Why we should stop judging others

You do you. This is true, do not let the world tell you otherwise. Though all of us know how correct is this, often we find people who do not understand this. Those are the ones belittling you, judging you, and shaming you for your thoughts, preferences, way of life, and everything else too! Would you feel good if someone mocked you, talked about, or made negative opinions about you? The answer is pretty much a no. So if you as a person would be hurt if someone judged you, why would you want someone else to go through that pain? If you are someone who respects others for who they are and accepts them without any judgement, kudos to you. And for the others, it is never too late to be kind. You can start from today, in fact from now, and here are reasons why I think we all should stop judging others.

  1. Judging others spreads negativity – We all know that positivity and kindness are the need of the hour. This means that we should stop doing things that are not bringing positivity to the environment. When you judge someone, that always brings down the other person, they even start associating negativity with you. That would never do any good to you, and the negativity might creep into you as well. It is difficult to stay happy and optimistic if you keep judging others. It like, always finding flaws in things, in situations, and with people. Try to find good in others, maybe appreciate how they smile, and how great it is to meet them. This would automatically infuse all the good vibes in and around your environment.
  2. Judgement means a no to acceptability – Humans are diverse and very different from each other. From cultures to way of living, to life preferences and demands, everyone has their own choices. All of us want to be accepted in our own skin, isn’t it? Changing because someone else likes you better, is something that we all should say no to. Everyone has the right to be who they are and do what they want to do. All of this is negated when we start to judge others. A lot of people cannot stand the judgement and feel ashamed and embarrassed. This forces them to change in the way society wanted them to be, even when they did not want to. We should stop judging others to encourage acceptability and make people feel comfortable in their own skin.
  3. You drive away happiness and contentment from your life – It is often said, judging someone does not define who they are, it defines who you are. There can be innumerable reasons why you are judging others, but a lot of times it is borne out of your own dissatisfactions and unhappiness. It sometimes might become difficult for you to see others happy when you are sad and discontent, and putting someone else down might provide a momentary satisfaction. But remember that it just makes you fall into a deeper pit of negative emotions, unhappiness, and guilt. You need to start being optimistic, accepting, and content with what comes your way. This will help you accept others as they are and spread positivity all around. Let us strive for a world wherein we all respect each other’s feelings, emotions, and thoughts so that our’s are accepted too and where all we diverse humans can live as one.

World Rainforest Day 2021 : History and it’s Theme

World Rainforest day is celebrated on June 22 every year. The name itself suggested the aim of the celebration. The day is to celebrate the existence of the rain forest and to create awareness or raise awareness among the people to preserve this type of natural resources. This day is celebrated on June 22 every year by millions of people round the world. It maintains the climatic balance and global warming.

History of World Rainforest Day

The first World Rainforest Day was observed on June 22 ,2017 which was introduced through the efforts and collaborations made by a groups called the Rainforest Partnership. The main aim of this initiative is to protect world’s Rainforests and to maintain ecosystem.

Theme of the World Rainforest Day 2021

The theme of this day has been finalized as “Protected together. Now. Forever”. On this special day people across the globe work together to preserve rainforests.

Significance of World Rainforest Day

This day is to promote methods or to preserve rainforests by many people across the globe. Due to this pandemic, no events were held in person but people are asking and willing to take part in the virtual events to highlight the importance of this day.

Two types of Rainforest:

There are two types of rain forests: tropical and temperate. Tropical forests are situated nearer to the equator where the land is hot whereas temperate forests are closer to the north or south pole where the land is cooler compared to tropical forests.

Rain forests gives us fresh water and it absorbs more carbondioxide and other harmful gases and emits oxygen which maintains the climatic balance. In these forests , we could find more valuable trees but all these trees are cutting down by people for money. There were more than 1 billion hectare from the tropical forests have been compressed due to deforestration.

Amazon rainforest alone provides 20% of oxygen and the pure water we drink. Daily there are 40 soccer lands are destroyed by the people. If this continues, 15% of carbondioxide emissions leads to climate change and global warming.

