POVERTY

“Overcoming poverty is not a gesture of charity. It is an act of justice”

-Nelson Mandela

Poverty is articulated hardship in prosperity, and contains many aspects. It incorporates low salaries and the failure to acquire basic goods and products fundamental for living with nobility. Poverty likewise incorporates low degrees of wellbeing and training, helpless access to clean water and disinfection, deficient actual security, absence of voice, and inadequate limit and chance to better one’s life.

Issues like hunger, disease, and helpless sterilization are major causes and end results of poverty. In other words, that not having food implies being poor, yet being poor additionally implies being not able to manage the cost of food or clean water. The impacts of poverty are frequently interrelated with the goal that one issue rarely happens alone. Terrible sanitation makes one helpless to illnesses, and yearning and absence of clean water makes one considerably more defenseless against sicknesses. Impoverished nations and networks frequently experience the ill effects of separation and end up trapped in a pattern of poverty.

POVERTY AND SOCIAL LIFE

The endless loop of poverty implies that deep rooted obstructions and inconveniences are passed from one age onto the next. Joblessness and low wages establish a climate where youngsters can’t attend the class. Youngsters should regularly work to provide a revenue for their family. With respect to youngsters who can go to school, many neglect to perceive how difficult work can further develop their lives as they see their parents battle at each day undertakings. Other plagues accompanying poverty include:

  • Devastating mishaps because of risky workplaces consider the new structure breakdown in Bangladesh.
  • Poor housing- an enduring reason for illnesses.
  • Water and food related sicknesses that happen just on the grounds because poor can’t bear “safe” food sources.

At last, poverty is a significant reason for social pressures and takes steps to separate a country due to income disparity. This happens when the wealth of a nation is ineffectively circulated among its residents and when a little minority has a greater part of the cash. Wealthy or developed countries maintain stability because of the presence of a middle class. Be that as it may, even Western nations are continuously losing their working class. Therefore, there has been an expanded number of riots and conflicts. For society, poverty is an exceptionally dangerous variable that can undermine a whole country. The Arab Spring is an extraordinary illustration of how revolts can begin due to not many open positions and high poverty levels.

POVERTY AFFECTING CHIDREN

  • Children from helpless background fall behind at all phases of training.
  • By the age of three, more unfortunate kids are assessed to be nine months behind kids from more affluent foundations.
  • Before the finish of elementary school, students getting free school dinners are assessed to be around three terms behind their companions.
  • By 14, this hole surges to above five terms.
  • By 16, kids getting free school dinners are around 1.7 grade points underneath their more prosperous companions’ normal GPA.

SELF CARE

“It could be anything that floats your boat — anything that puts a smile on your face,” Dr. Gill Lopez says. “Anything that makes you feel cared for, even if it’s you caring for yourself.”

The World Health Organization defines self-care as: “the ability of individuals, families, and communities to promote health, prevent disease, maintain health, and to cope with illness and disability with or without the support of a healthcare provider. “As per this definition, taking care of oneself incorporates everything connected with remaining physically healthy – including cleanliness, nourishment, and looking for clinical consideration when required. It’s all the methods an individual can require to oversee stressors in their day-to-day existence and deal with their own wellbeing and prosperity.

Taking care of oneself requires checking in with yourself and asking yourself how you’re doing and what your body’s requesting. Certain individuals use it to manage troublesome reports, others just to keep up with their satisfaction every day. Taking care of oneself doesn’t mean exactly the same thing for everybody. Various individuals will embrace distinctive taking care of oneself practices, and even your own definition may change over the long run. “What is self-care for one person will likely differ from someone else, and what’s self-care for you one day might not feel like self-care another day,” Dr. Amsellem says.

Taking part in taking care of oneself routinely could assist you with doing your absolute best. “At the point when we are consistently dealing with ourselves, we are better ready to respond to the things that continue in our lives,” It’s something we do to keep up with positive well-being.

At a point when taking care of oneself is routinely rehearsed, the advantages are expansive and have even been connected to positive wellbeing results like decreased pressure, improved immune system, expanded productivity, and higher confidence.

TYPES OF SELF-CARE

Emotional self-care, for example, self-talk, week by week bubble showers, saying “no” to things that cause pointless pressure, allowing yourself to take a respite, or setting up a week after week espresso date with a companion

Physical self-care, for example, focusing on rest, taking on an activity routine you can stay with, picking sound and sustaining food sources over profoundly handled ones.

Spiritual self-care, like going to a religious service, investing energy in nature, reflecting, consolidating normal thoughtful gestures into your day, or keeping an appreciation diary.

