Shri Jayant Chaudhary assumes charge as Minister of State (IC) for Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship

 Shri Jayant Chaudhary assumed charge as Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE) at Kaushal Bhawan, New Delhi, today. On his arrival , Shri Chaudhary was received by the Secretary, MSDE, Shri Atul Kumar Tiwari, and other senior officials of the Ministry.

He expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for the trust placed in him and said that he would play his part in the Ministry, which is vital for the nation as it charts its course as a leader of the global economy.

Shri Jayant Chaudhary is an advocate for implementing programs and launches that integrate the deprived into the mainstream of development to ensure continued growth and development across sectors and the country at large.

He also brings with him a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to the welfare of the people. He was a member of the Standing Committee on Commerce, the Consultative Committee on Finance, the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), and the Committee on Government Assurances. He has served previously on the Standing Committees on Agriculture and Finance as well as the Committee on Ethics.

Shri Jayant Chaudhary did his undergraduate studies at Shri Venkateswara College, Delhi University, and an M.Sc in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science in 2002.

Action plan for first 100 days to continue India's progress under the leadership of PM Shri Narendra Modi

 Dr Jitendra Singh assumed charge Minister of State( Independent Charge) Ministry of Science and Technology today at Council Scienific and Industrial Research(CSIR) headquarter in New Delhi.

Soon after assuming the charge as Union Minister ,Dr. Jitendra Singh convened a joint meeting of six Science Ministries/ departments and their Secretaries wherein he discussed the first 100 days Action plan under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi.

“Action plan for the first 100 days is intended to continue India‘s progress under the leadership of PM Shri. Narendra Modi, says Dr. Jitendra Singh.

Addressing the media after assuming charge, Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh said “India is a frontline nation under PM Modi to offer leadership to the world in the field of Science & technology.

Dr. Jitendra Singh said “The special priority were Startups in the last 10 years under PM Modi which is evident from the statistical figures from 350 Startups in 2014 to 1.5 lakh 2024 with more than 110 unicorns”.

Bio economy has gone up by many folds and the progress will continue in this term .

Dr. Singh highlighted that the Patronage of PM Modi has played an active part in introducing new Technologies making the Innovations technologies such as Road construction technology, AI driven Healthcare, has brought ease of living for citizens of the country.

He expressed his confidence in carrying forward this mission for the next 20 years when India usher in 2047.

Innovations became part of infrastructure development when India will celebrate its Centenary year of Independence.

Union minister categorically mentioned that towards nearing the end of its Second term the government brought Anusudhan National research foundation (NRF) legislation was introduced which makes India A frontline nation in Science and technology.

Highlighting India’ s progress in the Space sector Dr Singh said “India’s esteem has risen due to its achievements in Space with successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the south pole of the moon and steady progress towards India”s first Human Space flight mission – Gaganyaan mission.”

We have no dearth of Scientific Acumen in the country, only lacking was the commitment from the policy making side emphasising the government’s focus.

Dr. Singh briefed that Innovation in Bio-economy, Blue-economy, Space economy will remain a priority.

Union Minister took a review meeting having presence of all secretaries in Science and Technology Ministry . Dr. Ajay Kumar Sood, PSA to Government of India along with Prof. Abhay Karandikar, secretary, DST ; Dr. Rajesh Gokhale, Secretary,DBT along with senior scientists of ISRO and CSIR were also present.

Dr. Jitendra Singh sensitized senior officials on the PM’s plan for 100 days. He also discussed plans to revamp CSIR to increase its efficiency and contribution in the country’s progress.

Union Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan officially takes charge of Ministry of Rural Development

 Union Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan today took charge of the Ministry of Rural Development. Addressing the media after taking charge, the Minister said that rural development is the priority of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several schemes are being implemented in this direction. Shri Chauhan said that schemes like Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) has changed the rural landscape of the nation. Talking about the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS), he said that it is a huge employment generator and there is now an emphasis on creating assets under the scheme. He said there has been revolutionary progress in rural development under leadership of PM Modi and empowering three crore lakhpati didis is a dream for him. Shri Chauhan said the scheme is very close to his heart and his government is committed to ensure justice for the female population of the country. The minister said woman empowerment is a mission for the government and self – help groups are playing an important role for it. The rural development minister also said that his Ministry will work to achieve the tasks set up in the 100-days plan of the government.  He also mentioned the decision taken by the union cabinet to construct three crore more houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

 

Later, he held a meeting of senior officials of the Ministry and underscored the need for transparency in Ministry functioning. He also handed government manifesto for rural development and called upon everyone to work towards its fulfilment.

