Digital marketing has became necessary

Take a risk and keep testing, because what works today won’t work tomorrow, but what worked yesterday may work again.”- Amrita Sahasrabudhe.

Digital marketing is a canopy for marketing. It is all about marketing Products and services through digital technologies, overall the Internet, digital marketing involves all marketing weapon that requires an electronic device or the internet.

When small businesses get started, their focus is often on how to get their first group of customers through the door. They may rely on traditional forms of advertising, such as print ads and coupon mailers or even big signs on the side of the road. They may trust that since they know they offer a good product or service, it’s only a matter of time until customers will find their
way to them.

This decade 2021, in just a three month whole world is facing new pandemic (covid19). As per government order we have to maintain social distancing and isolation. Every social gathering is
canceled. Small business or any other company can take this situation as an opportunity. As everyone will be in there houses all they gonna do there is watch TV, laptop or stick to there phone. This will be best opportunity to show cast there product or company.

Nower day people tend to believe in digital marketing then the traditional one. It’s an psychology of people if their favorite or popular celebrity do promote the particular product they will bye it then the unknown face doing the same ad. They qualities of advertisement also plays an important role on consumers mind. ” popular the celebrity is the more costumer they will attract”.

The group of potential customers that are found online is a much larger group of people than you are likely to be able to attract locally. Using digital marketing, you can reach an enormous audience in a way that is both cost-effective and measurable.

41% of U.S. buyers search and buy on Amazon while 28% search on Google then buy on Amazon, so small business SEO is still crucial . 3.2 billion people or 42% of the world population uses social media today (Emersys, 2019). Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Reddit, and LinkedIn are the market leaders. LinkedIn offers 80% of social media B2B leads, for example. On average, these people spend 2 hours and 22 minutes on social media networks per day, 80% of the time is on mobile.

The Orphans of Romania

The standard of living for Romanian orphans is still problematic despite vast improvements since their conditions were leaked to the west after the fall of communist government 1899.

Under Nicholae Ceausescu, both abortion and contraception were forbidden. Ceausescu believed that population growth would lead to economic growth. Birth rates especially rose during the years of 1967,1968, and 1969.

This increase in the number of births resulted in many children being abandoned in orphanages which were also occupied by people with disabilities and mental illness. Together, these vulnerable groups were subjected to institutionalised neglect, physical and sexual abuse , and drug use to control behaviour.

“A disabled and orphaned Romanian child lies in his bed on November 24, 2009, at the Targu Jiu orphanage, southwestern Romania, after being transfered from Bilteni’s orphanage, which was considered to be the worst place for children under the dictatorship of former Romanian President Nicolae Ceausescu.”

The U.S. consul in Bucharest at the time, Virginia Carson Young, noted that many of the children were not actually orphans, but were infact children who had parents unable to afford such large families, with such a situation being created by the mandated natalist requirements.

The parents had placed them in orphanages, often with the intention of picking them up at a older age. There were a high percentage of Roma (Gypsy) children in the orphanages who were often left in an institution until they were old enough t help earn a living, and then parents would claim them again.

“At three weeks old, Izidor was abandoned at a state-run hospital for “unsalvageables” in Nicolae Ceaușescu’s Romania — left behind by his family because one of his legs was deformed. “

The orphanages which were for the disabled children, treated the children very badly in there. Those orphanages lacked both medicines and washing facilities and physical and sexual abuse if children was reported to be common.

Sometimes, the children were often tied to their own beds or dangerously restrained in their own clothing, because the staff had failed to put clothes on them, the children would spend their day naked and be left sitting in their own feces and urine.

They were abused by the nurses and the older children used to beat the younger ones. All children, including girls, had their heads shaved, with made it difficult to differentiate one another.

Physical needs were not met, as many children died of minor illness or injuries such as cataracts or anemia. Many would starve to death. Some children in the orphanages were infected with HIV/AIDS due to the practice of using unsterilised instruments. Also they have to shift themselves from one orphanage to another. It is estimated that about 500,000 children were raised in orphanages.

“Estimates say that under Ceaușescu’s regime, 170,000 babies, children, and teens lived in “child gulags” subsisting on thin gruel, often in filthy, horrific conditions.”

“Deprived of loving care of any kind, those that lived were often under-developed physically and mentally, and found it difficult to form attachments with other people.”

After the Romanian Revolution, the number of street children was very high. Some ran away or were thrown out of orphanages or abusive homes and were often seen begging, inhaling “aurolac” from sniffing bags and roaming around.

Along with fund-raisers, westerners and Europeans adopted many Romanian children after the exploitation of their conditions. However strict led prevented many adoptions and the process of adoption became complex. Because of the neglect the children suffered, many grew up with physical and mental delays.

Even after being adopted, children had problems forming attachments to their new parents. Additionally to physical effects , the legal attributes of being disowned include a loss of legal surname, in addition to first names being assigned as numbers. Young children brought to orphanages typically cannot remember their names and because of this are named by their caretakers.

