The effects of video games on a child’s behaviour

Video gaming has become a popular activity for people of all ages. Many children and adolescents spend large amounts of time playing them, although no one should have more than two hours total of screen time in a day. Video gaming is a multi-billion dollar industry, bringing in more money than movies and DVDs combined. Video games have become very sophisticated and realistic and some games connect to the Internet, which allow children and adolescents to play online with unknown adults and peers.

While some games have educational content, many of the most popular games emphasize negative themes. They promote the killing of people or animals, the use and abuse of drugs and alcohol, criminal behavior, disrespect for the law and other authority figures, sexual exploitation and violence towards women, racial, sexual and gender stereotypes, and foul language obscenities and obscene gestures. Examples of video games not acceptable for children because they have these themes include the popular ones Grand Theft Auto, Call of Duty, and Mortal Kombat.

There is growing research on the effects of video games on children. Studies of children exposed to violence have shown that they can become immune or numb to the horror of violence, imitate the violence they see and show more aggressive behavior with greater exposure to violence. Studies have also shown that the more realistic and repeated the exposure to violence, the greater the impact on children. Children and adolescents can become overly involved and even obsessed with video games, leading to poor social skills, time away from family time, school work and other hobbies, lower grades, reading less, exercising less, becoming overweight, and having aggressive thoughts and behaviors.

So how can you, as a parent, protect your child against these types of video games? First, you can check the Entertainment Software Rating Board ratings to learn about the game’s content. Every video game will actually have a label on the front to tell you what type of game it is. If it says M for mature, it’s not for your child.

Play the video games with your child to experience the game’s content and know exactly what your child is playing. Set clear rules about the game’s content for both playing time in and outside of your home. Strongly warn your children about the potential serious dangers of Internet contacts and relationships while playing online. There are a lot of online predators that will look for children specifically playing video games and this can lead to them meeting in real life. Finally, remember that you are a role model for your child. Make sure the video games you play as an adult are ones that you would want your child to play.

If you are concerned as a parent that your child is spending too much time playing video games or your child starts becoming obsessed with aggressive or violent video games, make sure you set some limits. You’re not allowed to play games for one hour after all the homework is done and encourage your child to participate in other activities so they’re not drawn to those video games. By being aware of what games are out there, you can help your child make appropriate decisions about gaming no matter where your child plays.

How To Figure Out The Next Big Move In Your Life Journey

Life is complex. One day you’re happy, working on your daily tasks, and the next day you wake up, thinking: “What the fuck should I do with my life?”

Am I right? We’ve all been there. When one of my readers responded to an article last week, I asked her: “How’s it going?”

She said: “Am doing well. Been interesting times figuring out which direction to go to next in my life journey.”

Last week I talked to a friend who was in the same position. And everyone will face the same challenge one way or the other over the course of a long career.

I’ve been there many times as well. No one is immune to being confused. Let’s face it — there are literally a million things you can do with your life.

And most of us realize that we can’t do everything we want. We also have to understand that anything that’s worth it in life is hard to obtain.

Great health, wealth, and happiness don’t happen by themselves. If you want good things to happen, you must take massive action.

But what type of action? What should you do?

I want to share 2 strategies with you that I’ve personally used in the past to figure out my next big move.

1. Burn Your Bridges

“Education is all a matter of building bridges.”
— Ralph Ellison

Look, I can’t tell you to want to do with your life. No one should decide that other than you.

But I can tell you about ways that help you to make a decision. People are lazy by nature. If it was up to us, we would protect the status quo, sit at home, and eat cookies all day.

We must realize that without a reason, we will never change.

“But what if I don’t have a reason?”

Force a reason.

I always wanted to live and work abroad for a while. And year after year went by without me taking action.

So in 2014, I got fed up with my indecisiveness. I canceled the lease of my apartment, handed over all my responsibilities at our family business, and FORCED myself to do something.

Lo and behold, I did. A few weeks later I was on my way to London with an awesome job offer in my pocket from an IT research firm.

You can’t expect good things to happen when you’re living a cushy life. You need a spark. Sometimes that happens from the outside (a family loss, being fired, dumped, etc).

But if nothing happens, you have to create the spark by burning your bridges.

Instead of wanting to change, you must change.

You can also burn the bridges in your mind. To grow, we must say goodbye to old beliefs.

2. Do Nothing

“Not all those who wander are lost.”
― J.R.R. Tolkien

I don’t mean ‘eat cookies all day.’ No, I mean don’t try to force anything. It’s the exact opposite strategy of burning your bridges.

“Darius, you’re contradicting yourself.”

So? Life is full of contradictions. Get used to it.

Look at your life. Have you tried burning your bridges? Didn’t work out? Try a different strategy.

I never get why people get all hung up on opposing strategies. Life is dynamic and requires you to adapt all the time.

