Succulents

Succulents are indoor plants which can grow with very little water. They are ornamental plants and are used to decorate spaces for their interesting shapes and colours. If you are in search of house plants which can thrive with little care succulents are for you. Over the last few years succulents have grown very popular. There are hundreds of unique varieties and one doesn’t need gardening skills to care for them, anyone can grow them. They have special water storing tissues which help them to grow even in very dry conditions which is not favorable for most other plants. So, they are ideal for growing in your living room. They are also very easy to find in nurseries and shops.

In botany, succulent are plants which are thick and fleshy to retain water in arid climates or soil conditions. The word succulent comes from the Latin word sucus, meaning ‘juice’, or ‘sap’. These plants may store water in various structures, such as leaves and stems. The natural habitats of these water preserving plants are in areas where there is high temperatures and low rainfall, like deserts. Having the ability to thrive on limited water sources, such as mist and dew, succulents are equipped to survive in an ecosystem with scarce water sources. In horticulture, the term succulent regularly excludes cacti. However, in botanical terminology, cacti fall under succulents.

Some easy to grow succulent varieties are –

Burro’s tail – It is a trailing succulent that looks good in a hanging basket or container so it can drape over. The stems can reach up to 3 feet long and have gray-green leaves which looks like the grains of rice. Although it rarely blooms, pink or red flowers might be visible at the end of the stems in summer.

Christmas Cactus – It has flat segmented stems like crab claws which gives it the nick name crab claw cactus. It also prefers a bit more moisture so you can water it whenever the top inch of soil in the container is dry. Keeping it in bright light near a window, can make it bloom in winter.

Hens and Chickens – It is a very common type of succulent and is characterized by flower like structures with round edges. They are actually two different plants which look very similar. They have star shaped flowers.

Aloevera – It has long slender leaves with sharp teeth like edges. It’s well known for its sap which is used to treat skin diseases and heal wounds. Aloevera is an easy to grow houseplant and is tough to kill.

Snake Plant – They have thick, stiff and pointed leaves which grow straight up to 3 feet long. Having a patterned marking makes it look like a snake and hence the name. It will multiply and grow leading to filling the whole pot. It might require you to divide it in different pots.

African Milk Tree – It is capable of growing up to nine feet tall in natural habitat, and it isn’t actually a tree. As a houseplant, this succulent reaches up to three feet tall, producing upright, triangular, branched stems bordered with short sharp thorns. The tips of the green stems have small leaves with a reddish tinge.

Zebra Haworthia – It has striking stripes and spiky foliage which makes it look like a rare and exotic plant, but it’s often available at garden centers and is very easy-going when it comes to taking care of. It will stay small within 5 inches.

Reading Habit

One of the many goals which we want to achieve in life, developing a reading habit should be one. It may seem tough at first but with time and practice, everyone can achieve it. While some have mastered it, others might be struggling to be consistent with it. Many of us have tried reading at some point of time and failed to keep at it consistently. This may happen for a number of reasons but none of them mean that we can’t start with it again and give it a try. One of the most common ways in which people start reading is starting with a list of “Good books to start reading with”. The internet is flooded with such lists and many people have shared their suggestions. A book which has some literary value, is easy and engaging is a great choice to start with.

According to many bloggers and writers the following list of books can help someone who has been trying to start reading for a long time.

  • The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
  • Train to Pakistan by Khushwant Singh
  • The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank
  • The Harry Potter Series by J.K Rowling
  • Becoming by Michelle Obama
  • The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho

While it may work for some, others may not find it helpful. One of the common things which we fail to notice is the fact that most of us can’t bring ourselves to sit down with a book. This may be due to lack of time. In the middle of a busy day we fail to make time for reading. External factors like a proper surrounding can also be the reason for us getting distracted and impatient. So for people who can relate with these, a few suggestions can work.

Firstly, set a separate time for reading. Look at your schedule and take out a time which may be ideal for starting a new activity. Setting aside a specific time of the day for reading will help you focus more and be attentive.

Second, create a good reading atmosphere. Clean your surroundings and declutter everything around you. Attention depends a lot on external factors and an unkept background can often make you inattentive and disturbed.

