Electron , the mysterious particle

Electron is one of the smallest particle you can understood its size by knowing the fact that as we all know that atom is the smallest particle from which the matter is made up of but the electron is that particle with which atom is made of now you get the feel about its size. So lets jump on few following topic to learn some more about it.

DISCOVERY OF ELECTRON

Long before the end of the 19th century, it was well known that applying a high voltage to a gas contained at low pressure in a sealed tube called a gas discharge tube caused electricity to flow through the gas, which then emitted light . Researchers trying to understand this phenomenon found that an unusual form of energy was also emitted from the cathode, or negatively charged electrode; this form of energy was called a cathode ray. And after some research scientist found a particle nature in that ray and give them name electron.

Location of electron in atom

See there are many theory regarding it but some of them are as follows in the early researches a theory come that said electron is lie inside the atom after it a another theory came which said electron lie in the orbits around the atom and after that a theory come which said that electron is lie around the atom like a cloud and that cloud called electron cloud and that theory is the most recent theory.

NATURE OF ELECTRON

The properties of electrons indicate that they have a dual nature. An electron behaves both as a particle and as a wave. An electron has mass and possesses kinetic energy. Hence, it should be a particle, and at the same time, it can be diffracted in the same way as light waves, which are only possible when electrons have a wave nature.

Example to show its particle nature

When a propeller is inserted in between the discharge tube and perform a experiment, applying a high voltage to a gas contained at low pressure in a sealed tube called a gas discharge tube caused electricity to flow through the gas, which then emitted light and that light cause move the propeller that show its particle nature.

WAVE NATURE OF ELECTRON

So first we can show its wave nature by above example as we learn above we get light on the end of discharge tube when , applying a high voltage to a gas contained at low pressure which can show its wave nature.

Another example In 1927 Davisson and Germer observed that, a beam of electrons obtained from a heated tungsten filament is accelerated by using a high positive potential. When this fine beam of accelerated electron is allowed to fall on a large single crystal of nickel, the electrons are scattered from the crystal in different

directions. The diffraction pattern so obtained is similar  to the diffraction pattern obtained by Bragg’s experiment on diffraction of X-rays Since X-rays have wave character, therefore, the electrons must also have wave character associated with them. Moreover, the wave length of the electrons as determined by the diffraction experiments were found to be in agreement with the values calculated from de-Broglie equation.

India’s performance in Tokyo Olympics so far

We are in day 5 of Olympics and toady I will discuss about the performances of Indian athletes so far. India had sent 127 athletes in Tokyo Olympics 2021. but performance so far is as usual its not been up to the mark and according to expectations of fans.

India got a perfect start on day 1 of the Tokyo Olympics as weightlifter Mirabhai chanu won Silver medal and created history of become just 2nd women weightlifter to win a medal in Olympics for India after Karnam Malleswari. there were many events but some of them were as:- After winning qualification round easily, Saurabh Chaudhary finished seventh in the 10m air pistol final. In archery, the pair of Deepika Kumari and Pravin Jadhav qualified for the finals but lost the next round from south korean archers. Our Mens hockey team won the first match of Olympics and defeated New Zealand by 3-2.

On day 2, India could not improve their medal tally. However, it was a good day for the Indian rowing team of Arjun Lal and Arvind Singh that were qualified for the semifinals. Shuttler PV Sindhu won her opener in a perfect start to better Rio campaign. Paddler Manika Batra moved to the third round.later, Mary Kom opened her Tokyo 2020 campaign with a round of 32 win in the 51kg category but all o us were shocked by India’s disappointment in shooting as Manu Bhaker, Yashaswini Deswal and Deepak Kumar, Divyansh Panwar failed to qualify for 10m air pistol in their respective categories. senior tennis player Sania Mirza and Ankita Raina were knocked out of the women’s doubles after losing 6-0, 6-7(0), 8-10 to the Kichenok twins of Ukraine. and India’s lone gymnast Pranati Nayak also failed to qualify.

