A Space Dream

Yesterday when I lay asleep, a magical force lifted me from my bed and I found myself floating towards the skies rapidly. I saw the pale blue sphere that I was leaving behind. Earth never looked so magical before. I took a spin around the moon and marveled at the craters. I passed through the rings of Saturn and played hopscotch on the red soil of Mars. I made a snowman on the icy surface of Neptune. I saw the Milky Way from afar and was awestruck by the vast expanse of our Universe. I rode on the meteors that went whooshing by and saw pulsars and quasars. I almost got sucked into a black hole but pull myself away in time.I danced on the glowing surface of Venus and visited mercury.I took a spin around the sun without a single hair singed. After witnessing all the beautiful sight,I started feeling homesick. I slowly drifted back to the pale blue planet that we call home.Full of memories from the visit,I hoped to take another trip soon.Soon I was laid back on my bed and I drifted back into sleep.

How To Find Your Dream Job In 9 Steps

DREAM JOB!

Many people have a job they don’t like. Many take jobs they don’t like. The reason we take jobs we don’t like is because we need money. I can’t think of any other reason people would waste their time doing something that is not passionate about. I challenge you to find your dream job—a job that you love doing 7 days a week. Work that doesn’t feel like work. In that way, you are not only living for the weekend.

Many of us only live on the weekend and after 5 pm on weekdays. ‘The American Time Use Survey’ shows that we spend almost 40% of our time at work. Would you waste 40% of your money? I’ve never heard an average person saying, “I have $10.000 in savings, I’ll just throw $4.000 away.”

Time is more valuable than money. So why would you give away your time? By doing what you love to do, you are doing something of meaning. Stop the busy work and find your dream job! Here are 9 steps that you can use as a guideline.

  1. Decide exactly what kind of job you want. If the job doesn’t exist, create it.
  2. Choose the company or person you want to work for.
  3. Study your potential future employer
  4. Find out what kind of competencies you need to be successful
  5. Do a strengths/weaknesses analysis of yourself. You have to be clear about what kind of value you can offer.
  6. Create a plan of how you’re going to develop your competencies you need further.
  7. Now, apply. Forget about job openings or vacancies. If you can add value to a company, they would be idiots not hiring you.
  8. Once you know what job you want, what the company needs, what competencies you have, and what value you can add, put it on paper. Hire a copywriter or who can help you with his. Or have someone who is in sales look at it. You have to be persuasive.
  9. Find out who has the ‘power’ to hire you. Browse LinkedIn for the senior manager of the department you want to work for. If it is a smaller company, contact the CEO.

This method may take you longer and more analysis of your skills. But it’s worth it to find your dream job. Financially and mentally. By doing something you love you will save yourself many headaches in the long run. You’ll probably earn more money as well. If you follow the standard hierarchy and climb the ladder like everybody else, you will earn exactly the same as everybody else.

Guidelines to choose your career-for final year and pre-final year students

” I have no problem with starting from scratch” – Leif Garrett

The age 20-25 is quite confusing age of our lives. Everyone will have an inner voice which is constantly interrogating us a set of questions like , ” What are my interests?” , “Which is the field I can excel on?” , “How can I bring the best out of myself?”. Never be terrified by these questions. These are questions which will make you streamline your career path.

During the pre-final year and final times , we all will start to have a fear of future and will begin to recognize the practical aspects of life. The pressure could be due to college placements, peer discussions and expectations of our families. Never make any of these external factors influence your career choice.

The first step in order to identify the career path which best suits you is to know about your interests and skillsets. Write down three important interests of yours which may or may not relate to the stream of your study. Figure out what are the skill sets you have in those interests which could fetch you a job. In case if you have no skillsets in those fields refer to the career sites and find out what are the skill expectations for those roles.

The second step is to understand the industry. In the initial days of our college, we all would have had fun unaware of a world outside which is developing at a rapid phase . Start learning about what’s happening around you. Recognize the fields which are blooming and categorize those which attract you. List down the skills which are anticipated in those fields.

The third and most important step is to write down all the fields , interests and skillsets you have figured out in steps one and two. Write down your short term and long term goals which align with your interests. Narrow down to 2 fields which allure you and make you move forward towards your long term goals.

“We cannot become what we want to be , by remaining what we are” – Max DePree

Kick start your learning phase by acquiring skills and mastering them which attribute to revamp your profile. Make sure you update your profile regularly on career sites like LinkedIn which provides you the opportunity of networking. Never be petrified by the fear of perfection during the learning phases because,

“Continuous Improvement is better than Delayed Perfection” – Mark Twain.

You are here not to live average

I thought of doing hardwork but I don’t untill it’s required. I know that work will done before it had to be done. But if we work to gain something then it’s worth. Completing the work at the last moment for the ske of finishing it doesn’t make it done. We shoukd self analyse the things that are going to be done and introspect us while doing. Intrest isn’t something that comes suddenly. It is something that gets builded over a period of time. Doing a thing repeatedly creates Intrest once we feel intrested.

Don’t work to work. Work for something big. Dream big, think big and do big. Small things are done anyways by anyone. Focus more to become big. Push yourself atleast a bit. Have a good time to live. The only thing that you can’t control is your life because we can die whenever since it’s in our hands. Let your life be lived the way you feel. Have a nice life because it’s you who can make it happen. Thinking big isn’t bad but doing it requires something more than that. Thinking is easy because it just happens the moment you think. Making it happen is something you should think.

Achieve your aim, believe in becoming, care your curiosity, dare to be in danger, enlight the enthusiasm, forget the fear, goal to gain, hope to have, Impress your inside, add Joy to your journey and be the king of your kingdom. I thought of completing all the necessities of the adjectives of our personalities over there, but in order to make you think I am letting you think the rest and hope you start your thinking and stop it by finishing the task.

Everyone will have a goal because it’s easy to have it. But few will achieve it because it’s hard to reach there. To be someone from everyone, you have to do something that everybody will not do. Have a spirit to gain atleast something that you wished. Have guts to get what you felt. Be brave enough to face it because you are here to live only once. Don’t be shy to feel shy. Believe in yourself and behave accordingly. You are no one’s puppet. You can choose your life, but before that have a clarity. Choosing is easy but choosing correct option isn’t that easy. Life is full of choices and it’s easy to be wrong. But leading a life to realise that thing is waste of life. Don’t search for the life. Live the life that you search in your dreams. You are not here to fetch your dollars to your future kids. They can earn their money. You are here to spend your money on you. You is more important than we. Atlast it’s you who will be you and remain with you.

Don’t lead a good life when you have a chance to live best. Do what all you could and don’t make your dream to be the dream if your kids. Your dream should make them dream about their dream. Have a great relaity and live the fullest life. Let us celebrate the life.