Third, make a reading list. Write down all the books which you want to read next and keep ticking them off once you’re done. This will be like a to-do list and will motivate you to read. You can also take up reading challenges like ‘Ten books in a year’ or ‘One book a month’. Remember to start small and go one step at a time.

Fourth, start reading with a friend. Select a book and make plans to discuss with your friend once you complete it. You can also start talking about it among yourselves and discuss about what may happen next. This will definitely make you finish the book and also speed up your pace.

Fifth, be consistent. Make it a point to read every day. Even a small 15 minute would do. Once you skip a day it will become a habit and you’ll start repeating it. The same goes for the opposite. Once reading everyday becomes a habit you have developed the habit of reading quite well. So happy reading!

Bulimia:An Eating Disorder

In today’s instagram world,People especially adolescents are getting image and body conscious. They look at the perfect bodies of celebrities and aspire to be like them.In this aspiration, they are psychologically and physically wounded. Most of such people experience eating disorders where in they undergo extreme changes in their eating and exercise habits.Ultimately they damage themselves.

So,in today’s blog lets look at one of the eating disorders called Bulimia Nervosa,it’s causes and it’s impacts.Let’s get started.

Bulimia nervosa is an eating disorder characterized by episodes of binge eating—consuming a lot of food quickly—followed by compensatory behavior, most commonly vomiting or “purging.” People who are bulimic often feel a lack of control over their eating. A bulimic can consume as many as 3,400 calories in little more than an hour and as many as 20,000 calories in eight hours.

People with bulimia often know they have a problem and are afraid of their inability to stop eating. Bingeing is then followed by purging — namely, self-induced vomiting or the abuse of diuretics or laxatives. Bingeing and purging are often performed in secret, with feelings of shame alternating with relief.

The bingeing and purging cycle is usually repeated several times a week. As with anorexia, people with bulimia often have coexisting psychological illnesses, such as depression, anxiety, and substance abuse problems. Many physical dysfunctions result from the purging, including electrolyte imbalances, gastrointestinal troubles, and dental problems.

An estimated one to four percent of females have bulimia nervosa during their lifetime. The prevalence in males is unknown, but bulimia nervosa is far less common in males than females. Most cases begin in the late teens and early 20s, but can go undetected until the 30s or 40s.

SYMPTOMS

Bulimia signs and symptoms may include:

  • Being preoccupied with your body shape and weight
  • Living in fear of gaining weight
  • Repeated episodes of eating abnormally large amounts of food in one sitting
  • Feeling a loss of control during bingeing — like you can’t stop eating or can’t control what you eat
  • Forcing yourself to vomit or exercising too much to keep from gaining weight after bingeing
  • Using laxatives, diuretics or enemas after eating when they’re not needed
  • Fasting, restricting calories or avoiding certain foods between binges
  • Using dietary supplements or herbal products excessively for weight loss

CAUSES

Exact causes are not completely known and are believed to complex.Hence there is no single known cause of bulimia, but there are some factors that may play a part, such as:

  • Culture:As in strict body expectations:Slim and trim girls wanted for marriage in India.
  • Families:Constant pressure and criticism from parents on looks of children
  • Life changes or stressful events: can trigger bulimia.
  • Personality traits: Those with bulimia may have low self-esteem and feel hopeless.
  • Biology.:Genes, hormones, and other biological factors may contribute to development of bulimia.

Impact

Bulimia has a great impact on the individual and can lead to following complications:

  • Negative self-esteem and problems with relationships and social functioning
  • Dehydration leading to kidney failure
  • Heart problems
  • Severe tooth decay and gum disease
  • Absent or irregular periods in females
  • Digestive problems
  • Anxiety, depression, personality disorders or bipolar disorder
  • Misuse of alcohol or drugs
  • Self-injury and suicidal thoughts.

Management

If left untreated, bulimia can create major complications in life as mentioned above.Hence if you see your loved ones experiencing symptoms of bulimia, support them and console them.If the symptoms are unbearable, immediately consult a doctor and psychologist who will be able to help the patient successfully.

