“HEALTH IS WEALTH”

“To keep the body in good health is a duty… otherwise we shall not be able to keep our mind strong and clear.”

                                      – Buddha

The proverb ‘Health is wealth’ means that one’s health is the greatest wealth. The definition of health is a state of a person’s physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being . Every person must maintain good health. It makes them feel good and positive.

This gives large meaning to our life, as health is considered the most valuable and precious for every individual .  Good health means not only the absence of disease in the body but a complete physical, mental, social as well as spiritual well-being of an individual.

The value of health is vital for every human being . Many people have to suffer from diseases to allergies and stuck with it for their entire life . If people had control over health , then they would make sure that there are no issues with it.

Being healthy should be part of your overall lifestyle. Living a healthy lifestyle can help prevent chronic diseases and long-term illnesses. Feeling good about yourself and taking care of your health are important for your self-esteem and self-image. Maintain a healthy lifestyle by doing what is right for your body.

Be physically active for 30 minutes or at least 10 – 15 minutes for every day . Healthy movement.  includes  walking, sports, dancing, yoga, running or other activities you enjoy. Eat a well-balanced, low-fat diet with lots of fruits, vegetables and whole grains.

Stop Giving Toxic People Your Time

BE CAREFULL!

Do you ever get upset about the nasty behavior of your co-workers, friends, or even family? Well, if you let others upset you, it’s not their fault.

“It’s not me, it’s him!” is what most of us say. We’re always quick to blame others for how we feel.

We say that others make us feel that way. But that’s false. You decide how you feel about the things that happen in your life.

Events can’t harm us. Our perception of an event harms us. That’s one of the most important ideas of Stoic philosophy.

In other words, you decide what meaning you give to the things that happen in your life. If your friend tells lies about you behind your back, and you get upset, that’s because you decided to get upset.

After all, you don’t control others. That’s why who you spend your time with is a matter of life and death.

The great Stoic philosopher, Epictetus, said this in his Manual For Living:

“Avoid fraternizing with people who don’t share your values. Prolonged association with those with false ideas can only tarnish your thinking.”

It’s something I truly live by. I’ve seen others destroy people’s lives too often to take this idea carelessly.

And I bet that you’ve had your share of, for lack of a better term, “toxic” people in your life.

There Are Two Kinds Of People

  • People with values
  • People without values

I think that less than 1% of the population has values. Values entail nothing more than answers to questions like:

  • How do you treat people?
  • How do you treat yourself?
  • What’s right and what’s wrong?

Here’s an easy way to detect people without values: When you see that someone becomes an entirely different person in a heartbeat — that’s when you know someone has no values.

For example, at our company, we recently hired a toxic intern. The intern turned out to be a different person from the person we thought we hired.

Of course, that’s our mistake. Even though we talked extensively about values during the interview process, we didn’t detect any warning signals.

And everything was fine during the first week. But as soon as the intern found a partner in one of our other interns, things started to change.

All of a sudden, with this new-found support, the intern started gossiping, trying to manipulate others, and causing mayhem. Fortunately, we identified it quickly and communicated that we have a zero-tolerance policy for toxic behavior.

It’s not an unusual thing in organizations. People often hide their true colors. I should say, they hide the fact that they don’t have colors.

When you lack values, you automatically gravitate towards natural human behavior. And that’s very dark. I recently read 12 Rules For Life by Dr. Jordan Peterson, a clinical psychologist, and a professor at the University of Toronto.

His fundamental proposition is that people are malevolent and that life is suffering. To prove that statement, Peterson shares compelling examples of human history with us.

He’s right. People have always lied, killed, and deceived their way through life.

But There’s An Alternative

Look, you can easily go down the rabbit hole of nasty behavior. Just spend enough time with bad people — eventually, you will become one of them.

You can also fill your days with gossiping, lying, and manipulating others. And you’ll probably also feel good when you do it. A sense of power, no matter how it’s achieved, gives people satisfaction. That’s how our minds work.

So when you recognize someone who doesn’t have principles, shows nasty behavior, and has multiple personalities — step away.

Instead, surround yourself with people who want the best for you.

Not with people who are jealous, can’t see your success, and thrive off negativity. I think this is important to realize for anyone who wants to live a good life.

