cry.

I have always felt slightly bad about not really having cried for decades. People insist that crying is good for you and that not crying is bad for you. The danger is, you might be going to explode some day from repressed grief (watch this space).

And of course in the counselling side of my life I am supposed to consider it a Very Bad Thing if people don’t cry. So I was pleased to see some of the orthodox views on crying disputed by Dutch psychologist Ad Vingerhoets in an interview with The Psychologist. He specialises in the psychology of crying.

Do people feel better after a good cry? Not necessarily, says Vingerhoets. Some feel bad. It helps if other people respond to tears with support but if crying is ignored or disapproved of the crier can end up feeling worse.

Women cry more often than men. Essentially, he says, women cry in situations that make men swear. These include computer crashes, car breakdowns and feeling frustrated or angry. So if you’re female and Vingerhoets’ statement makes you angry, prove him wrong by swearing.

Some Indian tribes, he says, use crying instead of shaking hands as a means of greeting – since I’ve never heard of them before I assume these tribes are obscure and it’s not hard to see why.

You are most likely to cry in the presence of your mother or your romantic partner or another “attachment figure” to use the psychological jargon. Thus, children who are hurt physically or emotionally will sometimes hold off the tears until they get to a parent and then they let them out.

The idea of tears as a sign of weakness seems to have been introduced by the Victorians.

What about tears of happiness? Vingerhoets doesn’t believe people cry because they’re happy. Usually we cry because the happy event also calls up negative emotions, he suggests. An example is crying when you meet a loved one after a long separation. That’s a happy event but the tears come with the accompanying realisation of the pain of the separation.

What mostly makes people cry is “conflict, rejection, criticism and minor failure”. Frustration and helplessness also bring on crying.

If I can’t produce real tears I would certainly have no hope of turning on crocodile tears. People who are really good at this, according to Vingerhoets, include narcissists, psychopaths and actors.

Tears usually lead other people to feel empathy and to want to lend support, which is why narcissists and psychopaths use them to manipulate. It only works, naturally, if people think they’re genuine – and since psychopaths are really good at turning on the charm they can make very good use of tears.

Very empathic people are more likely to cry themselves in response to the tears of others.

you are not too fucking sensitive. period.

You, the people who dare to say to your families that you want something different; that you want love; that you want connection?

You are not too (fucking) sensitive.

You, the people who cry when someone is unkind to you? When someone judges you? When someone finds ways to put you down? When that someone is a family member or friend or partner?

You are not too (fucking) sensitive.

You, the people who are committed enough to changing old patterns that once people switch from outright condemnation to passive-aggressive snarck, you actually call them out?

You are not too (fucking) sensitive.

You, the people who say something when they hear someone say “That’s so gay” or “How retarded” or calling women “bitches” as is if it’s a term of affection or making generalizations about a person of color?

You are not too (fucking) sensitive.

You, the people who hug trees, recycle toilet paper rolls, and cry at the sight of birds bathed in oil after BP blows a rig?

You are not too (fucking) sensitive.

Let me tell you who you actually are:
When you ask your families to engage with you in a way that is loving and connected, you are asking everyone to rise and live bigger. You are engaged with connection.

(Note: the trick is to take responsibility for yourself, and not get attached to controlling/changing their behavior).

When you cry because someone who says they love you is treating you unkindly, you’re feeling the pain of disconnection from other human beings, and this means that you are not a desensitized sociopath. It means you’re a functioning human being who has not cut themselves off from what they feel.

(Note: the trick is to take responsibility for yourself, and not get attached to controlling/changing their behavior).

When you are committed enough to respectful relationships that you draw a clear boundary and you enforce it, including communicating those times where it seems like something passive-aggressive is happening, you are practicing this thing called “self-respect.”

(Note: the trick is to take responsibility for yourself, and not get attached to controlling/changing their behavior).

When you decide to speak up against discrimination, bigotry, and slurs, you’re taking a stand for your values as well as asking others to think about how their words, their “harmless jokes,” might contribute to a collective experience of oppression.

(Note: the trick is to take responsibility for yourself, and not get attached to controlling/changing their behavior).

When your heart aches at the destruction of the planet, you’re exercising compassion, connection, and a deep desire for life to thrive.

(Note: the trick is to take responsibility for yourself, and not get attached to controlling/changing the outcome).

So do you get it?
You’re not too (fucking) sensitive. You’re engaged. Connected. Human. Awake. Alive.

