WILL OTT PLATFORMS REPLACE MOVIE THEATRES IN FUTURE ?

Over The Top (OTT) platforms are on-demand content streaming services which provide the viewers access to movies and TV shows directly through the internet rather than using broadcasting mediums like cable TV, satellite TV etc. Some of the most common OTT platforms are NETFLIX, AMAZON PRIME VIDEO, HOTSTAR etc. The spontaneous boom of OTT platforms happened out of the blue when people were forced to stay back at their homes during lockdowns imposed due to the ongoing COVID 19 pandemic. The major advantage of OTT services over the traditional platforms is the convenience of watching favourite shows at our fingertip within the comforts of our home at a reasonable cost.

Recent reports have shown that the OTT platforms promises the low budget films with less saleable names, a larger audience with a considerable slashed cost on advertisement and distribution. With the shutdown of movie theatres, OTT releases of latest movies became a new trend. In view of the rapidly increasing consumers, the OTT platforms have now shifted their focus onto creating contents on their own meeting the varying demands and tastes of its viewers.

The discourse on positioning the OTT streaming platforms and theatres is a present-day development in the entertainment sector. Cinema being one of the worst hit industries during the pandemic found itself in a greater challenge of sustenance. The effect nudged to the surface by this crisis was evenly handed for both the movie lovers and film industrial workers. This opens the door to the heroic entrance of OTT platforms saving both parties, granting industry the monetary benefits and viewers a platform to entertain themselves within their homely comforts at an affordable rate which propounds a win-win situation. Having said that, the inaccessibility of the OTT services to a large mass counts as the worst part as it is the working middle class people, the so called majority consumers, who contribute to more than 75% of the viewership leaving the rest 25% to decide between poor, lower middle class and elites. The OTT  results in the shutting down of entertainment to the unfortunate for whom technology is still a luxury.

OTT platforms are never a newly discovered competition for theatres as they have lived through the worst times and challenges during VCRs, DVDs and the still relevant piracy days. This testifies the unending interest  people carry for the theatrical experiences and any alteration is beyond thought. Though the OTT media services are propelled by the rise in the standard of living, evolution of smartphones, and affordable internet connectivity; socialising and community viewing experience from theatres will remain unmatched. Moreover, the real like involvement  offered  by big screens  is something the streaming platforms can never tone with . In conclusion, OTT platforms can coexist with the theatres but never top it.

WHEN THE GATEWAY FOR INDIANS TO HOLLYWOOD CLOSES

After their two decades of service, the renowned English film channel HBO which served as a gateway for Indians to Hollywood Movies, has discontinued its airing in India on 15th December 2020. WarnerMedia International has already announced that they will be shutting down HBO and WB movies in other South Asian countries including Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Maldives along with India by the end of the year 2020. This decision was taken as a result of the shifting market dynamics with the introduction of OTT streaming platforms like Amazon Prime, Netflix e.t.c. Even though there was an exponential growth in the number of viewers preferring to view contents in english, TV channels like HBO and WB were unable to capitalize on this, but to loose their grounds owing to the stringent competition from the on demand streaming platforms.

“After 20 years of successes for the HBO linear movie channel in South Asia and more than a decade with the WB linear movie channel, this was a difficult decision to make. The pay-TV industry landscape and the market dynamics have shifted dramatically, and the Covid-19 pandemic has accelerated the need for further change,” said Siddharth Jain, senior vice president and managing director for WarnerMedia’s entertainment networks in South Asia.

WarnerMedia International is planning for a resurgence to the South Asian market through launching their own streaming service named HBO Max. But for the time being, they will be offering their content through Disney’s streaming platform. They have also declared that their entertainment organization will continue its broadcasting in popular kids channels like Cartoon Network, POGO e.t.c in the South Asian region. They are planning to invest more in this stream, with a focus on local animation production.

For Gen Z Indians, HBO has always been a part of their childhood. They were introduced to the world of Hollywood movies through the channel. Though the newly introduced OTT platforms provide great contents, for most of the Indians who grew up watching the likes of Harry Potter, Home Alone series, e.t.c, the shutdown of HBO will be considered as a great loss.

IPL Fun with a Trick.

There is no doubt in the saying “It is not only a game, it is festival of India”. And every year it amazes us like we are kid and it always surprise us with a chocolate.