A few years ago, when I started to live a conscious life, I had to say goodbye to people who only wanted to live a life of pleasure.

And I’ve also seen other friends that started to change their life for the better but were dragged back into the bottomless pit of darkness by others.

But as you and I both know, life is also full of warm and caring people. It’s not all bad.

Be Stingy With Your Time

“You’re the average of the five people you spend your time with.” It has become such a cliché. But I don’t think that we truly understand the impact that other people can have on us.

Like Epictetus said, others can tarnish your thinking. Is that worth it?

Look at it this way. Would you give $1000 to the people in your life if they asked for it? If the answer is no, stop giving the people who don’t share the same values as you, your time.

I’ve narrowed down the list of people I spend 90% of my time with to my direct family and my two best friends. Other than that, I spend my time working and exercising. That’s what I mostly do. And I’ve never enjoyed my life this much.

So if you have a job you love, and a few people in your life who you love, you don’t even have more time to spend.

Nothing else gives more satisfaction than having a meaningful career and a strong family.

“But what if my family is toxic?”

Inspire them to change for the better. I don’t give up on my family. Even if it takes 10 years, I will still try to help them.

Create Your Values, And Stick To Them

To live a virtuous life, you need principles. Without principles (or values), we have no character. And without character, we’re nothing.

“Who cares!”

Well, you should care. You’re the one who looks in the mirror every day. Are you happy with what you see?

That’s the only measure I have for my life. I must like the person I see in the mirror. If I don’t like that guy, I’ll change. That’s what I’ve always done. And that’s what I still do every day.

Improve Yourself

What’s the alternative? Like Peterson concludes in his 12 Rules For Life, there’s no other viable option for life.

There’s only one path to happiness: Forward motion.

You need the promise of what could be. You need a path to a better life. None of us is perfect.

It doesn’t matter if we ever reach our desired destination or not. What matters is that we keep improving.

If You Feel Like You Need A Break, Take One

HAVE A BREAK!

You recharge your phone when it runs out of juice. You refill your gas tank when you’re running on empty. But sometimes, you forget to take a break and recharge your most precious possession: Your body (and the brain that’s inside of it).

Whether you love what you do, are in between jobs, or have a job you hate: You’re working. Living is also a job. A pretty tough one, actually. Just the act of getting up in the morning can be a daunting task. And I’m not even talking about all the responsibilities we have.

So why do you make your life even more challenging by not taking a vacation to recharge? I’m not talking about your weekends that are packed with activities, or holidays where you do more work than relax.

No, that type of “free time” only costs energy. I’m talking about resting with a very specific reason: To recharge your battery so you can get back to living a productive life.

A break reduces stress and improves productivity.

Scientific research shows that a vacation decreases perceived job stress and burnout. Now, that’s a pretty solid benefit of taking a few days off. But there’s more.

As you may know, I’m always interested in productivity. In the case of resting or a vacation, my question is:

Will I get more things done when I get back?

The answer is yes, but there’s one major thing to keep in mind. But let’s back up a bit: What does it mean to get more done? Getting things done has nothing to do with time—if you work more hours, you don’t necessarily get more done.

In fact, research shows that working more hours general means less productivity.

Why? Well, we often waste time if we have a lot of it. It’s simple: If I say to you, you have a year to write an article. What would you do? Put it off until tomorrow, right?

But what if I tell you that you only have 2 hours? You’ll probably get started right away. So in a way, having more days off, and fewer days to work, forces you to be more effective with your time.

Research shows that a vacation in itself won’t make you more productive, but when you have more days off, you have a strong desire to get more things done in less time.

And that’s a win-win situation for everybody: You, your business, or your job. You take off a few days, recharge, spend time with your family or friends, and when you come back, you’re more productive.

Sounds great. But wait, there’s a caveat.

When your vacation is stressful, the positive benefits go away. So keep the stress at a minimum on your holiday. Otherwise, you’ve wasted a perfect opportunity to relax and boost your overall productivity.

I recently felt I needed a break for several reasons. I had a few injuries that didn’t seem to go away and had less energy. I could have powered through, but instead, I decided to go on a vacation with my family. For a week, I did absolutely no work. And when I came back, I was full of energy.

