IMPORTANCE OF EXERCISE

Who doesn’t like to look beautiful? But, for being the centre of attraction, you have to spend maybe a million dollars a year to feel contented. Myth alert! Do you know, you can look 10x younger without spending a single penny? Yes, you’ve read that right. The simple solution is EXERCISE!

Science says that a person who exercises regularly has a higher lifespan with more happy days, and the feeling of being confident enough is just endless.

Exercise continues to help millions of people stay fit and achieve their goals every day. Along with its many benefits, one major benefit of exercising is that it assists in preventing cardiovascular diseases. Regular exercise reduces your blood pressure and overall bad cholesterol. Not only this, it increases your good cholesterol levels as well — wow!

Every year, almost 70 million Americans are affected by insomnia (sleeplessness). And almost 40-50% of the adult population globally suffers from this condition. These figures are alarming. But, don’t worry. Exercise is here for our rescue. It is scientifically proven that exercise greatly improves the quality of sleep. Since exercise improves physical health, so by the end of the day, your body feels rested. And as a result, you stop turning and tossing your head in anticipation of a restful sleep all night.

Over the years, multiple types of research and studies have shown how inactivity has contributed to increasing an individual’s weight. However, exercise can help you lose weight as well.

To fully understand the effect of exercise on weight loss, it is important to first understand the connection between body energy consumption and exercise.

Your body uses energy in three ways:

1) Digestion

2) Exercise

3) Maintaining heartbeat & breathing

During digestion, a lower calorie intake lowers your metabolic rate, which, in the meantime, aids in delaying weight loss.  On the other hand, regular exercise increases your metabolic rate, and resultantly, your body burns more calories and you begin to lose weight. No, that’s not magic. Its science.

Depression and anxiety have found their places in our minds. Even burnouts are forcing people to take pricey therapy sessions. But, it’s about time you should kiss goodbye to all those factors that make your feel depressed.

Exercise is the answer. Yes, exercise releases chemicals like endorphins and serotonin that lift your spirits and give you a positive feeling. It can also help you combat loneliness and make you a sociable person altogether.

When we think about or read about exercise, one question that frequently comes to mind is, “How much exercise is enough?” Actually, it depends on your age and medical condition. However, it is advised to exercise for at least 30 minutes each day to live a happy and healthy life.

World Pneumonia Day

Every year on November 12, there is a celebration called World Pneumonia Day to increase awareness of the illness. Here is all the information you require on the signs, causes, and remedies for pneumonia.

World Pneumonia Day: Pneumonia, an acute respiratory infection frequently brought on by a virus or bacteria, is the leading infectious cause of death in both adults and children, killing 2.5 million people worldwide in 2018, including 6,72,000 children. The current spike in Covid pneumonia infections is anticipated to dramatically increase the overall number of pneumonia-related mortality.

Every year on November 12, there is a celebration called World Pneumonia Day to increase awareness of the illness.

The burden of pneumonia in India is 23% of the global total, and case fatality rates range from 14% to 30%.

It continues to be the greatest cause of death in children worldwide, with India accounting for 20% of those deaths and having the highest prevalence of paediatric pneumonia of any nation.

More information regarding the many varieties of pneumonia, their origins, symptoms, prevention, and treatment is provided by Dr. Viswesvaran Balasubramanian, Consultant Interventional Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine, Yashoda Hospitals Hyderabad.

What is Pneumonia?

Pneumonia is the medical term for any illness that results in an inflammatory response in the lungs. Even though bacterial illnesses account for the bulk of pneumonia cases, viral infections like influenza or the COVID-19 virus can also affect the lungs and seriously harm them through inflammation, as the ongoing pandemic has shown.

Causes of Pneumonia

In India, tuberculosis is still a prominent factor in pneumonia, especially in low-income individuals and those with weakened immune systems. It has been noted that persons who smoke, who have a history of drinking or using other illegal drugs, or who have underlying chronic respiratory disorders like COPD have a higher risk of pneumonia.

Other factors that can cause pneumonia

1) inadequate dietary intake, particularly in children

2) improper ventilation in work or residence

3) underlying immunodeficiency illnesses, such as HIV, present

4) those who use steroids or other immunosuppressant drugs for autoimmune diseases or organ transplants

5) People with uncontrolled diabetes are more likely to develop pneumonia.

Symptoms of Pneumonia

1) Most pneumonia patients typically have a high-grade fever with or without chills.

2) They can cough up phlegm that is yellow or green in color.

3) They might feel out of breath.

4) A small percentage of patients may also have chest pain, sporadic bloody coughing, or appetite loss.

5) Patients with serious conditions may also get bloodstream infections and perhaps need a sophisticated life support system.

