National Conference on KCC for Fisheries

 Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Shri Parshottam Rupala will chair a one day “National Conference on KCC for Fisheries” on 4th September 2023 at Yashwantrao Chavan Centre in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The Conference is being jointly organized by Department of Fisheries (DoF) and Department of Animal Husbandry Dairying (DAHD) to resolve pressing on-ground issues. The other dignitaries present during the event will be Minister of State, MoFAH&D – Dr. L. Murugan, Minister of State, Ministry of Finance, -Dr. Bhagwat Kishanrao Karad, Minister for Fisheries, Govt. of Maharashtra – Shri Sudhir Mungantiwar, Minister for Revenue, Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development, Govt. of Maharashtra –Shri Radhakrishna Eknathrao Vikhepatil, Secretary,DAHD- Ms Alka Upadhyaya, Secretary, DoF – Dr Abhilaksh Likhi, Joint Secretary (Inland Fisheries), Additional Secretary, DAHD – Ms Varsha Joshi, Joint Secretary (Inland Fisheries), DoF- Shri Sagar Mehra and Chief Executive, NFDB – Dr. L. Narasimha Murthy, ARS along with key representatives from financial and banking institutions namely Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Dept of Financial Services (DFS) and NABARD.

Representatives from Fisheries Department of States/UTs, NFDB and other relevant Departments/Ministries, KCC beneficiaries, fishermen, fish farmers, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders from across the nation are expected to participate. The program is being organised in hybrid mode and is expected to have around 500 participants.

During the event, Minister of FAH&D will distribute KCC cards to eligible fishers and fishermen. He will interact with them and address the gathering in accordance with the discussion during the conference and the way forward from welfare and policy perspectives. Special address will be shared by representatives from RBI, DFS and NABARD. During the program, guidelines/SOPs on KCC in vernacular language will be distributed. The interaction between all the stakeholders is expected to pave way for addressing issues and give long term and practical solutions for seamless flow of available credit with simplified process, checks and balances.

Fisheries and aquaculture activities are an important source of food, nutrition and employment generation and is an important source of livelihood for 2.8 crore fishers and fishermen. In the last decade the sector has exhibited growth in a constituent manner and one of the key aspects that have been gained attention is availability of institutional finance to small scale fisheries’ stakeholders. 

Kisan Credit Card scheme was extended by the Government of India in the 2018-19 to fisheries and animal husbandry farmers to help them meet their working capital requirements. Reserve Bank of India issued the guidelines on KCC to fishers and fish farmers on 4th February 2019. Subsequently, to streamline the process of credit delivery through KCC to the Animal Husbandry and Fisheries farmers, a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)/Guidelines was issued in consultation with the stakeholders including Ministry of AHDF, RBI, National Bank for Agriculture and Rural development (NABARD) and Indian Bank’s Association (IBA).

In order to mobilise beneficiaries and boost uptake of KCC, Department of Fisheries has been pursuing all States/UTs and State Level Bankers Committee (SLBC) to sensitize and disseminate information amongst the fishers and fish farmers. In spite of various challenges, all the States/UTs and SLBC are being pursued to enhance awareness and visibility about the usefulness of KCC facility amongst the potential beneficiaries through different mode of campaigns and outreach and promotional activities. Through these continued efforts, 1.49 lakh KCC have been issued till date to fishers and fish farmers across the country.

A special drive for mobilization of KCC applications was organized from 1st June to 31st December 2020 by DoF. Followed by a Nationwide campaign launched on 15th November 2021 to 31st July 2022 under the leadership of Minister of FAH&D. “Nationwide AHDF KCC Campaign” was resumed 15th September 2022 till 15th March 2023 and is now continuing from 1st May 2023 till 31st March 2024. Special KCC campaigns were also organized during Sagar Parikrama program in coastal districts. Through these campaigns, DoF endeavours to understand the bottlenecks and challenges in extending KCC facility by the financial and banking institutions while also attempting to understand the beneficiary perspective regarding their problems and constraints faced.

The Kisan Credit Card is a powerful tool for financial inclusion and collaboration where activity like agriculture, fisheries, animal husbandry and dairying are treated as vital components for livelihood and income generation for large numbers of poor and marginal farmers and fishers. It represents the determination of the centre and the state entities to support its farmers and promote equitable growth.

Currently in its seventh edition, ICMR2023 offers a venue for the dissemination of multidisciplinary research pertaining to e-technologies. The conference aims to bring together researchers and practitioners interested in exploring the many facets of Internet applications and technologies, with a primary focus on technological and managerial issues, but also a keen interest in social, ethical, and legal issues.

