Key to being Financially Independent in India

We all work right from graduating till retirement for five days a week -sometimes six days – only to spend what we have earned. In the midst of this daily hustle, how much time do we actually devote to plan for financial independence? Hardly any! Is financial independence a plan only for retirement? The answer is NO.

The first step towards financial independence is to not procrastinate it. A single drop of penny today will contribute to an ocean of financial resource. Then comes the below mentioned road map to a start of a great solo journey of life.

  • Financial planning – First, define clear and realistic financial goals like child’s education or a comfortable retired life. It is critical to factor in inflation while drawing up your financial plan. If you are planning your child’s education, you should be aware that a professional degree that costs Rs.4 lakhs today, is likely to cost around Rs.20 lakhs, 10 years from now.
  • Personal research – While a qualified financial planner can give you investment advice, the importance of doing your own research cannot be undermined. You can rely on credible websites to understand the pros and cons of each financial instrument.
  • Personalized financial plan – A common mistake is to opt for a particular plan simply because others are doing so. An investment plan must be customized according to personal factors such as your risk appetite, financial goals and life-stage needs.
  • Adequate time horizon – It is necessary to align the investment plan and the expected time frame for getting returns out of it. It is irrational to expect immediate returns from long term products like insurance, PPF etc.
  • Risk diversification – A smart investor would always ensure that the risk is distributed over a variety of instruments. A high risk instrument such as, an equity should ideally be balanced with a stable one such as bonds. Your investment portfolio should be a judicious mix of equity, debt, life insurance, real estate etc.
  • Planning for unforeseen events – Along with the current assessment of your future needs, risk of unexpected events must also be factored in. As a woman, it is crucial to be financially prepared to deal with unfortunate events like death, divorce etc.
  • Regularly track your investment – It is common to become complacent and expect the returns to flow in, once the investments are done. However, it is every investor`s responsibility to keep a tab on the performance of their portfolio.
  • Proper paperwork – There have been several instances where an investor is unable to claim returns from a bona fide investment simply because of misplaced or wrongly-filled documents. Proper documentation is a must to safeguard your investments. Also, ensure that someone other than yourself is fully aware of all your investments.
  • Securing your future: As a working member of the family, it is crucial for you to have adequate insurance to ensure that in your absence, your family does not go through any financial stress. Investing in a simple term insurance plan will ensure financial continuity.
  • Plan and execute – Last, but most important is to begin planning for all your financial needs from an early stage. The cost of postponement will weigh heavily on you in the later years when investing will become a compulsion rather than a choice.

Dowry – A social evil

A relic of a historical traditi on no longer relevant, the insti tuti on of dowry is one of the most pervasive and damaging features of India’s modern social fabric. It is one of the main causes of violence against women and has caused scores of men to treat women like mere property that can be owned and disposed of, rather than human beings to be respected. While dowry may have initially been seen as a way to help the newly-married couple set up their home, greedy husbands and their families have used it to reduce marriage to a business arrangement where the element of money takes precedence over all other considerations. This greed has led to the horrific and painful death of thousands of women all over India, who have not been able to meet their husband’s family’s ever-increasing demands for dowry and is conti nuing to do so. In order to combat this clear social evil, in 1961 Parliament took the step of introducing legislati on to combat it by enacting the Dowry Prohibiti on Act 1961. This was the first law that made the giving of dowry, the taking of dowry and the demanding of dowry criminal off ences.
A key part of all of these newly-created off ences was the concept of ‘dowry’ and what it included. Therefore, at Section 2 of the Dowry Prohibition Act 1961, the legislature introduced the following definition of dowry:

‘Dowry’ means any property or valuable security given or agreed to be given either directly or indirectly-
(a) by one party to a marriage to the other party to the marriage; or
(b) by the parents of either party to a marriage or by any other person, to either party to the marriage or to any other person;
at or before or anytime aft er the marriage in connecti on with the marriage of said parties but does not include dower or mahr in the case of persons to whom the Muslim Personal Law (Shariat) applies.

The institution of dowry prevalent in India cuts across all religions, castes, races and socio-economic groups. It is seen as a religious obligati on of the father to part with authority over his daughter and, in the course of fulfi llment of this ‘dharma’, the husband and his family are endowed with monetary and other benefi ts bestowed by the bride’s family. Usually the demand made is far beyond the capacity of the woman’s family, resulti ng in huge debts incurred in order to fulfil this religious duty. This custom is so deeply embedded in the larger framework of the society that, more oft en than not, this phenomenon is seen as a regular social practice, surpassing the enormity and threat that it poses to the delicate structure of a healthy and balanced society.


