Rags to riches

If there’s one dessert that every person on this planet loves, it’s an ice cream! But one Mumbai-based label is giving every ice cream company a run for its money. Naturals Ice Cream companywhich started with an investment of Rs 2 lakh, now has a turnover of Rs 300 crore.

Renowned for its cafe-like ice cream parlors, Naturals has 129 stores in all major cities of India, including Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Delhi

“You don’t have to wait for the ‘big idea’. It is important to start and build upon the small ideas to create the biggest wins,” very well said by Raghunandan Kamath, the Founder of Naturals Ice Cream, hails from Mangaluru. The boy of a fruit vendor, Raghunandan learnt to distinguish good fruits early on. Shortly, his eldest brother came to Mumbai to make it big. He unveiled a cafe in Santa Cruz, and put Raghunandan in charge of the ice cream counter.

Raghunandan soon understood that ice cream was a unique and exotic dessert that grabbed the fancy of the working class, and was a symbol of elitism

In 1983, after getting married, he decided to start something of his own, and thus, Naturals Ice Cream came into existence in 1984.

Today, Raghunandan’s sons, Srinivas Kamath and Siddhant Kamathare assisting him operate the enterprise across India.

While ice cream comes across as the ultimate sweet-tooth experience, production it is not very tough. For the past 37 years, Kamath has been leveraging small ideas to build his empire.

At a time when ice creams were a rare, albeit prized possession and only aristocratic families had access to them, Kamath sold Pav Bhaji with ice cream. This pioneering brand also refrained their brand from artificial colours, flavours and preservatives that its competitors were using.

Kamath keenly observed his surroundings to make ‘Naturals’ a household name — whether it was learning to pick quality fruits like his father, using his mother’s traditional hacks or taking customer feedback seriously.

Today, his wife, Annapurna and sons, Siddhant and Srinivas also serve on the management board. Their staff of 125 members produce close to 20 tonnes of ice creams daily.

Originally from Puttur taluka of Mangalore in Karnataka, Kamath was the youngest of seven siblings. His mother was a homemaker and his father was a fruit vendor. The family of eight also cultivated some fruits on their one-acre land but their monthly earnings were as low as Rs 100.

The prospect of education looked insubstantial. Students of Classes 1 to 5 in Kamath’s school were taught together and despite failing in his exams, he was promoted. However, it was the lessons outside the classroom that Kamath liked the most.

The COVID-19 pandemic saw a dip in sales for the brand’s business, but Siddhant, his brother, and their father are not new to challenges. In 1993, an income tax query on the business turned out to be a big blow for the company. “We incurred several losses because my father was not aware of several taxation policies,” Siddhant adds.

However, the family started on its road to recovery by giving out five franchises of the business.

Similarly, in 1991, when the economy had just opened, allowing foreign companies to open a business in India, ice cream companies like Baskin Robbins and Haagen Dazs posed a lot of difficulties for Naturals.

There were no ‘MBA-level’ tactics used by this courageous businessman who simply wanted to sell fruit-flavoured ice cream. By moving into a niche segment like the ice cream market, which was largely overshadowed by a handful of brands, Kamath took a huge risk and his courage paid off !

MUSIC SOOTHES THE SOUL

Art and music are basic human functions. Humankind and art cannot function without one another.

Modern society is teeming with stress. Given the extensive demands on both our personal and professional lives, this probably comes as no surprise.
music therapy, which has been gaining increasing popularity as an effective way to combat stress. Using music to improve health has been well-documented.

Sound healing therapy uses aspects of music to improve physical and emotional health and well-being.
Healing with sound is believed to date back to ancient Greece, when music was used in an attempt to cure mental disorders.
More recently, research has linked music to a number of health benefits, from boosting immune function and lowering stress levels to improving the health of premature babies.

The various musical elements of rhythm, melody, harmony, and tempo stimulate a cognitive and emotional response that comprises the affective component of pain, which helps to positively affect mood and results in improved healing.

