According to WIKIPEDIA, “A library is a collection of materials, books or media that are easily accessible for use and not just for display purposes. It is responsible for housing updated information in order to meet the user’s needs on a daily basis. A Library provides physical (hard copies documents) or digital access (soft copies) materials, and may be a physical location or a virtual space, or both. A library’s collection can include printed materials and other physical resources in many formats such as DVDs, CDs and Cassette as well as access to information, music or other content held on bibliographic databases.”

IMPORTANCE OF LIBRARIES TO MAN

Libraries are said to be the storehouse of culture. If a man is to be known by the company he keeps, society is to be known by the number of good libraries it has. Man’s craving for knowledge is eternal. He wants to know more; he wants to enjoy more. But he cannot always move about for various reasons. He goes to a library and reads books of his choice. Libraries preserve books of various types, old and new. There are also periodicals and daily papers to meet the demands of the people. In all ages, libraries have been considered to be the best medium of public instructions.

The doors of library are exposed to everyone for rewarding the requirement for information. They are run by the government, schools, colleges, and universities. The society members of the neighbouring locality can visit these libraries to boost their information and complete their research.

TYPES OF LIBRARIES

There are different types of libraries, such as public libraries, circulating libraries, private or personal libraries. Of these, public libraries are most important. These are financed either by Government or by public institutions. All readers are allowed to read here. These libraries have two sections-lending and reference. Books are lent out to those who deposit money. Others are allowed to sit a id read books during the period, these are kept open. As libraries spread education, the Government of India have taken up a scheme to establish rural libraries for the benefit of rural people. They sanction annual grants to these libraries in cash or kind. In these libraries, books are stocked to suit the half-literate people of villages.

A FRIEND IN NEED

Government-managed libraries are well equipped and well manned. Only technical men are employed here to help the readers. Quite a large number of scholars, students and members of the public daily attend such libraries for reading and making notes. There are public libraries organised by public institutions. These libraries cater to the needs of a large number of people living in particular localities. Students of schools and colleges also utilise these libraries and derive benefit from them. But these libraries are in bad shape. Government grants to these libraries are not adequate. Public-spirited men now-a-days, are rare. Development of libraries is an important task of a welfare Government. Common people and students get opportunities to read in these libraries. In our country where the percentage of illiteracy is high, these libraries help in expanding the facilities for reading. Public libraries and rural libraries do a lot of good to the localities where they are established. Now the Government has established primary unit libraries, town libraries etc. The Government gives regular grants for the purchase of books and equipment. But still the grants are not adequate. However, they help the public libraries to satisfy the needs and aspirations of the local people.

Self-appreciation is an underrated thing about life. It is the best practice that one can include on daily bases and the best part about self-appreciation is that it comprises of all other positive elements like self-care, motivation, it gives hope and a lot more.
These days stress and mental pressure is very common, it starts from teenage and turns out to be lifelong. Life getting stressful people becoming short tempered and frustrated easily and they face lack of confidence, demotivated, unable to focus or feel like they are stuck. It may look like the same day is repeated every day, same work, same you. Every other person today is depressed and those who are not able to cope up soon feel like ending things right away. But this is not the right way of dealing with life, yes life is getting stressful, it looks more complicated each day and we might start avoiding things staying away from people, avoiding gathering and all. But this is not how people should deal with things. Instead, a little self-appreciation at the end of the day is a better approach.


Even the most prominent personalities from a saint to a CEO have told the people about self-appreciation in their talks. As they practice it too, so how things change with this? Self-appreciation can be practiced in different forms like you may come across a beautiful quote which relates to your current situation and those words can help you feel better, indirectly they might also suggest a solution on how to deal with the situation. This shows how powerful self-appreciation is similarly if an individual is stuck in a situation where he feels that he is not doing really well in life and people are much ahead, trying hard to reach a certain level and continuously keeping themselves engaged, in this race we often forget to spend time with ourselves and appreciate the small things. It is not possible to achieve all at once, not being at the same level because it is about timings you will reach there trust the timings and definitely yes one should keep trying but, killing yourself in this whole process is just not right. Thus, self-appreciation can help you to value yourself more over others and even in the darkest days you can set yourself up with the motive that yes, I am doing great! and no one is more important than me. Self-appreciation is not about getting self-centred in every way but, just a daily dose of healthy living. As all of us are aware of the magic appreciation has, so if we appreciate ourself we can enjoy our achievements to the fullest, the progress even if it’s slow and we can keep going facing bigger challenges of life.

Punctuality means doing a work at the proper time. To account an engagement at 10 o’ clock in the morning and to arrive at the place to keep it at 10-30 does not become a gentleman. It annoys the other party and it harms the future of the caller. No one who is unpunctual in attendance to work can be depended on or trusted in. On the other hand, a punctual man is one who knows the value of time. Such a man is a perfect gentleman and everybody has faith in his efficiency and character.

