Farewell to reel life MS Dhoni.

Another sad thing happened, the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput left his fans into shock. Born on January 21, 1986, hailing from Patna Bihar. He was a well-known dancer and actor, popularly known for his remarkable role as MS Dhoni. He died on June 14, 2020. The actor committed suicide, the reason is said to be depression.
Swapped to acting- He was pursuing his bachelor’s degree at Delhi Technological University, an idea of opting for a career in acting rose up when he enrolled for dance classes. As soon as his classmates were interested in attending drama classes, this enthusiasm of his fellow mates made Sushant to join drama classes. And that’s where he found his ambitions towards acting.”I found the experience liberating. I realized that I could communicate with the audience. I
knew I wanted to do this forever.” Soon after his joining, he became a part of Davar’s familiar dancers.
● In 2005 he was chosen as a background dancer at 51st Filmfare Awards.
● In 2006 he went to Australia with the same dancing group for the opening ceremony of CommonWealth games.
● Till then he was fed up with engineering and was happy and successful in drama and dance classes, so he dropped out of engineering and opted dancing and acting as his career.
● To give a lift to his dreams, he headed to Mumbai and joined Nadira Babbar’s Ekjute theatre. During this course of time, he starred in a TV advertisement for Nestle Munch.
● In 2008, he got an opportunity to audition and ended up being Preet Juneja in Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil.
● 2009 was a fortunate year for him, Rajput began starring in Pavitra Rishta. His work was extremely appreciated and won three major television awards for the best male actor and most popular actor.
● In 2010, Sushant was a part of dance reality show Zara Nachke Dikha 2 and another dance-based reality show, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 4. He was doing these shows while he was shooting for Pavitra Rishta.
● In 2011 he decided to quit Pavitra Rishta.
● In 2013 he auditioned for Abhishek Kapoor’s Kai Po Che! and was assigned as one of the lead actors. The movie was based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel The 3 Mistakes of My Life. The movie came out to be a great success. To his acting, Rajeev Masand wrote: “…it’s Sushant Singh Rajput, making his film debut as Ishaan, who it’s hard to take your eyes off. The actor has an indescribable presence and it’s clear from his confidence and distinct likeability that a star is born.”

Later he was filmed in Shudh Desi Romance(2013), then a significantly minor role in PK (which
was a highest-grossing film), Detective Byomkesh Bakshy(2015), M.S. Dhoni: The Untold
Story(2016) for which he was nominated for Filmfare awards for Best actor, Raabta(2017),
Kedarnath(2018), Sonchiriya(2019), Chhichhore(2019). He was working for Dil Bechara but due
to pandemic, it was halted.

Mumbai police at his residence.

On June 14 actor Sushant Singh was found dead. The reason came out to be a suicide. The reports also say he was suffering from depression from the last 6 months, though no suicide note is found yet. Also, Karan Johar blamed himself for not being in touch with the actor. His former manager Disha Salian also died on June 9, just 5 days before the demise of actor Sushant. In the movie Chichore, he portrayed a beautiful theme “Suicide as not an option to handle troublesome situations” but ended up dealing with the same.

Film Industry lost another magnificent actor!

His smiling face will be missed.

Depression

Depression is more than just sadness. It interferes with daily life and causes pain for you and everyone who cares about you. It’s a common illness, but a very serious one. Scientific research shows that depression affects certain centers in the brain that affect moods, thinking, sleep, appetite, and behavior. Although depression can and does affect people of all ages, from all walks of life, the risk of becoming depressed is increased by poverty, unemployment, life events such as the death of a loved one or a relationship break-up, physical illness and problems caused by alcohol and drug use. It often characterizes feelings of being sad, discouraged, hopeless, irritable, unmotivated, as well as a general lack of interest or pleasure in life. When these feelings last for a long period of time ( more than two weeks) and interfere with the regular daily activities, it is likely to be a depressive disorder which can affect people of any age, including children, teenagers, adults, and older people.

It may be difficult to tell if a child, adolescent, or teen is suffering from depression. Risk factors include being under stress, experiencing loss or having attention, learning, or conduct disorders. Severity of symptoms varies with individuals and also varies over time. They include depressed mood most of the day (feeling sad/empty and frequent crying) , diminished or lack of interest or pleasure in activities that were once enjoyed, change in appetite or weight (this includes a significant weight loss or weight gain), experiencing insomnia -having difficulty sleeping; alternatively oversleeping, lack of self esteem or feelings of worthlessness, fatigue or loss of energy, feeling hopeless and helpless, having guilty feelings , difficulty thinking , concentrating, remembering information, or making decisions, recurrent thoughts of death or suicide , persistent physical symptoms, such as headaches, digestive disorders, and chronic pain that do not respond to routine treatment and anxiety, with or without a specific feeling of being depressed.