SELF-CARE PRACTICES

Finding Purpose: As indicated by the researchers having a strong life purpose   was related with diminished death rates.

Diet: Eating a diet loaded up with five servings of leafy foods each day is related with a lower hazard of mortality, particularly from heart-related issues.

Sleep: Too-little rest (under seven hours out of each night) is connected with higher death rates, however a lot of rest wasn’t sound all things considered.

Getting Outside: According to a recent report distributed in Lancet Planet Health, investing energy in green space is related with a lower death rate.

An Analysis of Philip Larkin’s poem “Church Going”

Philip Larkin is a British poet of twentieth century. His poem “Church Going” deals with the issues regarding the declining religious beliefs and spirituality of the twentieth century. The title of the poem carries multiple connotations. In a primary analysis the title may refer to going to the church for participating in the sermons or for praying. Another meaning is just visiting the church for the sake of visiting. And in a deeper analysis it can be said that the title may refer to going away from the church which means an escape from religion and spirituality.

The poem is filled with various rhetorical questions through which poet brings a sense of sarcasm. Poet is at the church in the beginning. As he enters he thuds close the door. But he refuses to enter first, because he doesn’t want to disturb the practices. Then there are several instances in the poem which reflects the lack of faith in the poetic persona’s mind.

He has seen many pillars, bible, altar and he doesn’t feel any respect towards them. He reads from the Bible in a sarcastic way and exits. He feels a kind of uncle or irreverence towards the church and religion. The poetic persona wonders that what will happen to the church if the people completely stop the visit. He says that some will be tourist attractions with their documents and ceremonial plate wares. Others will decay and take over by sheeps and cows. Or some women with superstitious beliefs would visit.

The narrator also wonders who will be the last person to visit the church as a church. One may be a history buff, or an antique lover. Someone who loves the Christmas will also be a visiter. But the last person may be a poet like the narrator, bored and ignorant about religion. Even though the poetic persona is ignorant and having irreverence, says that the church held everything together from the shattered form. It is the place of marriage, birth and death and gives meaning to all human action. The church, which is a serious and meaningful place in a meaningful ground combine all human instinct and humans seek wisdom from here. Through the poem Philip Larkin presents a contrast between shattering beliefs and the spirituality of the twentieth century and the role of church and religion in giving meanings to human life.

Aadhar and Privacy

In the Indian Constitution, Article 21 preserves an individual’s right to privacy along with the human life’s dignity. The right to dignity is considered as a significant part of an individual’s right to life.

” In my considered opinion, right to privacy of any individual is essentially a natural right, which inheres in every human being by birth. Such right remains with the human beings till he/she breathes last. It is indeed inseparable and inalienable from human being. In other words, it is born with the human being and extinguish with the human being.”

– Justice Abhay Manohar Sapre

The most common question that we hear in every day is ‘May I see your ID?’, many of our regular activities depend upon the IDs like while cash withdrawal from an ATM, joining the line of fast track at the airport, at the entry of workplace etc. If the wrong ID is shown then in many places one is denied secure access to website, attention of emergency medication and many more facilities. In Hindi, the word ‘Aadhar’ refers to ‘the foundation base’. An Aadhar is basically a random number of unique identification containing 12 digits issued in India to all its citizens irrespective of the gender and age. The agency that issues and manages the Aadhar Card is Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). In order to obtain Aadhar number, an individual who is an Indian resident requires enrollment. Primarily, Aadhar was initiated for the direct subsidies transfer into the bank account of citizens. However, the scope of Aadhar has been widened today. A case of privacy infringement was filed, the reason being that in order to acquire the Aadhar cards, the citizens were asked for their Biometrics by the Indian government. It was made compulsory for all the Indian citizens to have Aadhar card under the Aadhar scheme for the smooth functioning of the operations such as tax payment, bank accounts opening etc. A number of security benefits are provided to the weaker sections by the government, thus to avail such benefits it is necessary for all the citizens to be Aadhar card holders. However, the enrollment is not mandatory and hence it does not violate the any privacy rights as the biometrics are also provided voluntarily by the citizens. Certain sections of the society are unduly influenced secretly or directly by the government, thus the Act of Aadhar is a form of Doctrine of Colourable Legislation. In the case of Justice K.S.Puttaswamy vs. Union of India and ors 26, a petition was filed by the retired justice in which he challenged the Aadhar Scheme’s constitutional validity asserting that as the Aadhar is made compulsory, there is instance of violation of right to privacy of citizen. As an outcome, the individuals who are unwilling to register are not left with any option. Besides, in India there is lack of laws related to data protection which further increases the chances of leak of personal information of data if not handled with care. It was held that Privacy is a constitutionally protected right which not only emerges from the guarantee of life and personal liberty in Art. 21 of the Constitution, but also arises in varying contexts from the other facets of freedom and dignity recognized and guaranteed by the Fundamental Rights contained in Part III of the Indian Constitution.

