education policies of India.

 EDUCATION POLICIES BY THE GOVERNMENT.

Which schooling policies are the newest? Is this the very first? When was the initial education policy put into practice? Students may have inquiries about educational policy.

The Narendra Modi administration passed the most recent education strategy on July 29, 2020. The previous regulation, NPE 1986, was replaced by this one. This is the BJP’s inaugural educational strategy.

Key proposals of the national education policy, 2020

  •   The nep suggests changing the academic framework of the school from [10 + 2] of schooling to [5+3+3+4].
  • The duration of the undergraduate [UG] degree structure will be 3 or 4 years. There are currently numerous entries.
  • The government will stop offering the M. Philosophy program.

  • Under the new nep 2020, higher education institutions will now be able to offer a master’s degree that lasts just one year.

  • To avoid damaging hierarchies and silos between various fields of learning, there won’t be a clear division between the arts and sciences, between the curriculum and extracurricular activities, between academic and vocational streams, etc. The most crucial and required adjustments were made in this new educational policy. The implementation of this is crucial, and it has already started and received positive feedback.

 The first education policy.

In 1968, the Indira Gandhi administration established the first education policy. The Kothari commission (1964–1955) served as the foundation for this approach. This was renowned for its radical reconstruction and equal access to education.
1968’s education policy features.

  1. Free and compulsory education till the age of 14 years.
  2.  Improvement in status, emoluments, and competence of the teachers.
  3. Three language formulas Hindi, Sanskrit, and international language especially English should be implemented.
  4. Equal education opportunities for all sections of society.
  5. Subjects like science and mathematics should be an integral part of general education.
  6. Agriculture and industry education.
  7. The quality of books should be improved.
  8. Adult education program.

 National education policy 1986.

This was the second education policy of India and was launched under the government of Rajiv Gandhi. This basically works on two major things removal of disputants and providing educational opportunities.

Key resolutions of education policy 1986.

  • Operation blackboard was launched by NPE in 1986 to expand primary education nationwide. That’s why the NPE 1986 was known as the child-centered approach.
  • Make provision for the employment of teachers from sc, st, and background.
  • Expand scholarships to encourage pupils.
  • Promote adult education as well as introduce open universities. [ IGNOU in 1985 ]
  • Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, mid-day meal scheme, Navodaya Vidyalaya [NVS] Kendriya Vidyalaya,[KVS] and use of information and technology in education started by the NPE 1986. 6. A national curriculum framework should be developed nationwide.
  • It recommends strengthening institutions of national importance like UGC, NCERT, etc.

 National education policy 1992.

This education is a modification of the old policy of 1986. This policy was implemented in 1992 by the government of P.V. Narasimha Rao. It was based on the ram Murthi commission led by chairperson Sri. Janardhan Reddy.

Important points of education policy 1992.

  1. To accept +2 level as part of school education.
  2.  Greater emphasis was given to Samagra Shaksharta Abhiyan.
  3. Operation blackboard as three classrooms and three teachers and should implement in upper primary classes.
  4. This was also recognized as a common minimum program in 2005.
  5.  Adding a common entrance exam for the professional and technical programs.

India had four different education strategies up until this point, each of which was distinct in its own way. The government of Indira Gandhi deserves credit for the education strategy because she took the initiative and introduced the country’s first-ever education plan. Every policy, nevertheless, has many benefits, and we hope the students will take use of them. Education is the manifestation of perfection already existent in man, according to Swami Vivekananda. The manifestation of a person’s innate religious nature is their divinity.

The Doctrine Of Karma

The origin of the word ‘karma’ maybe traced back to the Sanskrit root ‘kru’ meaning activity. The ‘karma’ is essential for the attainment of moksha. The basic philosophy of karma relates to the performer of karma, the circumstances under which action is done, the results or reaction of karma and inspirations lasing to karma. The references about karma theory are found in our Upanishads.

The doctrine of Karma is so deeply rooted in Hindu social setup that it is considered the ethical background of Hindu social organization. Every action of human beings enetes some results which affects and influences the course of his future life. This is known as karmaphal. The philosophy of karma establishes a close relationship between karma and soul on one hand and soul and re- birth on the other. As long as the accumulated effect, the good deeds and the bad deeds of a person, does not lead to purification and the karmas of a person are not up to the expectation of Dharma, the soul will continue to take pain and rebirth. The good deeds of the man will get him moksha or nirvana whereas his bad deeds will not enable him to attain moksha.