IT GIVES A MEANING TO YOUR LIFE

Punctuality is important in every sphere of life. it is rightly said that punctuality is the crown of a king. It is the most precious jewel to the character of a man. A student has to be punctual at school or college. The manager of a big firm or its common clerk has to be punctual in his office. Equally it is necessary for a factory worker, a politician, or a statesman. The greatest value of punctuality is that it is a great time-saver. An unpunctual man is always worried about time. A student who is unpunctual in his class lags behind others in his studies, he creates confusion both for himself and for others in the class. He is considered a disturbing element and is looked down upon by his teachers as well as his classmates.

Many Cases in Courts of Law have been lost, because one of the parties did not come in time; many a train has been missed and business lost to unpunctuality. So, unpunctuality leads to dangerous consequences. Relation of free people knows the value of punctuality. Indians are now a free people and they should cultivate punctuality in everywhere. Unpunctuality is a vice and out of it are born other vices like dishonesty, falsehood, idleness and shirking of one’s duty.

So, we observe how punctuality plays a foremost role in anyone’s life. being unpunctual is a curse, we cannot be as winner as others. Besides, this rhythmic world demands punctuality so that all of us can be successful in life.

The Imposter Syndrome

What is Imposter Syndrome?

Imposter syndrome basically refers to internal feelings of insecurity or inadequacy that make you believe you are not as competent as people perceive you to be. Basically, it is when we feel like we are frauds, and that anything we have achieved in our lives has been because of pure luck or chance. While in some cases such feelings may cause people to start working harder and meet their own standards of competency, most often they serve as a constant source of anxiety. You may start overworking yourself and spending countless hours trying to get better to make sure no one ‘finds out’ about you.

Especially people who are highly skilled or who have achieved a lot and become successful in a particular field may begin to garner feelings of insecurity and feel that other people are just as skilled, if not even more skilled than them. They start to feel as if they don’t deserve their achievements and success, and that someone more qualified should have got them. Even some of the great people in history like Albert Einstein suffered from this syndrome. He believed himself to be an ‘involuntary swindler’ who did not deserve the recognition his work got. This shows how pervasive and powerful imposter syndrome is, where even a man like Albert Einstein who we now revere as a great scientist that contributed so much to the world, thought of himself as mediocre and undeserving of recognition or praise. This also shows there is no threshold of achievement that puts feelings of inadequacy at rest.

However, it is important to highlight feelings of imposterism are not only felt by highly skilled individuals. Everyone is susceptible to a phenomenon known as ‘Pluralistic Ignorance’ where we each doubt ourselves privately, but think we are alone in thinking that way because no one openly voices their self-doubt. Imposter syndrome is not necessarily a disease or an abnormality, and neither is it always tied to any mental illness like depression or anxiety. Every single person is prone to imposter syndrome, regardless of their race, gender, occupation or mental/physical health. The base cause of this is that we know ourselves from the inside, but we know others only from the outside, so we do not realise that everyone is flawed in some way, not only us. We know all our own shortcomings and weaknesses, but all we know about others is what they tell us, which is far narrower and edited. So we make the mistake of concluding that we have a lot more flaws than others do.

How to deal with Imposter Syndrome?

Perhaps the easiest and most common way to deal with imposter syndrome is to simply talk about it more. We slowly learn that many people around us suffer from the same problem, and become comforted by the fact that we are not alone in such ways of thinking. Once we have this awareness of the syndrome, we can combat it by collecting and revisiting positive feedback and reassuring ourselves of our competence. It also helps us understand that it is simply a negative way of thinking and is not always true.

Apart from this, we must also look inwards and start dealing with it on an internal level as well. This includes things like separating fact from fiction, where we must recognize that even though we have these feelings, they are not objectively true and that we are unreasonably doubting ourselves. We must also stop comparing ourselves with others and try to focus on our own standards of success, not everyone else’s. This is especially important in today’s age of social media, which is the primary cause nowadays for imposter syndrome. We must learn that social media is not real life and that we shouldn’t compare ourselves to what we see on it.

Still, it may be hard to completely eradicate these feelings, but having open conversations about it and self-reflecting and introspection definitely helps us in keeping them controlled. It highlights to us how common these experiences are and that we should not burden ourselves with them. This process of humanizing the world makes us understand that everyone is like us, with their own flaws and problems, and that we all deserve success and fulfilment.

The word “Inspiration” rings out many bells in one’s mind. It suggests many feelings such as promise and self-confidence which further charges up the other emotions to move forward in whatever domain one want to. Inspiration is a highly effective dose to bring out all the hidden personalities and characters in one’s disposition, which helps him or her to comprehend the potential and attain the set goals.

