India and China committed to reduce tensions along LAC; Both sides to implement disengagement understanding of 6th June sincerely

India and China have emphasized the need for an expeditious, phased and stepwise de-escalation as a priority along the Line of Actual Control. Both sides have been engaged in discussions through established military and diplomatic channels to address the situation. Commanders from People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and Indian Army held a meeting at Chushul, on the Indian side yesterday for another round of talks.

This was the third senior Military Commander-level engagement to discuss issues related to disengagement at the face off sites along the LAC and de-escalation from the border areas. This is in keeping with the Agreement between External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar and his Chinese counterpart during their conversation on 17th June. Both the leaders agreed that the overall situation would be handled in a responsible manner and both sides would sincerely implement the disengagement understanding of 6th June.

AIR correspondent quoting sources reports that the third meeting between the Lieutenant General-level officers of both the countries yesterday was long and held in a businesslike manner keeping in view the COVID-19 protocols. The discussions reflected the commitment of both sides to reduce the tensions along the LAC. The process of dis-engagement along the LAC is complex and in such a context, speculative and unsubstantiated reports need to be avoided.

Sources say, more meetings are expected, both at the military and at the diplomatic level, in future, to arrive at mutually agreeable solutions and to ensure peace and tranquility along the LAC as per bilateral agreements and protocols.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is likely to visit Ladakh tomorrow morning along with Army Chief General Manoj Naravane. He is expected to meet the brave hearts of the Indian Army who pushed back the Chinese forces during the face off which took place on 15th of last month in Galwan Valley.

Tulsi: Herb for all Seasons

Even today, you see the elders worshipping Tulsi; it is still considered a Goddess. Many may view it as simply a plant. However, after knowing its history and numerous uses in our day to day lives, we have to agree that Tulsi is nothing short of a miraculous plant.

Ocimum tenuiflorum a.k.a. Holy Basil is an aromatic sacred plant in Hinduism grown mostly in tropical regions like India. Most of the people regionally know it as Krishna Tulsi (Tulasi or Thulasi), based on the dark complexion of Lord Krishna. The plant has purple colored leaves with dark stems and usually takes a longer time to grow compared to its other counterparts. This gives its leaves a less bitter after-taste and makes them very crunchy to chew.

tulsi

Kala Tulsi, another name for the same plant, is an annual plant. His is to say that it cannot withstand the winter season and dies every year. It then has to be replaced, with seeds sown in the spring season. After watering these seeds from time to time in a uniform manner, they usually germinate after a span of two weeks. Tulsi is preferably grown in rich and well-drained soil. A mixture of peat, soil, and clay with an ideal pH of 6.5 to 7.5 is ideal for the plant. Tulsi also requires an ample amount of sunlight, somewhere between four to six hours a day.

Instead of growing it from scratch, you can also get it from a nursery near your home where it usually comes in a grow bag. It then has to be transplanted to a larger pot where it grows naturally. However you may grow it, Tulsi requires constant care for it to thrive. The pruning of some top leaves give the plant more breathing space and help it grow better. Cutting off flower buds and drying leaves also direct more energy to the plant. Overwatering can kill it so extra care has to be taken while watering it. The symptoms include browning of leaves and their wilting which indicates that there is root rot. To avoid this, it is better to mist the plant.

Traditionally, the various parts of the plant like the stems, leaves, and flowers have known to be of great medicinal use. They are used for curing throat infections, respiratory system problems, nasal lesions, earaches, and skin diseases. The list of benefits further includes using Tulsi oil as eardrops, putting a few purple Tulsi leaves in tea to make it Herbal with Ayurvedic properties, as a key ingredient in Thai cuisine, and as an insect repellent, or in case of Malaria. The fresh leaves are also helpful in case of indigestion, headache, hysteria, insomnia, and cholera.

tulsi2Apart from that, many people are seen wearing Tulsi beads with these medicinal characteristics while some also believe its wood to be the most powerful in protecting them against negative influences in their lives. Beautifully handcrafted jewelry items made from Tulsi wood are also becoming more and more common these days. After knowing all the benefits and its properties, it is only fair to consider Tulsi as a sacred plant.