As in prior years, ICMR2023 welcomes research and practice submissions on various topics related to e-technologies. In particular, this year, we invite contributions on the ever-increasing role of Internet of Things (IoT) in the service of individuals, organizations and businesses. Toward this, the theme of ICMR2023 is Embracing the Internet of Things (IoT): From Architecture to Adoption. We invite contributions that deliberate various aspects of IoT including but not limited to enabling technologies, applications and services, business implications and societal impacts. Contributions on other e-technologies are also welcome.

CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS & PUBLICATIONS

International Conference on Multidisciplinary Research (ICMR) 2023 has to be understood as an integral part of quality education, inherent in the concept of lifelong learning. All educational institutions – from preschool to higher education and in non-formal and informal education – can and should consider it their responsibility to deal intensively with matters of sustainable development and to foster the development of sustainability competencies. ICMR2023 provides an education that matters and is truly relevant to every learner in the light of today’s challenges.

Education for Sustainable Development is holistic and transformational education that addresses learning content and outcomes, pedagogy and the learning environment.  Thus, ESD does not only integrate contents such as climate change, poverty and sustainable consumption into the curriculum; it also creates interactive, learner-centered teaching and learning settings. What ICMR2023 requires is a shift from teaching to learning. It asks for an action-oriented, transformative pedagogy, which supports self-directed learning, participation and collaboration, problem-orientation, interdisciplinary approach and the linking of formal and informal learning. Only such pedagogical approaches make possible the development of the key competencies needed for promoting sustainable development. With the introduction of the New Education Policy 2020, India would like to train our youth to face the global challenges and contribute their best to the society.

All educational institutions – from preschool to higher education and in non-formal and informal education – can and should consider it their responsibility to deal intensively with matters of sustainable development and to foster the development of sustainability competencies.

The Seminar is an effort to provide a forum for Educationists, Teacher Educators, Research Scholars, and Teachers to come together for exchange of views, ideas and experiences and to deliberate upon various issues related to Education for sustainable Development.

The Abstract/Paper should be typed in MS Word, 12 point Times New Roman and 1.5 line spacing. The Abstract should be limited upto 500 words only and the full paper should be 10-12 pages. Author(s) should mention their designation along with the institutional affiliation and contact details.  Only after the acceptance of the abstract, the prospective paper presenters need to submit their full paper. How-ever the organizing committee will reserve the right to accept or reject the final paper at their discretion. The Plagiarism must not exceed the limit of 20% including References.

Please prepare your manuscript using the following guidelines:

  • Article files should be provided in Microsoft Word or PDF format. PDF as a sole file type is not accepted, a PDF must be accompanied by the source file.
  • Articles should be:
    • Written between 4 to 8 pages, typed in the single column using Times New Roman. This includes all text including references and appendices.
    • Maximum pt. the font for Title is 14pt.
    • Name and affiliation of all authors should be included after the title. Insert only corresponding email.
    • The maximum is 300 words in total for abstract. Authors should provide appropriate and short keywords (at least 3 words).
    • Headings must be concise, with a clear indication of the distinction between the hierarchies of headings. The preferred format is for first level headings to be presented in bold format and subsequent sub-headings to be presented in medium italics.
    • Your manuscript should include an introduction, the previous study (literature review), objectives, methodology, results, discussion and conclusion. However, depending on your content, some of our suggestion can be expanded or reduced.
    • Equations should be centered with equation numbers on the right-hand side (flush right).
    • Figures, tables, and equations must be inserted in the text and may not be grouped at the end of the paper. If you need to arrange a number of figures, a good tip is to place them in a table, which gives you additional control of the layout
    • Cite all Figures/Table/Equations in the text consecutively. The word “Figure” should be spelled out if it is the first word of the sentence
  • We suggest that notes or endnotes should be avoided unless necessary. If necessary, it must be identified in the text by consecutive numbers, enclosed in square brackets and listed at the end of the article.
  • References can be in any kind of style but make it consistent throughout the paper.

The International Conference on Multidisciplinary Research-2023 will be held on 22nd and 23rd April 2023 at Virtual Mode. This multi-disciplinary research conference aims to provide an opportunity for academicians, researchers, scientists, and industry experts to present the results, in theory, methodology, and applications of different areas of Engineering Sciences and Social Sciences under one roof. It is a good platform for researchers to share and discuss their ideas and views with peers. The ICMR – 2023 would offer several invited lectures from well-known speakers all over the world. Submission Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit regular (full) papers for presentation at the conference, describing original, previously unpublished work, which is not currently under review by another conference, or journal. Regular papers should present novel perspectives within the general scope of the conference. Papers should not be more than 8 pages in length. Use ‘Times New Roman font, size 12, and single-column layout shall be uploaded via easy chair paper submission. Camera-ready papers can be submitted after acceptance using the guidelines given on the website.

