On animals: Animals are also impacted by fast fashion. In the wild, the toxic dyes and microfibres released in waterways are ingested by land and marine life alike through the food chain to devastating effect. And when animal products such as leather, fur, and even wool are used in fashion directly, animal welfare is put at risk. As an example, numerous scandals reveal that real fur, including cat and dog fur, is often being passed off as a faux fur to unknowing shoppers. The truth is that there is so much real fur being produced under terrible conditions in fur farms that it’s become cheaper to produce and buy than faux fur!

Well, let me talk about Mike Flanagan. Over the period of time, I have fallen in love with his unique set of horror films. He gives a new definition to the meaning of horror. I found both these series, especially The Haunting of Hill House, lethally amazing. The twists, jump scares (One of the best jump scare I have ever come across), character growth, expertly connected forth and back storylines, flashbacks, and again twists. I got hooked it to it the moment I started seeing it. Each one of the actors are amaze!
The Haunting of Hill House, is loosely based on the 1959 novel of the same name by Shirley Jackson. The future, present and past are all connected which led the family to the mansion, to stay in mansion, paranormal activities ….Everything is connected. There are less words to describe how much I loved this series.
The Haunting of Bly Manor, to be based on The Turn of the Screw by Henry James. There is no connection between the Hill House and this. The story tells of a young au pair hired by a man to look after his niece and nephew at the family country house after they fall into his care. Arriving at the Bly estate, she begins to see apparitions that proceed to haunt the premises. It is again an intellectual piece, there are flashbacks, twists, unexpected occurrences with a sad ending. Although it is a completely horror film, it has it’s own share of gothic vibes.
Ready or not
After the wedding ceremony of a young woman, her new in-laws force her to participate in a seemingly innocent game. Things soon turn bloody and sinister, revealing the sick rituals of the family. It is a mandatory Hide & Seek game whereby each new spouse must pass a kind of postnuptial initiation. People are literally equipped with crossbow, pocket pistol or battle ax. It is obvious that no one is going to think that a certain family is going to take “Till Death do us apart” so seriously. The family is held together by this silly and horrific ritual. The one who gets to hide and is to be sought, the family is obligated to kill them before. If not, deadly consequences wait for them. Yes, not killing them is going to get them killed, ridiculous right? But well, when you see this crazy family being scared out of their life for having missed to shoot her or something, sums up pretty well that you are are about to go on a ride of Dark Humor, crazy humans with their crazy weapons.
Amidst this craziness, the amazing actress Samara Weaving, portrayed her character through and through. This movie is has also highlighted crazy richness, statuses, etc. in a exaggerated way of course. The reason I put this this in this list is because of her acting and all the ways she defended herself, especially in a bridal attire. For me, the hunt, plot, acting were top-notch regardless of few clichés. But, it is a totally different, new, and unique horror movie out there.

Six friends accidentally invite the attention of a demonic presence during an online séance and begin noticing strange occurrences in their homes. Yes, I know séances over zoom and demonic activities sound impossible and a recipe for disaster. Personally, I am rarely spooked out, but this movie did give me few chills. In this world, where we do use zoom to attend colleges, meetings, seeing a movie made completely over Zoom gives you a totally different experience. Host, do not get confused with other Host movies, it is like a short film which was released by SHUDDER.
This movie was made on Zoom and the actors use their own lights as well. You will be hit with weird occurrences through the screens, filters on invisible ghosts, footprints on floor(Flour :p). If you want a short spooky movie, do see it in a dark from. Yes, I did it and it’s probably the reason for my chills. Nevertheless, it gives you the feeling of being in the same page with movie.

