According to World Health Organization more than 264 millon people suffer from depression all over the world,in the age groupof 15-30 suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death.Its very easy to say that “suicide is not a solution” but the fact is acccording to WHO every year more than 80,000 people commit suicide and yet we feel depression and sadness are the same.

   Sadness is different from depression,sadness is something we feel when we are not comfortable. 
   Example-After living in a city for 10 years,when you shift to another city,you leave your comfort zone behind .Because you come out of your comfort zone ,you take    time to adjust to your circumstances.

2. Depression is extreme sadness:
   No,there is a difference in grief,sadness and depression.
   Grief is the direct response to loss but over a period of time grief reduces because you move on.
   An example of grief is ,the feeling that you have after you lose someone,the death of a relative.

3. depression need not have any logical reason:
   How many people you have around you, how wealthy you are,how close you are to your family,or how much your previous film earned.depression doesn’t have to be connected to any of this.
   if you are a dancer and if dancing is your passion and suddenly one day you lose this passion,you feel you have lost all your energy and this feeling lasts for a very long time then maybe you are depressed.

What is depression?
Depression is a mood disorder that causes a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest.It affects your feeling,thinking and behavior and can lead to a variety of emotional and physical problem.One may have trouble doing normal day to day activity and something you may feel as if life isn’t worth living.

People  consider depression as a sign of weakness but its not true.Just like other disease depression can have many different causes.One of the reason can be chemical imbalance in your brain.Many people think that people act depressed just because they want attention but its the other way around.Many people are depressed but they act happy all the time.

Positive quotes or self help books don’t cure depression. If any of your friends is seeing a therapist then please don’t judge instead,extend your support.Even being there ,being with them counts.

It’s easy to say suicide is not a solution on social media ,it’s equally easy to start a conversation on mental health because the more we talk about mental health ,the more people will understand that talking about mental health is not weakness . The more we talk about it ,the more people will understand the importance of meditation . The more we talk about it ,the more people will stop bullying and spreading hatred ,because a lot of student commit suicide and this news does not even reach us.

 So lets create an environment thats not just us but even a SUSHANT says that  suicide is not a solution!! 

Mayong: The Black Magic Capital of India

If you’re a curious traveler, adventure lover, history buff, or are simply fascinated by black magic, then Mayong, where silence and mystery lurk all around and which is often regarded as the seat of Black Magic in India is surely awaiting you.

EXISTENCE OR EXAMINATION

Amidst this deadly Covid-19 pandemic India is gearing up for conducting competitive examinations (JEE/NEET and final year examination) The commission has announced the dates for several competitive exams to be conducted in September and October. The real question is not if the students are prepared, but is India prepared for this? Despite imposing complete lock-down, especially in Maharashtra, the Covid-19 cases are increasing day by day and now the supreme court has given a verdict that exams should be conducted.This is totally unfair.There are lakhs of students who will appear for writing exams. It is not only putting students and teachers under risk but also their families. Is this worth taking the risk? Putting life under jeopardy to write exams.

The health minister is talking about taking precautions, but before that, what about people who have already been tested COVID positive? Many people are dying not because of the virus but because of a lack of proper health care facilities and treatment. No one can blame the people for raising their suspicion. With a public health care system is in a hodgepodge, many people are looking with doubt at the country’s attempts to battle with the pandemic. The lack of these stocks has decreased the Indian health care base, also, leading to an accelerated rise in COVID-19 crises in the country. At this time when even very advanced countries are striving to deal with this pandemic and due to a dense population, India’s incapacitated health care foundation is in many ways disadvantaged to deal with this pandemic. Today the record surged to 83,883 fresh corona-virus cases in the last 24 hours taking India’s COVID tally past the 38-lakh mark and Maharashtra continues to be the state hit hardest by the pandemic and followed by Delhi, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu making India top 3rd Country affected and just some numbers behind Brazil.

