SWAYAM is a programme initiated by Government of India and designed to achieve the three cardinal principles of Education Policy viz., access, equity and quality. The objective of this effort is to take the best teaching learning resources to all, including the most disadvantaged. SWAYAM seeks to bridge the digital divide for students who have hitherto remained untouched by the digital revolution and have not been able to join the mainstream of the knowledge economy.

This is done through a platform that facilitates hosting of all the courses, taught in classrooms from Class 9 till post-graduation to be accessed by anyone, anywhere at any time. All the courses are interactive, prepared by the best teachers in the country and are available, free of cost to any learner. More than 1,000 specially chosen faculty and teachers from across the country have participated in preparing these courses.

The courses hosted on SWAYAM are in 4 quadrants – (1) video lecture, (2) specially prepared reading material that can be downloaded/printed (3) self-assessment tests through tests and quizzes and (4) an online discussion forum for clearing the doubts. Steps have been taken to enrich the learning experience by using audio-video and multi-media and state of the art pedagogy / technology.

 In order to ensure that best quality content is produced and delivered, nine National Coordinators have been appointed. They are:

  NPTEL (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning) for Engineering

Courses delivered through SWAYAM are available free of cost to the learners, however learners wanting a SWAYAM certificate should register for the final proctored exams that come at a fee and attend in-person at designated centres on specified dates. Eligibility for the certificate will be announced on the course page and learners will get certificates only if this criteria is matched. Universities/colleges approving credit transfer for these courses can use the marks/certificate obtained in these courses for the same.

1.    Step 1. Search for the SWAYAM website or you can click on https://swayam.gov.in/ to go directly to                  the website.

2.   Step  2. The webpage will open and you can register on the website by clicking on SIGN-           IN/REGISTER button.

3.   Step 3. After registering on the website click on All Courses at the top of the page to find the relevant course. The page will appear which shows all the courses.

4.   Step 4. You can find the course of your choice by searching in the Course Catalog option or by scrolling down. You can also apply a filter (shown on the left of the above image) to search for the course according to your convenience.

5.  Step 5. After choosing your favorite course click on it. This will direct you to the page showing all the information about that particular course. You can get every information about that course and can join the course by clicking on the JOIN button.

The Government of India has initiated a number of schemes and Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India has started so many Programmes for the empowerment of Women.

When women are empowered they get the right to speak up, get a proper education, have a fixed income, do not become victims of early child marriage or domestic violence and do not have to face harassment. Also when women will be empowered, they will have their daughters empowered as well. Women empowerment cannot be possible unless women come with and help to self-empower themselves or other women for which they will be paid back for their, support love and care to each other. Benefits of INTERNSHIPS

Internships are referred to a work done by a student or a graduate for a professional experience which is meaningful and related to his/her field of study or career interest. Internships also help students to learn and will also experience of working in co-operative companies. It’s also an opportunity for a student to develop his career and learn a new skill.


      There are different types of internships some of them are

·      Paid internship:-  These types of internships help the students experience a new skill which can also relate to his/her study field, career interest  and get paid money for his/her works.

·      Summer internships: – This internship is most popular. These internships are most help for students to learn and earn in their free time and can spend more time in working for their career.

·      Co-operative education: – This internship is different from other internships. Another type of internship to choose from is a cooperative education program. This internship is a three- way partnership between a student, an employer, and a college or a university. The difference between normal internship and co-operative is length of time.

·      Unpaid internship:- unpaid paid internships provides  a students or a graduate experience of new skill or give experiencing in student’s field of study or career interest. 

·      Externships: – externship is option where he /she is can gain knowledge in a career interest. It’s also shorter than internship more like a day or few weeks.by externship students can experience day to day activities and responsibilities of the job. 

Present Educational Policy

Introduction

Under the Indian Constitution, Article 21-A states that free and compulsory education upto to an age of fourteen years is the fundamental right of every individual born in India. Therefore, education plays a vital role in shaping an individual’s personality. Till date three policies in the sector of education has been introduced, National Educational Policy 1968, National Educational Policy 1986 and National Educational Policy 2020. The former policies mainly dealt with the educational approach issues, thus in order to resolve the drawbacks, the new policy was introduced keeping in mind the requirements and needs of the near future that would result in the development of education in schools as well as in higher institutions. The National Educational Policy was approved by the Indian government in light to achieve development of the nation and promote equality in the society. In 2020, the Ministry of Human resource Development was also renamed as Ministry of Education.

Aim

The New Educational Policy is an altered or revised system of education along with some new outline measures. The policy aims at establishing a zestful and lively environment of education as well as making the student skilled in their work and receptive to its surrounding. The objective of the New National Policy is to make India a powerful nation world wide in the field of knowledge. The purpose of NEP has changed to ‘How to Think’ from ‘What to Think’.

Advantages:

The unified advancement of the learner is the main objective of the learner. Providing the schooling experience at an early stage by replacing the system of 10+2 with 5+3+3+4 measure with pre-schooling of 3 years and schooling of 12 years. The students will be provided two attempts for clearing board exams by scheduling them twice a year. The programmes at under-graduate level are envisaged with an approach of integration and multi-disciplinary manner. A common entrance test would be conducted by NTA in order to secure admissions in universities all over the nation. The rate of GDP is believed to rise by 6% by higher public investments as a result of joint working of the government of centre and state. The main focus of the policy is to replace the pressure of books by amplifying the practical learning. The students would have complete freedom to opt any courses of their choice and desire. The NEP would help in the development of skills and create a comfortable environment for group discussion, learning and reasoning in a better way.

Disadvantages or Challenges:

In the current scenario of education at elementary level, there is paucity of skilled teachers. Thus, under the National Educational Policy 2020, practical execution of the education system at elementary level is still observed as a problem unresolved. The admission in universities abroad is also predicted to be comparatively expensive under the National Educational Policy.

Conclusion

The approval of the National Educational Policy 2020 by the Indian government is a significant action to be brought up. The need for education is beneficial and necessary for both the nation and the society as a whole, thus implementation of such policies is required by the country to meet up the needs. However, the new education policy’s progress is solely dependent on its application. It can be concluded that the future of India will rest on the making of education of high quality available to the young generation of the nation as India is a country with the population of young people.
