Social Media- A Boon or Bane?

The most common sites nowadays in homes as well as at public spaces are people with their necks bent and eyes focused on the screen of their mobile phones. Though not the only but a major portion of the screen time is devoted to the social media applications like Facebook, WhatsApp or Instagram. The invention of social media is considered to be a blessing as it has enabled us to overcome the greatest barrier to communication- distance. We can now chat with our friends or relatives thousands of kilometers apart in a matter of seconds. But we often tend to overlook the vices associated with social media. It has been found in several studies that excess use of social media is linked with higher levels of anxiety and depression.

Focusing first on the brighter side, the apps like Instagram and Facebook have provided a platform for the unheard to speak. The marginalized and the minority section, whose views are often suppressed by the mainstream media, is able to mobilize the public opinion by using the social media. With family members moving apart nowadays due to jobs or studies, using these applications the people can still keep in touch without bearing the humungous bills of the telecom services. Also newer job opportunities have also accompanied with the social media, the most remarkable being that of the content creators. If nothing, social media has become the best pastime for people especially the younger generation (who get easily bored of anything except Instagram).

Now coming to the part which is less often appreciated adequately by people. The social media usage has significant adverse affects on our mental health and wellbeing. These apps have become platforms for social comparison, the people inculcate a feeling of inferiority complex seeing the ones who are better off in looks, wealth etc. Another stressor on social media is the “social currency” in terms of likes, comments and shares which have introduced a number game for judging the person. Seeing others being a part of an event or an opportunity also causes FOMO which is actual social anxiety of being missed out. The menace of online harassment has come into significance too.

The social media in itself is neither good nor bad, rather just a tool to communicate. The dark side of social media is actually nothing but the dark side of the humans. What is required is actually the audit of our social diet i.e. what we see on social media. The duality of appearance and reality should be kept in mind and we should rationally analyze the content we watch on these platforms. It is the same Facebook and Instagram that can tear you up, harming your mental health as well as lift you up, having an actual LOL! It’s upto us what we want to chose.

Drinking water, or soluble chemicals.

Water, you might have known it’s value, when your are thirsty but out of water. we nearly feel like to be gonna die. For, traditional Indians, you might known it’s value when you experience sudden cutoff of water supply ,in bathroom. All of us take this important thing for granted, but if once water wants to escape from us, the screams of 1.3 billion bangs the whole world. You may wonder, why only Indians scream …….ok, before you wanna know about it, also think ; Is your drinking water safe?, hey!..don’t tell that, i’m alright from the time i have born, no problem with drinking water.

Here, i just would like to bring up some most fundamental aspects of our life, i wanna recall we aren’t so much safe and being effected by things, but we never realize until they blasts a bomb in our life. One such is, drinking water; seems to be pure in color, no visible dust particles to our naked eye, but they have already been carrying invisible toxic substances with it, and ready to destroy us slowly after getting inside of us. Most of you might not care this, and stamps this as a boring story, but never forget; your taking some chemicals at every time you have a sip, and leaving your organs as a playground for the toxics that have gone inside you, along with the water you intake.

You better know the water sewage infrastructure in india, even some have been setup for namesake. So, the only option left for us to take care of ourselves. we cannot stop the flow of untreated chemicals and industrial waste into water. sometimes, There rises a campaigns and goes to sleep within no time.

Then, how to get a solution for this problem and to have a safe drinking water. The one thing is to setup water treatment plants by forming as a community, or to use water purifiers at home, leaving no space to compromise with it’s quality, Just even getting into debt; in long run saves you from unsolvable threats. But the bitter fact is, the cost of water purification is too high. But sadly we were pretending to believe the low level mechanisms and being fooled. One such example is, at rural areas or some public water suppliers , can get a 10 litres of water for just 2 rupees, whereas the premium water brands like tata provides the purified mineral water bottle of 1 litre for 20 rupees. This scenario can make us understand , how we are being pretended that low filtered water as mineral. The looters have just redefined the meaning of name itself.

we have been facing many health issues, one of the most important is, elders are facing problems regarding bone strength and losing immunity at very mid ages. This was an indirect effect of consuming water, because there is a clear picture of releasing pollutants from industries into water, but we confine ourself it might be because of age. This gonna definitely show impact on generations, if not resolved our life span keeps on reducing untill we open our eyes.