When I came back to The Netherlands after working abroad for 1,5 years, I didn’t exactly know what I wanted to do. I still had my business, so I didn’t have to worry about money.

But I also wasn’t satisfied. I wanted to do something that mattered. But because I didn’t know what, I just didn’t force anything. I knew I needed a different strategy this time.

So I did my job, spent time with my friends and family, worked out a lot, and just enjoyed my life.

I just stopped worrying and thinking about my next move. That’s very liberating.

And after six months or so, I figured it out. I can tell you how I did it, but that’s not going to help you because you have to figure out how YOU are going to do it.

And that’s the most important thing about figuring out your next move. It’s called ‘figuring it out’ for a reason. It’s not called ‘here’s your life path served on a platter.’

Just be okay with that. It’s about the journey anyway. You better enjoy every step along the way. Especially the difficult ones.

How To Be A Kind Human Being

If you want to live a happy life and achieve all your goals, there’s one essential trait you can’t go without: Being kind.

Franklin D. Roosevelt put it well: “Human kindness has never weakened the stamina or softened the fiber of a free people. A nation does not have to be cruel to be tough.”

And yet, cruel people are everywhere. You see it in the workplace, relationships, families, and on the street.

One thing I find is that many of us mistake kindness for weakness. But who says you can’t be kind and firm and the same time? Many think it’s one or the other.

When we study successful people, billionaires, and athletes, we always talk about their work ethic, creativity, and leadership. Those things are essential, and we can learn a lot from them. But one thing that gets less attention is kindness.

That’s why this article and the following observations are about kindness. Kindness has the ability, more than anything else, to improve your life instantly.

You Don’t Have To Prove Yourself

Yes, you’re awesome. But you don’t have to take every opportunity to prove it to others.

Every time you correct someone, try to make a point when people already get it, or behave in another annoying way, you’re engaging in a pissing contest.

Go ahead and piss all you want. No one’s going to like you any better other than yourself. And we all know that ‘me, myself, and I’ is not a good strategy.

Show Humility

You might have achieved a lot in your life, but don’t let it get to your head. Even if you’re at the top of the world, there’s no reason to rub it in other people’s faces. Be humble. Be kind.

Mike Tyson put it best: “If you are not humble, life will visit humbleness upon you.”

You Don’t Always Have To Share Your Opinion

People always want to give their views about everything. And that’s cool, there’s nothing wrong with sharing your thoughts.

But most of the time it’s unwanted. Every time you say “I would do this, or I would say that”, stop for a minute and think whether you’re actually helping the other person or whether you are stroking your ego.

It’s fine to share how you would handle something, but the truth is: They are not you. So stop giving advice that no one is waiting for.

People are different, and that means everyone looks at the world differently. Recognize that instead of trying to change that. Just be there for people.

Be Open To Others

We were all born naked, crying, and pooping. If someone looks different, talks different, has less money, or whatever, it’s not a reason to judge them. Instead, be open to them.

It’s unfair to not give people a chance before they even try.

Don’t Take Everything Personally

We get offended too quickly. We say things like: “She didn’t call me back.” “He didn’t say thank you.”

Every time you say that he or she should have done this or that, you’re taking things personally.

Have you ever stopped for a second, and thought that the other person maybe didn’t do it to hurt your feelings? They’re only people—like you.

Understand That You’re Not The Centre Of The Universe

Let’s be honest, we only care about ourselves. But that doesn’t mean the world revolves around us.

We have a tendency to make everything about ourselves. In conflicts, we say things like: “How is that my fault?”

Well, it’s not your fault. Why do you even think that? Oh wait, you think the world is about you — that’s why.

Life is not a zero-sum game. It’s not you against the world. Work together and find a solution. That’s the kind thing to do.

Don’t Criticize What You Can’t Understand

Bob Dylan said that in 1964. What has changed? Not much: People still criticize the things they don’t understand.

I get it — criticism can be good. But most of the time it’s pointless. Because not everything is for everyone. Some people don’t get you, and they probably never will. And that’s fine.

Criticism is only good if it actually helps someone or some cause. Often, it does the opposite. It divides people instead of bringing them together.

If you don’t understand something — try. That’s all people expect from you, just try to be kind.

Show Compassion

We all have our own challenges. To you, someone else’s problems might seem like nothing. But sometimes we stop seeing that other people struggle.

If you can’t see that it’s not easy for people, you’re not compassionate. Kindness means empathy for all — even if you can’t relate to it.

Don’t Hold A Grudge

Let’s say that someone does something unpleasant to you. Or maybe someone says something hurtful. Is that person now a bad person for ever?

Do you see how stupid that sounds? Get over yourself and forgive people. Look ahead and realize that every day is a new day.

Show Interest In Others

People are so falsely interested in each other, it’s mindboggling. Many people are only interested in others for one reason: Comparing themselves.

Why else would you always check other people’s Facebook or LinkedIn? Or ask someone, who’s down, how they are? Some people use others as benchmarks. There’s no kindness in that.