Top 3 Rainforest in the world

There are many rain forests out of which we are now looking at only the top 3 rainforests in the world

1. Amazon Rainforest

This is the world’s largest tropical rainforest located in South America with the land mass of 628 million hectares of tree covering area including 526 million hectares of primary forest and is the forest which has highest forest loss. 30 million hectares of primary forests have been deforestrated from 2002 to 2019.

2. The Congo Rainforest

It is the second largest tropican rainforest located in Congo Basin with the land mass of 288 million hectare of tree cover forest and 168 million hectares of primary forest. Due to deforestration, this forest losts over 6 million hectares of primary forest and 13.5 million hectares of tree cover forest between 2002 and 2019.

3. Australasian Realm Rainforest

This tropical rainforest is found on the island of New Guinea and also north eastern Australia with the land mass of 89 hectares of tree covering including 64 million hectares of primary forest in 2020. Due to deforestration, Indonesian part of New Guinea losts 605,000 hectares of primary forest area while PNG losts 732,000 hectares from 2002 .

INDIA’S ECONOMIC EXPLOITATION UNDER BRITISH RULE

SOURCE- PINTEREST

The very first Hindi word to be added in the English dictionary was “loot” which refers to the spoils of war pillaged from an enemy. This first addition was made when the British ruled India and filled their bags with Indian riches.

Before the British established their stronghold in India, our country was known all around the world as “Golden Bird” or “Sone ki Chidiya”.

The disintegration of the Mughal Empire in the 18th CE brought both political and economic fragmentation of the country. It was during this time that the British made their cunning move and eventually began to colonize the country. It was this colonial rule that not only devastated the political and social fabric but also drew out the riches.

A company’s official John Sullivan observed in 1840,
‘Englishmen flourishes, acts like a sponge, drawing up riches from the banks of Ganges and squeezing them down upon the banks of Thames’.

Before the British came, India’s share of the world’s GDP was very significant.
Angus Maddison, a British economic historian observes that the contribution of India to world GDP declined from 24.4% to just 4.2% between 1700-1950. This is really a very dwindling figure.

SOURCE- PINTEREST

It was not that the Indians during the colonial times did not understand it. It was apparent to everyone. The greatest contribution in making the common people realize the economic exploitation goes to Dadabhai Naoroji. He put forward the “Drain of Wealth” theory.
He described the drain of wealth as the major cause of Indian poverty. He said that the British were “bleeding India White”.

“By the end of the nineteenth century, India was Britain’s biggest source of revenue, the world’s biggest purchaser of British exports, and the source of highly paid employment for British civil servants and soldiers all at India’s own expense. Indians literally paid for their own oppression.”
― Shashi Tharoor, Inglorious Empire: What the British Did to India

And now the figures of how much the British drained our country would certainly blow everyone’s mind.
Writing in 1859, George Wingate estimated the drain at £4 million per annum for 17 years between 1835-1851.
V.I. Pavlov, professor of Economics at Moscow State University, estimated that in the 1930’s the British squeezed India of £130 million- £140 million in pure tribute.
He remarks that -“With this amount, India could annually construct 3 plants of Bhilai type each of which would exceed in capacity the country’s iron and steel industry in British period”.

Thus, it can be concluded that the exploitation of Britishers is beyond reparation. The Englishmen understood that India was the bird that could lay golden eggs for them. So, they drained our country so excessively that when they left in 1947, they left behind an economically impoverished country, suffering for centuries from poverty and exploitation.

The Art of Rogan Painting

India is a diverse country, rich in age-old traditions and culture. Throughout its history, India has witnessed the emergence of many exotic art forms and craftsmanship. However, with the rise of cutting-edge technology of industrial textiles, many traditional craft forms have taken a massive hit. Rogan painting is a classic example of an enthralling yet sadly dying art.

What is Rogan Painting?

Rogan painting is a 400-year old inherited traditional textile craft of Gujarat. It is considered to be the oldest and most challenging printing art in the history of textile. The word Rogan means oil in PersiaWith origins in Persia, it was brought to India around 300 years ago, even though there is not enough historical evidence to support the statement.

Preparation of the Ingredients

The chief ingredients required for Rogan painting are castor oil, wood, kerosene oil and dyes. The first step in the painting is the preparation of Rogan paste.