There is a huge need for communities to come forward and have awareness about the fundamental thing of our life, and come up with a feasible solutions.

Drugs: Dependency to Despondency

Today when you Google the definition of DRUGS, you come across a chemical, used as medicine, although illegal, taken by people to feel pleasant and excited feelings. And somewhere defined as stressbuster to deal with anxiety. Is it so? To answer it let’s look at an case;

Some time back, a friend of Shruti died tragically young. He was a pillar of the community, and Shruti was honored to learn that he wanted her to play oboe [an instrument] at his memorial service which would be attended by hundreds of people. Although Shruti had performed in countless concerts filled with thousands of people, but the thought of performing at funeral of such an honored man was nerve cracking compounded with the fact she herself going to mourn for her friend. But in the end, she was able to gather up the courage to play beautifully and received dozens of compliments after performing. Her one friend asked about how she handled her nerves. She honestly told him that she just didn’t know and just hope for the best. In contrary to this, he said for such high pressure performances, he always uses beta blocker- a prescription medication for clinical anxiety.

But certainly we wouldn’t even faulted Shruti if she had sought out for such prescription of drug when she learned about her friend request to perform at his funeral. It’s an exceptional situation and if some medication could help, wouldn’t be it better for all concerned. But if musicians routinely depend upon such for every performance where would it stop? Should we even prescribe such medications to students who have their studies and career pressure? What if a professor says he/she needs to take modafinil [a drug] to overcome stress and for pacing his/her career? Where will it going to end? One’s occasional boost might become chemical dependency in near future.

What if everyone was taking the pills to keep up their pace and the one who restrained to such, wouldn’t it be cheating to such person? Definitely, yes. The main problem youth today deals because of their prospective. They believe that drugs aren’t causing any harm rather they make them feel better but deep inside its true that their happiness for today will be their addiction tomorrow. Even if drugs with ‘no side effects’ are made, after sometime their primary usage purpose gonna become their side effects in form of dependency. You are going to take that pill for every task, that dependency itself is the side effect.

Imagine a scenario where there are no side effects associated with usage of drugs, cognitive and physical both, so we really improve our efficiency or we even work more than others. Then, Think of what we accomplish! If a person’s life becomes all work, no down time, no relaxation, no stress, no interactions, ever I’m not so sure that’s a life even worth living? It changes your whole personality and even disturbs routine with impacting your caliber. And you may not be even in position of realizing it.

WHO WILL DECIDE THE IDEAL AGE

Many girls who are married off before they turn 18 or are forced into early marriages are made to leave school, depriving them of their right to education and future independence. Child brides are also more likely to experience domestic violence.
Because young girls who are married off are more likely to have children while still physically immature, they are at higher risk of dying from pregnancy and childbirth complications, and their babies have a reduced chance of survival too, according to the World Health Organization.

Child brides who have children may also be psychologically unprepared and ill-equipped to become mothers at such a young age. By robbing girls of a chance to learn, grow, and fully realize their potential, child marriage systematically disempowers them. It ensures that they remain dependent on others all their lives, strips them of their agency, makes them vulnerable to abuse, and can trap them in a cycle of poverty. In cultures that do not see girls and women as potential wage earners, they’re may be considered a financial burden to the family. In these cases, families living in poverty who have several children may arrange a marriage for their child to reduce their economic burden: One less daughter to take care of means one less mouth to feed and one less education to pay for. Girls may also married off to offset debts or settle conflicts, effectively acting as a substitute for money.
Both early teen marriage and dropping out of high school have historically been associated with a variety of negative outcomes, including higher poverty rates throughout life. Are these negative outcomes due to pre-existing differences, or do they represent the causal effect of marriage and schooling choices? The negative outcomes associated with early marriage and dropping out of high school have the potential to affect not only the individual making the decision but also her children and the rest of society. For example, a high divorce rate combined with low wages and a larger family size increases the number of children living in poverty and receiving state assistance. Prime minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of 74th Independence Day while addressing the nation, stated that a committee had been set up to reconsider the minimum age for marriage of girls. While every decision has its consequences, this too has its own. The change in law seems like a good initiative and would bring about change, but, not everything is all rainbows. The decision has split the government as for some; it sounds like a step to reduce malnutrition, control the population and increase education amongst women; for others, it gets the sums wrong. Some believe that it would help women to exercise legal powers incase of marriage below the age of 21. Others ween that this would increase the number of child marriages as girls getting married between the age group 18-21 would add to the number of child brides. Continuing the argument, it is also evident that premarital sex is just as much of a taboo as sex education in India. Thus, reconsidering the minimum age for marriage of girls is feared to deny unmarried pregnant teenagers to get proper healthcare facilities.

