THE MOST TERRIBLE VARIANT TILL TODAY- THE DELTA PLUS VARIANT OF COVID-19

With the decrease in the number of the corona cases in India, we the people of India started to experience that the devastation has finally came to an end. But sadly, the moment we started to go out again, the new variant of virus had emerged – the Delta Plus Variant, which gave another shock to the people of India.

The muted variety of Delta Variant- Delta Plus Variant has spread widely across the country, Indian.

THE SPREAD

49 cases of Delta+ variant had been recorded by 12 states of India till date. Maharashtra been one of the states again got hit badly with highest number of cases.

The Delta+ variant has already broadened in 85 countries around the world and South Africa is the reason behind the spread of this infection.

REASON TO BE CONCERN ABOUT DELTA+ VARIANT

Delta+ variant a.k.a AY.1, it is 60% more infectious when compared to previous version. Considerably it is more threatening for the lungs of patients who are already facing problems with their lungs.

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) declared that these mutations have raised the capacity of transmission and with this the spread from one person to other has become easy. This mutation made the virus job easy to get into the cells of the patients.

The reason to be concern about the variant is that the specialist of epidemiology and communicable diseases stated that Delta+ variant is dangerous variation of corona virus till date.

HOW TO TRACE

The Delta+ variant shows both the symptoms of delta variant as well as beta variant. And the symptoms are:

Headache, Chest pain, Fever, Cough, Skin rash, Shortness of breath and Diarrhoea.

PREVENTION

The World Health Organization (WHO) has already warned that the Delta variant of corona virus is one of the reasons to be extra caution about it. Maintain social distancing is one of the essential while going out.

And other measures to be taken are:

Going out when it is really an emergency, wearing of mask every time you out, maintain 6 feet distance in crowd, use of sanitizer is a must, wash hands every time you come back home and the last but most important get yourself vaccinate as soon as possible.

TREATMENT

Till now there is no such way to treat the Delta Plus variant infection. Antibodies are the only way till now to treat this as per doctors. Get vaccine to ensure the safety of your as well as your family. Till now there is no such treatment found by doctors or scientist to cure this variant as of now.

TAKEAWAY

With is spread of Delta+ variant across India, again have to face the uncomfortable situation where we again got to lock up ourselves in 2 walled room, facing lockdown for months again and the worst was the shortage of beds at hospitals, oxygen cylinder and lifesaving medication. If we do not want to get in this trouble again lets, follow the instructions and protocol established by the government. Let’s pledge will not show our careless behaviour and ensure the safety of ourselves and others.

LIFE LESSONS THAT CORONA VIRUS TAUGHT US

India has learned a number of hard lessons as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. The first is that we can no longer continue to exploit nature ruthlessly. Climate change, irregular weather patterns, and pollution of the air, land, and sea have driven the country, and the planet, to a precipice. Unless this is rapidly corrected, we will be in serious difficulty by the end of the century. It’s incredible that the lockdown has resulted in nature regenerating. After decades of pollution, we saw blue sky again, and various animal, bird, and insect species made a comeback. We must strive to keep these positive trends going so that we do not relapse to the old normal, but instead adopt a new normal.

“COVID-19 has taught us that health is extremely important in our lives, as healthy people are better able to combat the coronavirus. “The environment has a direct impact on our health”. The COVID-19 pandemic has taught us a lot of valuable lessons and shifted our life priorities. Most of us wouldn’t have comprehended terms like social distancing or flattening the curve a year ago, and the concept of wearing fabric masks in public or being unable to walk out in public would have looked ridiculous. When we fast forward to early 2020, everything has altered. While COVID-19 has brought with it new problems and uncertainty, it has also taught us some important lessons.

Covid-19 has taught us Lessons of Life:

1.Family and friends come first: Many of us may have taken human interaction for granted until the coronavirus took over our life. However, spending time with our close loved ones has now taken precedence. Despite the natural frustrations that everyday confinement might bring, it’s crucial to consider what our family and friends mean to us. But grab the day and remember that there are more good times with family and friends today, and we are receiving care and love that was long overdue and really needed somewhere. We appreciate it!

2. Hobbies are therapeutic: During the lockdown, most of us have either honed our culinary skills or started cooking from scratch. Except for those who have been away from home due to job or studies, those of us who have been dependent on our mothers/fathers or a chef for our favorite meals have recently experienced the effort and time it takes in the kitchen. Our renewed excitement for hobbies, such as cooking and knitting, as well as painting and learning a new language, has helped us recharge our health batteries while also strengthening our bonds with our families.