The government should look for another solution or option other than making students appear for the examination in centers. What is the technology for then? Competitive exams should be conducted online with certain protocols. In that way, students will not lose their one year and they will be safe, and yes even though there can be certain technical problems in conducting exams online, but this is the better option rather than going to colleges. Offline exams may act as a great threat to health since the crowd of students in huge numbers at the examination center will make them prone to getting in contact with a corona positive person. The thermal screening of all persons entering the examination hall is no remedy. Another option is to cancel the final term exams while using the average of the marks secured in earlier terms as a substitute for the final semester examination scores. The government should realize that the situation can go out of control anytime, which is evident with the day to day spike in COVID cases despite lock down and on top of that now lakhs of students have to go and write exams. The government should reconsider this decision of giving priority to examination over life.

PUBG MOBILE APP BANNED BY GOVERNMENT

PUBG MOBILE, a wildly popular online multiplayer shooting game, is among 118 Chinese apps blocked by the government Wednesday amid tension over fresh Chinese provocation in Ladakh. Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has banned 118 more Chinese apps including one of the most popular mobile games PUBG Mobile. The official press release stated that all of these apps have been “banned under section 69A of the Information Technology Act”. The government said that it has “decided to block 118 mobile apps since in view of the information available they are engaged in activities which is prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, security of the state and public order.”

The apps have been banned in the country on Wednesday. The apps are still available on the Google Play store and Apple App store. It takes some time for such orders to get enforced and hence both PUBG Mobile and PUBG Mobile Lite are still available on the app stores. Users can still be able to download the game before it’s gone from the app store. If PUBG MOBILE does not turn off server access to the region, users will still be able to play the game on their smartphone.

In a measure of PUBG’s huge popularity in India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during an event on exam stress last year, had remarked to a mother complaining about her teen: “Yeh PUBG-wala hai kya (Is he a PUBG player?)”. 

In June, the government banned 59 mobile apps including Bytedance’s TikTok, Alibaba’s UC Browser and Tencent’s WeChat, also citing security concerns.After the PUBG Mobile ban, many people are worried about their money, which they had invested in the game for buying skins, Royale Pass and more. PUBG Mobile has not provided any statement regarding this. But, most possibly players will have to raise a dispute regarding this on the respective app stores to get their money back.

Do you often come across terms like cisgender, agender, bigender, queer,intersex etc and get confused? Well now it’s high time to get used to these terminologies and understand them.

There was a recent Twitter battle after the Hollywood actor William Shatner took offence at being called ‘CIS’, short for ‘cisgendered’. He considered it to be a slur and harassment term. But is it actually a slur or rather a harmless adjective? The term cisgendered is used to define people whose gender identity matches the identity assigned to them at birth. The gender is considered to be a social construct and growing up the child may not correspond to that assigned at birth. Just like it is necessary to label the ‘trans’ people, in the same way it is significant to label the people who are not trans as ‘cis’. The reason is that giving a tag only to the transgendered would mean that the rest are at default or ‘normal’, which further aggravates the societal position of the trans people.

This gives us the opportunity to explore the arena of the terms which will help to make our vocabulary more inclusive. Here are a few of the gender identifiers:

Agender: Someone who identifies as not belonging to any gender

Androgynous: Someone who identifies as neither man nor woman

Bigender: Someone who identifies as both man and woman

Non-binary: Someone who rejects the binaries of male and female

Genderfluid: Someone whose gender identity changes

Genderquestioning: Someone who is exploring which gender they identify as

Genderqueer: An umbrella term for people not subscribing to traditional genders

AFAB, AMAB: Assigned Female At Birth, Assigned Male At Birth

Intersex: Those who do not possess the physical characteristics of either males or females

Third Gender: Those who have a gender identity beyond man or woman

These are just a few of the many terms which should be normalized and made use of in our daily conversations. By just using the right label for the person, we can contribute our bit towards the marginalized section of the LGBTQ+. Cheers to a more inclusive future!

Rhea Chakraborty – A Witch Hunt

The SSR suicide case has taken drastic turns since it was first taken under the umbrella of mainstream media. From dragging it through nepotism in bollywood, to demonising “Bollywood” for targeted harassment of Sushant and alienating him and now vilifying and torturing a girl and her family.

