The rise of Web series,episodic video entertainment produced for the internet and mobile devices and look into the motivations of their creators which first emerged in the late 1990s and became more prominent in the early 2000s.

  In early days Individuals had to watch their favourite shows on Television with time barriers and even with a trauma of missing shows because there were no any features that can recap or replay the missed episodes.But Nowadays it’s became easy to resume or play any show anywhere that are broadcasting on websites.An individual can access for their entertainment ,interest and for their spending time.Individuals make up over 70% of the population of India,and the majority of them use the Internet.The new generation’s tendency is now using the internet.Due to the tendency of young people to become addicted to social Media,web series are easily produced and are becoming more and more popular in India.

   On these platforms individuals can watch their favourite and interest based series, movies and episodes that inspires one whether they want to watch episode to episode or binge-watching.

Binge-watch– The practice of watching content like streaming services for a long time span, usually a single series or show.

In India it’s going fastest in this field of watching Web Series/Shows. In this context Hum log, India’s first series, debuted in 1984-1985 and ran for 154 episodes,making it the longest series in India history at the time of its finale. A 60 million strong audience watched it. The last episode lasted approximately for 55 minutes,while each episode lasted around 25 minutes.

And now web series have become more popular as it provides all types of entertainment and the majority of the series at the end leave some moral for the viewers. It has the chance to “go viral” by being viewed online and by people all over the world. It also has the potential to be “picked up,” or given a distribution deal, by well-known TV and film studios. There have been numerous web series awarded their own television shows.

FACT Devices; Statcom and it’s working

FACT is an abbreviation for Flexible AC transmission system. A system composed of static equipment used for the alternating current (AC) transmission of electrical energy. It is generally a power electronics based system.

Series compensation – In this we connect the fact devices in series with power system. Here, the line impedance is modified, that means net impedance is decreased and increasing the transmittable active power.

Shunt compensation – It is used to improve the power factor. In this we connect the fact devices in parallel with power system. It also works as a controllable for the current source. Eg- Statcom (Static synchronous Compensator) and SVC (Static VAR compensator). They are further classified into two types –

  1. Shunt capacitive compensation: This method is used to improve the power factor. Whenever an inductive load is connected to the transmission line, power factor lags because of lagging load current. To compensate, a shunt capacitor is connected, which draws the current leading to the source voltage. The net result is an improvement in power factor.
  2. Shunt inductive compensation: This method is used either when charging the transmission line, or when there is a very low load at the receiving end. Because of very low, or no load–very low current flows through the transmission line. Shunt capacitance in the transmission line causes voltage amplification (Ferranti effect). The receiving end voltage may become double the sending end voltage (generally in case of very long transmission lines). To compensate, shunt inductors are connected across the transmission line. 

A few advantages of FACT devices are:
• Helps in improving power transfer capability
• Used for transient and dynamic stability improvement.
• Used for damping of power system oscillations.
• For better voltage regulation.
• For flexible operation and control of the system.

What is a Statcom?

The STATCOM (or SSC) is a shunt-connected reactive-power compensation device that can generate and/ or absorbing reactive power and in which we can vary the output to control the specific parameters of an electric power system. It is a solid-state switching converter capable of generating or absorbing independently controllable real and reactive power at its output terminals when it is fed from an energy source or energy-storage device at its input terminals.Voltage-source converter that, from an input of the voltage, produces a set of 3-phase AC-output voltages, each in phase with and coupled to the corresponding AC system voltage through a relatively small reactance.

How does a statcom work?

Now suppose we have a load connected to the grid; the load takes the power as P + jQ, where P is active power and Q is reactive power. Now we have to make the Q= 0. So that the power factor is always unity (PF = 1). For that, we connect statcom at the load, so that the reactive power is supplied by the statcom and active power is given by the Grid. This is how a statcom works for reactive power compensation.