Diagnosis

The majority of pneumonia cases can be identified with a straightforward chest X-ray and routine blood tests, but a small number of patients may need a chest CT scan to rule out unusual pneumonia-related symptoms or consequences.

To determine the cause of pneumonia, further tests including sputum analyses are typically requested.

Recently, the development of rapid molecular assays like RT PCR has been used to make accurate diagnoses with a high degree of certainty.

To make an accurate etiological diagnosis, patients are occasionally subjected to invasive procedures like bronchoscopy. The key to treating this type of pneumonia is to start the right medications as soon as possible along with other supportive care.

Preventing Pneumonia

Adhering to timely immunization schedules, especially among high-risk groups, is one efficient strategy to avoid the occurrence of pneumonia. It has been demonstrated that several adult vaccines, including those for influenza and pneumococcal, are effective in lowering the prevalence and severity of bacterial pneumonia in adults.

It is essential to ensure appropriate COVID-19 vaccination given the ongoing pandemic.

Other lifestyle changes might reduce the risk of contracting pneumonia, such as quitting smoking and drinking, eating right, getting regular exercise, avoiding crowding, and managing blood sugar levels appropriately in diabetic individuals.

World Polio Day 2022

World Polio Day, observed each October 24, raises awareness of polio immunization and polio eradication around the world. The day commemorates the progress the world has made towards eradicating polio. The day highlights the efforts of frontline workers working to deliver vaccines in polio-affected countries.

World Polio Day 2022 Theme

The overarching theme for this year’s World Polio Day is ‘Healthy Futures for Mothers and Children. The theme calls on the world to recognize the progress made in the fight to eradicate polio and in efforts to create a healthier future for mothers. The goal is to provide mothers with a positive pregnancy experience and help their children grow up for a brighter, brighter future.

History and Significance

World Polio Day was established by Rotary International in 1985 to commemorate the birth of Jonas Salk, Chief Medical Investigator on the team that developed the polio vaccine. He developed his inactivated poliovirus vaccine, which was first used in 1955. It was further developed by Albert Sabin in the oral polio vaccine used in 1961. Today, polio vaccines are recommended worldwide, especially for children under the age of five, who are most susceptible.

On World Polio Day, Rotary International, WHO, and other global organizations will host several events to raise awareness of polio. Events range from gatherings, hikes, and webinars to hosting competitions in schools and clubs. No member is too small to contribute to the global fight to eradicate polio.

Polio-free India: India is more than nine years old since its last polio case:

In January 2020, it will be nine years since India’s last reported case of polio.

In a country once considered the most difficult to stop, this milestone demonstrates the importance of strong surveillance systems, intensive vaccination campaigns, and targeted social mobilization efforts. But until the disease is eradicated, India must remain vigilant.

The State of Polio in the World

Since 1988, the number of polio cases has decreased by 99.9%. The African region is now also free of wild poliovirus. Only two countries (Afghanistan and Pakistan) continue to report wild poliovirus.

About Polio

Polio is a highly contagious viral disease that primarily affects young children (under the age of five). The virus is primarily transmitted from person to person via the fecal-oral route, but rarely via common carriers (such as contaminated water or food).

Symptoms

The first symptoms are fever, malaise, headache, vomiting, stiff neck, and body aches. One in 200 infections causes irreversible paralysis, usually in the legs. 5-10% of paralyzed people die when their respiratory muscles fail.

E- LEARNING: A BOON OR BANE?

Our educational system has currently undergone a paradigm transition, not just in terms of resources and content, but also in terms of manner. E-books replaced hardcovers, Google Classrooms replaced project files, tablet displays replaced whiteboards, and virtual meetings replaced classroom contact.

The COVID-19 issue has already interrupted numerous industries, including education. The disappearance of conventional classrooms is one of the many casualties of COVID-19. While online courses existed before the pandemic, they had a distinct function for students, such as providing access to modules if they did not have the means or augmenting what they were taught in actual classrooms. Back then, online learning was never intended to be the primary form of instruction. However, because of social distancing restrictions and lockdowns, online classrooms have become the principal source of educational teaching for pupils of all ages. Sugarcoating the current situation does not assist or make it any easier for us: online learning is difficult. Education is intended to be passed on through human interaction. Storytelling was the original kind of education: people all over the world used stories to pass down knowledge, history, beliefs, and customs. Stories are vital to everything that makes us human. While the online learning platform is really beneficial, it takes away what we as people are designed for social thinking, meaningful interactions, and true connection. Humans have a basic need for food and shelter, but we also have a basic urge to belong to a community and develop connections. Most of our thoughts, behaviours, and feelings are motivated by the desire to be in a loving relationship, to fit in at school, to avoid rejection, to be well-liked, to have fun with friends, to get along with family, and to check in on social media. Life is tough, people are complicated, and transitioning from traditional schooling to online education is no easy task. But, just as every coin has two sides, there are certain positive elements to this transformation that cannot be overlooked. Online education enables on-time study, degree completion, and completion without any delay or gap. It’s a stroke of luck that you were born in the digital age, where you have the resources and means to profit from online education. Online schooling has its advantages. It provides ‘flexibility,’ since you may learn at your own speed using recorded videos. It also accommodates your comfort level and allows you to study from home. Online education has also proven to be a blessing for folks in need of sometime time’ in the middle of life’s hustle and bustle. This might be an excellent time to focus on regular sleep, regular exercise, good eating, and regular work hours. We can now enjoy that activity we put off for so long. I propose that you schedule certain study/work hours. Even in this new format, embrace the greatest things. Make it clear to your colleagues that you care about them. Find meaningful and one-of-a-kind methods to interact with others during this time. When things return to normal, your tenacity in the face of adversity will undoubtedly propel you ahead.