Dr. Death (2021)|Review| A completely chilling series

Who is Dr. Death? How did he come to be? How did he continue practicing medicine despite hurting a terrifying number of patients? This series unfolded politics with an operating room, hospitals, and law.

A real-life story about a doctor who maimed and killed his patient relentlessly and without guilt.

Plot:

The story revolves around Christopher Duntsch, a former neurosurgeon who “Intentionally” maimed and even killed his patients. His two fellow colleagues and a prosecutor Michelle Shughart’s journey to stop him and bring justice. The drama miniseries is based on the podcast(by Wondery), with the same name, which covered his heinous crime.

Release date: 15 July 2021

No. of episodes: 8

Network: Peacock

Genre: True Crime

Writer(s): Patrick Macmanus

Executive producers: Jason Blumthal, Marshall Lewy, Steve tisch and more.

Running time: 43-60 minutes.

Let’s start with introduction of characters and their stories!

Christopher Duntsch aka DR. Death or Dr. D.

From the start, it is very obvious that he is a very obnoxious, extremely narcissist with God complex ( someone who thinks they has been divinely blessed or has an exceptional talent compared to everyone else, that they can perform risks to save someone’s life because they can’t make mistakes. Even if they do make mistakes they can either miraculously correct them or it is the fault of people around them which they then discard to take action upon) and who is in denial of his abilities.

“I don’t have complications”, “The attending interrupted which distracted me”, “I can leave kindness and become a stone-cold killer, and the way he slammed every doctor’s procedure to prove his way of surgery screams an insane amount of sociopath vibes and terrifying negligence. These were some of the red flags

He has said to have performed 37 surgeries, out of which 33 have intense complications and some dead. A neurosurgeon who brags about educational accomplishment all the time, doesn’t accept the existence of human error

Roles Portrayed:

Each and every actor portrayed their roles excellently. You could feel their irritation and anger radiating through the screens. Patient’s nervousness, excitement, desperation makes you imagine yourself to be in their or their loved one’s situation. The nonchalance of Duntsch ( By Joshua Jackson), his ability to use charm and threats to remain a doctor and get selected in other hospitals infuriates you to the bone. Dr. Robert Henderson’s (Alex Baldwin) immeasurable patience and Dr. Randall Kirby’s (Christian Slater)relatable impatience and anger take you on a rollercoaster ride.

Review:

The show starts with his patients at Dallas Medical. 3 days, 3 patients. One dead, one woken with extreme pain and no mobility in legs, and one is said to be recovering.  Dr. Robert Henderson had to perform a revision surgery on Madeleine Beyer, who woke up with extreme pain. During surgery he found out that there were many holes which were from the attempted attachment of screws, her fragments of bone dispersed and piercing main nerves. He wonders what did Duntsch do to her since her bones were completely shattered.

Through his course in Dallas, his circulating nurse, Josh Baker(Hobert Point-Du) consults and preps his OR. He is concerned about Duntsch as well as his patients. He questions and tries to protect patients. You get to see how nurses and everyone else except the doctor is treated with so little respect. Their voice of concern went not only unheard but also was looked upon as an interruption. Although one can understand that surgery is complex and doubts by people around us is effective, but in this scenario, the patients lost around 1700-2000 CC’s of blood and the nurses decided to voice their opinion. How can this be disregarded and the voices getting unheard? How can continuing to operate while a patient is hemorrhaging be ignored when these issues were brought to the Texas Medical Board? How is aggressively asking for a procedure like a craniotomy in a hospital where craniotomy is not performed (SO, they won’t have any instruments to do that and to counteract if it goes wrong isn’t there) okay when the situation could have been handled by simply transferring the patient to another hospital? It clearly shows that his intent was either to cover up his harm and to show doctorly care by performing a procedure

While writing the plot, I preferred to choose “Intentionally” since trained doesn’t just mean only that a superior/ attending is responsible for imparting knowledge. The learner/ resident has the equal responsibility to learn and practice what they have been taught. It also means that an attending, as well as a resident themselves, recognize what are they capable of and what are their limitations since it is someone’s life we are talking about. Just like Kayla Gibson said, he should have stuck to research.