It is a American supernatural psychological horror film co-written, edited, and directed by Mike Flanagan.
It is not just your typical horror movie, it is an elegant piece of art; psychological thriller, and again a unique masterpiece by Mike Flanagan. As you go through the movie, you experience what they experience, you see what they see, and realize what’s happening alongside them. There are many baffling scenes, some will make your skin crawl (Not extremely in a bad way). In the end, you are just amazed and shocked by what you have seen. You also might want to punch the brother now and then.
Insidious
Insidious is a series of American horror films created by James Wan and Leigh Whannell. There are four films in the franchise—Insidious, Insidious: Chapter 2, Insidious: Chapter 3, and Insidious: The Last Key. The franchise is very well known. Each of it’s films have a plot, punches of adrenaline rush and some jumps scares.
The one that really really got my attention was “The last key” film. It is where Elise, the somewhat paranormal expert has to visit her childhood hellhouse. The demon has the power to posses one and make him act and do bad things. They have the power of completely muting someone. The connection between this and other movie in this franchise is astonishing. The jump scares are not that cliché. Overall, if u do want to watch something with quick pace, this film could be goof for you.

This movie connects psychological wellbeing and paranormal entity to a different level. Also, it took our childhood memories of balancing on and off button in a completely bizarre way. It is basically spooky of when you can see Diana, demon with lights off. It is actually an evil concept.
It does have some really spooky, emotional, and crazy scenes. If you want a light yet scary movie to watch (At night, yes). It is a spooky movie with a simple yet functional execution. But, I do not agree with psychological use in here. Other than that, why not see all the movies for yourself and have a fine collection of spooks.

Friends and friendship cannot be defined in words. It is the soulful attachment between individuals. Friends are persons who are very close to one’s heart. They are the only souls who expect nothing and don’t do something for a sake. There are no responsibilities, commitments, ego, and rules between friends. Endless gossips, sharing and caring, silly fights, memories, and trust, loyalty, love without expectation is what is present between true friends. There are no formalities and awkwardness in friendship. It is a pure bond that can never be forgotten but will be cherished forever. The relationship that brings joy and tears at the same time is friendship next to motherhood. In fact, it is as divine as motherhood. This special thing about this companionship is that there is no privacy or secrets between friends. One can never keep a secret between friends how hard they try as friends can always find that. It is such a transparent and lucid bond where the person can share every little thing without hesitation even if it is not worthy of sharing.
Friendship is being there for each other anytime. The understanding in this relationship cannot be compared with other relationships. We don’t need to explain something to make them understand. They can automatically understand it from our eyes and behaviour. Even if we are not close to each other, it is a soul-to-soul link that remains forever and keeps us connected. No distance could weaken the strength of friendship. There is no need for daily calls or meets to sustain a true friendship. It indeed doesn’t vanish at any cost. No matter how long we didn’t meet them or we meet them after so long, the bond doesn’t even change a bit. We will always feel the same warmth and comfort that we share with each other. We may be far apart in distance but never in heart.
Friends are God’s gift to us. They give the sweet memories that we rejoice throughout our lives. We must feel blessed and lucky to have a true friend. We always have their unconditional support in everything whether it is right or wrong. They guide us when we choose the wrong path but will never leave us alone. They are the only creatures who will be ready to listen to our 2 AM tantrums. Even if our family fails to support us, friends never leave us unattended. They are lifetime companions who are born to love as well as torture us. From showing unlimited love and care to making the worst mockery out of us, friends always have our back. They will be with us even if the universe is against us. God thought that he couldn’t be with everyone all the time. So, he sent our friends to be with us forever. Also, as we couldn’t choose our family, God gave all of us the opportunity to find and make our own close circle. We made use of the best opportunity in our lives to choose our friends and made them our family.

Although everyone has their own personal favourites, one thing is common among all of them; the passionate creators of those movies. Every director, producer puts in equal effort as the actors, and helps put their ideas on the screen.
Fatima Begum , is credited to be the first female director in India. She opened doors for other aspiring female directors who wished to also make their mark in the cinema.