Hello there, As you all are I’m also become an IPL lover. But, trust me I was not. Because at first I thought these all games are fixed or kind of scripted. And soon enough I realized that my perception needs to be changed. Man! In this year 2020, IPL is the only good things happening after work from home. Don’t you believe, huh!

I’m not going to preach you about the game or about any player. Come on you all are fully aware about it , and I know it perfectly. Today, all I wanted to talk about those how are too attached to this game that it brings a kind of personal loss to them. Are you all are mad or what? Like, I know that there should be something which motivates you to do it. But, you all must have heard that it’s the path that is beautiful not the destination.

I came up with an idea that I don’t support any particular team at all. That thing is scary and depressing. So, all I do is enjoy a match. And I’m sure you all do, but, I enjoy in different manner. Like, there must be some time when you get sad because your team player got out, or you get happy because your team player hit a six. But, for me I’m happy in the both the case. Like I don’t enjoy a game from one point but the both point of view. From the bowler and the batting team.

This technique not only increase my level of excitement for the IPL but it also save me from any personal sadnesses, like my younger brother have.

Think about and you have your choice. So, tell me what you want to say about this topic down belon in comment section. Till then

Tiger Shroff Sings Unbelievable

The Tiger Shroff song “Unbelievable” is out, and it has literally nothing new to offer. The romantic track has been sung by Shroff, with music and lyrics by Avitesh Shrivastava and DG Mayne, respectively. The music video has been helmed by Punit Malhotra, who had also directed Shroff in Student Of The Year 2.

Tiger Shroff channels his idol Micheal Jackson in 'Unbelievable' singing debut

The video sees Shroff trying to romance a woman, who ultimately falls for him. During this whole act, we also see the actor showing off some of his dance moves, which only slightly elevates the track from what it actually is — a mediocre piece of work.

Nothing about “Unbelievable” is novel. Tiger Shroff’s voice has been heavily auto-tuned, and the video has been partially shot in black-and-white for no good reason. There is no story, the music is derivative and the ‘Hinglish’ lyrics, even more so. The music video of “Unbelievable” has been produced by Big Bang Music and Dharma 2.0.

TRAIN TO BUSAN :A MUST WATCH THRILLER

Train to Busan  is a 2016 South Korean action horror movie directed by Yeon Sang- ho and starring Gong Yoo, Jung Yu-mi and Ma Dong-Seok .The film mostly takes place on a train to Busan as a Zombie  suddenly breaks out in the country and threatens the safety of the passengers.

Screen Asia: "Train to Busan" Halloween Horror and Costume Contest | Asia Society

The film premiered in the Midnight Screenings section of the 2016 Cannes film festival on 13 May. On 7 August, the film set a record as the first Korean film of 2016 to break the audience record of over 10 million theatergoers. The film serves as a reunion for Gong Yoo and Jung Yu-mi, who both starred in the 2011 film The Crucible. A sequel, Peninsula , was released in South Korea on July 15, 2020.

Train to Busan' Review - Cannes Film Festival 2016 - Variety

Sok-woo, a father with not much time for his daughter, Soo-ahn, are boarding the KTX, a fast train that shall bring them from Seoul to Busan. But during their journey, the apocalypse begins, and most of the earth’s population become flesh craving zombies. While the KTX is shooting towards Busan, the passenger’s fight for their families and lives against the zombies – and each other.

Train to Busan brings absolutely nothing new to the zombie genre, but it shows that lack of novelty needn’t be a handicap at all. It has everything you’d expect in a zombie film: The close calls, the mass slaughters, the long chases. A lot of it is quite beautifully shot. A crucial shot of a self-sacrificing man is shown as a shadow… a dark figure of a man who, during the course of the film, manages to turn to light. The film is full of such delicious ironies. A man who isn’t allowed entry into a train compartment by another finds the tables turned later in the film. A homeless man, viewed throughout with suspicion by the other characters, is the reason two upper-class women survive. A woman who’s expecting a child is forced by circumstances to accept another. A girl whose singing falters on account of her father’s lack of support, sings her best when he’s gone forever. Such symmetry in writing doesn’t happen accidentally.

The film is more World War Z than Zombieland. It seeks to thrill; the laughs are very few, like the scene in which a man frustrated at the zombie’s rabid need to bite, shouts, “Are you crazy?!” I wish there had been more such moments, but what it lacks for in amusement, it makes up for in depth — a selfish man, for instance, is forced to destroy himself for a greater good — and some generic albeit sapid commentary on class struggle.