Quite often the form and nature of dowry differs, making it impossible to recognize any one disti nct method of transacti on that would consti tute the giving or taking of dowry. Therefore in additi on to the traditional payments made to the groom and his family, the amount or valuables paid to the husband or his relati ves subsequent to the marriage is also regarded as dowry, the underlying premise being that the transaction is made in connecti on with marriage.


Appallingly but not surprisingly, a major proporti on of violence against women is in relati on to and in connecti on with the failure to pay the amount demanded as dowry. As the phenomenon is not restricted to demands made solely on the occasion of marriage but long after the sacrament has been solemnized, there have been instances where torture of the bride and ‘bride burning’ have been reported years aft er the couple have cohabited together under the insti tuti on of marriage.


To combat the growing menace of dowry, the legislature enacted the Dowry Prohibition Act in 1961. Though the Act was the first major step by the legislature to deal with the ever increasing and variant forms of dowry, several legal infi rmiti es within the Act have prevented it from achieving what was intended of it, which necessitated further steps being taken to combat the problem.


As a result the legislature added Secti on 304-B to the Indian Penal Code, 1860, which made ‘dowry death’ a specific offence punishable with a minimum sentence of imprisonment for seven years and a maximum sentence of imprisonment for life. Although this provision, when read in conjuncti on with secti on 113B of the Evidence Act 1872, has enabled the convicti on of many who were not caught by the Dowry Preventi on Act, it too has failed to fully combat the menace of dowry. Perhaps in response to this failure, a recent trend of the judiciary has been to include a charge under Section 302 IPC, a murder charge, in additi on charges under Secti on 304-B IPC, as this allows courts to impose the death penalty on the perpetrators of the off ence. It remains to be seen whether this trend will conti nue but it is our sincere hope that it will not – Whilst the crime of dowry death is indeed a heinous and terrible crime, the implementati on of the death penalty for those convicted does no justi ce to either party.

According to NCRB reports on an average, every hour a woman succumbs to dowry deaths in India with the annual figure rising upwards of 7000. No matter how many PhDs a woman earns, her identity and the right to live is decided according to the kilos of gold, cash, latest vehicles and appliances she brings in dowry for her in-laws. Covid-19:India adds 24,879 new cases, total cases 7,67,296.

India had a record single-day surge of 24,879 Corona cases taking the cases to 7,67,296 on Thursday, with Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Delhi, Telangana, UP and Andhra Pradesh contributing to around 75 per cent of the new cases, according to the Union Health Ministry data.

The death toll climbed to 21,129 with 487 new deaths, the updated data at 8 am showed.

There have been 4,76,377 recovered cases, while there are 2,69,789 active cases of coronavirus infection in the country.

“Around 62.08 per cent of patients have recovered so far,” an official said.

The total number of confirmed cases included foreigners.

Of the 487 deaths reported in the last 24 hours, 198 are from Maharashtra, 64 from Tamil Nadu, 54 from Karnataka, 48 from Delhi, 23 from West Bengal, 18 from Uttar Pradesh, 16 from Gujarat, 12 from Andhra Pradesh, 11 from Telangana, 10 from Rajasthan, seven from Madhya Pradesh, six each from Jammu and Kashmir and Odisha, three each from Bihar, Uttarakhand, Punjab and Haryana and two from Assam.

India is seeing huge surge in cases with almost 20,000 to 25,000 new cases every day. The positive fact is that recovery rate is very good around 61 % and death rate is also nearly 4-5% .India is facing many tensions amid such pandemic ie border disputes with China, terrorist attacks from Pakistan as well as internal attacks from gangsters. The US may impose ban on TikTok along with other Chinese apps after India.

Mike Pompeo, the U.S. Secretary of State, has said that the country is contemplating to ban Chinese apps which include the majorly popular app, TikTok. Having said that, he also has mentioned how TikTok has caused security breaches by sharing information with the Chinese government. The app has experienced massive growth all over the world and now this statement by the Secretary of State could cause a major blow to the app.