Training is the process of helping employees to acquire more knowledge of the job and to learn or sharpen the needed skills, attitudes and values associated with the efficient performance of their job and new employees, as also existing employees, often need training as a means of their progress in their jobs and careers and it is an important element of the staffing function and many organizations make formal or informal arrangements for providing training to their managerial and non-managerial personnel. Training is practical education and it is a technique that brings out the hidden abilities in a person and teaches him to use his skills effectively. Training is an art and the trainer selects the best methods for training, keeping because of the requirements of the job and the ability of the concerned persons. Training is an activity which changes the outlook and behavior of persons and training may be understood as the practice of theoretical knowledge and the importance of training is well-recognized all over the world but the methods of training may vary from job to job and from industry to industry and typically, a separate training department under the charge of an expert in training techniques is established for the purpose. As Dale Yoder said, “Training is the process by which manpower is filled for the particular jobs it is to perform”.

METHODS OD TRAINING

1. On-the-job Method

On-the-jib methods are the methods that are applied, while the employee is working and it means Learning while doing and training is provided by superiors to subordinates and it is economical and less time consuming and it is used where jobs are simple, as in case of plumbers and motor mechanics.

a. Apprenticeship Programme

Under this method, trainees are apprentices and they work under the direct supervision of the experts, who guide and help them in learning the job.

 b. Internship Training

In this method, professional institutes enter into arrangements with big business enterprises and send their students to these industrial enterprises to gain practical work experience.

c. Job Rotations

It is shifting the trainees from one department to another department or from one job position to another job position.

d. Induction Training

The Shopping…

Shopping is an activity during which a customer browses the available goods or services presented by one or more retailers with the potential intent to get an appropriate selection of them. A typology of customer types has been developed by scholars which identify one group of shoppers as recreational shoppers, that is, those that enjoy shopping and consider it as a leisure activity.

In antiquity, marketplaces and fairs were established to facilitate the exchange of products and services. People would buy goods at a daily market in nearby towns. However, the transient nature of stalls and stall-holders meant the consumers needed to form careful inspection of products before purchase. In ancient Greece, the agora served as a marketplace where merchants kept stalls or shops to sell their goods. Ancient Rome utilized an identical marketplace referred to as the forum. Rome had two forums; the Forum Romanum and Trajan’s Forum. Trajan’s Market at Trajan’s forum, built around 100-110CE, was a huge expanse, comprising multiple buildings with tabernae that served as retail shops, situated on four levels.

Archaeological evidence suggests that the British engaged in minimal shopping within the early Middle Ages. Instead, they provided for his or her basic needs through farming practices and a system of localized personal exchanges. However, by the late Middle Ages, consumers turned to markets for the acquisition of fresh produce, meat, and fish, and therefore the periodic fairs where non-perishables and luxury goods might be obtained. Women were liable for everyday household purchases, but most of their purchasing was mundane. For the most part, shopping was seen as a chore instead of a pleasure.

The modern phenomenon of buying pleasure is closely linked to the emergence of a bourgeoisie within the 17th and 18th-century Europe. As standards of living improved within the 17th century, consumers from a broad range of social backgrounds began to get goods that were quite necessities. An emergent bourgeoisie or bourgeoisie stimulated demand for luxury goods and commenced to get a wider range of luxury goods and imported goods, including Indian cotton and calico; silk, tea, and porcelain from China, spices from India and South-East Asia and tobacco, sugar, rum and occasional from the New World. The act of shopping came to be seen as an enjoyable pass-time or sort of entertainment.

Recently, the number of individuals who purchase various products and services online is increasing quite ever before. This has certainly affected the business of shopping centers to an excellent extent. E-shopping is usually considered to be more convenient for patrons than in-store purchasing. Perhaps, this is often because, many of us, nowadays, are unable to seek out adequate time to travel shopping as they’re too busy with professional or personal responsibilities. for instance, virtual shopping websites like, eBay and Amazon provide a good range of products online, which cater to the requirements of people from the comfort of their home. Moreover, such shopping sites have considerably reduced major inconveniences related to shopping, like traveling to distant shops, parking vehicles in crowded cities, and spending a substantial amount of your time.

shopping online allows consumers to browse for products and checking prices between these online shops. during this way, people can make a far better decision to shop for what they like after taking prices, sizes, and models into consideration. From my experience, people wont to buy a chic dress at a virtual shop, which was cheaper compared to some shops near their living area. as an example, popular online shops in India, namely Flipkart and Jabong haven’t only provided detailed information about their products on sale but also customers’ opinions and reviews on their product experience. Besides, placed orders on these websites are often altered or canceled by customers, and purchased products also can be returned if they are doing not meet the assured quality.

