Welcoming September 2020

As the restrictions are being lifted in order to aid the degrading economy it needs to be kept in mind that the cases in India are achieving new heights.

Here are some disturbing facts before you think that this month was going to be easy on you.

1) Bill Gates is supremely confident that a new wave of cases will be seen in October – November. This might take a nasty turn as the increased rates could be blamed on protestors and these relaxations

2) China and India are prepared for a war. Both the nations have gathered their arms and ammunitions along with planning their strategies that might come in use anytime soon.

3) The increase in the incidence of earthquakes in the himalayan fault line (5.1 in Manipur recently) indicates there could be big one soon.

4) The economy is moving towards recession and will not recover any soon. This is one of the reasons of the gradual unlock happening.

5) There are possibilities of cyclones in both Eastern and Western front in the cyclone season October.

6) Food shortages most probably will happen sooner than later considering the unusual weather that has led to increase pest attacks. Those migrants who returned home due to covid outbreak thinking to take up farming have lost everything and are burdened with loans.

7) The hospital, tourism, transport industries suffer the most due to lack of mobility of people under such conditions.

8) Small businesses are being whiped out and corporate houses purchasing various businesses.

9) Crime rates are bound to increase along with suicide rates due to unemployment. 45% increase in suicide rates has already been noted.

10) Both center and state are faced with huge shortage of funds with centre refusing to pay GST compensation to states. This might lead to increased taxes.

The list goes on and on. Good days seem like a distant dream.

Assassination of John F Kennedy

If not us, Who?……If not now, When?

John F Kennedy,USA

John Fitzgerald Kennedy (May 29, 1917 – November 22, 1963), often referred to by his initials JFK and Jack, was an American politician who served as the 35th president of the United States from January 1961 until his assassination in November 1963. Kennedy served at the height of the Cold War, and the majority of his work as president concerned relations with the Soviet Union and Cuba. A Democrat, Kennedy represented Massachusetts in the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate prior to becoming president.

John Fitzgerald Kennedy was born outside Boston in Brookline, Massachusetts, on May 29, 1917, at 83 Beals Street, to Joseph P. Kennedy Sr., a businessman and politician, and Rose Kennedy (née Fitzgerald), a philanthropist and socialite. His paternal grandfather, P. J. Kennedy, served as a Massachusetts state legislator. Kennedy’s maternal grandfather and namesake, John F. “Honey Fitz” Fitzgerald, served as a U.S. Congressman and was elected to two terms as Mayor of Boston. All four of his grandparents were children of Irish immigrants. Kennedy had an elder brother, Joseph Jr., and seven younger siblings: Rosemary, Kathleen (“Kick”), Eunice, Patricia, Robert (“Bobby”), Jean, and Edward (“Ted”).

He has won many prestigious awards. In addition to the various campaign medals received for his war service, Kennedy was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Medal for his conduct during and after the loss of PT-109, as well as the Purple Heart for being wounded.

Just before the assassination,Kennedy chose to travel to Texas to smooth over frictions in the Democratic Party between liberals Ralph Yarborough and Don Yarborough (no relation) and conservative Texas governor John Connally.Kennedy later decided to embark on the trip with three basic goals in mind:

1.) to help raise more Democratic Party presidential campaign fund contributions;

 2.) begin his quest for reelection in November 1964 ;

3.) to help mend political fences among several leading Texas Democratic party members who appeared to be fighting politically amongst themselves since the Kennedy-Johnson ticket had barely won Texas in 1960 (and had even lost in Dallas).

The trip was publicly announced in September 1963, the exact motorcade route was finalized on November 18 and publicly announced a few days before November 22.Kennedy’s open-top 1961 Lincoln Continental four-door convertible limousine entered Dealey Plaza at 12:30 p.m. CST. Nellie Connally, the First Lady of Texas, turned to Kennedy, who was sitting behind her, and commented, “Mr. President, you can’t say Dallas doesn’t love you”. Kennedy’s reply – “No, you certainly can’t” – were his last words..From Houston Street, the limousine made the planned left turn onto Elm to provide access to the Stemmons Freeway exit.As it turned, it passed by the Texas School Book Depository, and as it continued down Elm Street shots were fired. About 80% of the witnesses recalled hearing three shots.