Director, screen writer and an actress, what can this woman not do ?! Has films like Mr and Mrs. Iyer , Arshinagar and Ghawre Bairey Aaj. She has won 2 National Awards for her movies- 36 Chowringhee Lane( 1981 ) and for Mr. and Mrs. Iyer ( 2002).
She has critically targeted the complex issues of fundamentalism through her work and has redefined the Indian cinema with a fresh perspective.
2. Deepa Mehta-
This Indian director, is best known for her critically acclaimed Elements trilogy film – Fire, Earth and Water. Through these films , she challenged the daily societal norms and started discussions on topics which were considered taboo.
She is considered the pioneer of courageous and path breaking films.
3. Mira Nair –
She is definitely one of the best directors that we have. Harvard graduate , she has directed movies like Monsoon Wedding, Vanity Affair, The Namesake, Queen of Katwe, A Suitable Boy.
She had also gotten the offer for directing the one of the movies in the famous Harry Potter series- Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix. It was her commitment to tell stories of marginalized characters , the ones who needed someone to help them voice their opinions. She has also directed Salaam Bombay , which was nominated for the Best Foreign Film category in Oscars.
4 .Meghna Gulzar –
Daughter of the famous poet,Gulzar, she made her directorial debut in 2002 with her film , Filhaal. The film was based on surrogacy, and was way ahead of it’s time. A topic not many people were ready to be perceive on screens.
She later went on to direct projects like – Talvaar, Raazi and Chapaak. Her projects have always challenged the societal and the orthodox norms.
5. Zoya Akhtar –
Having films like – Luck by Chance, Zindagi na Milegi Dobara, Dil dhadakne do and Gully boy in her kitty, she has made her mark in the industry as a very powerful creator.
Although most of her films are commercially centered yet she never misses to send her proclaimed messages in her projects. Gully Boy was India’s official entry for Oscars, which further proves the caliber of the director.
Also having created projects like Made In Heaven, that questioned the patriarchal nature of the society,and the horrid reality behind the happy faces and the lavish wedding sets , she has proven her worth and contribution to cinema.
Yes, Online Classes is a mental exhaustion rather than knowledge. Online Classes is a modern way of teaching consisting virtual classrooms. With educational institutes closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the government has been encouraging online education to achieve academic continuity. Most high-end private and public institutions have made the switch smoothly using online platforms such as Zoom, Google Classroom, Microsoft Teams etc., while many still find it a herculean task. The challenges of online education is multifaceted.
Using internet for entertainment is common, but for online lessons is a big challenge. Teachers may not be well-versed with creating digital content, and conveying it efeectively online. A sudden expectation from them to upgrade, and from students to adapt, is unfair. Body language and eye-contact which are important cues for the teacher are difficult to perceive in an online class. “I do not receive continual feedback in the form of student’s reaction during online session” says a college teacher in sub-urban Mumbai. How many students have paid attention in a class? These questions arise even in traditional classrooms, but they are harder to address in online classes. A parent of an 8 year old attending a private school in Gurgaon says, “There shouldn’t be online classes for such younf kids. Their concentration span is small and they do not pay attention after a while.”
Even the college students seem to value the in-class physical learning experience much more than a virtual one. Theoretical knowledge always seems to be boring without practicals. Students have to sit at one place and just have to study the theory. Their minds gets exhausted due to which they pay less attention to what has been taught. many acknowledge that phones can be very distracting. In addition, science and technology programs often include hands-on laboratory sessions, dissertation projects and field trips to complement theoretical studies.This aspect of learning is severely limited in online education.
Finally, education is not just about subject knowledge but also about developing social skills and sportsmanship among the students, which is built over years. Relying solely on education maay hinder the holistic develoment of children and many may under-perform later in their professional and personal lives. Students are not able to understand lessons which result in oncreasing stress among the students.
“In a class of 40 students, after two months of online classes, around 20 students regularly attend class with whatever device and connection they have. Around 5-8 students are completely absent till date and rest are fluctuating” says a school teacher in Ratnagiri in Maharashtra. A teacher in a government-aided school from the small town of Chamba in Himachal Pradesh says, “It is frustrating experience to engage students of lower classes in online mode . There are network issues on both teacher’s and student’s ends.”
We all know that some areas are prone to poor internet connectivity due to which some students are not able to attend classes and some join just for the sake of attendance. We Indians give more preference to marks and frades rather than knowledge, which results in less productivity of knowledge in students and more focus is given by students to get good marks.