Please spread empathy and kindness.Acceptance and kindness can prevent bulimia in such insecure people.Every difficulty can be defeated with empathy, patience and willingness to improve and come out.

PERSONALITY THEORIES

According to the American Psychological Association,Personality refers to an individual differences in characteristic patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving. The study of personality focuses on two broad areas: One is understanding individual differences in particular personality characteristics, such as sociability or irritability. The other is understanding how the various parts of a person come together as a whole.

So this blog will introduce the readers to some important theories used to describe personality.Let’s get started!

1) FREUD PSYCHOANALYTICAL PERSPECTIVE:

According to Sigmund Freud Father of Psychoanalysis, an adult personality generally has three determinants: Id, Ego and Super Ego.The outcome of the combination of all the three determinants shapes an adult personality. Freud believed than an individual’s personality has three parts and thus is often called as tripartite personality.

  • Id:Irrational demands and urge.
  • Ego:Helps in fulfillment of Id after taking into consideration the reality.
  • Superego:Moral constraints of the individual.

Defense mechanisms play an important role in pushing unrealistic thoughts out of awareness. Stressful thoughts which are threatening to an individual’s survival should be pushed into unconscious mind to reduce anxiety through them.

2)ERIK ERIKSON:PSYCHOSOCIAL DEVELOPMENT THEORY:-

Erikson believes there are 8 stages in a person’s life and to enter into the next stage,a virtue has to be learnt from the previous stage and this leads to personality development. He focuses on different identity crisis in a person’s lifespan. As in

STAGE 1:Trust v/s Mistrust;Virtue:Hope

STAGE 2:Autonomy v/s Doubt;Virtue:Will

STAGE 3:Initiative v/s Guilt;Virtue:Sense of Purpose.

STAGE 4:Industriousness v/s Inferiorty;Virtue:Competence

STAGE 5:Identity cohesion v/s Role confusion;Virtue:Fidelity

STAGE 6:Intimacy v/s Isolation;Virtue:Love

STAGE 7:Generativity v/s Stagnation;Virtue:Care

STAGE 8:Ego Integrity v/s Despair;Virtue:Wisdom

3)CARL JUNG:INTOVERSION V/S EXTRAVERSION

Carl Jung established a theory, which saw universal types in human personality. The types categorized by Carl Jung are present in all of us. But, certain types are predominant over the normal mode of organizing our experience.Carl Jung also developed a theory of personality. His theory is one of the type theories of personality, as it involved typology of introversion and extraversion. There are 4 functions :Sensing, intuiting, thinking and feeling.

4)JULIAN ROTTER-LOCUS OF CONTROL

“Locus of Control.” For many people, their only exposure to the ideas of Julian B. Rotter is his concept of generalized expectancies for control of reinforcement, more commonly known as locus of control. Locus of control refers to people’s very general, cross-situational beliefs about what determines whether or not they get reinforced in life. People can be classified along a continuum from very internal to very external.
People with a strong internal locus of control believe that the responsibility for whether or not they get reinforced ultimately lies with themselves. Internals believe that success or failure is due to their own efforts. In contrast, externals believe that the reinforcers in life are controlled by luck, chance, or powerful others. Therefore, they see little impact of their own efforts on the amount of reinforcement they receive.

Thus we come to the end of the blog. This blog is aimed at introducing the readers to the world of personality analysis. However one must remember that human beings are complex and not one theory explains all the human behavior. The readers are requested to read more articles about the same and fill themselves with knowledge.

Believe

If you can’t do it atleast have a hope. Don’t get disappointed because that makes you go into deep depression. Take a moment to analyse yourself. Take a deep breath and have a moment to revise what gone wrong.

If you didn’t get what you want then definitely something more is waiting for you. You have to wait for the moment and be patient till then. You never know what’s next. If you know what’s gonna happen then life becomes so boring. Be brave enough to accept the failure. Success don’t teach you because failure make you think in all possible ways.

Believe in you and there will be some power deep inside which pushes you to do something that you never thought of doing. Believe while you live and make it worth.

Let it out

If you want so say something to someone then don’t wait for some other time. You never know what happens next. Don’t wait for the most moment. Make the moment perfect. You have to create the moment. Say it when you feel it because you never get the same feeling again.