TO THE CLASS OF 2020

College Graduation is a huge milestone in anyone’s life. College graduation is one of life’s last clean transitions, a final passage from adolescence to adulthood that is predictable in ways other transitions rarely are. Relationships end with breakups or death, jobs often end with quitting or firing, but college is one of the only things in life that ends with a fresh start. Except when it doesn’t. College graduation is often marked by an adjustment period, as students leave the comforts of campus to find their way in the raw wilderness of the job market. But this year’s graduates are staggering into a world that is in some ways unrecognizable. But graduating in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic will have enduring implications on the Class of 2020: for their memories, their earning power, and their view of what it means to have a functional society. For these young adults, the pandemic represents not just a national crisis but also a defining moment.Even when colleges are trying their best to give students a memorable farewell, an event that they have looked forward to during their college years many don’t know if they will ever have a chance at bidding their crucial years a heartfelt goodbye. The end of college marks an important turn in the lives of students, who are finally eager to carve a place in the world. The farewell is an important milestone in this journey as everything culminates to this very day. Even before COVID-19, the Class of 2020 came of age at a time of fear and uncertainty. Born largely in 1997 and 1998—among the oldest of Gen Z—the Class of 2020. For the Class of 2020, COVID-19’s lasting impact may be determined by what happens next. If the rising cohort of young workers are left to fend for themselves, mass youth unemployment could lead to permanent disillusionment or widespread despair.

A forceful, effective response that invests in the rising generation of American talent could restore their faith in the system.
It’s not clear to the Class of 2020 how the pandemic will play out. They just know it will change their livesThe Class of 2020 hugged their closest friends and mourned their lost semester, but scattered back home without so much as a goodbye to many people they’d lived with for years. Acquaintances who laughed in hallways or shared inside jokes in seminars simply disappeared. Fraternities and sororities canceled their formals and philanthropy events, attempting Zoom happy hours that didn’t come close to the real thing. For some couples, casual hookups quickly escalated into long-distance relationships. Others quietly packed up their feelings for college crushes and left without saying a word. Instead of graduating into their future lives, many Class of 2020 seniors feel like they’ve gone backward. Graduating into a bad economy can affect everything from future earnings to long-term health and happiness. All of this—the forgone memories, the abrupt goodbyes, the lost opportunities—will stay with the Class of 2020 forever. They know that the pandemic will shape their futures, even if it’s not yet clear exactly how. The pandemic has marked the end of one phase for this unlucky cohort. The recovery could mark the beginning of another.

Skills or Job what is more important

we always tend to ignore this topic ,everyone is worrying about getting the job but there are very few people that actually focus on the skills. I have seen people just focusing on getting job, whether they are interested or not on the particular profile they just apply without even seeing the job profile. I know Job is important but knowledge is more important,People nowadays fails to understand this simple difference.

Okay! let us understand this, why there is unemployment in India because nobody wants to pay a person who don’t possess knowledge or skill set. There are 100 of engineering colleges in our country.Ever wonder why they are not getting jobs, because students do not focus on practical knowledge they do not focus on what they actually know,If i say i am engineer but i do not know how to solve simple mathematical equation who will hire me?. Even students with more than 8 cg pa are not getting jobs the reason is they just mug up the things and get marks. So just getting marks is not important you must have that skill on your hand.

I have seen students of my batch cheating in order to clear the first round of any campus drive they believe if they will clear the first round they will eventually clear all the rounds and get hired but they totally fails to understand that when you cheat in any exam whether it is for job or anything you are cheating with yourself you are not accepting the fact that you do not know this skill instead focus on gaining knowledge if you will have knowledge any company will hire you.Companies focus on your problem solving abilities work on projects get that skill and then apply.

It mostly happens during on campus drives that students cheats and become so desperate in getting jobs just because there friends are getting placed but they do not sit and understand that this is not the solution focus on what you do not know think for solutions that where you are lacking. But instead they become desperate they sit on any drive even if it is paying less with 2 years of bond, just think settling for less just because you are desperate is not the solution. Think getting 3 lac per year living in a metropolitan city will do no good, you would not save enough money to provide support to your family and moreover you will be stuck for 2 years there will be no development and no skill.