Here are a few tips that might help you to take a break that fully recharges you.

1. Do What You Want

There are no rules for taking vacations and everybody relaxes in a different way. If you like to plan your holiday, just do it. If you want to go with the flow, then do that.

Want to wake up early? Do it. Don’t like waking up early? Sleep in. Even if you go on a vacation with your partner, friends, or family, you don’t have to be together 24/7. You can also sometimes do things that you enjoy.

The key is to not have expectations on your vacation. Let go of everything. I also don’t like to post vacation pictures on social media. Otherwise, I’m constantly thinking about taking a cool picture so I can impress others.

You’ll probably even do things you wouldn’t do just to take a picture. “I really need to rent a jet ski so I can take a picture with it.” No, you don’t.

Who cares? Focus on enjoying the moments you experience. Whatever those moments may be.

2. Read

Bill Gates is famous for his voracious reading habit. He is also known for his ‘Think Week’ where does nothing else but read and think.

You don’t have to be Bill Gates to think about your life and career. We all have our daily, weekly, and monthly routines. Usually, routines and habits work very well. However, you can also get stuck inside a loop.

That’s why I recommend you to step back from your daily life and career. If you do that, two things can happen: When you step away, you miss your daily life and can’t wait to pick up where you left off.

Or, the opposite will happen. You don’t want to go back. See that as a sign that you need to make a change. Either way, a break always serves a purpose. It doesn’t only help you to recharge, it will also make you think.

That’s why I like to read for hours on my vacation.

3. Get Bored

One of my favorite strategies for finding new ideas is to get bored out of my mind. It sounds easier than it is because of distractions.

In the past, I would do everything to NOT get bored: Watch TV, go out, browse Facebook, etc. But did you know that you can use boredom to your advantage?

Instead of giving into distractions, just give into the boredom and see it leads your mind to. In fact, one of my favorite artists of all time, Andy Warhol, embraced boredom. You can tell by the boring films he made or the references he made in The Philosophy Of Andy Warhol about getting bored.

Whenever I hit a creative wall, I just do nothing. Literally, nothing. Try it sometime. It’s a great strategy; maybe you come up with the next best thing in your industry.

It’s never a good time to take a break.

  • “I just need to finish this project.”
  • “My boss will never accept it.”
  • “People will think I’m lazy.”
  • “I don’t have time.”
  • “My family needs me.”

Yeah, yeah, I’ve been there too. But what would you rather: Continue to work without resting and burn out? Or take some rest before you’re tired?

So before you use all those valid reasons to not take a break, think about what all the people in your life have to do if you’re not here anymore. Yes, you’re important. So take care of yourself. Take a break and come back with more energy.

Myths and facts about puberty.

Parents have a tendency to feel a sense of dread when confronted by the onset of puberty. That dread seems particularly acute among fathers with growing daughters, presumably because they lack a frame of reference and because puberty in girls remains a borderline taboo subject (for a host of cultural reasons we don’t need to get into here). Where mystery abides, so too does mythology. And there are a lot of myths about the way in which girls go through puberty, many of them stigmatizing and bizarre. As it turns out, puberty is simply a child development process. There is nothing special about it. The weird emotional baggage that comes with it? You can put that down.

As puberty begins for a girl, it’s important that her parents look past the myths. Because more than anything they stand in the way of what can be a tumultuous time for young women, who will need their parents’ guidance. Yes, both of their parents. Many parents conflate a girl’s menarche, of first menses, with the onset of puberty. As if, up until that point nothing has really been happening. But the fact is that puberty is a long process and has likely been occurring for years prior to the first awkward ask for menstrual pads and pain relievers. The fact is that puberty can start anytime after a girl is 8 years old. The earliest signs of puberty may include breast growth and body odor. A typically developing girl will generally start producing the hormones that promote hair growth in the armpits and groin around 14, with the first period arriving about a year later.