Intentionally, because it is no wonder he knew he doesn’t know how to operate and yet he went on to shut everyone off and to continue operating the way he thought was right, i.e. recklessly treating his patients as mere Guinea pigs with little to no regard to human anatomy.

The series had me completely hooked till the end. Waiting for someone to listen to them, wanting to help them even it took place long back, feeling for each character since they seemed so genuine. I hated Duntsch and how calmly he dealt with everything. I hated how he easily went up the food chain and be unscathed. Joshua’s acting got me for real.

Well, let’s look at it objectively. Before, During and After. ( Spoilers ahead, if you haven’t seen the series completely)

He “compassionately” tells his patient about how not getting done a surgery could lead to what-nots, boats about degrees to nervous family members, wears the same scrubs with holes to operations. Then, during surgery, he erratically operates, slices through a vertebral artery takes a piece out of the esophagus, damaged vocal cords, intends to remove a disc but in the end, doesn’t even go near it, and perform surgery around the disc. Keeps asking for more follow-up to perform surgeries. But, would never check up on a patient, ignore their calls, and completely abandon them. He even operates on his best friend leaving him quadriplegia, blames others, and abandons him.

Dr. Kirby and his childlike behavior gets me since that’s how most of us would feel in the moment. The face of disbelief he carried all the way is remarkable.

To imagine that he would be still practicing medicine if his colleagues hadn’t reported and taken every measure to stop him, it is truly horrifying to imagine how many more lives he would have destroyed.

Note:

I applaud each and everyone who took a step against him and try to mend the system which is so broken. This series was so well made. The storyline was continuous, his behavioral relation between present and past, coldness, and the lives he affected out of surgery world; everything was so well thought and executed.

Seeing the series, might help you understand the world of surgery.

Although, the negativity of Dr. D is the main focus, we can always believe that there good doctors out there and we can ourselves support good ones and protect ourselves from Dr. D by asking questions regarding procedures and not being afraid to listen to our hesitation. Don’t let people like Duntsch affect other doctors whose only intention to save lives and help people. Do not get discouraged to reach out to medical care and do everything in our power to treat ourselves and our loved ones. Just remember to ask, have an open mind to all kinds of people, and be mentally prepped to go for treatments.

Wrath of Man Review

Wrath of Man is a 2021 action thriller heist film directed by Guy Ritchie, from a script he co-wrote with Ivan Atkinson and Marn Davies, and is loosely based on the 2004 French film Cash Truck by Nicolas Boukhrief. It is Ritchie’s fourth directorial collaboration with lead actor Jason Statham, and first since Revolver (2005). Statham stars as H, a new cash truck driver in Los Angeles who thwarts a robbery only to have his mysterious past begin to get questioned. Holt McCallany, Jeffrey Donovan, Chris Reilly, Josh Hartnett, Laz Alonso, Raúl Castillo, DeObia Oparei, Eddie Marsan, and Scott Eastwood also star.

The 🎥

Plot

The movie is separated into four parts, each chapter circling back to one main event that sets off a chain reaction. Beginning with “A Dark Spirit,” an armoured truck is robbed by heavily armed individuals dressed as construction workers. Two guards and a civilian are killed during the robbery.

Five months after the robbery, a mysterious Patrick Hill applies to Fortico Security, an armoured truck company. In his interview, his soon-to-be superior, Terry, commends him for his references and warns him of the robbery. Hill is then introduced to Bullet, who nicknames him “H” and oversees his training and qualifying tests. “H” barely manages to pass the tests and gets off to a rocky start with his new colleagues, particularly “Boy Sweat” Dave. On his first official training day, “H,” Dave, and “Bullet” are assigned to the same pickup. Dave, who has a “we are the prey” attitude about the job, tells “H” more about the robbery where guards were killed. He reveals that he was supposed to drive the truck but had called in sick that day.

