CAT is a national level examination conducted every year for admission in IIM’s and prominent B-schools. Apart from cat there are serval other mba exams like xat, mat, nmat etc.
There are some basic details you need to know in order to target CAT 2021. The application process will starts from tentatively 5 August. The last date to fill form can be 23 September ( tentatively).
Cat syllabus : This is basically divided into three sections quantitative aptitude, logical reasoning and data interpretation , verbal ability and reading comprehension. There would be 100 questions in 2 hours and marking scheme is +3,-1. If the covid 19 scenario continue, the pattern can be as last year 76 questions in 2 hours.
Preparation strategy : Approximately 4 months are left for examination. So you need to manage your time efficiently. First of all make a time table. Give each part equal time. Focus on every portion equally. Give ample number of mocks to see your position. You can refer material of coaching institues as well as books.
Books like from author Arun Sharma , Nishant k. Sinha , Meenakshi Upadhaya are good for all sections. It is also important to solve previous year papers. You can refer any solved paper book.
Complete the portion which has higher weightage firstly as only four months are left. Do not take stress. Take proper sleep and diet.
Can Dogs Eat Plums? Do Plums Harm Dogs? All answers you will get in this article.
Plums grow on large bushes or small trees and have beautiful white apple-shaped flowers. The fruit can be up to 15 cm round, and the colour varies from yellow to black. Each fruit seed contains toxins i.e. cyanogen, hydrogen cyanide, prunasin and amygdalin.
When the semen (bone or bone) is consumed whole, the acids from the intestinal tract break down the upper layers and release the toxins into the bloodstream and distribute them throughout your dog’s body. If your dog suffers from plum poisoning, it will likely experience vomiting, tremors, and shortness of breath and can be fatal within an hour if not treated immediately.
WHY DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO EAT PLUMS?
The major problem is with the bone. It stays in the middle of the plum. That is a very choking hazard but also it is pointy on both ends which means that if swallowed it can sometimes cause oesophagus, stomach or intestinal damage. If your dog takes a little bit of ripe plum, it will likely be fine. The pulp of a properly ripe plum is not poisonous to dogs of toxins, including cyanide. In addition to this, parts of the plum plant can also contain amygdalin, cyanogen and prunasin.
WHAT TO DO IF PLUM CONSUMED BY YOUR DOGS?
If you notice that your dog has eaten plums, try to find out how much it has eaten and what parts of the fruit, whether your dog has managed to eat a plum whole and only took a bit without it ingesting the plum kernel they are most likely to be fine. But if they had eaten some other parts of a plum plant and have eaten it in a bulk then most probably you will watch the symptoms listed below
If your dog is showing symptoms of plum poisoning, or if you suspect they have eaten a significant amount of plums, you need to call your veterinarian, who will likely want to check your dog for more signs of plum poisoning, and nitrite given via an IV drip may help that To remove the presence of cyanide from your dog’s. First to be sure to always remove the plum’s pit. Doing so is essential as the pit contains cyanogenic glycosides (cyanide) which is toxic. Also, it presents a choking hazard.
CONCLUSION So now we can conclude that dogs may eat a Lil bit of plum but not in bulk. They can also not eat any part of the plum plant like leaves, stem , roots and even bark. However it may not seriously harm dogs if taken in a small amount but suggest you to keep your dogs away from the plums. Hope you all like this article. If your dog has ever eaten up plum then how could you manage that, tell me in the comments. Also, do share this article if you found it helpful. Thank You

Throughout our lives, we have different experiences. Some good, others not so good. It is certain to go through a period of personal crisis or to face acute pressure at some point of time. Many people sail through tough times easily while many others have a hard time doing so. It has been observed that the people who are good at overcoming life challenges have certain set of characteristics. These are called ‘life skills’. Life skills are basically the abilities that an individual possess which helps him/her to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of everyday life.
These abilities often depend on how well we are prepared to deal with everyday demands. There are various practices on the part of a person which can enhance his/her life skills and lead toward a better life. The first and foremost is to get rid of unhelpful practices. Procrastination, for instance, is a habit of putting off what we can do today. In this process we actually create a ton of work for ourselves which acts as a stressor later on. Another unhelpful habit is Perfectionism. Here the person tries to be perfect and therefore cannot relax like others. These habits are a reason of daily hassles. Time management is also very important. Learning to mange your time helps to reduce the pressure on us. The way people spend their time determines the quality of their lives.
