Delhi Govt withdraws decision declaring nursing homes with bed strength between 10 to 49 as COVID centres

Delhi Government has withdrawn its order mandating all nursing homes in the city with bed strength between 10 and 49 as COVID-19 nursing homes. The city government had on Saturday declared all nursing homes in Delhi having bed capacity of 10 to 49 as Covid nursing homes. Delhi government had also asked all such nursing homes to make their Covid beds functional within three days of the issue of order. Only standalone exclusives Eye Centres, ENT Centers, Dialysis Centres, Maternity Homes and IVF Centres had been exempted as per the earlier order.

Delhi government had taken this decision to avoid intermingling of Covid and Non Covid patients in small and medium multispecialty nursing homes and to increase the bed capacity for Covid-19 patients. Cases of coronavirus are increasing in Delhi in a rapid manner.

Is Liberalism the Most Optimal Solution???

Liberalism, like socialism, fascism, or nationalism, is a political ideology. Liberalism has a longer history than most political ideologies. It has primarily evolved out of sustained struggles against hierarchically organised social and political relations. In various ways, liberalism captures the ideological map of various political struggles that human beings have witnessed, roughly in the last 300 years. Benjamin Constant, a forerunner of liberalism, held that liberty for the ancients ‘consisted in an active and constant participation in collective power’, whereas for the moderns it consisted in ‘peaceful enjoyment and private independence’.

Over the past four centuries liberalism has been so successful that it has driven all its opponents off the battlefield. Now it is disintegrating, destroyed by a mix of hubris and internal contradictions, according to Patrick Deneen, a professor of politics at the University of Notre Dame. The gathering wreckage of liberalism’s twilight years can be seen all around, especially in America, Mr Deneen’s main focus. The founding tenets of the faith have been shattered. Equality of opportunity has produced a new meritocratic aristocracy that has all the aloofness of the old aristocracy with none of its sense of noblesse oblige.

Democracy has degenerated into a theatre of the absurd. And technological advances are reducing ever more areas of work into meaningless drudgery. “The gap between liberalism’s claims about itself and the lived reality of the citizenry” is now so wide that “the lie can no longer be accepted,” Mr Deneen writes. What better proof of this than the vision of 1,000 private planes whisking their occupants to Davos to discuss the question of “creating a shared future in a fragmented world”?

Liberalism is more than one thing. On any close examination, it seems to fracture into a range of related but sometimes competing visions. In this entry we focus on debates within the liberal tradition. (1) We contrast three interpretations of liberalism’s core commitment to liberty. (2) We contrast ‘old’ and ‘new’ liberalism.(3) We ask whether liberalism is a ‘comprehensive’ or a ‘political’ doctrine. (4) We close with questions about the ‘ reach’ of liberalism — does it apply to all humankind? Must all political communities be liberal? Could a liberal coherently answer this question by saying No? Could a liberal coherently answer this question by saying Yes?

Political Liberalism:-

As his work evolved, Rawls insisted that his liberalism was not a ‘comprehensive’ doctrine, that is, one which includes an overall theory of value, an ethical theory, an epistemology, or a controversial metaphysics of the person and society. Our modern societies, characterized by a ‘reasonable pluralism’, are already filled with such doctrines. The aim of ‘political liberalism’ is not to add yet another sectarian doctrine, but to provide a political framework that is neutral between such controversial comprehensive doctrines. If it is to serve as the basis for public reasoning in our diverse western societies, liberalism must be restricted to a core set of political principles that are, or can be, the subject of consensus among all reasonable citizens. Rawls’s notion of a purely political conception of liberalism seems more austere than the traditional liberal political theories discussed above, being largely restricted to constitutional principles upholding basic civil liberties and the democratic process.

Optimal liberal solutions can be used to remove political inequality from the society. There are two ways to this. One, Rights of Capital from the perspective of income and control. Two, Rights to Capital which could be direct or indirect. Hence, these are the two main things through which liberalism can do good to the society.

Although liberalism had been on the ascendant since the end of Cold War and the demise of communism in Soviet Russia, prompting some to even make the foolhardy claim of an end to ideology, the future of liberal theory and practice will depend largely on how precisely it meets its criticisms and shortcomings.

“The way in which liberalism Institutionalises self-criticism will itself be a gurantee of its progress”.) – Alan Ryan

MANAGEMENT

Management has become an important Economic organ of the present industrial society. Every person in the world from the family head to the prime minister of the country or from the worker to the Managing director of a Joint-stock company is busy in managing different types of affairs that he has to perform in discharging his/her entrusted duties. Management is the coordination of human and physical resources towards the attainment of objectives. By managing different activities, we can best utilize our available scarce resources. As the mind of a person controls his activities, similarly management controls the business organization, men, machines, and materials in getting the work accomplished.