After preparing a furnace and selecting a suitable aluminium container, the local craftsmen boil a litre of castor oil for a minimum of four hours. The time required for boiling may vary depending upon the quantity of the oil taken. Then, they continuously stir the oil until it is time to remove the container from the furnace to let it cool down. While boiling, the castor oil may catch fire, after which it is immediately taken out and covered with a lid. During this, the impurities present in the oil gets thrown out in the form of fumes. This process is repeated several times until the oil forms a thick, gelatin-like consistency and turns yellowish.

Traditionally, the dyes used in Rogan painting were derived from organic, natural sources such as stones and plants. But today, synthetic dyes are used too. Red, yellow, blue, white, green, and brown are the primary colours used in the painting.

A manual stone grinder was used to mix naphthol dyes and white chalk powder and prepare the colour paste. With the gradual addition of water, the required consistency of the paste is reached. The Rogan paste is added to the colour paste and ground until it forms the desired soft, smooth, gelatinous dye paste.

Process of Rogan Painting

The process of painting is a very tedious and cumbersome task. Initially, the craftsmen lay the fabric to be painted on the floor. Next, they take a lump of the dye paste and put it on the palm of one hand. They hold a suya rod or a metal stylus in the other hand and mix the thick paste till it stretches into a thread-like structure.

They carefully twist the rod to create beautiful motifs and patterns across the fabric without the rod touching the cloth. After that, they fold the fabric and press it evenly to obtain an identical impression on the other half of the fabric. Lastly, the fabric is left out in the sunlight for about six to seven hours to let it dry.

The intricate motifs that embellish the fabric, such as geometric flowers, peacocks, the tree of life, etc., are inspired by the history and folk culture of the Kutch region of Gujarat.

Originally, the Rogan Art was used to adorn the trousseau of a bride. But due to the limited resources, meeting the market demand has become a challenge. From almost becoming a dying art to gaining worldwide recognition, Rogan Art sure has come a long way.

North Korea’s famine- The History is repeating itself

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has asked his country to prepare for dialogue and confrontation with the United States. The Dictator has asked his countrymen to get ready to protect the dignity of the state but is North Korea even in the state to provoke the US. Pyongyang’s problems are on the rise, it is running out of food, it may be staring at a famine. Kim Jong Un may be unwell, there has been a lot of speculation after the North Korean dictator’s photos came out, they showed a seemingly thinner Kim.

The Hermit Kingdom is running out of food, in session at the plenary of North Korea’s ruling party all eyes are on North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un, as he walks up to the podium Kim wastes no time in addressing the food crisis, he calls it ‘tense’. Admissions like these are rare in a country that habitually rides behind a facade which also makes admissions like these very scary. Hunger and malnutrition have long coexisted with authoritarianism. The UN world food program claims that atleast 10 million North Koreans are malnourished, the country’s total population is 25 million. Most families can manage only two meals a day, many can afford just corn. As of june 2020, 40 percent of North Korea needed humanitarian aid, one year on the crisis has worsened. North Korea shut its borders with China in early 2020, China is North Korea’s primary economic partner and it accounts for 90 percent of North Korea’s trade when Pyongyang shut that door, the bilateral trade fell by 81 percent. Between june and september, North Korea was also hit by a severe flood. The result of the twin disaster looks horrible. North Korea’s GDP is 8.5 percent is estimated to have plummeted by in 2020 unlike the rest of the world, Pyongyang failed to rebound.

Earlier this year, Kim asked his countrymen to brace for an arduous march. The reference was to the famine of the mid 1990s where almost 3 million people died of starvation. This is clearly history repeating itself, North Korea has obviously run out of its imports from China. It has also refused international help and has advocated a stricter lockdown instead. North Korea has not publicly signed any vaccine deals, it has been questioning vaccine efficacy while clandestinely importing vaccine from China. Reports say vaccines are being loaded onto Chinese refrigerated vehicles and secretly moved to the North Korea city of Siniju who are they for reports say North Korean civilians have not been told about a global vaccine rollout. Vaccines from the Gavi Covax alliance are yet to land in Pyongyang. The situation in the hermit kingdom is dire to say the least. It becomes more desperate when you consider the dictator’s undisclosed health problems.