Paper Publication and Indexing

All submitted papers will be reviewed by technical committees of the conference (including a similarity plagiarism check). All the accepted and registered conference papers will be published in the Conference Proceedings with ISBNs and will be indexed by Google Scholar. Welcome all delegates to ICMR 2023. Organized by Track2Training, International Conference on Multidisciplinary Research (ICMR) 2023 aims to provide a platform for scholars, intellectuals and professionals to share and generate forum on the current local and global issues, address solutions to the problems and to provide opportunity for participants to exchange and share knowledge and information, establish business or research relationships and find global partners for future collaboration.

All prospective participants/authors are cordially invited to submit original and unpublished works for publication and presentation at the conference. All submissions are subjected to peer review before an acceptance decision is made. Our review committee will also select potential papers that have the merits for indexed publication and inform the corresponding authors for further decision. Papers may address, but not restricted to, the main theme from any of the sub-themes as mentioned in the conference website. Unlisted but related sub-topics are also acceptable.

The full manuscript must be submitted as an MS Word file in DOC or DOCX format (PDF format is not accepted). Please submit your full paper before the submission deadline and all manuscripts must be thoroughly checked for errors and formatted according to the Full Paper template that can be downloaded from the website. Manuscripts that are not properly prepared will be returned to the authors for revision and resubmission. Special discount will be given for group registration (3 participants or more). National Conference on Soil Health Management for Sustainable Farming

 Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister, Shri Narendra Singh Tomar today inaugurated the National Conference on Soil Health Management for Sustainable Farming. On this occasion, Shri. Tomar said that due to chemical farming and other reasons, soil fertility is getting eroded and climate change is going to be a big concern for the country as well as the world. He said Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has concerns about climate change and from time to time prepares plans and keeps working on these plans. He said Prime Minister Shri Modi is committed towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

On the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and World Soil Day, NITI Aayog in collaboration with GIZ affiliated to the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), Germany, Chief Guest Shri Tomar said that the lack of organic carbon in the soil is a serious concern for us. To meet this serious challenge and for better soil health, we have to promote natural farming, which is beneficial for the environment. He said that to promote natural farming, the Government of India under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Modi is working with the States. The Government has re-adopted the Indian Natural Farming System for Agriculture. Natural Farming System is an ancient technique used by farmers for farming and at that time people also knew how to live in harmony with the nature, he added. States like Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu etc. have made many innovations to promote natural farming. During the last year, an additional area of 4.78 lakh hectares has been brought under natural farming in 17 States. To promote natural farming, the Central Government has approved the National Mission on Natural Farming as a separate scheme with an expenditure of Rs. 1,584 crores, Shri Tomar said. Under the Namami Gange programme, the project of natural farming is going on along the banks of the Ganges, while the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and all Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), Central and State Agricultural Universities and Colleges are making all-round efforts to promote natural farming.

Shri Tomar said that the Government of India is also working through Soil Health Card. In two phases, more than 22 crore Soil Health Cards have been distributed to farmers across the country. Infrastructure development is also being done by the Government under the Soil Health Management Scheme, in which there is a provision to set up different types of Soil Testing Laboratories. So far, 499 permanent Soil Testing Laboratories, 113 Mobile Soil Testing Laboratories, 8,811 Mini Soil Testing Laboratories and 2,395 Village-level Soil Testing Laboratories have been established. He said that there was a time when the policies were production-oriented, due to chemical farming, agricultural yield increased, but now the situation has changed, and with climate change, keeping soil health intact is a big challenge. He said that if an attempt is made to exploit the earth contrary to the principles of nature, the consequences can be dangerous. Today, due to chemical farming, the soil’s fertility is being eroded, the country and the world should avoid this and fulfill our environmental responsibility.

In the conference, Vice Chairman of NITI Aayog, Shri Suman Berry, Member Prof. Ramesh Chand, CEO Shri Parameswaran Iyer, Senior Advisor Ms. Neelam Patel, Central Agricultural University Vice Chancellor of Jhansi, Dr. A.K. Singh and Mr. Drik Steffis, along with several scientists, policymakers and other stakeholders were present. Various technical sessions were addressed by experts at the conference.