A small number of witnesses recognized the first gunshot (shortly after Kennedy began waving) for what it was, but there was little reaction from most in the crowd or riding in the motorcade. Many later said they imagined what they heard to be a firecracker, or a vehicle backfiring. Although some close witnesses recalled seeing the limousine slow down, nearly stop, or completely stop.

The assassination had an effect on many people, not only in the United States but around the world. Many vividly remember where they were when they first learned the news that Kennedy was assassinated, as with the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941.

Ultimately, the death of President Kennedy, and the ensuing confusion surrounding the facts of his assassination, are of political and historical importance insofar as they marked a turning point and decline in the faith of the American people in the political establishment.

Tea Tree Oil: a magical formula

When it comes to beauty products, essential oils are a hype these days. From skin care products to medicine, essential oils have proved their far-ranging properties. They have been used for centuries not just to heal ailments but also to stimulate and alter emotions.
Essential oils are derived from plants, and capture the plant’s flavor, or “essence.”

Michelle Gagnon, founder of Bio Alchemy Olfactive and MKG Bio Alchemy and a bio alchemist by profession says: “Essential oils affect our physical, emotional, and spiritual
wellbeing, and take effect via topical application and inhalation. Long term use of essential oils — in small quantities — can have a great impact on our overall health and
state of wellbeing.”

And here, we are going to have an insight into the miraculous properties of essential oil,
tea tree oil.

Tea tree oil also called Melaleuca oil, is extracted from the leaves Melaleuca Alternifolia
plant, and commonly known as tea tree. This tree is native to the northern coast of South Wales, Australia, and was brought to popularity by the Australian aborigines. For the world, it might be a newly discovered magical formula, but Australians have been using it as a resource for countless years. It possesses the anti-bacterial, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties which help in many daily problems including acne and fungal infections.

Having a bottle of tea tree oil means you have a powerhouse of soothing. Tea tree oil can elevate the body’s natural healing process. And it’s not just the people using it, but also the experts talking about the tea tree oil benefits for hair and skin.

Dr. Sunil Kumar Prabhu, Senior Consultant, Dermatology and Aesthetic Physician, Aster RV Hospital, explains, “Tea tree oil has been traditionally used and can be
beneficial to manage dandruff because of its antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. It is used quite often found in personal care products because it can purify and cleanse the skin, and unclog the pores”.

Tea tree oil can be your go-to product for all kinds of skin problems like acne and blemishes, but it benefits hair fullness as well. Even a small amount of diluted tee tree oil when applied to your hair shaft can promote hair fullness. It unclogs hair follicles, nourishes the roots, and helps the hair reach its full potential.
But, flowing locks might not be your only concern, dandruff can be embarrassing too.

Before we talk about treating dandruff with tea tree oil, let’s see what dandruff is: it is just an accumulation of dry and scaly skin on your scalp. According to a study published in the Journal of American Academy of Dermatology, using a shampoo containing only 5 percent of tea tree oil appears to be effective for the improvement in dandruff. It also
helps in controlling itchiness and greasiness on the scalp.

When asked about the tea tree oil benefits for hair, Dr. Jenelle Kim, a Chinese medicine expert and founder of JBK Wellness Labs in San Diego says, “It is a strong, natural ingredient that is great for sensitive skin and scalp. The scalp is very sensitive and is vulnerable to skin imbalances, itchiness, and dandruff—which are usually caused by minor fungal infections.”

Tea tree oil deserves a spot in your beauty routine. With its luscious benefits, it can revolutionize everything about your skin and hair.

Wind Energy

Energy indisputably a resource on which humanity has been dependent. Without energy, we cannot find or administer medicine to cure disease, prepare food, purify water, drive our cars etc. the current energy need is 15TW and this number is projected to increase.in now a days we are more reliable on fossil fuel. Fossil fuels are also a large source pollution and also a non-renewable source of energy. As solar energy is a renewable source of energy so we are likely to shift our energy consumption from the non-renewable forms to the renewable forms.

Wind power or wind energy is wind energy, which is used to provide mechanical power by wind turbines to produce electricity and to do other jobs, such as milling or pumping. Wind energy is clean, renewable and has far less environmental impacts than fossil fuel use.

