Examination system of India

In India, the most significant job of a Board, Council, or University is to conduct examinations. The memory of a test has been entrenched in a child’s consciousness since the beginning of his school life. He is taught that, in the end, the tests would be the sole determinants of his future existence.

Advantages

Examinations have grown in prominence in the scheme of a student’s life in India. Of course, there is no disputing that tests are quite vital for pupils. There is no alternative way on the horizon for objectively assessing the merits of the kids. All pupils are not always the eager kind to pay attention to their classes and thoroughly prepare for them in order to get the maximum advantage. The examination system forces them in this direction. The examiners are unknown to the examinees during the public examination. Examiners have no room for bias in their work of reviewing scripts, and examinations allow for an honest appraisal of the merits of the pupils. The examination’s most valuable gift to a student is that it instills in him a zest for healthy competition; and without this spirit, a student would struggle to flourish in life. The present examination system may offer a possible chance to a mediocre student to score better results than a really meritorious one.

Disadvantages

The current examination system, with its yardstick, fails to correctly judge the merit of such a pupil. A brilliant student’s mind and talent can never be constrained to the confines of his textbooks. His perspective is broader. A student, on the other hand, may be of ordinary ability. But he makes precise assumptions about the likely questions, and he reproduces them perfectly in the examination. His outcomes might be pretty appealing. This oddity is the result of India’s current examination system. In the current method, an examinee must answer a large number of questions in a short period of time. Clearly, he sees no way to respond based on his conception and reasoning. As a result, he has to memorize the courses and answers from memory. As a result, determining actual merit becomes a farce. The examiners must review a huge number of scripts in a short amount of time. They, too, are required to do justice in the consistent value of the response scripts in a hurry. Furthermore, the attitude of the examiners under different conditions is occasionally reflected in the task.

This testing system requires an upgrade. Some modifications are needed in the system of determining a student’s merit in a single examination. Before rendering a final judgment on a student’s performance, his records for the full academic session must be considered. Methods for assessing pupils’ qualitative abilities should be developed. As a result, the darkness of disorder will vanish in the wake of the dazzling light of the cosmos.

IMPACTS OF SOCIAL MEDIA IN OUR LIFE

There are so many things that have advantages and disadvantages in life. More than pros and cons, these things leave an impact in our life either good or bad. One such thing is social media. Every one of us uses social media knowingly and unknowingly. Our day starts with and ends in social media. Social media doesn’t only include WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter. It covers all that provide us information through the internet and keeps the world connected. Such media which influence our day-to-day life has both advantages and disadvantages. It gives us a way to connect with our distant friends and relations. Also, social media is used for relaxing and getting relief from work stress.

DISADVANTAGES

After going through a lot of advantages, let us see some disadvantages of social media. When coming to disadvantages the first thing that comes to our mind is privacy problems. Sharing some content or posts may seem inappropriate for others and problems can arise from it. Also, sharing our personal and professional info can cost us sometimes due to hacking and other threats. Some people may try to bully us by knowing our details. This is a very bad disadvantage of social media. Another, we get influenced by others so much that we start changing our lifestyles. Scrolling for long hours will have a very bad effect on our body and health. We change our sleep cycles due to this unending scrolling and ruin our eyes and sleep. Although social media connects people, there is a lack of emotional connection between them. Due to these social media, we end up sending messages even for important issues and lost the habit of speaking over the phone. When we speak over the phone, the emotions are also conveyed along with the messages. In chatting, only our messages are sent and not the emotions. So, anybody in the conversation cannot sense that feel. We engage ourselves most of the time in social media and fail to spend time with family which is the most essential one. Finally overusing will lead us to get addicted to it and it becomes very difficult to get over the addiction.

This conflict between advantages and disadvantages continues to grow. Nothing can be perfect in life. It is our efforts that help us lead a perfect flawless life. We have to ensure that whether we are making good use of social media. If we feel that we are getting addicted to social media, just try to come out of that routine. Everything lies in our hand’s control and nothing can go out of it until we don’t allow it.

TODAY’S SOCIAL MEDIA

Social media or the internet plays a vital role in our daily lives. Now with these online classes and work from home has proved it’ But there are always advantages and disadvantages.

Social media is a necessity:

Social media is more than a “trend.” It is a means of living. It gets various jobs executed at a time. It constitutes a precise and professional association and establishes you at the front of the profession you want to grow in. it is not a mere extravagance that can be afforded only by affluent people, it has become an essential requirement of life. Because of social media, businesses increase faster and the advertisements of labels and concepts are made for free. Artists and stars have more than one platform to choose from in order to stay connected with their fan base.