The people accusing you of being too (fucking) sensitive? They’re disconnected.

A moment of compassion for all of us, please.

We’ve all been there. We all have our moments of thinking that someone else’s needs or preferences are just too precious, and judging the hell out of them.

Let’s not polarize into an us/them.

But truly–celebrate your sensitivity. Those who are sensitive are those who are also paying attention. It speaks to the potential for a radiant love within. A deep love within, combined with a willingness to take positive action, is the only thing that has ever revolutionized the world.

Thank you for being so (fucking) sensitive.

A letter to my younger self.

Remember when you thought 40 was so old? Good news, you’re not ready for the Smithsonian yet. Helpful hint: you are going to need a magnifying mirror to do your makeup at 40 otherwise you will end up leaving the house looking like a clown.

Remember when we thought when we were 40 we would have life all figured out? Well we were wrong. Life is a series of lessons that will mold you into a better person. Growing up there will be fear and anxiety, a lot of it. There will also be massive amounts of joy and triumph. Stop wasting time worrying about fitting in. Stop spending so much money on hair spray. For the love of creatures please stop with the Aqua Net. Once you toss that gigantic can of Aqua Net you will realize it’s true you CAN dance in the rain and not have sticky gross hair. Please don’t waste anymore time worrying if you’re too fat or too skinny. You are perfect just the way you are. An intelligent, confident female is beautiful regardless of her appearance and size.

Eventually you will be able to have a phone with you all the time and you will have this device called a smart phone. That’s right, the phone will no longer be attached to the wall and you won’t need to have a really long cord on your telephone. Even better, you will no longer have to hide in the pantry when talking to your friends on the phone. I know it’s weird. On your smart phone you will have all sorts of technology. Please use it wisely. This thing called social media will happen and it will blow your mind. You have an even weirder thing called a “status” and people will know where you are and what you are thinking depending on what you type in the status bar. You can even post photos of yourself or your food. Brace yourself, people will begin posting photos of everything they are about to eat. But it won’t be McDonald’s because society becomes very health conscious. Eat all the bread you can now because when you get older the entire world will tell you that carbs are bad. Relax, we aren’t going to stop eating pasta.

There’s also this thing called a “selfie.” You can take a selfie with your phone. That’s right. The smartphone you will take every place will even have a camera. So throw away your pink Le Clic camera and get with the times! Young people post selfies all the time. Sometimes they even do it while getting dressed in the bathroom and forget to close the top of the toilet or the shower curtain. Gross, I know. Sometimes they get a little too revealing. Please do this responsibly. The internet never forgets. Someday you will go job hunting and you don’t want a potential employer to not hire you because of endless bathroom selfies. I could go on and on about the internet, but I will tell you to use your words wisely when posting. Always be mindful when speaking to others.

Your life is an incredible blessing and a journey. One which you will fall in love with when you realize God is in control and you finally stop to smell the roses and enjoy the ride.

Below are some of the lessons learned along the way:

You are not everyone’s cup of tea and that’s okay.
Your sense of humor is what keeps you strong during the tough times.
You don’t always have to have the last word; sometimes silence is the best response to quiet a fool.
Every relationship has a purpose that helps us grow and become stronger. The most challenging relationships teach us about forgiveness and patience.
As long as you have Mom and Dad you will always have a place to call home.
No relationship is worth your self respect.
Mom and Dad will not be here forever. Cherish them.
You can actually hold Mom’s hand in public without people thinking you’re her girlfriend.
Mom will be your best friend when you grow up and you will want to be just like her.
Dad remains your real life super hero, even when he is no longer alive.
You do not know everything. Listen. Be alert. People want to teach you things, they want you to evolve into a successful adult. No one likes a know it all.
Accept yourself as God made you. Stop trying to be what you’re not, be true to yourself because God does not make mistakes.
Try not to take things personally; what people say about you is a reflection of their own insecurities.
If you don’t completely love the person you see in the mirror, you will never truly be happy or successful.
Love yourself, be proud of who you are.
Growing up you will experience a mix of emotions. They will be confusing. You will experience pain and sorrow. You will also experience unconditional love and support. You will be betrayed and your heart will be broken. You will also experience times when you are so sad you can’t lift your head off the pillow. Times when you are certain that the sounds of your breaking heart are deafening to others. I’m not going to lie, those times are really going to hurt, but there will be countless moments of joy and gratification that make your entire world light up. It is important to trust your journey. You have a magnificent life ahead of you. The road will not always be easy but I can promise you it will be an incredible journey with so many exquisite blessings along the way. When life gets tough, always remember you are a beautiful diamond that shines bright in a world where people have as many preferences as they have types of precious gemstones. Never forget that.