Real interest takes real questions. If you truly care about others, you care about what’s going on in other people’s lives.

Listen To Others

How often do you ask a question and you start thinking about something else? Most of us think about what we want to say, or we think of the next question we want to ask.

Most interactions we have are just a superficial exchange of meaningless questions. Break through the surface and have real conversations. Care.

But you can’t do that without listening carefully. Listen to what people struggle with, what they love, how they talk. Try to understand who they are.

“Kindness in words creates confidence. Kindness in thinking creates profoundness. Kindness in giving creates love.”  — Lao Tzu

There you have it — my observations about kindness. One word of caution: I’m no kindness expert. I’m also not Mother Theresa.

But at least, I try. You can try it if you want as well —being kind is free.

Stop Trying To Be Realistic

We always try to think in “realistic” terms about everything:

  • “It can’t be done.”
  • “What? Do you want to build an airplane? You’re crazy.”
  • “You’ll never make it.”
  • “Everyone fails and so will you.”
  • “1,000 songs in your pocket? You must be kidding, right?”
  • “An electrical car with a range of 300 miles? What’s next? A time machine?”
  • “You want to be an artist? It’s safer to get a job.”
  • “Why would you travel the world?”

What does it take when everyone tells you that you’re wrong? Delusion. At least, a little of it.

Everything that is not ordinary is crazy. Well, that’s what people tell you.

And if you don’t want to live an ordinary life, you have to be stubborn and stupid. Because it’s normal to live an ordinary life. That doesn’t take any courage.

You don’t need guts to get a normal job, buy a house, and do the usual stuff.

Most people are realistic. And you know what, they’re right. You should be normal, it’s the right thing to do.

  • It’s not realistic to be the first one to build an airplane
  • It’s not realistic to travel the world and earn money
  • It’s not realistic to build an electric car
  • It’s not realistic to live your dream
  • It’s not realistic to write a novel
  • It’s not realistic to make art

But what’s the fun of living a life when you know the outcome already? If you never try, you never have to deal with the hurt of failure—I’ll gives you that.

“Yeah, but an extraordinary life is not for everybody. I have bills to pay. I’m not lucky.”

I realize that you have shit going on in your life. But doesn’t everybody?

I’ve never met a ‘perfect’ person. Have you?

Rich people have problems. Poor people have problems.

But is that a reason to not do something? Life is also not a contest of “my problems are worse than yours.” If it’s the attention that you want, get a dog.

THERE IS ALWAYS A REASON TO NOT LIVE THE LIFE YOU WANT.

The truth is: You’re trying to be realistic.

And I’m telling you: DON’T. Think outside the box. Think of flying cars. Unconventional living. Space travel. Whatever.

Be crazy, weird, delusional, out of your mind, or whatever term people use for not ordinary. Do extraordinary things.

“People do not decide to become extraordinary. They decide to accomplish extraordinary things.” —Sir Edmund Hillary

Because once you decide to be realistic, your life will play out like a movie you’ve seen a dozen times. Is it still worth it to sit through it? Yeah, sure. But it’s not extraordinary.

Next time people call you crazy or think you’re weird, just realize that you’re on the right path. It’s not a reason to stop, it’s every reason to keep going.

Go. Go. Go.

Slum tourism in developing country

[8:25 PM, 7/14/2021] Priyanshi: Slum tourism in developing country

What comes to your head when you listen to the word developing country? How do you imagine developing countries? Some say developing countries are the countries lacking in capital, resources, infrastructure, revenues, and many more things. So with this, the main target of developing countries becomes to grow in the capital, money.
Now here comes the slums that exist in abundance in these developing countries. What do you think can slum tourism help the people of slums and these developing countries in any way?
let’s discuss, firstly we need to understand that most people consider slum people completely helpless and they don’t even prefer going there for tourism and instead they prefer going in the urban areas. Sometimes people from foreign countries do want to visit these slums and the government of developing countries must encourage slum tourism.
The benefit that will come to these slum people when slum tourism will be encouraged will be that they will get the opportunity to grow economically, when foreigners will purchase something from the residents, then their sell will surely increase. Slum people will also be able to show their talents to others and there will be chances for more job creation. And when there will be job creation, the country will automatically develop as in the sense people will have a better lifestyle and a developing country will move towards being the developed one.
Slum tourism will help the people change their perception towards the people living over there. These slums are called slums because there is a lack of connectivity, the horizon of vision of people is very much limited for these slum people. People don’t even bother to show some visit or any kind of awareness for these people. But when slum tourism will be there, people will come to know about the problems these people face and will try to connect to these people. When this connectivity will increase then definitely government will start focusing more on these areas and will pay more heed to the developmental tasks that should be performed for the benefit of these people.
We all are very well aware that westernization has completely taken place in the urban area and robbed the national culture. But when tourists want to see the national culture then they will only be able to see that in the slum areas because their people live simply and are not at all aware of the determination and perform all the customs and rituals.
So, we just can’t remove the slums but at least we can try to make the slum people grow and so that they can also try to put some effort into making their country a developed one. We can simple just not stop slum tourism just because we want to hide our poor sides of the country from the world instead we should make others as well as socially aware and give them a chance to grow, chance to improve because hiding the flaws won’t let us get rid of them but working on them will help us to get them slowly fade away.

