Garlic is the common vegetable which is used all over the world in every type of food cuisine . The scientific name of garlic is Allum sativum . It is flowering plant of bulbous type .It belongs from the Allium genus & a closely connected to the onion ,shallots ,chives etc. It is mostly used for the purpose of seasoning & as a spice element .Some time it is also used as a vegetable for its health benefactor property .Its color is naturally white but black garlic are also available .Garlic has a strong pungent smell .From ancient time it is used as a medicinal element for its containing compounds .It was used a element of preventing bugs in ancient time .Ancient Egyptian had the belief that it have reservation property that’s why it is used during mummification .
NUTRITION VALUE : Garlic has so many nutritious elements . USDA had provided a report of nutrition value of a regular 3 gm. Garlic clove — It contains 4.5 gm. Calories , has no fat , 5 gm. Of sodium (Na) ,1 gm. Of carbohydrates ,0.06 – 1 gm. Of fiber ,no sugar ,2 gm. Protein ,2% of manganese (Mn) in daily value , 2% of vitamin B6 in daily value ,1% of selenium (Sc) in daily value ,!% of vitamin C in daily value .Apart from them it also contains calcium (Ca) ,iron (Fe) ,phosphorus (P) ,various types of vitamin B ,potassium (K) etc. It also have amino acids , antioxidants ,Allison ,pro-biotic , Inulin . In simple word garlic have lots of manganese (Mn) , vitamin c ,vitamin B6 but has very low amount of carbohydrates ,fat ,proteins .