Depression is most likely due to a combination of genetic, biological, environmental, and psychological factors. MRI s have shown that the parts of the brain involved in mood, thinking, sleep, appetite, and behavior of people who have depression function differently than those of people without it. Some types of depression tend to run in families. Trauma, loss of a loved one, a difficult relationship, or any stressful situation may trigger a depressive episode. The illness can also occur in people without any family history.

Depression is a treatable illness. Medications, psychotherapy and self help measures can help a depressed person feel better, engage in meaningful activities, and improve their quality of life. Also depression can be highly responsive to treatment. Early diagnosis and intervention with appropriate treatment are always critical steps to feeling better, especially for children and teens. The other methods include relaxation techniques, meditation, and breathing exercises, regular exercising as it can reduce symptoms of depression, The family environment is important to the recovery of people who are depressed as they help an individual suffering from depression by talking to them about their feelings and providing support and encouragement. Love all, Speak up, express, share and take care of your mental health.

Maintaining Mental Health

Your mental health influences how you think, feel, and behave in daily life. It also affects your ability to cope with stress, overcome challenges, build relationships, and recover from life’s setbacks and hardships.

Strong mental health isn’t just the absence of mental health problems. Being mentally or emotionally healthy is much more than being free of depression, anxiety, or other psychological issues. Rather than the absence of mental illness, mental health refers to the presence of positive characteristics.

People who are mentally healthy have

  • A sense of contentment
  • A zest for living and the ability to laugh and have fun.
  • The ability to deal with stress and bounce back from adversity.
  • A sense of meaning and purpose, in both their activities and their relationships.
  • The flexibility to learn new skills and adapt to change.
  • A balance between work and play, rest and activity, etc.
  • The ability to build and maintain fulfilling relationships.
  • Self-confidence and high self-esteem.

The relationship between resilience and mental health

Having solid mental health doesn’t mean that you never go through bad times or experience emotional problems. We all go through disappointments, loss, and change. And while these are normal parts of life, they can still cause sadness, anxiety, and stress. But just as physically healthy people are better able to bounce back from illness or injury, people with strong mental health are better able to bounce back from adversity, trauma, and stress. This ability is called resilience.

People who are emotionally and mentally resilient have the tools for coping with difficult situations and maintaining a positive outlook. They remain focused, flexible, and productive, in bad times as well as good. Their resilience also makes them less afraid of new experiences or an uncertain future. Even when they don’t immediately know how a problem will get resolved, they are hopeful that a solution will eventually be found.

Make social connection a priority—especially face-to-face

No matter how much time you devote to improving your mental and emotional health, you will still need the company of others to feel and function at your best. Humans are social creatures with emotional needs for relationships and positive connections to others. We’re not meant to survive, let alone thrive, in isolation. Our social brains crave companionship—even when experience has made us shy and distrustful of others.

Why is face-to-face connection so important?

Phone calls and social networks have their place, but nothing can beat the stress-busting, mood-boosting power of quality face-to-face time with other people.

The key is to interact with someone who is a “good listener”—someone you can regularly talk to in person, who will listen to you without their own conceptions of how you should think or feel. A good listener will listen to the feelings behind your words, and won’t interrupt, judge, or criticize you.

Reaching out is not a sign of weakness and it won’t make you a burden to others. Most people are flattered if you trust them enough to confide in them. If you don’t feel that you have anyone to turn to, there are good ways to build new friendship and improve your support network. In the meantime, there is still a great benefit to interacting face-to-face with acquaintances or people you encounter during the day, such as neighbors, people in the checkout line or on the bus, or the person serving you your morning coffee. Make eye contact and exchange a smile, a friendly greeting, or small talk

Learn how to keep your stress levels in check

Stress takes a heavy toll on mental and emotional health, so it’s important to keep it under control. While not all stressors can be avoided, stress management strategies can help you brings things back into balance.