Raja –The Festival that celebrates WOMANHOOD

To celebrate the arrival of monsoon, the joyous festival of Raja is arranged for 3 days by the people of Odisha.
Raja is the only festival in the world which celebrates WOMANHOOD or MENSTRUATION. The term RAJA came from RAJASWALA meaning a menstruating woman. It is believed that mother earth menstruates for three days in the mid of June. It is believed that the mother Goddess Earth or the divine wife of Lord Vishnu undergoes menstruation during the primary three days. The fourth day is named Vasumati Snana, or ceremonial bath of Bhudevi. In the medieval time, the festival became more popular as an agricultural holiday marking the worship of Bhudevi, who is the wife of lord Jagannath. A silver idol of Bhudevi is to be found in the Puri Temple beside Lord Jagannath .The Odia people don’t do any kind of agricultural activity like ploughing or sowing as mother earth is predicted to be browsing rejuvenation.
The first day is named Pahili Raja, second day is Mithuna Sankranti, third day is Bhudaaha or Basi Raja. The final fourth day is named Basumati snana, during which the women bath the grinding stone as a logo of Bhumi with turmeric paste and adore with flower, sindoor etc. All type of seasonal fruits is offered to mother Bhumi. The day before first day is called Sajabaja or preparatory day during which the houses, kitchen including grinding stones are cleaned, spices are ground for three days. During these three days women and girls take rest from work and wear new Saree, Alata, and ornaments. According to popular belief as women menstruate, which is a sign of fertility, so also Mother Earth menstruates. So all three days of the festival are considered to be the menstruating period of Mother Earth. During the festival all agricultural operations remain suspended. As a mark of respect towards the world during her menstruation days, all agricultural works involves a standstill during lately . Significantly, it’s a festival of the unmarried girls, the potential mothers. They all observe the restrictions prescribed for a menstruating woman. The very first day, they rise before dawn, do their hair, anoint their bodies with turmeric paste and oil and then take the purificatory bath in a river or tank. Peculiarly, bathing for the remainder two days is prohibited. They don’t walk bare-foot don’t scratch the world , don’t grind, don’t tear anything apart, don’t cut and don’t cook. During all the three consecutive days they’re seen within the better of dresses and decorations, eating cakes and rich food at the homes of friends and relatives, spending long cheery hours, moving up and down on improvised swings, rending the village sky with their merry impromptu songs.

5 Trending Technologies in the Whole World

It is 21st century , a century full of technology .People can’t believe how much human have made process in science & technology . There are some trending technologies mentioned below which will give you an idea about human’s progression in technology & their presence in our daily life which make our living easy .

AI technology: It`s full form is Artificial Intelligence. It is a machine, which is able to do human like works, have a human like capability & almost human like intelligence. It is a high level technology controlled by human.  Creator of the word ‘Artificial Intelligence’, Professor John McCarthy told “Artificial Intelligence is the science an engineering of making intelligent machines”. It has wild range of working domain like Robotics, Health care, Marketing, Business analytics and others. AI, machine learning and deep learning have a deep connection among them but they are not same . A great portion of Object detection, Robotics, Expert system are consist of AI. AI has been categories in 3 sections —

1) Artificial Narrow Intelligence: Known as weak AI. AI of type of Ai can be seen in the function of Google Map, Google Alexa, face verification of iphone, Sophia(Robot) etc.

2) Artificial General Intelligence: It is stronger that Artificial Narrow AI.

3) Artificial Super Intelligence: It is still a hypothetical belief in the field of AI technology. It is a belief that this a AI which will surpass the human in future. Such type of AIs can only be seen in movies till now. Some example for usages of AIs in various field —

IBM Watson (in medical) ,Google Eye Doctor (in medical field), Face verification in Facebook, Instagram (in security field) .If you doesn’t know than you should know that Google Recommendation are also controlled by AI.

IOT: Its full form is Internet of Things. It is a giant web like network which control every important device in systematic way and give us the gathered detailed data about them. It works using sensors which are connected usually to those devices. It simply makes connecting between machine and user or owner or receiver. It is used – traffic light, mobile, factory machine, daily using appliances (like, AC, micro oven) etc. Smart car, smart home, smart cities are made on the basis of IOT.