Wind farms consist of several individual wind turbines linked to the power supply grid. Onshore wind is a reliable power source, comparable with or much cheaper than coal or gas plants. Onshore wind turbines will have an effect on the environment, as usually they may spread over more land than other power plants and be installed in wild and remote areas that could result in ‘rural industrialisation’ and loss of habitat. Offshore winds are more steady and strong than on land and offshore farms, but building and repair costs are higher.

The wind is an intermittent source of energy that neither produces nor ships electricity on demand. It also offers a variable power that varies widely year after year, but over shorter periods. It must also be used in combination with other sources of energy or storage to provide secure supplies. With the share of wind power in a region increasing, more traditional energy sources (such as fossil fuels and nuclear power) are required to help them, and the network will need to be upgraded. Such energy management strategies may also solve problems, such as a dispatching energy, an adequate hydro-electric energy, surplus capacity, geographically dispersed turbines, export and import power to neighbouring areas, electricity storage or a reduction in demand when wind turbines are low. The weather forecast allows for predictable output fluctuations in the electricity network.

In recent years, the capacity to produce wind energy has increased significantly in India. As of 29 February 2020, the wind turbines had an installed wind energy capacity of 37.669 GW and it was the fourth highest installed wind power capacity in the world.

In India, the cost of wind power is rapidly declining. During December 2017 auctions on wind projects, the uniform tariff on wind turbines reached a record low of 2,43 kWh (3,4 US), per kWh (without any direct or indirect grants). In December 2017, the Union government announced the relevant Tariff Wind Power Auction Guidelines in order to provide the developers with clarification and to reduce the risk.

MIDNIGHT SUN – The Movie Review

Cast :

Be it ‘ Me Before You’ ‘The Fault In Our Stars’ or ‘Five Feet Apart’ all these good old sad romantics follow the same basic storyline. But I guess maybe because I’ve watched this genre after quite long so I just went away with the flow & am finally reviewing this movie now.

Portraying Katie Price this story is set all around her life. She has this rare genomic condition called Xeroderma pigmentosum (XP.) So this meant even the slightest bit of sunrays hitting her skin could make it fatal for her to live. Thus making her homebound since childhood & take homeschooling & other online courses rather than actually attending schools like other normal children of her age. In fact, she was also called a ‘vampire’ back in her childhood by her school friends. This is when she finds her BFF Morgan, who’s always by her side. Sharing their every soul-to-soul talks with each other.

Over time she got used to all this, as she’s the kind who accepts fate with open arms & a smile on her face however dire the situation be. This optimistic & carefree attitude is what I absolutely loved about her. With time passing by she had learned how to play the guitar & sing songs. So one such night, at her graduation her father Jack gifted Katie her mother’s guitar. At this, this couldn’t contain her excitement & headed out to the station to play it.

This is where she meets Charlie, her only crush she has admired all her life. This couldn’t be a dream right? She was actually face to face with the guy today. Charlie used to be a part of her schedule as she used to spend hours gazing at him through her window & stalking on social media. Confused & utterly shy, she leaves the place in haste. This is when mesmerized Charlie finds a diary she left behind, that she forgot in a hurry.

Finally, this results in their second meet, as Morgan & Charlie together setup this little prank on her. This time she finally holds herself together & has some normal conversation with him. This further leads them to more & more hangouts.

Of course, with time both of them grow to like each other more & more. The interesting part is their dates used to be at night, due to obvious reasons. But all this long, Katie didn’t confront Charlie. She used to bring out some lame excuse to not deal with the details about it. As she believed, confronting that will make her life more like a ‘disease’ than a ‘normal human.’

One fine night, when they were casually hanging a serious incident happened. This led Charlie to actually learn the truth thus beans were spilled. Being this concerned & serious boyfriend that he was, he made a research on the disease to collect every speck of information he could. Katie now had started shoving him off because she couldn’t see him in pain.

This is when Dr Fleming paid her dad a visit. Understanding the severity of the situation, & helplessly fish out ways & means for the unavailable cure Jack breaks up into sobs. The doctor informs him of how her brain had now begun disintegrating & the research studies had stopped due to no funding. As Jack breaks apart saying “Was it for all these days for him to learn, a dad raising his daughter all these years, will one fine day die. Albeit knowing very well there’s no cure to this. It’s heartbreaking to lose your child & finally coming in the face with reality.”