United Nations Day

Every year on October 24, the United Nations Day holiday is honoured. It honours the formal creation of the United Nations in 1945. On this day, the majority of signatories to the UN Charter, including the five permanent members of the Security Council, did so, officially establishing the UN. The Day was first observed in 1948. In 1971, the UN additionally urged the member states to observe it as a national holiday.

Why do we celebrate United Nations Day?

United Nations Day is significant because it honours diversity. Today has been designated as a holiday honouring the variety of cultures, religions, and languages that exist around the world. On this day, nations get together to advance the notions of amity and peace between people of various ancestries.

Every year on October 24, we remember the day the United Nations was established. The UN is renowned for its work in promoting international harmony and providing humanitarian aid. This serves to emphasise the importance of:

1)Diversity

2)The cooperative spirit among nations

3)Equality

4)Peace

5)Unity

6)Universal respect for justice and international law

7)Human rights, fundamental freedoms

What is UN

Immediately following the conclusion of World War II, the United Nations was established. It succeeded the unsuccessful League of Nations with the intention of stopping new hostilities. It is an intergovernmental organisation whose principal duty is to uphold international stability.

It is essential for developing international cooperation, accomplishing state cooperation, and acting as a centre for global coordination.

On April 25, 1945, fifty states gathered in San Francisco to begin drafting the UN Charter, which was eventually approved on June 25, 1945. What do we do on United Nations Day?

On United Nations Day, there are no restrictions on what we can achieve. International attendees congregate and participate in a range of festivities-related activities.

In some areas, parades are organised to unite people of all nationalities in joy. People can receive an invitation to share their favourite dinner with friends and relatives travelling from different nations. A unified celebration is based on the idea that we should come together as a single people to celebrate our diversity and our respect for other people’s cultures and beliefs.

Okay??

Basically everyone expects the normal student lifestyle with proper and regular routine or schedule to follow for a student even that student too.But Eventually mine is bit different.Different lifestyle is not a decision of mine but the wise decision is something that to accept this difference.
Like all other students I’m also a student of a regular class of academic course at a high named Central University. But the thing is I’m not capable of interacting with people or Hodge podge anymore,The reason behind is something I’m not blaming but before Corona pandemic i was not that what I’m now.I feel anxious and low from deep down to be in gathering,it’s became tough to hear more than one sound hitting my ears, even sunrays and a close conference room makes me uncomfortable.
But taking these all wisely i chose to work from my room ,even class work , activities, projects and all doing individually that makes me feel really good.My elders and professors are understandable enough.I order food or cook sometimes,i ate,i do work like personal stuffs too,I enjoy myself ,watch movies, series etcetera it’s also appreciable for me to write about my lifestyle cause I’m living my own way with no glitches or now atleast and it’s working literally, every well wishers hoping to see me out or be social like before i was,but here I’m not only hoping but working on it too.
What do you think, does it sound like a normal lifestyle? If I’m the only one who is facing this? The answer is Big Noo…
As of now things are getting recovered after the pandemic, One after one has faced different phases but the outcome is the same It is Anxiety, depression or phobea and many health issues as well as mental issues. They try to be social,to be active and involved like they were before Pandemic. But there and then remember one thing that things will get worse when we push it to show surroundings that we are okay and internally we continuously go deep down by doing this.

    So just let it be,
If you don’t want to be in gather just make a space where you can feel atleast not bad than to be in gathering.
If you don’t wanna hear something/someone just listen to you for yourself to make Comfortable atleast.
Don’t wanna go out or see something just feel for yourself and work yourself to do productice that can be seen for a single time atleast.
Atleast eat a bite and drink a drop to immune your brain that is continuously running without break.
Don’t wanna describe yourself to anyone, just don’t do but focus on yourself to make your personality and let it describe your victory.
Not feeling okay is too short to say, just don’t say… but i have one oath to say that is;It’s totally okay to not be Okay. Okayy?