From very early on, when the security try to force out a homeless man from the train, there’s a strong thread of ‘us versus them’ that permeates the film’s universe. In another scene, a father and daughter try to use connections to save themselves, but are ill at ease to learn that the homeless man joins them. If it was their own, another person of their ilk, they probably wouldn’t have been. Towards the end, it even blows over into a full-scale struggle in which the people holed up in a compartment—the comfortable people—refuse to grant entry to another group, suspecting them to be potentially dangerous. So strong is their distaste for this other that they take great pains to lock the door blocking them first before turning their attention to the zombies. So deep runs this mistrust that even zombies seem like the lesser evil. It’s rather revealing that the biggest villain, and in a film that is full of blood-thirsty zombies no less, is a rich man who leads this group against the other.

Descendants of the sun :MUST WATCH KOREAN SHOW

Television still of Descendants Of The Sun, starring Song Hye Kyo and Song Joong Ki.

Whether you love this show or hate it; whether you think it’s the drama gods’ gift to mankind or the most ludicrous thing to ever grace our screens – heck, whether you even watch kdrama or not – you just can’t ignore it.

When I first started watching Descendants of the Sun sometime last week, I had no idea how popular it was. During its original run in South Korea, it broke record ratings with a 28.5 percent viewership surpassing another insanely popular kdrama from two years ago called My Love From Another Star (that one was so popular, there’s going to be an American remake, although I don’t know what happened with that project) in only six episodes. It then continued to surpass its own ratings as the show went on. It currently has over 440 million views in China on legal and not-so-legal streaming sites and has been sold to 27 countries and translated into 32 languages.

I watched the first episode and at about maybe 20 minutes into the first episode, I had fallen head-over-heels in love.

Descendants of the Sun Review – Epic Romantic K-Drama

The story revolves around a special task force officer, Yoo Shi-Jin (Song Joong-Ki) and a surgeon Kang Mo-Yeon (Song Hye-Kyo) who meet under extraordinary circumstances. Their fate seems to collide again and again and they slowly realise their feelings for each other. Either their relationship will be strong enough to handle everything or will one be left behind forever.

Yoo Shi-Jin and Kang Mo-Yeon😍 indeed meet under extraordinary circumstances which leads to a misunderstanding. Yoo Shi-Jin is immediately attracted to the feisty surgeon but they don’t get enough time to know each other. When Kang Mo-Yeon and her team are sent to Urk for medical works, they come face to face once again and their incomplete story begins again. This show is kind of cheesy too but it’s worth it! I couldn’t stop smiling at some of the moments and most of their interaction was pretty hilarious!

Review – Descendants of the Sun | subtitledreams

But the story had its serious moments too, especially when the earthquake happened and everything was in chaos, also when the epidemic broke out, I loved how the characters handled things. It kept me on edge and I was glued to the screen to know what happened next! There were also a loooot of side characters and I definitely enjoyed the fact that all the main focus was on always on the main leads but we were getting to know about the others as well.

Descendants Of The Sun - Korean Drama Review

Anyway, their precious moments were interrupted a lot due to Yoo Shi-Jin emergency duty calls but they took their chance in the small moments possible. Their chemistry was crystal clear from the very start although the relationship slowly develops. (And I loooooove that now they are married in real life!!!) Trust was one of the most important factors and their trust in each other was the strongest! I absolutely loved the romance.

Also, I absolutely loved the secondary pair. Seo Dae-Young (Jin Goo) and Yoon Myeong-Joo (Kim Ji-Won) were just adorable!! Yoon Myeong-Joo was an army doctor but due to her father who was the General, Seo Dae-Young was forced to stay away from her. It broke my heart to see those two hurting but I loved when they finally stood up for each other!

K-Drama Review: Romance Between a Soldier and a Doctor in a War Zone in ' Descendants of the Sun' | Channel-K

Descendants of the Sun was a fantastic watch! One that will stay will me forever! The plot although a little cliched was executed perfectly and loved the characters and the romance!! But the last two episodes were kind of crazy, I didn’t feel it was necessary to do that of an extreme thing but well, I was satisfied in the end!

Anime : Van Hellsing

Hellsing follows the antiheroic vampire, Alucard, and a police girl-turned-vampire, Seras Victoria, two vampires employed by the vampire-extermination group of England, the Hellsing Organization. Slowly but surely, through their active duty, they find a new breed of vampires beginning to arise.