Day 3 also didn’t bought any smile on Indian fans as Indian shooters dissapointed again and the hockey team were hammered by australia 1-7 but badminton star player P V Sindhu, boxing great M C Mary Kom and table tennis star Manika Batra won their respective matches. The 38-year-old Mary Kom, who is already an 2012 Olympic bronze-medallist, prevailed 4-1 against a rival who is 15 years her junior to start her pursuit of a second medal but apart from these 2-3 small success other athletes dissappointed.

on day 4,Team India had a heartbreaking day in Badminton and Shooting on Tuesday. Initially the day was good for India as Indian shooters Manu Bhaker, Saurabh Chaudhary topped their mixed team air pistol qualification Stage 1 but were unable to go ahead after that. The day then continued to worsen for Indian shooting as Divyansh/Elavenil and Anjum/Deepak also failed to make it to rifle final. but it was not enough as Divyansh/Elavenil and Anjum/Deepak also failed to make it to rifle final. Indian men hockey team made a terrific comeback and defeated Spain 3-0 after getting hammered by Australia. Meanwhile, boxer Lovlina Borgohain made indian fans smile was qualified to quarterfinals and is a step away from winning a medal. She will face Nien-Chin Chen of Chinese Taipei in the quarterfinal on Friday (July 30). (Stats source: https://indianexpress.com/article/olympics/tokyo-olympics-2020-day-4-live-updates-7423748/)

Apart from weightlifter Mirabhai chanu, India had really disappointed so far but we will continue to support our athletes and will expect a medal very soon. as many events our still remaining.

Electrical world: How Electricity changes the way and view of human society

  •

Electricity which is used as a power resource or fuel from years is now showing us a picture of a world where literally everything is based upon electricity and its effects, And it’s not wrong to say that this picture is starts taking shape from many small companies to unicorn startup everyone is in race of electrical era which is quite good, and also challenging because its not initially easy to for us to adapt this change and meet such a  tremendous consumption of electricity but some of the companies are already shows us the revolutionary projects which blows up our hearts like, Tesla.

I think every body is aware of the revolution the it regains in the world of electricity TESLA is one the leading company that has made very successful electrical cars for long range distances with some modern technology and features. And this is not only up to the electrical cars which leads us to the second example there are companies  that works on the electrical drones which is also a major part of todays world. Similarly there are a number of companies which take the uses of electricity beyond the levels.

  ELECRICAL COMSUPTION AND ITS FORMATION

If we thing about the world where we see our future in electricity then it is also very important to look some of the futuristic way for the production of electricity. So to meet a good consumption of electricity we cannot rely on the few way of its production that’s why many scientists from the various parts of world are trying to discover some new and advance methods to produce electricity but as per the rising number of humans in the world the production is not only the way to meet the consumption bar, the another and the most important thing is humans have to make a mindset to conserve the electricity, And we have to do this from today not only for us but also for the upcoming humans society, because the process of saving the energy is much cheaper and easier rather process it .

ADVANTAGES OF THIS ELECTRICAL FUTURE

There are a number of advantages of such a electrical future, first we use most of the vehicle and machines which are pollution free which is  not good for us but also for our society , if we talk about electrical cars than, electric cars run on electrically powered engines, and hence there is no need to lubricate the engines, anything related to the combustion engine or a ton of maintenance tasks that are usually associated with a gas engine. And if we look at some other machines which plays an important role in your life such as satellite which helps us to collect basic to advance data may also contain hybrid engines which uses electricity to run and for that we use the solar power, which is also a example that electrical energy and easier to interchange with other source of energy.

DISADVANTAGES OF THIS ELECTRICAL FUTURE

Although the evidence of the positives has become very clear, there are also some downsides that needs to consider so if we talk in case of electrical cars than some most possible disadvantages are:-

1.Recharge Points

2. Electric fueling stations are still in the development stages. Not a lot of places you go to on a daily basis will have electric fueling stations for your vehicle, meaning that if you’re on a long trip or decide to visit family in a rural area and run out of charge, it may be harder to find a charging station. You may be stuck where you are.

However, until charging stations are more widespread, be sure to have a charging station maps where you live and where you frequently go so that you’ll be able to charge your new EV when you need to.