The fact that online shopping encourages us to shop for things that we don’t need or use can’t be denied. this will cause debts. Also, there are security concerns. once you buy things online, you run a little risk of getting your financial information exploited by hackers. Of course, good anti-virus and anti-malware programs offer an excellent deal of protection. But almost hebdomadally, we hear about data breaches at major online retailers.

Every person has information regarding the Black Friday, which celebrated by people all around the world, by shopping product from malls and online shops, As the first day after the last major holiday before Christmas, it marks the unofficial beginning of the Christmas shopping season. Additionally, many employers give their employees the day off as part of the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. In order to take advantage of this, virtually all retailers in the country, big and small, offer various sales including limited amounts of door buster/door crasher/door smasher items to entice traffic. The early 2010s have seen retailers extend beyond normal hours in order to maintain an edge or to simply keep up with the competition. Such hours may include opening as early as 12:00 a.m. or remaining open overnight on Thanksgiving Day and beginning sale prices at midnight. in year 2019, Black Friday shoppers spent $7.4 billion online, the second-largest Internet shopping day ever, according to data compiled by Adobe Analytics, 174 million US consumers went shopping online or in-store last year.

How Tik-Tok changed the World!!!

2020 has been a year of chaos, uncertainty and grief. A global pandemic, record unemployment and nationwide protests have left people reeling. Through it all though, there’s been TikTok, providing moments of levity and new dance crazes, interspersed with more serious commentary on the issues that we face.

New TikTok CEO Kevin Mayer Explains Why He Left Disney – Variety
TikTok, it’s like the party you want to be at, a t the moment. You’ll see hair tutorials, cooking tutorials. People can create challenges, they can create duets, they can interact, they can engage. TikTok is the most downloaded app of 2020. Since its global release less than two years ago, TikTok and its Chinese counterpart, Douyin, have amassed 800 million monthly active users, more than Reddit, Snapchat or Twitter. Its parent company, ByteDance, is the most valuable startup in the world. Its reach might surprise you unless you’re a member of Gen Z or the parent of one. But as millions scramble for connection amidst quarantines, more and more users of all ages are hopping aboard.

EXCLUSIVE: TikTok CEO Kevin Mayer to address 2,000 panic-stricken ...
The Chinese-owned app faces a slew of regulatory hurdles, privacy concerns and allegations of censorship. Amidst these struggles, it’s brought in a new CEO. This guy is Kevin Mayer. Formerly the Head of Streaming at Disney. That’s basically what Kevin Mayer’s first priority needs to be, is to make sure that Americans trust TikTok. In the end of the day , t hat may prove complicated. But in the short term, it hasn’t prevented tens of thousands of new users from signing up. The predecessor to TikTok was an app called Musical.ly. Founded in 2014, it provided a platform for users to create short, 15 second videos set to a song of their choice. The content mostly involved lip-syncing and dancing, and it took off quickly among preteens and teenagers within the U.S. This is an app that was built around the fact that there was music that was licensed to be used on this app. This was something that Musical.ly decided really to invest in, because they knew that music and sharing music was inherently social.

Reddit CEO claims TikTok app is 'fundamentally parasitic' and ...
In July 2015, a year after its launch, Musical.ly reached number one in the iTunes app store. It continued to grow and was bought by the Beijing-based startup ByteDance for one billion dollars in 2017. ByteDance already owned Tik Tok, a similar video sharing platform, and merged the two apps less than a year later. Now TikTok’s main office is in Los Angeles, California. They’re essentially an American startup that is subsidized by a successful Chinese tech company. As the app has grown, it’s given rise to a whole new pack of social media celebrities. Content is public by default TikTok, and therefore the algorithm that determines what appears on a user’s home page gives every creator the prospect to place their video in front of millions. Really what we saw was a different style of humor. It wasn’t the sketches that you saw on Vine, and it wasn’t longer-form YouTube videos. It was meme culture or like the general public’s take on a meme. What I enjoyed about it is there was some deeper humor in there if you were paying attention to the trends that were happening.
On TikTok, King uses creative video editing to make it look like he’s performing magic tricks, a skill which has earned him over 44 million followers, the second most on the app as of June 2020. But at 30, King represents the rare millennial that’s broken into TikTok’s top ranks. Many of the most followed users are in their teens, and lip syncing and dancing remain wildly popular. So I originally started when I was 14 years old, and so I started using my facial expressions and hand motions to make these like larger than life lip sync videos. And as I grew up, I think the app also grew up. Now there’s so much more that you can do. While Martin has found her niche with dancing and lifestyle content, she says there’s something out there for everyone. There’s like creators who are huge when it comes to comedy, some still do lip syncing, some cooking videos, tutorials. You can do whatever you want as long as it’s fun, it’s quick and it catches people’s eye. Stay at home orders have propelled the app’s rapid growth in the United States. The U.S. is third in terms of downloads and second in terms of revenue, and its influence continues to grow.
Viral dances and memes have propelled a number of songs to the top of the U.S. charts, most famously, Old Town Road in 2019 . And now the moms, dads and siblings of the TikTok o bsessed have began to get in on the trends also , learning dances and performing challenges together. You’re still laughing at them, but actually the fact that parents are getting on it, I mean they needed that demo so badly to even make it to this level that they’re at now. In order to build out a sustainable revenue model, e xperts say that TikTok eventually needs to attract older users. Advertisers are going after broader demographics and especially those with purchasing power. TikTok claims that all American user’s data is stored within the U.S. and is not subject to Chinese law, many security experts remain skeptical. Similar concerns exists in India, where data protection laws are weaker and thus citizens are more vulnerable. Regulators are going to be very weary of that separation. Most recently, the app received criticism for what it said was a technical glitch, in which post tagged with #BlackLivesMatter and #GeorgeFloyd appeared to have zero views when they actually have over two billion. And in the past, both India and Indonesia have instituted brief bans on the app due to concerns over inappropriate content like violence and pornography. Lastly, there are ongoing issues regarding children’s privacy.

