Qualcomm plans to launch an exciting new feature for Android users

Qualcomm Snapdragon has been on a roll lately. Various devices are being launched in India daily that have 5G capability. The new device is getting positive reviews due to its efficiency and good performance. As a result, Snapdragon chipsets in mobile devices are getting positive feedback.

This year Snapdragon is preparing to launch new features on its flagship chipset. One of those features is satellite communication. Recently, some devices have been launched with the current flagship chipset Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

It has also been revealed that the devices that have the flagship chipset will have satellite communication features. The feature will enable people to communicate in areas where there is a weak or no mobile network.

The new chipsets are blurring the lines between what a smartphone can do and what it cannot do. The new features that are being introduced in the latest and the most eye catchy devices are noteworthy. The implementation of Qualcomm chipsets in various devices like smartwatches, and even laptops are making it more relevant that Snapdragon is going global in every way. The new devices that have Snapdragon chipsets already do have a great battery life that is making the Snapdragon a better choice for device manufacturers.

Other than that, it is also facing stiff competition from Media Tek. There is also some serious heat from the likes of Apple, who are now trying to manufacture chipsets for their devices. The same has been the case with Google which now has its chipset for the Pixel line of mobile devices. Samsung is another company which already has a chipset for the devices. There are other Chinese manufacturers also like Huawei that also have chipsets for their devices. So, competition is tough for Snapdragon.

The chipset is also gaining importance due to the popularity of electric vehicles and the implementation of internet-related services in various vehicles. This is also creating a lot of buzz in the chip market and is also increasing demand for chips.

Shortly, there is also a rumour that Apple will move away from Qualcomm chips. This is also bad news for Qualcomm, as Apple is one the biggest users of its modems on Apple devices. In the future, if the trend goes on then Qualcomm will have to rethink its business strategy. It is because all the companies will probably have their chip for their respective devices.

The devices in the future will need chips. Qualcomm, being a major chip manufacturer, needs to stick to its position, if it wants to stay relevant in the field. The implementation of 5G and 6G in quick succession, and that of many other technological revolutions is making it dissect for such big companies to implement such changes so quickly.

Now, we will have to wait for a few years before we can see the effect Qualcomm will have on the 5G and the 6G network era. The new networks are going to bring new challenges for Snapdragon. So, these steps may bring along good results for Qualcomm.

Apple prepares physical stores in India

Apple has been able to get the attention of Indian customers for a long time. But they are yet to make their presence in the physical form among the people. The pandemic also slowed the plans for any physical expansion of the company in India.

Now, as the pandemic is under control so Apple is going to open its physical stores in various cities in India. It is not yet clear which cities will get the iconic store. But it is speculated that the journey of physical Apple stores will start from Delhi and Mumbai.

These stores will have all the features and facilities which are present in their stores worldwide. The stores are likely to open to the general public this year. This news is also relevant from the fact the hiring for the stores has already going on LinkedIn. The store was previously planned to open in 2021.

But now, the stores will remove a big problem for the company as they will directly sell the products to the customers. It will also remove the dependence on third-party stores that are currently selling Apple products.

Recently, there have also been some recent developments for Apple iPhone users. Those who are planning to get their battery replaced will have to pay more if their device is older than iPhone 14. So, iPhone repair will cost more for a few. On the other hand, there is also increased pressure from governments of various countries that electronic devices need to have a common charging technique. In the case of smartphones, it is USB type-C. At first, the EU declared to the world that smartphones, tablets and laptops will have USB type-C charging. Later on, India also declared that devices will have USB type-C. But Apple is in conflict as most of its devices have a lightning USB cable.

Along with all of the above, there is also speculation that there will be no iPhone SE in 2023. This news does not come as a surprise as Apple has been launching the compact version of its iPhone at irregular intervals.

But there is excitement around the next iteration of iPhones as they will bring about some new changes for the users. The device will likely be accompanied by a new version of iOS along with some other gadgets. The new gadgets may include AirPods, iPad and even MacBooks.

All of the above changes are making the year ahead look good for Apple users. The new year looks promising for Apple on paper, but we will have to wait for the annual Apple event to get to know more about the devices and the software changes that the existing iPhone users will receive. The hardware changes will not be major in the new iPhones, but the changes will enhance the experience of the users.  Most interesting will be to see what Apple does to the charging port problem which is bound to be followed by the mod-2025 in many major countries. Along with that Apple will also eagerly wait for the response for users towards brick-and-mortar stores.

Apple cancels the next iPhone SE

Apple has been trying to woe the customers who love the small form – factor for quite some time now. The company has also launched some small iPhones. But the effect has been very minimal on the minds of the users. The devices are also not selling in high – numbers. So, Apple generally reduces the production of its SE models after a few days of its launch. Similar was the case when Apple launched the iPhone the last time around.