3. If we move to such a world where we fully depend upon electricity then a short power cut can send us in trouble. People have to face difficulties in the areas who suffering from lack of electric power. So whatever the future is we have to remember a think that in the race or era where technology in its peak we also have to save this planet for upcoming generations.

Kargil Vijay Diwas

July 26 is celebrated as the Kargil Vijay Diwas to cerebrate the victory of Operation Vijay, the moment which was launched by Indian army to recapture Indian Territories from Pakistani Army and Pakistani militants .Since 1999,This day is celebrated to show respect and gratitude to our brave soldiers who laid down their life to recapture the seized position from Pakistani Army.

The Kargil war was fought in 1999 between India and Pakistan. Kargil war was fought for more than 60 days and ended on 26 July 1999. however Indian prime minister at that time declared operation successful on 14 July. This war started when Pakistani troops silently occupied some Indian posts. However, Pakistani army denied their involvement . But later their Prime minister and other big officials revealed about the involvement of Pakistani forces, that was led by general Ashraf rashid.to give a response Indian army launched operation Vijay to clear the Pakistani Forces and militants.

Atal Bihari Vajpayee was the prime minister of India at that time. This war was not an easy war to be a part of. because this war was in high attitude in mountaineous terrain. Initially Pakistan captured various important Indian posts and India very well responded with recapturing the posts and pushing Pakistani troops back to their country.

To respond back ,India sent 5 infantory divisions, 44 battalions of Paramilitary forces in Kashmir and 73000 Indian troops. and after that deployment of 60 frontline aircrafts was also done. But all these things were not so easy.it was a high altitude region and very few tracks were connected with main roads. and snow was also a factor. Pakistan had occupied those posts keeping these factors in mind. The Pakistani army was trying to take a strong position in Kashmir by doing this. They were divided into many groups of intruders in Kargil. There total strength was considered to be 1000. with heavily armed with guns like AK-47, mortars, artillery and many other weapons.(Source:https://m.jagranjosh.com/general-knowledge/kargil-war-history-1595672853-1)

But soon Indian army detected the intruders occupying , and without wasting much time Indian army operations were planned in may 1999,’ operation Vijay’ was launched by Indian army. Indian army was successful in clearing of Drass sector. and many of those were pushed back to Batalik sector. Indian army with the help of Indian Air force attacked those intruders. Thousands of guns, bombs artillery guns were used which created havoc in kargil. Indian troops destroyed their positions and forced them to leave .till July 1999, Tiger hill was recaptured. In July 7,mashkoh valley was also re-captured. Gradually many were recaptured by our army. Air force also made a huge rule in the kargil war , over 300 aircrafts were used.It was believed that 700 intruders were killed by aircrafts.

The war was concluded on July 26,1999. with Indian army regaining all occupied posts by Pakistani Forces, but India also had to sacrifice a lot in Kargil war. More than 500 soldiers laid down their life in Kargil war, and more than 1300 were injured. Today is 22 nd Anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas and today whole nation is remembering soldiers’ Sacrifice for the country.

The First World War

World war 1 was a global war that Started from Europe. World war 1 began in 1914 and lasted till 1918.it was the one of the deadliest and destructive war in history, with an estimated death of 8.5 million soldiers and 13 million civilian.

The major European states were divided into 2 blocks through treaties .Britain, France and Russia had formed one block that was called Triple Entene while Germany, Hungary-Austria and Italy had formed another block that was called Triple Alliance. a mutual hatred was created between these two alliances by secret alliances that ultimately led to the first world war.

During the 19th and early 20th centuries, European countries had come to dominate rest of the world either through conquest or unequal treaties. with backward countries. then the world war was started in 1914. it involved rest of the world also that is why it is called First world war.

Causes of World war 1

1. Rivalries of colonies: colonial power of Europe controlled vast overseas territories in south America, south Asia and many areas. Britain had the largest colonial empire. By the begining of 20th century, Germany had emerged as one of the most advanced Countries of Europe, however they lagged behind Britain and France. Germany was looking for a share in colonial markets. On the other hand Britain and France were following some policies to avoid Germany to achieve their goals. War was the only way for Germany to achieve their target.