The doctrine of Karma is based on the following beliefs and assumptions:

  1. Definite Result: Every action has some reactions in one way or the other. Every good action will be rewarded and the bad action will never go unpunished.
  2. Indestructibility: The results of karma can never be destructed. The present life is the result of punishments and rewards of the past life. No one can destroy the effects of action because these are immortal.
  3. Necessity of Rebirth: Man cannot free himself from the consequences of his actions. Such consequences of his karma do not leave him even after his death. It is his past deeds that necessitates him to take birth again and again.
  4. Belief in immortality of self: The doctrine believes that the soul is immortal. The body may decay and turn the soul into ashes, but the soul survives. As destined to face the consequences of his deeds, the self or jiva enters a new body, after the death of the previous one.
  5. Determination of general condition of life: The difference with respect to prosperity and poverty, success and failure, happiness and grief and various amenities of people in the present life are believed to be the results of their good or bad performances in the past.
  6. Supremacy of Karma: The doctrine considers man as the maker of is own destiny. Theory of Karmaphal believes that every karma (action) has its own results (phal). Thus, there is no action which goes without its results.
  7. Karma Vipak: Karma is unlimited. It always moves in circular path. Therefore, it is continuous and never ending. It survives not only after death but even after the death of this universe.

The doctrine is karma is viewed as an important part of Hindu social setup. The doctrine inspires the good actions of the people in form of rewards in this as well as the afterlife. It also gives inspiration to man to attain a moral life and preaches self control.

TAKING CARE OF PERSONAL HYGIENE

BY: VAIBHAVI MENON

“Life is short so don’t risk it.” We know how important personal hygiene is, as keeping our body, hands and hair clean can stop the spread of germs and illnesses. Personal hygiene is defined by the practices you take to look after your physical health to avoid diseases by maintaining a certain level of personal cleanliness. It is a key element in our daily routines to live a healthy life. Thorough out our whole life a bunch of people or maybe even ourselves get diseases which could be life threatening and usually people consider the main reason for this to be not getting access to something and being careless about your surroundings. What they don’t know is that hygiene plays a very important part in not getting in contact with these diseases. For example during this ongoing pandemic, most people catch the virus because they don’t take the proper precautions like sanitizing yourself or wearing masks. Therefore taking care of your personal hygiene is a very important thing to do if you want to lead a healthy life.

Few basic ways in which we can maintain personal hygiene could be through simple activities like taking a shower atleast once a day, brushing your teeth twice a day, making sure to floss your teeth, applying deodorant to avoid foul smell, washing your body with soap, cutting your nails, washing your hair properly thrice a week, making sure your face is clean before going to sleep, wearing comfortable clothing, changing your pillowcases once a week, cleaning your phone screen to remove it of any bacteria, wearing a mask, carrying sanitizers, washing your hands with proper techniques, covering your mouth while sneezing your coughing, applying sunscreen even if you aren’t going out, putting on perfume or body mists. It is important to change sanitary products regularly and to wash the hands before and after changing tampons, pads, or any other sanitary products. As vaginas are self-cleaning, using soap to clean the vagina can cause an imbalance of its natural bacteria and lead to infections. The vulva (the external part of the vagina) should only need cleaning once a day using a mild soap and water. People with an uncircumcised penis can clean it by gently pulling back the foreskin and washing underneath it with warm water or soap. If you can’t remember to do things like shower, wash your hair, clip your nails, or brush your teeth, set a reminder on your phone. The cue will push you to the activity, and over time, you’ll begin to do it yourself. Hang a reminder in the bathroom to wash your hands after using the toilet. Put a little sign by the plates or bowls in the kitchen to cue yourself to wash your hands before eating. These signs can help jog your memory and improve your habits.

Therefore maintaining personal hygiene is beneficial for you and your own health and it’s considered one way of helping you in having a healthy and safe life.

Mental Health- still a taboo?

Just because no one else can heal or do your inner work for you, doesn’t mean you can, should or need to do it alone.

Lisa Olivero

Have you ever felt the stark desire to inevitably scream in a room full of people, hoping they just care enough to notice the signs you have been leaving regarding your deteriorating mental state and how desperately you need help? But instead, you just accept your solitude in an empty chair and try to repress your bottled-up emotions deep within the realms of your consciousness.