During a training pickup, “Bullet” is taken hostage, and the kidnappers demand the $2 million in their truck. Dave panics, but “H” convinces him to drive to save “Bullet.” When “H” and Dave meet the kidnappers, “H” quickly disposes of them with expert marksmanship, despite his mediocre shooting skills from his qualification tests. The police investigators assigned to the robbery question “H” about his true abilities against his training. Then they ask him to watch security footage of the previously mentioned robbery to see if he thinks the two crimes are connected. “H” denies the connection and is released back to Terry. Terry tries to give “H” desk duty for a month in case of PTSD until the CEO of Fortico comes to personally thank “H,” allowing him to continue work in the field.

The police investigators later identify “H” to their superior, FBI Agent King, as someone the Bureau had been looking for 25 years. However, King tells them to let “H” off the hook and “let the painter paint.” As a result of the attempted robbery, many of “H”‘s coworkers now believe him to be a hero. In what appears to be his hotel room later that night, “H” is visited by a woman who gives him Fortico employee files, photos of coworker Dana Curtis’ family, and an autopsy report. “H” reviews a copy of the robbery footage shown to him by the police investigators.

In a later routine pickup with just “H” and “Bullet,” the truck is attacked again. “H” faces the robbers after they flood the armored truck with tear gas, and they quickly retreat after one of the robbers sees “H”‘s face. Terry doesn’t believe his story, thinking him to now be a psychopath. The Fortico CEO, however, commends “H” once again and sends him on his way. “H” later sleeps with Dana and holds her at gunpoint to interrogate her about a private cash stash he finds. She claims she stole money once from a liquor store for retirement savings. “H” spares her life but threatens further repercussions if he learns she is withholding other information.

The second part, titled “Scorched Earth,” begins with a flashback five months earlier. “H” is out with his son Dougie when he reluctantly agrees to a work call asking him to help with the recon of an armoured truck route. “H” makes an excuse to get some burritos at a food truck and stops on the other side of the bridge from the Fortico depot. Dougie stays in the car while he goes out. While waiting by the food truck, “H” calls his underling to confirm the truck’s route. As the armored truck goes under the bridge, it is attacked by the disguised and heavily armed construction workers, who kill the guards for trying to fight back as well as Dougie for witnessing Jan’s face. When “H” runs toward them, he is gunned down as well but survives. Three weeks later, “H” wakes up in a hospital after life-saving surgery and learns of his son’s death. He is in complete shock, showing little emotion, even when his wife claims their son’s death was his fault and leaves him.

“H” meets up with FBI Agent King and requests intel. King has a list of possible suspects that the FBI is also looking into, unsure of who “H” is looking for. King tells “H” he can do what he likes, but to consider he can only turn a blind eye for so long. “H” is then revealed to be Mason Hargreaves, the boss of a crime syndicate. His syndicate’s direct underlings – Mike, Brendan, and Moggy – are the men who will make the second attack on “H’s” cash truck. “H” demands to find the specific face responsible for killing Dougie. His men claim they’ve already begun searching, scorching the earth for justice, but have yet to find the culprit. After exhausting their list of suspects and coming up with no possible leads, leaving carnage in their wake, Mike suggests that the robbery was an inside job. “H,” says he will fly back to London to clear his mind. Instead, he arranges a local contact, Kirsty, to provide him with the forged identity of Patrick Hill, put him up in a hotel, and locate the autopsy report of Dougie’s death.

In the third part, “Bad Animals, Bad,” we meet a bored former military platoon consisting of Carlos, Sam, Brad, Tom, and Jan, commanded by their platoon leader Jackson. Struggling to make ends meet, most unemployed or working underpaid jobs, the group decides to start stealing money in increasingly ambitious heists. The heists are planned in great detail by Jackson and Tom, while maintaining the façade of ordinary lives with families, except for Jan; he appears to be the black sheep of the group, showing little respect for Jackson and complaining about everything from how the money is divided to what they can purchase with their shares. The first attempt to steal from a wealthy man for whom Carlos works as security comes up with only a few hundred thousand dollars. They then resolve to utilize contacts in armoured truck companies to steal millions of dollars. Each heist comes with increasing wealth and costs. When they perform the Fortico heist, Jan is revealed to be the one that kills the guards and Dougie against the wishes of the rest of the team.