2. Armament race:- All developed countries were busy making weapons for defence of their respective countries, but it led to fear and hatred among the various nations. they did not realize the outcome of growing their armaments.

3. Militant nationalism:-Nationalism became a very hot topic in Europe in 19th century. Each country wanted to become free from dominance of any other country. They wanted to be free. During this wave, Greece, Romania ,Bulgaria and Serbia became independent nations.

4. Territorial conflicts:-There were many conflicts between Turkey and some eastern European states due to territory issue. just before the start of first world war. the other European countries tried to solve the matter but Serbia was not happy and decided to start war. the France people wanted to get back Alsace-Lorraine which was taken away from them in 1870 by Germany.

5.Germany dream of becoming Superpower :-Germany always wanted to become a world leader but after 1890, the state of affairs was passed to a aggressive ang highly ambitious Emperor Kaiser Wilhelm. . he wanted to take a strong position in Europe. One by one each of the European countries became Germany’s enemy. slowly alliances were made to opposed Germany’s dominance and aggression.

Participation in war

The Russians declared support for Serbia that provoked Germany. On 4th of August ,Britain declared war against Germany. .Austria-Hungary declared war on Russia on 6th August. Turkey and Bulgaria joined war on Austria -Hungary side. Japan also joined war on the side of Britain. Later USA also joined war on the side of Britain.

result

it was the one of the deadliest and destructive war in history. Russia was badly defeated by Germany. The combined forces of USA, Britain and France were defeated Austria, Hungary and Germans .on the other hand, Turkey lost the territories to Palestine, Iraq, Syria and others. Deepak chahar helps India to win 2nd ODI

Deepak Chahar’s wonderful knock of unbeaten 69 helped India to win the second ODI against Sri Lanka. Deepak chahar with the help of Bhuvneshwar Kumar at the other end chased down the target with a record partnership of unbroken 84 runs. .

India were struggling at 193 for 7 when Bhuvneshwar joined chahar , when 83 more runs runs were needed for India to win. Both produced an incredible Chase .Bhuvneshwar was also beaten on 19 off 28.

Sri Lanka again won the toss in the second ODI , and made a descent score of 275 , thanks to Karunaratne who contributed some important runs at the death overs, after a poor show of middle order. The total of 275 was not a match winning total, but a fighting total. and something to bowled to.

India again started very nicely, Prithvi Shaw started the innings with 3 consecutive fours in 1st overs. and made 14 runs in 1st over. Shikhar Dhawan was also looking comfortable in starting. but at 6th ball of 3rd over, leg spinner Hasaranga bowled Prithvi Shaw with the ball coming little bit in to the batsman.it was really a master stroke from Sri Lankan captain Shanaka to introduce spin so early because they knew if Prithvi Shaw had stayed 5-6 overs more , he would have drag Sri Lanka out of the context.

But it was not only one dent that India faced during the chase, soon after Prithvi Shaw was dismissed, Ishan Kishan soon followed him with just 1 off 4.Then the chase become little bit tricky for India . Captain Shikhar Dhawan was joined by Manish Pandey who was also wanting to score some runs after a poor show in 1st ODI,but at the score of 65, Indian captain Shikhar Dhawan was also dismissed by Hasaranga. than it became a tough challenge for Manish Pandey and Suryakumar Yadav to get India chased down the target they both were batting really good but than came an unfortunate run out of Manish Pandey. Surya’s straight drive was so straight that it hit the stumps at the bowlers end and Shanaka managed to touch the ball in the process.

Hardik Pandya was straightaway dismissed for 0 off 3 . Making condition more worse for India. Soon after scoring his maiden fifty , Suryakumar was dismissed by spinner Sandakan. Krunal Pandya showed some resistance but was gone with a beauty of Hasaranga. After that it became almost impossible for India to win from that situation. Then came India’s hero of the match . Deepak chahar along with Bhuvneshwar managed to make a match winning partnership of 84 runs.

