said LIGO scientist Keita Kawabe of Caltech, who is based at the LIGO Hanford Observatory. “That’s interesting because some models of black hole binary formation are somewhat favored over the others even now, and in the future, we can further narrow this down.” The black holes are the one of the most mysterious things of the world. Scientist over time reveals new things about the hole. Black holes always remain terrific fodder for science fiction books and movies.

Friend is a friend

Why can’t I spend the time with friends who are with me? Why am I speaking to some other friends who are far apart and spending time? Today I observed that one of my friend felt sad and shared his sadness to some other friend who is also a friend of mine. That mutual friend said it would be better to spend time with the person who is beside us rather than speaking to someone else and talking about past.

Enjoy the present with the people who are present before us. Why can’t I see what’s infront of me and try to figure out a way to spend some time here. I don’t know why I like to spend the time there in the past but not in the present. I think of spending some time but it just stops at thinking. I should speak to the people who are with me whether I like them or not. I should atleast pay attention if not so give some importance for a period of time. May be everyone forget their surroundings when they speak on phone. It’s not the problem with me, it’s everyone’s. Atleast try to give a reply if not respond.

Speaking for speaking isn’t replying, it’s just nodding. Have time for everyone. Know where to spend the time and with whom. Living in the moment doesn’t mean staying alive. It’s the choice you make yourself to spend effective time with the person. Postpone your things and live with the person who is living beside you. Have a clear thought on your life and live there. Living in the past can also be done in future but living in present can be done only in present. Present is a present to your life.

I am thinking not to speak in phone while I am with my friends. He can also do the same but he didn’t and he tries to spend the time with the people around hin ine way or the other. Speaking with old friend might make you happy but leaving behind your friend and speaking to him makes the guy with you sad. You should have a balance between the friends and know when to spend with whom . The priority isn’t the person, it’s time. The person with you shouldn’t feel alone when he is with you. Atleast he might feel uninterested but feeling lonely isn’t acceptable.

Lead a life where you should give a lead to others on how to lead a leading life. Have a thought, give a pause and make a decision with your brain because heart will definitely choose your closest friend and makes you to speak with him. Brain makes you think in a logical way and makes a calculative decision. Decide before you do because after that your decision won’t reflect your doings. I am hoping to change myself and treat everyone in same manner when they are with me. If you have a friend beside you and trying to spend some time with you, then be patient if he’s uninterested, be calm if he’s too talkitive. Spend some time with your peers.

India- China Border Dispute

As we know recently there is a dispute between India and China and if the sources are true, it can form a situation of war between two countries. This dispute is along the disputed Himalayan border running along the Ladakh area of Kashmir. The clashes are because of Galwan Valley. The Galwan River flows from the disputed Aksai Chin region to Ladakh of India. It originates in the area of Samzungling on the eastern side of the Karakoram range and flows west to join the Shyok River.

It is the most malignant clash after 1967 and 1975. 20 soldiers of India died in the war at the border on Wednesday.  The fight broke out on Monday between the to nations evening when an Indian patrol came across Chinese forces on a narrow ridge. During the confrontation an Indian commanding officer was pushed and fell into the river gorge, sources told the guardian. Hundreds of troops from both sides were called in and fought with each other. Several fell to their deaths from both sides.

Both the countries are fighting against each other from decades over a territory of Galwan Valley. The issue heated up as in recent months over a new road India built in Ladakh, along the Line of Actual Control which divides the sides. India and China have fought only war in 1962, where India suffered a humiliating defeat. The war almost continue till one month between 20 October,1962 to 21 November 1962.

With a three-week ceasefire, the war lasted till November 21, when China unilaterally withdrew from Indian territories before the snow could block safe passage to its forces. The war lasted one month but resulted in more than 1,000 Indian deaths and over 3,000 Indians taken as prisoners. The Chinese military suffered fewer than 800 deaths. Around 3,250 Indian soldiers were killed. India lost about 43,000 square kilometres of land, captured by China in Aksai Chin. India has accused China of sending thousands of troops into Ladakh’s Galwan valley and says China occupies 38,000sq km (14,700sq miles) of its territory. Several times countries have tried to discuss and sort the dispute. In 1962, China drew a unilateral line between India and China. Later, In 1967 India pushed China back into their territory without removing LAC. The LAC is a rough demarcation line separating Indian-controlled territory from Chinese-controlled territory. The exact location of sections of the line, particularly in the western Ladakh region, have remained in dispute.