 

Minister of State in Rural Development Shri Kamlesh Paswan also took charge of his portfolio today. The hon’ble Ministers were welcomed by department Secretaries and other senior officials of the Ministries.

Shri Hardeep Singh Puri takes Charge as Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas

 Shri Hardeep Singh Puri has officially taken charge as the Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas here today.

 

After taking charge as Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Shri Hardeep Singh Puri said that India under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi successfully navigated the energy trilemma of energy availability, affordability and sustainability while nations in our neighbourhood and even developed countries struggled with energy rationing, pump dry-outs and spiralling fuel prices. India is perhaps the only country in the world where fuel prices have come down over a two- and half-year reference period.

The Minister said “in 2014, our LPG connections numbered only 14 crores and only 55% population had access to LPG cylinders and now they have reached 32 crore and all mothers & sisters now have access to LPG as our Ujjwala scheme has been very successful.”

Speaking about Exploration and Production, Shri Puri said that Oil production from the 98/2 well will increase to 45,000 barrels per day very soon and gas production will also start soon. “for western offshore, ONGC has already floated a tender to get an international technology partner. All international oil and gas majors having an annual revenue above 75 billion USD have been invited to participate in this tender.”, he noted.

Reiterating government’s commitment to achieve 20% ethanol blending target by 2025, the Minister said, “in the month of May only, we were able to cross 15% of ethanol blending.”  He further added, “As you know, the Prime Minister had set a target originally of 20 percent blending by 2030. On the basis of what I have seen and in the basis of work in progress, I am reasonably confident that the 20% blending target, which was brought forward from 2030 to 2025, will be completed by the year 2025.”

Highlighting the government’s dedication to integrating green hydrogen in the refining process, Shri Puri said that green hydrogen plants at refineries in Panipat (10 KTA), Mathura (5 KTA), and Paradeep (10 KTA) will be installed soon. “First green hydrogen plant (10 MW) was commissioned on 27th May 2024, even as elections were on. Many of our Oil PSUs are in the process of issuance of tender for supply of green hydrogen. Green hydrogen station at Kochi has been commissioned for bus plying from Kochi Airport.”, he added.

Talking about upcoming projects in refining sector, Shri Puri, said that BPCL is in advanced stage to set up greenfield refineries and GAIL is also planning an ethane cracker unit for petrochemicals. “BPCL’s Bina refinery is coming up and Cauvery Basin Refinery is also coming up by IOCL at Chennai”, he added.

Suresh Gopi Takes Charge as Minister of State for Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas

 Shri Suresh Gopi, Member of Parliament from Thrissur, Kerala, has officially taken charge as the Minister of State for the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. Shri Gopi, who has been an influential figure in various fields, steps into this role following his predecessor, Shri Rameswar Teli.

Shri Pralhad Joshi assumes charge of Ministry of New and Renewable Energy

 Shri Pralhad Joshi took charge as Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy in addition to his portfolio of Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, at Atal Akshaya Urja Bhawan today. Shri Shripad Yesso Naik also assumed charge as the Minister of State in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy today.

Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Shri Bhupinder Singh Bhalla, along with senior officials of the ministry welcomed the ministers.

Speaking to the media, the Union Minister Minister Sh. Shri Kiren Rijiju Takes Charge as Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs

 Shri Kiren Rijiju assumed charge as the Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs in Sansad Bhawan today. Union Ministers of State in the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal and Dr L Murugan also assumed charge of office today. Outgoing Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Shri Pralhad Joshi was present at the occasion.