The most important thing if you cheat and get hired what will you do in the training session, companies tests your knowledge then you will be kicked out and here you are with no knowledge, no job and no confidence.

so focus on yourself even if your friends are getting jobs,do not become insecure set your goal for big instead work on your skill set, if you say i m a content writer showcase your work do internship regarding that.If you are from engineering department work on projects showcase that on linked in, Hr’s are searching for talents through linked in if your work is good they will approach you.

Again just run after knowledge not after money.Money will come if you have knowledge, otherwise you will end up nowhere. So skills set is the most important thing you can have Think big!!.

First impressions: Upcoming IPO of LIC

On the 1st February of the year, Govt released the budget for the year 2020 including various points and some new things to kick start. One of the major news was about the disinvestment of the LIFE INSURANCE CORPORATION. The government has decided to give an Initial Public Offering for his stake of some of its holdings. LIC was established in 1956 which is fully owned by the Govt. of India. “Listing on the stock exchanges disciplines the company, provides access to financial markets and unlocks value,” Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said in her Budget 2020 speech. “It also gives an opportunity for retail investors to take part in the wealth so created.”

LIC has total assets and costs is around 36 lakh crores. This IPO plays a major role in Finance of India for this. After the COVID-19 situation, this becomes the most important yet vulnerable in equity market case. Govt has some more divesting plans including the BPCL and Air India in the 2nd half of FY 2020-21. However both are running sluggish but LIC expected to list soon. Govt. has set some targets and hopes from this move in future financial years which are following:

  • Disinvestment Target – Rs 2.1 lakh crores.
  • Expected IPO size of around 1 to 1.2 lakh crores for LIC.
  • IPO size of approx. 20k-25k crores for Air India.
  • Estimated IPO size of 50k-60k crores for BPCL.
  • Test of Indian share market’s depth.

Market depth will be stake for test because usually market crashes after some big IPO comes. Asset monetization is the big factor for reviving the economy after some crisis times. Latest fall in market was when SBI Card IPO was offered and hence market attracted towards it and rest of market saw a big down.

As year 2020 has seen a low phase of century in all terms like economy, socialites and life threat due to COVID-19. People are very cautious about their money and they are taking each step only after they are double sure, and they feel necessity to do so. Market has surge and it is not getting levelled in coming months.  A report suggests that economy has fall about odd 20% which will take a year or two to resurface. Looking at situation the only place people are hoping is for their insurance and other covers. Which is good sign for LIC and also for market and economy. Public is caring for their health crisis and hence it may result in good for LIC if it works well.

First year business of LIC before IPO is around 75.9% of market share. (we have not considered the first quarter as its not confirmed and also it is full of disruptions). It has registered the growth of 25% in this year. While Policies wise, it has share percent of 68.7%. However private companies also saw a growth rate of nearly 10% which is little better than their previous performances. LIC has total of 1.2lakh employees including its agents. This factor plays an important role for their brand value and reach to each people in India.

Unlike other finance options, Insurance and other schemes has seen a growth over the COVID-19 period as peoples are scared about their money. They are not willing to invest in other things like equity, debt bonds and commodity. They are looking for an option for future which can return money with a little but sure profit. They also want security for various reasons including any sudden emergency and problems. LIC while has some brilliant figures in terms of returns and claim settlement overall. LIC has more than 99% ratio of successful claim settlements. LIC has become the brand over the years. In the backward areas like village which have not grown as fast as cities, they feel LIC as the only Insurance provider. Infect they will misinterpret you if you say take some insurance. They will feel you are saying to buy LIC, such is the depth of trust in PAN India.

LIC is so successful that it has nearly 1lakh crore of unclaimed settlements in total. This is the amount which has not ever been claimed. This says all about their service and value. Total Asset Under Management is around RS 31lakh crores. LIC has revenue of Rs. 3.37 lakh crores and their net Income is 30,000 crores. While other private companies have total revenue of 1000 crores to 2000 crores. Media discussions estimates the market cap of Rs 10 to 12 lakh crores. Embedded value of LIC focuses on net profit growth a company has to offer his share holders in future. While the LIC has structure to offer 95% of his earning as bonus to their policy holders and employees, while remaining 5% goes to the government of India. This structure is quite old and not preferable as per the guidelines of SEBI. It has to be changed to get Under the equity market and SEBI.