One fine day, a certain situation or a string of those, caused her dad to realize the growing affection between the two. So, he finally made the two meet. At this point I thought, Charlie could have easily lost his mind. But the way he still holds his sanity in place after meeting her knowing she concealed the truth is a matter of applause.

In the end, she finally lives her heart out with Charlie. Spending the most beautiful last summer of her life. This made me realize somehow, that there’s a sacrifice in life every time you want something bad. Just when she was compromising with her living all this long, she had her life in return. And vice versa.

Sadly, this followed to her tragic demise, leaving her dad all alone. Her boyfriend was now set out to begin his new school in Brooklyn, for he had got his scholarship there. But what touched my heart the most was how both of them fulfilled each other’s incomplete dreams & wishes all this while. Unlike most of these rugged dramas these days, their dates simply meant fulfilling each other’s dreams & wishes and living life up to the most.

Even after she left, she had made sure to fulfill his dreams. The best part was when her song got viral. This song was called the “Charlie’s song” by Katie Price. Charlie just like any other night had taken Katie, to realize another of her dream & made her sing at a studio to record. And it suddenly went viral after her demise, which throws a …. of joy to Charlie & Jack.

All the songs in the movie are exceptionally phenomenal imbibed with deep meanings. So if you are the one who likes these tear-jerker movies, it’s sure to send chills to down your spine. Also, don’t forget to bring your tissues along.

Tips for Interview

Going to an interview always gives us jitters, we are constantly worried about our looks, dressing and face and how we are going to perform.

With these following tips, you can ease any interview.

  • Be Yourself

This is one of the most important aspect. You should always focus on being yourself and never try to imitate someone or pick up a new accent. It is always what is natural that matters and not what is artificially created. Interviewers can easily detect if a person is behaving quite out of their way, after all they have years of experience. So always be your natural self than putting up an act just to be liked by others. Try getting into places where they accept you as who you are.

  • Dress Neatly and Professionally

Dressing up properly always matters. People always judge you sometimes on your appearances. How you dress up and present yourself shows a side of your personality as well. Being neat and tidy is an important part of any job and it all starts with the way you present yourself. Wear properly ironed clothes and always keep your hair neatly in place.

Looking in the eyes always let the judges know that you are a confident person. People always search for confident and smart personalities. Keep that in mind always

When you are asked a question, don’t try to answer that moment. Take some time of your own to think about a proper and logic answer. Its always better than blurting out the wrong details. Answering diplomatically in all situations makes a person more reliable in troubled situations.

  • First Impression

When you are called down to walk to the chair for the interview, make sure to flaunt your confidence and charisma. First impressions always stay deep in peoples mind and for an interview it is quite important because you might not get a chance again. Walk confidently with your head high in the air. Make sure to greet them and ask permission to sit down.

Mysterious number seven

There are seven rounds in Indian marriage ,There are seven days in a week ,There are seven colors in a rainbow ,There are seven continents and there were seven wonders of the ancient world, there are seven deadly sin ,Some researchers have found that human memory works best when remembering up to — but not more than — seven items There is also a powerful connection between the number seven and the religions of the world. It is believed that god made the world in six days and rested on the seventh day. Scholars have found that the number seven often represents perfection or completeness in the Bible .Seven is also the number of the Sun, Moon, and five classically known planets .seven notes on a musical scale, seven seas ,Snow White ran off to live with seven dwarves…

If we talk about mathematics, number seven has special quality there also as it’s an odd number. Even numbers can be easily divided by two, so odd numbers seem more unique to some people.

Seven is also a prime number, which means it can only be divided by itself and one. Since it’s the largest prime number between one and 10, some people see it as more interesting for that reason .The number seven is the fourth prime number as also a Mersenne prime, the first Woodall prime, the fourth factorial prime, the second lucky and the second safe prime.

Seven is the only number below 15 that cannot be represented as a sum of the squares of three integers.

According to researchers Seven has the highest probability of occurring as an addition when rolling dice .It’s the second lucky prime and the first happy number in mathematics.

Seven not only represents the jackpot on slot machines, but it s also the basis for many myths and folklore. For example, various parts of the world had beliefs about the seventh son of a seventh son, legends that endowed him with magical powers of both the good and evil variety (e.g., the child was believed to have healing powers according to Irish folklore).

according to research the mathematician Alex Bellos asked 44,000 people to name their favorite number and over 4,000 of them named the number 7, far more than any other number. Indeed, ask people to name a number from one to ten and many will name the number seven — as many magicians know.