It was 7:30 in the morning, and I heard someone singing “Happy Birthday To You, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday Dear”. I opened my eyes and it was my dad who came to wish me as it was my 20th birthday and like every year he came to wake me up singing happy birthday songs for me. Like every year, this year too I went to the temple together with my mom and dad. That night my mom made my favourite dinner for me and all of a sudden, I realised I turned 20 this year. I am getting older and along with me my mom & dad too.
In the morning when we were going to the temple, we hadn’t completed the half steps but they were out of breath and worned out. Mom’s legs hurt while doing the chores or while making dinner for us. Dad can’t read newspaper without spects now. They get tired very soon and the only reason is because they’re growing old. There is one rule in our house: to at least have one meal a day together. Ever since I was a kid we had our dinner together but that day it was quite different, the vibes were different and the thought that my parents are getting older was scary as hell. I just wanted to live my whole life with my parents happily, I don’t want them to grow older. Besides,on the other hand I was happy that now I can take all their responsibilities and let them live the remaining years peacefully. As, this is what I wished for ever since I was a kid. But back then I never imagined that someday, someday they’ll leave too, just like the others. Now after realizing this I really don’t want them to grow up and neither do I want to grow up, I just want my childhood back and want to live a happy life with my parents forever and ever. There are times they act cold, yell at me for no reason and won’t allow me to do what I want to that time I really wants to live my life on my own ways and want to runaway far from home, far from them, where no one knows me, know one going to judge me, no one will yell at me, no one will have to right to take my life decisions but me, and no one will stop me, will nag me from doing what I want to do. But that is not life. We always need someone to scold us when we do something wrong, to nag us. Someone who will comfort us on our lowest and be our supporters at the highest points, someone who’ll love us more than they love themselves and trust me parents are the only ones who love their children more than they love themselves and no one can match their love. Sometimes they may be dominating but that’s because they love you and they are worried about you. Even if you are 50- 60 years old, for them you are still the same, the baby, who cries on small things. That day I really felt like yesterday it was my first day at school & I was crying cause I didn’t want to leave my mom. The feeling was something we never thought about. We are just getting older and busy with our studies, career and job that we never think about our parents. We have become so busy in our lives that we don’t have time for our parents. Now after realizing this I really don’t want to grow up, I just want to live my life with them. But I can’t. It is the rule of the world, that everyone grows and evolves and leaves this planet some or the other day. It’s like we are all here for each other to support, to talk, to love but then we’ll not be in each other’s lives forever anyway.
We are just here as supporting characters to each other’s main character lives and we’ll leave after seeing them grow/ evolve at our own specific times and we never notice that, like billions of times we eat with them, we watch them from beginning but never notice when they grow up. Time really flies and after this day every single second it will remind me that they are getting older and that one day they’ll leave us behind.
TRUST, LOVE, LOYALTY. Friendship is the only bond that suits these three words. In love, if there is love and faith, there is no loyalty at all. In family, if there is trust and love, there is no loyalty. But friendship has these three trust, love and faith. All people in this world will definitely have a true friend who care for you all the time. When I told you this, who is the one that strikes on your mind? The one that strike on your mind will be your soulmate forever. This is my trust. Just try this. Let me come to the point. Why we value friendship more than our family? Have you ever thought about it? Okay. Come on! Let me tell you about the non-sinking ship that is friendship.
When you first went to school, you would have cried when your mom/dad left you there. After getting some friends there, you would have definitely not cried. Yes, the bond that makes feel secure and happy beyond parents must be your friends. When you grow up with your friends, you will feel them as your own brother or sister. This gives you a feel to do anything for them. In your 12 years of school life, you might have faced many situations like punishments etc., right? School, where we learned all goo deeds with our friends. There must definitely be some naughtyness. Getting punishments together, picking on your friends as much as you can, irritating them etc. This childhood friendship has given us something, that is possessiveness, ego, love, care. These are the emergence of our own friendship. We always have a thought, my friend must talk to me and should not talk to others. Those possessive bonds are unbreakable.
In your college life, at first, you might have some hesitation to talk to your friends and it will start very formally and after the bond get stronger, these won’t be formal talks even if you imagine it. The life’s adventures can be known with your friends in your college life. These school and college friendship can never be forgotten. It doesn’t matter what the gender is but what matters is friendship!! Friendship has no language, gender, caste etc., It’s just the sink of two hearts. There have always been the cute and lovely friendship between a boy and a girl. Some thought its wrong; what’s wrong with that? They are friends; they know their limits right? So, let’s stop being opposive on friendship between a boy and girl.