On being asked a question which was on the lines of recommending users to download TikTok, Mike Pompeo replied saying, ‘ Only if you want your private information in the hands of the Chinese Communist Party. ‘

This is definitely not the first time the TikTok has received a backlash on how this particular app is responsible for relaying information of a particular country back to China, India too has made the same allegations recently.

The ban may be seen in coming week after India had raised questions against The Chinese apps for sharing information with other servers located outside India. This can be huge blow to TikTok company after its ban in India.Now, U.S. lawmakers are also of the same opinion that the app definitely has some serious security concerns that should not be overlooked at any cost. Chinese laws also need domestic companies ‘to support and cooperate with intelligence work controlled by the Chinese Communist Party.’ The U.S government has now made it very clear that the citizens of the country should be wary of the app.

The Chinese based app, which is owned by ByteDance, was asked to clarify the statements that stated the security concerns, to which it had completely denied the same. ‘We have no higher priority than promoting a safe and secure app experience for our users. We have never provided user data to the Chinese government, nor would we do so if asked,’ TikTok has mentioned in the email it has sent.

It has now created a safe distance from its Chinese roots hoping to calm the global uproar it has created. In the case of the U.S., it is still unclear if the sole reason behind the thought of banning this app is purely based on security concerns.

‘Dhoni not thinking about retirement:’, his manager provides huge updates on former Indian captain’s future.

MS Dhoni’s manager Mihir Diwakar has clarified that the wicketkeeper batsman does not seem to be harbouring thoughts of retirement as of now. The former India captain, who has not played any form of cricket since India’s World Cup exit last year, turned 39 on Tuesday.

His manager and childhood friend Mihir Diwakar, while speaking to PTI, gave a peek into the trailblazer’s reclusive life at his home in Ranchi.

“Patriotism is in his blood, be it serving for the country (in defence) or (farming) the land, he’s very passionate about it. He has about 40-50 acres of farm land and he is busy growing organic crops like papaya, banana there,” Diwakar said.

The wicketkeeper-batsman was expected to be back in action at the IPL but that has been postponed indefinitely due to the COVID-19 pandemic.He was recently seen driving a tractor during the lockdown. Diwakar said they are soon going to launch their organic fertiliser under their company’s name Neo Global.

He said the fertiliser is being tested at Dhoni’s farm. Dhoni recently spoke about the harmful impact of pesticides in a video to promote organic farming. “We have a team of experts and scientists and they have developed the fertiliser and it should be launched within two-three months,” Diwakar said.”I spoke to him past midnight. It was a normal business talk. As usual, Dhoni would be at home with his family, with a quiet birthday celebration.”

In the press release, ACC stated that the travel restrictions, different quarantine rules of countries, health risks and social distancing norms have posed as challenges to the conduct of the Asia Cup.The Asian Cricket Council on Thursday announced that the 2020 Asia Cup has been postponed. ACC stated that it will try to secure the window of June 2021 to schedule the tournament.

Right from the beginning the board was to organise the tournament as per the original schedule.However, travel restrictions, country-specific quarantine requirements, fundamental health risks and social distancing norms have posed as substantial challenges to the holding of the Asia Cup. Why are numbers banned?

Bans, they are measures taken by the government to control whatever they feel is threatening to their rule or to the general populace. They say the pen is mightier than the sword, and authorities have often agreed. From outlawed religious tracts and revolutionary manifestos to censored and burned books, we know the potential power of words to overturn the social order. But as strange as it may seem, some numbers have also been considered dangerous enough to ban. Our distant ancestors long counted objects using simple tally marks. But as they developed agriculture and began living together in larger groups this was no longer enough. As numbers grew more complex, people began not just using them, but thinking about what they are and how they work.