Another life skill is self care. When we are healthy and relaxed, we are both physically and mentally prepared to face challenges and succeed in doing so. A healthy and balanced diet gives more energy, improves immunity and circulation and can lift one’s mood. When we are stressed we tend to eat comfort foods which are high in fats and sugar. The key to healthy living is to eat three meals a day with well balanced diet. Exercising is also beneficial when it comes to health. Stretching exercises have a calming effect. Regular exercising not only helps in physical fitness but also have a positive effect on reducing stress, tension etc.
An important life skill is rational thinking. There is a saying that “our thoughts determine our reality”. It is very true indeed. Many stress related problems arise due to our distorted thinking. What we think is connected to what we feel, therefore it is very important to have a positive attitude and positive thinking. Optimism plays a key role in this. Optimists tend to believe that problems can be overcome successfully and perceive problem as challenge instead of a threat. This sort of thinking helps in driving away negative thoughts. Other positive habits are sense of responsibility, acceptance, tolerance, humour etc. Lastly, having sound relationships is also a life skill. Having people you can turn to during your low time helps to bounce back faster. Emotional support given by friends or family members can help an individual during tough times. The key to sound relationships is communication. Conveying what you feel and accepting what others feel is the basis of sound relationships.
One of the biggest problems that the whole world is facing right now is Climate Change. It has affected everything and everyone from Nature to Plants Animals, Natural, and Man-Made Things, and Living things most importantly. Although this Climate Change is created by us, i.e., Human Beings, due to the activities to do and we take climate change for granted, we take it so lightly and do not know its consequences. Climate Change includes both Global Warming driven by human emissions of greenhouse gases and resulting in large-scale shifts in weather patterns. In simple words, it means a change in temperature and rainfall. A report by NASA stated that Earth’s surface is warming and many of the warmest years on record have happened in the past 20 years. Human Activity is the main cause of climate change. The way we do the activities, we never look at the factors that can affect other things by what we do. Increasing pollution and global warming are the major cause of climatic change which human beings have evolved. It has eventually increased so much that we cannot stop it easily. To stop this, we need to take many brave steps and be aware of everything around us. Other factors that cause climatic change and increase in the Earth’s temperature are listed below:- ~ Burning of fossil fuels ~ Cutting down rainforests ~ Release of greenhouse gases produced through human activity ~ Depletion of quality of air ~ Ozone layer depletion and so on. Global Warming is the major cause of climate change. Now, what global warming is? Global warming is the long-term heating of Earth’s climate system observed since the pre-industrial period (between 1850 and 1900) due to human activities, primarily fossil fuel burning, which increases heat-trapping greenhouse gas levels in Earth’s atmosphere. The term is frequently used interchangeably with the term climate change, though the latter refers to both human- and naturally produced warming and its effects on our planet. It is most commonly measured as the average increase in Earth’s global surface temperature. Climatic conditions like changes in temperature and rainfall also may influence the transmission pattern of many diseases, such as water-related or water-borne diseases such as diarrhea, and vector-borne infections such as malaria. Also, climate change may affect the patterns of food production, which in turn can have health impacts. Climatic changes also affect living organisms’ daily lives, whether human beings, animals, flora, and fauna. It affects the farmer when there is heavy rain or no rain, animals have to migrate if it is raining, and many die due to the temperature rise and so on. Everything has its causes, effects, and solutions. So here are some solutions to reverse climate change- Refrigerant Management: which means refrigerators, air conditioners contain chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) which were the key culprits in depleting the Ozone layer; Wind Turbines: Fossil fuels sidelined zero-emission wind energy during the mid-twentieth century.
The global pandemic Covid-19 has affected every aspect of human lives whether it be mental health or physical environment. The government took several measures to halt the spread of this lethal virus. The slowdown of economic activities had a significant impact on the environment. The outbreak of the disease first emerged in December 2019 after which WHO declared it as an International Public Health Emergency and declared covid -19 as a global pandemic. The virus is spread from person to person through direct contact like as sneezing, talking, and coughing. This virus resulted in the death of millions and many more were infected. For breaking the chain and controlling the death rate, the movement of people was restricted and many countries saw nationwide lockdowns. Overall, The pandemic wreaked havoc on the global economy, affecting the environment directly or indirectly.