5G Data Network: 5G are 5th Generation of cellular data network. It is 40 time much fast in speed than our current using network 4G LTE. The leading market kings in this field are Switzerland, South Korea and US. The companies which are working on them are Samsung, Intel, Nokia, Deloitte etc. It will give an opportunity for network operating and user experiences after it’s launching in next year.

Data Science: It is a procedure for collecting, arranging and using of the gathered data in a systematic way and find a solution for customer`s problem or predicts the upcoming result by analyzing and processing it. The greatest example of using this data science technology is UBER .UBER uses data science which make possible for their customer to get a cab at any time. Amazon, Flipkart, Netflix are also using data science in their recommendation and other system.

Virtual Reality: VR are a computer-generated environment with stimulation ,which is actually a virtual world and make the user experience this environment. It has high amount of usages in gaming. Now this technology is also use in research fields and in medical purpose for this phobic people. It is also used in Entertainment, Business and fields.

This 5 technologies, which are mentioned above are not the only trending popular technologies in world . There are so many like Augmented Reality, Robotics, Devops, Machine learning, Deep learning, Tactile VR, Big Data analytics, Internet of Behaviors, Devsecops, Human’s Augmentation, Xaas, Cyber security etc.

The sun won’t die for 5 billion years

In a few billion years, the sun will become a red giant so large that it will engulf our planet. But the Earth will become uninhabitable much sooner than that. After about a billion years the sun will become hot enough to boil our oceans.

The sun is currently classified as a “main sequence” star. This means that it is in the most stable part of its life, converting the hydrogen present in its core into helium. For a star the size of ours, this phase lasts a little over 8 billion years. Our solar system is just over 4.5 billion years old, so the sun is slightly more than halfway through its stable lifetime.

After 8 billion years of happily burning hydrogen into helium are over, the sun’s life gets a little more interesting. Things change because the sun will have run out of hydrogen in its core – all that’s left is the helium. The trouble is that the sun’s core is not hot or dense enough to burn helium.

In a star, gravitational force pulls all the gases towards the centre. When the star has hydrogen to burn, the creation of helium produces enough outward pressure to balance out the gravitational pull. But when the star has nothing left in the core to burn, gravitational forces take over.

Eventually that force compresses the centre of the star to such a degree that it will start burning hydrogen in a small shell around the dead core, which is still full of helium. As soon as the sun begins to burn more hydrogen, it would be considered a “red giant”.

The process of compression in the centre allows the outer regions of the star to expand outwards. The burning hydrogen in the shell around the core significantly increases the brightness of the sun. Because the size of the star has expanded, the surface cools down and goes from white-hot to red-hot. Because the star is brighter, redder and physically larger than before, we dub these stars “red giants”.

Earth’s fiery demise

It is widely understood that the Earth as a planet will not survive the sun’s expansion into a full-blown red giant star. The surface of the sun will probably reach the current orbit of Mars – and, while the Earth’s orbit may also have expanded outwards slightly, it won’t be enough to save it from being dragged into the surface of the sun, whereupon our planet will rapidly disintegrate.

Life on the planet will run into trouble well before the planet itself disintegrates. Even before the sun finishes burning hydrogen, it will have changed from its present state. The sun has been increasing its brightness by about 10% every billion years it spends burning hydrogen. Increased brightness means an increase in the amount of heat our planet receives. As the planet heats up, the water on the surface of our planet will begin to evaporate.

An increase of the sun’s luminosity by 10% over the current level doesn’t sound like a whole lot, but this small change in our star’s brightness will be pretty catastrophic for our planet. This change is a sufficient increase in energy to change the location of the habitable zone around our star. The habitable zone is defined as the range of distances away from any given star where liquid water can be stable on the surface of a planet.

With a 10% increase of brightness from our star, the Earth will no longer be within the habitable zone. This will mark the beginning of the evaporation of our oceans. By the time the sun stops burning hydrogen in its core, Mars will be in the habitable zone, and the Earth will be much too hot to maintain water on its surface.

Uncertain models

This 10% increase in the sun’s brightness, triggering the evaporation of our oceans, will occur over the next billion years or so. Predictions of exactly how rapidly this process will unfold depend on who you talk to. Most models suggest that as the oceans evaporate, more and more water will be present in the atmosphere instead of on the surface. This will act as a greenhouse gas, trapping even more heat and causing more and more of the oceans to evaporate, until the ground is mostly dry and the atmosphere holds the water, but at an extremely high temperature.

As the atmosphere saturates with water, the water held in the highest parts of our atmosphere will be bombarded by high energy light from the sun, which will split apart the molecules and allow the water to escape as hydrogen and oxygen, eventually bleeding the Earth dry of water.

Where the models differ is on the speed with which the earth reaches this point of no return. Some suggest that the Earth will become inhospitable before the 1 billion year mark, since the interactions between the heating planet and the rocks, oceans, and plate tectonics will dry out the planet even faster. Others suggest that life may be able to hold on a little longer than 1 billion years, due to the different requirements of different life forms and periodic releases of critical chemicals by plate tectonics.

