Online Education

Online education is not something that was established just after covid. It has existed before the coronavirus too, but the need for online education is not there. It was a highly considered method during this pandemic due to the inability due to spread the contagious virus. The classes which were conducted with board and chalk are replaced with PowerPoint presentations and mouse cursors. It was a bane to some, while it was a boon to others.

Advantages of Offline education

  1. Environment : May it be a school, college or work place the most important factor is the environment surrounding it. It is the environment that gives us the exposure and the needed opportunities and chances to fall and raise again. Even if we fall, we will definitely will have someone to pull up again and there are will be some who will share their experiences on the current field.
  2. Doubt Solving : In Offline, anyone can ask doubts to teachers and professors at any time. There is no need of waiting for the right place and the right time. Either as a school student or a college student , we can ask doubts at the period at that time itself.
  3. Guidance : We can always ask our doubts to our seniors who had experienced similar situations. There will be no barrier between them and us.
  4. Discipline : Discipline is one of the core principles of life and it will be taught only in offine education. Everyone will be regular to their respective places , maintaining obedience and discipline. The value of discipline is not realised until the 20’s. It will make us reach heights of life even we wouldn’t have dreamed about it.
  5. Consistency : Consistency comes together with people who are disciplined. Consistency is the way to learn any skill and be talented in that. It will not be a problem for disciplined people since they follow it everyday and keeps their day productive as possible.

Advantages of Online education

  1. Recorded Sessions : The main advantage of online education is the videos can be seen any number of times at any place. If some doubt sarises, we can refer the videos. Most of the online classes nowadays are recorded to provide the students this wonderful facility to clear doubts.
  2. Time Saving : Online classes saves a lot of time such as travelling time. Students can use this time to upskill themselves and to be productive.

Disadvantages of Online education

  1. Non-availability of Phone : Even though online education is a convenient, flexible and cost efective method of education, not everyone can afford smart devices like Phone, Laptop, Tablet etc… This disadvantages is mainly for people who face difficulty in even afford daily expenses. This was quite proven in many places during this pandemic.
  2. Network facilities : After Smart devices, internet facility is another important thing to see online classes.
  3. Lack of Discipline
  4. Lazyness
  5. Losing the ability to think
  6. Increased usage of devices

Conclusion

Each has its own advantages and disadvantages. If we think and follow online classes just like offline classes, the productivity will be maximum and there will be no issue .

Important things to keep in mind while choosing a college for admission

If you are in high school and contemplating on what college would be best suited for you for pursuing your graduation, here are some things that you might want to keep in mind while doing so:
1) Subject
If you have a choice of subject and has already made up your mind on pursuing that specific subject, then this step is easy for you. You can make a list of potential colleges that offer your subject of choice and then filter out what is best suited for you. For instance, if you are willing to get an english honours, you might not only consider the subject alone but also look out for other programmes the college has to offer such as debates, writing competition, etc that would help you to brush up your skills further. If you have a senior or some acquaintance who is in the same field, you can go to then for suggestions too.

2) Public college or private college?
While public colleges are funded by the state, private colleges have relatively higher course fee structure than public ones. However, the high cost of education can have long lasting implications on your life since beacuse of the money involved, they might offer other programs and seminars and sometimes excursions which can help to develop your skills and increase your knowledge in the field.

3) Location
Do you want to study in a college in a big city? How is the weather there? Are you willing to stay away from family incase your college is far? What are the transportation facilities available? These are some of the questions you might consider asking yourself before choosing your college of choice.

4) Student Activities
Are you into sports or say dancing, drama or maybe music? Whatever your hobbies are, it is always better to choose a college that will allow you to pursue them. Sometimes a break from studies and doing what you enjoy the most would make your overall learning experience more fun. You can join clubs of your ineterest and take part in programmes and competitions as well. This will allow you to showcase your skills apart from academics and will help you to maintain a balance between your studies and social life.

5) Career services
Majority of students go to college so that they could land up a job and contribute towards the society. So, internship programs and list of companies that have come earlier for job recruitments are the things you might want to check out before taking admission.