A lot of us might have gone through the same situation at a certain point in our lives. The primary reason behind this subconscious aversion to the expression of thoughts is the mere fact that humans have been conditioned to do so throughout their lives. Men are typically the most vulnerable victims of this detrimental mindset. From an early age, they are frequently instructed to not cry like a girl. According to a survey, a significant percentage of men in the nation are currently depressed, and they themselves admitted that they lack a support system.

Mental health is still a deeply rooted stigma that people aren’t ready to accept. In order to understand the concept one needs to broaden the perspective of understanding humans and follow certain ways like-

  1. Instead of asking,”How are you?” ask,” How are you, really?”
  2. Look for obvious signs in a person- whether they feeling low from abnormal no. of days.
  3. Asking your closed ones to describe their day in detail and be a good listener.
  4. Do not mistreat someone who is already going through some sort of trauma.
  5. Treat people with kindness, you never know what someone is going through.

Additionally, in India, therapists continue to be overlooked as a useful resource for treating a person’s mental health. A person is called a “lunatic” if they see a therapist. In light of the increased public awareness during the pandemic’s lockdown time, these issues are being explored on social media, and many people now see psychology as a crucial component of the educational system. People have now started considering mental health as being equally essential as physical health as because of an alarming spike in suicide incidents during this period.
Still, awareness needs to be assured at ground level and there is still a long way to go to see the day when all of us are not reluctant to lend a helping hand to our fellow humans.

A fundamental aspect of any society should be understanding, accepting, and embracing each and every emotion one feels which makes them human.

IMPORTANCE OF SEX EDUCATION

BY: VAIBHAVI MENON

“Everyone has bodies, right? It’s nothing to be ashamed of.” Sex education is the instruction of issues relating to human sexuality, including emotional relations and responsibilities, human sexual anatomy, sexual activity, sexual reproduction, age of consent, reproductive health, reproductive rights, safe sex, birth control and sexual abstinence. Sex Education is something that should be taught to individuals from a young age. Due to it being a sensitive topic not a lot of people are comfortable learning or teaching the subject because of which much importance isn’t given and this causes negative effects. Most people get aware of the word “sex” during their teen years but they dont get proper education on it and that negatively impacts their life. Sex education talks about protection from diseases like STD’s which could range from AIDS TO HIV, how to avoid teen pregnancies through different methods such as surgical methods or physical methods.

In India especially, enough significance is not given cause unwanted pregnancies or getting a disease. Therefore Evidence-based sexual health education can improve academic success; prevent dating violence, and bullying; help youth develop healthier relationships; delay sexual initiation; reduce unplanned pregnancy, HIV, and other STIs.  Evidence-based sexual health education reduces sexual risk behavior by delaying sexual initiation, reducing pregnancy and STIs, and increasing contraceptive use thereby protecting student health. There’s nothing simple about teaching kids about sex. In these times of precocious pre-teens, pregnancy among teenagers, and sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), children and adolescents need much more than a one-time chat about the birds and the bees. Pregnancy prevention and safe sex really should be ongoing, age-appropriate topics. Ideally, children will get all of the information they need at home from their parents, but school should also be an important source of information. Research has shown time and time again that abstinence-only education doesn’t work. Over the past 20 years, numerous studies have consistently demonstrated that teaching comprehensive sex education in schools doesn’t have the downside most people are afraid of. In other words, providing condoms in schools doesn’t encourage adolescents to start having sex earlier, or even more often. Having those condoms available does seem to encourage teens to use them, but only if they would be having sex anyway. Only 20 states require sex and HIV education be taught in schools. Sex is a fundamental part of being human; but less than half of our states require sex and HIV education, and most of what is taught is sub-par. Just because we refuse to talk about sex doesn’t mean it’s just going to go away. Only 20 states require sex and HIV education be taught in schools. Sex is a fundamental part of being human; but less than half of our states require sex and HIV education, and most of what is taught is sub-par. Just because we refuse to talk about sex doesn’t mean it’s just going to go away. Sex education is important. It’s been proven time and time again. We know students who receive formal sex education in schools are shown to first have sexual intercourse later than students who have not had sex education. Sex education does not encourage teenagers to have sex, it does quite the opposite. Every teenager should have sex education incorporated into their schooling. It shouldn’t be opt-in or opt-out but mandatory. Why should parents be able to opt their children in or out of a subject that they’ll need later in life, one way or another?