3. Less Pollution, Clear Blue Skies: Cities choking on toxic gases emitted during festivals, as well as from vehicular and factory operations, are nothing new to us. However, we haven’t seen clear blue skies in a long time since lockdown was implemented, roughly from mid-March onwards. Not only that, but the AQI improved dramatically for months, and for the first time in a long time, we breathed clean, pollution-free air! We had almost forgotten how blue skies looked and how fresh air felt until we experienced them during this period!

4. Life is valuable: Recognize and appreciate what we have. With over 225 thousand lives lost in the United States (and over 1.1 million worldwide) as a result of the epidemic, I’ve had to reconsider my priorities and recall how valuable life is. It’s served as a reminder to enjoy the little things in life, which I often overlook. With so many people dying every day, I am grateful for my family and friends, even if it means video chats and text messages when we can’t see each other face to face. Given how many others are sick, I am thankful for my good health. With so many people losing their jobs and becoming homeless, I am thankful for the food in my refrigerator and a safe place to call home. This pandemic has caused me to re-evaluate my life and prioritize my priorities, as well as act as a reminder of how valuable life is and how much I value the little things in life.

India Vs Sri Lanka

The squad for India tour of Sri Lanka is announced a month ago and players flew to Sri Lanka, were in quarantine and now they are practicing for the games. The schedule that was first released was changed due to Covid-19 spread for some Sri Lanka players who came from England. Previously Sri Lanka toured England for T20Is and ODIs and completed the tour without any pandemic spread for the team and crew members. But after the completion of the tour, some players and coaches were reported that they have Covid-19. Then they were quarantined and now the situation is fine. Due to this, now the schedule is changed. Previously the first ODI match was planned to happen on July 17 (Saturday) but now it is rescheduled to July 18 (Sunday).

Now they are playing practice matches and pumping themselves up for the game. They are also getting themselves adapted to the weather of Sri Lanka. It is too hot there. As the head coach Ravi Shastri and other coaches are busy with the test team that was sent to England, new coaches were appointed for the Sri Lanka tour. Rahul Dravid was appointed as the head coach. He worked as the Director of National Cricket Academy previously. He also has an immense experience with the youngsters who are in the new team as they all played under his coaching during their Under-19 World cup stages. He also has a good relationship with them and also the captain Shikhar Dhawan. They both assured that they would provide a few options for the selection committee to choose for the upcoming World T20 cup in November.

The selection of openers will definitely be a tough task for the coach and the captain. Four impressive batsmen are there to open the innings. Dhawan being the captain will definitely play every game. For the next one spot in opening, 3 youngsters are competing. Prithvi Shaw, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devdutt Padikal are those. Prithvi Shaw has a good experience in International cricket compared to other two. Padikkal and Gaikwad showed promise by their performance in last two IPL editions. Gaikwad also had played many India-A matches previously. Let’s wait and watch the series.

Soap vs. Hand Sanitizer

There are a plenty of hiding place for virus to stick. If you then touch your face, the virus can infect you. But there are two simple ways you can keep them away, soap and water, and hand sanitizer. It’s not best for any viral outbreak but best solution for covid. So which is better?

The corona virus that cause covid 19 is one of many viruses whose protective outer surface is made up of lipid bilayer. There lipids are pin shaped molecule whose heads are attracted to water means hydrophilic (water loving), and tails are repelled by it means hydrophobic (water hating). So in water rich environment, lipid naturally forms a shell, with heads outside and tails inside.

The actual process of destroying the virus happens in just one or two seconds. But doctors recommend at least 20 seconds of hand washing because of intricate structure of our hand. Soap and sanitizer need to get everywhere, including our palms, nails, fingertips and between our fingers to protect properly. And when it comes to corona virus outbreak, doctors recommend washing your hand with soap and water frequently. Both soap and sanitizer are similarly effective at killing the virus.

Soap and water has two benefits. It washes away any dirt which could otherwise hide virus particles. And it’s easier to fully cover your hand with soap and water for 20 seconds. On the other hand sanitizer is more convenient to use on the go. ( In the absence of sink and water). Hand sanitizer is just a emergency hands washing kit. When using sanitizer rub your hand together until they’re dry.