Love,

Your older, wiser self

Ten traits of a classic bibliophile/bookworm.

when I moved from Igatpuri a countryside to nashik in the city two years ago – a journey of about 19 miles i knew i had to pack light , so i sold out everything in my room my furniture some antique wall hangings my hammock chair and everything was left out which wasnt a complete daily essential to me . but people i packed 15 huge boxes of books and transported them ( payed an hefty amount).I could live without a workstation/ study table for a while – but my books were a different story.

Hello, My name is Jigeesha Banerjee, and I am a bibliophile , perhaps you are familiar with that life.

The word “bibliophile” literally means a lover (phile) of books (biblio). The term is often thrown around to refer to people who simply like to read, but in its most precise interpretation, “bibliophile” means something more specific: someone who loves books particularly—how they look, how they smell, what they feel like. Of course, most bibliophiles are great readers, collecting (OK, hoarding) books in part because they love the narratives in them. But they also value books as fascinating objects in themselves, objects with their own stories to tell. These are readers who will never really be satisfied with electronic books—how can a cold iPad screen possibly compare to a tattered, musty, well-loved print book? To find out if you are one of those blessed with (or suffering from, depending on you point of view) bibliophilia, read on.

  1. You have both a permanent copy and a loaner copy of your favorite books

Certain books—ones I’ve read over and over since I was a teenager—have enormous personal value to me. Of course, I want to share these wonderful, formative reading experiences with other people. But other people are jerks sometimes! What if I lend a friend a book and she dog-ears the pages? What if she breaks the spine? WHAT IF SHE LOSES IT? So I have my copy, and a loaner copy, and everyone is happy. All perfectly normal, right?

  1. You judge other people according to the books they have
Oh, come on. We all do it. Actually, I don’t judge people so much by what books they have as by whether they own books or not. I don’t care what people read, but someone who doesn’t have any books is probably an orc and cannot be trusted.
  2. You spend way to much time thinking about book organization

My books are organized according to an intricate system that is so logical that only I can understand it. Some are alphabetized, some are categorized according to genre, some are ordered by color.

  1. Used books stores fill you with glee
Used books are the best: they’re cheap, they hold the same texts as newer editions, and sometimes you find amazing evidence of past readers—marginal notes, bookmarks, inscriptions. All tiny glimpses into other people’s lives. Bibliophiles can’t get enough of all of that. More, please.
  2. You view books as actual home decor
    1. Because they are pretty. Spaces always look more interesting, more inviting, and more homey when they are filled with books.
  1. You plan to use them as centerpieces at your wedding (or you already did)

For bibliophiles, books form a major part of one’s personal identity. It’s only natural that you’d want to be surrounded by them on your big day.

  1. Your ultimate fantasy is to have a library in your house, à la Belle in Beauty and the Beast.

Preferably one with a ladder. And yes, you’re going to swing around the room, gesturing grandly, whatever.

  1. You would love to travel far and wide to look at books and the homes of the people who write them

I’ve gone far, far out of my way to visit places like Haworth (home of the Brontë family in West Yorkshire) and Prince Edward Island (home Lucy Maud Montgomery and the Anne books). There is something powerful in seeing where my favorite books were written, and in seeing great authors’ own books. Because, naturally, great writers tend to be bibliophiles themselves.

  1. You own multiple copies of the same books

I have at least four copies of Pride and Prejudice, including a battered paperback edition, a fancy leather-bound edition, a critical edition, and an illustrated edition. And they are all completely necessary to my life.

  1. You spend crazy amounts of money on rare books
One would have to have crazy amounts of money in order to fulfill this criterion, but I think we can assume that whoever spent $11.5 million on a copy of John James Audubon’s Birds of America in 2010 is a pretty hard-core book lover.

My First Solo Trip to Nainital

Nainital, also known as the “City of Lakes,” is magnificent in every sense. The night, my train reached Bareilly, and I stepped out of the station to rent a cab to Nainital. Never had I any idea that a short trip of 3 days could change my whole perspective about traveling. I have always been fond of traveling, but Nainital was my first female solo trip, and the excitement, fear, and thrill juxtaposed all together inside my heart. But, let me tell you, even though the beautiful city is known for the lakes, it is much more than that. Nainital welcomes you with open hands, and trust me when I say this; it is one of the safest cities in India.