Social media builds connection in spite of geographic remoteness:

The Internet epoch has built long-distance interaction dramatically quicker, simpler, and more affordable than ever before. This, it has been claimed, has reduced the consequence of geographic contiguity in social communications, modifying our world from a “global village” into a “borderless society”. The potential lies in the palms of the user, because the person can, within a single click, publish their thoughts and beliefs with anyone in the world at any time through social media. Don’t apprehend the network: the internet is transforming the method we interact for the better.

Social media is informative:

Social media benefits one to access the world of information in one click. One obtains access to plenty of data, be it science, technology, or as simple as booking tickets for a movie. E-commerce has allowed us to deliver everything anywhere easily. Hence, social media is the digital version of people. It benefits us to join, participate, and discover.

Social media helps in the improvement of entrepreneurs and brands:

The convenience of using social media in marketing is raising brand awareness. Social media can helps a business to grow its brand recognition by improving intercommunications with a business brand. Brand awareness means the total percentage of target people who know the company exists and what the company offers of products or services. When the brand awareness is developed, the probability of purchasing is improved. Thus, attempts should be made to make the brand a part of the mindfulness of consumers.

Social media causes addiction:

Social media is as bad as alcohol and drugs for millennials. The word “addiction” brings to mind alcohol and drugs. Yet, over the past 20 years, a different type of obsession has developed: addiction to social media. It has the potential to provoke long-term destruction to our emotions, habits, and relationships.

Social media decreases face to face conversation:

Social media has caused people to lose the skill to communicate efficiently. Social media has led us to have fewer interactions with the people that they connect with. The majority of people have access to social media at any time they want via their smartphones, so this only worsens as larger people begin to obtain smartphones. Since it has become more common, social media has made people have a trend to want to communicate with people online rather than in person because it has made the means easier.

Social media spreads a lot of trick messages and rumors:

Rumors and fabrications have been there since the start of time but on social media, it just gets more dangerous because it reaches across millions of people. Rumors begin as one small action and before we understand it has become another huge issue. Rumors have done a lot of harm and always continue to create anxiety and suffering amongst people. Beware, don’t be an associate to promoting rumors.

Reality of life trapped in social media.

The irony with social media is that it has affected most people in the exact opposite way. The general public has become less social than ever before. What everyone does nowadays is just looking at their phones all the time.

Social media has become the tool to compete, to portray your imperfect life in the most perfect manner. You want to post literally everything. Life has become a beautiful display of cosmetic products which are worst when used. It’s all about showing off on the internet because the world needs to know that you are the best. The norm is that you will be judged based on your Instagram profile instead of how you are in real. Well who has time to understand a person when social media can literally show the glossy life the person is leading, the last pub visited, last time they went for a run, the country/city ticket off their list, their milestones, the birthdays of their friends, the shopping they did, the TV show they are watching and you can literally watch the full movie they are seeing in the theaters right at this moment on their stories because if it’s not uploaded on insta than how will the world know they have watched a new movie or wait they themselves won’t believe that they have seen it because the whole time they were just busy capturing it to show it to the world.

Since it’s a massive competition now, You have to look flawless on social media. To capture that one exquisite picture which will be going online, you are ready to spend hours on a Diwali evening rather than enjoying moments with your friends and family because the world needs to know how you were looking. Social media can literally tell you who celebrates which festivals and where. So if you are not at home for a festival, you have to post #MissingFamily instead of actually connecting with your family and even if you are having a video call than everyone needs to look perfect and fake a smile because now a screenshot will go online. Editing is a must, you even change the shade of your arm to make it look whiter because everyone online is no less than a model.

You meet an old friend and all you do is click pics, talk about social media activities of your other friends and occasionally in between, check your new insta feed and WhatsApp messages.

The peer pressure is tremendous. This is the most dangerous thing because upon seeing the near-perfect life of everyone, the best office culture they have, the parties they enjoy every Friday, the coolest things they do on the weekends, the park they visited, the dog they liked, the sport they played, the wedding they attended and I cannot even start on the gym pictures but since everything is right there on your phone so your transition “from not getting at all affected” to “you also start posting the same shit just to show to world that yes you are also having fun” is very easy. Trust me, the things you do online due to peer pressure are higher than anything else, if your colleague is doing great things at work it’s okay but if your friend (Social Media Friend) is visiting a pub every weekend with the coolest people than you want that otherwise, you feel you are a looser.

People have created their own social media rulebook which needs to be followed otherwise you are considered outdated, boring, frustrated from life kinda person. Now is actually a high time to introduce a subject in school to teach the kids how to handle social media, How to handle the social media pressure, how it’s okay to not put everything online, how to have a life outside of it, especially how to talk to a person and have a real good conversation without checking your phone even for 15 minutes. But what about the people who are already educated? Well just learn it from your parents, they are the live example of how you can be happy even without social media.

Social media is good, in fact, it’s great but what it has become today, what it has done to people is simply dreadful. Blessed are the ones who are still not in this trap.

The biggest irony of all is that one is putting this post on social media.