For anyone who has even a remote access to news is aware of the daily ‘media’ investigations of the suicide case.

But is there a sexist angle to this media campaign? It seems that this might be the case. Rhea Chakraborty the then partner of SSR became a soft target for this manhandling by the media.

Tarushikha Sarvesh, assistant professor of sociology at the Advanced Centre for Women’s Studies at Aligarh Muslim University, says that the media has been extremely irresponsible in their coverage of the issue. “The gender bias has been quite evident. The media has been irresponsible in handling the issue. There is a difference between reporting and sensationalising. They cannot corner people and pronounce them guilty or evoke negative sentiments about them,” Sarvesh said the fact that channels have sought to target Chakraborty reflect the misogyny in Indian media houses, the scholar said. “It is as if the media wants to say that by being a woman, you are already a witch. This amounts to harassment and must affect the mental health of the concerned persons,” she added.

Advocate Karuna Nundy, who has been following the Rajput case closely, expresses concern. She said, “Rhea Chakraborty’s media trial is something that should deeply worry all women. There is a way in which [this] woman has been taken out of a particular situation and labelled a criminal by national mainstream media, in Bhojpuri songs, [and] by lawyers on national TV.”


She added, “Rhea Chakraborty was someone who was in a relationship with Sushant Singh Rajput. Clearly the family did not like it – another piece evidence that has crept into the public domain. Let us be clear that there will be lots of evidence that we have absolutely no idea about and those could point to the direction of anyone’s guilt. Why is there such demonisation of this woman? This trope in our minds that family is always right and another person who might have loved Rajput a lot is wrong, there is a gender component to it. Not only is she a woman – she is a particular kind of woman.” According to Nundy, Rajput’s family’s lawyer said in court that by appearing in a video wearing a salwar kameez, Rhea was trying to “whitewash” her image. 

Nundy added, “The implication is that if you’re not wearing a lot of clothes, you are a criminal and if you’re wearing a salwar kameez, it’s a cover-up.”

It shows that no matter what she says or does the verdict has been declared and she’s been found guilty. Her every move is intricately over analysed to affirm her a criminal.

There are a lot of aspects of the the case that the media or people in general are not aware of, yet she is being cornered and attacked by these vultures who proclaim of seeking justice.

Meanwhile it needs to be noted that the family was not on good terms with Rhea. She has also alleged SSR’s sister of groping her at one incident. There are also several ambiguous financial aspects associated with the deceased.

The misogynistic, patriarchal aspect along with the belief that family can never be wrong are the root causes of this targeted slandering. The ambiguity and misinformation surrounding mental health adds fuel to the fire in which Rhea is being grilled right now.

It’s a conventional thinking that the daughter-in-law is the family breaker and is villainized even without any cause. If she’s disliked by the family she automatically becomes the one who robs the family of their son.

This is what is being executed by the media and easily surmised by the hungry masses. Meanwhile the audience needs to dissect and question what they’re being fed and not fall into the diversion traps laid by these media houses.

Abusing and harassing teachers in online class doesn’t make you cool!!

Online teaching — the new normal to emerge during the lockdown — seems to be losing steam with teachers refusing to conduct classes due to “bullying” by students’ parents. Several teachers, who switched over to the new platform just days ago,are already overwhelmed by the digital experience. They say they are under tremendous pressure, with parents constantly complaining about the poor quality of teaching, spelling mistakes, improper pronunciation, harsh tone of voice, lack of warmth towards children etc. Some videos depicting teachers in poor light owing to their pronunciation have gone viral on social media. 

The interference by overenthusiastic parents has triggered debates in academic circles. Teachers of several prominent private schools across Karnataka have told their managements that they will not conduct online classes anymore. Many have said goodbye to e-teaching sooner than they thought.

As the report given by Hindustan Times teachers are facing many harassment by the students over online class.