TRADITIONAL AND MODERN CONCEPT OF MANAGEMENT

Management is related to the dynamic process of establishing objectives of the organization, harnessing and coordinating its human as well as other resources, and ultimately to the attainment of goals. It is a process of creating a creating conducive environment for humanitarian efforts, to reach the organization’s goals effectively and efficiently. According to  C.S George who describes management as “Management is a distinct process consisting of planning, organizing, actuating and controlling, performed to determine and accomplish the objectives by the use of people and resources” Traditional concept of management restricted management to getting things done.

According to the modern view, management covers a wide range of business-related activities. According to modern thinkers, “Management is a process of an activity a discipline and an effort to coordinate, control and direct individuals and group efforts towards attaining the cherished goal of the business”. Another aspect of management is presented by Harold Koontz and O’ Donnell, “Management is the art of getting things done through and with the help of a formally organized group”. To be more specific, to manage is to forecast and to plan, to organize, to command, and to control.

CONCEPT OF MANAGEMENT

Management is a set of functions directed at the efficient utilization of the resources in the pursuit of organizational goals. To be more specific, to manage is to forecast and to plan, to organize, to command, to coordinate, and to control. To foresee means examining the future and drawing up the plan of action. To organize means building up the dual structure, material, and human of the undertaking. To command means maintaining activity among the personal. To coordinate means binding together, unifying, and harnessing all activities and efforts. To control means seeing that everything occurs in conformity with the established rules and expressed command. By efficient utilization of resources using resources wisely and in a cost-efficient manner. By effectiveness, we mean making the right decisions and successfully implementing them. Efficiency and Effectiveness are interrelated, for instance, it is easier to be effective if one ignores efficiency. The effect of good management is nothing short of remarkable. Take an under-performing-even chaotic-organization and install a skilled manager and him/she soon can have the enterprise humming like a well-tuned machine. Studies have shown that 90 percent of the business fail generally due to poor management.

Unlock 1.0 or Self Lockdown

Recently, Ministry of Home affairs has made announcement Unlock 1.0 and released advisory with all norms on 31 may 2020.Indian economy was suffering the virus impact from Janta curfew of 22 march and followed by different phases of the lockdown, mentioned here.

  • Phase 1: from 25 March 2020 to 14 April 2020 (21 days)
  • Phase 2: from 15 April 2020 to 3 May 2020 (19 days)
  • Phase 3: from 4 May 2020 to 17 May 2020 (14 days)
  • Phase 4: from 18 May 2020 to 31 May 2020 (14 days)
  • Phase 5 (only for containment zones) : from 1 June 2020 – ongoing (7 days) scheduled to end on 30 June 2020

The lockdown phase 1 was introduced in India when the Corona cases were near about 500 and government seemed to be much worried and imposed a strict lockdown while other countries Italy, Spain, USA were relaxed enough about the concern. This way of our government had showed a true responsible and dutiful spirit of the body governing.

Our government and people were folloing ICMR which was moving one step ahead of WHO in the prevention of the virus. ICMR stated to meet the peak of the live corona cases in the month of June and July and the same is happening.

Here above graph depicts out the harsh reality of Unlock 1.0. Italy, UK, Spain, Germany and many more countries have gone through unlocking process when they attained the decline in corona cases but Indian Unlock 1.0 doesn’t seem to have any decline but usual surge in cases.

Another thing is that ICMR is giving sign of community transmission which will put India in very difficult situation. The need of time is to stay home as much as possible and to put social distancing in habit to stay safe.

So keep updated and stay home, follow social distacing and remain safe not for youself but for family and grand citizens. You may be rich in immunity……may be you can fight well with corona but try not to be carrier.

Thanks for reading.

Leading from the front-3

Thank you so much for reading so far! I hope you enjoy this segment of self-improvement and leadership.

There are a lot of things you can do if you really decide to change yourself. But the most important out of all is to take the initiative.

1. Listen to others

There is nothing more frustrating to anyone than someone who doesn’t listen, moreover, someone who does not pay attention and interrupt while speaking. When you are in the path of being a good leader, you have to be as open as possible. Being a leader means, you have to be dependable. Being a leader is very overwhelming, but I assure you that being able to communicate can really make your work go smoothly and openly. Successful leadership is for your members to trust you. And as humans are social beings, strong communication can really help.

Any job, whatever it may be, may come with a lot of stress and sacrifices. As an employee what he/she would appreciate is someone who they can depend on and also know that the person leading or representing is steady and would understand them.

2.Respect

When you want respect from your employees you would have to respect them. Like the saying give respect take respect.respect is something conveys a sense of admiration for good or valuable qualities. And it is also the process of honouring someone by exhibiting care, concern, or consideration for their needs or feelings, that’s what Wikipedia says. It can be anything to you but most importantly is to see the person as one of you.you and your employees or even any stranger on the street are human and deserve respect. Everyone deserves respect.no matter if you are a joke or not you deserve respect and should respect others.you should never make someone feel that they are less than you so they do not deserve respect when you are a leader. You should really be able to be with your colleagues and friends not follow them or make them follow. like the first point,’Listen’

3.Confidence

Being a leader, makes you take some decisions you don’t want to take or sometimes are forced to take. It might be a gamble occasionally, and you would really feel you have let everyone around you down. Sometimes you would feel like you really don’t know what to do when everyone is looking at you. You feel like you are so alone in this world and you feel like everything is going against you. No matter how alone you feel, or how you feel the world has turned against you, you have to be able to remind yourself that you will always have yourself to depend on. No matter what happens, no matter how scared you feel, even if you are shivering down to your bones, you have to be able to act brave and confident. But trust me, depending on yourself and being able to believe in yourself will take you a long way. Way ahead than you would have, if you were crawled up because you were scared.