Talk to a friendly face. Face-to-face social interaction with someone who cares about you is the most effective way to calm your nervous system and relieve stress. Interacting with another person can quickly put the brakes on damaging stress responses like “fight-or-flight.” It also releases stress-busting hormones, so you’ll feel better even if you’re unable to alter the stressful situation itself.

Make leisure time a priority. Partake in your favorite activities for no reason other than that they make you feel good. Go to a funny movie, take a walk on the beach, listen to music, read a good book, or talk to a friend. Doing things just because they are fun is no indulgence. Play is an emotional and mental health necessity.

Make time for contemplation and appreciation. Think about the things you’re grateful for. Mediate, pray, enjoy the sunset, or simply take a moment to pay attention to what is good, positive, and beautiful as you go about your day.

Don’t skimp on sleep—it matters more than you think

If you lead a busy life, cutting back on sleep may seem like a smart move. But when it comes to your mental health, getting enough sleep is a necessity, not a luxury. Skipping even a few hours here and there can take a toll on your mood, energy, mental sharpness, and ability to handle stress. And over the long-term, chronic sleep loss can wreak havoc on your health and outlook.

While adults should aim for seven to nine hours of quality sleep each night, it’s often unrealistic to expect sleep to come the moment you lay down and close your eyes. Your brain needs time to unwind at the end of the day. That means taking a break from the stimulation of screens—TV, phone, tablet, computer—in the two hours before bedtime, putting aside work, and postponing arguments, worrying, or brainstorming until the next day.

Find purpose and meaning in life

Everyone derives meaning and purpose in different ways that involve benefitting others, as well as yourself. You may think of it as a way to feel needed, feel good about yourself, a purpose that drives you on, or simply a reason to get out of bed in the morning. In biological terms, finding meaning and purpose is essential to brain health as it can help generate new cells and create new neural pathways in the brain. It can also strengthen your immune system, alleviate pain, relieve stress, and keep you motivated to pursue the other steps to improve mental and emotional health. However you derive meaning and purpose in life, it’s important to do it every day.

When to seek professional help

If you’ve made consistent efforts to improve your mental and emotional health and still aren’t functioning optimally at home, work, or in your relationships, it may be time to seek professional help. Following these self-help steps will still benefit you, though. In fact, input from a caring professional can often help motivate us to take better care of ourselves.

Each and every life matters . It is very much important to know there is always more to life than some problems.

Child Labour

Child labour refers to any work or activity that deprives children of their childhood. In effect, these are activities that are detrimental to the physical and mental health of children and that hinder their proper development.

Child labour includes: Child labour before the minimum legal age : The basic minimum legal age at which children are authorized to work is 15 years (14 in developing countries). For light work (only a few hours from time to time) the limit is fixed at 13 to 15 years (12-14 in developing countries). Finally, for hazardous work, the limit is pushed up to 18 years (16 years under certain conditions in developing countries).

The worst forms of child labour :This encompasses all forms of slavery or similar practices such as forced labour, trafficking, debt bondage, serfdom. It also includes illicit activities and/or activities likely to endanger the safety, health, and morals of children, such as prostitution, pornography, forced or compulsory recruitment for armed conflict, drug trafficking, etc.

Hazardous work : This encompasses domestic tasks carried out over long hours in an unhealthy environment, in dangerous places requiring the use of dangerous tools or materials, or forcing the child to carry objects that are too heavy.

Certain activities are not considered labour or exploitation. Activities which simply involve helping parents to complete everyday family chores, to which children can dedicate a few hours a week and which permit them to earn some pocket money, are not considered child exploitation because they do not hinder their well being.

Negative effects of child labour:

The difficulty of tasks and harsh working conditions create a number of problems such as premature ageing, malnutrition, depression, drug dependency etc.

From disadvantaged backgrounds, minority groups, or abducted from their families, these children have no protection. Their employers do whatever necessary to make them completely invisible and are thus able to exercise an absolute control over them. These children work in degrading conditions, undermining all the principles and fundamental rights based in human nature.

Additionally, a child who works will not be able to have a normal education and will be doomed to become an illiterate adult, having no possibility to grow in his or her professional and social life.

In certain cases, child labour also endangers a child’s dignity and morals, especially when sexual exploitation is involved, such as prostitution and child pornography.

Furthermore, a child who works will be more exposed to malnutrition. These children are often victims of physical, mental, and sexual violence.

Overview of child labour in the world

Child exploitation exists on all continents and takes various forms according to the traditions and cultures of the region.