TikTok Ban Hits Advertisers and Brands; CEO Mayer Addresses Indian ...

Experts say that TikTok’s long-term prospects depend upon its ability to keep users engaged while building out a sustainable monetization strategy. YouTube could be seen as a model in the way that YouTube shares advertising revenue with its content creators. Mayer’s background in streaming services also has both analysts and creators excited about what new forms of content may lie on the horizon. I have been begging TikTok to get into the streaming game. People have speculated that TikTok might get involved in original programming. To make TikTok sustainable, you’re going to have to do long-form content. I don’t see a version where you make 60 second videos forever and it stays cool for another two to three years. King also says TikTok’s live-streaming feature has room to grow. It’s super popular in China, but hasn’t yet taken off in the U.S. I think what’s next for TikTok is how they figure out how to make money, how they figure out how to create a home for advertisers, and how they make sure that content creators themselves want to stick around and don’t want to go jump off to whatever the next cool app is going to be.

Why Affirmations Don’t Work, and Sometimes They Do

Why Affirmations Don’t Work, and Sometimes They Do
Why Affirmations Work
Why Affirmations Don’t Work
If you repeat an affirmation, with which you’re not in agreement with, there could be some subconscious resistance, which may defeat the affirmation.

When there’s low self-esteem, or when in difficult situations, the mind thinks on the present situation, and finds it difficult, or almost impossible, to consider a special , positive situation. This creates inner resistance, lack of belief, and expecting the affirmation to not work.

In this situation, your attention goes to your current, negative situation, rather than that specialize in what you actually want.

When there’s inner resistance and lack of belief, repeating the affirmations might cause you to more conscious of your problems and of the gap between your current situation, and the words you are repeating. Since the mind is concentrated on the matter , and not on the positive affirmation, this aggravates things .

If you focus your attention on a problem, instead of focusing on a solution, you make the problem bigger. When you do so, you improve your problems and make a negative state of mind. Instead of focusing on the positive, you focus on the negative.

This does not mean that affirmations do not work. On the contrary, this proves that they do work, when you use them correctly, and the right attitude.

Why Affirmations Work

Affirmations work and make results, albeit the result’s negative. This happens when you focus on what you do not want, and got it. This happens quite often.

You will get results, positive or negative, in accordance with the words you repeat and therefore the thoughts you think that .

The words you repeat affect your conscious and subconscious minds, your behavior, your attitude, and the way people teat you and relate to you.

For people that are during a very negative mental situation, affirmations won’t be the proper thing. They might need other means to assist themselves to divert their mind from negative thoughts. They also need to gain self-esteem and strengthen their desire to help themselves. Afterwards, they might try repeating affirmations.

However, if you’re like most of the people , sometimes negative and sometimes positive in your attitude and behavior, affirmation could assist you become more positive, energetic, happy and successful.

To get results, you would like to understand what you would like , specialise in the words you’re repeating, and feel and believe they’re true.

As you continue using affirmations, you’d gradually become a more positive person, and learn to divert your attention faraway from your problems and current situation, and specialise in the positive situation you would like to make in your life.