“Like all the boys and girls who lived in the hospital for “irrecoverables,” Izidor was served nearly inedible, watered-down food at long tables where naked children on benches banged their tin bowls. He grew up in overcrowded rooms where his fellow orphans endlessly rocked, or punched themselves in the face, or shrieked. “

“Out-of-control children were dosed with adult tranquilizers, administered through unsterilized needles, while many who fell ill received transfusions of unscreened blood. Hepatitis B and HIV/AIDS ravaged the Romanian orphanages.”

Start from down and reach the up

Hello guys, today’s topic is going to be very informative.

“Start up ” have you ever heard of this
Word before? Even if you have never heard of the word start up many of us actually heard about those startups which are doing fantastic .

Start ups are the newly established business,by one or more entrepreneurs. These entrepreneurs set up business by taking financial risks .

Start ups are actually initiated by its founders based on an idea which has a potential to become successful and bring profits to the company .

Even though startups gives wings to an individual’s dreams it is not easy to create an impact with an startup during this tough competition era.

And while setting up an start up the individual needs to have necessary funds so mostly the start ups are setup by taking loans,or borrowing money from families, friends.

So generally startup are built around one main idea which can change the whole picture, which can create an impact in the industry.

Startups can become successful only when the foundations that is the base on which the company is started should be rock solid, their main aim should not change even though some alterations can be done .

As the company grows the more the need of funds increases so especially the risk of setting up a startup should be taken very seriously and the decision must taken carefully.

There are many thing that you need such as impressive idea, funds and trusted partners and sacrifice your time, health for the wellbeing of the startup.

Start ups basis is believe ,the belief you have in your own self, your idea which is projected outside.

Entrepreneurs should have certain qualities that is needed for a successful startup so many institutions and universities are providing training for those who dream of starting their own company.

But in reality many startups that don’t stand a chance in the competition lack those qualities, they have the idea but cannot put into action, they cannot manage work as they have very little experience in this industry, they get swayed by others words and forget their whole main aim .

Mock startups are those programs where a student gets to experience the simulation of the real world.

Even the government entrepreneurship programs ,non profit entrepreneurship programs support many start ups They give guidance and even support them if the idea shows a potential .

Intellectual advisors ,hardworking staff ,investors who don’t mind to try risks for profits ,mentors who can guide you ,and great Teamwork makes the dream work that is it accelerates the growth rate of that start up.

Every start up has their own ups and downs but what is important is to never lose faith in yourselves and always hope for the best by putting out your best .

Startups don't have a instant success they to grow step by step and the more impact it has on the business industry the more it grows.

Some of the successful startups are

  • Ola
  • Swiggy
  • Zomato
  • Oyo
  • Flipkart

Every succesful company at present is a startup in the past and lessons should be learnt from those experiences

So always dream big ,work hard ,have faith, never lose hope ,never give up, and

“Learning from failures , paves the way to success.”

Thankyou^^

  • Time Management. …
  • Productivity. …
  • Performance. …
  • Know-How

  • Cultivate gratitude. …
  • Greet everyone you meet. …
  • Try a digital detox. …
  • Use positive self-talk. …
  • Practice random acts of kindness. …
  • Eat at least one meal mindfully. …
  • Get enough sleep. …
  • Breathe consciously.

Personality development refers to how the organized patterns of behavior that make up each person’s unique personality emerge over time. Many factors go into influencing personality, including genetics, environment, parenting, and societal variables.

Personality development helps you gain recognition and acceptance from the society as well as people around. Personality development plays an essential role not only in an individual’s professional but also personal lives. It makes an individual disciplined, punctual and an asset for his/her organization.

Here are  great ways to improve your personality:

  • Be a better listener. …
  • Read more and expand your interests. …

The four personality types are: Driver, Expressive, Amiable, and Analytical. There are two variables to identify any personality: Are they better at facts & data or relationships? And are they introverted or extroverted. Note: Most people will have major and minor type.

Death of the Aral

Introduction

The Aral Sea was an endorheic lake lying between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan in Central Asia. By definition it is a lake contrary to it’s name, translates to ‘Sea of Islands’ as it had around 1000 islands dotting it’s waters. It’s drainage basin flows through Uzbekistan and parts of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Afghanistan and Iran. It was formerly the fourth largest lake in the world with an area of around 70,000 square km. The Lake began shrinking since 1960 and largely dried up by 2010s.

History

The lake began shrinking after the rivers that fed it were diverted by Soviet irrigation projects. Kazakhstan was not an independent country then but a state or a ‘ socialist republic’ of then USSR, known as Kazakh SSR. The Soviet Government wanted Cotton to become a major export. They devised many projects diverting the Amu Darya river in the south and the Syr Darya river in the east to irrigate the nearby desert in an attempt to grow cotton, rice and cereals. There were large scale construction of irrigation canals which were poorly built allowing leakage and evaporation. Overtime the lake began to shrink at an alarming rate which didn’t exactly surprise the Soviet engineers as they, in a twisted sense, expected it. The salinity of the lake increased at an alarming pace . By 1987, the lake split into two separate water bodies, the North and South Aral Seas. Uzbekistan gained independence in 1991 after the fall of the Soviet Union but it’s first leader, Islam Karimov’s government continued the previous Soviet policies destroying the already beleaguered lake and causing an unprecedented ecological disaster.

