GRATITUDE

Gratitude is a wonderful method to improve our life. It refers to the feeling and attitude of gratitude and appreciation for all that we have in life. It has been scientifically shown that expressing gratitude to others makes us feel happier and calmer. As a result, it allows kindness into our lives. It makes you pleased, for example, when a stranger holds the door for you or greets you.

Gratitude, in layman’s terms, is the trait of showing gratitude to someone for an act of compassion or assistance. It’s the same trait that makes you remember someone’s kindness to you and makes you want to repay the favour. If you have a strong want to repay someone who has aided you, this desire is nothing more than appreciation. Only gratitude motivates you to express thanks or write a thank you note to your teacher.

Why is it Important To Express Gratitude To Your Parents?

Feeling grateful has many benefits for your body, mind, and relationships, according to Robert Emmons, a world-renowned scientist and authority on the issue of gratitude. You must understand that when you were a child, your parents were the closest people to you and the ones with whom you spent the most time. This may not apply to everyone, but it does to the vast majority of individuals.

Kindness and success both begin at home. Another thing to keep in mind is that you, too, will become a parent at some point. As a result, how you treat your parents will have an effect on your relationship with your children. If you are grateful for your parents and always express gratitude for the good they have brought into your life, you will feel the same way when you become a parent.

How to Make Gratitude a Habit:

Gratitude can be practiced in a variety of ways, including:

1.Make a daily list of all the nice things that happen to you and who is responsible for them.

2.Make plans to repay the favour at a later date.

3.Recognize the value of everything around us, including nature, animals, and plants.

4.When feasible, express gratitude to various community helpers such as the washerman, gardener, policemen, sweepers, and others.

5.Every day as you wake up, thank God for such a beautiful day.

6.Thank God once more for all the trials you’ve faced today that have made you wiser and stronger.

Advantages of Gratitude:

Gratitude provides a variety of advantages in both your personal and social lives.

Relationship Strengthening: Gratitude improves the quality of your relationships with others. Being grateful is a lovely sensation and experience that enhances both parties bonds. It promotes the sense of being recognised and acknowledged, as well as the trust element.

Makes You Smile: Gratitude has a joyful quality to it. When you express appreciation or receive it, you feel glad for doing something nice or for having something good done to you. People who feel grateful are known to have lower stress levels.

Makes Society More Sensible: The happiest and most rational society is one in which people express thanks for one another. People are considerate and never miss an opportunity to express gratitude to others. A Intelligent society will inevitably progress in the correct direction.

Reduces comparisons and increases acceptance: When you express gratitude for others, you don’t make comparisons based on their financial situation or other things. You’re merely grateful to everyone and proud of their accomplishments.

A Memorable Spooky Experience.

Ok, i will narrate my experience you can decide whether it was paranormal or not. Sorry some of you may find it lengthy. I am a big believer of paranormal, and may be this is the reason that i have had a couple of paranormal experiences.

Who Knocks?’ ‘I who was beautiful Beyond all dreams to restore, I from the roots of the dark thorn am hither And knock on the door.’

Lines from Walter De La Mare’s The Ghost haunt my memory as I take a walk back to the past. People usually refer to the past as dead and buried. Is it really so?

It was a cold night in Deogarh, Jharkhand. I was in Class V then. We were supposed to go to a party at a friend’s house about one-and-a-half kilometres away. My mother was working in the local school. Mum and Dad were supposed to reach the house of Barry Uncle, our host while I was to be accompanied by our caretaker, Ramu.

It was a moonlit night. Deogarh is surrounded by lovely hills and trees. The silhouette of trees in the moonlight is one combination I love. Ramu had an upset stomach after eating thirty-seven pakoras the day before. So I was going alone but I did not feel lonely. The moon was travelling with me. I could see it moving across the branches as I walked. The gentle laughter of a lady suddenly pierced the charming silence of the night air.

A girl in bright red appeared suddenly, ‘Why do you keep looking up to your left while you walk?

I was looking at the moon,’ I answered, rather embarrassed at having my romance with the moon noticed.

The girl asked, You are going to the party, right?”

“How do you know?

“It is a small place. People know each other. I will give you company.”

“So kind of you.

So we talked, laughed and joked for the next twenty minutes. 1 noticed her carefully. Red blouse, red and white skirt, light make up, bright red shoes. A small red bag. The lipstick was a bit too bright. She had amazing grace in the way she walked. Her lively but gentle laughter had the freshness of a mountain spring. We were discussing hobbies. She said she liked collecting old photographs. Why old?’ I asked.