The innings of chahar was a combination of patience and maturity. he knew that the asking rate was not much . if India managed to rotate strike , they would achieve the target. he took some calculated risk with some outstanding running between the wickets soon after he scored his maiden fifty, and hopes of Indian dugout and fans was again came again.

it was a masterstroke from Rahul Dravid to send chahar ahead of Bhuvneshwar because he knew about the capabilities of chahar. Chahar also contributed with ball taking 2 for 52 in 8 overs. It was an all round performance from chahar to contribute in India’s win. After the second ODI , the third match is on Friday.

Indian classical music

Today I want to discuss a very interesting topic ,it is about ‘Indian classical Music’, which is India’s heritage and pride. Indian classical music is the classical music of Indian subcontinent. it is basically divided into 2 parts ,in north India it is called as Hindustani music while in south India , it is called Carnatic music.

Indian classical music has 2 components Raga and Tala. raga is based on ‘Swara‘ while the tala is based on time cycles. Indian classical music has been adopted historically with many regional styles and places. Indian classical music is considered to be 6000 years ago where people developed a combination of musical notes with rhythm. Indian classical music is very closely connected to nature, beauty and surroundings. There are different – different ragas for different moods and seasons.for example , there is a raga called ‘Malhar’,which is said to be sung during rainy season.

Hindustani music

it is believed that Indian subcontinent music was integrated until political turmoil of Delhi sultanates era came, than it was divided into 2 parts 1. Hindustani music 2. Carnatic music.

it is believed that Hindustani music was started in 14th century. it was at its peak during Akbar period, during that time Tansen studied Hindustani music and made many innovations in it. he is also considered as founder of Hindustani music. Hindustani music is mainly found in North India, Pakistan and Afghanistan . It has different forms like khyal, tarana thumri etc. There is a huge list of Ragas in Hindustani music.

Carnatic music

Puranadara Dasa is considered as grandfather of Carnatic music. He was a devotee of lord Krishna. Due to his efforts, Carnatic music was introduced.it is said that Carnatic music is more rhythmically intensive and structured than Hindustani music. Carnatic music are little bit fast and shorter than Hindustani music.

What makes Indian classical music different from other music

in this we will discuss that how classical music is different from other forms of music like Bollywood Music. It is all about history ,its context and purpose. classical music is studied and developed in a very disciplined way .and it is more professional and difficult to learn.it is also considered as a type of meditation.

nowadays very less people know about classical music, about its history ,origin and other things. We all are attracted by western Music because it has that an entertainment flavour in it. But classical music is not for entertainment or any other thing, it gives mental peace to the listener who understands its beauty. In fact in Bollywood music , classical music plays a huge role many songs that we like are sung with the help of ragas especially sad or romantic songs.

instruments used in classical music

There are many instruments that are used in classical music, some of them are:-

1.Sitar:-it is a very important instrument in Hindustani music. it is a plucked stringed instrument that was originated in 16th or 17th century in Indian subcontinent.

2.Tabla:-it is a pair of drums used in indian classical music. it is used in Indian subcontinent .

3.Mridangam:- this instrument is used in Carnatic music. it is called Pakhawaj in Dhrupad.

Mental health is very interesting and underrated topic. People always care and think about their physical illness and usually cares about physical health. but mental health is as important as any other health issue. because without a good mental health, no one can be happy in their life.

According to WHO,” Mental health is state of well being in which the indivisual realizes his/her abilities”.it includes our emotional and social well being . it affects our thinking and how we react to a particular situation. but if these health issues are not taken seriously they can led to many serious diseases, such as depression. Any other person cannot predict or realize about your mental health because he cannot know what is going on in our mind, and the best way to overcome this problem is to share that problems with others. We can share it with our parents, brother ,sister or even friends ,if we are not comfortable with family members .

Factors that cause mental health problems

There can be many factors that are responsible for our mental health problem such as:-

1.Loneliness -it can be a factor of mental illness. neglecting a particular person , feeling him lonely everywhere can be a cause of mental illness.

