Why do we get acne?

Acne is a condition of skin when hair follicles become plugged with oil and dead skin cells. Acne can be blackheads, whiteheads, pimples or cysts. Teens are most affected by acne because of hormonal changes that comes with puberty. The hair follicles or pores in skin contains Sebaceous glands (oil glands). These glands generate Sebum, an oil that lubricates your hair and skin. Sebaceous glands make the right amount of sebum. As the body begin to mature and develop though hormones stimulate the sebaceous glands to make more sebum. Pores becomes clogged if there is much sebum. Then bacteria get trapped inside pores and multiply in number causing swelling and redness to skin.