ADVANTAGES-As factories, transportation, and businesses have closed, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions dropped dramatically. Many countries recorded a nearly 50% drop in nitrogen dioxide and carbon dioxide. Nitrogen oxide is released from burning of the fossil fuels and around 80% comes from motor vehicle exhaustion. According to reports the nitrogen oxide level and PM2.5 level dropped by 70% in Delhi, the capital of India. People were able to breathe more clean and fresh air during the Covid-19 lockdown. Before lockdown, the industrial waste was directly dumped into the rivers without proper treatment resulting in water pollution. But during the lockdown, the industries causing major pollution were closed, which resulted in the reduction of pollution loads. Rivers were cleaner and there was a huge drop in sewage and industrial effluents. The reduced industrial activities, vehicle movement, and construction work resulted in the reduction of noise pollution. In Delhi, the noise level was reduced by around 40-50%. During this time people witnessed the chirping of birds which is not usual in the capital. The lockdown also reduced soil and marine pollution.
DUMPING OF FACE MASK DIRECTLY IN OCEANS
DISADVANTAGES-But, since the outbreak of Covid-19, there has been an increase in the global medical waste generation which poses threat to health and the environment. For prevention, people use a face mask, hand gloves, and other safety equipment which results in an increase in healthcare waste. These equipment are the sources of increase in microplastic level in the environment. Some equipments are directly dumped into oceans posing a threat to marine life. However, with proper management of waste, environmental pollution can be reduced.
CONCLUSION-The epidemic is harming human lives and the global economy, which in turn is affecting the environment and climate. It reminds us of how we have ignored environmental components while enforcing human-caused climate change. Furthermore, COVID-19’s global response encourages us to act together to resist the threat to humanity. Though the environmental benefits of COVID-19 are short-term, a concerted and time-bound effort can increase environmental sustainability and preserve the planet from the ravages of global climate change.
Some experts are also with the opinion that it could become the dominant strain in most of the parts of the world.
Okay, let’s keep this aside but do you think that this unlock would give us the better results, I’m neutral here as, the economy of the India is important I know it’s important but the lives of our Indians is the most important thing. Giving it a basic trail if you’ve have heard about those individuals and who were so happily living their lives who used to sing, dance, cook and etc etc. But after a few days they were no more you might heard it from your parents from your relatives from your friends that, that particular guy isn’t here with us he/she died due to covid and even when they were treated with the best medicines, from our best doctors but we all know from where does it started so let me tell you being careless about this pandemic would make you sit on the bed, so let me tell you my experience around 5-6 days ago me and my friend we were going for a morning walk and he removed his mask saying that he’s strong he won’t be having covid. I mean guys we have to be honest with ourselves that are we giving our best ladies and gentlemen please take care of yourselves:
Make sure you are wearing a proper mask.
Make sure you are washing your hands.
Make sure you are done with your doses (vaccination)
Make sure you are not going outside without any need.
Make sure you and your family are safe. And our nation is your family too.

INTRODUCTION:- There are many materials that are used to support life on earth and meet our needs called Natural resources. E.g.Oil, coal, natural gas, metals, stone sand, air, sunlight, soil and water. Animals, birds, fish and plants are also natural resources Types of natural resources:- There are many ways to classify natural resources. On the basis of the resource availability and and its uses natural resources are classified into two types. They are as follows: Renewable Natural Resources: The resources that are present in unlimited quantities and can be replenished naturally or can be sustained over a short period of time are called renewable natural resources. E.g., air, water, sunlight, soil, biomass, geothermal. Non-renewable Natural Resources: The natural substances that are present in limited supplies and these are not replenished with the speed at which it is consumed. It is a finite resource. E.gFossil fuels such as coal, petroleum, and natural gas. NATURAL RESOURCES DEPLETION: We are using natural resources endlessly everyday. Explosion of population is causing overexploitation of natural resources and with little or no care is being taken to conserve them. Therefore natural resources are depleting to meet the needs of a huge population. However, we need to understand that natural resources are finite. Even to meet the population’s needs , renewable resources are not getting enough time to replenish . Thus, we can even wonder what the condition of non-renewable resources might be. So we can say that this depletion of natural resources is quite harmful to the earth and its inhabitants. Impact of depletion of natural resources: Minerals are being used rapidly as we need it for almost everything from housing to business. Thus, a major decline in these minerals like coal, copper etc are being noticed. If we do not conserve them completely, one day we will run out of all of them.