By 600 B.C.E ancient Greece, the study of numbers was well developed. Pythagoras, one of the most famous mathematicians and his school of followers found numerical patterns in shapes, music and stars. For them math held the deepest secrets of the universe. But one Pythagorean named Hippasus discovered something disturbing. Some quantities like the diagonal of a square with sides of length one each couldn’t be expressed by any combination of whole numbers or fractions, no matter how small. These numbers which we call irrational numbers, were seen as a threat to the Pythagorean notion of a perfect universe. They imagined a reality that could be described with rational, numerical patterns. Historians write that Hippasus was exiled for publicizing his findings while legends of the Pythagorean era claim he was drowned by the god themselves as punishment for his blasphemous findings. While irrational numbers upset philosophers, later mathematical inventions would draw attention from political and religious authorities as well. In the middle ages, while Europe was still using roman numerals other cultures had developed positional systems that included a symbol for zero. When Arab merchants brought this system to Italy, its advantages for merchants and traders was clear. However, the authorities were wary as Hindu- Arabic numerals were quite easy to forge or alter, especially since they were less familiar to customers than to merchants. And since the concept of zero opened the path to negative numbers and the recording of debt at a time when money-lending was regarded with suspicion. In 13th century, Florence totally banned the usage of Hindu- Arabic numerals for record keeping. Even though they were immensely useful, controversies regarding zero and negative numbers continued for a long time. Negative numbers were dismissed as absurd and prominent mathematicians like Gerolamo Cardano avoided using zero despite the easier route it provided to solve cubic and quartic equations. Even today it is illegal to use various numbers for a plethora of reasons. Governments usually ban the usage f numbers which have symbolic meanings or connections to opposing political figures and parties. Some numbers are banned because of the sensitive information they carry. These days any image, file, video or executable program can be translated into a string of numbers. So, this means protected materials such as copyrights and state secrets can also be represented as numbers, so possessing or publishing these are considered a criminal offense.

Thus, in a world where calculations and algorithms, shape more and more of our lives, the mathematicians pen grows stronger each passing day.

Indian government imposes ban on Chinese mobile app .

Under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act, the Government of India decided to block 59 apps as these apps were a threat to India’s sovereignty and integrity, defense of India, security of the state and public order. The government had received many complaints about these apps from various sources, including about the misuse of many mobile apps. Government concerned over return of large number of Indian students from US due F1 visa issues.

The US order of July 7 stating that F1 visas will not be renewed for students if they are attending only online- lectures in the US is a concerning mater for India since the highest number of foreign students in the US are from India. The US government has announced those F-1 and M-1 (non-academic and vocational students) visa holders attending only online classes will not be allowed to remain in the US.

US Noted India's Concerns Regarding F-1 Visa Issue: Centre

India on Thursday said it has reported its concerns to the US govt about the new rule on F1 visa and urged to keep in mind the role education have played in the developing relationship between the two countries.

The concerns were expressed during the virtual foreign office consultations between Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla and US political affairs secretary David Hale on Tuesday. Ministry of External Affairs’ spokesperson Anurag Srivastava said that the US government has looked into the concern regarding the new rule.

During virtual meeting, Srivastava said that India is concerned about the possibility of the return of a large number of Indian students studying in the US due to new rules in visa.

The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), an agency of the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on Monday said that the foreign students pursuing courses in the US must return to their country if their institutes are conducting only online course due to covid-19 pandemic.

What is ABORTION?

  • Ectopic Pregnancy
    • The development of the fetus outside of the uterus. 
  • Placental Complications
    • Placental Abruption – detached placenta from the uterine wall
    • Placental Previa – the condition in which the placenta is attached too close to the cervix. 
  • Preeclampsia or Eclampsia
    • Pregnancy-induced high blood pressure
    • Can lead to seizures, coma, and death

Who is Allowed to get an Abortion in India?

Medical Termination of Pregnancy (MTP) Act legalized the termination of pregnancy (still not using the word abortion) with several conditions up to 20 weeks (from the first day of the last menstrual period). The conditions are:

  • “When continuation of pregnancy is a risk to the life of a pregnant woman or could cause grave injury to her physical or mental health;
  • When there is substantial risk that the child, if born or dead would be seriously handicapped due to physical or mental abnormalities;
  • When pregnancy is caused due to rape (presumed to cause grave injury to the mental health of the woman);
  • When pregnancy is caused due to failure of contraceptives used by a married woman or her husband (presumed to constitute grave injury to mental health of the woman).”

The Indian Abortion Laws are not liberal and do not permit women to terminate a pregnancy because they are not ready or unprepared. More information on the legal details of abortion in India can be found here.

Who is allowed to Perform an Abortion in India?

The MTP Act also specifies who is legally allowed to terminated a pregnancy, a practitioner who 

  • “has a recognized medical qualification under the Indian Medical Council Act, 
  • whose name is entered in the State Medical Register, and 
  • who has experience or training in gynecology and obstetrics.”

Not every Gynaecologist and/or Obstetrician is legally allowed to perform abortions. Be sure to check their license and get a safe and secure abortion if and when needed.