Now, I decided I would give you a list of activities you could do in Nainital, and none of them would burn a hole in your pocket. When I left for my solo travel, I only had 7,000 INR with myself, and I saved 3,000 INR, and I am not at all bluffing. The entire trip, excluding the train tickets, cost me 4,000 INR only. So, let’s get started on the list of activities you could do when you visit Nainital:

  • Walk around the City

One thing, I had never experienced before Nainital, was walking around a city leisurely. This was my first time alone, and I had no restrictions on me, which is pretty standard in an Indian household, especially if you are a girl. So, three years back, when I set my feet on the roads of Nainital, it was way into the night. I had my luggage with me, and no outside cars are allowed inside the city premises at night. The cab dropped me on the outskirts, and I started walking without any idea of where to go. I had not booked a hotel yet, and to be honest, I was scared to death to walk alone on the streets. But the moment I came closer to the lake of Nainital, the beauty of the night sky filled with stars, and the reflection on the still water of the lake, I forgot what fear feels like. I was mesmerized by the beautiful sight of the city, and I walked on the streets the whole night. In my opinion, this is the most affordable way to look around the city. Go out and walk around leisurely, the beauty of the town would keep you captivated for a long time.

  • Visit the Mall Road

Walking around the Mall Road was one of the most exciting activities for me. The entire road is always filled up with tourists and local people. There are tiny little shops on one side of the mall. You can buy a souvenir from one of the shops, for cheap. The Mall Road is the busiest place in the city. Every day, I used to walk down the Mall Road at least once, and talk to the people around. The people who live there are incredibly polite and friendly, and you can learn a lot about the city from them.

  • Row Boating at the Naini Lake

If you are in Nainital, you have to visit Naini Lake. The city, Nainital, is named after this particular lake. The lake’s atmosphere is vibrant in the day time, and you can also experience the beautiful silence at night time. Also, it would be best if you experienced row boating at the lake. The ticket is for 200 INR only. I would personally recommend you to visit the lake at night, too. The silence and the night sky make the lake more peaceful at that hour.

  • Visit the Mukteshwar Temple and the Rocks

After my first day at Nainital, I rented a cab with eight other tourists to visit Mukteshwar. I had heard a lot about the temple located at Mukteshwar and planned on visiting it. But, the most spectacular incident took place after I reached my destination. The Mukteshwar Temple was undoubtedly magnificent. But, I started to walk around the temple, and that’s how I found a trail to the most beautiful view I had ever seen. Rocks surrounded the entire place, and you could try rock-climbing, too. I spent the whole afternoon sitting on one of the stones, completely mesmerized by the view in front of me. I witnessed the snow-covered peaks of the mountains in front of me while sipping on a hot cup of tea. At that time, I realized how wonderful it was to be on your own, in an unknown city, with strangers.

  • Go on the Ropeway

On the last day on my solo trip to Nainital, I planned on going up on the ropeway to observe the entire city. Undoubtedly, one of the most extraordinary experiences I had in Nainital is this. You don’t want to miss out on this one. There is always a massive line of travelers waiting to board on the ropeway. It took me a good one hour to finally get my turn, but I completely forgot about pretty much everything when I did.

Nainital is immensely close to my heart. The city has given me a lot more than mere beautiful scenic sites. The town has given me beautiful memories to look back at, and it has taken away my fear of the outside world. The city made me fall in love with being alone and taking risks, even when you might face trouble. Before Nainital, I have been to multiple other cities and towns with my family, but what Nainital gifted me was more than just traveling. If you are a woman who is afraid to go solo or you are anticipating whether to take the trip alone, please do it. There is nothing freer and more peaceful about traveling at your own pace and on your own. To conclude, I would like to quote Jane Austen, “What are men to rocks and mountains?”

MINISO: The Japanese Lifestyle Brand That’s Taking Over India’s Retail Scene

Miniso is a Chinese retailer and designer brand specializes in house goods and cosmetics founded in 2011 by a young Chinese entrepreneur Ye Guofu and co-founded by Japanese Designer Mr. Miyake Junya. It holds a wide range of product categories including cosmetics, home goods, digital accessories, stationery kitchenware and much more under a single hood and it follows the philosophy of “simplicity, nature and good quality”.