Right to Privacy is a Fundamental Right. The right protects an individual’s internal sphere by the State as well as the Non- State’s interference and autonomous choices in life are allowed by the individual. The Right to Life and Personal Liberty derives the Right to Privacy. An individual can enter a citizen’s house without knocking at its door, this is easily made possible by technology. The same may be possible in case of state or non states. The privacy of the home must preserve all the essential aspects of dignity such as marriage, family, sexual orientation. The Article 21 of the Indian Constitution extends to the right to privacy and the Right to live with dignity.

“DOING YOUR BEST” IS BETTER THAN “BEING THE BEST “

You may already have embraced your own ambitious streak. No matter what you’re trying to accomplish, with thousands of other people trying to do the same thing, it surely helps to be driven.  After all, most of the greatest entrepreneurs, politicians, scientists, and artists were perpetually striving to beat their personal best or challenge the status quo.  Yet being driven to succeed should not be confused with the kind of competitive ambition that can consume you.  So, do you need to be competitive with others, and what is the essential difference between “being the best” and “doing your best”?

When I’m simply doing my best, I feel excited rather than anxious.   There is no tension in my body and I feel present and at ease. My heartbeat and breathing are normal, because I’m not in a race

If you try to be the best you, the self-improvement and confidence departments are going to get a serious boost. After all, if you are trying to be the best you, you are improving in some fashion, and this can really build one’s confidence. You improve because you are learning new things, such as traits or knowledge in general. Along the way, your abilities get better and more diverse, and this is a real confidence booster.

You Will Never Think “What If”

When you are trying to be the best you, you are typically chasing your goals and dreams in the process. As a result, you are doing what you want to do. Therefore, you will never think “what if” because you are actually in the process of being a doer.

One of the most important things in life is that you simply show up — that is half the battle. If you want to take things to the next level, then you have to try your best and learn from your experiences, whether if they lead to failure or glory.

Trying to be the best you is going to take time, hard work and commitment, but it is so worth it once you reach the end of your journey.

🔘Sports Can Boost Learning Effectiveness 🔘

Playing sports is not only a fun way for students to stay active, but can also be helpful for academic growth! The benefits of sports for students include improving their self-esteem, building interpersonal social skills and more. What are the benefits of sports for students?

1. Health benefits

This is probably the most obvious one, but for a good reason! Any physical activity that encourages exercise is worth participating in. As the old saying goes, “body and mind” are connected! Students that get proper exercise through sports are more likely to feel energized throughout the day, hold a positive attitude, and maintain a proper sleeping schedule – which in turn helps with staying focused during the school day.

2. Social skills

Sports require communication between players. Even one-on-one sports (like tennis, for instance) still require communication between two opponents during a match while encouraging a healthy sense of competition. The social benefits of sports for students help them to improve their social skills while also meeting other individuals that share the same interests. These social skills will translate to the classroom, encouraging your child to be more engaging and confident at school.

. 3 Teamwork

Team sports require players to plan and coordinate together while they work towards a shared task (like scoring a goal). These same skills – assigning duties, strategizing approaches – are extremely helpful in managing group projects at school. Group projects and presentations are a part of the academic sphere even through the college level, so learning how to work well with others is hugely beneficial for a student’s academic experience (and beyond).

4. Self-esteem

Playing sports is fun. And it’s not just about winning or losing – simply participating in sports encourages a mindset towards practice, growth, and improvement. These are the same principles we encourage students to hold academically. Getting better at something feels good, and sports are an excellent way to experience tangible improvement. Whether it’s shooting hoops just for fun or joining a team league, sports can be an extremely positive influence on a student’s self esteem. This same confidence boost will translate into all areas of their lives, including academic performance

ResilienceRemember the old saying, “Learn to be a good sport?” Quite literally, in fact, sports teaches us that we don’t always get the outcome we want. Olympic athletes train for years only to fall short of the gold medal – but rather than discourage their efforts, it motivates them to pick themselves up again and train harder. Team sports are the same – emotions can run high, and losing a big game can be disappointing. However, these experiences teach students to have good sportsmanship. Resilience is just as important in academics – when students are disappointed with a score or exam result, having good resilience helps them to “bounce back” and try again with a new approach. Sports are a great way of instilling these values at a young age.

The benefits of sports for students reach far beyond the physical. From improving social skills to teaching self-esteem and personal resilience, playing sports can instill lifelong values to students that reach far past the classroom.