She looked at me queerly and answered, ‘Old photographs have lots of hidden and forgotten stories.

“All right, I said.

Barry Uncle’s house was decorated beautifully. Music and lights welcomed us. Suddenly, the girl stopped smiling. She turned around. ‘What is wrong?’ I asked her.

I prefer the moonlight. I will not go in,’ she said and started walking away.

At least take this jacket,’ I offered her. She was my height and I knew about chivalry. She gave me a mysterious smile, wore the jacket, and walked into the darkness.

In the party, I grooved to the music for some time. I needed to have a wash. While moving towards the washroom, I suddenly came across a photograph of Barry Uncle with the stranger I had just met. “That’s my niece, Mary. She died two years ago in a tragic accident,’ Barry Uncle said, with a note of sadness in his voice. She is buried in the graveyard behind St Michael’s Church,’ he added.

This is indeed an experience that I would not dare to forget……………….

HUMANITY

Humanity is defined as the quality of being human; the unique nature of man that distinguishes him from other beings. Being human does not imply that one has humanity. If you want to know how human a person is, look at what he does for others who don’t return the favour. Mother Teresa has beautifully portrayed one of the most extraordinary examples of extra-ordinary humanity in a human being. When and whenever possible, humanity entails caring for and assisting others.

Humanity entails putting other’s needs before your own, and putting others’ needs ahead of your own when they want assistance. Humanity entails expressing unconditional love to all living things on the planet. The following anecdote serves as an excellent illustration of humanity.

Importance of Humanity:

As humanity progresses towards the future, the true essence of humanity is increasingly distorted. It is critical to remember that actions of humanity must not be motivated by selfish benefit such as celebrity, money, or power. Borders divide the world we live in today, but our reach is infinite. We are fortunate in that we have the ability to travel wherever we choose and experience whatever we desire. Countless nations struggle incessantly over territory, resulting in the deaths of many innocent people.

Similarly, other humanitarian crises such as those in Yemen, Syria, Myanmar, and others have claimed the lives of millions of people. Because the situation is unlikely to be resolved anytime soon, humanity is required. Most importantly, humanity is concerned not only with humans but also with the environment and all living things. We must all band together to display true humanity and aid in the healing and prosperity of other humans, animals, and the environment.

Instead of fighting about democracy in other nations, we should ask ourselves if we have a voice in our own. Because power corrupts even the most strong-willed, we should exercise our right to vote and enhance the government’s procedures. Stop photographing flora and animals to show your friends and relatives. Look at the trees, animals, and natural beauty with your real eyes, not through the lens of a camera. Bring your friends and family to see the breathtaking beauties that surround us and share this beauty with them.

While technology and democracy have given us the ability to accelerate the pace of change in our society, they have also corrupted us. It has given us a sense of unlimited power and knowledge, making us feel as if we are Gods. No, we aren’t gods, and we have no power over other people’s lives. Only that right is theirs. However, we can and must alter ourselves by making informed selections, making the best life choices, and not allowing others to make our decisions for us.

The narrative of a king is an excellent illustration of mankind. When a dove and an eagle were fighting, a kind-hearted king witnessed it. He could communicate with birds and other animals. The pigeon requested the king’s assistance in escaping the eagle’s clutches. The king promised the eagle that in exchange for saving the pigeon, he would pay any price. The eagle requests from the monarch that he be given the same amount of flesh as the pigeon. The king agrees to the Eagle’s condition and begins hacking off his own flesh in proportion to the pigeon’s meat. He finds the pigeon heavier even after donating a small amount of his flesh. Finally, he gives the Eagle his entire being to consume. The Eagle and the Pigeon both transform into angels at that point, appearing on the ground to test the king’s humanity.

For his deeds of humanity, the monarch has now been awarded with the most beautiful prizes and afterlife heaven. This narrative can be interpreted as an overblown statement intended to make people realise the importance of humanity in their daily lives. One crucial truth to remember is that “an individual’s life is measured not by the number of degrees he or she holds, but by the degree of humanitarian actions that one engages in on a daily basis.”