As online classes in colleges across the Delhi University (DU) begin amid the lockdown, many teachers have complained that some “mischievous elements”, who are not on the rolls, were “misusing” the medium and harassing teachers with obscene messages and posts.

Several teachers in DU colleges said they were abused and harassed by some attendees during the online classes. The teachers said they have informed the university administration about the misbehaviour.


An assistant professor at a South Campus college, requesting anonymity, said he was taking an online class on the Zoom app last week when a person logged in and started writing obscene messages on the chat. “It was so sudden that it took us a few minutes to realise what was happening. It was embarrassing for us all. We had to abruptly suspend the class. We later went through the recorded video of the lecture to identify the person. We found that there is no student by the name in our class,” he said.

Another faculty member, who teachers at an all-women college in west Delhi, said a person logged in to his class with the username of an adult movie actor, and started posting abusive messages against women. “It’s come to our notice that some outsiders are logging in to our classes using the links we send to our students every day on our college WhatsApp groups. We share our screen during the online classes with our students and everyone can use that and post their views and questions. We are trying to find out a way to address this issue,” the teacher said.

DU executive council (EC) member Rajesh Jha said such incidents are being reported by many teachers over the last few days. “Several women teachers have also informed us that they were abused and harassed during these live classes. The teachers send the invites for live sessions on Zoom or Google Meet to their students every day. The students can log in simply by entering their names and email IDs. These incidents clearly indicate that students are sharing these invites with outsiders as well. Many countries are facing similar issues in conducting online classes,” he said.

According to foreign media reports, Singapore banned some video conferencing applications for teaching purpose after hackers posted obscene images during the classes.

DU Teacher Association (DUTA) secretary Rajinder Singh said they have also received some complaints from teachers. “Teachers have now started taking precautions. Some of them have told us that they immediately remove the person from class who writes or shares any unnecessary messages,” he said.

A senior university official said they are looking into the matter. “We are aware of these incidents. We are looking into the matter and trying to fix it. We may file a police complaint in the matter soon,” a DU official said.

I just want to say that old teachers who doesn’t know how to use the internet and all other things related to internet is trying to teach the students for the sake of student future and carrier. Learning at this age is not so easy for them but still they are trying to cope up with the flow of the nation.so harassing and abusing the teachers doesn’t seems cool.May be students know more about internet but still can’t replace the essence of teacher. I think we should help our teachers to make this online class a successfull step to overcome this pandemic.

Virtual Classrooms – An Alternative for Classroom learning

When the lock down was announced our whole educational system came to an abrupt stop. Now we had to depend on online apps and webinars to learn.

 Until the lock down period was announced most of us were not even aware of the existence of such apps.  By the time lock down was announced the fame for an app like Zoom, had won over the millions of people across the world. It was one of the popular apps used around the world to conduct meetings. It accommodated more than about 100 participants.

First times in online classes are always a headache because half of the people  forget to turn on the audio and camera. Not only us but teachers also have hard time in finding different functions.  Online classes are always an advantage in situations where classroom learning cannot take place but in many strong opinions it can never take over the idea classroom learning.

To the other side of online classes, it opens us to a world of disparities between the elite and the middle class and the poor. An online class eliminates the human connection that a face-to-face, in-house teaching environment provides. An online instructor cannot gauge the mood, involvement and engagement level of her students the way she can in a traditional lecture-based classroom.

There are a lot of problems with online learning. Most of the students will face difficulty in connecting with the teacher. Without a proper connection at home for internet, students will find difficulty in attending the classes. Proper 4G connection is need for the smooth conduct of meeting in Zoom. This creates a digital divide between the students. Not all students can afford a phone or not all will have a proper connection. This creates a differentiate between the haves and have nots. 

Such a simple issue as this can really draw us attention over the issue of network and internet connections, but what most of us forget is in some states of India, internet connections have been cut off which makes it very hard for students in that are to attend class.

Zoom classes does not allow you to enhance your learning capacity. It doesn’t provide for any kind of learning other than the academics. Sometimes the app would crash and there would be a lag.