LIC is a very big company on paper which is now preparing to appear for public. It is expected to come as a bang, but somewhere down the line company has lost its market hold over the years. It has reduced to 70% from 90% in last two decades. Which is something to ponder on. This will play a big role for shareholders, if they are thinking to go long term with the LIC. Also, an investor should dive deep into such aspects before taking a stake in LIC. The reason to check for such reason is that company is earning profits, but it has not yielding any growth. But due to increasing inflation shareholder needs that extra edge to compete with price hike in future.

Insurance sector contributes almost the 3.7 % of total GDP of India. While this ratio raises to 6.5% of total GDP of World. This shows the actual path it has still to cover to stay at normal scale of worldwide. Insurance sector has natural growth of 10-11% per annum. Total Asset Under Management is around 40 lakh crores and due to this natural growth, equity of insurance companies is increasing with a boom. The growth which company will do as their extra amount of good work and better performance will add ap the total effect in market and their market cap to grow faster. That’s why shares are enjoying such good run and investors are taking benefits of these parts quite well. Thing to watch out now is how other market players of insurance will sustain when LIC IPO gets introduced. That will tell the story of market in future whether we are balanced enough or we are still vulnerable on market stands.

Work From Home – New Normal!…

I was working in an IT multinational company. I used to work daily for 9-10 hours in my office. Come by 9am, get the work done, have lunch and teatime with colleagues was my daily routine. We used to go for a trek or clubs on weekends. So basically I was very happy with my life. Then one not so fine day, a human(inhuman) from china had cravings for raw bat meat and he gifted the whole world this pandemic.
As the number of cases in india were increasing, everybody was rushing back to homes. As they say, “trouble reminds you of your home”. So I also rushed to my home. It took me 1-2 days to adjust with the change of place. Then the very next day, I received an email from company asking for work from home. Firstly, I felt frustrated, because all my mechanical branch friends were having a proper holiday but here I was, working from home. But later, I understood the fact that keeping ourselves safe from this disease is one thing but earning for the family is must.
For first I was just frustrated with my WFH. The internet connection was poor at times. So I had to install new WiFi service. I used to work all day long. But the plus point was the homemade food. I always missed the food made by my mother when I was away. But now I could have it any time of the day. After few days, I was enjoying the WFH life. I could do my job and be with my family at the same time. After my graduation, I never had enough time to sit with my parents and have some words, freely. But this situation brought us closer. Now we sit together every day after dinner and chitchat till we fall asleep.
But nothing could stop me from concentrating on my work. I kept on working hard, finishing the assigned tasks in time, discussing with seniors, guiding juniors. I worked as I used to when at the office. Even the company was appreciating my efforts and it felt so good, a feeling of satisfaction. After few days, I even got a promotion. WFH was a new way to live life but now it became new normal for me.

Mahabharata: A Myth or Reality

Some stories are at the heart of Indian history.  The mythological stories of Mahabharata are one of these.  This epic of Maharishi Ved Vyasa was written by Lord Shri Ganesh.

The characters in these amazing stories of the epic have many amazing powers.  Even Narayana himself, through his wisdom, diplomacy and deceit, had led the right Pandavas to victory in this great war of Mahabharata.

Mahabharata war has a great aspect of the number 18.  There are 18 chapters in this epic.  Lord Krishna gave the knowledge of Gita to Arjuna for a total of 18 days.  The Mahabharata war lasted for 18 days.  The Gita also has 18 chapters. Army of  the Kauravas and the Pandavas  had a total number of 18 Akshohini army of which 11 belongs to Kauravas and 7 to Pandavas were Akshohini army. The main initiators of this war was also 18. Also only a number of 18 warriors survived in this war.

Some such skeletons were found in Mohenjo daro which had the effect of radiation. In Mahabharata, the results of Brahmastra were given from the chapter number 13 to 15 of the Saptik festival.  Historians believe that the Brahmastra left 5561 BC was the atomic bomb.