The Post Soviet era

Uzbekistan gained independence in 1991 after the fall of the Soviet Union but it’s first leader, Islam Karimov’s government continued the previous Soviet policies destroying the already beleaguered lake. In 2003, South Aral sea further divided into east and west basins. At the same time a plan was put into motion by the Uzbek Government to recover the North Aral Sea by building Dike Kokaral, a dam, which was completed in 2005 and in the next year substantial recovery of sea level was recorded. By 2009, the southeastern lake had disappeared. By 2014, the entire Eastern basin of Aral Sea had dried up, which is now known as the Aralkum desert.

Environment Effects

Due to it’s shrinking countless unfortunate impacts on environment, economy and public health have been recorded. Worsening of the soil, pollution of the lake due to pesticides, death of the local flora and fauna, fish species, spike in cancer, lung diseases, tuberculosis, anaemia due to the locals drinking water and inhalation of contaminated dust which has caused many fatalities. Bustling fishing towns along the shores have now become grim ship graveyards. The town of Aral’sk, the main fishing port is now many kilometres away from the lake and has seen its population decline, most notably the town of moynak on the southern shores of the Aral Sea which used to be Uzbekistan’s biggest port.

Restoration Plans

There have been many restoration strategies planned out for Aral sea’s recovery. There is the Aral Sea basin programs where all five Central Asian countries help in the stabilization and rehabilitation of the local environment. There is also the North Aral sea restoration plan which has so far succeeded in recovery. Kazakhstan has partially revived and replenished it’s parts of the Aral Sea while Uzbekistan isn’t planning on abandoning the Amu Darya to irrigate their number one export cotton and are even moving towards oil exploration in the South Aral seabed.

* Gender – Are there male jobs & female jobs? – A useful debate which can get heated. The statutory guidance states that you must promote equality of opportunity so care must be taken when guiding this debate.
* Jobs of the future – What jobs will exist in 5, 10, 20 years that don’t exist now?
* What effects are robotic workers having on the job market? Will robots be able to do jobs like journalism & legal work (yes they will, computerised copy writing and contract checking are already a reality) or will automation only affect ‘physical’ jobs?
* Transferable skills – what are they and why do we need them? – Useful question to elicit knowledge of transferable skills – you may find this definition useful in order to help your students decide which skills are transferable “Transferable skills are general skills you can use in many jobs. You gain these skills from previous jobs, projects, voluntary work, sport, your home life, hobbies, and interests. They enable you to be adaptable and flexible in case you need to change your job”
* What skills & qualities do employers want when they employ a person straight out of school/college/university?

Jobs:-

INTRODUCTION:-

God rebukes Job’s three friends and orders them to make a sacrifice. Job prays for God’s forgiveness of them and God accepts his prayer. At the end of the book, God gives Job twice as much wealth as he had before, along with seven sons and three daughters. After that, Job lived 140 more years.
An Introduction to the Book of Job | Speaking the Truth in Love
A job, employment, work or occupation, is a person’s role in society. More specifically, a job is an activity, often regular and often performed in exchange for payment (“for a living”). Many people have multiple jobs (e.g., parent, homemaker, and employee). A person can begin a job by becoming an employee, volunteering, starting a business, or becoming a parent. The duration of a job may range from temporary (e.g., hourly odd jobs) to a lifetime (e.g., judges).
An activity that requires a person’s mental or physical effort is work (as in “a day’s work”). If a person is trained for a certain type of job, they may have a profession. Typically, a job would be a subset of someone’s career. The two may differ in that one usually retires from their career, versus resignation or termination from a job.

Jobs for people:-

Most people spend up to forty or more hours each week in paid employment. Some exceptions are children, retirees, and people with disabilities; however, within these groups, many will work part-time, volunteer, or work as a homemaker. From the age of 5 or so, many children’s primary role in society (and therefore their “job”) is to learn and study as a student.

Types of jobs:-

Jobs can be categorized by intensity (hours per week), by payment status, or by the level of experience required. The types of job stemming from intensity are categorized as full-time or part-time. They can also be classified into temporary, odd jobs, seasonal, self-employment, consulting, or contract employment. Regarding payment status, jobs are categorized as paid or unpaid. Examples of unpaid jobs include volunteer, homemaker, mentor, student, and sometimes intern. Finally, according to the level of experience required, jobs are usually grouped as entry level, intern, and co-op.
Some jobs require specific training or an academic degree.
Those without paid full-time employment may be categorized as unemployed or underemployed if they are seeking a full-time paid job.
A side job, also called a side hustle, side gig or moonlighting, is an additional job or jobs to supplement one’s income. A person with a side job may have little time left for sleep or leisure activities.
The Office for National Statistics in the United Kingdom lists 27,966 different job titles, within a website published 2015.

Day job:-

The expression day job is often used for a job one works in order to make ends meet rather than working in their preferred vocation. Archetypal examples of this are the actor who works as a waiter (the day job) while looking for roles, and the professional athlete who works as a laborer in the offseason because the athlete’s professional or semi-professional team does not pay a full living. The term is also applied to those who maintain a steady occupation while working as a day trader.
While many people do hold a full-time occupation, “day job” specifically refers to those who hold the position solely to pay living expenses so they can pursue the job they really want (which may also be during the day). The phrase strongly implies that the day job would be quit, if only the real vocation paid a living wage.
The phrase “don’t quit your day job” is a humorous response to a poor or mediocre performance not up to professional caliber. The phrase implies that the performer is not talented enough in that activity to be able to make a career out of it.