There has been plenty of casual observation in the last decade or so that puberty seems to be happening sooner. Many parents simply shrug off the knowledge as more of a factual curiosity than a condition that could have long-term effects on a child’s health. But early puberty can set a child up for serious issues in the future.Essentially, early puberty works to accelerate maturity. But not just physical maturity. It’s also been linked with an increase in social problems like early drug use and sexual activity resulting in teen pregnancy. Studies have also suggested links to health problems including depression and some reproductive cancers.

Puberty is happening so early that some doctors and endocrinologists have suggested moving the “standard” onset of puberty to as early as 6 or 7-years-old. And there are a host of reasons why puberty could be occurring in girls so young. On recent study found that poverty is linked to early puberty. The research suggests that an impoverished mothers health can send signals to a developing fetus to develop more rapidly in order to reach reproductive age sooner after birth. And some research suggests that diet can also play a role. One longitudinal study found that girls who were obese were more likely to start puberty early.

There’s an idea that young men going through puberty are really stinky. And that’s actually true. But girls don’t get a pass on puberty stink. Their biology creates the same conditions that cause boys to smell too.The stink occurs as kids begin to sweat more due to hormonal changes. But it’s not the run of the mill forehead sweat causing the issue, it’s the oily sweat that secreted by what are known as sebaceous glands that produce oils. These oils are a particular favorite for bacteria who congregate in the dank spaces and create the odor. Importantly, these bacteria do not care if they are on a boy or a girl. The are equal opportunity stinkers.

Talking to girls about puberty can be completely nerve-wracking for dads whose experience growing up through puberty feels markedly different than what they are witnessing. But by treating the subject as taboo, Dads are inadvertently adding a layer of shame to a process that should be free of shame.

Sure, reading that won’t necessarily make it easier for dads to talk to daughters about puberty, but perhaps it can act as motivation. The important part for Dads is to stay as chill and matter-of-fact about the process of puberty as possible. That means answering questions honestly and talking about body parts without using euphemisms. It also means admitting when your ignorant about an issue and not asking her about her period in front of her friends

Learn to Apologize

Photo by Brett Jordan on Pexels.com

Apologize when u do a mistake.Sounds cliche right?

But it has a deep meaning and significance.

There are two possibilities either you have done something for which you should genuinely apologize and second is you have not done anything wrong but still being accused.

Let’s discuss the former ,

If and when a mistake is committed by you be it intentionally or unintentionally, apologize for it.

It may so happen that your actions/words didn’t directly culminate to a mistake but have adverse indirect effects. So ,by keeping your heart out of ego ,empathizing with the victim , just apologize.

Your mistake might not feel big to you but could be grave or fatal for the other party.

You might have caused deep cuts by your words, causing injury to their soul.

Irrespective of your awareness of the grief, apologize.

It will not just Help them move on but also help yourself from avoiding any further regret. A man Can live poorly But living with guilt It’s some thing no one can afford.

So for the sake of your own selfishness at least, learn to apologize.

It is not easy to become brave and accept your mistakes. But it is wise and appropriated.Bowing down doesn’t make you weaker,it only helps you grow as a person.Self introspection grows stronger and your quest to success begins.Identifying and realising your mistake is an indication of self awareness and diluted self ego.

So next time you cause hurt, mental or physical intention or unintentional

Apologize.

Now the question is when you know you have not done wrong and the other party is falsely accusing you. After self introspection you come to know that you aren’t at fault,no facts support you are wrong and the other party is falsely framing you for selfish purposes.

Do this,

First of all realise that this person is not your friend if s-he does something like this.Cut off this toxic person.

Do not apologize when you aren’t wrong.Take your stand. You aren’t nothing to bow down when you are right.Stand up for what you believe.

Provide facts or statements of your right.Convince those who care about your arguments. Those who do not care won’t care even if you are right.

Give counterarguments .Do not sit down helplessly. If the person is important to you then try to explain yourself if not once then thrice. If s-he doesn’t trust you regardless, leave.

Trust is an important tenet of any relationship-friendship.If you cannot trust you ,you should not keep them.

You need to achieve a balance between right and wrong.

A wrong means for a right future is not always justified.

So today’s mantra-

Organize yourself, your thoughts and never bow down your ideals to someone who doesn’t value you or your thoughts.

Care for yourself just like you would care for others.

When wrong,do not shy away from apologizing.