Sex education should be mandatory, comprehensive, medically accurate, and taught throughout student’s school years, just like math. It’s been shown to help students, not hurt. Not only is having access to sex education that is not only comprehensive but medically accurate a human right; it’s our fundamental duty as a society to educate the next generation. Currently, we are failing.

Financial Literacy – Its components and significance

Financial literacy is the possession of the set of skills and knowledge that allows an individual to make informed and effective decisions with all of their financial resources. Raising interest in personal finance is now a focus of state-run programs in countries including Australia, Canada, Japan, the United States and the United Kingdom. Understanding basic financial concepts allows people to know how to navigate in the financial system. People with appropriate financial literacy training make better financial decisions and manage money better than those without such training.

The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) started an inter-governmental project in 2003 with the objective of providing ways to improve financial education and literacy standards through the development of common financial literacy principles. In March 2008, the OECD launched the International Gateway for Financial Education, which aims to serve as a clearinghouse for financial education programs, information and research worldwide. In the UK, the alternative term “financial capability” is used by the state and its agencies: the Financial Services Authority (FSA) in the UK started a national strategy on financial capability in 2003. The US Government established its Financial Literacy and Education Commission in 2003.

Components of Financial Literacy :

There are five core competencies of financial literacy: Earning, Saving and Investing, Spending, Borrowing, and Protecting.

Earning –

“Earning” refers to bringing money home from a job, self-employment, or return on various investments. Most individuals earn money via employment in the form of a paycheck. The average employee pays between 28-30% of their gross income in taxes and other deductions before receiving their net income or take-home income. It is extremely important to understand gross versus net in a paycheck, in addition to understanding the federal, state and local individual income tax imposed on citizens and residents of the country.

Saving and Investing –

“Saving” and “Investing” deals with the understanding of financial institutions and services available to you. First of all, you should have a saving and a checking account to manage your own financial transactions. Start SAVING EARLY and PAY YOURSELF FIRST to help you understand the concept that saved money grows over time which also leads you to explore long-term investments for retirement planning.

Spending –

“Spending” is probably the most important concept because it is a personal reflection of your values, lifestyle, and your financial behavior. Differentiating between NEEDS and WANTS is the basic concept of controlling spending.  Budgeting is the most powerful and impact-full tool you can adopt to control spending to allow for saving and investing.

Borrowing –

“Borrowing”is acquiring debt to create assets. Most students have to borrow student loans to finance their educational goals, and with a financial plan for repayment, they can turn this investment in their education to their advantage. Mortgages or loans to buy homes are another form of borrowing or acquiring debt to create assets.  Business loans to create self-employment opportunity or build a business, and real estate investments, are also good examples of how borrowed money can be turned into assets and wealth accumulation.

Protecting –

“Protecting” deals with insurance, ID theft, and retirement planning. The idea is to stay protected at all levels in your life; on personal, health, and social levels. You will need to understand risk management, insurance coverage, identity theft protection, fraud, and scams, in order to master self and family financial protection in life.

Significance of Financial Literacy :

Financial Literacy helps in improving the financial knowledge of individuals. It brings clarity on basic financial concepts and principles such as compound interest, debt management, financial planning etc. It enables you to manage your personal finances efficiently. It helps in making appropriate financial decisions about investing, saving, insurance, managing debts, buying a house, child education, retirement planning etc. It helps individuals to achieve financial stability and financial freedom. It helps in understanding the difference between assets and liabilities. It helps in developing the skill sets required for better financial planning and managing your money. It provides in-depth knowledge on financial education and strategies which are indispensable for achieving financial growth and success. It helps you in generating, managing, saving, spending and investing money. It enables you to be debt free by inculcating financial knowledge and debt strategies.

In India, Financial Literacy has still not become a priority like other developed nations. Lack of basic financial knowledge results in poor investments and financial decisions. That’s why most people invest in short-term plans and physical assets to accomplish their personal goals which give lesser benefits and does not help in the economic development of the country. According to a global survey, about a staggering 76% of Indian adults do not understand basic financial concepts and are unfortunately financially illiterate even today. The survey confirms the financial literacy rate in India has been consistently poor as compared to the rest of the world. It is indeed high time for a developing country like India to realise the importance of financial literacy as such poor financial literacy rate can prove to be a major setback to India’s ambition of becoming an economic superpower in the coming years.