Believe yourself because no one knows you better than you. Your conscience can say what you need and it does what it wants. You can’t stop it because inner you wants it even though some part of you don’t want it. You never know the importance of the moment during the moment. Speak of amd talk what ever you wanna talk. If you try to hide what you want to speak then that gut feeling will not allow you to speak freely and that hesitation hurts you even more. If you keep on hiding the feel you want to speak then it keeps on hurting you even worse. Let it out by speaking because it makes you free of everything.

Be brave enough to admit the fact or to deny the fact. You never know the presence of something when you have it. Speak and sort out the things you feel pain inside. It’s you who gonna hurt yourself by thinking of killing some one in your mind.

Depressed to be depressed

I don’t why I get hurt to small things. May be our heart can’t recognise the intensity of problem. Why do I get hurt all most all the time? I can’t take because I’m not used to it. O don’t know why am I living? Is it to give back what my parents gave me or it to give what I get to my kids. I don’t understand this cycle. People are here to live for others. We are unknowingly sacrificing our life’s to the people who didn’t born even.

I feel like living my parents life and may be I gonna live my kids life to make their life better. I don’t have a strong reason to live anymore. If I had to live my life the way I want then it’s never gonna happen in this shitty world. Sorry to those who think that you are leading a happy life. I don’t want it because I don’t want it. There are many reasons to be happy but there is only one reason to be sad. Sadness will go away and will keep on hitting us until the moment we die. I feel like feeling is better than reality atleast it does what we can’t. I don’t know what is making me to live because I didn’t find any reason other than making my parents proud and feeling proud of my kids if they exist if I could exist in future. I am bores of doing nothing because I don’t find crazy doing new things since I don’t have capacity to do it. I meant for nothing. I am useless I hope because I didn’t find a way to figure out the reason for my life.

I exhausted to breathe anymore because its making me tired. I am so fed up since my involuntary action also making me sick. I have a choice to live or to die. But why did I choose to live. Neither am I brave enough to die nor brave enough to live. Parents can’t understand because they are parents. They tried to make me to try something hard and make me have a good future. But it’s beyond my capacity to get what they want and they keep on pressuring me to try. I can’t take what they teach and what my parents speak. They wanted me to be like some other kid and try to compare me with every possible fellow. I tried hard to not cry because that makes me feel even mire depressed. I am what I am because everyone are different. I can’t blame parents for being such because they lived in such an atmosphere and we can’t change them until they know it themselves. I can’t blame myself for being a such useless fellow. I can’t share this with any of them because I can’t admit the fact that I cried. Being in such a state and think of own pride makes readers blame me. Everyone are right until you feel it wrong yourself.

Try every possible thing

Try everything you thought you couldn’t because trying such makes you try some other things. It’s not about excelling in only a specific sector. If you have a thought of teaching then go and give a try. Money will definitely come because we have lot of time. Trying isn’t that hard unlike trying to win. If you could get happiness in something then definitely go for it. At the end of the life no one remembers your job.

Try different jobs because same is always boring. Being comfortable makes you become lazy and tries to put in comfortable zone. Go for everything you like. If you love to act then give a try because you are not sure about next life. May be being constant makes you become even more constant. Take risk and try something you never thot of. Do both the things that you thought of and that you never thought off. Have a crazy life and try what not. Someday you gonna die even though you lead a comfortable life or a troublesome one. Taking trouble and being in trouble are forgettable.

Don’t have a memorable life because your memory will forget everything one day. Do many things that your mind couldn’t remember it. Try every possible thing until you forget to think of it.

Missing Rakhi from my sister

You never knew what you had untill you haven’t have it. I never knew that someday this day would come. I never felt sad because I was happy always. My sister never ever forget to sent Raksha Bandhan band to me. She either sent it or tied it. I never felt so sad for such things because she always sent it. But this time it was different. My sister tried her best to sent it to me but it was out of delivery or lately received. So she thought of making it to me whenever she was with me.