Personally seven is my favourite number too…

Covid-19 Pandemic Impact on the Mental Health of People

As the coronnavirus pandemic rapidly sweeps across the world ,it is inducing the considerable degree of fear, stress, worry, depression and concern in the people of the society .According to the survey, sixty-one per cent Indians are experiencing mental health-related issues because of the uncertainty and looming financial crisis during the lockdown.

In public mental health terms, the main psychological impact to date is elevated rates of stress or anxiety. But as new measures and impacts are introduced – especially quarantine and its effects on many people’s usual activities, routines or livelihoods – levels of loneliness, depression, harmful alcohol and drug use, and self-harm or suicidal behaviour are also expected to rise.

Therefore the present survey was intended to assess the mental health impact of the current lockdown on the population of New Delhi, India, a week after its imposition to assist the government agencies and healthcare professionals in safeguarding the mental health wellbeing of the community.Financial hardships are often experienced by individuals during quarantine. Lockdown majorly affected the work and income of 63.4 % of the population that was positively related to people aged 35–50 years, followed by 50–65 years, impacting their financial status. Even though 49.7 % of the study population claimed to have sufficient funds to manage the lockdown situation, remaining were either uncertain about it or did not have the resources to sustain it. Monetary loss is a stress during and post isolation because people are unable to work and professional activities are interrupted unprecedentedly; the effects appear to be long lasting. Financial loss due to quarantine created severe socio-economic distress and was established to be a contributing factor for symptoms of mental health disorders, anger and anxiety .

Few studies have explored this aspect of the lockdown in the Indian context, and most of the existing research fails to be inclusive in scope. The current study is meant to unravel the links between social factors like sexual orientation, type of family relationship, and residence in areas that have a high infection rate, and adverse mental health outcomes. The investigators also examined the processes that determine how and when sleeping and eating habits are intertwined with anxiety and depressive symptoms. Individual resilience and coping strategies were also explored. Finally, they looked into the possibility of empathic changes in the way people view the world, which could be a valuable mental resource helping to increase overall wellbeing and quality of life.

We are from middle class

The middle class is a class of people in the middle of a social hierarchy. Its usage has often been vague whether defined in terms of occupation, income, education or social status. The definition by any author is often chosen for political connotations. Writers on the left favor the lower-status “working class”. Modern social theorists—and especially economists—have defined and re-defined the term “middle class” in order to serve their particular social or political ends.
The common measures of what constitutes middle class vary significantly among cultures. On the one hand, the term can be viewed primarily in terms of socioeconomic status. One of the narrowest definitions limits it to those in the middle fifth of the nation’s income ladder. A wider characterization includes everyone but the poorest 20% and the wealthiest 20%. Some theories like “Paradox of Interest”, use decile groups and wealth distribution data to determine the size and wealth share of the middle class.

One word which we all listen to in everyday life but we are so used to it that we don’t even pay attention to is the word WE. The typical middle class family since ages has lived together. All the so called chachas, tayas, buas, mamas have all lived together. Till a few years ago nobody knew the meaning of personal space in a house. You were always surrounded by your nephews, nieces, all the bhaiyas, didis asking you personal questions, following you wherever you went. Even the concept of marriage in an Indian setting has always been that of union of two families rather than two individuals coming together. Earlier TV viewing was more of an activity which the whole family used to do together, wait for the serials like buniyaad, chitrahaar to start, wait for that Friday movie when only one of the families in the village used to have the television and that person’s house would turn into a cinema theatre with the whole of village flooding that house; but nowadays that concept is changing. TV viewing has become more of an individual centric activity wherein hundreds of channels are there to cater to every individual’s choice. The whole concept of joint-ness is fast dissolving.