The Earth is a complex system – and no model is perfect. However, it seems likely that we have no more than a billion years left for life to thrive on our planet.

Gulliver’s Travels

Gulliver’s Travels, original title Travels into Several Remote Nations of the World, four-part satirical work by Anglo-Irish author Jonathan Swift, published anonymously in 1726 as Travels into Several Remote Nations of the World. A keystone of English literature, it was one of the books that gave birth to the novel form, though it did not yet have the rules of the genre as an organizing tool. A parody of the then popular travel narrative, Gulliver’s Travels combines adventure with savage satire, mocking English customs and the politics of the day.

Summary

The book is written in the first person from the point of view of Lemuel Gulliver, a surgeon and sea captain who visits remote regions of the world, and it describes four adventures. In the first one, Gulliver is the only survivor of a shipwreck, and he swims to Lilliput, where he is tied up by people who are less than 6 inches (15 cm) tall. He is then taken to the capital city and eventually released. The Lilliputians indulge in ridiculous customs and petty debates. Political affiliations, for example, are divided between men who wear high-heeled shoes (symbolic of the English Tories) and those who wear low ones (representing the English Whigs), and court positions are filled by those who are best at rope dancing. Gulliver is asked to help defend Lilliput against the empire of Blefuscu, with which Lilliput is at war over which end of an egg should be broken, this being a matter of religious doctrine. Gulliver captures Blefuscu’s naval fleet, thus preventing an invasion, but declines to assist the emperor of Lilliput in conquering Blefuscu. Later Gulliver extinguishes a fire in the royal palace by urinating on it. Eventually he falls out of favour and is sentenced to be blinded and starved. He flees to Blefuscu, where he finds a normal-size boat and is thus able to return to England.

Gulliver’s second voyage takes him to Brobdingnag, inhabited by a race of giants. A farm worker finds Gulliver and delivers him to the farm owner. The farmer begins exhibiting Gulliver for money, and the farmer’s young daughter, Glumdalclitch, takes care of him. One day the queen orders the farmer to bring Gulliver to her, and she purchases Gulliver. He becomes a favourite at court, though the king reacts with contempt when Gulliver recounts the splendid achievements of his own civilization. The king responds to Gulliver’s description of the government and history of England by concluding that the English must be a race of “odious vermin.” Gulliver offers to make gunpowder and cannon for the king, but the king is horrified by the thought of such weaponry. Eventually Gulliver is picked up by an eagle and then rescued at sea by people of his own size.

On Gulliver’s third voyage he is set adrift by pirates and eventually ends up on the flying island of Laputa. The people of Laputa all have one eye pointing inward and the other upward, and they are so lost in thought that they must be reminded to pay attention to the world around them. Though they are greatly concerned with mathematics and with music, they have no practical applications for their learning. Laputa is the home of the king of Balnibarbri, the continent below it. Gulliver is permitted to leave the island and visit Lagado, the capital city of Balnibarbri. He finds the farm fields in ruin and the people living in apparent squalor. Gulliver’s host explains that the inhabitants follow the prescriptions of a learned academy in the city, where the scientists undertake such wholly impractical projects as extracting sunbeams from cucumbers. Later Gulliver visits Glubbdubdrib, the island of sorcerers, and there he speaks with great men of the past and learns from them the lies of history. In the kingdom of Luggnagg he meets the struldbrugs, who are immortal but age as though they were mortal and are thus miserable. From Luggnagg he is able to sail to Japan and thence back to England.

In the extremely bitter fourth part, Gulliver visits the land of the Houyhnhnms, a race of intelligent horses who are cleaner and more rational, communal, and benevolent (they have, most tellingly, no words for deception or evil) than the brutish, filthy, greedy, and degenerate humanoid race called Yahoos, some of whom they have tamed—an ironic twist on the human-beast relationship. The Houyhnhnms are very curious about Gulliver, who seems to be both a Yahoo and civilized, but, after Gulliver describes his country and its history to the master Houyhnhnm, the Houyhnhnm concludes that the people of England are not more reasonable than the Yahoos. At last it is decided that Gulliver must leave the Houyhnhnms. Gulliver then returns to England, so disgusted with humanity that he avoids his family and buys horses and converses with them instead.

Swami Vivekananda and professor

When swami vivekananda was studying law at University College, london. A white professor disliked him intensely.
One day, professor was having lunch in dining room, just then swami vivekananda came along with his tray and sit next to professor.

Professor trying to insult said to Swami,”Mr.vivekananda a pig and a bird do not sit together”.

Vivekananda ji looked at him and quitely replied,”Don’t worry professor.l will fly away”and on saying it Swami ji get up and sat on another table.

Professor was reddened with rage and wanted to take revenge.

Next day,in class professor posed a question to Swami Vivekananda,”If you are walking down the street and found a package, within which there was a bag of wisdom and the bag of money and you can take one”.Then would you take?