I had friends but very few. How could I make sisters when there exists no one whom I know. I never spoke to someone until they spoke. I never greeted someone till they do. So I have none to call me as a brother apart from my sister. That’s my fault to make my life stick to myself. Today is the only day my hand left with no rakhis. Everytime I don’t have to think about it because I had it. Almost all my friends had it even though they don’t have sisters. Everytime my sister used to tie rakhis to my friends but not now. This time it was quite opposite because my friends had it but not me. It might look like a silly thing to you, ofcourse it’s a silly thing to become sad of. Why do I feels sad ri Suh silly thing even after knowing it as a silly thing. Because ones emotions are unpredictable. We never know until it came.

I can’t stop looking at my friends rakhis because there are none on my hand. I know it’s hard to handle if you can’t get what you want. Sometimes it’s good to miss sister because it makes us think about her. Being same will always makes us bore so for a change now I am experiencing this too. I am so shy to share this writing even to my sister because there’s no way that I can make you feel the same way that I feel.

Happy Rakshabandhan to all the sisters who are reading this post because it’s the least that I could do

THE REAL YOU

“We have to dare to be ourselves, however frightening or strange that self may prove to be.” — May Sarton

We as humans are curious creatures. We explore, invent, discover and compose. But when it comes to knowing ourselves we are unfortunately lagging.

There are different expressions you might have come across in your readings about self-growth. Some call it the “fear of success”, while others term it as the “fear of failure”. However, I would like to name it the “Fear of Exploring Yourself”.

Now I am using the phrase “Exploring Yourself’ as opposed to “Knowing Yourself”. This is for the reason being that different experiences in your life would require a different version of you and one can’t really ‘know themselves’ unless they have undergone all the encounters and life incidences that shape their existence. Exploring oneself would then be a pre-requisite to know your true self.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.” — Marianne Williamson

Deep down inside of us, we all are aware of our light its hidden glory. But its gleam is so bright that we are terrified to embrace it. Instead, we prefer to stand in the distance contemplating, procrastinating, making up excuses and taking solace in the fact that our holy grail is inside of us, within reach, yet unreachable.

We are too scared to dive into that deep ocean, too anxious to unravel and unearth its boundless depths. So we cling to predictability. Certainty and the delusion of control is the only thing that keeps us sane. It is in our very nature to hold on to what is familiar as a way of exercising control over the capriciousness of life. By confirming to others, getting a degree you are not passionate about, getting married, sticking to the job whose satisfaction is worth the paycheque credited every month, we end up shielding ourselves from our magnificence.

Procrastination, perfectionism and not taking risks are the expressions fabricated by someone who is trying to rationalize their avoidance approach for the goals that overwhelm them or burns them with such passion that they are afraid to lose sight of the shores. Yet these burnings are our inner calling that has receded into the depth of our oceans waiting to be discovered.

Logotherapy states that every human contains a will to find meaning and purpose in their life. And those who are aware of this ‘why’ can endure almost any life stressors. The purpose of the existence of human life is not only different for each being, so is the way you stumble upon it. That being said, the sole way to find your motive in life is to explore your true self.

6 Steps to Discover Your True Self

1. Be quiet.

You cannot and will not be able to know yourself until you take the time to be still. Many people don’t know themselves because any sort of silence scares them; it’s too uncomfortable to be alone with every flaw staring back at them. But it isn’t until you get alone, evaluate yourself and are completely truthful with yourself that you will be able to see every facet of your life—the good and the bad. Be quiet and discover your true self.

2. Realize who you truly are, not who you want to be.

I know you already have a set idea of who you desperately want to be, but it might not be who you were designed to be; this is why knowing who you are is so important. When you know who you are, you will finally see where you and your specific gifts fit into the bigger picture.

3. Find what you are good at (and not good at).

This might be the most difficult step in the process of finding who you are, but it’s a necessary one. Sure, it takes trial and error to find what you’re good at, and no, I don’t want you to give up before you’ve had more than enough attempts, but knowing when to quit is a gift that everyone needs to learn.

4. Find what you are passionate about.

Following the passion of any kind is a good thing, and you need to pay attention when it comes because it indicates an area of life that you need to pay more attention to. If we’re talking about following your passion in work, it’s a good thing. And if we’re talking about having more passion for life, it’s a good thing. Focus more on passion; understand yourself in better ways, and you’ll make a bigger impact. Passion produces effort and continuous effort produces results.