Review: The Big Bang Theory

The Big Bang Theory, an American sitcom was a hit. It has achieved 8.1/10 on IMDb and 81% on Rotten Tomatoes. Its first episode aired in 2007 and had successfully completed 12 seasons.
The story is based on two physicists who work at the lab in Caltech, Pasadena. Sheldon Cooper who is a theoretical physicist, is one in a generation type of genius. He is a germophobe, introvert ,quirky and wierd person. He is a double PhD and wishes to win a nobel prize one day.
Leonard Hoffstader who is a colleague, bestfriend and roommate of Sheldon, fits in the ‘good guy’ stereotype. He is also a PhD but has emotional issues as his mother didn’t shower love to him in his childhood. He is also wierd but sensible. Until Penny moves in the apartment across the hall and leonard instantly thinks about how their childern will be both goodlooking and intelligent.
Penny moves from Omaha to become an actress and works at the cheesecake factory for a living.
Sheldon and Leonard are also friends with their colleagues Howard Wolowits and Raj Koothrapali.
Howard is an engineer from MIT and lives with his mom. Whereas Raj has moved from India and is an astrophysicist. He is very rich but can’t talk to women unless under the influence of alcohol.
These four friends always do various activities together like play online video games, play dungeons and dragons, visit the comic book store and also go for paintball fight.
Leonard and penny date each other but their relationship has many ups and downs throughout the seasons, until they are happily married.
Penny sets up Howard with her friend Bernadette who is small, beautiful girl with a high pitched voice.
Also, one day Howard and Raj makes an online dating profile of Sheldon to piss him off but instead he meets Amy Farrah Fowler, an introvert, intelligent and wierd neuro scientist who blows off Sheldon’s mind.
Sheldon who always puts labels on everything including the lable maker, does not let anyone sit in his spot, who thinks he’s the only genius person, follows a very particular routine for everything including a particular place they are supposed to eat, and just pisses everyone off with his behavior, which is the starlight of the show.
The show was sometimes shot with live audience and all the scientific things said or written on the show were absolutely correct. The show also got attention because of so many celebrity cameos, including that of Stephan Hawking, Elon Musk, Leonard Nimoy, Will Wheaton, Stan Lee, Bob Newhart and James Earl Jones.
The sitcom shows the ‘Nerd Culture’. Showcasing what introverts go through. Also it has some very powerful positive concepts, where penny and Bernadette earn more than their husbands who are much more educated and still this thing doesn’t bother the male ego. And no matter how much Sheldon get on the nerves of everyone, they know he isn’t hurting them intentionally and so they understand him and love him with all his flaws, just how good friends should do. A good group of friends makes life much more tolerable.
Lastly the Scientific theories, use of technology, games, are very informative. Besides watching the sitcom, its beneficial for our personal growth and knowledge. 

‘ DARK ‘ Season-3 Theories

Season 3 of Netflix’s Dark is releasing on 27th June, and the anticipation is rising. The time-bending series dropped an explosive cliffhanger at the end of season 2, which left us with a whole lot of questions. Considering how confusing the show is anyway, adding an alternate dimension was just icing on the cake. There are some theories which will leave us with  more questions than answers floating around about what happens in the final season  – check it out.

1. Winden will be removed from the timeline entirely.

Considering this is the final cycle, and the intangible knot of timelines has gotten far beyond anyone’s control, something drastic is required. Some people have posited that the town of Winden, which is at the centre of this unholy mess, will be obliterated entirely.

2.The world that alternate Martha comes from is the ‘world without time’ that Adam has been trying to create.

We don’t exactly know everything that Adam has been up to during his timeline, only the bits and pieces that we get during other people’s interactions with him. Mainly, we know he wants to create a world without time . If Adam succeeds in a part of his timeline we haven’t seen yet, then this other world would already exist, because it exists outside of time. This might be where alternate Martha comes from.

3. Helge Doppler has an injured eye in the new trailer, meaning it’s probably him from the alternate dimension.

In the dimension we’re familiar with, Helge has a ear injury (due to Ulrich, If I remember correctly). However, in the new trailer, there’s a shot of Helge with an injured eye , meaning it’s definitely alt-Helge, from the new Martha’s world.

4. Martha is Jonas’ replacement in the other world, as he does not even exist there. There’s even a shot of her wearing Jonas’ yellow coat.

According to Old Claudia, she’s seen the world without Jonas, which means he was probably never born in the alternate world. In that world, Martha lives Jonas’ life.

5. The shot of Stranger/Jonas working on a God Particle in the past could mean he’s accepted his role in founding Sic Mundus and ultimately becoming Adam.

The Stranger, from the post-apocalypse version is shown in the trailer working on a God Particle machine in the distant past under the church.

This could mean he’s decided to follow the path to becoming Adam.

6. The pendant Jonas found near the lake in 2019 belonged to Hannah , who was drowned there by someone while stuck in the 1950s.

In a photo of the filming of 3 season, Hannah has a pendant around her neck, which Jonas found on the lake in 2019. Bartoz spoke of the legend of a dead woman on the lake that grabs people by the legs. It is possible that Katharina, wanting revenge, murdered Hannah while they were both in the 50s.

7. It is theorised that the new trio seen in the trailer is made up of the real Aleksander Tiedemann, or an alt-world Mads Nielsen.

The kid who plays Mads and the child seen in the trailer, burning shit up like a pro, bear a striking resemblance. Similarly, the resemblance between Aleksander and the character seen is also quite notable. Considering his strange and unexplained history in the show, it’s a possibility.

8. Time moves backwards in the alternate world, and everything there goes in reverse.

There are 2 examples of this in the trailer – one is where Jonas is running backwards, and another is of Martha crying and tears going up her eyes. However, that is quite an impractical scenario, so let’s see.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned though, it’s that this show is always ready to surprise you, no matter how many theories you read online. So let’s wait and watch!