Similarly, the oil reserves are also running out. We won’t be able to produce more oil and thus we won’t get any petroleum. The prices will increase and many economies will crumble due to this lack of resources.
Similarly, the rate of cutting of forests is increasing day by day. Cutting down the Aarey forest in Mumbai is a major example. The damage caused as a result of this deforestation is quite dangerous. This will increase the carbon dioxide levels and alter the water cycle on earth. The day is very near when we will face frequent floods and soil erosion which will decrease our biodiversity.
Most importantly, the way of wasting water needs to be checked right away. Many countries are facing a water crisis and we know that life is impossible without water. The farmers won’t get enough water for irrigation. This results in famine and many more deadly consequences. We must not waste these resources. We should always find ways to prevent the depletion of natural resources.
WAYS TO PREVENT DEPLETION OF NATURAL RESOURCES:- There are many ways by which we can prevent the depletion of natural resources. The ways are as follows:- We should reduce our dependence on fossil fuels. This can be done by stopping wastage of electricity. We should try to use carpool with your neighbors or relative and travel public transport instead. We should stop polluting water. The freshwater bodies are running out of clean water. We must organize cleanliness drives to clean the water of these bodies. We must not let the tap run for a long time. The industries must be banned from dumping their toxic waste into the water. Furthermore, we must stop taking long showers and bath using a bucket The most important thing is we should plant more trees and preserve our existing forests. We must not let anyone to cut down. They are a very important natural resource needed for human survival. We must use less paper to avoid cutting down of trees. We can all come together and prevent this depletion of natural resources because this depletion of natural resources is very harmful for our future. Thus depletion of natural resources can have a very harmful consequences in future so from now onwards we must start to preserve all of them.
Human is a social animal. He cannot survive without a society. Society gives birth to culture. The ideas, customs, practices, beliefs of a society forms it’s culture. This culture incorporates with the lives of the people belonging to a society. Cultural transmission starts from right when we are born and continues till we live. Our culture is given to us as our legacy which must be practiced and preserved. Therefore it is a given that different societies have different culture and cultural practices, some more different than others.
Generally, it has been seen that there is this notion among people that our culture is superior or that a particular culture is inferior to our culture. An “Us vs them” mentality is created which leads to perception bias in our favour. This leads to cultural misinterpretations and generalisations about other cultures. Sometimes these beliefs are so strong that they take forms of prejudices, disparity, bullying, intolerance, wars, genocide etc. A well-known instance of this is the Nazi Germany and the holocaust of Jews.
It’s not our differences that divide us, but our own inability to accept those differences.
This is where ‘Cultural Relativism’ comes into light. Cultural relativism refers to the ability of a person to understand a culture on it’s own terms and not being judgemental towards it. It simply means that we should try to understand cultural practices of other groups in their own cultural context. This term was first used philosopher Alain Locke. It lays emphasis on the fact that people from different cultures can have relationships with respect and acknowledgement of each other’s diverse lives.
The basic goal of cultural relativism is to promote a sense of unity and to demolish the views pertaining to superiority of a particular culture over others. It also argues that there is no particular standard of judging what is good or evil and every decision is individually decided in each society. The bottom-line is that there no right or wrong in an ethical system and it is our own perception which tints our sense of morality.
Cultural relativism has two broad categories, absolute and critical. The former argues that whatever happens within a culture has nothing to do with outsiders and therefore should not be questioned. The later forms questions about the practices in terms of who is accepting them and why.
We need to understand that there exists absolutely no culture that can be called Perfect. Cultural relativism has it’s flaws of course. Sometimes in the name of culture, we violate Human Rights but inspite of that, it is very important because it gives us objective insight, cross cultural empathy and makes us realise similarity among human cultures. It enables us to leave behind our biased mind sets and to see things in new light. It can also help to put a check on discriminatory practices and prejudiced behaviour which originates as a by-product of cultural misinterpretation. Cultural relativism important in studying and understanding other and different cultures because first and foremost we have to realise that our perception can be prejudiced while we are studying another culture. In a nutshell, cultural relativism is what we need to create a world which is equally hospitable and welcoming for everyone irrespective to their culture.
Every year on 15th June World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) is celebrated. The United Nations General Assembly officially recognized it in December 2011, on the plea of the International Network for the Prevention of Elder Abuse (INPEA). Every year many awareness programs take place globally to voice against the abuse taking place on elderly people.
What is Elder Abuse?