The last part, titled “Lungs, Liver, Spleen, Heart,” is set back in the present. Jackson and Tom bring the team together for a much larger but riskier final heist to steal over $150 million from the Fortico depot on Black Friday. “H” and “Bullet” are riding together when “Bullet” reveals he is the thieves’ insider and asks “H” to cooperate to avoid death. Four of the thieves, dressed in full body armour, hide in the truck to gain access into the depot while Jackson and Tom take a black vehicle behind them. Their goal is to keep the scene drama-free, open the gate to let Jackson’s vehicle in, and empty the depot before SWAT arrives 8 minutes later. Once the hostage cash truck successfully enters the depot, they take hostages, including Terry and Dave. Dana and two other workers named Stuart and Shirley are in the back of another truck, unaware of the situation beyond them. The thieves demand the gate be opened, but one worker, John, triggers the alarm. The workers behind the weapons desk begin shooting at the thieves but are quickly subdued. They let Jackson and Tom in and start taking the money. Dana and Stuart have called the cops now, but Shirley can’t stay hidden and decides to start shooting despite protests from the others.

In the commotion, “H” chokes Carlos out and frees Terry and Dave. He takes Carlos’s body armour to fight back, inspiring Dave to do the same while Terry hides. Realizing they may not make it out, “Bullet” breaks his cover and shoots Dave, Dana, and the remaining guards. He shoots “H” last and leaves him to die. “Bullet,” Jackson, and Jan are the only ones to make it out of the depot, though Jackson is critically wounded. They evade police and make it to a garage where they have access to underground tunnels. Believing Jan will try to kill them, Jackson takes out a pistol, but Jan stops him and slits his throat. When Jan and “Bullet” make it to the end of the tunnel, “Bullet” takes out a gun to kill Jan, but Jan kills him first. Jan successfully makes away with all the money before the police can deduce what happened.

At the apartment, Jan finds a phone ringing in one of the money bags, which was planted there by “H” to track his location. “H” confronts Jan with Dougie’s autopsy report before shooting him in the same places Dougie was shot. “H” turns in the money to his FBI contact and drives off with Mike.

THE GOTHIC NOVEL

During the later half of the 18th century, there was a revival of interest in the life and art of medieval times. The gothic novel arose out of this new zeal for medieval life and fashions.

Gothic Novel:

The Gothic novels of the period sought to satisfy the reader’s craving for mystery and violent emotion and for stories set in remote times and places, depicting ghosts, portents, and demonic forces at work.

Themes of the Gothic Novel:

  • Generally, the central theme of the Gothic novel is romantic love. A somber, restless villain is the central figure.
  • The innocent, beautiful heroine probably imprisoned in a castle wants to be rescued by her lover.
  • The scene is placed in a castle or the dark cloisters of a ruined Abbey equipped with frightening secret passages and private chambers.

Structure of the Gothic novel:

Supernatural events, physical violence, and mental anguish are part of the thematic structure of the Gothic novel. Wild and desolate nature provides the background. The central sentiment of the Gothic novel is melancholy. The Gothic novel was, thus, a conscious protest against the rational and realistic creed of the earlier period.

The father of Gothic novel:

Horace Walpole is called the father of the Gothic novel. His “The Castle Of Otranto” published in 1764, set the trend. He used a medieval setting for this novel. There is death murder, intrigue, and villainy in the novel. The Castle looms large as a sinister symbol until a ghost throws it down.