Economic reform has provided the Indian middle class the most needed the liberation in terms of living life to the most. There has been a constant shift in the cultural sign and symbols adapted through ages. Disappearance of girl’s pig tail, freedom of mobility through scooterette, providing the elders their own space of living, telecommunication evolution, explosion in the passenger car segment , changing clothing pattern are few of the visible patterns in society. Girl’s pony tail were a symbol of desired feminine reserved nature which has seen a change both in length and its handling. The shortening of hair gives a girl a sense of personal control displayed metaphorically. The scooty revolution has helped the female to expand her boundaries without being dependent on any family member providing her a sense of independence. Even the car owned has seen a shift towards adapting more compact cars. The recent shift from petrol to electric and LPG based cars not only signifies the change in attitude towards efficiency but also the urge to keep up technologically. Dhoni has been one the true middle class iconic figures which has altered the way Indian see a small town boy. The ‘can do’ attitude along with the lack of fear of failure and unmindfulness of hierarchy has been the reason behind success of Dhoni. Any Indian middle class can draw inspiration from him in the way towards dealing with pressure and performing without fear of failure. The increase in disposable income has led to the change in attitude towards life, attitude towards savings. The Indian middle class is not afraid to take risks in life to get a bigger return. He is in constant search of avenues of making money. An age where money has its own language, and the person in possession of money is in possession of power. It has become the source of energy which drives the entire economy, of which Indian middle class has played the most important role.

The essence of middle class can be truly experienced while travelling across country via any means be it train, bus, jugaad or be it airplane. Out of all these means Train definitely displays the middle class in true sense. Indian Railways carries millions of Indians mostly middle class people through length and breadth of this huge nation on a daily basis. A typical middle class passenger takes a train journey not just as travel but as ritual. He is worried about the co-passenger’s destination more than his own. The train coupe forms a perfect blend of many cultures and their practices. It is clearly visible during the meal time.

All i have to say that we are from middle class family and are not ashamed of it rather i am proud of it.Middle class family is that family which stands together to face all the difficulties and share there emotions at the same time.Decisions were taken unitedly.and the consequences of the difficulties also faced by the family unitedly.I have only these words that really inspires me:—-

My background is that I came from a middle class family, and I think those values stay where ever you go.

Space Opera: A Virtual World

Science fiction is for real, space opera is for fun – Brian W. Aldiss

SPACE OPERA is a subtype of science fiction which is colourful, dramatic, large-scale and full of scientific adventures, which usually focuses on unreal imagination that has a heroic central character and plot action. It is usually set in the relatively distant future, in space or on other planets. It often involves war, piracy, military virtues, and a very large scale action. In space opera, characters are displayed with powerful energy weapons and other advanced technology. There is a difference between Science Fiction and Space Opera. Science Fiction is generic literature which involves a generalization of scientific, engineering or social theories in futuristic ways in terms of settings, science and technology, space and time travel, parallel universe etc. whereas space opera is simply convectional drama in a futuristic or otherwise science-fiction-like setting. Some popular space opera includes THE MASSIVE FRANCHISE, STAR WARS and other films such as BATTLESTAR GALACTICA and BATTLEFIELD EARTH. Space Opera is a story in which science fiction elements are not critical to the plot and could be replaced by planetary equivalents. It usually emphasizes the effect of progress and inventions where the settings are carefully worked out to obey the laws of Physics, Cosmology, Mathematics, Astronomy and Biology. The thrilling experience of space opera with full of space adventures is stupendous for every sci-fi lover. The most famous representatives of space opera are:

E.E. “Doc” Smith

Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson

Isaac Asimov

C.J. Cherryh

Orson Scott Card

Dan Simmons

Kevin J. Anderson

Michael F. Flynn

Ann Leckie etc.

Current conventions of space opera:

“there is no general agreement as to what [space opera] is, which writers are the best examples, or even which works are space opera”

what used to be science fantasy is now a space opera is entirely forgotten.”

-Hartwell and Kramer

The conventions of space opera have changed quite dramatically over time, and its audience has expanded enormously, peaking with video media like Star Trek and Star Wars.

Apart from the only imagination, we might be surprised that we are also living in a space opera World that does exist without realising it. The best example of it could be none other than the concept of ‘Aliens’, ‘UFOs’ and other supernatural powers that we are not aware of. It’s been for years since we’ve been hearing about UFOs entering our planet, about Aliens and moreover, scientists have also been talking much about the existence of Aliens as well! We have been talking about it all without realizing that all of this has become a part of our universe now. Variety of games about spaceships, aliens have been made until now, which in a way shows us how we are living in a space opera universe. Some news has been flashed out on TV screens about caught of Alien, bizarre creatures, unseen paranormal signs from different places of the World that are sufficient to explain our living in a real space opera World.