SELF LOVE

You must have hear this word used frequently by many Instagram influencers, celebrities, influential people saying self love is so important for your growth, for yourself now let’s see what’s the real meaning of ”Self-love” , well it means that you accept yourself fully, treat yourself with kindness and respect, and nurture your growth and wellbeing. Well in simple words loving yourself and accepting the way you are, it’s easier to say than it’s done, self love needs you to understand yourself fully, to make sure you are okay with yourself, to accepts your flaws, just to be ‘You’.

When you love yourself, you have an overall positive view of yourself. This doesn’t mean you feel positive about yourself all the time. That would be unrealistic! For example, I can temporarily feel upset, angry, or disappointed with myself and still love myself. If this is confusing, think about how this works in other relationships. A mother loves his son no matter how disappointed and angry she is with him, at the end of the day she cares because she loves him, she accepts him the way he is. This love allow her to forgive him, Well self love is very much the same which means if you know how to love others, you know how to love yourself.

There are some examples which shows what self love looks like-

  • Saying positive things to yourself
  • Forgiving yourself when you mess up
  • Meeting your own needs
  • Being assertive
  • Not letting others take advantage of or abuse you
  • Prioritizing your health and wellbeing
  • Spending time around people who support you and build you up (and avoiding people who don’t)
  • Asking for help
  • Letting go of grudges or anger that holds you back
  • Recognizing your strengths
  • Valuing your feelings

Self-love is the foundation that allows us to be assertive, set boundaries and create healthy relationships with others, practice self-care, pursue our interests and goals, and feel proud of who we are. so accept yourself, love yourself because you are one of a kind.

How one family single-handedly caused a drug epidemic in USA

In the Louvre museum paris , the slacker family used to have a dedicated sackler wing. The Smithsonian has the Arthur M. Sackler Gallery. All around the world the sacklers have invested in art. Unfortunately the sacklers are far from dedicated art patrons.

In 1952, three brothers  Arthur, Raymond and Mortimer bought a small pharma company called purdue- frederick. The company is now known for their drug oxycontin that it has found to be a huge part in the opioid epidemic in the United states.

In 1971,  Richard Sackler, the son of Raymond Sackler began working for Purdue Pharma as an assistant to his father, the company’s president. He was promoted to the positions of director of research and development and director of marketing.

Richard Sackler had a pivotal role in the development of Oxycontin, serving as the driving force behind Purdue Pharma’s research in the 1990s .

In the 1980s, there was a boom in the hospice sector i.e. care for terminally ill. During this time, Purdue released Ms Contin– a morphine based drug for Cancer patients. This was a massive success but Purdue knew they had to do more since the patent was soon going to expire and the fact that Ms contin was a morphine based drug stigmatized it.

So they created a new drug, oxycontin with the active ingredient oxycodone replacing the morphine many doctors falsely believe that oxycodone was weaker than morphine the truth was the active ingredient in oxycontin oxycodone was in fact 50% stronger than morphine later in an unpublished study by Purdue in 1999 the company found that the addiction rate was 13% not 1% the FDA  even  approved a claim the oxycontin’s delayed absorption would reduce the probability of abuse the FDA examiner he was involved in the approval of this claim left the FDA shortly and within two years had accepted a role at Purdue.

Russell Portenoy and J. David Haddox were also recruited by Sackler to engage inside the medical community to promote a new narrative suggesting that opioids were not extremely addictive.

Purdue pursued an “aggressive” campaign to promote the use of opioids in general and OxyContin in particular. In 2001 alone, the company spent $200 million in an array of approaches to market and promote OxyContin.

The Promotion and Marketing of OxyContin: Commercial Triumph, Public Health Tragedy(Art Van Zee, MD)

Over the years researchers found strong correlations between areas of high ovepaying rdose rates to high prescription rates. This is how the truth slowly came out. Research indicates that there is a strong correlation between regions of high opioid prescription rates and high overdose rates

Patrick Radden Keefe, in an interview for his book ‘Empire of pain’ on the sackers revealed that during research he found emails that explicitly stated the fact that doctors were not aware that oxycodone is stronger than morphine and they should keep it like that .