Elder abuse can be defined as “any act or lack of appropriate conduct that causes any harm or hampers the well-being of an elder person. Elder abuse is a global issue that requires attention internationally.
People often exploit and neglect the elderly. Their age makes them much vulnerable to abuse. Being old, body and mind become weak, making them unable to resist or take any action against any sort of exploitation or abuse. Elder abuse takes place in every corner of the world but is still taboo as no one talks about it.
The old people are often beaten, neglected, abandoned, and even sexually exploited. The elderly are not only exploited by outsiders, but even by their families. It mostly happens because people find them weak and feel them as a burden on them. There are many cases where children have abandoned their old parents after transferring all their parents’ property on their names by forceful means.
Abuse of the elderly can take many forms.
• Neglect- Life necessities such as food, clothing, shelter, and medical care are not provided.
• Verbal Abuse- Using threatening and foul language to create a sense of fear within the elderly.
• Physical Abuse- Causing physical harm by beating and even trying to kill the elder person.
• Social Abuse- Restricting the elderly from having any social contact with anyone to restrain them from sharing about the abuse they are facing.
• Financial Abuse- Forcefully taking upon the elder person’s property or illegal use of their money.
These abuses not just harm the elder person physically but also mentally. Such abuses may lead to traumatic experiences by the elderly and deteriorate their mental health, which might result in depression or anxiety.
There are laws for protecting the rights of the elderly. But when no voice is raised against the abuse, how would the laws help? The person facing such abuse often declines to lodge any complaint against it. Either they have no will left to do so after suffering so much, or they think “what the society would think if they come to know about it”.
2021’s Theme for World Elder Abuse Awareness Day
This year (2021) the theme for World Elder Abuse Awareness Day is ‘Access to Justice’. It aims at reminding the importance to address the elderly peoples’ needs who seek recourse for any wrong happening taking place with them.
The elderly deserve and need just love, care, and respect. If today’s youth is tomorrow’s future, then the elderly is the foundation of tomorrow’s future. The knowledge we have today is what has been passed on to us through generations, through our parents; our grandparents. The elderly are the tressure box to this knowledge and life lessons who need to be cherished and not abused.
Every human has the right to live a life of dignity. And the old people are nowhere to stand distinct. They deserve the same rights as any other human being. They have the same right to enjoy their rights as others do.
Meet the protagonist. Exposition through inner monologue
Things established:
Today is special
Shiva is currently troubled
Bhadra is a trusted associate
In the first page itself, three important peices of information are given to the reader, but reasons are not specified, yet.
2. Important plot point introduced and dramatic question.
Shiva does NOT like battle or bloodshed of any kind (important character description)
2. New character introduced(not explained)
Introduction of a character through another character is my favorite form of introduction. It helps in creating a sort of mystery around the character also the reader starts to get their own opinions on the character that the writer can later mould.
3.The most important part: A dramatic question is raised—Will Shiva accept the offer to go to Meluha?
3. About the protagonist and establishing stakes
Again Shiva’s displeasure towards violence is reinforced.
Information about bhadra and Shiva’s relationship and its change after Shiva became the chief is given.
Shiva’s Uncle is introduced in the story.
All three of these things are developed further in the book.
4.Activity
The name of the character previously introduced is revealed
An idea introduced: There is a mention of a greater destiny, this will be present in the readers subconcious mind throughout the story until its explained.
Again, the Readers are given more trivia about shiva’s uncle thus establishing him as an important person in Shivas life.
Just as the readers start to think about the idea, a violent scene takes place so as to bring the readers in an active state of mind. This scene helps both the protagonist as as well as the readers to form a strong opinion on the darmatic question.
5. Answering the dramatic question.
The dramatic question is answered.
They are going to meluha.
6. The showdown
Again there is attack from the prakritis but this time this scene shows Shiva letting the prakriti soldiers to go without harming them.
This is an illustration of the character description in the beginning:
They arent blood-thirsty idiots.
When will this violence end.
The Immortals of Meluha
And now in the end of the scene we see what we’ve been waiting all along, Meluha.
Amish sets up the story in such a way that within a few pages the plot is explained, stakes are made clear, relationships are established and we know enough about protagonist.
Amish nails the most important textbook rule of writing:
Set up immediately, don’t make the reader wait.
The rest of the book also follows the example of the beginning. It doesn’t drag, its precise and to the point. Overall immortals of meluha is a engaging and interesting book, definately deserves a read.