Unfortunately there are billions of people who don’t have access to clean drinking water which is a huge problem during this time.

Cleaning hand is very important because studies have found that we touch our face around 9 to 20 times per hour. Touching our face with uncleaned hand may be enough to infect ourselves.

MEANING OF FIRST AID

Safety First: Three Tips for Packing the Perfect First Aid Kit

Every individua ‘s life and work are closely related to his environment . Man has progressed in various fields of life such as industrialisation , mechanisation, transport and science, etc. Therefore, this age is called an electronic age or space age. But on the other hand, this development has created such conditions that a person may get injured anywhere and at anytime.

In spite of good measures aimed at industrial safety and the development of safety devices and techniques, the number of accidents is still high in industries and specially in day to day life. Indeed, there is no definite time of such injuries. These can happen to anyone, anywhere and at anytime. Injuries usually occur in industries and on the farm, during the repair, maintenance and operation of vehicles of various kinds, during games and sports and in various situations everyday. These often happen by accident, so it is impossible to anticipate the time and place of an accident. Someone may get fractured, another may be bitten by snake. So, it can be said that every individual is trapped in one way or the other by accidents. In fact, it is very difficult ton get medical aid to victims at the sport of the accident. At that moment, some immediate possible aid is required to the victim. So, first aid is the first help which is given to the wounded or accidental victims before the arrival of the doctor.

In other words, ” It is an immediate and temporary care given to a victim of an accident or sudden illness before the services of a physician is obtained.

In can also be said that first aid is that aid is that aid which is provided to the injured in case of an accident, injury or sudden illness. It enables the trained persons to render the help to preserve life, promote recovery of the injury until the arrival of the doctor.

In fact, the area of field of sports and games is such a field, where getting injured is very common. Any player can be injured at least once during his/her sports career. The facilities of a qualified doctor are available in national or international level competitions but usually such facilities or services of a doctor are not available during practice, training or competitions of normal levels. The teacher of health and physical education should also have enough knowledge of first aid so that he may provide first aid to the players at the time of training and competitions.

Rise of Women’s cricket

The Indian men’s cricket team is one of the best teams in all formats among the other world class teams. People following men’s cricket are many. People know the names of every player playing for the nation. Many fans go craze on their favourite stars. There is also women’s cricket in India which was played from many years back. But people following women’s cricket are very few. The count is incomparable with that of men’s cricket. In men’s cricket, there are many idols like Kapil Dev, Sunil Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli. But there is no big name in women’s cricket that everyone knows. The reason is apparent. There is no proper plan and infrastructure for women’s cricket across the country in domestic State level and District level. There was no inspiration for girls to take up cricket. They didn’t get to know the life of a woman cricketer. They didn’t have any idea of how would the life be after playing for the nation; what are the benefits they get; and how to get into a State level team. No growth of women’s cricket was seen till 2010s.

This situation prevailed for some years until 2011. After that a name had gone familiar with people. That name is Mithali Raj. She is also called as the lady Sachin Tendulkar of India. She has a pretty long and successful career. She made her debut in 1999 and is still playing for the country with career spanning over 2 decades. At 16, Raj scored an unbeaten 114 on ODI debut and soon established herself as the lynchpin of India’s batting. The roots of her copybook stroke play lay in her precocious talent that blossomed under the tutelage of her former coach, the late Sampath Kumar, and a regimented upbringing in an army family. With a passion for Bharatanatyam, her nifty footwork found expression on the field, becoming as much a hallmark of her batting as have been grace and an unrivalled precision at plundering runs in the cover region. She captained the Indian team for the first time at a young age of 22 years. She holds the record of having 3rd longest test careers, playing for 19 years. She is the 2nd highest run scorer in history of women’s cricket in all three formats added. She scored 10266 runs in her career totally. She has an amazing average of 44.6 in tests, 51.26 in ODI’s and 37 in T20s.

After her, many girls took up cricket as their career and started representing India. BCCI also looked up to the growth of women’s cricket. They developed the infrastructure and conducted many domestic games which boosted the talents to work hard. Also created a craze for young girls towards cricket. In the growth of Indian women’s cricket, there is a notable contribution done by Mithali Raj. She was also awarded with Padma Shri and Arjuna Award for cricket. She deserves every honour that she received. Thank you Mithali Raj.