Getting a job:-

Further information: Job hunting and Employment
Getting a first job is an important rite of passage in many cultures. The youth may start by doing household work, odd jobs, or working for a family business. In many countries, school children get summer jobs during the longer summer vacation. Students enrolled in higher education can apply for internships or coops to further enhance the probability of securing an entry level job upon graduation.
Résumés summarize a person’s education and job experience for potential employers. Employers read job candidate résumés to decide whom to interview for an open position.

Use of the word:-

Workers often talk of “getting a job”, or “having a job”. This conceptual metaphor of a “job” as a possession has led to its use in slogans such as “money for jobs, not bombs”. Similar conceptions are that of “land” as a possession (real estate) or intellectual rights as a possession (intellectual property).

Occupation and life expectancy:-

Historically, manual work has seemed to contribute to shortening one’s lifespan.High rank(a higher position at the pecking order) has a positive effect. Professions that cause anxiety have a direct negative impact on health and lifespan. Some data is more complex to interpret due to the various reasons of long life expectancy; thus skilled professionals, employees with secure jobs and low anxiety occupants may live a long life for variant reasons. The more positive characteristics one’s job is, the more likely he or she will have a longer lifespan.Gender, country, and statistically confirmed danger are also notable parameters.

career:-

INTRODUCTION:-

Career development is now a lifelong process, rather than a lifelong job, and involves moving laterally or upwards within an organisation or between organisations. It is the combination of your life experience, learning, and all work experience.
Career Management Introduction | Human Resource Management

What is a career?

The past, the present and the future

The past:-

A typical career path in the past involved almost guaranteed job security. You obtained a “job for life” and you could expect steady progression up an organisation’s structure.

The present:-

Factors such as technological growth and consumer demand have changed the world of work. Career development is now a lifelong process, rather than a lifelong job, and involves moving laterally or upwards within an organisation or between organisations. It is the combination of your life experience, learning, and all work experience. These days, you are responsible for your own career and you have to continuously reflect on where you are, where you want to be and how you will prepare for further career opportunities.

The future:-

Change is everywhere. The world of work is constantly changing and we must rely on ourselves much more for stability and direction. In order to do this, we need to be aware of the changes that are occurring in the current world of work.

What is the world of work like?

Have I got the right information?

It’s important to make sure that your career decisions are informed by a realistic assessment of the information available rather than relying on assumptions that you or others may have.
Some of these assumptions may have gained credibility over time, especially if they have been reinforced by the media and people whose opinion you value.
The exercise below will give you the opportunity to test your own career assumptions.

Myths and realities quiz

This mini quiz gives you the opportunity to become aware of any career myths you may have accepted as realities and to possibly challenge these assumptions. Being aware of career myths that have influenced your career planning so far may open up new possibilities for exploration that you may not have considered.

Unmistakeable trends

Change is everywhere. There are no longer short periods of change followed by long periods of stability. We have to learn to live and prosper in a world of constantly changing demands and possibilities. Some of these changes include technological change, globally competitive markets, new patterns of work and higher educational requirements.
Whatever the reason, there has been a series of unmistakable trends, particularly in the world of work. These trends include:
  • changing social contracts between employers and labourers;
  • increasing contract work;
  • globalisation;
  • an increased competition for employment;
  • technology and its impact on all industries;
  • the creation of new industries;
  • an ageing population.
In South Africa, we are still grappling with high youth unemployment, unequal access to further education opportunities, and a widening income gap.
The results of these changes and trends are now having a major impact on our lives and we must rely on ourselves much more for stability and direction. We are constantly being reminded that we need to operate as a “company of one” and be flexible enough to respond quickly in this ever-changing environment.

Beauty In Nature

Everything we see around us, right from the moment we step outside our home is part of nature. The trees, animals, landscape, flowers, trees, breeze, sunlight, everything that makes our surroundings so beautiful and mesmerizing are part of nature. Nature does not arise spontaneously but needs years and years to bloom and blossom.
According to researchers, nature we see today has developed in 4.5 billion years. Initially, the earth was not sustainable for any kind of living thing. The atmosphere had no to very little oxygen, and the same was the case with water. The land made of molten magma and the atmosphere was toxic to survive. Slowly, the earth cooled down, and life started blooming on it. It began to rain, and nature, as we see today, was formed. This nature then gifted the earth with living creatures like animals, birds, and finally, humans.

It is the Mother Nature who never harms us but always nurtures us. By providing us fruits and vegetables, it nurtures our body. By providing us water hydrates our body, and by providing oxygen, it cleanses our body. It is usually seen that people who live close to nature, especially the villagers live a somewhat happy life as compared to the people living amidst the high hovering skyscrapers. Nature provides our ears sweet sound of birds, rejuvenates us with fresh air, breeze fills our soul with joy, and inspires to flow like the river. Nature provides the raw material for economic development as well.
Unfortunately, humans today are polluting nature in such a way that the healing pace has fallen slowly. The use of plastic, emission of CO2, production of industrial waste, increased use of chemicals, deforestation, poaching, and oil spillage in water bodies are serious concerns today. These are not only polluting nature and are also degrading the quality of the environment needed for the survival of not only animals and birds but also humans.