5. Ask for feedback.

If you don’t know yourself, hearing what others have to say about you is a helpful practice. Ask them two simple questions: “What strengths do you think I need to develop further?” and “What weaknesses do you think I need to work on?” Of course, their opinion isn’t going to be perfect, but their feedback will probably indicate a few areas you should at least take a second look at. This step is especially important for those who are stuck in finding themselves. Sometimes those closest to us can see something we might not be able to see in ourselves.

6. Assess your relationships.

A large aspect of knowing yourself can be found in your relationships. When you realize you’ll never truly know anyone else until you discover yourself, the importance of knowing yourself becomes even more apparent. This truth especially rings true for business leaders, because if you don’t know the people on your team, then you will be lost as a leader. But this rule also applies to any relationship in your life. Almost as much as you need to know yourself, other people also need to know who you are. People need you—the real you.

Most powerful weapon; our thought

Cognitive abilities like thinking, reasoning and problem-solving may be considered to be some of the chief characteristics which distinguish human beings from other species including the higher animals.

The challenges and problems faced by the individual or by society, in general, are solved through a series of efforts involving thinking and reasoning. The powers of thinking and reasoning may thus be considered to be the essential tools for the welfare and meaningful existence of the individual as well as society.

On this definition, thinking simply equates to conscious cognitive processes. I think this definition is too broad, and we make more scientific and philosophical progress if we tighten it up a bit.

People of a psychodynamic persuasion might even want to talk about “unconscious thinking,” but I think that makes the term so broad as to be quite useless. Of course, there are tremendously important unconscious cognitive processes shaping the way we make sense of the world, but “thinking” seems to me to be quintessentially conscious.

Thinking can be classified as follows:

1. Perceptual or Concrete Thinking:

This is the simplest form of thinking the basis of this type is perception, i.e. interpretation of sensation according to one’s experience. It is also called concrete thinking as it is carried out on the perception of actual or concrete objects and events.

2. Conceptual or Abstract Thinking:

Here one makes use of concepts, the generalized objects and languages, it is regarded as being superior to perceptual thinking as it economizes efforts in understanding and problem-solving.

3. Reflective Thinking:

This type of thinking aims in solving complex problems, thus it requires reorganization of all the relevant experiences to a situation or removing obstacles instead of relating with that experiences or ideas.

This is an insightful cognitive approach in reflective thinking as the mental activity here does not involve the mechanical trial and error type of efforts.

In this type, thinking processes take all the relevant facts arranged in a logical order into an account to solve the problem.

4. Creative Thinking:

This type of thinking is associated with one’s ability to create or construct something new, novel or unusual. It looks for new relationships and associations to describe and interpret the nature of things, events and situations. Here the individual himself usually formulates the evidences and tools for its solution. For example; scientists, artists or inventors.

5. Critical Thinking:

It is a type of thinking that helps a person in stepping aside from his personal beliefs, prejudices and opinions to sort out the faiths and discover the truth, even at the expense of his basic belief system.

Here one resorts to set higher cognitive abilities and skills for the proper interpretation, analysis, evaluation and inference, as well as explanation of the gathered or communicated information resulting in a purposeful unbiased and self-regulatory judgement.

An ideal thinker is habitually inquisitive, well-informed, open-minded, flexible, fair-minded in evaluation, free from personal bias and prejudices, honest in seeking relevant information, skilled in the proper use of the abilities like interpretation, analysis, synthesis, evaluation and drawing conclusion and inferences, etc.

The critical thinking is of a higher order well-disciplined thought process which involves the use of cognitive skills like conceptualization, interpretation, analysis, synthesis and evaluation for arriving at an unbiased, valid and reliable judgment of the gathered or communicated information or data as a guide to one’s belief and action.

6. Non-directed or Associative Thinking:

There are times when we find ourselves engaged in a unique type of thinking which is non-directed and without goal. It is reflected through dreaming and other free-flowing uncontrolled activities. Psychologically these forms of thought are termed as associative thinking.