• In South East Asia and in Pacific, girls are sold to supply prostitution networks or to work as domestic workers. Many children are also sold to work in textile factories as well as to cover family debts.

• In Africa, parents sell their children, often for livestock (generally, the child will be sold for a cow). These children are exploited in plantations, mines, or will become domestic workers.

• In North America and in Latin America, children are victims of prostitution to satisfy the perverse appetite of tourists, and are exploited more and more by drug traffickers.”

Why does anyone commit suicide? How humane is it?

A simple answer is depression that leads to lose of hope!

What is depression?

Depression is a mindset of a person who is usually unhappy and has lost all the hope of an optimistic future for himself.

What causes depression and suicidal thoughts?

Though circumstances are blamed for this fatal decision by the victims, you may be surprised to find that people who were in worse situation than the suicide victims to have overcome the hurdle.

Here comes a silent killer, GENETICS

Scientists have found that depression are partly influenced by the genetics of the individual. Thus, it is more likely that people from same family of the victim to commit suicide.

How humane is suicide?

Unfortunately suicide practice is completely humane but definitely not a proud thing. According to TUUL SEPP, an animal ecologist, suicidal behaviour is unique to humans and it can be both genetic and environmental influenced. Most animals in our planet have one goal in their life, which is to survive. To survive they need three things which are food, water and shelter. Humans despite having all them sometimes fail to survive by deciding to kill himself.  There are many things that set us apart from animals like cognitive thinking,  being innovative and unfortunately suicide. The mental evolution of humans that made us do extraordinary things can lead us do mean things like suicide! This suicidal characteristic of human also arises the question is human ranking in the animals, as humanity fail to meet the basic goal of any animal, which is to survive.

So this brings a perspective that suicide is a threat to humanity that has to be addressed immediately.

The Stress/ Depression Factor

Most people feel sad or depressed at times. It’s a normal reaction to loss or life’s struggles.

But when intense sadness — including feeling helpless, hopeless, and worthless — lasts for many days to weeks and keeps you from living your life, it may be something more than sadness.

There are wounds that never show on the body that are deeper and more hurtful than anything that bleeds.

  1. Depression is a common but serious mood disorder. Symptoms of a depressive episode can include: loss of interest in things you used to enjoy, change in weight, difficulty sleeping or oversleeping, energy loss, feelings of worthlessness, and thoughts of death or suicide.
  2. Personal or family history of depression, major life changes, trauma, stress, and certain medications can contribute to a higher risk of developing depression.
  3. Anxiety and depression disorders are closely related. Nearly 50% of those diagnosed with depression are also diagnosed with an anxiety disorder.
  4. Depression is the leading cause of disability in the whole world among people between the ages of 15 and 44.
  5. Women are twice as likely as men to be diagnosed with depression.
  6. There is no “one-size-fits-all” for treating depression, but common treatments include: antidepressant medications, traditional forms of psychotherapy, or electroconvulsive therapy (ECT).
  7. In 2017, an estimated 264 million people in the world experienced depression.
  8. Depression comes in different forms, such as persistent depressive disorder (also called dysthymia), postpartum depression, psychotic depression, seasonal affective disorder, and major depression.
  9. Depression is a major contributor to the overall global burden of disease.

Symptoms:-1. A depressed mood during most of the day, especially in the morning. 2.You feel tried or have a lack of energy almost every day. 3.You feel worthless or guilty almost every day. 4.You have a hard time focusing, remembering details, and making decisions. 5.You can’t sleep or you sleep too much almost every day.6.You have almost no interest or pleasure in many activities nearly every day. 7.You think often about death or suicide (not just a fear of death). 8.You feel restless or slowed down. 9.You’ve lost or gained weight.10.Feel irritable and restless 11.Lose pleasure in life 12. Overeat or stop feeling hungry 13.Have aches or pains, headaches, camps, or digestive problems that don’t go away or get better with treatment. 14.Have sad, anxious, or “empty” feelings

Are There Different Types of Depression?

There are a few types of depressive disorders that doctors can diagnose, including:

  • Unipolar major depression
  • Persistent depressive disorder, also called dysthymia, when depression lasts for at least 2 years
  • Disruptive mood dysregulation disorder, when children and teens get extremely irritable, angry, and often have intense outbursts that are more severe than a child’s typical reaction
  • Premenstrual dysphoria disorder, when a woman has severe mood problems before her period, more intense than typical premenstrual syndrome (PMS)
  • Substance-induced mood disorder (SIMD), when symptoms happen while you’re taking a drug or drinking alcohol or after you stop
  • Depressive disorder due to another medical condition

If you know someone who’s Depressed, please resolve never to ask them why. Depression isn’t a straightforward response to a bad situation; depression just is, like the weather.