WHY IS MINISO ( A 100% CHINESE COMPANY ) PRETENDING AS JAPANESE COMPANY ?

Initially claiming to be a famous Japanese brand, despite operating in Mainland China have no outlets in Japan. Yes this company is pretending. It does not exists in Japan & Korea but openly advertise their flag stores in Japan. There’s another one called Mumuso which I believed it’s same kind of Dollar store claiming to be Korean origin, but not single business address was found from Korea, and you know the irony is Miniso stores plays Japanese pop music.

Miniso has since expanded outside of China and opened over a thousand stores worldwide.

OPERATION IN INDIA

Since throwing its doors open for business with the launch of its very first store in China back in 2013, Miniso may have subtly wriggled its way into the sub-conscious of the average lifestyle shopper in various world countries as the go-to store for all things chic and cheap.

The Indian economy was one of the fastest growing economies in the world. Many American and European brands have dominated the lifestyle industry here and have thrived. Noticing the opportunity and gauging a huge growth potential that the market had to offer Miniso started its operations in India in August 2017, with a total of 26 stores, out of which 21 in Delhi region and 3 in Mumbai, 2 in Lucknow and 1 in Bangalore. The company plans to expand business in India by increasing its footprint across the country. The company aims to open 800 stores by the end of the year.

In two years since its launch in India, Japanese value retailer Miniso has opened 110 stores across 41 cities. The company achieved its annual target of ₹ 700 crore revenue for 2017-18 in India with an average ticket size, which is 1.5 times higher than its other global markets. The company considers India as among the top 5 contributors to its global revenue. Miniso will expand its presence in India through both company-owned model and franchise partners.

INDIAN CUSTOMERS

The Indian consumers are very confident and the good thing is that the customer is very aware and its easy to get feedback.

It is a brand which resonates with simplicity, nature, good quality and affordable prices—products are priced between R75 and R1500, making the brand accessible to everyone. Miniso’s pricing strategy was built keeping in mind the middle and the upper middle class, the youth and Generation Z, with enormous attention being paid to design which is its USP. The products offered by the company cater to various audiences across income groups and interests.

Indians love the most include lifestyle, fashion accessories and health & beauty products as they are the best-sellers, contributing to 65% of Miniso’s total annual sales.

MINISO is a brick-and-mortar-only business model built around the reality of a world with e-commerce and the brand follows a unique aesthetic and takes care of its customers’ needs, managing to do what most online stores cannot: provide a great shopping experience to all its customers.

INDIA IN MINISO’S GLOBAL SCHEME OF THINGS IN FUTURE ?

Miniso considers ‘India is the future’. This future is not just about selling products. One side is of  purchasing products and doing the business from here. Also  India has an advantage because young people here can speak English well which can help them hire more people from India and send them to different countries, different branches. This can be benifitial in terms of employment growth in India

One of the Apple latest update has added a hand wash detector feature to motivate the user to wash their hands properly for 20 seconds amid COVID-19. Washing hands will help to avoid coronavirus transmission that has allegedly stop the world.

In Watcheos 7 apple has added the number of features like sleep tracker, handwashing, new workouts- Apple has added dance, strength functional health workouts in the list, face watches, noise app and many more. Sadly all the features will be compatible with only Apple smartwatch series 3 or later and some features are only compatible with Apple watch series 5. In the time of global crisis, the WHO guidelines focus on the handwashing for about 20 seconds to avoid COVID transmission so many of you might think that due to coronavirus the feature has developed overnight but Apple was working on the handwash feature for years before COVID-19. Apple Kevin Lynch, vice president of technology told that it hand wash detector feature is “years of work”. The apple watch feature is really important these days amid coronavirus. Apple interpreted the handwashing feature as a ‘first-of-its-kind invention for a wearable’ technology that will also merge with the Health app on the iPhone.Even the watch reminds you to hand wash when the user comes back home told by Apple officials at the Worldwide Developer conference 2020 held last week.