Nature has inspired not only poets and writers but also the common man. All the great poets and writers like William Wordsworth have always given the nature a significant space in their writings and musings. Nature has the power to take us to the place of peace and imagination to free the emotions that been locked inside us. If those emotions and feelings get freed, then there is immense power in them to bring on the changes that are unexpected. Many people are currently working and getting linked with the nature conservation organizations to preserve and enhance the nature and beauty around us.
By taking small steps like planting trees, using biodegradable materials, stopping water pollution, animal conversation, and keeping our surroundings clean, we can help Mother Nature to breathe again and rejuvenate in the same way it helps us.
There is no question that Earth has been a giving planet. Everything humans have needed to survive, and thrive, was provided by the natural world around us: food, water, medicine, materials for shelter, and even natural cycles such as climate and nutrients. Scientists have come to term such gifts ‘ecosystem services’, however the recognition of such services goes back thousands of years, and perhaps even farther if one accepts the caves paintings at Lascaux as evidence. Yet we have so disconnected ourselves from the natural world that it is easy—and often convenient—to forget that nature remains as giving as ever, even as it vanishes bit-by-bit. The rise of technology and industry may have distanced us superficially from nature, but it has not changed our reliance on the natural world: most of what we use and consume on a daily basis remains the product of multitudes of interactions within nature, and many of those interactions are imperiled. Beyond such physical goods, the natural world provides less tangible, but just as important, gifts in terms of beauty, art, and spirituality.

The beauty of nature around us The beauty of nature around us is one of the greatest blessings of God on us.
This beauty allows us to choose places and many destinations for the sake of rest, recreation and the best of times.
The beauty of nature has always been the first inspiration for artists and creators around the world, This is evidenced by the vast number of works of art, poetry and music that have attracted people around the world, and which revolve around the beauty and charm of nature.
Man by nature is a creature eager to taste beauty, and there is nothing more beautiful than nature.
The manifestations of the beauty of nature for the beauty of nature are many manifestations.
Wherever a person turns his face he will inevitably find a manifestation of these appearances.
Perhaps the most striking of these is the unique diversity in the colors around us, which created a wonderful natural painting. Other manifestations include variations in sizes, shapes, even among the creatures of the same species.
On the other hand, one of the greatest manifestations of nature’s beauty is the beautiful smells of certain creatures, such as flowers, flowers, and certain kinds of fruits, especially citrus, Which is accompanied by seasons and certain times; like the smell of the earth after the rain.
In conclusion, nature has a powerful transformative power which is responsible for the functioning of life on earth. It is essential for mankind to flourish so it is our duty to conserve it for our future generations. We must stop the selfish activities and try our best to preserve the natural resources so life can forever be nourished on earth.

“Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better “.

Mimesis in Aristotle’s Theory of Art [Part B]

In addition to imitation, representation and expression; mimetic activity produces appearance and illusion that affects the perception and behaviour of people, though this doesn’t negate Plato’s theory on the “realness” of imitation. For, though it is a common belief that perpetual experience allows us to have a closer look at the ‘real’ because works of art are encoded in such a way that humans are not duped into believing that they are the reality but rather recognise features from their own experience of the world within the work of art that cause the representation to seem valid and acceptable – not just existing object or element but beautifies, improves upon and universalises these artistic musings. Aristotle next explores how imitation gives knowledge not just only to the philosophers but to everyone, which in turn creates a delight. Art unlike Plato who dismisses the said notion of art as an imitative form brings about the best in an artist, in terms of how he produces art. It is also essential to note that Aristotle doesn’t put Mimesis in some hierarchical nomenclature like Plato who’d put it to the lowest level of stratification. In any Tragedy, Aristotle insists on a plot arousing Pity and Fear by spectacle/audience which adds more to comprehending imitation; the spectator need not see the object in person which though is crucial, isn’t a deal – breaker, as even a play which has this element of imitation – can convey the plot effectively this can. Be achieved by delivering the speech, actions, the chorus, setting and other elements in such a way that imitation of the desired idea is carried out with brilliance and would successfully be rousing the cathartic element of tragic pleasure is also an important idea with Mimesis.

He dwells upon how Art doesn’t reflect any aspect of natural life as origin of art to the human affinity is through imitation, and while doing so isn’t discarding or trampling is as something necessarily bad but is entirely critical of an artist. Furthermore, he speaks on The Theory of Art as a productive science — for Aristotle, something which only rational human beings can engage in — as the quality produced determines merit of Art, and so art in its absolute formation is acknowledged by Aristotle focusing on its imitative element, as all works of art are modes of mimesis.

Mimesis in Aristotle’s Theory of Art [Part A]

Please make sure that you read cache up on the next post for more.