Try to understand the blackness, lethargy, hopelessness, and loneliness they’re going through. Be there for them when they come through the other side. It’s hard to be a friend to someone who’s depressed, but it is one of the kindest, noblest, and best things you will ever do.

Stephen Fry. I support this thought of Stephen Fry. Please help those people who are in depression in your surrounding. Try to understand their situations and support them to overcome these circumstances.

He last used the Twitter on December 2019 which also confirms the news of his depression from last six months.Suicide by sushant singh rajput is a grave reminder to us that you never know what a person is going through. To everyone out there who’s hurting in silence, you may not want to exist right now, but someone is happy that you do.
You are worthy.Never give up.No death note. Preliminary investigation is not yet complete. We don’t really know what has happened, let his soul rest in peace. We have to know the truth. 6 days ago, his ex-manager committed suicide. Police hasn’t ruled out anything yet.One middle class small town guy came to mumbai touched sky against all odds , inspired millions middle class but now you suddenly left , we can’t understand what pain you were going through but we will always miss you.

Did he knew what we know now. He had a list of 50 dreams which meant that he had to fulfill his dreams before he could commit suicide?

The depression we feel, the happiness we enjoy, the moments we live are temporary. Remember everything is a feeling and it doesn’t last long. You can trust anybody except yourself. Don’t become the fool who try to fool the fool within you. The love we get is the love we give. You can expect someone to treat you the same way you did to them but you can’t expect it from the life.

Life is unpredictable and can act unfair to anyone because it has a feeling that feeling is just a feeling and act cruelly. If life turns you upside down then don’t try to escape from it. You rather try to look the life in the way it expects you to look. Then life will change its way to again change you so that your life again comes to normal.

Anonymous: Since resurface

To say that this year has had its ups and downs would be a major understatement. With the series of major events happening on a daily basis, one could almost imagine God sitting up there playing “Apocalypse bingo”. However, jokes aside this pandemic has brought most of the countries of the world to its knees. Leaders across the globe are working frantically to contain the spread of the virus.

However it isn’t all so black and white, as some like Donald Trump are still neck deep in scandals as he very often is. He has often shown sympathy with white supremacists and condoned the acts of high-profile criminals with a similar mindset as him. He has been accused but due to a lack of concrete proof, hasn’t seen justice. This could certainly change soon as he has been forced to take shelter within the president’s bunker, which many speculate is due to the rise in protests of the death of George Floyd who was killed by the Minneapolis police department. This rise in protests could be in part due to the support of an online hacktivist group called Anonymous, who came out of their hiatus of three years. Anonymous started as a hacking prank group from 4chan sites, who did small tome pranks. However over time they slowly shifted towards anti-censorship, and anti-surveillance hacktivism. They have taken part in many wars against giant corporations which while short lived have provided ample evidence of their small-scale cyber guerrilla warfare. Due to them not having a formal leader or head, infighting within the organisation erupts. It is due to this reason that they were unable to hack into Amazon during their “Operation Payback” (in which they had hacked into PayPal.com) .They not only condemned the wrongful killing of Floyd, but also declared an online war against the Minneapolis police due to their repeated systemic racial abuse. They followed through their promise by simultaneously bringing down police servers all across the state. They not only targeted the police but also went after Trump promising to expose his dirty secrets, which they did by leaking not only his ties with Jeffery Epstein, but rather outright naming his a co conspirator in his child trafficking and pornography ring and have called on him for raping, sexual misconduct and numerous other horrendous charges as seen in these transcripts https://www.scribd.com/doc/316341058/Donald-Trump-Jeffrey-Epstein-Rape-Lawsuit-and-Affidavits. They have also named Bill Gates, Bill Clinton and a number of other prominent names to have been a part of Epstein’s illegal activities. As if this wasn’t enough, they have also made allegations on the royal family for staging princess Diana’s death as an accident due to her collecting evidence on the royal family for human trafficking and sexual misconducts, fuelling an already widespread conspiracy theory to new heights. Due to their nature of low-grade DDoS attacks, many social security experts term them as minor threats, however they may change their tune should this gain traction. The twitter account for the anonymous group has already amassed over 6 million subscribers. What the hacktivist group does next is anyone’s guess, however one thing is certain they do not show any signs of stopping soon.