The hand wash detector is designed to starts the timer of 20 seconds automatically detecting the user is handwashing. The watch uses the accelerometer which detects the specific handwashing pattern to record whether the user is scrubbing properly or not for 20 seconds, adopting different method using machine learning. If the user doesn’t wash your hands for 20-second, the Apple Watch will poke the wrist, motivating the user to wash hands properly. Along with this, it listens to the sound of the running water. But that’s not enough since eco-sinks have gain wide popularity and ultimately the sound of the tapping water is less and in last it takes care of the sound of squishing soap. The device got an audio signature to confirm that the user has hand-washed. Apple take logs of how many times user wash the hands in the health app. This is not the first kind of smartwatch having this feature. Earlier, Samsung has launched the Galaxy watched app having this feature but user have to manually start the timer. That’s why the apple watch will jump with a big bang in the market.

The feature has contributed to the COVID-19 related initiatives from Apple. The Apple funded $10 million to quickly scale COVID-19 sample collection kit production and the company has donated masks and been a great player in contact trace initiative.

Monument of India : The tajmahal

Tajmahal is one of the seven wonders of the world built with white marbles by mughal emperor shah jahan in the memory of his beloved wife mumtaz mahal. Mumtaz was the second wife of shah jahan, she died while giving birth to their fourteenth child. After her death, shah jahan decided to make a monument in her memory whose construction started in 1632. It is situated near the bank of river Yamuna in Agra city of Uttar Pradesh. The tomb of mumtaz was placed in the tajmahal and after the death of Shah Jahan, his tomb was also placed adjacent to his wife’s tomb.

Tajmahal construction costs around 32 million rupees at that time. It was build by approx 20000 workers. Artists were called from different places. Unique craftsmanship can be seen on this structure. Flowers are carved on marbles, plant motifs, calligraphy of Persian poems, calligraphy of Arabic ayat are detailed on walls and gates, reflective tiles, finial floor tiles are used, detailed jali are constructed. Tajmahal is covered by red sandstone walls in 3 sides and one of the side facing river Yamuna is open.

However there are many confusions regarding the construction of tajmahal that when it is built and by whom, many people and books claims that it is not built by shah Jahan and is not built in 17th century. However they are considered false by the indian government.

About 7-8 million tourists came to see the beauty of tajmahal every year. Tajmahal is considered as a symbol of love.

Indian government bigger step against china

Indian government on 29 june Monday, banned 59 chinese apps in india along with tiktok which is one of the most widely used app in india with billions of active users. Tiktok app has been removed from Google Play store too and those who already have tiktok app installed in their mobile phones can still use the app and can see this app in Play store, while it is not available for those who don’t have this app already in their phones.

This step of Indian government is due to disputes between india and China. Government claimed that these apps are not secured as they may share users private information to foreign countries.
From a very long time, revolution to boycott Chinese apps has been going on in india, in which people were hating tiktok app the most. Videos of people uninstalling tiktok from their phone was viral all over the social media and youtube a month ago. People were boycotting this chinese app. Even people who didn’t used it, gave it rating which led to decrease in it’s rating to around 2 star.

However, it was very common before this revolution, people used to insult the tiktokers for wasting their time over this app which we used to see on social media comment section and even on reality shows on T.V.

Now, this is recognised as a very big step by indian government towards boycotting the Chinese things.

Is mask important during exercise in Covid-19?

Has exercise helped you deal with the lockdown? If it’s, then you’re never alone. Exercise is unlimited. Gyms might reopen and therefore the government advice suggests that folks should wear face coverings on conveyance and in places where social distancing isn’t possible. But does this reach exercise? Here’s what you would like to understand about mask important during exercise or not.

Are runners required to wear face masks?

Not really. People should wear face masks where social distancing isn’t possible always and where they can inherit contact with others. Though they are doing not normally meet, for instance on conveyance or in some shops, the mask is important. In crowded areas, this recommendation could reach runners but officially there’s no advice requiring people that are exercising during a wide-open space to wear a mask. As long as you’re doing social distancing, it shouldn’t be necessary to wear a face-covering while exercising.

However, many professionals agree that wearing a mask is more about preventing the spread of Covid-19 to others, instead of protecting yourself, particularly if you’re asymptomatic.

If you’re getting to be jogging during a highly urban area, it’d be advisable to stay a mask in your pocket and put it on as you pass any crowds of individuals.

Is wearing a mask while exercising harmful?

There’s no scientific consensus on either the advantages or the risks, of wearing a mask while exercising, primarily because little research has been done into the world.

These five things which will happen if you wear a mask and exercise:

1.Claustrophobia

Because you breathe heavily while you’re exercising, there are high chances of you getting claustrophobic because the air supply could be restricted by your mask.