Today, Purdue and the Sacklers agreed to a $270 million settlement with the state of Oklahoma over their role in the crisis. Purdue will pay $195 million and the Sacklers $75 million.

Yes, they will pay billions of dollars for their role in causing the opioid epidemic. But when the cases are settled, they will walk away from the lawsuits— still billionaires.

SEASONAL FOODS

“Your diet is a bank account. Good food choices are good investments.” – Bethenny Frankel

Seasonal food refers to the times of year when the harvest or the flavour of a given type food is at its peak. This is usually the time when the item is harvested, with some exceptions; an example being sweet potatoes which are best eaten quite a while after harvest. It also appeals to people who prefer a low carbon diet that reduces the greenhouse gas emissions resulting from food consumption . Macrobiotic diets emphasise eating locally grown foods that are in season.

Some weather conditions, found only in a particular season, are favourable for the growth of the fruit. For example,  mango fruit, it needs the hot temperature of the summer to ripen, along with some light summer showers.

The seasonal fruits and vegetables have all the vitamins and nutrients that our body needs in that particular season. So, it is wise to eat the fruits and vegetables when it’s their season because the seasonal fruits are affordable and since they are more abundant, we can stock them up.

➡️Benefits of Eating Seasonal Products :

• Reduced Carbon Footprint

• Reduced Pesticide Consumption

• High Intensity Nutrients

Seasonal fruits and vegetables that naturally ripen in the sun are fresher, taste better and have the highest amount of nutrition, antioxidants . Consumption of seasonal products closer to the time of harvesting provides the most nutrition.

Some of the seasonal fruits and vegetables are –
Mango and litchi in summer.
Corn and jamun in rainy season.
Oranges, Guava , Strawberries and Grapes in winter.

PIZZA MELTS

What do you get when a grilled cheese and a pepperoni pizza have a baby? A PIZZA MELT! (Sorry for yelling, I’m excited.) I used to eat these as an after-school snack when I was growing up because they’re super easy and who doesn’t want pizza? But now, decades later, I took this pizza-inspired sandwich to the next level by adding an herby-Parmesan butter to the bread which creates an extra crispy finish. It’s to die for and way better than the pizza melts of my teen years. You’ve got to try it!

A stack of pizza melts cut in half on a plate against a blue background.

WHAT KIND OF BREAD TO USE FOR PIZZA MELTS
You definitely want to use some sort of sturdy bread for your pizza melt. If you try to use a soft white sandwich bread it just won’t hold up to the moisture in the pizza sauce. I used a sourdough loaf, which gave my pizza melts even more flavor. Something like a rosemary olive oil bread or some homemade focaccia would also be amazing. Just make sure the bread is strong!

WHAT ELSE CAN YOU PUT ON A PIZZA MELT?
A pizza melt, even in its most basic form (pizza sauce, cheese, pepperoni), is awesome, but if you happen to have some leftover ingredients on hand and you want to throw them on there, go for it! Here are a few ideas:

Diced bell pepper
Olives
Red onion
Bacon bits
Ham
Spinach
Mushrooms
Feta cheese
Banana peppers
Sun dried tomatoes
I would caution against using any ingredient that is very wet, like fresh tomatoes or canned artichoke hearts, since this can make the bread soggy.

Is there really a new variant of COVID-19 out there?

From the past couple of days, reports have been surfacing that a new variant of corona virus i.e. a delta variant can be found in a few patients. So how is this variant different and what we need to do to be cautious?

Just when we thought we were going back to normal now, Indian scientists detected a new delta plus variant in 22 samples from all over the country. First found in Jammu and Kashmir, this variant is now also seen in patients of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Kerala. 6 of those 22 sample are from Maharashtra and the remaining are divided between Kerala and Madhya Pradesh. 2 patients of this variant were reported in Ujjain district of Madhya Pradesh and death on one of them, a woman was reported on wednesday.

We are still not very clear about how and in what ways is this variant different from the others and does the vaccine we are provided with is effective on this virus. But yes this variant is yet not classifed as ‘variant of concern’ but we need to be concerned and take all the necessary precautions.

According to Dr. Mike Ryan who is the executive director of WHO, delta variant has a possibility “to be more fatal because it’s more efficient in the way it transmits between humans”. This variant is likely to affect the vulnerable people i.e. people with less immunity according to World Health Organization officials.