Without hesitation swami vivekananda ji replied “The one with a money,of course”.
Professor smiled sacriastically and said,”if I was in your place I would have taken the bag with wisdom”
Swami Vivekananda shrugged and responded “Each one takes what he doesn’t have”.

Professor was angered by this. So angered When he saw swami ji’s answer sheet.he didn’t evaluate it and just wrote idiot on it and gave it to Swami ji.

Vivekananda took the answer sheet and sat on his desk.

After a few minutes Swami ji get up and went to professor and told him in dignified polite tone ,”professor you signed my answer sheet and forgot to give grade”.

Ratha Yatra – A Journey of Faith

Jagannathdham,Puri is the ultimate destination of pilgrims. Rath Yatra features a lot of importance in Hinduism. This is organized from the Jagannath Temple in Puri, Odisha. According to the Hindu calendar, Rath Yatra takes place per annum on the second day of Shukla Paksha within the month of Ashadha.

This Rath Yatra of Puri may be a symbol of harmony, brotherhood and unity. Thousands of devotees come here from different corners of the country to require part during this yatra and obtain good luck by pulling the chariot of the Lord. It is said that whoever participates within the Rath Yatra, gets all types of happiness and prosperity.
The nine day annual grandeur: RATHA YATRA is known to attract millions of devotees from across the globe to Puri Dham of Lord Jagannath.Procession of the architectural marvels of the three chariots –The Nandighosha of Sri Jaganath,The Darpadalana of Devi Shubhadra and The Taladhwaja of Lord Balabhadra would have been pulled by millions from badadanda/the grand road to Gundicha temple.
The three chariots of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Lord Subhdra are newly constructed every year with wood of specified trees like phassi, dhausa, etc. They are customarily brought from the ex-princely state of Dasapalla by a specialist team of carpenters who have hereditary rights and privileges for an equivalent. The logs are traditionally set afloat as rafts within the river Mahanadi. These are collected near Puri then transported by road. The three chariots are decorated as per the unique scheme prescribed and followed for centuries stand on the Bada Danda, the Grand Avenue. The chariots are lined across the wide avenue ahead of the temple on the brink of its eastern entrance, which is additionally referred to as the Sinhadwara or the Lion’s Gate.Around each of the chariots are nine Parsva devatas, painted wooden images representing different deities on the chariots’ sides. Each chariot features a charioteer (Sarathi) and 4 horses.
In the current time, not more than 500 persons including temple officers and police. The complete Mahostav was live streamed across national media for the devotes to observe all the rituals. With devotees barred from taking part in the festivities owing to the pandemic for the second successive year and the supreme court upholding the state government’s ban on conducting the rath yatra anywhere other than puri. However, while usually tourists throng the temple premises during the festival, this year, due to the Covid-19 restrictions, no devotees were allowed during the much awaited Rath Yatra, whilst Lord Jagannath is that the one among the principal deities within the state of Odisha. Moreover, the chariot pullers who participated within the procession are tested negative for COVID-19 with the assistance of an RT-PCT test, and have also been fully vaccinated, the officials said. Apart from this, the Lord Jagannath Temple administration in Puri said that about 1,000 officials, aside from police personnel, were deployed.

A few tips to help relieve your period cramps

No one likes getting their periods. It comes with a lot of mood swings, bloating, cramps, and the will to die. Growing up, I have always searched for ways on how to make my period cycle less painful. I am here to share a few things that made me feel better. But every woman goes through different levels of pain. These might not work for all of them. But giving them a try would definitely make you feel better.

Get moving: When we are menstruating, we obviously don’t feel like getting up from our bed. But, exercising does release endorphins which help block pain receptors. Even taking a walk can be very helpful. I remember in lockdown when I would not really move so much. I had faced the worst cramps so, trust me moving does help.

Yoga: There are yoga poses you can try depending on which body part your cramps are at. You can always look up the internet to see what yoga pose would help relieve your cramp. Yoga does not even require you to move.

Stay hydrated: we are more dehydrated during our periods which leads to more cramps. So, it is best to increase our intake of water. It will also help reduce bloating. If you are not fond of the taste of water, you can try drinking fruit-infused water. You can also try eating water-based fruits such as cucumber and watermelon.

Do not skip meals: during our period, we often don’t feel hungry because we are already bloated. But skipping meals only makes it worse. We can then experience abdominal cramps.

Resting: during our cycle, we are more tired. So having a good sleep is very important. Sleeping will also make you feel well-rested.

Avoiding a few foods: caffeine, alcohol, excess salty and, fatty food will make your cramps worse. So, you might want to skip on that. For all the people who cannot start their day without a morning coffee, you can try drinking ginger tea instead. I know it is not the best substitute, but ginger helps soothe muscles.