IT IS OMNIPRESENT

All the renowned and celebrated people who have made a mark in their life have been inspired and motivated at some or the other point of their life. We can take examples of people in the field of Art, Music and Medicine’ or in the field of Technology. Even politicians and great saints cannot be ruled out. One can get inspired in countless ways, it can be verbal, written or may be through some of the work done or an example set by the person they kind of became role models. When you carry a deep feeling for a person, you start trusting and have a blind faith in his thinking and philosophy and just start following the tracks without even being sure of that.

WE ALL NEED A MENTOR

The person you are impressed with or whom you ae following becomes your counsellor and you have to consider him like your ‘leader’. Only then, benefits can be gained and dreams can be appreciated. If we turn the pages of history Arjuna got so inspired after Lord Krishna’s sermons and he realized that if he did not listen to Lord Krishna at that time, then he will not be able to fight and protect Dharma’, as by that time he was totally influenced.

A TRUE LEADER ENKINDLES OUR FAITH IN THE ACTION

There are many saints who have earned name and fame in people’ s heart by simply following their ‘expert’ for an inspiration in life. So, an inspiration coming from the right person helps us to internalize our goals and we attain our mission Sometimes when we are depressed and are literally down in the junkyards, at that time a Comforting sentence or a gentle hand on the head gives us much required and desirable confidence and assurance. Such motivation goes a long way.

SUPPORT INSPIRATION

Therefore, one can work hard only if there is moral support and inspiration. As the saying goes that there can be perspiration only if there is an inspiration.

JOURNEY TO SANITY – ACCEPTANCE

We thrive to learn skills in order to make ourselves useful. But the most useful skill of all is the art of learning to do nothing. In this fast-moving world where everyone is doing something and proving themselves, a large group of people who are probably doing their best might start doubting their abilities and start to compare their success from that of others. This might form a vicious circle of never-ending doubt and low self-confidence. Over time, it might get serious and even effect a person’s ability to work or look at things with a clear perspective.
However, self-acceptance and self-awareness is a tool that might help rebuilding the confidence and boosting positivity. Self-acceptance means accepting oneself completely irrespective of the flaws.

The question that arises here is that how will accepting a flaw change the situation and make us feel better?

To answer that, Acceptance is the first step to change. Acceptance does not mean that we have to live with it whether we like or not. Acceptance is the fact that we are aware of the flaw. We know the flaw and how it effects us. Acceptance means knowing and understanding the flaw. One cannot change anything without knowing the cause of the problem. Now, that we have accepted the problem and are at peace with it’s presence, we start to take small steps to change it into the way we like.

Let’s understand it in a simple way
You hurt your finger while chopping vegetables. So, the first thing you do is notice the wound and clean it and then, apply appropriate antiseptic medicine. You do not deny to look at the cut and let it be to heal itself on it’s own. Moreover, if we leave a wound open it might even get infected or worse. Similarly, a flaw or a problem in our life is like a open wound. We might choose to ignore it but that will never solve the problem, rather it would make it worse. Just like the wounded finger our own wounds need to be seen and heard. It requires acceptance and then only we can choose the correct medicine or the correct way to heal it.
It might be difficult to begin with as we have been conditioned to constantly find our flaws and compare ourselves with others who are better than us. But only self-awareness and acceptance can change that. One of the most promising way to do that is listening to positive affirmation before going to bed and after waking up. Repeated affirmations might help the subconscious brain to reprogram itself into believing new things and changing itself.

PRODUCTIVITY TIPS FOR PROCRASTINATORS

1. MAKE AN ATTRACTIVE TO-DO LIST

We often make a to-do list but the point we mostly miss out on is making it attractive and that’s the reason why to-do list fail. But, there is one way to make the list attractive and that is by making it more specific and actionable.

For example, instead of writing doing the workout, be more specific and write wearing workout clothes, which one is easy and attractive? Hope you got my point.

2. BREAK IT INTO SMALL PIECES.

The most common reason we procrastinate is we get overwhelmed by the size of the task and the time it will require to finish that task.

Thus try to break down your task into very small pieces that would be super easy for performing.

3. USE THE 10 MINUTE RULE

If the work is overwhelming or you can’t give a start and procrastinate, tell yourself that you are going to do it only for 10 minutes. Then once you get started you will be much more likely to keep going. This is a highly effective hack that helps break the pattern of stalling or dreading work.

4.REWARD YOURSELF

Rewarding yourself will always work best for you, what you have to do is just set a reward for accomplishing a task and if a task is completed get that reward, and if not don’t reward yourself.

Rewarding yourself will make it attractive to do and at the same time, you will feel satisfied for getting your favorite thing as a reward.