What happens next is for all of us to see.

Child Abuse – A Heart Wrenching Reality

After reading an article with heading a five month old baby girl was allegedly raped by a relative in Uttar Pradesh capital Lucknow in February 2020 I was once again devastated. Although we all have become immune to such cases as we have accepted them as the new normal but still something strikes us maybe 0.01% of humanity that is still left in us.

There is a famous Indian saying that “Bacche Bhagwaan ka roop hote hain”. But the question here arises is that, Is this what we do with god ? Is that the way we have ever dreamt of treating them like ? The answer will be a clear NO. But we are treating the children of our country like that.

Child Abuse which includes trafficking and child sexual abuse still remains the sad reality of Indian Society. It has become a serious and widespread problem prevailing in India as it is in many parts of the world.

The World Health Organisation defines child sexual abuse as the involvement of a child in sexual activity that he or she does not fully comprehend is unable to give informed consent to or for which the child is not developmentally prepared and cannot give consent or that violates the laws or social taboos of society.

Child Sexual Abuse in India
India is the second most populous country in the world. It is the home to more than 400 Million Children. They constitute more than 40% of population. Signing up to the United Nation Convention on the rights of child in 1992, India promised to protect its children from all forms of sexual exploitation.

Increased concerns about child exploitation cases resulted in the first large government sponsored research study to assess the magnitude of child abuse in India. The survey revealed that more than 53% of Indian Children are subjected to sexual assault. Majority of the cases were committed by someone known to the child and majority of the cases go unreported because of the fear of society or because of the undesirable condition of the family.

According to recently released NCRB data 39827 Cases were reported in 2018, under POCSO Act, out of which 21,605 were rape cases which included 21,401 rapes of girls and 204 of boys. According to NCRB calculations aa many as 109 children were sexually abused everyday in India in 2018.
The reports clearly show that how pathetic the condition of children is in our society. Especially girls, they are more prone to sexual abuses, although boys were also subjected to sexual abuse and social stigma.

The children who go through sexual assault, their mental and physical state is severely affected. The trauma attached with child abuse result in various disorders in children which includes emotional as well as bodily disorders, which some of them are never able to overcome and when a child abuse case goes unreported and child is not given any special help then he or she is forced to suffer in silence which creates multiple complex problems in children.

Increased attention in the activism around child protection led to the government of India passing the POCSO Act in 2012, Criminal Law Amendment Act 2013 and Juvenile Justice Act 2015.

As many developing countries, India is also facing problems like poverty, illiteracy, overcrowding , large population density, lack of recreational facilities, large scale unemployment, corruption, child labour, child trafficking etc which are the main reason behind the occurrence of child abuse cases in India.

There are several challenges ahead as well so a child focused culture has to be established. The legal system should interpret the laws in a child friendly way. Legal system cannot alone fight the battle against child abuse and bring justice to the child but we together as a society can definitely overcome this problem and no doubt the most promising measure is mass awareness of such possible abuse and how to deal with it.

‘Unlocking’ Muscles and Mind in Such Crisis Times

In the Unlockdown 1.0 some designated places have started to open. These places include business establishments and both government and private offices. People have to be on road and start work after three months of home confinement. Our body got enough rest and we now lack stamina to work all day, especially outside home. We have to bring back the old stamina and adjust it with the ‘new normal’. For long the daily rush for attending work was gone. ‘Work from home’ has made the body lazy and the lifestyle has affected both our mental and physical health. We were becoming habituated to sleeping, waking up, eating and sitting to work. It has become a daily routine. We did not even have a chance to go for walk in nearby parks. The body is still missing the adrenaline rush inside. So with the unlockdown small steps are to be taken in a systematic manner to re-adjust our body and mind. Some such steps:

  • Set Your Clock

The body clock has turned upside down during the lockdown. People have changed the timings of everything— from sleeping to waking up to having meals. We have to set your bio-clock again in the same routine as the pre-lockdown days. Everyday we have to practice waking up early morning, have proper breakfast or brunch in time to get set for work at the appropriate time. One has to sleep for six to seven hours at night to have a healthy system in the body.