Kim has clearly lost a lot of weight, he is believed to be five foot and seven inches tall. South Korean intelligence claims Kim weighs around 140 kilos, he has been gaining six to seven kilograms in a year since ascending the throne. There is a clear BMI mismatch and his family’s health history isn’t flattering. Both Kim’s father and grandfather died of heart ailments. Kim Jong Un II disappeared for a brief while in 2020, only to return limping with a walking stick. Kim’s weight loss has triggered speculation, North Korean watchers have gone to extent of siting the difference in the length of watch strap.

Film industry in covid-19 crisis.

The COVID-19 Pandemic has had an impact on nearly all aspects of our lives, and the film industry is no exception.Movie theaters are by nature a high-risk environment, as they often pack hundreds of people into a small space together for extended periods of time. Additionally, it can be difficult and time-consuming to clean them, making them less than ideal for a highly contagious virus like COVID-19.So how have businesses like movie theater chains and film production companies adjusted to these unprecedented times?

Movie theaters have arguably been hit the hardest, and several major chains such as Cinemex have been forced to close down permanently. Even AMC, the largest chain in America, may be forced to file for bankruptcy. Some smaller chains and independent theaters have allowed small groups of people to book private screenings, in an attempt to earn some money. Several states have announced support for a socially-distanced reopening of theaters, but with distribution companies not releasing new films and most film-goers wary, it remains to be seen if many will reopen at all.

Because of the Covid-19 lockout, the demand for OTT content has skyrocketed. The largest participant in this market, ‘Netflix,’ had a huge income that surpassed $25 billion US dollars in 2020. Similarly, the income of other OTT platforms has skyrocketed! Have you ever wondered how these OTT media generate money?

Over the top media is a video streaming technology that allows you to enjoy content while connected to the Internet. There is also a large selection of content available in both free and paid versions, such as movies, TV series, and documentaries.OTT media creates movies by assembling a crew and funding them out of their own pockets. The second option is to buy the rights from filmmakers in order to expand their content inventory.

With the use of machine learning known as Algorithm, over the top media know their audience’s preferences. This medium is dubbed “The Future of Entertainment,” as our generation is completely reliant on these channels for entertainment. The profitability of OTT media is determined by the number of viewers and subscribers. The more people that use these platforms, the more money may be made through the aforementioned revenue models.

Once a movie becomes a hit and garners huge box office collections, its subsequent satellite and OTT rights will also be priced at exorbitant rates, said Umrotkar. “…that way, OTT releases are not going to compensate for the potential the movie could have had,”both cinemas and OTT platforms will coexist beautifully.

Coronavirus and COVID-19: What You Should Know

What Is COVID-19?

A coronavirus is a kind of common virus that causes an infection in your nose, sinuses, or upper throat. Most coronaviruses aren’t dangerous.In early 2020, after a December 2019 outbreak in China, the World Health Organization identified SARS-CoV-2 as a new type of coronavirus. The outbreak quickly spread around the world.ADVERTISEMENTCOVID-19 is a disease caused by SARS-CoV-2 that can trigger what doctors call a respiratory tract infection. It can affect your upper respiratory tract (sinuses, nose, and throat) or lower respiratory tract (windpipe and lungs).It spreads the same way other coronaviruses do, mainly through person-to-person contact. Infections range from mild to deadly.SARS-CoV-2 is one of seven types of coronavirus, including the ones that cause severe diseases like Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS) and sudden acute respiratory syndrome (SARS). The other coronaviruses cause most of the colds that affect us during the year but aren’t a serious threat for otherwise healthy people.Is there more than one strain of SARS-CoV-2?An early Chinese study of 103 COVID-19 cases found two strains, which they named L and S. The S type is older, but the L type was more common in early stages of the outbreak. They think one may cause more cases of the disease than the other, but they’re still working on what it all means. It is also normal for a virus to change, or mutate, as it infects people and this virus has done so. There are several variants which have been named for the regions they were first discovered but they have now spread to other areas and countries, some proving to be more contageous as well as more deadly. How long will the coronavirus last?There’s no way to tell how long the pandemic will continue. There are many factors, including the public’s efforts to slow the spread, researchers’ work to learn more about the virus, their search for a treatment, and the success of the vaccines.Symptoms of COVID-19