Aristotle in his Theory of Art reasons on the imitative nature of art; and further proposes that art imitates everything that is nature. In his theory he hints out that a poet, by his work tells us what is to happen unlike a historian who recites on what occurred in the past, which is put forth by Aristotle himself on the imitative nature of ‘poets’ work. The Oxford English Dictionary defines Mimesis as “a figure of speech, whereby words or actions of another are imitated” or “the deliberate imitation of the behaviour of one group of people by another as a factor in social change”. Mimicry as “the action, practice, or art of mimicking or closely imitating … the manner, gesture, speech, or mode of actions and persons, or the superficial characteristics of a thing” .
Aristotle focuses on the Mimetic nature of Art which isn’t a sole focus of Poetics, and while doing so, he had opposed to what Plato believed, that mimesis was manifested in ‘particulars’ which copies or imitates the forms from which they are derived; thus, the mimetic world (the world of representation and the world of structure of conscious experience) is inherently inferior in that it consists of imitations which will always be subordinate or auxiliary to their original. Aristotle, unlike Plato, has his own interpretation to the theory of imitation and thus doesn’t comply with what Plato presents when he talks about Mimesis. Aristotle has evidently accepted and agreed of the heterogeneous notion of art being produced by different artist differently, which gives a distinct identity to the theory of imitation and so he believes that an artist is responsible to birth an art form unlike Plato, who negates any form of Art – as it’s being thrice removed from reality. He contests these notions of reality and argues to the point that imitation is an extremely natural instinct in human nature, something very basic, the ability to imitate sets human beings apart from other animals and so not only it is natural to imitate it further helps to learn and simultaneously experience delight from it. In Poetics, what Aristotle has wrapped up for us isn’t a very definite answer, for what he means about ‘Mimesis’, instead has left it broad and elusive. Although various discussions on ‘Mimesis’ to be an integral fraction to the relationship between art and nature and to the relations governing works of art themselves. Therefore, we can assert the various species that Mimesis is distinguished in, i.e. Mean; Object; Mode of Imitation. Although for Aristotle, Imitation involves not merely physical resemblance, but also what one might call generally the relations between things or the ‘mechanism’ of things, he thus proposes the three key distinguishers through which one could filter imitations. Mean – is something a poet applies to his work of art, say Poetry and Dance, what distinguishes these two forms is; one requires spoken language to be at fruition and the other, not essentially emphasises on language and it thus could be substituted by music, similarly in Poetry difference in its metres or rhyme scheme and the structure in general could itself separately each genre from the other like Epics, Ballads or Elegy, et cetera. Next is Object of imitation – what the mean — the ‘matter’ of imitation — represent, and this would produce for better or worse or the same effect of the original piece imitated, here Aristotle points at the distinction of Tragedy and Comedy, for tragedy we’d need a better mode of imitation and for Comedy one uses caricature i.e. laughing at the object of imitation, to show an inferior or worse form of imitation to produce the choice effect. Further along is Means of imitation which in poem could be what the poet chooses as a form of delivering his work of imitation.

Economics of fuel price hike-A line of no control

Remarkable role of fuel:

Fuel is at the center of our lives and we revolve around it. It plays a pivotal role in our daily life without which our life would be unfeasible and become intricate. It is one of the widely used sources of energy in the world. It has its prevalence in various spheres from the domestic field of life to dealing with worldwide business, fuel is very essential. Beyond fuel in the tank, it is used to make everyday objects, because fuels like petrol are not only concerned with transportation and vehicles, it has lot more to deal with like in the medical field, toiletries, paint, electronics etc. It takes an indispensable part in our livelihood and irrespective of fuel life would be strenuous. It is like a key ingredient in the products that we use everyday and is an integral part of our life. Fuel is a universal need but the fuel prices are sky rocketing and when there is a continuous price hike, enormous amount of people especially those who toil for their daily being and many major sectors like transportation, manufacturing would be greatly affected. So eventually it will leave a huge devastating impact on us and the economy which could paralyze various fields all over world.

Fuel price hike crisis:

Hike in price of petroleum products in India has been a boiling issue since two decades. Petrol and diesel rates in the country have sharply climbed after the latest round of fuel price hike by oil marketing companies. When fuel price increased in 2000 there was a huge impact on the transport sector. Within three years petrol price has increased ten times and still counting. Petrol is now retailing above Rs.90 per liter in all major cities. It has already hit century in some spheres. A recent report indicated that some folks in Bihar’s Araria and Krishnaganj region are crossing the borders to smuggle petrol from Nepal. Both oil and petroleum are scarce commodities. Therefore both demand and supply are less elastic. The supply of the foreign currency reduces thus appreciating the value of the foreign currency and depreciating the value of the local currency which in turn increases the prices of imports. In 1990 the petrol was available to the consumers at Rs.9.8, if we compare the historical and the present prices the consumer will notice that the price has increased 9 times.