2.Trauma or any bad experience of childhood: if a person has suffered a huge loss or have experienced any abuse or something else, it is very difficult for him to forgot it and move on. some move on with it but some are not able to forget it which led to mental illness.

3.genetics: mental illness can also be passed through genes. If a family member like father , grandfather or any other member has already experienced mental health problem, it can be passed into others.

4. Due to poverty or employment: mental problems can be also due to poverty in ones’ house or unemployment like if a young man has responsibility to feed his family members but he is not able to find a descent job, it can led to mental illness of that man.

5. a person having a long term physical health problem since many years can be affected by mental illness.

There are many other reasons of people having mental illness , one more reason nowadays is experienced by students due to studies and exam pressure. they are not able to cop up with that stress.

Different ways to overcome mental health issue:-

there are several ways to fight against mental illness some of the mare:-

1. Meditation : it is considered as a very powerful weapon against mental illness.

2.We should learn how to response to particular situation:- we should make our mind ready for any situation without panicking much. it will make our mind strong.

3. We should act wisely wherever our patience is tested and we should always avoid self criticism because it will have a adverse effect in our process to overcome mental health issue.

4. We should always surround ourselves with good people who understands us to whom we ca share our life problems and other things.

5. But if we are not able to cop up with it, we should immediately talk to family members and consult a doctor.

India at the Olympics

As we all know Tokyo Olympics are scheduled from start from 23rd July to 8th of August.and we all have very high hope and expectations from our players.

Olympic is an international multi-sport event that is organised after every 4 years. The first Olympic was held in 1896 in Athens.it is also considered as festival of sports Each year it is organised in different country. India has so far won just 28 medals since 1900.let us look at the past when journey for Olympics was started for India.

india’s journey to olympics

India sent its first athlete (Norman pritchard) in 1900 to the Olympics . and it took 20 years to send India’s first contingent in 1920 which consists of 5 members( 3 athletes and 2 wrestler). the quantity of players since 1920 only increased. since then India has won 28 medals which includes 9 gold ,7 silver and 12 bronze medals.

The major contribution was made from Hockey. From 1932 to 1980 India won 8 gold medals in hockey that was the golden period of Indian hockey team but after that the quality of hockey in our country decreased. in 2000, karnam Malleswari won a bronze medal and became first Indian woman to win a medal in Olympics. after that last gold medal in 1980, the next gold medal came in 2008 Beijing Olympics when Abhinav Bindra won gold medal in men’s 10-M air rifle event who became first Indian indivisual to win a gold medal in Olympics. in same Olympics VijenderSsingh also won bronze medal and became first Indian boxer to do so.

2012 london olympics was very good for india where 83 members contingent participated in olympics. and india won 6 medals.wrestler Sushil kumar became first indian wrestler to win silver medal in olympics.saina nehwal won bronze medal and became first indian woman to do so.Mary kom won bronze medal in boxing.

after this wonderful performance in 2012 Olympics, expectations were very high in 2016 Rio Olympics but it did not went very well for India .because India sent a records 117 members but we were only able to win 2 medal which included a bronze medal from Sakshi Malik in wrestling and silver medal from PV Sindhu in badminton.it was a very disappointing year for India .But the question arises why India is not able to perform well in Olympics?

if we look at any other country like USA, they won 121 ,medals in Rio Olympics. ,which is 3-4 times what India has managed so far from 1900, despite having a population of 1.3 billion. I do not think population should be considered in this matter. there are many other factors which are responsible for India’s struggle in Olympics.

reasons of India’s struggle in Olympics

  1. Infrastructure of our country

2.proper funding of players

3. lack of awareness and sports should be given more attention and priority.

4.poor rehab facilities and inexperienced coaches.

5. player are cared and given facilities when Olympics approaches but they should get it throughout their preparation to Olympics.

6.cricket is also one of the reasons. India is a cricket loving nation where every 2nd child wants to be a cricketer. i m also a cricket lover, but we should also concentrated and take interest in other sports also. Like Australia and England, they are very good cricketing nation but they are also good in other sports.