Ann Radcliffe

Ann Radcliffe continued the gothic tradition in several novels. Her best work is ‘The Mysterious Of Udolpho’ published in 1794. It shows an extravagant spectacle of Gothic elements like the somber castle of Udolpho with its sliding panels, secret passages, and supernatural sounds. Her other important novel is “The Italian.” Her method way to arouse terror and curiosity by apparently supernatural events which are finally explained as natural events.

Some other Gothic novels:

  • Dracula by Bram Stoker
  • The strange case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson
  • The Turn of the Screw by Henry James
  • The Fall of the House of Usher and Other Tales by Edgar Allan Poe
  • Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë
  • Frankenstein by Mary Shelley
  • The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde

Why they are famous:

The plot and content of the gothic novels will be Scary and mysterious. The book contains several allusions and assumptions. The plot always seems creepy to the readers. And during that era, people needed some drama and unrealistic elements in their life to boost up the experience of reading time. When some novels started to fire up the process of Gothic literary forms, more authors started to write on this theme. Even, some well know authors who are famous for their humorous works and romance works started to write Gothic to follow the trend and current affairs.

However, People love unrealistic dramas and fiction, especially Gothic elements. Thus, Gothic novels will always entertain their readers with the plots and beautiful narration of dark aesthetics.

MYSTERY OF SRI YANTRA DESIGN ON OREGON LAKE BED

The Sri Yantra is a Mystical diagram, where the word “Sri” is known as “wealth” and the word “Yantra” is known as an “instrument”. This diagram is formed by nine interlocking triangles that are surrounded and radiated out from the Central (Bindu) point. The Two-dimensional Sri Yantra, when it is projected into three- dimensions is called a Maha Meru. In Hindu Vedas it is believed that worship of Sri Yantra creates a numerous positive effects. In simple words Sri Yantra is the symbol of Hinduism, which is purely based on the Hindu philosophy of vedas. In todays article I’m going to explain about a mystery on Sri Yantra which was found in Oregon, USA at 1990.

In the year of 1990 on august 10th an Air National Guard pilot Bill Miller noticed a strange formation on an Oregon dry lake bed that the Air National Guard frequently flew over on training missions. He noticed that massive formation is a quarter mile wide and is located 70 miles southeast of Burns, Oregon. Later they found that strange formation on lake bed as a Sri Yantra which occupied 13 miles in length and width.

Most of the officials suspected that mysterious formation took thousands of dollars and a lot of man power to complete along with high tech equipment and lasers and some people, including professors and researchers in USA believed that it was done by aliens and a team also assigned for searching clues about its formation.

For some time this event was treated with the head scratching bewilderment that accompanies crop formations. On the ground investigations revealed no tell tale signs of vehicles or human intervention. Word spread fast that it was an extra terrestrial event. People were intrigued and fascinated but got stuck on the how? And the wow! The event was debated for some time.

Suddenly everyone got surprised when an artist named as Bill Witerspoon from Iowa and his friends came into the picture of investigation by saying that, the mysterious formation of Sri Yantra on Oregon lake bed was done by them with the use of sticks, wires, 12 miles of string and a basic plow but most of the people doesn’t accepted with their statement on Sri Yantra formation. After a detailed interview with Bill witerspoon and his friends on this matter they said about the following matter

” In the year of 1990 on summer, Bill Witerspoon along with his group of friends went to a remote alkali lake bed in the high desert of southeast Oregon to inscribe a large Sri Yantra in the earth and they were also decided to live in the large central point that contain in Sri Yantra. For drawing the massive art form they chosen that site because of its beauty and remoteness. Almost no one, except a few ranchers, ever went there and they also felt that inscribing lines in the alkali surface would not disturb any vegetation and it would be a transitory event which eventually disappears back into the surface through the natural action of wind and the occasional water that floods the lake bed every few years. They also said that drawing of that art form took almost ten days for it’s completion.

After the completion of the art work they lived in the nine-foot central circle of the Sri Yantra for almost three weeks. During that period of their stay in that central circle they observed remarkable changes in the workings of Nature within the design and in the valley where it was situated.”