Cascading effect of the price hike:

There are many ways in which the people would be affected by the rising fuel crisis. Initially the impact would be felt by the owners of vehicles where two wheelers provide mobility to the aspiring people of the middle class. And many people agree that the price hike is having a great impact on their monthly budget. Petrol price hike directly and subsequently affects many major sectors like transportation, textiles, manufacturing, automotive sector etc. This affects the prices of daily essential commodities which are transported on a daily basis. Banking sector is also expected to suffer due to high inflation level. Increase in fuel price will also make an increase in food price. This will have a more severe effect on poor people who toil day and night for one or two meals a day. It is a like chain reaction which is interconnected with many other domain. If there is an increase in petrol price it will obviously increase the transportation cost which in turn will increase the price of goods and gradually it would push people into poverty. This will hit the common man so hard who is striving arduously to meet ends, because the business class would shift the burden to the customers. It also destructs the balance of trade of the country.

Proposals in framing alternatives:

We cant pin the blame on just one entity. It is not just one factor that causes fuel price hike ,it is a combination of things and even we are liable for the same. So each one of us are solely responsible for the betterment of the situation.

The initial thing to contribute to the alternatives is using the public transport for travelling places which can save fuel eventually.

Developing alternate sources of energy like solar and alternate fuel forms like hydrogen, natural gas, biodiesel, propane, waste derived oils, electricity etc.

Constantly accelerating and braking only wastes fuel and reduces the fuel consumption so coast when possible and avoid burning excess fuel.

For every 100 pounds of weight in the vehicle, the car’s fuel economy decreases by about 1 or 2%. So we can get rid of the unnecessary weight adding to the trunk of the car.

The Government can take initiatives which can help in the long run by allocating funds for the alternative sources of energy.

We all know fuel is a non-renewable energy and limited in nature. It is our responsibility to use it prudently and bequeath the future generation with this legacy and thus lead to sustainable development!!!

Vaccination

Before we start, please ensure that you — yourself and other are trying and registering yourself for the Covid-19 Vaccines.

The worlds largest vaccination drive, surely, but I’m tired of searching slots, and definitely who isn’t at this point. Be it Dose 1 or Dose 2, getting a slot — is equivalent to witting lottery, and you can’t argue with me, the lottery has amounts; price, money as a gift, with Vaccination slots, the nearer the Centre the bigger the jackpot. Oh.. what a nuisance.

I just had to travel 10+ KM to get my jab, and mind you; I stay in a metropolis. After months, and I’m not exaggerating, months, I finally paid enough to get my first jab (a pat on my back).

Nonetheless, don’t get dishearten, getting these vaccinations are crucial, with the Delta Variant hanging over our head, it has been all the more important that we start taking care of our health more and more.

Please still do follow all the social guidelines and public health notices, make sure you follow it for yourselves and that you don’t bring harm upon someone else; don’t complain if someone isn’t following the rules, you can insist them, but it’s their option and we have to respect, but that doesn’t mean you can compromise your safety.

Eat healthy, eat well, stay door, maintain social distance and wear a mask.

Go to the COWIN website and ensure that you have registered yourself by now, don’t make plans for a group vaccination day, it’s not a picnic, your health should be your primary focus. Keep on searching for slots in your district, or area, enrol yourself to sites/apps like PayTM to get notified when the nearest slot is available, the process is tough, with such a huge population, it can’t be avoided, that’s why you need to stay of top of your vaccination game, and take proper care once you do get your jab.

The heatwave in US-Canada

Heat waves begin when high pressure in the atmosphere moves in and pushes warm air toward the ground. That air warms up further as it is compressed, and begins to get hotter. The high pressure forcing the warm air down onto the ground expands vertically, changing the surrounding weather. It minimizes wind and cloud cover. The humidity in the atmosphere is high, thereby making the air more stifling. Heat waves over an area lasts for several days or longer.

The heat over western parts of Canada and the US caused by high pressure of hot air has lead to formation of a heat dome stretching from California to the Arctic territories. Temperature records have been shattered across western Canada and the US Pacific Northwest. Canada broke its country temperature record for a third straight day on Tuesday, 49.6 C, in Lytton, British Columbia. At least 486 sudden deaths were reported over five days in British Columbia. The new death tally of British Columbia, announced on Wednesday, sees a 195% increase in death rate over normal years. Typically, 165 sudden deaths would occur in the province over that period.

Map showing the hottest areas in Canada and the US north-west

The US north-west has also seen record highs- in temperature and a number of fatalities. The temperature at Portland International Airport peaked at 46.1C on Monday, going above the previous day’s high of 44.4C. At least a dozen deaths in Washington and Oregon are believed to be linked to the heatwave. US President Joe Biden said the heatwave was tied to climate change in a speech on Tuesday.

Many homes in British Columba do not have air conditioning as temperatures are usually far milder during the summer months. Residents of the province, state that the condition is intolerable and hope it never becomes like that again.

Many people have been forced to take refuge in cooling centres – air-conditioned building, such as stadiums, where residents can work and sleep. People and infrastructure in urban spaces, absorbing more heat than rural areas, have been particularly affected. The intense heat has melted power cables and cracked up the roads. Some places have been sold out of portable air conditioners, fans and ice and water.

There are also fears of an increased risk of wildfires, with the town of Lytton, British columbia, already forced to evacuate because of a blaze – a day after it recorded Canada’s highest ever temperature.

The wave is now moving eastwards over Canada’s provinces – Alberta and Saskatchewan and parts of Manitoba have been placed under heat warnings. As for the US, the heat is starting to ease near US western coastal regions, and in Seattle and Portland, but is expected to last all week in the interior areas of the Pacific Northwest.