To use affirmations effectively, you must have no doubts about your ability to achieve what you are affirming.

If it were possible to see what is going inside the minds of successful people, we would see that they consciously or unconsciously repeatedly tell themselves that they are going to succeed. They often repeat positive affirmations, without knowing anything about affirmations.

EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION.

COMMUNICATION:

Two-way process of reaching mutual understanding, in which participants not only exchange (encode-decode) information, news, ideas and feelings but also create and share meaning. In general, communication is a means of connecting people or places. In business, it is a key function of management–an organization cannot operate without communication between levels, departments and employees.

The ability to communicate effectively with superiors, colleagues, and staff is essential, no matter what industry you work in. Workers in the digital age must know how to effectively convey and receive messages in person as well as via phone, email, and social media. What skills do employers look for? Which communication skills will help ensure your success?

Top 10 Communication Skills Here are the top 10 communication skills that will help you stand out in today’s job market.

1. Listening communicator. No one likes communicating with someone who only cares about putting in her two cents, and does not take the time to listen to the other person. If you’re not a good listener, it’s going to be hard to comprehend what you’re being asked to do.

Being a good listener is one of the best ways to be a good

the time to practice active listening. Active listening involves paying close attention to what the other person is saying, asking clarifying questions, and phrasing what the person says to ensure understanding (“So, what you’re saying Through active listening, you can better understand”)

Nonverbal communication – Your body language, eye contact, hand gestures, and tone all color the message you are trying to convey. A relaxed, open stance arms open, legs relaxed), and a friendly tone will make you appear approachable, and will encourage others to speak openly with you.

Eve contact is also important; you want to look the person in the eye to demonstrate that you are focused on the person and the conversation (however, be sure not to stare at the person, which can make him or her uncomfortable).

Also pay attention to other people’s nonverbal signals while you are talking.

often, nonverbal signals convey how a person is really feeling. For example, if the person is not looking you in the eye, he or she might be uncomfortable or hiding the truth.

3. Clarity and Concision – Good communication means saying just enough – don’t say too little or talk too much. Try to convey your message in as few words as possible. Say what you want clearly and directly, whether you’re speaking to someone in person, on the phone, or via email. If you ramble on, your listener will either tune you out or will be unsure of exactly what you want. Think about what you want to say before you say it; this will help you to avoid talking excessively and/or confusing your audience.

4. Friendliness – Through a friendly tone, a personal question, or simply a smile, you will encourage your coworkers to engage in open and honest communication with you. It’s important to be nice and polite in all your workplace communications.

This is important in both face-to-face and written communication. When you can, personalize your emails to coworkers and/or employees a quick “I hope you all had a good weekend” at the start of an email can personalize a message and make the recipient feel more appreciated.

.Confidence – It is important to be confident in all of your interactions with others.

confidence ensures your coworkers that you believe in and will follow through with, what you are saying. Exuding confidence can be as simple as making eye contact using a firm but friendly tone (avoid making statements sound like questions), of course, be careful not to sound arrogant or aggressive. Be sure you are alive listening to and empathizing with the other person.

6. Empathy – Even when you disagree with an employer, coworker, or employee, it is important for you to understand and respect their point of view. Using phrases as simple as “I understand where you are coming from” demonstrates that you have been listening to the other person and respect their opinions.

7. Open-Mindedness – A good communicator should enter any conversation with a flexible, open mind. Be open to listening to and understanding the other person’s point of view, rather than simply getting your message across. By being willing to enter into a dialogue, even with people with whom you disagree, you will be able to have more honest, productive conversations.

8. Respect – People will be more open to communicating with you if you convey respect for them and their ideas. Simple actions like using a person’s name, making eye contact, and actively listening when a person speaks will make the person feel appreciated. On the phone, avoid distractions and stay focused on the conversation. Convey respect through email by taking the time to edit your message. If you send a sloppily written, confusing email, the recipient will think you do not respect her enough to think through your communication with her.

9. Feedback – Being able to appropriately give and receive feedback is an important communication skill. Managers and supervisors should continuously look for ways to provide employees with constructive feedback, be it through email, phone calls, or weekly status updates. Giving feedback involves giving praise as well – something as simple as saying “good job” or “thanks for taking care of that” to an employee can greatly increase motivation. Similarly, you should be able to accept, and even encourage, feedback from others. 40 Picking the Right Medium – An important communication skill is to simply know the form of communication to use. For example, some serious conversations layoffs, changes in salary, etc.) are almost always best done in person.

Is Introversion bad?