A short story may be defined as a story that can be read in a single sitting. Edgar Allan Poe considered the short story as a prose narrative ‘requiring from half an hour to one or two horse in its perusal. Thus brevity is one of the essential characteristics of a short story. However, a short story is not Merely a novel on a reduced scale. the short story has a distinct, well-marked organizational structure different from that of a novel.
Theme of a short story:
Firstly, the theme of a short story must be one that can efficiently be developed within the prescribed limits. The story should impress the reader as clear in outline and well proportioned. It should not give the impression of crowding. This does not mean that the story must necessarily be confined to a single incident. It only means that even when the story covers a wide field of time and a large sequence of events, it should give a concentration of interest. Most of the stories of Maupassant and Washington Irving’s famous story “Rip Van Winkle” illustrate this point.
Unities of short stories:
Secondly, a short story should have unity which means unity of purpose, motive, action, and impression. a short story should contain only one informing idea and it should be worked out with singleness of purpose. No scattering of attention is allowed in a short story as it may be allowed in a novel.
Opinions of various authors:
Writers and critics hold different opinions on the art of the short story. Edgar Allan Poe thought that the short story should present only a ‘slice of life’ suggestively. it should have neither a beginning nor an end. However, the modern story writer and novelist Somerset Maugham thinks that ‘a short story should be a finished product of art with the beginning, middle, and end. another critic compares the short story with the horse race in which the start and the finish count most. Such contradictory definitions are more or less reconciled in what Hugh Walpole says “a short story should be a story, a record of things happening, full of instance an accident, Swift movement, unexpected development reacting through a suspense to a climax and satisfying denouement.”
Famous works:
A short story may deal with any motive and material. Poe’s story “Gold bug” turns on a puzzle whereas Stockton’s ‘The lady and the Tiger” is contrived to give a dramatic surprise at the end. Most stories of O’ Henry are interesting because of their unexpected surprise endings. Short stories of Chekhov, Maupassant, Tolstoy, and Hemingway illustrate the wide variety of themes and motives that can be successfully employed by a short story writer. WH Hudson says “a dramatic incident or situation; a telling scene; a closely coordinated series of events; a phase of character; a bit of experience; an aspect of life; a moral problem any of these, and innumerable other motives which might be added to the list, maybe made the nucleus of a thoroughly satisfactory story.
Conclusion:
R.L Stephenson speaks of three kinds of short stories – the story of the plot, the story of character, and the story of impression. however, to most story writers, the idea of a story comes as something like an abstract thought or impression and later they work it up into the shape of a story inventing the required plot, character, and incidents.

In the 1960s, manga artist and animator Osamu Tezuka adapted and simplified Disney animation techniques to reduce costs and limit frame counts in his productions. Three Tales (1960) was the first anime film broadcast on television; the first anime television series was Instant History (1961–64).An early and influential success was Astro Boy (1963–66), a television series directed by Tezuka based on his manga of the same name. Many animators at Tezuka’s Mushi Production later established major anime studios (including Madhouse, Sunrise, and Pierrot).