And if we want to summarize it three little words, That will be :- Crazy vampire murder.

You all must have seen Twilight saga, for Girls: Go for this animated version of vampire and we guarantee you, you are going to fall in love with this character.
And Boys:- Trust us, we know how was Twilight, so go for this animated version of badass vampire going out and killing like Dan Blezerian destroy cars from his tank. Voohhoooooooo

Important Notice:- Those are little bit cold hearted, don’t go for it because it’s not for kids to watch this much books and killing. Leave those stuff for big ones.

Weeks after recovering from COVID-19, bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan kickstarted the shoot of his quiz reality game show Kaun Banega Crorepati 12, as he shared pictures from the set  and wrote, “20 saal, 12wa parva, KBC: Kaun Banega Crorepati, aarambh! (sic)”.The pictures feature the production unit of the show clad in blue coloured PPE kits.”It’s back to work .. in a sea of blue PPE .. KBC 12 .. started 2000 .. today year 2020 .. 20 years ! Amaze .. that’s a lifetime,” Bachchan wrote in the caption of the post.

He added, “this was never expected .. never the time to see such visuals .. but there it is …. recognised faces now unrecognisable .. and the doubts whether we are in the right place , with the right people .. but .. we muster up the fears and be on …. there is great consideration and care being extended .. all precautions carefully worked out and followed …. precautions were there earlier too in times of distress .. but this time its severe .. its personal .. this time they know its fatality , God forbid .. and that lingers .. the lightheartedness has sealed itself .. isolated .. do the do and leave ..

“In July, four members of the Bachchan family including Big B, Abhishek, Aishwarya and Aaradhya tested positive for COVID19. Junior Bachchan took to Twitter to share the information with his fans. After undergoing treatment, the family recovered from the deadly virus. Abhishek had tweeted, “My father, thankfully, has tested negative on his latest Covid-19 test and has been discharged from the hospital. He will now be at home and rest. Thank you all for all your prayers and wishes for him.”

Hunger Games of the government…

The government holds too much power. This is very well portrayed in the Hunger Games a book trilogy written by American author Suzanne Collins later made into a science fiction dystopian film series. The story is basically how the government has too much power over the lives of common man, how and why it is so wrong. The story is takes place in the fictional country that goes by the name of Panem. It consists of 12 districts that have been assigned various disciplines under which the people of the district work. Naming a few, district 3 specializes in technology, district 11 in agriculture, district 12 in coal mining. District 12 being the smallest and the poorest. All these districts are forced to produce the assigned goods and no have no freedom. The Capitol is the government who enjoy all the riches and luxury while the other districts starve to death. The Capitol, for the sole purpose of entertainment, organises this game annually where two teenagers- a male and a female are forced to participate, locked in an area and have to fight each other to death. The one who survives is declared the winner.

On the big screen we may find it interesting but more interestingly the series is the best depiction of communism. We know that our government always wants to suppress us and gain full control over our lives. Hence this book or the movie series is a good way to give us some lesson in an entertaining manner.

The government’s control over the goods production in a district and no freedom of their own reminds us of the real world example of North and South Korea. Everyone is aware of the situation here. People in North Korea have no freedom it is only the governmental control over their lives and henceforth people are starving. On the contrary, South Korea is thriving. Former Soviet Union couldn’t find a permanent position due to the same reasons. It had too much control over the people and the people suffered. A government cannot work without the cooperation of its people. History holds records of how such controlling government led to their own decline. Panem government violates its people’s basic rights resulting in poverty and starvation and later a rebellion.

The Hunger Games also shows how the upper class lives in luxury in contrast to the middle class lives. It shows how the people of district 1 enjoy all the facilities and live a posh life. They do not have to wait in lines for hours to manage some food for the family. This demonstrates real life situation where the rich are getting richer and the poor even poorer. The government might show us false hope but it is the lower class people who are the fools. The horrors of communism in this book/movie is a good way to let the younger generation realise the truth about the world. Also teach us lessons to be smarter.

Thank you for reading. Have a nice day!