Consent for Abortion?

In India, an adult woman does not need consent from her husband, father nor the father of her unborn child until 20 weeks of gestation. Minors, however, require a legal adult’s consent. 

Once the pregnancy crosses 20 weeks, a woman needs special permission from the courts and two other people’s consent to be able to terminate her pregnancy.

To get an abortion, there are a legal-forms one needs to fill and sign. It is important to be aware of what documents you are signing and the terms you are agreeing to. 

The Price for abortions is fixed, a first-trimester abortion is approximately, Rs.500-1000 while a second-trimester abortion cost around, Rs.2000-3000. 

It is important to know your rights and pay only the correct rate. If a doctor charges more, you are entitled to report them. 

Many doctors are known to charge Rs,10,000, and more.

There is a procedure that mot doctors follow. You are entitled to find out the procedure before-hand and report anyone for misbehavior.

There are two methods, oral and surgical. 

Oral Method Procedure:

If the pregnancy is less than 6 weeks, a mother can opt for the oral method

  • Ultrasound – to check for the duration of pregnancy or to see if it is a tubal pregnancy
  • Medication is prescribed 
  • Blood tests are done
  • 2 doses are given 48hrs apart.

Surgical Method Procedure:

  • Ultrasounds and Blood tests
  • Depending on the duration of the pregnancy, medication is prescribed to dilute the uterus.

One of the below

  • Vacuum Aspiration.
  • Dilation and Evacuation.
  • Dilation and Curettage.
  • Suction evacuation.

Oral Method:

  • Bleeding is common in the 24-48 hours whole taking the dose and lasts for a week
  • Tissue might retain in some cases which leads to incomplete abortion. Suctional evacuation is important.
  • Confirmation of a complete abortion is done by another ultrasound.

Surgical Method:

  • The pain during and after the process varies for each woman.

General:

  • Maintain a proper diet
  • Take proper medications on time
  • Avoid exercising and moving around a lot
  • Counseling is important to recover
  • Avoid tampons during the menstrual cycle
  • No sexual contact for at least a month.

When is Abortion not Safe?

Abortion is unsafe if a woman:

  • Is more than 70 days pregnant (counted from the first day of the last menstrual period)
  • Has bleeding problems or is taking blood-thinning medication
  • Has chronic adrenal failure or is taking certain steroid medications
  • Cannot attend the medical visits necessary to ensure the abortion is completed
  • Does not have access to emergency care
  • Has uncontrolled seizure disorder (for misoprostol)
  • Has acute inflammatory bowel disease (for misoprostol)

Risks of Abortions:

Abortion has serious effects on a woman’s body. The following are a few risks associated with abortion:

  • Heavy bleeding
  • Infections
  • Incomplete abortions
  • Damage to the cervix
  • Scarring of the uterine lining 
  • Perforation of the uterus
  • Damage to internal organs
  • Miscarriages in future pregnancies

  • Sexual dysfunction
  • Prone to addiction

When to Call your Doctor?

It is normal to contact your doctor after an abortion with any queries. 

These are the signs of complications where calling your doctor is important:

  • Excessive Bleeding
    • Bleeding is normal, but excessive bleeding is not.
  • No bleeding in the first 24 hours.
  • Signs of infection
    • Headache
    • Muscle aches
    • Dizziness
    • Fever
  • Severe abdominal pain
  • Fever that lasts for more than 4 hours
  • Vomiting for more than 4-6hours
  • Sudden belly swelling
  • Rapid heart rate
  • Smelly vaginal discharge
  • Pain, redness, and swelling in the genital area
  • Any other unexplainable symptoms

After a surgical abortion, follow up with one or more of these medical exams:

  • A physical exam of the cervix and uterus
  • A lab test to check your hCG levels
  • Blood test for anemia

Horrors of Remote Work

Before the pandemic hit the world, working at remote locations or rather work from home was supposedly believed to give a sense of joy. But now, work from home has become the new normal with the trend hitting most of the multinational corporations. But as we are trying to combat the virus by confining ourselves to our homes, some data theft ‘viruses’ are lurking outside our homes. With most of us using the setups outside the security layers of office, data thieves are trying to tap on those setups to maximize their wealth.