ETHICS

Ethics are fundamental principles or ideas that govern a person’s or a community’s activities. This is not a burden to bear, but rather a sensible and successful guide to life and advancement. Because ethics is a fundamental cornerstone on which an enlightened system is based, it is required in business, as well as academic institutions and societal organizations. Following legal laws and being ethical are frequently not synonymous. Emotions, like law, will stray from morality. The inhumane laws controlling apartheid and slavery in South Africa, as well as the practice of sati in India, are instances of unethical laws and customs.

When making decisions, ethics is crucial since it allows one to distinguish between what is right and wrong. Ethics also encompasses a person’s personal moral codes or ideals, which are more personal than codes of ethics.

Importance of Ethics:

The individual, the consumer, the employee, or the human social unit of society are the primary beneficiaries of ethics. Furthermore, ethics is important for the following reasons:

Creating Credibility: An organization that is thought to be driven by moral values is respected in society, even by individuals who have no knowledge of how it operates or what it sells. For example, Infosys is regarded as a company that practices good corporate governance and participates in social responsibility projects. This impression is widespread, even among those who have no idea what the company does.

Uniting People and Leadership: Employees respect and admire organizations that are values-driven. They’re the connecting thread that connects employees and decision-makers. This goes a long way toward bringing the organization’s behaviors together in pursuit of a single common objective or aim.

Improving Decision Making: A man’s fate is the sum of all of his decisions made throughout his life. The same is true for businesses. Values drive decisions. An organization that does not respect competition, for example, will be ruthless in its operations in order to eliminate its competitors and achieve a monopoly in the market.

Long-Term Gains: Organizations that are led by ethics and principles are successful in the long run, even if they appear to be losing money in the near term. In the early 1990s, the Tata Group, one of India’s largest commercial conglomerates, was assumed to be on the verge of bankruptcy, but this proved to be inaccurate. The Tata NANO car, made by the same company, was expected to fail and perform poorly, yet it is already gaining appeal.

Securing the Society: When it comes to securing the society, ethics frequently outperforms the law. The legal system is frequently discovered to be a silent observer, unable to safeguard society and the environment. Technology, for example, advances at such a rapid rate that by the time legislation is enacted, a newer technology with new hazards has supplanted the older. Lawyers and public interest lawsuits may not be very helpful, but ethics can.

Conclusion:

The study of ethics helps students to comprehend human behavior and decision-making. The importance of moral standards in society is highlighted in this paper’s discussion on ethics. Everyone must be conscious of how their activities, whether direct or indirect, affect others. Personal and professional ethics are intertwined and reveal a person’s personality. In any event, our actions and decisions determine how society perceives us. We must consider how others perceive us, our choices, and our actions. Negative ethical decisions are more likely to be observed and judged than positive ethical decisions. Every time an ethical circumstance comes, each individual has a unique obligation to make the appropriate and moral decision.

LIFE A GUIDED PATH

LEARN YOUR LIFE BY YOUR WAY/JOURNEY

There is always a conflict between our heart and mind to explore or to cling on with the wise people’s saying before starting our track of life/career. In my opinion I require I both to be implemented in life as not everything can be known to everyone. But choose try your journey to write your novel and recite it to others. An unguided travel will always have various adventures and mysteries to be revealed, “Life is a journey explore your experience by unfolding mysteries”.

“Life is a stage where men and women are mere players

They come and play their part and leave the stage” – Words told by Shakespeare

So no one is permanent and don’t depend on others make yourself depended on you. As an infant you try to crawl then try to walk followed by jogging and finally running. Each and every step is taken by you is your effort to grasp things at every level and learn them after you mature every stage in life. Instead of getting guidance try to gain your guidance by making your way of what your mind says. You can do work your thinking tells you as it has never gone wrong. If you learn without training you will never forget your lesson that made you perfect out of the incidence. As you learn without training you improve your skills and your character to understand every aspect in life.

“Not everyone is perfect it is life shaping people in their own destiny”

Help yourself in understanding things without your rage or anger controlling you. You’re thinking and actions in life helps you decide who you are. Trespass your limits and create your path where there is a block. As you move forward you will face every aspect of life understanding factors like adjustments, emotions, sadness, sorrow. The more you explore, the deep you learn and face boldly to overcome your hinderances out of courage. Guidance helps you to travel safely but own path makes you to face the obstacle and how strong you are by heart. And it is an unavoidable fact that still 2 out of 4 children are handled and guided until their old days without they taking their own pavement. “Help children to find paths but don’t travel with their paths as the path will travel and teach them the value of them”.

Does Art Really Matter in Our Daily Lives?