COVID-19 Pandemic Led to Delays in Care for Nearly Half of Breast Cancer Survivors

Breast Cancer is nowadays rapidly increasing in the urban Indian women. The early weeks of the COVID-19 pandemic caused 44% of breast cancer survivors to have a delay in care, according to an online survey.Because COVID-19 is so contagious, and to save healthcare resources for people diagnosed with COVID-19, many hospitals and other healthcare facilities delayed or cancelled elective procedures beginning in March 2020. Elective procedures included anything that didn’t need to be done to save someone’s life. Breast cancer screening was considered an elective procedure, so many mammograms were delayed or cancelled. Some breast cancer surgeries and other treatments also were delayed, changed, or cancelled.

The researchers from the University of Illinois Chicago who did this study wanted to see how changes in healthcare due to the pandemic affected people who had been treated for breast cancer. The researchers wrote a 50-question online survey to figure out how the COVID-19 pandemic had affected breast cancer care. The researchers invited adults who had been diagnosed with breast cancer to complete the survey by sending invitations via email, posting on social media, and sending invitations to breast cancer support networks. The coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic has had a profound impact on cancer care across the globe. Early data indicate increased risk of COVID-19 morbidity and mortality for cancer survivors.

Delays in a routine or follow-up doctor appointment were the most common, followed by delays in breast reconstruction surgery and diagnostic imaging or testing.About 30% of the respondents said they had a delay in treatment, including radiation, infusions, and surgery to remove the cancer.

As time has passed, doctors have seen how protective procedures, such as wearing a face mask, washing your hands, maintaining physical distancing, and avoiding gathering with people in a group, have helped slow the spread of the virus. So most facilities are once again offering all aspects of breast cancer care, including screening.

During the pandemic, the weekly average number of people diagnosed with these six cancers dropped by 46.4%. Specifically, breast cancer diagnoses dropped by 51.8% — from 2,208 to 1,064.

“Our results indicate a significant decline in newly identified patients with 6 common types of cancer, mirroring findings from other countries,” the researchers wrote. “The Netherlands Cancer Registry has seen as much as a 40% decline in weekly cancer incidence, and the United Kingdom has experienced a 75% decline in referrals for suspected cancer since COVID-19 restrictions were implemented.

“While residents have taken to social distancing, cancer does not pause,” they continued. “The delay in diagnosis will likely lead to presentation at more advanced stages and poorer clinical outcomes. One study suggests a potential increase of 33,890 excessive cancer deaths in the United States.”

Depression

Priya Yadav,
Depression is a common and serious medical illness that puts negative effects on your thinking, functioning, and ability to feel. Fortunately, the treatment of this depression is available in the world nowadays. There are many direct and indirect reasons for this depression, such as physical illness or physical abuse, financial tightness, job loss, inferiority complex, or social honor due to any reason. Similarly, college students too can easily become a victim of depression. Difference between sadness and depression
It is important to know the difference between sadness and depression. We are all sad and almost daily but then soon become normal, but if the sadness continues for a long time (at least two weeks) and its impact on our daily life then this becomes depression. Actually, it is a disorder associated with neuro, which occurs when there is a change in the part of the brain that controls the mood. Anyone can come in the grip of this. It is believed that 1 in 5 adults is a victim of depression once in life. By the way, not only children are also victims of depression, especially due to quarrels among parents, poor school results, or friendship with a particular friend. In such a situation, the role of the parents is that if they see the child for a week, then they should definitely take it to the psychologist.

NEET, JEE: Supreme Court rejects review petition to postpone the exams

Supreme Court on Friday refused to entertain the review petition filed by ministers of six opposition-ruled states who were seeking review of the court’s August 17 order to conduct NEET-UG and JEE EXAMINATIONS.

Six ministers from Maharashtra, Punjab, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh had had moved to the apex court saying that if the order was not reviewed, “grave and irreparable harm and injury would befall on the student community”.