There were no zodiac signs during Mahabharata.  Astrology at that time was totally based on 27 constellations, not on 12 zodiac signs.  In the constellations, not Ashwini but Rohini was the first place.  Various civilizations experimented in astrology and created zodiac signs based on the moon and the sun and began to predict the future of the people, while in the Vedas and the Mahabharata there is no mention of such learning to show that the planetary constellation would make a person’s life  They affect.

The Mahabharata is written by Ved Vyasa.  Actually, Ved Vyas was not a name, but a title, which was given to people with knowledge of Vedas. There were a number of 27 Ved Vyas before Krishnadvapayana and he was himself the 28 Ved Vyas.  He was named Krishnadvapayan because he was born as a dynasty and was born on an island.

Ghatotkacha, son of Bhima and Nagakanya Ahilavati had a son named ‘Barbarika’.  At some places, it is also said that he was born from the stomach of Murmant’s daughter ‘Kamakantakata’.  When the war of Mahabharata was decided, Barbarik also expressed his desire to join the war and promised his mother to support the loser.  Barbarik rode his blue horse with three arrows and a bow to the battlefield of Kurukshetra.

Three arrows were enough for Barbarik, on whose strength he could destroy the entire army of Kauravas and Pandavas.  Knowing this, Lord Krishna appeared in front of him in the form of a Brahmin and asked him to trick Barbareek into charity.

Barbarik prayed to Krishna that he wanted to see war till the end, then Krishna accepted his statement.  He donated his head to the Dwadashi of Falgun Mas.  Lord Krishna watered that head with nectar and placed it on a hill near the battlefield, from where Barbarik could see the entire Mahabharata war.

How are industries changing due to Coronavirus Outbreak

The recent global COVID-19 pandemic has proved to be a game-changer for majority of us. It really changed the way we used to behave and perceive things in our daily life. We all are experiencing a ‘new normal’ together.

In this article, we are going to discuss that how industries are changing and adopting new trends to shape up their business. So without any further delay, let’s dive in. Have a happy reading ahead.

Education Industry

In this pandemic crisis, children are missing the school and college environment, as they have caged down at home for an uncertain time. Digital and online education has grown fast in this COVID-19 era. Many colleges and schools are adopting different platforms for online teachings and providing assignments to students online. Even online exams are now being held. This is newest thing to happen, that we never imagined ever.

Many faculties are even facing problems to clear the concept of the lesson taught. Therefore, they are using pre-recorded audios and videos to clear the concept. Sometimes even videos are being present in front of student to make them understand the concept. Coaching and home teaching are really suffering back as they have few resources and facilities to avail online teachings. Online platforms like- TCSion platform, Google classroom, MS Teams, Zoom, Byju’s are being used.

Entertainment Industry

We all are missing the movie halls. Right? The cheers and shout of the crowd has lost somewhere. We are missing looking at big screen and eating popcorn. We are really in an uncertain stage, when we will get back this. We are maintaining social distances as virus can get transmitted. Therefore, many big budget movies are being released in online platforms like-Hotstar, Netflix, Disney Hotstar, Voot, Amazon Prime and many more. These have become our priority than a luxury.

These movies are really winning our hearts after a long break and we are adoring them. The nostalgic feeling is being kept alive by the T.V channels.

Work Industry

It has being since a long time, when we used to go to our office and work there. We used to talk face to face with our team mates. We are missing the gossip and energetic workplace right now, as our office has been shifted to home, so called ‘work from home’.

Discussions are made online over video call and conference. Sometimes internet issues are creating problem and making delay in the work. There are many organizations still managing to cope up with this online platforms.

But we will sure cope up with this situation and adaptation of tools and online platforms will help us to experience the magic of internet. It will help us to experience exponential growth.

Hospitality Industry

Hotels and restaurants have been closed since a long time. We don’t know when these are going to open. Many small industries are facing problem due to this condition. The future revenue is really uncertain.

Online and home food delivery started as 30 -50% of the hospitality industry may permanently shut down. This has made us realise the value of branding and good quality services in this industry. Hygiene has become the main concern to attract customers now-a-days.

Self-care Industry

We all got lost in our busy schedules. We forgot to keep our mind and body to treat well. In this pandemic we have realised the importance of self-care during our negative times. We became aware that to lead a healthy life, we need to boost our mind by keeping it motivated all the times.

Doing exercises, reading motivational quotes, having healthy diets and keeping our minds has increased a lot in this global pandemic time.