But now there is speculation that Apple is not going to launch the successor of its SE in 2024. This is because the device has not able to get profits for the company until now. The device has also served as a testing track for the company when it comes to network modems. So, this is a kind of good news for companies like Qualcomm, which has been able to partner with Apple as a modem supplier until now.

The SE models have been in the limelight for nostalgia reasons. The devices have generally been used by those who love the form factor or are not comfortable with big-size screens. The device has nothing inferior when compared to its bigger counterparts. The SE devices also have powerful hardware and can do all the powerful stuff which you expect from an iPhone device. Even the support for such devices is like other iPhones. The device also has bells and whistles and even supports the latest tech that Apple launches for its flagship iPhones.

The iPhone SE have been launched previously on an arbitrary gap of time. There is no regular launch of the iPhone SE right from the beginning. The second iteration of the iPhone SE was launched 4 years after the first one. The third one was launched 2 years after the second version. So, there is not even an approximate timeline that when the next iteration of the iPhone SE will be launched.

For the unknown, the iPhones will have a tough time for the next few years. It is because governments in various countries are implementing universal charging rules for various handheld devices. Even iPhones are included in the list of devices facing the blunt. But Apple is raising concerns about this as it says that there will be a large amount of electronic waste in the form of lightning cables that users are currently using with their devices, as they will upgrade their iPhones.

Now, there is confusion that what will happen to the charging option in an iPhone. There is also increasing demand for the 14 Pro model and the difficulty in keeping the price down for the SE model is making the cancellation legit.

Now, we will have to wait and see until the next few years, until the launch of a new generation of SE models. The next generation of devices will clear up the air about the future of the small and compact iPhones. In the meantime, Apple will launch some new products for users every year.

Everything We Know About 2021 iPhones!

Apple launches new series of smartphones every year and in a couple of months, Apple is going to launch a brand-new series of iPhones that by far known as the iPhone 13. But we can’t trust the naming process as after iPhone 8 we directly got the iPhone X series. Also, there are rumors that they will launch the new series as iPhone 12s but more chances are for the name iPhone 13. Well, this we’ll get to know at the time of the launch event.

Coming back to the point, like previous year this year also Apple will launch four iPhones; the budget ones namely iPhone 13mini and iPhone 13, and the pro models namely iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. Although Apple didn’t get much profit from the iPhone 12mini the previous year, they are willing to launch the iPhone 13mini anyway. Talking about the launch date, if everything goes well Apple will launch the new series of iPhones by the 14th of September.

What changes Apple is going to make in its upcoming iPhone series?

Any major design changes are not expected as Apple has done a major design change the previous year. According to Analysts, rumors, and leaks, we can expect camera improvements, a smaller notch, a faster processor (A15), an improved 5G chip, and increased battery life. Apple is also expected to introduce 120Hz rates for the Pro models. This year also, Apple will not replace the lightning port with a USB-C port.

According to the Japanese site Mac Otakara, iPhone 13 models will be the same size as the iPhone 12 models, but the thickness will increase by 0.26mm. The iPhone 13 models will be slightly heavy than the iPhone 12 models because of the battery improvement.  Also, we’ll see a diagonal camera set up in the 2021 iPhones.

Although there are rumors that Apple will introduce completely portless models, in-display fingerprint scanners, and an always-on display, these updates are likely to be introduced in future models.

Till now, this is all we know about the 2021 iPhones. Disclaimer; all the details mentioned above are according to the leaks, rumors, and analysts. Though I’m happy to say that the wait very soon is going to be over for Apple fans and technology geeks. And the launch of the new iPhones will be a great opportunity for those who have a slightly low budget and want to buy an iPhone and experience iOS because after the launch prices will decrease for the previous models.

Apple products are known for their quality, reliability, performance, and customer satisfaction. Let’s see if the 2021 iPhones will be up to the mark.

iPhone

The iPhone is a line of touchscreen-based smartphones designed and marketed by Apple Inc. that use Apple’s iOS mobile operating system. The first-generation iPhone was announced by Apple co-founder Steve Jobs on January 9, 2007. Since then Apple has annually released new iPhone models and iOS updates. As of November 1, 2018, more than 2.2 billion iPhones had been sold.

The iPhone’s user interface is built around a multi-touch screen with a virtual keyboard. The iPhone connects to cellular networks or Wi-Fi, and can make calls, browse the web, take pictures, play music and send and receive emails and text messages. Since the iPhone’s launch further features have been added, including larger screen sizes, shooting video, waterproofing and the ability to install third-party mobile apps through an app store, as well as accessibility support. Up to 2017, iPhones used a layout with a single button on the front panel that returns the user to the home screen. Since 2017, more expensive iPhone models have switched to a nearly bezel-less front screen design with app switching activated by gesture recognition.