The main symptoms include:

Fever Coughing Shortness of breath Trouble breathing Fatigue Chills,sometimes with shaking Body aches Headache Sore throat Congestion/runny nose Loss of smell or taste Nausea Diarrhea The virus can lead to pneumonia, respiratory failure, heart problems, liver problems, septic shock, and death. Many COVID-19 complications may be caused by a condition known as cytokine release syndrome or a cytokine storm. This is when an infection triggers your immune system to flood your bloodstream with inflammatory proteins called cyt okines. They can kill tissue and damage your organs.

The Concept of Well-Being: Simplified

The concepts of general health and wellbeing of human beings have been used interchangeably in recent times. Though some variances exist, they deserve attention altogether.
Health, as defined by the World Health Organization (WHO) is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. Health itself has some key determinants which include social, economic, and physical environments coupled with race, belief, economic or social condition.
Wellbeing or wellness on the other hand, refers to an optimal state of health expressed as a positive approach to living. It places emphasis on the constant search for good health as an utmost goal.
Health and wellbeing are a constant and dynamic process of change and growth in an effort to meet one’s pinnacle of potential and overall wellness.

Paying attention to health translates into wellbeing, and wellbeing itself comprises eight key dimensions, these are;

Emotional Wellbeing; proper understanding of your feelings and coping effectively with stress is addressed here. Importance should be paid to self-care, stress maintenance, relaxation and growth from experiences.

Environmental Wellbeing; having a lifestyle that is beneficial and respectful to the surroundings. Earth protection is key as being environmentally conscious by raising awareness should be prioritized.

Financial Wellbeing; this refers to learning how to successfully manage financial expenses. Money plays a cardinal role in our lives and the absence of it impacts health alongside overall performance.

Intellectual Wellbeing; new ideas and continuous lifelong learning find a resting place in an open mind. Expansion of knowledge is encouraged through scholastic or community activities.

Occupational Wellbeing; enjoying what you do for a living and appreciating your contributions. This angle of wellbeing encourages personal satisfaction and improves one’s life worth through work.

Physical Wellbeing; this deals with being responsible for your heart and seeking care when the need arises. Exercising, eating and sleeping well, and paying attention to signs of illness are crucial to physical wellbeing.

Social Wellbeing; Creation of a support network and actively engaging in social roles effectively. Development of valuable relationships with peers and intimate relationships with partners is encouraged here.

Spiritual Well Being; meaning and purpose are the main focus, and spiritual fulfilment can be achieved through relaxation or religion. Someone who is spiritually well knows which resources to use to cope with life’s everyday issues.

Fugu: The forbidden fish

Everyone knows that its human nature to want a thing that is forbidden to them. This is what drives many people in Japan and even foreigners who visit Japan, to try the infamous fugu fish. Found in the Pacific Ocean, this fish is a pufferfish and looks rather innocuous, in terms of being poisonous. However, it’s the perfect example of the phase, “looks can be deceiving” as the fish is said to be 1,200 times more poisonous than cyanide. The fish is so poisonous that a slight error in its preparation can cause instant fatality. However, its still one of the most expensive and revered delicacies of Japan.

Described as a fish whose taste is “indescribable”, Fugu is only affordable to the high-end part of our society. The taste of this fish is said to be like no other food anyone would have ever tasted, so utterly delicious that people are willing to risk their lives for it. The liver is famously known as the tastiest part of the fish, but its also the most deadliest part, along with the ovaries, and the eyes. Fugu is deadly because of the poison tetrodotoxin. The poison, a blocker of sodium channels, paralyses the muscles while the victim is completely aware, then the poisoned person cannot respire and dies from suffocation. This takes roughly about 10 mins. Now, with so much advancement in science, there has got to be an antidote to this poison which has been killing people for more than 2,300 years, which is the time during which fugu consumption dates back to. Unfortunately and surprisingly, there is no cure once you ingest this toxin. The normal therapy is to help the respiration and circulation of the person until the toxin is digested and removed through the victim’s body. Researchers found that a fugu’s tetrodotoxin arises from eating other tetrodotoxin-loaded animals that the fish develop insensitivity to over time. So, an effort has been made to cultivate these fishes in toxin free environment.