2.Lower stamina and fatigue

Stamina all boils right down to the quantity of oxygen you’re inhaling while you exercise. If you’re wearing a mask then your stamina is going to be on the lower side as you won’t be taking in the maximum amount of oxygen as you want to.

3.Nausea

Lack of oxygen and breathlessness may additionally cause nausea and dizziness.

4.Excessive sweating and dehydration

When you keep it up re-breathing the air you exhale it accelerates your pulse thanks to which you sweat tons. This can result in high chances that your body might dehydrate. We should always stay hydrated during the summer is crucial.

5.Unconsciousness and irritability

Although it’s not quite common, you can’t eliminate the probabilities of it. once you exercise together with your mask on you’re rebuilding the CO2 levels in your body which may cause unconsciousness.

Right now it’s better that you simply occupy the home and do whatever exercises you would like on your premises. you’ll use your terrace rather than stepping out.

Now that even the planet Health Organisation (WHO) is saying that we’d like to find out to measure with COVID-19, we’d like to take care of the alternatives we make. So, consider before you slip away for a run together with your mask on.

However, these incidents are rare, and there have likely been underlying health conditions.

Should You Wear a Mask When Exercising Outdoors? - WSJ

What sort of mask should I wear when I’m exercising?

From floral summer prints to heavy-duty respirators, it seems there is a mask cropping up for each occasion.

Several companies are producing face masks to run in, and these are for style and using materials to stop becoming excessively damp – breathing through the mask will produce water. The mask should be clean than having several will help. the fabric must be porous.

To help us, a mask made out of sentimental, breathable fabric that’s washable, making it safe for a sweaty exercise has been introduced. Masks also provide FFP 1 grade protection.

Is Will exercising with a mask affect my performance?

Whether you’re an experienced runner or a lockdown newbie cyclist, everyone likes to perform to the simplest of their ability. If you are planning to wear a mask on your daily exercise, it can make you feel uncomfortable, in hot weather.

There’s no doubt that folks are getting to find running with a mask harder. Then you’ve needed to breathe a touch harder to urge through the barrier, which suggests your lungs are getting to get a touch more of a piece out.

A mask decreases the flow of air into your lungs, so you’ll have less oxygen in your bloodstream. This suggests you’ll fatigue quicker. It’s likely that you simply are going to be getting enough oxygen once you exercise with a mask on, but if you are doing experience unusual signs like lightheaded, dizziness, extreme shortness of breath or numbness and tingling, stop exercising, begin your mask and take an opportunity.

Conclusion

Now lockdown restrictions are starting to be lifted, it’s even more important to require extra care when exercising publicly. If you can, choose a run where you are not going to encounter many of us. If you would like to exercise with someone, run side by side with an honest gap between each of you.

Also maintains it is vital to remember of the opposite people – both runners and pedestrians – on the pavement around you. If another person is coming towards you, shout and instruct in which direction you will proceed running. This will avoid collisions.

An Unexpected Guest

Don’t you find it a bit ironic that India is a country where women have no reproductive rights yet our nation is known worldwide for the Taj Mahal, a monument breathing the story of a queen who lost her life at the altar of her childbirth?

Today, the number of teenage girls popping the easily procured abortion pills, away from the knowing and reproachful eyes of their parents, is alarming. Buried under their winter jackets, they don’t even realize that a baby is growing.

guestTeenage pregnancy usually tends to occur within marriages, more often than not, set up by the parents of adolescents. On the other hand, some cases are the result of teenagers engaging in unprotected sex simply because they were not aware of the consequences or how to deal with them.

Either way, their ignorance leads them to get an abortion in a later stage which is not the ideal scenario, either for the baby or for the mother. In many cases, the complications are such that only one of them could be saved, putting the families in a position of dilemma and jeopardizing the futures of many. Here are a few measures to make people understand the consequences of teen pregnancy.

  1. Have ‘The Talk’

It is no secret that many parents in Indian society believe that talking about sex is a hushed or taboo topic. This ends up in many teenagers getting their share of knowledge from the internet, a place where most of the facts about this are misguiding and misleading, ending up in them having unprotected sex. If you are a parent, sit down with your children and let them know about this natural process, about their bodies. Since it is coming from a trusted source, they will be encouraged to ask their doubts and share their insecurities. This will help them in making an informed choice about their future.