The petitioners in the case were Moloy Ghatak (minister from West Bengal), Rameshwar Oraon (Jharkhand), Raghu Sharma (Rajasthan), Amarjeet Bhagat (Chhattisgarh), Balbir Singh Sidhu (Punjab), and Uday Ravindra Samant (Maharashtra). In its review plea, stated, “not only will health, welfare and safety of students/candidates appearing for the NEET/JEE examinations stand imperilled but also the public health at large would be in severe jeopardy…”

The ministers in the plea had claimed that the top court order failed to secure students’ “right to life” and ignored “teething logistical difficulties” to be faced in conducting the exams during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The state ministers on August 28 moved SC and demanded that the examinations be postponed by at least six to eight weeks keeping in mind the surge in coronavirus cases and health concerns of students. It alleged that the government’s decision to go ahead with examinations despite the 3.3 million covid cases with over 60,000 deaths, “reveals non application of mind, and is unreasonable, arbitrary and capricious exercise of power”.

The bench of Justices Ashok Bhushan, B R Gavai and Krishna Murari, which considered the pleas in-chamber, also rejected the applications seeking listing of the review petition in the open court. “Applications seeking permission to file review petitions are allowed. We have carefully gone through the review petitions and the connected papers. We find no merit in the review petitions and the same are accordingly dismissed,” the bench said in its order.

The JEE-Main will be held from 1 to 6 September, while NEET exams for admission to undergraduate courses in medical colleges is scheduled for 13 September. JEE Advanced for the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) is scheduled for later in September.

JEE-Mains have already begun across the country from September 1, with guidelines for maintaining social distance minimising contact.

PTI reported that on the third day of the JEE-Mains, 82.14 percent of the registered candidates appeared for the examination, as against 54.67 percent on the first day.

Retargeting versus Remarketing: The Subtle Distinctions

Introduction

Many of us, while scrolling through the labyrinth of the Internet, have come across an advertisement about some product that we had checked out recently. Many assume it to be a coincidence, but is it really so? The online marketing strategists say otherwise. This is, what in common knowledge, known as retargeting, (or remarketing).

Retargeting vs Remarketing

Retargeting (or remarketing) is a very feasible way of advertisement in present times. In this form of online advertisement, the people who already have had some sort of previous interaction with the concerned brand or website are the part of the ‘target audience’. Hence the ‘re’ prefix in the term. The companies prefer this tactic for the better calculation and planning data it provides.

Both retargeting and remarketing serve a very similar purpose, and hence, used interchangeably, but there are differences in their core principles, in terms of:

1. Audience

Retargeting mainly looks over the target audience, which includes anyone who has visited the website or any related product page, including for random surfing, price comparison etc.People see ads of the website or product they visited; the agenda behind this is to remind the audience of their interest in that particular product or service.

On the other hand, remarketing is for a more specific audience, also known as the custom audience. They are those people who have already shown their interest in some products by adding the item(s) in their cart, or have purchased something previously from the website. This audience is more likely to avail the services the host has to offer, and so, the companies approach them with different, yet more persuasive tactics.

2.Means of Marketing

Retargeting uses the cookies on the websites pages to assemble a list of potential customers. The audience is reminded about the website via static(pop up ads) or dynamic(ad videos) means.

Remarketing takes this a step forward and is mainly characterized by generating Emails regarding discounts, offers on the carted items, making it seem like a good deal to the customers. Buyers also have some ground level experience to rely on and hence, are more susceptible to indulge in the given offers.

Modes of Payment

ROI (Revenue on Investment) in an essential factor to consider while advertising. To make a net profit, the income must be more than the investment. One of the major investment on a product is on its marketing. And retargeting has very economic way of payments. Some of them are:

CPM (Cost Per Mille): It is the most common form of pricing, and is calculated on the basis of every thousand impressions served

CPC (Cost Per Click): In this tactic, cost is charged to the investing company on the basis of per ad clicked on.

CPA (Cost Per Acquisition): Here, the advertisers are charged on the achievement of the pre decided acquisition action.

In case of remarketing, advertisers adjust their campaigns on the basis of who does or does not opens the email. This is also termed as email retargeting. The purpose of this system is to weed out the uninterested people, and in turn increasing the number of potential buyers.

Advantages of Online Marketing

  • It is easier and subtle to pitch ads for audience consideration.
  • Unnecessary costs can be reduced
  • The extent of advertisement is vast
  • Peer advertisement is a explorable option
  • Customer and potential customer database is easy to avail

With all the above considerations, it is often advised that remarketing and retargeting, as a whole should be used in tandem with each other to achieve optimum results. And other marketing tactics can also be implemented accordingly.