Remote work might be enjoyable in all aspects, but it also possesses certain downsides which can be horrifying both the recipient and the sender of the network. Looking at various perspectives as well experiencing some, I would like to highlight a few such instances:

  1. Public Wi-Fi network. Usage of public Wi-Fi internet connection to do office work can be very unsecure owing to the malicious parties trying to tap the internet traffic to collect confidential information. Potential malwares such as Trojan horse, virus, worms, spyware, rootkits etc. can very easily damage your service with irreparable effects.
  2. Unlocked device. When working in a public location or at home, sometimes we have the tendency to just leave it and get up to do some chore or to even just get a glass of water. In the meantime the confidential data such as office website, servers or mails gets exposed to the stranger or children at home, which can lead to data leakage, thus compromising the security.
  3. Use of personal devices and networks. Most companies have started this policy where you can use your personal setups such as laptop or desktop at your home. Usually the IT Department configures all the required software in your personal device and you can use it for professional reasons. Issue arises when you are using the same device for your personal work such as installing an app or browsing in such websites which can have malicious content and thus your system, data and majorly, your confidential office data gets compromised. But then the question arises, who is to be blamed here? Is it the organization who allowed the associate to compromise company’s data with the personal setup without enough security firewall? Or is the associate who should have taken care while using it for personal uses?
  4. Wary of VPN. Many a times, the remote workers are over-confident about the confidential data-security and since VPN can make the internet connection a bit slower, people tend to just overlook it. But what they forget in the meantime is that Virtual Private Network (VPN) can restrict the flow of information or data to the intended recipient as well as encrypt the data.
  5. Exposure of home router. It’s a human habit to either go for very weak password or avoid password altogether, lest one might forget. And such a habit can easily throw us into the devil’s mouth.
  6. Opening ‘all’ kinds of e-mails. Hackers and phishers wait for the opportunity to bask in glory when they send us a very catchy and a ‘congratulatory’ kind of mail and wait for our ‘one-click’ on that mail. And after that, everything becomes a history.
  7. Device always switched-on. If we get a notification on our setup asking to restart the system in order to install the updates, we tend to reschedule it to the point when we can avoid it altogether. Non-updated device are the most-prone device to each and every kind of threat.

Just a heads up, these are some, but not exhaustive, lists of threats and danger one can face from remote work. Nevertheless, these also have their own solution but it demands a chunk of our attention and intervention. So from the next time, when you sit down and switch on your system to work, always remember there is an extra pair of eyes looking upon you.

It’s you whom you should change. People are easy target for them. It’s us who should make us strong. Beleiving is good, but trusting is not better. They create a impression on your brain that you get attracted to them. It’s not your weakness, it’s their strength. Try to make yourself from such incidents.

Trusting blindly will not happen all of sudden. It’s a slower process where they crate a impact of them on you. People with clarity will definitely fake the people who actually wanted to fake us. So be careful while choosing friends. It’s easy to get influenced because it’s difficult to influence. Believing and betraying is a cycle. People who got betrayed will become the people will betray. it’s a never ending cycle. It ends when people start betraying. It only happens when people stop betraying. Have clarity over such things. There are too smart to catch. They influence you with their magical words which create a direct impact on your brain. Escape from such things.

Have a true life rather than making people suffer. Be kind and gentle atleast to yourself. Anyone no one gonna live permanent. People will betray someone untill people stop betraying. Have guts to earn something by working hard. Believe in your work and have confidence in you. Be happy with what you have rather than wasting your time on something that you never get. Go in a truthful manner and definitely right yhing will happen.

All students who have appeared for the exams are advised to keep an eye on the website and check their results.

To check the results once they are out, follow this steps:

step 1-Visit the official website at https://www.cisce.org/

step 2-Go on the ‘Careers’ portal on the homepage.

Step 3: Now, click on the relevent exam link.

Step 4: Enter all the details asked including your roll number, click submit

Step 5: You result will now appear on the screen.

Step 6: Download and take a print-out for a future reference.

Earlier in the day, the CISCE board reduced 25 per cent syllabus from this year’s curriculum in view of the coronavirus pandemic.

According to the latest notification issued by the ICSE Board, the decision to reduce the syllabi will be applicable for Class 9 to Class 12 students and has been taken to reduce the burden amid limited teaching via online classes. The CISCE stated that the reduced syllabus aims to cope with the loss of instructional hours due to the difficulties faced in the academia in the lockdown situation.