Most of the times when classes go on, the system gets lagged and create network problems due to which students wont be able to focus. Students are forced to sit in front of their phones for hours listening to lectures which can have a lot of effect on their eyes as well as their thinking capacity.

Sometimes classes are taken without giving any breaks in between, this can cut off the span of concentration of a student. One person can normally concentrate to max to max half an hour without any other thoughts barging in, with proper breaks in between it becomes easier to learn.

Taking all these facts into consideration we can come to the conclusion that online learning may not always be an alternative for classroom education. Being in touch with human beings and socializing with people is what develops a persons character.

Most of us learn from school, from what we see and hear we develop into better versions of ourselves. Being outside in the sun, playing in the mud, reading a book to bed etc adds up to the character of a child. In all places learning by experience matters.

In present times, the whole world is facing a tough time after the spread of Corona Virus and other natural disasters like floods, lightening, forest fires and many more. So human beings are supposed to stand by the side of each other. Days like these, basically when an epidemic is there, are so difficult to handle for the patients as well their family members.


Human being is a social animal with feelings of empathy, compassion and mercy in his heart.


According to Wikipedia, Empathy is the capacity to understand or feel what another person is experiencing from within their frame of reference, that is, the capacity to place oneself in another’s position.


The ones who are suffering from the Corona virus are the worst hit. They are supposed to stay away from their family members. Other people also need to stay away from the infected ones, so that they won’t get affected. As consequence of this, those who are even recovered they are ignored by people and are left all alone.


This hampers their mental health to such an extent that they become sad and depressed. Even if there are lesser chances of spread of virus from them people ignore them and left them aside. Human beings must realize that the ones who are suffering or have undergone the disease are human beings too. They have feelings and sentiments like every other normal person.


Imagine the situation, living all alone isolated in the hospital ward then coming back home and again living in isolation for 14-21 days and even after that still being ignored by people around. It’s so disheartening and depressing too. Human beings are social animals. They have a habit of interacting and talking to each other, sharing experiences but epidemic like these isolate and separate everyone from each other.


Particularly in this time of Corona, individuals are supposed to maintain social distancing but still individuals all can connect with each other through the medium of social media and even physical distancing too with a blend of several precautions to break the chain of the virus. All human beings need love, attention, care and sympathy. One wants others to understand their pains and problems from their point of view and their perspective.


From the past too, there are many such examples of people who have served humanity to a very great extent. Mother Teresa is one such figure who is still known as an epitome of mercy, kindness and empathy.


Empathy is like an extreme sport which is far more exciting from sky diving or surfing or skiing. Empathy can transform the social and political landscapes too.


Epidemics bring out the best and the worst both in human beings. At its worst, witnessing people speaking out as fear, frustration, uncertainty and massive disruptions to the daily routines are so common .With these, victim blaming, mob lynching, intolerance, hostility and at its worst violence stoked by racism and xenophobic beliefs are so common in a country like India.


In the times of an epidemic one must realize their responsibility of making others feel good and comfortable and at the same time focusing upon one’s own self about their mental health too. It’s like one must try to understand each other’s feelings, mood swings and behavior.


Feelings like Empathy and Compassion cannot be developed overnight. One has to try everyday for being a little softer, accessible, and friendlier and calm too at the same time. Human beings have different feelings, different moods so it’s not like that being so nice and every time but still one must try not to get rude to others. One must avoid saying negative things to their loved ones too.


If one can’t motivate or uplift someone, they should even not make others feel low and sad. Showing empathy and engaging in helpful actions, whether it’s donating to a charity or writing a supportive note to a friend, can increase one’s own feelings of social connectedness. Many people have lost their jobs and are out of work, others have no choice but to continue working. So one must try to understand their feelings, try to motivate them and make them feel good about themselves and reminding them of the beautiful times spent together.