There have been several debates for ages since the beginning about whether introversion is good or bad. Many people have come up with their views about it which simply state that introversion is a nothing more than a curse for people and introverts have to suffer from it throughout their whole life. Many people also talk about how introversion refrains people from opening up and mixing with other people whoch basically restricts their potential to learn more from people around them.

Although it is true that there are some drawbacks to the characteristics of the introverts, it does not necessarily mean it is a bad thing to be an introvert. Firstly, introverts tend to spend a lot more time with themselves than those who are extroverted and it leads them to have ample opportunities to be creative. Time is the most important thing when it comes to producing art forms and due to our hectic schedules of life many of us fail to have some “me” time on a daily badis. However, introverts never fail to break through the norms and find enormous amount of free time for themselves which leads them to be as creative as possible. Bill Gates, Albert Einstein, Emma Watson, J.K Rowling among a million others seem to be introverts who managed to break the conventional preconceived false notions that are generally associated with introversion.

Introverts tend to be very selective when it comes to choosing people who would be their close friends due to which they seldom choose wrong people and are less likely to have trust issues. Nowadays, it has become a huge problem for people to find genuine friends and genuine people in general but introverts seldom pick the wrong people since they are more intuitive and they do not easily open up. It is therefore a positive side of being an introvert.
Many people struggle when they are expected to work alone. Introverts never fail at producing the best when they work alone. They do not need to discuss their project with others for suggestions or approval which makes them self sufficient and also they are the ones who end up producing the best content as ever.

Introverts can be really good friends. They never show fake feelings or emotions just to fit into the world or cope up with others. They do whatever they feel like and are very straightforward which is a very genuine yet a rare quality nowadays. They fail at showing fake sympathy and they never show off which is why they end up being the best of friends one can ever have. On top of that since they do not socialize that much, any secret would always be safe with them no matter what. They are also the most helpful and generous individuals to come across. They know the struggle of not getting anything done on your own due to which they will do whatever it takes to help you out whenever you get into trouble. They prefer quality over quantity and end up having very less friends in their life but they never create any tantrums that would create trust issues for the others for they are genuine and true by their heart.

The “F” word

A few weeks back, a girl named Divyangna Trivedi stirred a lot of controversies online after her video on ‘I am against today’s Feminism’ went viral. In the video, she argued against something she called “today’s feminism” – male-bashing, women supremacy, and gender bias.

Instead of being bashed very badly, the most surprising thing was that there were people who were actually supporting her. Even if we ignore her and say that she is just too childish and naïve to be given so much attention but that doesn’t hides the fact that feminism is now the word that is used as an insult now. Everytime a woman rises up for her rights, she is titled as “feminist types”.

This just implies that the structure of society is just so toxic towards women that whenever someone
tries to challenge it, the male dominated, patriarchal, heterosexual world comes up with a plan to take it down.

Women being denied promotion if they are mothers, pregnant or are even married just because they won’t be able to balance the house and work life, says a lot about the gender differences in corporate sector. Despite of the fact that these women claim to be self dependent and empowered, they suffer through these things on a daily basis. We are okay with men walking in a vest and shorts but we totally judge a girl when she comes out wearing a decent crop top! This mentality needs to change and to do that, everyone should claim themselves as feminists because the movement is what will get women out
of the unsafe, unprotected environment.

I once heard a man say, “women are diamonds and they need to be secured” but he didn’t realized that this mentality is the most problematic. Women are not objects to be kept in a lockers, instead, they are just human beings. Nobody should be given a special status or position just because of the physical
structures they are born with and the women don’t need to be protected but to be left free.

Feminism is a simple movement that challenges the values inherent in patriarchy. Patriarchy
commodifies women and encourages men to be violent, dominating and uncompromising thereby dehumanizing them.

Feminists are not seeking absolute equality because that is practically impossible in a gendered society.
What they are seeking is a right to be treated as par with other human beings. Social prejudices have led to oppressive and exploitative practices against women. The psyche of people needs to change. Society
needs to stop treating its women as lesser humans or an inferior species. Feminists nowhere proclaimdown with men. They just want an equitable treatment, equality of opportunity.

Moreover, feminism
not only stands for the equality between men and women but also between LGBTQIA community and black women. The people, who have suffered the most alongside women because of the patriarchy infused in our minds. Our “F” word supports all the people out there who have been oppressed then and now.

One can’t escape from the fact that men too go through sexual assaults but that doesn’t mean that feminism ignores it all. It stands with the men where they are being harassed too. If a woman falsely accuse a man of rape, she is too a culprit of the same level as a man would have been, if he rapes a woman.