A few foods you can enjoy during your cycle:

Dark chocolates: This is by far my favorite tip because I love dark chocolates. Dark chocolates are a great source of iron, potassium, and magnesium. We must also avoid sugary food during our periods as it makes matters worse, so eating dark chocolate might help.

Banana: they are rich in potassium, and they help avoid bloating. I always eat bananas during my periods.

Leafy green vegetables: I personally do not like green leafy vegetables, but they do help in relieving cramps. What I like doing instead is drinking a green juice that has kale, spinach, lemon, ginger, and lettuce. It surprisingly does not taste bad.

Fruits: fruits are rich in all the vitamins that our body needs during our cycle. They can also help prevent your sugar cravings. If you crave ice cream. You can always try eating frozen fruits with dark chocolate syrups. It is tasty and fun to eat. You can also try dipping fruits in nut butter. Nut butter is also a great source of protein.

I know these tips seem like a lot of work because all we want to do is eat, sleep and eat junk food during our cycle. But, I try to avoid the foods that would make my cramps worse. I’d rather eat healthily and follow these tips than suffer in pain. So, you can give these tips a try.

R software

What is R Software?
R may be a artificial language and free package developed by Ross Ihaka and Henry Martyn Robert Gentleman in 1993. R possesses an in depth catalog of applied math and graphical ways. It includes machine learning algorithms, statistical regression, statistic, applied math illation to call some. Most of the R libraries area unit written in R, except for serious procedure tasks, C, C++ and algebraic language codes area unit most popular.

R isn’t solely entrusted by educational, however several massive firms conjointly use R artificial language, as well as Uber, Google, Airbnb, Facebook and then on.

Data analysis with R is finished during a series of steps; programming, reworking, discovering, modeling and communicate the results

Program: R may be a clear and accessible programming tool
Transform: R is formed from a set of libraries designed specifically for knowledge science
Discover: Investigate the information, refine your hypothesis and analyze them
Model: R provides a good array of tools to capture the proper model for your knowledge
Communicate: Integrate codes, graphs, and outputs to a report with R Markdown or build Shiny apps to share with the globe

What is R used for?
Statistical illation
Data analysis
Machine learning algorithmic program

R by business
If we have a tendency to break down the utilization of R by business, we have a tendency to see that teachers return initial. R may be a language to try to to data point. R is that the initial alternative within the care business, followed by government and consulting.

R package
The primary uses of R is and can perpetually be, statistic, mental image, and machine learning. the image below shows that R package got the foremost queries in Stack Overflow. within the prime ten, most of them area unit associated with the work flow of {a knowledge|a knowledge|an information} scientist: data preparation and communicate the results.
All the libraries of R, almost 12k, area unit hold on in volume unit. volume unit may be a free and open supply. you’ll transfer and use the various libraries to perform Machine Learning or statistic analysis.

Communicate with R
R has multiple ways in which to gift and share work, either through a markdown document or a shiny app. Everything will be hosted in Rpub, GitHub or the business’s web site.

Below is AN example of a presentation hosted on Rpub
Why use R?

Data science is shaping the means firms run their businesses. while not a doubt, staying far from AI and Machine can lead the corporate to fail. the massive question is that tool/language must you use?

They are many tools obtainable within the market to perform knowledge analysis. Learning a brand new language needs your time investment. the image below depicts the educational curve compared to the business capability a language offers. The negative relationship implies that there’s no gift. If you would like to administer the most effective insight from the information, then you wish to pay your time learning the acceptable tool, which is R.

On the highest left of the graph, you’ll see surpass and PowerBI. These 2 tools area unit straightforward to be told however do not supply outstanding business capability, particularly in term of modeling. within the middle, you’ll see Python and SAS. SAS may be a dedicated tool to run a applied math analysis for business, however it’s not free. SAS may be a click and run package. Python, however, may be a language with an ordinary learning curve. Python may be a fantastic tool to deploy Machine Learning and AI however lacks communication options. With a standardized learning curve, R may be a sensible trade-off between implementation and knowledge analysis.

When it involves knowledge mental image (DataViz), you’d in all probability detected regarding Tableau. Tableau is, while not a doubt, an excellent tool to find patterns through graphs and charts. Besides, learning Tableau isn’t long. One massive downside with knowledge mental image is you would possibly find yourself ne’er finding a pattern or simply produce many useless charts. Tableau may be a sensible tool for fast mental image of the information or Business Intelligence. once it involves statistics and decision-making tool, R is a lot of acceptable.

Stack Overflow may be a massive community for programming languages. If you’ve got a writing issue or got to perceive a model, Stack Overflow is here to assist. Over the year, the proportion of question-views has accumulated sharply for R compared to the opposite languages. This trend is in fact extremely correlative with the booming age of knowledge science however, it reflects the demand of R language for knowledge science.

In knowledge science, there area unit 2 tools competitory with one another. R and Python area unit in all probability the artificial language that defines knowledge science