  • Participate in Virtual Marathons

There are many organizations in India and in other parts of the world, which are arranging ‘virtual runs’, providing attractive items like masks, tee-shirts, medals and e-certificates. Various running apps like Adidas Running, Nike Run Club, Pumatrac are utilised for this purpose. There are different categories and kilometres to complete in a day or in a month. We may participate in the runs and make our body fit. The entry to these events is pocket-friendly and they also provide much motivation to make a comeback on the running track.

  • Have food at Proper Time

We have to start eating healthy at regular hours to maintain balance of energy levels. The body will feel good and it can come back to its old rhythm to work properly. There is need to have a reasonable gap between the meals and snacks without skipping any.

  • Keep Doing Exercises

The body needs some exercises to keep up with work. Otherwise it will become slack and will be overwhelmed with fatigue. After a hard working day our full body will be under strain, if not in pain. Thus if we want to avoid this situation we have to start doing exercise at different levels regularly. We must wake up early and do some basic exercises by watching YouTube or using running apps. Your body will be perfectly fit before your work from home ends.

  • Drink Lots Of Water

People sweat a lot when humidity dominates the weather in our country. The body needs hydration because dehydration leads us to exhaustion. There is only one effective solution to this problem— water. The body needs adequate amount of water to keep itself away from dehydrating. We should drink at least three litres of water everyday to keep the body healthy. Three litres of water can include tender coconut water, iced tea, jaljeera mix, fresh fruit juice or lemon water.

So it is high time to get set and go. The unlockdown has given us a chance to knockdown lethargy caused by the pandemic-led confinement. Stay healthy! Stay Safe!

Career in Gaming

Games have always been a huge part of development for everyone as a child. From playing with soft toys to physically running to now technology, we all have played some sort of games in our lives. Some of these games that we play in our childhood can be later transitioned into traditional outdoor sports like cricket, football, badminton, tennis etc and various indoor sports like carrom, pool, chess etc which are all played professionally. These sports have also given careers and fame to various athletes and players all around the world.

With the advancement of technology, recently a lot of attention and recognition is given to players who play digital games on computer systems, playstations or even mobile phones. These types of games when played at a professional level are known as esports i.e. electronic sports. Esports players who play certain games at a competitive level are known as esports athletes. And just like in other sports, esports allow players to create a career in gaming, gain recognition and fame through their skills on a device and at times even allow them to represent the country on a global level.

Some commonly played esports games are fortnite, pubg, dota, paladins, rocket league, pubg mobile, clash of clans etc. Some commonly known esports athletes who have gained recognition and respect all over the world are Ninja for fortnite, Shroud for player unknown battlegrounds, Stewie2k for counter strike global offensive, Scout and Mortal for pubg mobile etc.

Unlike traditional sports, in order to start to even practice these electronic games, a person needs a fair amount of investment which usually goes into the main device which can be a computer or a mobile, an internet connection etc.

Getting into esports is a dream for any gamer that exists. To be signed up by a team and play on a competitive level is a big deal as there is too much competition. Also, there is no specific age limit in these esports, it is purely based on skill. U can be a 12 year old or a 55 year old, if u have the skill, you can be signed up to a esports team and pursue a successful career ahead as a professional gamer. Attaining a skill of that of a esport athlete is no joke, some players have invested more than thousands of hours into a video game in order to reach that level of skill.

Thus pursuing a career as an esports athlete is a very uncertain and risky task. But the good news is if someone wants to pursue their career as a gamer, esports isn’t the only option. One can become an entertainer via youtube or streaming, gain an audience and make a good amount of money through it. Some entertainers around the world like pewdiepie, Markiplier, Jack Septic Eye,  Ninja, Shroud etc have made millions and millions of dollars by uploading their content online but the chances of that happening are very slim as well.

So, if someone wants to pursue their career as a gamer or an online entertainer, they should start it as a hobby with passion and not expect anything particular out of it. Enjoy it and have fun.