Now the question looms that if the fish is so poisonous, how are people consuming it? Well, no one is consuming it with a 100% surety that they wont die. However, due to its popularity, high demand and income, there are specialized chefs who prepare fugu. These chefs train in fugu preparation from anywhere between 4-10 years. A license is then assigned to them, specifically for the preparation of fugu. Only then, under controlled restaurant conditions, can they prepare fugu. The fugu is then served in an arrangement representing chrysanthemum petals.

A paradox has appeared in Japan where some activists are proposing a ban on the selling and consumption of fugu, while some are even requesting the government to legalise the consumption of the liver of fugu. Fugu has been the leading cause of food poisoning in Japan and most of the people who have died from it were fishermen who tried to cook fugu domestically. There is no doubt that fugu is highly lethal, however consumption of this delicious delicacy in restaurants with controlled environment and skilled chefs is reasonable. What do you think? Given a chance, would you ever try out this dangerous but indescribably tasty delicacy?

I witnessed a Supernova🌻

I witnessed a Supernova yesterday,It woke me up from a dreamy slumber And placed me against a big white ball of fire,
Was it real? Or was it my slumber?
Perhaps; I’m just a pathological liar.
But on the offchance that I ain’t one,
Let me describe to you a vivid recreation,
Of my bright, burning experience.

The supernova was extremely bright yet equally silent,I watched in amazement & terror,And wondered if the sun would ever unleash such horror,To get rid of our big blue ball of error.A guest interrupted this glorious
moment : My mind :Said to me that it was time to revisit the significance of my insecurities;
And that they were tiny & irrelevant in a universe so grand.Whose fate was already plotted by a superior being,
Who spun the wheel of time when he saw fit.

The world could not believe me that i witnessed a supernova .And it’s memories wouldn’t relieve me.I saw a crescent moon hidden in the nova’s shadow,
Hiding secrets unbeknownst to mankind,
Well, who am I judge?
After all I’ve seen only half it’s side.