Financial Literacy has become one of the topmost priorities for most nations today as understanding basic financial concepts allows people to manage their wealth in a more organized way which in turn helps in the economic growth of the nation. It is proved that people with appropriate financial education and knowledge make better financial planning and makes the most of the available financial resources for maximum benefit. In the United States of America, financial literacy was initiated way back in 1908 by the American Credit Union Movement. In 1957, financial education was made mandatory by the state of Nevada and then other states followed. Australia also provides financial literacy education through customised programs. Singapore and Indonesia are among few of the Asian countries who have started this initiative and have taken the first step towards Financial Literacy.

Importance of talking.

we humans are no super heroes, we are blessed with various things like ability to help people, emotional intelligence, gut feelings so on and so forth

But we can’t read minds- right?

there’s a gap between your and others brain every brain works differently and to bridge that gap you have to be vocal and be clear

Set the expectations make yourself heard loud and clear as worst case scenario if things don’t work out you have your satisfaction that you were vocal and you can end things peacefully.

transparency is the key – be transparent so that the people can in act and interact with you.

If you are an introvert, then for you I will suggest that speaking in mind is never gonna help you but I will always put you in a situation where you find yourself uncomfortable. So, atleast talk little bit and if not then Stop filling gap and also thinking to fill the gap. That way you can lead a good way.

Digital Marketing

We live in an age of digitalization, where you can see the expanded and improved forms of modern marketing. So, I don’t think it’s unfair to say that Marketing has always been about interacting with the customers in the right place at the same moment. Now, this means you ought to find them where they’re already investing time: on the internet.

So now what digital marketing is? It encompasses all the marketing aspects where different kinds of web channels are used to connect to the audience whether it’s a search engine, social media, or other sites.

Role of digital marketing in a company

Digital media is important at this point for the company and brand recognition. This appears like every single company has a website. Even if they don’t, they have at least a voice in social media or a digital advertising campaign. Digital advertising and marketing are so popular that customers today trust and rely on it as a way to learn about products.

Long story short, to be successful as a company owner, you ‘re going to need to accept certain elements of digital marketing.

Since digital marketing has so many opportunities and methods, you can get innovative and play with a range of budget marketing techniques. For digital media, you can also use tools and analytics dashboards to track your campaign ‘s progress and ROI rather than you do for conventional advertising content — such as banners or print advertisements.

Responsibilities of a digital marketer

Digital marketing is characterized by the use of a wide variety of interactive strategies and platforms to communicate with consumers where they spend the majority of their time: online. Including the website itself to the internet promotional tools of the business — internet advertising, email marketing, electronic brochures, and beyond — there is a variety of strategies that come within the umbrella of “digital marketing.”

The strongest digital marketers have a good vision of how every digital marketing strategy meets their overall goals. So based on the goals of their marketing plan, advertisers may endorse a wider effort through free so paying platforms at their fingertips.

For example, a digital marketer may produce a series of blog posts to generate leads from a new ebook that the company has just developed. The company’s social media marketer will also continue to spread these blog posts by paid and organic content on the company’s social media pages. Maybe the digital marketer is developing a digital plan to give more information about the business to those who purchase the ebook. Within a minute, we’ll learn more about these unique digital marketers.

Types of digital marketing

Here I have forged some digital marketing tactics.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO):

Search Engine Optimization or SEO is a simple activity to ensure that the website can be found in search engines for words and phrases that are relevant to what the website offers. It’s simply quality control for websites in many respects. Having said that, if there’s ever been an industry that’s least known by outsiders, it’s SEO.

It’s a process of understanding the customers ‘ problems and the search terms they use when looking for solutions online. Once that’s developed, SEO becomes about implementing proven methods for presenting the information in a way that makes it appear higher in the search engine results pages or SERPs.

It’s not just about providing information about the products and services you offer; it’s about understanding the problems that your ideal customers need to solve.

Businesses who understand this and produce valuable content can get the best search engine reviews, inquiries, and web purchases.

You can learn SEO by using one of the many excellent SEO training tutorials available online. Our favorite is the one given by Moz.