Interacting with the media after assuming charge of office, Shri Rijiju said that there is no need to pull each other down on the basis of numerical strength and inside the house, one should use vocal power for good debate.  Shri George Kurian  took over as the Minister of State in the Ministry of Minority Affairs here today. Shri Kurian was administered the oath of office and secrecy by the President in a ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhawan on 09 th June, 2024. Shri Kurian was welcomed by Secretary Shri Srinivas Katikithala and other senior officials of the Ministry.

 

 

Shri Kurian hails from Nambiakulam in Ettumanoor. Shri Kurian is an LLB graduate and has post-graduation in Master of Arts. He practices law in the Supreme Court of India. Previously, he has served as the vice-chairman of National Commission for Minorities.

Speaking with media on the occasion Shri Kurian expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister for giving this opportunity and said that he will work towards improving the socio- economic conditions of minority communities of the country.

 Shri Kiren Rijiju took over as the Minister for the Ministry of Minority Affairs here today. Shri Rijiju was administered the oath of office and secrecy by the President in a ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhawan on 09th June, 2024.

Shri Rijiju is a Lok Sabha MP from Arunachal (West), Arunachal Pradesh. Born on 19th November 1971, Shri Rijiju has studied B.A., LLB from Delhi. This is the fourth term of Shri Rijiju as the member of parliament. He earlier served as the Cabinet Minister of Earth Sciences and Food Processing Industries in the Government of India since 2023 till June 2024. He also served as the Minister of State for Home Affairs from 2014 to 2019, Minister of State for Minority Affairs from 2019 to 2021, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Sports and Youth Affairs from 2019 to 2021 and as the Law minister from 2021 to 2023.

Shri Rijiju has keen interest in badminton, football and athletics. He has also participated in National games. Shri Rijiju has written many articles in the Newspapers and Magazine related to Social, Cultural and Political issues. He has special interests in strategic and security affairs. An active social worker since school days, Shri Rijiju led several social movements as a social worker and student leader. He has represented India in various social and cultural events held in many countries. He was adjudged as the best young parliamentarian by the media during 14th Lok Sabha.

Briefly interacting with the media after taking charge, the Minister said that he will work on the Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas’ with inclusive approach to achieve the goal of ‘Viksit Bharat’. With the swearing-in of the 'Modi Government' for the third time, KVIC increases the pace of delivering government schemes to the people

 With the formation of the ‘Modi Government’ for the third time at the Center, the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises has once again increased the pace of delivering government schemes to the beneficiaries. On Monday, KVIC Chairman Shri Manoj Kumar distributed margin money subsidy of Rs 299.25 crore to 7444 units across the country under the Prime Ministers’ Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) through video conference. 81,884 new jobs were created by the sanctioned loan amount for the beneficiaries across the country.

 

In a statement, Chairman KVIC  congratulated Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on behalf of ‘Khadi Parivar’ for becoming the Prime Minister for the third time and said that the distribution of subsidy of Rs 299.25 Crore directly in the accounts of beneficiaries by KVIC on the very next day of swearing-in is an indication that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, government schemes will now be delivered to the public at double speed.

Shri Manoj Kumar informed that as per the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, to achieve the goal of ‘Developed India’ by the year 2047, KVIC is working on a plan to strengthen ‘Khadi Gram Swaraj Abhiyan’ in every village. All preparations have been made to take Khadi from local to global. Along with this, Prime Ministers’ Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) is also being expanded to increase the quality and reach of products related to village industry. In this sequence, KVIC has distributed Rs 299.25 Crore in the accounts of 7444 beneficiaries of all its 6 zones through online medium. Under this, subsidy of Rs 75.17 crore has been distributed to 2017 beneficiaries of Central Zone, Rs 22.92 crore to 763 beneficiaries of Eastern Zone, Rs 91.78 crore to 2477 beneficiaries of North Zone, Rs 9.2 crore in the account of 223 beneficiaries of Northeast Zone, Rs 72.97 crore to 1539 beneficiaries of South Zone and Rs 27.13 crore in the account of 425 beneficiaries of West Zone through online medium. 22187 jobs have been created in Central Zone, 8393 jobs in Eastern Zone, 27247 jobs in North Zone, 2453 jobs in Northeast States, 16929 jobs in South Zone and 4675 jobs in West Zone.