The Father of Indian Cinema

Satyajit Ray, Lata Mangeshkar, Dilip Kumar, Sivaji Ganesan, Asha Bhosle, Yash Chopra, Dev Anand, K. Balachander, Amitabh Bachchan are the list of Indian cinema legends who were honored by the Dadasaheb Phalke award, which is India’s highest award in cinema for “outstanding contribution to the growth and development of Indian cinema”. The man behind the name of this prestigious award is Dhundiraj Govind Phalke, popularly known as Dadasaheb Phalke, an Indian producer-director-screenwriter, known as the Father of Indian cinema.

An overall of 95 feature films and 27 short films, in his career, spanning 19 years, he is known as the Father of Indian cinema for writing, directing, producing, and distributing his debut movie, which is also India’s first movie Raja Harishchandra in 1913.

As a child, Phalke displayed great interest in the creative arts. Determined to pursue his dreams, he joined the Sir J.J. School of Art, Bombay (now Mumbai), in 1885. While there he pursued a variety of interests, including photography, lithography, architecture, and amateur dramatics, and he became adept even at magic. He briefly worked as a painter, a theatrical set designer, and a photographer. In 1908 Phalke and a partner established Phalke’s Art Printing and Engraving Works, but the business failed because of differences between them. It was Phalke’s chance viewing of the silent film The Life of Christ (1910) that marked a turning point in his career. Deeply moved by the film, Phalke saw it as his mission to bring all that was Indian to the moving picture screen. He went to London in 1912 to learn the craft from British pioneer filmmaker Cecil Hepworth. In 1913 he released India’s first silent film, Raja Harishchandra, a work based on Hindu mythology.

While there are news about him like, He had given several advertisements for seeking handsome actors for the lead role. But, these advertisements brought inadequate and non- professional talent and so, he was forced to add a line “ugly faces need not apply” and the miserable failure of his firm, the Phalke Diamond Company, a model studio to train technicians, actors. He made many more movies including renowned works like Mohini Bhasmasur in 1913, Satyavan Savitri (1914), Lanka Dahan (1917), Shri Krishna Janma (1918), and Kaliya Mardan (1919). which paved the way to the cinema industry we have now.

In recognition of Phalke’s contribution to the Indian cinema, the India government instituted the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1969, an award presented annually by the president of India for lifetime contribution to Indian cinema.

Why bollywood is destroying itself by Remix.

“Ye khaan aagye hmm, yunhi saath saath chlte” that’s exactly what we feel when we listen today’s songs. If this is what we say evolving is, then Stop it! Stop it! Stop it!..

Hello everyone, This blog is dedicated in favour of retro songs and also stand firm for there justice. We have to come together, we have to, otherwise these new released songs will just destroy everyone’s taste and make them move towards English songs. We can’t let them do that.okay!
See, I’m not against of english songs but I just don’t want anyone to go for it just because bollywood doesn’t have some.

Those famous lyricist like Javed Akhtar ji,  Sameer, Gulzaar sahab.. all have performed greatly in the industry and also given us many evergreen masterpiece. But, you know it was never only the lyrics that made the song popular but the singers too like, Kishore Kumar, Mohammad Rafi, Lata mangeshkar. They use to sing a particular song for 25 to 30 times, to present it in a fabulous way to you all. There was nothing like auto tuner in those days, just try to imagine how hard it was and so the hard works payed. They got fame for there work. And now a days, these so cold rappers using those cheap words and not only using it but repeating it many times in a single sentence, actually there whole sentence is repeated in a song which makes it awful are getting fame just like that. Who’s fault is this??

It’s not like they all are bad but those rappers are good only if they go for there separate albums. So, we can’t blame this whole on them,ok! Like they are bad but it’s us who are encouraging them to do this. And after that we just hit the dislike button but that particular songs legacy is already been destroyed. We can’t let them do that, we can’t. We need some good Songs. There are few non rappers who are literally good like Gajendra verma, Darshan Raval and Arjun Kanungo, Deno james etc.

Some of you must be fan of NEHA KAKKAR and his brother Tony Kakkar. So, let me just clear you that being in trend doesn’t make something look good. Ok! Otherwise, Go for Binod.

So, we have stand firm for our choice. If we hate listening those remix then don’t just dislike it but make them realize that we are not going to accept anything like this. And also because, Old is Gold.

Let’s make a pact among us and make them Learn ” Don’t destroy our beloved Songs”. There’s many things I want to say but I think I made my point clear till now.

So, drop down your views on this blog and also on this topic. And also tell us your way to Stop them in destroying our favourite Bollywood songs.

See yaa.