So, it is not over yet. Even if we are fully vaccinated let’s not be reckless and wear a mask and maintaing social distancing whenever we are out. Things will get better.

If Social Media Makes You Feel Bad, Quit Using It

YOU ARE YOUR BOSS!

Just admit it, you’ve thought about it before. Social media is great and all. But you and I both know that it also sucks.

Does this scenario sound familiar?

  • It’s late at night, you’re in bed, you dread waking up early tomorrow because you have to go to work, so you grab your smartphone, you open up Instagram (or whatever app you’re addicted to).
  • And you start browsing, you go from one picture to the next, you watch some videos, you start feeling bad about your life, because all the other people have fun, and you have to go to work in the morning.

Alright, we’re at a very bad place right now in that scenario. Because now the existentialism creeps in slowly. And finally, you think:

“My life is shitty compared to these other people. They look amazing, have money, travel the world, and they are important too. Who am I? I’m nothing. What have I done? Nothing! FML.”

And what do you do besides feeling like shit? Nothing. You just go on with your life and repeat that whole process the next day. And some days you counter the posts from other people by ‘crafting’ your own cool posts.

Just admit it, this whole thing is not cool. Of course, I’m exaggerating, and social media is not the source of all our problems. Don’t expect that your life will be awesome when you get rid of social media. I don’t believe in fairy tales.

But you get my point. Social media has a negative impact on many of us. Some people love it. If that’s you, there’s no need to read this article. But if you ever thought about quitting social media, keep reading.

Actually, just stop reading, and go on and delete the apps that make you unhappy.

Just follow the example of Louis C.K. When asked about why he quit Twitter in an interview, he said:

“It didn’t make me feel good. It made me feel bad instead. So I stopped doing it.”

That makes it very simple. If something makes you feel bad, stop using it.

It’s the opposite of the scientific approach to quitting social media that Cal Newport took. He makes some good points about why social media is bad for you.

But to me, that’s way too rational. And we’re not rational beings. We’re emotional. That’s why I like the approach of Louis C.K.

Here’s why I got rid of my social media.

I only used it for self-promotion. And I don’t like that. I don’t think that’s fair to people who follow you. So I got rid of my Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat. I only have Twitter and LinkedIn (for now). But if I don’t use them, I’ll get rid of them too.

This article is not about convincing you to do the same. Or about getting rid of all your social media profiles. All I’m saying is this: If you ever thought about quitting social media, just do it already.

You’re limiting yourself by not pulling the trigger. Now, you might say: “It’s just social media. Who cares?”

But you’re not getting off that easily. If you want to live a happy and stress-free life, you have to be decisive. When things linger in your head, it’s all dead weight. And you don’t want that.

What’s it going to be? Do you use social media or not? Does it make you happy? Does it improve your life or business?

I know what you’re thinking. “What if I ever need it?”

You don’t need anything for business or your career.

People who have stakes in social media will never tell you to stop using it. Why? Because their career depends on it.

But what did you think people did before social media? It’s all a matter of perspective. Many successful entrepreneurs I know have never used social media.

Is that why they’re doing well? There’s no way to tell. One thing is sure: You can do well in life with and without social media.

It’s up to you to decide. And it comes down to self-awareness. It’s also about simplifying life. Because it’s already complicated enough. Get rid of shit that doesn’t contribute anything to your life.

So what’s your perspective? Have you ever thought about quitting social media? Why did you never pull the trigger? Let me know in the comments.

Covid-19 Vaccines and Immunization

A COVID 19 vaccine is a vaccine intended to supply or improve immunity against severe acute respiratory syndrome corona virus 2 (SARS CoV 2), the virus that causes corona virus disease 2019 (COVID 19).

India began to vaccinate from 16 January 2021 . As of twenty-two June 2021, India has vaccinated 294,639,511 doses overall, including first and second doses of the currently-approved vaccines.

Vaccine, manufactured by the Bharat Biotech, may be a Whole-virion inactivated Corona virus Vaccine which is additionally manufactured by this institution and has reduced the productions of vaccines like Influenza, Rabies and Hepatitis- A.