  1. Know your Child

A parent’s duties involve fending for their children and to provide for them until they come of a certain age. This also includes protecting them from the evils of the world. Know who are your children’s closest friends and other people in their social circle. Try to keep a healthy atmosphere in your home and have open communication with your children so that they never have to lie about their whereabouts. Parenting is a two-way relationship; understand your children’s needs and try to help them cope up with their difficulties.

  1. guest2Sex Ed Classes

School is the place where you go to learn. If they can teach you your History and Math, then why not your Biology too? There should be a special Sex Education class for adolescents where they are taught about their bodies and the role they play in reproduction in detail. Students should be taught about the consequences of having sex including the diseases and made aware of all the birth control methods available to them. Counselors should be made available to the students, aiding and guiding them in times of crisis.

After all, awareness is the key to prevention.

Does Technology Make us Feel more Alone??

We are all for the most part guilty of staring at our phone screens rather than engaging in verbal conversation. Imagine going out to eat with your friends who you haven’t seen in forever and you have been saving the date for a while now; you finally show up and begin to chat with them before there phone lights up. They excuse themselves to send a quick text before they become more invested in their phone conversation than with you. Instead of engaging face, to face you begin to give halfhearted responses to each other before you give up and relinquish yourself back to checking the same social media posts you saw a half hour before showing up. While being a bit dramatic, it still serves to demonstrate that with the overabundance of technology that has been ingrained into todays social structure, it serves as a hinderance for those who are actively seeking to be more social.

In a study done by the Cigna Health Insurance company of a survey of 20,000 Americans, 46 percent of them reported feelings of being always or sometimes lonely. However, they further documented that how long people spend online also contributes to feelings of loneliness. They say that users who access social media more than fifty times a week are three times as likely to develop feelings of social isolation than users who accessed social media platforms like Facebook and Snapchat less than nine times per week.

This is most likely due to the fact that we choose to obsess over documenting our lives rather than live in the moment. Seeing people around you have a better time than you or those who might possess more of a certain trait than you can make you feel inadequate. While most people can realize that people choose to share momentous or joyous moments of their lives to the world, low self esteem users would become trapped in the minefield of social media with triggers surrounding them.

Loneliness can be severely life-altering – even life-threatening – for those who experience it. Linked with psychological problems such as alcohol and drug abuse, eating disorders and depression, the devastating effects of loneliness cannot be overstated. There is also much evidence to suggest that loneliness causes biological problems as well as psychological ones, and can even lead to death.

According to figures published in the Independent, an analysis of 300,000 people in 148 studies found that loneliness is associated with a 50% increase in mortality from any cause. In other words, no matter the ailment a person may be suffering with, isolation makes it worse and renders it harder to recover from the condition. In these terms, the analysis concluded, loneliness may be considered comparable to smoking 15 cigarettes a day, and more dangerous than obesity.

To combat the negative impacts of loneliness, people need real, in-person interactions, the authors of the Cigna study say. However, the more we rely upon technology – both at home and in the workplace – to socialize, complete daily tasks and perform work duties, the less time we spend meeting face-to-face with our friends, family, and co-workers, leading us once again to the question: Does technology make us more alone?

While different studies reveal slightly different statistics, the overall trend is clear – we are indeed addicted to technology, and social media use, in particular, has skyrocketed over recent years. One report last year from GlobalWebIndex estimates that digital consumers are now spending an average of 2 hours and 22 minutes per day on social networks and messaging services. Young people (16-24-year-olds) spend even more time, clocking up about 3 hours per day.

A separate report reveals that when we factor in all media technology – TV, computers, radio, smartphones, tablets – US adults are spending 10-and-a-half-hours every single day consuming media. That’s 10-and-a-half hours out of every 24 zoned into a screen, not talking to anybody, not socializing, engrossed in other people’s lives instead of living our own.

But what can we do about this? Is there no possible solution for this wide epidemic of “social media attraction” to get our teens to be more effective in communicating and developing social skills that are needed for their future lives and careers? The answer is yes, there is a solution to this.

What teens and parents can do is limit the time that their children use their smartphones for. Find ways for them interact with other people and siblings, have interesting and effective talks with new people, be friendly and open-minded and be up to listening what other people have to say. Go outside and spend an afternoon playing a sport and exercising for a much healthier life. Spend sometimes outdoors with your friends playing and talking. These are some of the many solution for a better and more effective teen that will develop the skills needed in order to approach the real world.