The art form that was drawn on that landscape subjected to change of the “feeling” within the valley which was eventually noted by ranchers and other people who have known the area for a long time. People reported experiencing qualities of energetic peacefulness, harmony with nature and enhanced intuition when they were in the design and valley. Another influence was a radical change in the quality of meditation that would repeatedly occur if individuals moved a few feet out of the central circle into the innermost triangle of the design or vice versa.

Changes in the environment were also observed vastly within the design, which had been inscribed in highly alkaline silt, incapable of supporting any kind of vegetation, there were remarkable changes in the direction of increased fertility. So, Guys this is the mystery behind the formation of SRI YANTRA on Oregon lake bed and there is no doubt in saying that people near Oregon lake bed had experienced the favourable changes only because of the Sri Yantra design on that landscape.

Environmental laws in india

Either Stable burning in various states accrued the air pollution in Delhi and created a gas chamber around NCR ; SC came upon a committee to observe scenario , Or 4 industries inflicting stream pollution were shut down by Maharashtra pollution board . Everybody has responsive to environmental problems as higher than . The key solution for resilience to environmental issues are provided by government in various legislations , enactments and provisions on environment laws .

Natural resources in the earth were unscathed from millions of years. It were remain pure until the industrialized started . After the industrialization this resources have been exploited in Spain of 100 years only . From 19th century, the environment (air , water and land ) is directly exploited by rapidly growing population at alarming-rates.

environment includes water, air and land and the inter-relationship which exists among and between water, air and land, and human beings, other living creatures, plants, microorganisms and property , as mentioned in section 2 of environmental protection Act of 1986 . Environment is a wide sphere , it consists of social, economically , political , religious dimensions .

Addressed area of environmental laws in India :

1. Quality of water : For the prevention and control of water pollution and to maintain or restore wholesomeness of water in the country the water act of 1974 was enacted. It further provides for the establishment of Boards ( CPCB and SPCB ) for the prevention and control of water pollution with a view to carry out the aforesaid purposes. This act prohibits the discharge of pollutants into water bodies beyond a given standard, it also lays down fine and penalties for non-compliance.

2. Reduction of air pollution and maintaining air quality : The Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 (the “Air Act”) is an act to provide for the prevention , protection and abatement of air pollution .It provides for establishment of Boards at the Central and State levels with a view to carrying out the aforesaid purposes.

3. Hazardous Waste management : legislations that directly or indirectly deal with hazardous waste management are the Factories Act, 1948, the Public Liability Insurance Act, 1991, the National Environment Tribunal Act, 1995 and rules and notifications under the Environmental Act.

4. Containment cleanup, damage mitigation : preventing future damage to the environment is undeniably the primary objective of environmental law, mitigating and reducing existing damage is also important. This area most often deals with issues like toxic leaks and oil spills. Netflix’s gaming expansion begins on mobile devices.

Netflix started in its second-quarter earnings report on Tuesday that its early gaming efforts will be centered on mobile games and that the games will be included with customers’ Netflix subscriptions. The news comes just days after the firm announced the hiring of Mike Verdu, a former EA, and Oculus executive, to lead its gaming efforts.

From Netflix’s letter to investors, here’s what it said about gaming:

We’re also in the early phases of extending into games, drawing on our previous interactive initiatives (e.g., Black Mirror Bandersnatch) and Stranger Things games. We see gaming as a new content category for us, in the same way, that we’ve expanded into original films, animation, and unscripted television. Games, like films and shows, will be included in customers’ Netflix subscriptions at no additional cost. We’ll start by concentrating on games for mobile devices. We’re as thrilled as ever about our movie and TV series offerings, and we foresee a long runway of increased investment and growth across all of our existing content categories, but now that we’ve been at it for almost a decade, we believe it’s time to learn more about how our members value gaming.

Although Netflix just expanded its TV contract with Shonda Rhimes to include feature films and gaming content, there are still no indications on what sorts of games would be accessible. There’s also no indication of how Netflix subscribers will get their games.