Chairman KVIC further said that under the guidance of Prime Minister various schemes of Khadi and Village Industry are being run by KVIC in the last 10 years to provide employment to the unemployed. PMEGP has taken a revolutionary initiative in the field of setting up cottage industries. The entire process from applying for PMEGP to issuing subsidy is online. From the start of PMEGP scheme till the last financial year, 9.40 lakh new projects have been set up in the country, which has provided employment to more than 81.48 lakh new people. For these schemes, till the last financial year, the Government of India has distributed margin money subsidy of more than Rs 24520.19 Crore. He further said that 52% units have been approved for SC/ST category and women. 80% PMEGP units have been set up in rural areas, 20% units in urban areas. About 67% PMEGP units are set up in manufacturing sector and 33% in service sector. Under this scheme, a grant of 15% to 25% is given to general category candidates and 25% to 35% to reserved category candidates by the Government of India.

Shri Manoj Kumar emphasized that the guarantee of Modi Government has made Khadi and Village Industry products popular globally. In the last 10 years, ‘New Khadi of New India‘ has given a new direction to the ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan’. As a result, more than four times the sales of Khadi products have been recorded in this period. With the increase in production and sales of Khadi, artisans of rural India have become economically prosperous. The increase of more than 233 percent in the remuneration of artisans in the last 10 years has attracted artisans towards Khadi work, while the ‘Vocal for Local’ and ‘Make in India’ mantra has made Khadi popular among the youth. KVIC officers and employees were present in the programme.

Union Minister Shri Jitan Ram Manjhi and Minister of State Sushri Shobha Karandlaje assume charge of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises

 Union Minister Shri Jitan Ram Manjhi assumed charge of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. He was Chief Minister of Bihar between 2014 and 2015.

Ms. Shobha Karandlaje also took charge as Minister of State in Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. She has also served as the Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and Minister of State for Food Processing Industries in Government of India. Secretary (MSME) and all senior officers of the Ministry welcomed Union Minister and Minister of State.

Addressing the media after taking charge Union Minister Shri Jitan Ram Manjhi thanked Hon’ble Prime Minister for including him in the vision 2047 and making him a part of the journey of Atmanirbhar Bharat that includes MSMEs as a focal point.

The Minister of State said that efforts would be made to make MSMEs self-reliant and to increase their share in GDP.

 The Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal took charge of the Ministry of Law and Justice today in New Delhi. Addressing the office bearers as well as the staff, Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal said, “Guided by the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, I am committed to serving the people with dedication & integrity and the Ministry of  Law & Justice will contribute in realizing the dream of Viksit Bharat”.

He said that “it is our priority to generate awareness among people for the 3 new criminal laws which are going to be implemented soon”. He further added that “it is our priority that the people get speedy justice in the courts”.

Shri Meghwal, born on 20th December, 1953, is a Post-Graduate in Political Science. He is a Law Graduate and has also done MBA from University of Philippines. Shri Meghwal is  a retired IAS Officer from Rajasthan and fourth time Member of Parliament representing Bikaner constituency in Lok Sabha since 2009 onwards. Prior to the present charge Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal has served as  Union Minister of State for Finance and Corporate affairs (2016-2017), Union Minister of State for Water Resources , River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation and Parliamentary Affairs (2017-19), Union Minister of State for Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises and Parliamentary Affairs (2019-21), Union Minister of State for Culture & Parliamentary Affairs  (2021-2023), Union Minister of State (I/C) for law and justice MoS for culture and parliamentary affairs (2023-24). Shri Meghwal is famous as a bicycle rider for commuting to Parliament and has been awarded Sansad Ratna (3 times) and Sansad Maharatna award.

Dr. Loganathan Murugan takes charge as Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting

 Dr L. Murugan today assumed charge as Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting. Speaking with media on the occasion Dr Murugan expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for reposing his faith in him. He further stated the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting plays a key role in executing Government policies by acting as a communication bridge between the Government and the people of the country.

 Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw assumed charge as Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting here today. Speaking with media on the occasion Shri Vaishnaw said that the Government led by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is dedicated to the upliftment of poor.