Thus, the misconceptions about feminism is what created a mass population who think
feminism is all about misandry.

“Humans and Their Fight With Scarce Resources”

Humans have been surviving on this planet for ages and have worked hard to make their life more comfortable and ease that it looks today. Humans have travelled in search of better resources be it water, good shelter. This hasn’t changed even in today’s world. People do travel for better job opportunities, better comfort for life and better living standard. Every year huge numbers of people migrate from one country to another in search of making their life much better. But we have been seeing a drastic change since the last few years as the population has seen a drastic jump with increased birth rate and much decreasing mortality rate. This has not only made resources scarce but a reason for our coming generations to wery.

We humans have been using natural resources and fossil fuels for quite a time which has not only led to much of its depletion but also to cause various natural phenomena like Global Warming and Climate Change to occur.

  1.  Warming up of earth not only increases the temperature of earth every year but also is leading to melt the glaciers in the polar area.
  2. Waste resources and emissions from industries have made the water to pollute, air to contaminate and food less rich in protein and vitamins.
  3. The land has been decreasing to make more homes, hospitals, college, and various other essentials for humans. This is leading to cutting of trees, to increase the land space.
  4. The changing climate has led to various aspects of nature including rain. In some areas the rain amount has decreased, while in some areas it has increased and led to flood in those areas.
  5. Also building in concrete roads doesn’t allow most of these rain water to enter the ground. This is the main reason that groundwater is getting down day by day, thus lacking clean water resources for humans.
  6. Plastics and its components are manufactured and thrown away in huge amounts every year. This is leading to add up piles of waste and also pollution for our oceans and river water.
  7. The increase in waste products has also led to increased problems for humans as we lack places for these to dump. We cannot just burn them as these do contain components especially plastic which produces harmful gases when burnt can be harmful and cause cancer if inhaled.
  8. Also due to lack of rain and groundwater for proper growth of crops, many farming techniques have changed and artificial methods are being used to produce most of the vegetables and fruit. This has a direct effect on human health and this can prove to be dangerous.

It’s high time to understand the need to save our natural resources. The shift to cleaner fuel, cleaner production techniques would really bring out a drastic change in saving our earth. We need to understand the importance of these natural phenomena like global warming and climate change and their effect on humans . We need to come together so as to save us, our coming generation and thus our mother earth. We need to bring out technological as well as other advancement so as to make sure we make our earth abundant in resources again and make this place as it was with collective hardworking, dedication and understanding so as to save our earth and thus humanity.

Being literate is just knowing how to read and write. Every Tom, Dick and Harry can do it. Being educated is actually applying what you have read.

You need to be educated to be literate but you need not be literate to be educated. A simple example would be former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K. Kamaraj. He was illiterate (could not read and write) but he knew so much that experts were astounded by his knowledge.

The scenario explained below is based on a speech I heard from Mr. Suki Sivam, an excellent Tamil orator and motivational speaker.

When he spoke about Swami Vivekananda, he said about a famous quote from him “We have graduated but we are not educated”

The Incident

Let’s go to the incident he had (Now this was based on his real-life experience as narrated by famous Tamil speaker Sukee Sivam)

This happened in a train going towards a rural area in Tamil Nadu

There were two people in a train and both were well educated and returning to their hometown for a vacation. Both these people were working in a big company and were talking loudly in English. An old man who was following their conversation but could not follow it, spoke to them

Old Man : You kids look like you have studied a lot. What work do you do?

Person 1 : (Scornfully) You won’t understand. You are not educated

Old Man : (Calmly) No matter. You are educated. You can tell me in a way in which I can understand.

Needless to say, the educated fools hung their faces in shame

The world’s most mysterious book

Books, a medium for recording information in the form of writing or images, typically composed of many pages bound together and protected by a cover. The technical term for such a physical arrangement is called as codex. Books and tomes are an important part of our lives. They help us gain knowledge and pen it down for future generations.  Thus, it is important for them to be understandable not only to the present generation but also to the future generations. However, there are certain tomes and books out there that are in the form of code or ciphers. Most of them are pursued relentlessly so as to be decipher them by both trained officials and the general public enthusiasts. Yet there seem to be many indecipherable mysterious books that seem to stump any who try to decode them. One such book can be found in the Yale university’s Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript library. There lies the only copy of a two forty-page tome, known as The Voynich Manuscript.