So we are being forced to adopt the ‘new normal digitalization life’ everyday. These are creating or opening new opportunities in business but at the cost of huge economic loss. Many other industries like tourism, real-estate have also been heavily impacted. Worker must need to adopt the new skills in this new normal situation as change is the permanent thing to happen.

Hydroelectricity

Energy indisputably a resource on which humanity has been dependent. Without energy, we cannot find or administer medicine to cure disease, prepare food, purify water, drive our cars etc. the current energy need is 15TW and this number is projected to increase.in now a days we are more reliable on fossil fuel. Fossil fuels are also a large source pollution and also a non-renewable source of energy. As solar energy is a renewable source of energy so we are likely to shift our energy consumption from the non-renewable forms to the renewable forms.

Hydroelectricity is electricity generated through generators driven by water movement. It generally consists of barrier blocking a river, making a reservoir, or gathering water pumped in it. The pressure behind a barrel forces down the water pipes to a turbine, if the water is released. This causes the turbine to turn, turning the power generator.

Roughly one sixth of the world’s electricity comes from this renewable energy method. It generates less pollution than steam engine fires. This way, most power is available in some places such as Norway and Québec.

Most hydropower stations have a water tank, a gate or a valve to check the water flow out of the tank and an outlet or place where the water flows downward. Just before water pours down a dam or flows through a hill, water gains potential energy. As water flows downhill, the potential energy is transformed into film energy. The waste water can be used to generate electricity from a turbine ‘s blades and distributed to customers of the power plant.

Two types of hydropower plants are available, the most common of which is a impoundment facility. A dam is used to monitor the water flow stored in a pool or reservoir in the impoundment facility. Water is released from the dam if more energy is needed. After water is released, gravity moves and the water travels through the turbine downwards. When the turbine blades spin, a generator is powered.

A diversion facility is another form of hydroelectric power plant. This kind of plant is peculiar because it is not dam-free. It uses a variety of channels instead for the flow of water from the river to the generator turbines.

The ability to function as a peak power plant is an significant benefit of hydroelectric dams. The dam only holds more water as demand for electricity falls. The water stored in a storage tank can be released, so energy can be produced quickly (let go) when needed. Some hydro generators use pumped energy storage (often in the night) to store excess energy, pumping water into a tank by electricity. When demand rises, electricity can be produced. Hydropower is also a good fit for lower intermittent power sources. This versatility. Hydroelectricity can be generated when the wind does not blow or the sun is not bright.

The construction of large water dams will harm the ecosystem. In 1983, in response to a massive public outrage, the Australian government prevented Tasmania from creating a dam on the Gordon River. The dam was overflowing the river Franklin. The Chinese Three Gorges Dam is the largest hydropower projects in the world and the world’s biggest power plant. The barracks flooded an immense city, needing a population of 1.2 million. Scientists concern themselves with many of the dam concerns such as noise, silt and the possibility of the dam breaking.

Small amount of consumption of alcohol can be bad for the health

While daily consumption of alcohol increases apetite, studies have also associated alcohol with an increase in the amount of subcutaneous fat, both in men and women, especially around the abdominal area.Alcohol consumption makes certain changes in the body which results in weight gain. Researchers at the University of Liverpool found that daily consumption of alcohol increases the appetite by reducing the functioning of leptin (the hormone which manages and reduces hunger), which ultimately results in weight gain.

As per the US-based Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, moderate use of alcohol is defined as two drinks a day for men and one for women, depending on alcohol content in the concerning drink. But recent research done on 2.7 crore people shows that even a small amount of alcohol can have a strong negative effect on people.

The results of the analysis showed that alcohol consumption has a strong association with obesity, as well as metabolic syndrome. Metabolic syndrome is a cluster of conditions such as obesity, abnormal blood sugar levels and high blood pressure, all of which increase the risk of heart disease, stroke and type 2 diabetes.

It was found that men who consumed either half or one standard drink a day (which is equivalent to 7.1 to 14 grammes of alcohol) were around 10 percent more likely to suffer from obesity and metabolic syndrome while the ones who consumed up to two drinks a day (which is equivalent to 14.1 to 24 grammes of alcohol) showed 22 percent to 25 percent increased risk of getting the disease.

Amongst all, the men who drank more than two drinks (24 grammes of alcohol) per day showed 34 percent higher risk for developing obesity and 42 percent increased risk of suffering from metabolic syndrome.