Marketing in Social Media

This practice promotes your brand and content on social media platforms to increase brand recognition, drive traffic, and create leads for your company. The platforms that can be used in social media marketing include:

Facebook

Twitter.

LinkedIn

Instagram

Snapchat.

Pinterest.

If you’re new to social media, you can use resources like HubSpot to connect networks like LinkedIn and Facebook to one place. This way, you can conveniently plan content on several platforms at once and track data from the app as well.

Content Marketing

This term denotes the production and promotion of digital assets to create awareness of the brand, traffic growth, lead generation, and consumers. The platforms that can play a part in your content marketing campaign include:

Blog posts: Writing and publishing articles on a company blog let you show your industry expertise and attract organic search traffic for your business. In the end, this gives you more chances to turn website visitors to sales team leads.

Ebooks and whitepapers: ebooks, whitepapers, and related long-form materials aim to better inform website users.

It also allows you to exchange material for the contact information of the reader, to generate leads for your client, and to move people through the purchaser’s path.

Infographics: Sometimes, readers want you to show up, not tell them. Infographic is a form of visual content that helps website visitors visualize a concept that you want to help them learn.

Marketing Automation

Marketing Automation refers to the software that is used to automate your basic marketing operations. Many marketing teams can automate routine activities that they may otherwise have performed manually, such as:

Email newsletters: Email automation does not allow you to automatically send emails to your subscribers. It can also help you shrink and expand your contact list as needed so that your newsletters will only go to people who want to see them in their inboxes.

Social media post-scheduling: If you want to increase the presence of your organization on the social network, you need to post frequently. This causes manual posting to be a bit of an unruly operation. Social media programming tools push your content to your social media channels so that you can spend more time focusing on content strategy.

Lead-nutrition workflows: generating leads and converting leads to customers can be a long process. You will simplify this process by submitting leads to different addresses and material until they fulfill those requirements, such as when installing and opening an ebook.

Campaign monitoring and reporting: Marketing campaigns can include a ton of people, emails, videos, blogs, phone calls, and more. Marketing automation can help you sort everything you’re working on through the campaign it’s serving, and then track the campaign ‘s performance based on the progress all of these components have made over time.

E-mail Communications

Organizations use email marketing as a means of communicating with their customers. Email is often used to promote content, discounts, and events, as well as to direct people to the website of the company. The types of emails that you might send to an email marketing campaign include:

1.Website email subscription.

2. Follow up emails to website visitors who have downloaded something.

3. Customer, please welcome emails.

4.Holiday promotions to members of the Loyalty Program.

5.Tips or a related sequence of emails for customer service.

Inbound marketing

Inbound marketing refers to a marketing approach in which you attract, engage, and delight customers at every point of the purchaser’s journey. You should use any of the above-mentioned digital marketing tactics, throughout an inbound marketing strategy, to create a customer experience that operates for, not against, the client. Here are some classical examples of inbound marketing and traditional marketing:

Blogging vs. Popup Ads

Audio ads vs. radio advertising;

Email contact list vs. email spam

This series can surely include a lot more but these are some basic and easy to learn skills which a beginner will perhaps found interesting. You should give at least one of them a try.

Lately, there are several buzzes that digital marketing workers have higher salaries than in other sectors. With increasing competition, the need to consider the average salary of a digital marketing professional in India is more important than ever. But is it fair that digital advertisers are paying more than people working in other fields? Okay, one thing is certain that the market is experiencing a revolution now, as never before. Digital marketing is here to stay and the need will only increase in the future as more companies are looking to take the digital route.

According to YourStory’s recent report, the digital marketing industry is growing at 40% year-on-year, compared to 5-6% growth in other industries. Moreover, today’s start-ups are considering internet ads a more competitive alternative than most other mainstream media.

With small, medium, big, and old and new companies using digital channels to develop their presence, demand for digital marketing is increasing at a steady rate. With every business struggling for digital supremacy, the pressure on digital marketing agencies is increasing because they need to address different requirements. So there’s no better time than now to sign up for a digital marketing plan.