Its mostly referred to as the worlds most mysterious book, because to date there has been little to no progress made in being able to understand this tome. Its vellum pages feature a looping handwriting, and hand drawn illustrations that seem to be out of some dream. It contains many weird images such as real and imaginary plants, floating castles, bathing women, astrology diagrams, zodiac signs and suns and moons with faces upon them, all of which are accompanied by text. At first glance it seems like something out of a stoner’s hallucination, but this 24×16 centimetres book is one of history’s biggest unsolved mysteries. Its name originates from Wilfrid Voynich, a polish bookseller who came across this soon to be world famous document at a Jesuit College in Italy in 1912. Having purchased it from the cash-strapped priest of the college, he eventually brought the book to the US where experts have subsequently puzzled over it for more than a century. Many cryptologists agree that the writing has all the characteristics of a real language, just one that no one has ever seen before. What makes it seem real is that in actual languages we often see letters and groups of letters appear with consistent frequency which the language of the Voynich manuscript follows, thus eliminating the possibility for it to have been generated by any random language generator. Other than that, so far, we know little more that what we can see. What makes it interesting is that it is littered with scroll like embellishments and that it seems to have been written by two or more hands and illustrated by yet another. Over the years three main theories have emerged, each with its varied following amongst the populace. The first theory establishes that it is written in cipher, with a secret code that is meant to hide a secret meaning. The second theory puts forward that it is a hoax, written in gibberish, to make money off a gullible buyer. Many believe that this is the work of a medieval con man, while some believe it was Voynich himself. The third theory which so far has the most backing within the cryptology department is that this manuscript contains an actual language but in an unknown script. Perhaps its medieval authors were trying to create letters for a language that was spoken but not yet written. In such a case the Voynich manuscript could be like the rongorongo script from Easter island, which is unreadable now as the culture that made it has collapsed. However, a few breakthroughs have been seen, the first in carbon dating. Its provenance can be traced to Rome in 1612, while its carbon dating of the vellum pages shows it to be around 1420. Also, linguistic researchers have recently proposed a few provisional identifications of a few words from the tome.

The question remains, what will we find when we finally decode this manuscript? The dream journal of an illustrator, a bunch of nonsense or the lost knowledge of a forgotten culture?

COORDINATION IN AN ORGANIZATION

Coordination is the process of synchronizing the activities and works of different departments of an organization to show and ensure the unity and group or team work. Coordination allows the company to progress because obviously a team can work better than an individual. It helps in maintaining harmony and balance between the works in an organization. A group maintains a balance and thus provides proper quality work to its organization. It is basically a force that binds all the management functions. Coordination helps in running the various things in an organization such as purchase, production, sales and finance. Any organization with the coordination gives better results than others. Coordination is referred as the essence of management because it is sometimes considered as a separate function of management. Coordination is essential in maintaining the harmony among individuals working together so that everyone gets the praise for the part of work they have done. To elaborate that coordination is not a separate function, rather it is the part of the management, it can be seen in different parts which can be also said as the stages of coordination –

  1. Planning is the first stage of coordinating in which the top management decides what and how to execute the complete work.
  2. Next is the organizing step, in which the organizational plans are actually organized as per planning.
  3. Third stage is staffing which is performed after the plans are organized.
  4. Next stage of coordination is directing in which plans which are organized and staffed are actually executed.
  5. Last and final stage of coordination is controlling in which all the activities which are newly executed are controlled so that no confusion and problem occurs.

WHY IS COORDINATION IMPORTANT?????
The need for coordination in an organization arises due to following reasons –

  1. Growth in size of organization i.e. as the organization grows, number of employees increases and thus to manage more number of individuals there is a need of coordination.
  2. Functional differentiation in an organization i.e. different departments of an organization need to be coordinated for better management.
  3. Specialization in the people of organization may lead to discrimination due to which coordination is necessary.

CHARACTERISTICS OF COORDINATION

  1. Coordination tends to integrate different individual efforts in the form of a group.
  2. Coordination ensures and protects unity of actions and binds all the individuals of the departments of the organization.
  3. Coordination is a continuous process i.e. it never stops and goes on like management. It starts at the planning stage and continues till controlling stage. It can never stop if the organization needs to work better and gain popularity.
  4. Coordination like management, is all pervasive i.e. it is universal and is required at each level and in each department of the organization. It is basically a binding force, which can never stop.
  5. Coordination is the responsibility of managers i.e. all the head departments are responsible for coordinating to other departments because in the first stage of coordination which is planning, higher authorities are required.