The conflict has enormous geopolitical consequences for the world. China and India are the two most populous nations on earth, and both are nuclear powers. They are led by governments run strongly along nationalist lines, and whose militaries are seen as markers of national status and pride. As per the new reports, China loss their 43 soldiers in the war. Some are dead and some with serious injuries. It is a critical situation between the two countries and as far as we can see is the situation of war. The fighting was the last time that troops on either side would be killed — until the skirmishes in the Galwan Valley on Tuesday. Indian news outlets reported that Chinese soldiers had also been killed, but Beijing didn’t responded to any of the fact.

The Great Wall Of China

One of the seven wonders of the world is Great Wall Of China. The ancient wall is made up of cement, rocks, bricks, and powdered dirt. The main motto for making this wall was was to protect the north of the empire of china from enemies attack. This longest human structure was completed in 1878. It is about 21,196 kilometres (13,171 miles) long, 9.1 metres (30 feet) wide and 15 metres (50 feet) high. Earlier the wall was made by dirt but later it was changed with bricks. The great wall consists of 19 walls in total. The wall was built under the command of Qin Shai Hong, the emperor of imperial China in 226 to 200 BC.

Qin Shai Hong made his own dynasty known as Qin dynasty. Xiongnu tributes were his enemies so he ordered to build the walls so that it would get difficult for them to cross the wall and enter their dynasty. Soon other dynasties constructed the wall longer. Initially, under Qin Shai Hong built the wall with dust and dirt. Later, Ming Dynasty they replaced dust and dirt with cement and bricks. Builders used materials that were nearby. Some parts of the wall were made of mud, straw, and twigs. Thousands of workers died from giant falling stones, exhaustion, disease, animal attacks, and starvation. The workers who died during the construction of this huge wall were buried under the wall is a myth. Known as the “Square Wall,” this fortification was situated in the northern part of the kingdom’s capital province. After administrative reorganization was carried out by Shang Yang (died 338 BCE), the Qin state grew politically and militarily to become the strongest among the seven states, but it was frequently raided by the Donghu and Loufan, two nomadic peoples from the north. Therefore, the Qin erected a wall that started from Lintiao, went north along the Liupan Mountains, and ended at the Huang He (Yellow River).

It is located at Asia- Pacific region of China. Barracks, stables, and armories were built near the wall’s inner surface. Now it is the most attracting places of the world. Every year a lot of tourist visit the great wall.In 2014 a portion of the wall near the border of Liaoning and Hebei province was repaired with concrete. The work has been much criticized. Earlier it was reported that Gret Wall can be seen from space. But later when Neil Armstrong told that he was not capable to see the wall from moon. But, Gene Cernan told he was able to see the great wall from the lower orbit.

In October 2003, Chinese astronaut Yang Liwei stated that he had not been able to see the Great Wall of China. In response, the European Space Agency (ESA) issued a press release reporting that from an orbit between 160 and 320 km (100 and 200 mi), the Great Wall is visible to the naked eye. Today, the defensive system of the Great Wall is generally recognized as one of the most impressive architectural feats in history. The great wall of China is one of the wonder of the world. Its fascinating walls, length and the historic material used for preparing the walls and the longest walls of the world.

Approximately 12,000 years ago, the Niagara Falls started forming at the end of ice age  when large torrents of water were released from the melting ice, draining into the Niagara River. Niagara Falls has had a Black population since at least 1783. Eventually, the force of the water wore away the rock layers and Niagara Falls moved upstream, reaching its present location. Year after year, the formation continues with the annual freezing and thawing of the Niagara River, along with gradual erosion and periodic rock-falls. Hydroelectric power is used at the Niagara falls to protect the heavy volume of water. Tourism started in the early 19th century and has been a vital part of the local economy since that time. The falls became known as a natural wonder, in part to their being featured in paintings by prominent American artists of the 19th century such as Albert Bierstadt.  Such works were reproduced as lithographs, becoming widely distributed.