HATE CRIMES

When faced with a crisis, individuals typically revert to a terrible human trait: protecting their own while looking for a scapegoat to blame for the problem. The pandemic increased interpersonal and individual-level prejudice in a variety of circumstances, from discriminatory views toward racial, ethnic, and religious minority groups to verbal threats and physical assaults directed against them. Physical attacks and verbal abuse against LGBT community, Asian-Americans, Muslims who are frequently blamed as carriers, are now commonplace.

Hate crimes are crimes often motivated by prejudice or hatred towards specific groups of people. To be classified as a hate crime, the act must meet two criteria: first, it must be a criminal offense, and second, it must be motivated by bias. Hate crimes are acts of violence committed with the intent of injuring or intimidating someone based on their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion or sexual orientation. Hate crimes may also target people with disabilities. Hate crimes also appear to be more common in societies that are undergoing rapid social change and emerging groups, which may be culturally dissimilar, are seen as a threat to the status quo. Threats, property damage, assault, murder, and any other criminal offense motivated by prejudice are examples of hate crimes. Individuals from specific groups are not the only ones who are victims of hate crimes. Hate crimes can target people or property that are just affiliated with – or even considered to be a member of – a group that shares a recognized characteristic, such as human rights defenders, community centers, or houses of worship.

Hate crimes, unlike other sorts of crimes, have a far-reaching impact on both the immediate victim and others like them. They not only take lives and wreak havoc on families, but they also traumatize the communities where they occur. These activities create distrust and terror among communities, prohibiting them from participating in community life or cooperating with local law enforcement in investigating and preventing crimes. So, it’s extremely important for the authorities to find a way to stop these hate crimes.

Combating Hate Crimes

  • Recognize and condemn all instances of violent hate crimes. Government officials and public figures should send clear and consistent reminders that violent offenses motivated by bias and intolerance will be fully investigated and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
  • Acknowledging the particular damage caused by hate crimes, authorities should introduce laws that create specific offenses or increases punishments for violent crimes committed on the basis of the victim’s race, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, mental or physical disabilities, or other similar status.
  • Governments should make sure that people who commit hate crimes face legal consequences of their action.
  • Official monitoring and public reporting systems should be maintained by governments to give reliable data for informed policy decisions to address violent hate crimes.
  • Official anti-discrimination and human rights organizations should have the responsibility to supervise, report, and help victims of hate crimes.
  • Governments should support and strengthen international bodies with anti-discrimination objectives.
  • To minimize fear and support victims, governments should conduct outreach and education activities to communities and civil society groups.

How Avatar became timeless series

Avatar is an American animated series which first aired in 2005. Avatar: The Last Airbender series was created by Micheal Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzto. It used to air on Nickelodeon. The show was targeted towards kids but today it has a fanbase comprising of not just kids but adults as well. It’s fandom has been growing and is quite active.
Last year, ATLA was released on Netflix and broke one of the major Netflix record.
By appearing on Netflix’s chart for 60 consecutive days, The Last Airbender set a record of becoming the show with the longest consecutive run on streamer’s top 10 TV series chart.

https://www.newsweek.com/avatar-last-airbender-show-netflix-chart-top-10-record-1519004

This show has an IMDb rating of 9.3/10, 97% Rotten Tomatoes and 9/10 TV.com ratings. These ratings are enough to prove what a great show ATLA has been. It’s last episode aired 13 years ago, still ATLA’s fanbase is continuously growing. This is because it is much more than a regular kid’s show.
The story takes place in a world which is divided into four nations: water tribe, earth kingdom, fire nation and air nomads. Avatar, the master of all four elements is the only hope for peace. The 61 episode series is divided into three seasons referred to as ‘Books’ and each book deals with avatar’s journey in mastering a single element.
What makes this series so great is the theme and it’s characters. Every single character is explored thoroughly and given relatable backstory and character development. Zuko’s redemption throughout the series is probably the best redemption arc ever.
The themes it covers are really mature. War, genocide, class inequalities, colonialization, identity crisis, gender inequality, etc. are some of the prominent themes of the series.
The world building done in this show is phenomenal. In the first 10 minutes of episode 1, the whole world of avatar is explained. Throughout the series, and especially in season 2, world exploration is done very correctly.
The depiction of cultural diversity is done flawlessly. Each nation is inspired from a different culture and the way they all are depicted make the avatar world relatable and believable.
The lessons and morals that it teaches can be easily applied to our lives. Lessons like not letting your past affect your present, choosing your own destiny etc. are really inspirational.
The animation it uses is traditional and is inspired by anime. Even though it is quite an old show, the animation is way ahead of it’s time and can be considered as good as all the modern animations. ‘The Last Agni Kai’ a fight sequence, is phenomenal both in terms of animation and music and probably the best fight of the series. The music and ost are really good which make the scenes more impactful.
Overall, Avatar: the last airbender is one of the greatest show of all times and has become timeless. There are two types of people- 1. those who love ATLA and 2. those who have not watched avatar. So go ahead and give this masterpiece a try. It is a must watch!!!