Questions arise in the aftermath of what I’ve witnessed,
The wait for answers is but a futile one,
Since none believe in the existence of my story.I write this story as a last hope,To do justice to the great starburst;Witness me, oh great audience!As I explode into mystery & light,Going home to my supernova
Beyond reach,Beyond sight……

~~~~
Idea behind my story 😐
The stars have the most violent beginning and the most violent ends .The war is never really over for them, not when they’re constantly burning in order to survive; hydrogen atoms colliding haphazardly and repeatedly to create the energy that keeps it shining bright, they say people throw rocks at things that shine. But stars do this to themselves–self-destruction as a means of survival, they eventually run out of fuel and then, blow themselves apart to create an SUPERNOVA seen across the UNIVERSE that will eventually fade away.It’s only once the burning has stopped that a star truly, completely dies, they never asked to live this way.
 Does depression cause obesity?
                 Depression and anxiety can both be associated with overeating, poor food choices, and a more sedentary lifestyle. Over time, weight gain may eventually lead to obesity. About 43 percent of adults with depression are obese, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
CONCLUSION:
Obesity is a choice. It takes work and effort to stay in shape, but it can be fun. You must eat healthy, stay active, and make good life choices. But healthy foods can be delicious, there are plenty of activities to do that are so much fun, and making good life choices can be rewarding in multiple ways.
The Power of Advertisements
Advertisements have brought about a tremendous amount of wants by the customers. Sometimes, products are wanted by the customers because of their advertising potential and the brand ambassadors being added in-order to promote the brand and it’s new products and services in the market, and not because of the want for the product by the customers. More often, a product is wanted more frequently and repetitively only because of the liking and attractiveness towards the brand by it’s potential customers. It has often led to huge spending on brand promotion and is unlikely to capture the customers every time it advertises. It is because of the advertisements that products are often sold so rapidly that they become out of stock and the limited quantities produced by the seller often makes the price of the product higher and makes customers wait for the product for days and weeks. Advertisements have become very competitive and nowadays, every advertisement has become unethical to an extent where there are similar products and brands being compared in the advertisement shown on television,etc. Example, an advertisement for laptop, there have been videos made on why one should prefer Mac over PC though their pricing strategy follows a a way where their products are always priced high since the company’s existence. Infact, Apple Macs v/s PCs has had negative impact on the PCs being sold as they have thought to be non-durable. Intense competition has arisen in advertisements, competitive products like Pepsi and Coke have been advertising and promoting their brands at every occasion be it any festivals, happy occasions, the Indian Premier League have sponsored Pepsi before. Due to advertisements, every local product now has become global and demand for their products and services are always high. Customers have started changing their preferences to having a product of only known brands because of their advertisement appeal and the way they market the product’s features and services and discounts offered with different debit and credit cards on purchase.
A simple example of how advertisements have influenced the customers to buy a product is the Bingo chips packets. It’s advertisement is more often described to be the most funny and eye-catching. It has a brand resonance value, ie, customers will surely remember the brand name because of the advertisements it shows on TVs, Cinema halls, etc. The most popular advertisement of bingo being the packet of bingo mad angles, through which it started gaining popularity and started to compete against Lays, Pringles, etc. Another example of advertising and it’s influence is the way OnePlus phone company advertises each of it’s mobile phone and other product it launches in their launch events.
Advertisements has also made impact on the way we percept our belief on high and low priced articles. High priced articles need no advertising as they are already being sold enough at the market only because it is of higher vlue and prestige is the assumption amongst the customers. Low priced articles which give the same quality are thought to be of less quality and standards and thus, not given much preference to.
To conclude, one can say that advertisements has the power to influence on it’s customers and the target market and thus, has power.
Vaccination: Why the hesitation?
Covishield and Covaxin are the two major words that is parading the tongues of Indian at the moment. With the vaccination drives going on around the country, many people are energetic to be vaccinated to fight this “Mahamari”. Nearly 24 crore people have been vaccinated in India and still there is a long way to go.
Some sort of hesitation can be seen among people about taking the vaccination and are blindfolded due to some sort of prejudice. There is a case scenario where they see these vaccination camps as a sort of public socialization and are meeting their friends and family in the vaccination camps. Who could blame them? They have been locked up in their houses since March 2020 and its been more than a year since they can go out. And with the doses being of shortage and people moving from one camp to another only increases the chances of being contracted with the virus. Now, can we blame the officials for not controlling the public’s movements in the public places? The answer is yes and no. There are some corrupt officials about whom there need not be further discussion but there ARE some officials who work hard, putting their families and themselves at risk, creating awareness, fining the rule breakers and finding creative and harmless ways to punish the lockdown violators and needless to say, get trending in social media.
Believe it or not, social media is really helpful in this way. Recently, there were a group of women police constables who danced to latest hits with their own twist in the lyrics about safety against the virus. Now, coming back to the vaccination drives, why are people hesitant? There may be several reasons. One might be not aware of the positive effects of the vaccination. There is no end to the gossip circle that goes around in our country and sometimes it can be so ridiculous that the topic would have strayed far away from the original topic of discussion. So, this might the second reason, because we have to accept that all bodies are different, some people react negatively to the vaccination and this one in a thousand story stops our people from getting vaccinated.
They think they might get affected too BECAUSE of the vaccine and not vice versa. Another category of people might think that they are safe enough and stay at home all the time, adhering to all the government polices and that the virus cannot affect them. They sometimes forget that the government also insists on getting vaccinated. But these reasons have slowed down recently as more and more people have started getting vaccinated but keeping in mind the population of our country, we still have a long way to go until each and every one of us get vaccinated.
We need to remember that a vaccination is only one way of fighting this virus and we cannot sit back and let our guard down after getting vaccinated. We still need to wear masks, maintain social distancing and stay at home. As our Hon’ble Prime Minister says, we need to stick together (not literally!!) and fight this virus.