Listed above are some of the basic points that you might want to keep in mind to ward off any future problems. You are free to choose the college of your dreams and pursue what you want. There are some top notch colleges that might be offering scholarships, so if you want to get into them you might as well work hard to get in on a scholarship. All the best for your future!

Woh Din

When you are wasting another important year of your life but this time it’s isn’t your fault.

Now it’s been more than a year, the students haven’t seen the colleges and schools, even some of the students are now gonna start their second year in colleges but still they don’t even know how their college campus look like. It is the most hurtful thing that we are spending our most beautiful years of life like this, infront of the laptop and smartphone screens. When the lockdown started I was studying in first year and now I’m third year engineering student, I still don’t know how my classroom, classmates and faculty members look like in real life.

The “Woh Din” which were supposed to filled with joy, happiness, fun with friends and lots of travel are ending with “ Am I audible? Yes sir”. In this lockdown many students suffered and some are still suffering from stress, anxiety and demotivation, besides some are just enjoying it like holidays. Lockdown and the online mode education is pretty nice, just enjoy your time with family, learn new things and many more, until then, the thoughts of future knocks at the door.

While the students are struggling to learn through online mode, the teachers and the colleges are mostly focusing on how they can complete the syllabus as early as possible, teachers are also want to help the students and they are doing their best from their side but everything have some advantages and disadvantages like this, online education also have it’s own disadvantages and advantages.

First we thought that the world is testing our patience but, even the nicest person has it’s limit and now we all have had enough of this, we are too young to dealing with all this but we haven’t given up, but now we really want our college life back, those cafeteria talks, waiting for your friends in parking lot, computer lab fun, bunking class and hanging out with your friends, campus rides and many more.

Now we all are going to complete 2 years, while fighting against this covid19 situation and online mode, in this period we all have experienced a lot of good and bad things like, the time we spent with our family. Similarly, we all struggled with lack of oxygen cylinders, hospital beds and most important is FOOD and after all this time we want is to end this “ Mask-World ”. Hope it will really end very soon and we all will get our old life back with No-Mask and the colleges will start soon, hope the world will come to it’s oldself very soon. But until then please give mental support to them who are suffering from depression and those who are tested covid positive.

And last but not the least please stay home and don’t worry this time also will pass very soon.

Take care.

Things you should definitely do during your college life

You would agree that the college years are the most fun years of your life. The time we had spent in our college, bunking class and hanging out with our friends all day. We never wanted to get out of it! So here are 5 things you must do while you are in college.

1. Interact with your seniors

During our college life our seniors are the one who knows our college, teachers the better than us, that’s why its very important to interact with our seniors. Talk to them make them your friends, take advantage of their experience and most important ask them what mistakes they had done as fresher’s and make sure not to repeat those mistakes.

2. Participate in college fests

Never participated in any school function before? Well! It’s the time! Participate in your college fests, trust me college fests are the most fun places you’d ever be and the best place to showcase your talent. Its right time to gain some confidence, get out of your comfort zone and to face your fears. Dance , sing, act, play sports do whatever you want to do just enjoy the moment.

3. Hang out on campus on an off day

Everyone goes to college on a college day. But have you ever stepped into the campus on an off day? You must. No professors, no staff, no one to disturb you. Of course, you’ll have to sneak in and play hide and seek with security, but it’ll be worth it. You can do all the crazy shit you want with your buddies inside the campus, which you’ll never be able to do on a college day.

4. Go for an off-campus internship

Internships are an integral part of college curriculum. Whether it’s paid internship or unpaid it will definitely help you to get a good full time job and help you to take a glance into your work life after college years. Completing an paid or unpaid internship is similar to getting good grades in your exams. Doing an internship is the only way you can learn more about a life of an employee and the big world outside your college.

5. Be a part of any technical or cultural club

Being a part of collage cultural clubs or technical clubs is the best opportunity to showcase your talent and skills. Technical club will help you to hone your technical skills through workshops and projects, this will also help you to think more creatively. Apart from this you will get a chance to interact with your seniors, juniors and the other people outside your college, it will help you to make more friends. Being a part of any technical or cultural club will definitely help you to increase your leadership skills, communication skills and many more.