In the past, the business has admitted that it competes for time and attention with games, with co-CEO Reed Hastings stating in 2019 that “we compete with (and lose to) Fortnite more than HBO.” In April, as part of the company’s first-quarter reporting, COO Greg Peters mentioned the interest of the company in gaming (PDF). And with games like Black Mirror: Bandersnatch and Carmen Sandiego, the firm has already dabbled with gaming.

However, it appears like Netflix is now more interested in gaming than ever, with the recent appointment of Verdu and the fresh details revealed Tuesday about its first intentions.

DETERIORATING CONDITIONS OF INDIAN LITERATURE

India was not only a golden sparrow in the terms of treasure but it was also in the terms of art and literature। India has a very prosperous name in the fields of mathematics, astrology, science and many more. All the evidence is in the books written by various scholars of ancient time. This means that India has its roots very deep in the field of art and literature.
Earlier, technology was not  advanced, there was no availability of televisions, phones and internet. Hence, people read books, newspapers, magazines etc.  From there the value of art and literature began to start. People were always fond of reading. Many used to wait for a week very eagerly for magazines like champak and others. The knowledge you get from literature is unforgettable. Poems and authors were liked and loved widely by the readers.
The drive for freedom and independence was a result of people sharing poems and articles. Gandhiji, Bhagat Singh and many other freedom fighters motivated Indians to fight against Britishers with the help of articles and poems. There was an era when writings and writers had a great influence on society. There are many more examples which shows the importance of literature in Indian history.
After independence, cinema and theatre began to develop in the country. Black and white television was introduced. Films were shot and played in theaters. Of course, there was a time when cinemas influenced the people greatly. People loved songs, movies and cinemas but the value of art and literature was at the same level. Movies of those time dealt with social problems, culture and status. However, movies were rarely seen.
There was only one television in the village. And that too in the home of the richest man of the village. Reading book was quite cheaper than seeing cinemas.
Times changed, era changed, situation changed and the field of interest changed. The internet became accessible very easily, people started spending more time on social media and other stuff. A time came when people became so fond of browsing the internet. They started using it in such a manner that it turned into a disadvantage to the entire society. The interest in art and literature vanished.  Authors and poets became lost. No identity, no attention was given to the authors, poets and their writings.
People are getting attracted towards dance and music. No doubt! Dance and music are one of the most beautiful form of art which provides pleasure to the soul. Earlier too people were fond of music and dance, India is a land of unique diversity in various dance forms and various ragas of music. It's a beautiful thing to get attracted towards dance and music, but the sadness is that people are getting attracted towards bad music, item songs and dances which doesn't maintain the dignity of society.  Today every second song talks about women's body, insults women in one or the other way, and the reality is that people are loving it and encouraging such non social stuff.
Today, people are ready to see a full movie of 3 hours, listen to a song of 5 minutes, and spend hours and hours on YouTube and various other social networking sites, but who is ready to read a few lines of a poet, an article of a writer? Of course no one.  No one has time to read or to understand the literature.  People are neither interested in reading early literature nor today's.
Society, as well as the government, doesn't provide a good platform to authors, poets, speakers and litterateurs. For instance, there is a platform for upcoming poets and writers in school and colleges. What happens after college? After completing studies there is no platform for one who writes as a passion. On the social networking platform, people in their contacts are not at all interested in their writings. It is not even seen, especially by the young generation. A few in thousands are there who bother about it.
For dancers, there is Dance India Dance. For singers,  there is Indian Idol. For various other artists such as painter, actor, mimicry etc, there is India Got Talent. What about poets, writers, speakers and debaters? Just kavi sammelans. None of them given an identity at national level except for a very few.
No proper platform is given to these talented folks in India or anywhere in the world. Government too does not take any initiative.
This will ruin the literature so badly, it's identity is going to be lost soon and the coming generation will have no idea about literature.
Every talent is great, whether it is dance, music or writing. People should appreciate everything, and all artists must get equal platforms.