Art is known to surround life, every individual in different locations, without us being aware of it fully.  Since time has been immemorial, art has existed as long as man has and has exited ever since. It is an integral part of our culture, which contributes in shaping our ideas, and vice versa, and it provides us with a deeper understanding of our emotions, increases our self-awareness, and more. To conclude that art is only confined to the artist or the painter, the dancer, the sculptor, the musician or the singer or other craftsman is to look at a needlessly rigid and a restricted view of life. Life itself is known to be art and though poets and artists may seem visionaries, they have a specific and distinct role to play in our being. Almost every individual has some form of art in their house—a hanging painting, framed photographs on walls, a decorative table center piece and even the main layout and design of a house is and can be considered as a form of art.  Art is not restricted purely for looking at it and admiring, a lot of it is functional too which we often don’t realize, especially when it comes to our living spaces and our daily lives.

Everything from a delightfully patterned cushion cover on the pillow or even a decorative plate and intricate designed teacups can be considered as a form of art.  Our brain is mostly conditioned to think that these type of items or things are not a form of art when it’s only for decoration. Another important element of form of art that adds value in our daily lives is Music, it is similar as art, and is considered to be a universal language and it holds importance in our daily lives which is indisputable. Subconsciously, when we hear music through various forms like on shows, commercials, radio and through other forms of media. Sounds, songs, instruments and music can make life extremely joyful and it can contribute heavily in lifting our spirits up and also till some extent improve our mental health and wellbeing. People think that technology and science are considered to be superior to art or any form of art.

Brain research shows the arts promote mental health

But art makes life worthwhile. It may not be as vital to fulfil our basic wants or necessities, but it does add value into our lives and brings colours in it as well. As we proceed our journey of a fast-paced life with quick decisions, moments, time and with many fragmented thoughts, art allows us to learn from every moment and to enjoy each moment and to make it memorable. Understanding our true emotions can help us heal from pain, grow and improve ourselves to become better humans. It helps in increasing our self-awareness and through that it can lead to more success professionally and personally. Through any form of art, we gain a better understanding of history, culture and tradition. It helps people in the present to build a better life for themselves.

Life skills : overcoming challenges of life

Throughout our lives, we have different experiences. Some good, others not so good. It is certain to go through a period of personal crisis or to face acute pressure at some point of time. Many people sail through tough times easily while many others have a hard time doing so.
It has been observed that the people who are good at overcoming life challenges have certain set of characteristics. These are called ‘life skills’. Life skills are basically the abilities that an individual possess which helps him/her to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of everyday life.

These abilities often depend on how well we are prepared to deal with everyday demands. There are various practices on the part of a person which can enhance his/her life skills and lead toward a better life.
The first and foremost is to get rid of unhelpful practices. Procrastination, for instance, is a habit of putting off what we can do today. In this process we actually create a ton of work for ourselves which acts as a stressor later on. Another unhelpful habit is Perfectionism. Here the person tries to be perfect and therefore cannot relax like others. These habits are a reason of daily hassles. Time management is also very important. Learning to mange your time helps to reduce the pressure on us. The way people spend their time determines the quality of their lives.

Another life skill is self care. When we are healthy and relaxed, we are both physically and mentally prepared to face challenges and succeed in doing so. A healthy and balanced diet gives more energy, improves immunity and circulation and can lift one’s mood. When we are stressed we tend to eat comfort foods which are high in fats and sugar. The key to healthy living is to eat three meals a day with well balanced diet. Exercising is also beneficial when it comes to health. Stretching exercises have a calming effect. Regular exercising not only helps in physical fitness but also have a positive effect on reducing stress, tension etc.

An important life skill is rational thinking. There is a saying that “our thoughts determine our reality”. It is very true indeed. Many stress related problems arise due to our distorted thinking. What we think is connected to what we feel, therefore it is very important to have a positive attitude and positive thinking. Optimism plays a key role in this. Optimists tend to believe that problems can be overcome successfully and perceive problem as challenge instead of a threat. This sort of thinking helps in driving away negative thoughts. Other positive habits are sense of responsibility, acceptance, tolerance, humour etc.
Lastly, having sound relationships is also a life skill. Having people you can turn to during your low time helps to bounce back faster. Emotional support given by friends or family members can help an individual during tough times. The key to sound relationships is communication. Conveying what you feel and accepting what others feel is the basis of sound relationships.