8 Common Thinking Mistakes Our Brains Make Every Day and How to Prevent Them

1. We surround ourselves with information that matches our beliefs

We tend to like people who think like us. If we agree with someone’s beliefs, we’re more likely to be friends with them. While this makes sense, it means that we subconsciously begin to ignore or dismiss anything that threatens our world views, since we surround ourselves with people and information that confirm what we already think.

2. We believe in the “swimmer’s body” illusion

The “swimmer’s body illusion” occurs when we confuse selection factors with results. Another good example is top-performing universities: are they the best schools, or do they choose the best students, who do well regardless of the school’s influence? Our mind often plays tricks on us and that is one of the key ones to be aware of.

3. We worry about things we’ve already lost

No matter how much I pay attention to the sunk cost fallacy, I still naturally gravitate towards it.

The term sunk cost refers to any cost (not just monetary, but also time and effort) that has been paid already and cannot be recovered. So, a payment of time or money that’s gone forever.

4. We incorrectly predict odds

Imagine you’re playing Heads or Tails with a friend. You flip a coin, over and over, each time guessing whether it will turn up heads or tails. You have a 50/50 chance of being right each time.

5. We believe our memories more than facts

Our memories are highly fallible and plastic. And yet, we tend to subconsciously favour them over objective facts.

6. We pay more attention to stereotypes than we think

The funny thing about lots of these thinking mistakes especially related to memory is that they’re so ingrained, I had to think long and hard about why they’re mistakes at all! This one is a good example—it took me a while to understand how illogical this pattern of thinking is.

Real friends are fake

Every person is a friend until he wants something from you. I thought that real friends are rare but now realised that they never exist. I believed in friendship and was happy to have such friends until a day came. I never thought atleast it in a dream. I was happy being with them untill I became sad.

My friend’s friend became my friend until he became my enemy in an incident. May be I was wrong and may be I might deserve that. I thought of having a good relationship with them until a day then. No one ever tried to console me. They had their priorities until I left with none. I never cried in my under graduation but that pain of being ignored ny your true friends can’t be expressed. The pain of being ignored made me feel more than the pain that left after quarrelling.

There’s no need to share happy moments but it’s important to share your sadness with your friend. A friend should hold us in sadness. I felt alone at that moment and felt being ignored by them. I too tried to fake a friendship with them. But that never existed long. I am not like them. I feel the pain of my sorrow and as well as them. I don’t why I am feeling alone during friendship day. Till yesterday I was ok with what I feel. But all of sudden something happened to me because of my expectations on my friend. Friend never helps it’s we who hope a lot from him. Stop depending on them and start believing in yourself.

I feel like writing more and more because it’s the only thing with whom I can share my feelings. Last year this day was different. I completely believed in friendship. May be its due to my bitter experiences in life made me so. Hope someday someone make me feel what true friendship is. I don’t know why am I feeling like this that too this day. I never felt to cry while writing because I quit writing while I am about to cry. But this sorrow is making me to write more and more so as to minimise my sadness. I was always alone and felt as though I had got everything I needed untill then. Everyone will feel the same at some saturated point in your life. Friendship ends sooner or later. It’s you or the person on the other side had to leave a thread and make you fall like thug of war.

It’s not what I wrote it’s what I felt. So never try to have expectations because till yesterday bI was fine till I started thinking. If you wanna hold fake friendships then start being fake because no one gonna make you feel happy when you are sad. I am the victim of my own expectations.

Judge yourself

Don’t give advice because people never listen. Did you listen to someone? If yes you are lying. If you listen to someone then you will never advice someone. If you don’t listen to someone then you will always prefer to advice the advice you got.

My suggestion is you never listen to other suggestions because it remains as a suggestion. But you have to listen to my suggestion of you don’t want to listen others suggestion. People cannot accept the fact of denying their capacity. Accept your worth if you wanna improve your skills.

Atleast be honest with yourself because it’s you with whom you have to spent rest of your life. Accept yourself and try to keep on improving. If you wanna improve them listen to yourself. You are the only judge who can make right choice. Listen to your advice and make yourself out of it. Never betray yourself and try to fix the things that you wanna fix. Make yourself by listening to yourself.