PLANNING- process and importance

WHAT IS PLANNING?????
Planning is a common term which focuses on pre deciding the things which we have to do later. Not only deciding the things but also planning includes thinking of the ways by which we can complete a particular plan successfully. It is an important parameter of the management and we need to plan things in the every sphere of life so that we can go on accordingly. Planning is the combination of creativity and innovation. Planning is done to perform any task effectively and efficiently so that there is no hurdle between the complete process of the task which we wish to perform. In the business world, it is said that planning acts as a bridge to reach the position where we wish to reach.
STEPS OF PLANNING
Planning is not an easy task rather it is a combination of several steps. The complete process of planning has been divided into 7 different steps which are mentioned below –

  1. To set objectives i.e. to decide where we aim to reach. It is basically aiming the destination. Every organization has some targets and thus has to complete them so setting objectives is the first and important step of the planning process.
  2. To develop premises i.e. to set assumptions. No work is completed without a risk and assuming things. So premises are basically assuming what can be done. So making those assumptions is the next step.
  3. To identify alternative courses of action is the third step i.e. once the objective has been set and assumptions have been made, then it is the time to identify and think the proper course of actions which must be performed to reach that particular aim.
  4. To evaluate alternative course i.e. to think of the advantages and disadvantages of each course of action and to find what alternative can work for it if that would not happen.
  5. The next step is to select the best alternative which would be suitable according to our aim. The best plan is adapted and implemented.
  6. The next step is to implement the actual plan which has been thought of yet. This is the step where actually planned course of actions take place and where actually the work is done by the individuals.
  7. The next and final step of the process of planning is to follow-up the actions. In this step all the validation and verification occurs that whether the planned process is going on with the same flow or not. Also it is seen that whether the plan needs any change or it should go on like that only.

IMPORTANCE OF PLANNING

  1. Planning tends to reduce the uncertainty of occurring a process.
  2. It is very essential to provide a proper direction to the plan.
  3. Planning helps to promote innovative ideas and thus the planned work is done more efficiently.
  4. Planning helps in decision-making and dividing the equal amount of work to each individual of the group or team.
  5. Planning reduces confusion at any level of the process.
  6. Planning helps in setting some goals and thus an organization does better work.

COORDINATION IN AN ORGANIZATION

Coordination is the process of synchronizing the activities and works of different departments of an organization to show and ensure the unity and group or team work. Coordination allows the company to progress because obviously a team can work better than an individual. It helps in maintaining harmony and balance between the works in an organization. A group maintains a balance and thus provides proper quality work to its organization. It is basically a force that binds all the management functions. Coordination helps in running the various things in an organization such as purchase, production, sales and finance. Any organization with the coordination gives better results than others. Coordination is referred as the essence of management because it is sometimes considered as a separate function of management. Coordination is essential in maintaining the harmony among individuals working together so that everyone gets the praise for the part of work they have done. To elaborate that coordination is not a separate function, rather it is the part of the management, it can be seen in different parts which can be also said as the stages of coordination –

  1. Planning is the first stage of coordinating in which the top management decides what and how to execute the complete work.
  2. Next is the organizing step, in which the organizational plans are actually organized as per planning.
  3. Third stage is staffing which is performed after the plans are organized.
  4. Next stage of coordination is directing in which plans which are organized and staffed are actually executed.
  5. Last and final stage of coordination is controlling in which all the activities which are newly executed are controlled so that no confusion and problem occurs.

WHY IS COORDINATION IMPORTANT?????
The need for coordination in an organization arises due to following reasons –

  1. Growth in size of organization i.e. as the organization grows, number of employees increases and thus to manage more number of individuals there is a need of coordination.
  2. Functional differentiation in an organization i.e. different departments of an organization need to be coordinated for better management.
  3. Specialization in the people of organization may lead to discrimination due to which coordination is necessary.

CHARACTERISTICS OF COORDINATION

  1. Coordination tends to integrate different individual efforts in the form of a group.
  2. Coordination ensures and protects unity of actions and binds all the individuals of the departments of the organization.
  3. Coordination is a continuous process i.e. it never stops and goes on like management. It starts at the planning stage and continues till controlling stage. It can never stop if the organization needs to work better and gain popularity.
  4. Coordination like management, is all pervasive i.e. it is universal and is required at each level and in each department of the organization. It is basically a binding force, which can never stop.
  5. Coordination is the responsibility of managers i.e. all the head departments are responsible for coordinating to other departments because in the first stage of coordination which is planning, higher authorities are required.