The first-generation iPhone was described as “revolutionary” and a “game-changer” for the mobile phone industry and subsequent models have also garnered praise. The iPhone has been credited with popularizing the smartphone and slate form factor, and with creating a large market for smartphone apps, or “app economy”. As of January 2017, Apple’s App Store contained more than 2.2 million applications for the iPhone.

The iPhone is one of the two largest smartphone platforms in the world alongside Google’s Android, forming a large part of the luxury market. The iPhone has generated large profits for Apple, making it one of the world’s most valuable publicly traded companies.

Development of what was to become the iPhone began in 2004, when Apple started to gather a team of 1,000 employees (including Jonathan Ive, the designer behind the iMac and iPod) to work on the highly confidential “Project Purple.” Apple CEO Steve Jobs steered the original focus away from a tablet (which Apple eventually revisited in the form of the iPad) towards a phone. Apple created the device during a secretive collaboration with Cingular Wireless (which became AT & T Mobility) at the time – at an estimated development cost of US $ 150 million over thirty months.

According to Steve Jobs, the “i” word in “iMac” (and therefore “iPod”, “iPhone” and “iPad”) stands for internet, individual, instruct, inform, and inspire.

Apple rejected the “design by committee” approach that had yielded the Motorola ROKR E1, a largely unsuccessful collaboration with Motorola. Among other deficiencies, the ROKR E1’s firmware limited storage to only 100 iTunes songs to avoid competing with Apple’s iPod nano.

Apple Incorporation is an American multinational corporation that has been successful all over the world. The brand has gained popularity, visibility and loyalty of its customers over the years and still goes strong even when it has tough competitors. Apple has many products under its umbrella that includes Mac, iPhone, iPad, iPod, Apple TV etc.

The brand has a nice market that caters to people who look for products that define luxury, utility and class at the same time. The most popular product of Apple is iPhone and is among the most desirable gadgets of all age group. The reason behind the success of iPhone :

• Advertising : Early ad campaigns with tag lines like ‘say hello to iPhone’ that launched the product to ‘think different’ every tagline has been designed to tap the audience’s need for a unique and stylish product.

• Price : The brand has never shy away from presenting itself a brand with high price range but having said that it has clearly justified its price with high class features that the iPhone offers and therefore once the customers buy this product they turn into ‘blind loyal’ to the brand.

• Variants : The iPhone offers a series of products that majorly varies in device storage. In any series of iPhone you have options available like 4GB, 16GB, 32GB etc. for instance Apple iPhone 4 series offer multiple choice to its customers like iPhone 4 8Gb, iPhone 4S 16Gb etc. and accordingly the price varies.

The Latest :

The brand has made a buzz all over the market by launching the most awaited Apple iPhone 5. The company also promised to offer 4G cellular service to its customers. With the launch of the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C simultaneously, Apple set the new record for first-weekend smart phone sales as it sold over nine million devices in the first three days of its launch. The iPhone 5 series comes with extra ordinary features like body made from single piece of machined aluminum, mirror finish, finely textured, smooth edges, and sapphire crystal camera cover.

Apple catches TikTok reading user clipboards; won’t do now, says Chinese app

Chinese short-video-making app TikTok has announced it will no longer automatically access user clipboards on Apple iPhones after iOS 14 in Beta exposed the app’s constant reading of user clipboards.

TikTok told The Telegraph that it would stop “snooping on users’ clipboards after iPhone update showed app constantly reads copied text”.

“A security patch from Apple has suddenly exposed just how many smartphone apps are reading users’ clipboards every time they are on screen,” said the report.

In iOS 14 Beta, one of these features is a new banner alert that lets users know if an app is pasting from the clipboard.

This has exposed the behaviour of some popular apps like TikTok as annoyed users who upgraded to iOS 14 Beta went on social media with such complaints.

“For TikTok, this was triggered by a feature designed to identify repetitive, spammy behaviour. We have already submitted an updated version of the app to the App Store removing the anti-spam feature to eliminate any potential confusion,” the Chinese company said in a statement.

According to the report, other apps that read the iOS clipboard include AccuWeather, Call of Duty Mobile and even Google News.

iOS 14 is limited to developers now and the company plans to release a public beta version next month ahead of the launch later this year.

In iOS 14, all apps will now be required to obtain user permission before tracking.

Later this year, App Store product pages will feature summaries of developers’ self-reported privacy practices, displayed in a simple, easy-to-understand format.