Hence, by showing the feelings of love, compassion, oneness, kindness and empathy human beings can gracefully come out from the sad and frightening times of an epidemic. People should try to be kind, humble and polite to the elderly people too by spending time with them, talking to them. For the kids, different interactive games and activities should be organized by parents so that children become more expressive and more comfortable with their parents along with learning different life skills.

Days like pandemic are meant for taking precautions to its fullest and developing inter-personnel skills and developing healthy relationships with nature and people around and loved ones sitting in different parts of the world.

SCIENCE can do anything: 1940’s experiment on dead dog’s head.

Once Martin lurther king. Jr said ‘Our scientific power has outrun our spiritual power. We have guided missiles and misguided men.’ , but in 1940″ during the world war Russian scientists was in different world of experiments. In 1940, Russian scientists released a video of severed dog heads that were kept alive for several hours, wiggling their ears in response to sounds and even licking their mouths. The scientists claimed they could keep the animals alive by an artificial blood circulation system.Experiments in the Revival of Organismsо is a 1940 motion picture which documents Soviet research into the resuscitation of clinically dead organisms. It is available from the Prelinger Archives, and it is in the public domain. The operations are credited to Doctor Sergei Brukhonenko and Boris Levinskovsky, who were demonstrating a special heart-lung apparatus called the autojektor (or autojector), also referred to as the heart-lung machine, to the Second Congress of Russian Pathologists in Moscow.[2] It was filmed at the Institute of Experimental Physiology and Therapy, which is also in Moscow.[3] The heart-lung machine was designed and constructed by Brukhonenko, whose work in the film is said to have led to the first operations on heart valves.The autojektor device demonstrated in the film is similar to modern ECMO machines, as well as the systems commonly used for renal dialysis in modern nephrology.

Sergei Brukhonenko’s ‘Device for Artificial Circulation’ meant that blood could still pump around the body, or head, while the heart was removed.

It consisted of two parts – an oxgenator to saturate the blood with oxygen and removed excess carbon dioxide and a pump.

The pump drew used blood from the hear and deposited it in a glass chamber. It was warmed, oxygenated and then pumped back into the animal.

Using the system of tubes and pumps the head is sustained with oxygen and blood.

The head is subject to stimuli to prove it is in control of its faculties while on the machine.

The pump was not hermetically sealed and eventually the blood would coagulate. However, Brukhonenko was able to keep a dog’s head alive for one hundred minutes.

The device was never used in a clinical open heart surgery and a newer version created in the mid-1950s by John Gibbon overshadowed the work of Brukhonenko.

Modern devices are based on the same principles but are now much more complex and also control the chemical composition and temperature of the blood flowing into the body.

State Of Happiness

Happiness is one of the most essential features of our lives. It is the thing that most people want, yet it is one of the most difficult aspects of life to assess. What is Happiness? How do we define Happiness? How do we measure Happiness? These are the questions that break the limit to its single definition of being happy. Happiness does not have a single universal definition, it is unique for every single individual including me and you. Some find joy in helping others while some find pleasure in hampering others. It is the word that is not only bound to something we have achieved rather it can also come from experiencing loss. An example of experiencing loss in terms of happiness can be the thing precious to you is lost and later on realizing that it is not good for us.

Happiness is used in terms of mental and emotional states, including positive or pleasant emotions ranging from satisfaction to intense joy. Research on happiness has been conducted in scientific disciplines, including social and positive psychology, clinical and medical research and economics of happiness. In the Context of psychology, it is said when one feels intense joy and is very happy he or she develops crow’s feet at the outer corner of the eye. Hence, it is a very subjective topic. 

Secondly, ‘How do we define Happiness’   Happiness comes when we feel satisfied and fulfilled. Happiness is a feeling of contentment, basically, believing that life is just as it should be. Perfect happiness, enlightenment and insight come when we have all of our needs satisfied. There is no need for any definition of happiness as it has a unique meaning for every human being.

By far the most common way that researchers assess happiness is through measuring self-reports. By using questionnaires or surveys, we can simply ask people about their level of happiness. People think about their happiness, and it is pertaining to the soul, so it makes sense ask them about it.