The Need of Mental Peace

“If you are depressed you are living in the past, if you are anxious you are living in the future and if you are at peace, you are living in the present.” ~Lao Tzu

“One hundred fortunes have born all together with the birth of the body of the mortal (man) (upon which he has right by birth) of those we cast away those which leads us to sinful acts. O god, the knower of entire creation please let us have those fortunes which will prove blessings to us. ” ~ Atharva Ved, shloka: 7-115-3

The unfortunate death of the rising star of Bollywood- Sushant Singh Rajput – has made us realise the importance of mental happiness and peace, shifting our attention towards depression, that makes one hollow from inside, shattering the internal peace, too. The reports explain that the actor was suffering from depression from the last 6 months, that led to the ending of his life by committing suicide. Driven by the ironical fact that in his last movie Chhichhore, he actually urged people not to commit suicide in any case, but who knew that this ‘filmy dialogue’ won’t be applied by him in his practical life? In regards to this shocking event, I would like to mention some facts regarding depression and the need of mental peace at this hour.

Depression has become a very common term these days; meanwhile it is something which has gained a part in our day to day lifestyle. Numerous people are suffering from depression, stress or anxiety. However, depression is nothing but a state of mind, wherein an individual faces a prolonged phase of unhappiness, displaying mental and physical changes. This includes of –

  • occuring of sleeplessness
  • having stress problems
  • feeling lonely
  • keeping oneself isolated
  • getting irritated
  • having mood fluctuations
  • generating feelings of worthlessness or guilt
  • blaming oneself for any sort of failure and much more.

Depression is an ongoing problem, that doesn’t pass from one to another. So it’s not hereditary. Futhermore, it can last for several weeks, months, or years.

However, the major causes of depression are – failure, loss of job, loss of close one, any shocking incident that dismantled the person from inside, struggling life, committing sins etc.

Further, depression is treatable and this involves-

Support: This includes discussing practical solutions for overcoming the depressed situation.

Psychotherapy: Also known as talking therapy, this includes counseling and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT).

Medications: A doctor may prescribe some medicines for treatment.

Yes! You heard it right! A lot of times an unexpected stranger can help you to reduce your stress and help you to curb your depression. But, it’s suggested not to ignore the symptoms in anyway; you are rather caging yourself instead of flying high. So do not ignore the symptoms and try to reduce your anxious thoughts by speaking up about them to somebody you trust. This will eventually lessen your mental burden, lifting up your mood positively for sure.

In fact these days, it has been proven that reading Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta can reduce your heightening anxiety as well as depression. The confused Arjuna is anxious and fears to use his weapons against his own kinsmen. Now at this perplexed situation Shri Krishna occurs and as a therapist (as you can say), asks Arjuna to fight against the wrong, leaving out all this attachments. Specifically, it’s not only about a family feud amongst kinsmen but it’s also about conquering the inner conflicts and acquiring mental peace by relinquishing attachments or greeds, hence.

A special message for all those who think themselves as a burden.

In this fast pace of life, I guess we have forgot to enjoy ourselves; forgot to live our life freely. And in order to gain this back, we have to set free ourselves from the cages of complexities. I hope you all lead a happier and peaceful life with reduced level of complexities, anxieties and hindrances. I wish for the betterment of your lives and none of you go through the phase of depression.

Reality of college life of engineering students

What people think of college life of engineering student ? Those who have not experienced this, thinks it to be the way it is shown in movies. But do movies show the real image?
It is shown that college life is full of fun, enjoyment, not to worry about study, passing without working hard and even getting a job is very easy by sitting on campus placement. But this is not completely true.
It’s true that college life is full of enjoyment, we get to learn a lot there, we grow there, we understand the reality of this world, the difference between real and fake people, we make friends who becomes our family for 4 years.

Taking about most of the students other than toppers which are rarely two or three in a class who studies whole time, First two years of college are quite easy to pass, we don’t have much part to study although it’s not like that we don’t have to study at all, we even donot try much to learn new skills, we have assignments which we do one day prior to last day of submission. Students mostly attends the class only for attendence because they do self study only. When we have viva we don’t know anything and just goes and sit in front of teacher and he insults us for 20 minutes and we came out of the practical room laughing and telling others that we didn’t knew anything. We stay awake whole night before the exam to complete our syllabus, and at last skipping one of the chapter.

However if once somebody gets a backlog then most probably they continue to get backlog in further years too until or unless they studies properly.

On reaching to the third and fourth year, a students becomes serious about their career, they starts preparing to get jobs, starts studying for job exams, they learn skills which will benefit them to get a job. They don’t waste much of their time in wandering in the college and city. However taking about the college exams, assignment, vivas, they do it the same way as they so it before. And those who studies sincerely after third year, gets good results.

College life is part of our life on which our career, our whole life depends. So, we should work hard along with enjoying it because it’s not gonna come again.