EFFECT OF VACCINE:

Currently, a complete of seven COVID-19 vaccines are available across the world but only three vaccines are circulated in India. However, some people questions about the efficacy of those vaccines, especially the emergence of latest strains of the virus. Vaccines must be effective at that time which significantly reduces the spread of the virus for them to achieve success .

Research has demonstrated that the fashionable and therefore the mRNA-based Pfizer vaccines are 94-95% effective, and therefore the figures have proven true even in trials, studying those at high risk and the elderly.

It is a standard misconception that this suggests 95% who get the vaccine are shielded from the disease, leaving 5% unprotected. If this were true, during a population of 100,000 were vaccinated this is able to cause 5,000 people contracting the virus and developing the disease over three months. This rate is analogous to the present UK COVID-19 case rate.

The 95% effectiveness actually means people with the vaccine have a 95% lower risk of COVID-19 in comparison to an impact group. Without the vaccine, we might expect roughly 1% of the population to urge the disease, and with the vaccine, this reduces to 0.05%. At such low rates, the vaccines will allow society to urge back to ‘normal’ and for restrictions to be permanently eased.

ADVANTAGES OF VACCINES:

The best means of staying healthy is to avoid infection by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. If, however, you are doing become infected, vaccination appears to limit the danger of developing severe or maybe fatal symptoms. this is often because the currently available vaccine primes your immunological system for producing antibodies without causing you to urge sick. If you are doing become infected, your body is ready to fight the disease. Vaccination typically leads to fewer or milder symptoms when you’re ill

By getting the COVID-19 vaccine, you furthermore may lessen the prospect of spreading the COVID-19 pathogen to relations , friends, or people with whom you’ve got contact.

All FDA-approved medications are clinically tested before release to the general public . The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine has been shown to be 94-95 percent effective within fortnight of full inoculation. In other words, the vaccines will safeguard 19 out of each 20 persons inoculated from becoming seriously ill with COVID-19.

As with any vaccination, some side effects are recorded. These include soreness at the injection site, headaches, chills, fever, and fatigue. within the great majority of cases, these post-inoculation symptoms will disappear quickly. they’re also far less severe than the foremost serious COVID-19 symptoms.

The virus has spread across the planet , and therefore the inflection point has yet to be reached, indicating that transmission will still occur unless the virus is firmly controlled. Thus, developing a COVID-19 vaccine which will be used globally may be a major priority.

Health and Fitness

Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. This is the definition provided by the World Health Organization. Good health is generally the state of normal disease-free conditions. As per the report of Lalonde from Canada, the key factors of a persons health are broadly separated into 3 main categories- Lifestyle, this is usually the choices the individuals choices of day to day actions and products, Environment, which are the external factors of the individual, Biomedical, these factors are influenced by various genetic factors. Major reasons which lead to the fading health in an individual are diseases, malnourishment, injuries and lifestyle choices. Almost lakhs of people die from various diseases yearly due to lifestyle and cardiovascular diseases due to changes. There is also an increasing importance of mental well being recently. Medications of various types have been developed such as Allopathic, Ayurvedic and Homeopathic. What are these various categories of medication? Allopathic medication usually refers to the day to day medication we ingest in the form of tablets. These are usually composed of various chemical formulations and so on. Ayurveda and Homeopathy are more into the side of using natural products and ingredients. They are more focused on the usage of things directly from earth than synthesizing it.

Fitness during the pandemic has been of immense interest. People have a lack of access to gyms and other facilities due to the lockdowns and restrictions. Due to this sudden shift of schedule, people either do not work out or do too much. Both are equally harmful for the human body. There has been reports on an increase of feeding habits among individuals during the pandemic and due to the fear of body image there was also an increase in the addition of workouts on a day to day basis. Some tips to keep up with the fitness needs for any individual would be, do some kind of exercise for at least half an hour a day. This gives your body some time to move around and your metabolism to rise up again. Due to the constant sitting and doing work on our laptops sometimes we get confined to that area which harms us. We might not realize it now but over time we will as it also results in stiffness and fat deposition. Make small lifestyle changes such as walking while on a video call or a normal call with someone. These could really make a difference!