I know these are the most obvious points to improve yourself. but these are the most challenging points to get over. I myself have a long way to go. I really hope you would keep in mind all these things. Let both You and me make a journey to self-improvement.”Let us be the best us, because no one but us would and will help us.”.

Data Security In Edtech Industries.

Edtech stands for education and technology. The role of an Edtech company is to use all the hardware, software in enhancing the education system. Their major purpose and goal is to design certain hardware and software products for the educational institutions. Due to the rise in technology now students can have access to e-learning and learn from home.

Edtech security risks.

EdTech security risks create ransomware, account takeover, and data security risks for college districts.
New EdTech supports innovation in teaching and enriches learning. However, that very same technology can leave you susceptible and open to cyberattacks. It poses risks to student privacy and safety, and increases the risks you want to face in terms of knowledge breaches and ransomware attacks. Many people say that school districts are facing a cybersecurity crisis. Fortunately, there are steps you can take to manage EdTech security risks.

Account Takeovers: Hackers can takeover accounts of teachers and students. The hackers may be able to make purchases using a credit card. They can use their account access to send phishing emails to other contacts and gain access to more accounts and information. Or, they’ll be ready to take over a Facebook profile and send bullying messages to other students supported their personal information. They could also take over an email account for an administrator and wreak all kinds of havoc.
Data Loss: Hackers can destroy school records once they need access. They are also known to redirect contractor payments to dummy accounts that the hackers control, and use employee information to steal tax returns. On a private level, students, staff, and fogeys can face fraud , a drag which will take years to resolve.
Classroom and Learning Disruption: Whether students are unable to access online lessons, or teachers are unable to prepare and present online lessons, the disruption to the classroom and learning opportunities is a significant problem. Flagstaff administrative district recently had to cancel school thanks to a ransomware attack that impacted building security, phones, and other systems.

Managing the security risks.

. 24/7 Monitoring
Monitor the activity on your systems to spot abnormal behavior that would result from an account takeover. This activity might be unusual login locations and lateral phishing emails that would indicate an account takeover.

  1. Schedule Automatic Action First try and Identify the EdTech and SaaS applications that are connected to your district G Suite or Office365 systems. Then, automatically classify their risk potential. Once identified, you’ll take action automatically or manually to sanction, prohibit, remove, or notify the offender. In some cases, more than one of those actions is appropriate.

If your monitoring uncovers a known malicious app, otherwise you determine an app to be malicious, define a procedure for checking with the user. Find out if the user added the app intentionally , or if it might be a results of an account takeover. In this situation, it’s a good idea to suggest that the user reset their account password.

  1. Update Your Cloud Safety Measures

Review your G Suite for Education security measures to make sure that you’re using them to the fullest. And, conduct a cloud security audit to spot anything you’ll be missing.

  1. Create an EdTech Policy Manual
It’s critical that everyone in your district understands the importance of protecting the security of your data. They should also be aware of the fact that cybercriminals are targeting K-12 institutions. Make sure the manual defines:

The EdTech that is approved for use
The minimum security and privacy requirements for new EdTech
The process for vetting new EdTech apps
Managing your EdTech security risks is one among the simplest weapons you’ve got against cybercriminals. If your administrative district doesn’t have an automatic system to spot and manage the EdTech apps that are connected to district G Suite and Office 365 environments, your defense isn’t as strong as it could be. Fortunately, identifying EdTech security risks in your environment doesn’t have to be difficult—or particularly expensive.

Be a good listener

Today I woke up early in the morning, got done with my chores, had an amazing cup of coffee, took a refreshing bath and just sat and had my delicious breakfast(brunch), suddenly my phone started ringing like an earthquake, picked it up said ‘hello’, the first sentence that I heard from friend was ‘Sushant Singh Rajput is no more’, I was like ‘are you mad’, she asked me to google it and as I googled it flashed the headlines of Sushant Singh’s demise. I was shocked and devastated, couldn’t believe of what suddenly happened, switched onn the television to confirm the news and there it was ‘Sushant Singh Rajput commits suicide at his Bandra house’. It was a bizarre moment for me,couldn’t believe of what was actually happening, what I just saw can be fake but it was true, he has actually passed away. Few days back I was watching ‘Kedarnath’ (movie starring Sushant Singh and Sara Ali Khan) and I remember that half of the time I was just looking at the hero and did not even focused on the movie. He was a generous and kind and a very talented actor. Why did this happened? What made him to dive into sorrow because of which he took such a big step? Why are we and all the famous personalities remembering him after his demise? Is this all because loneliness? Is it true that being successful can never make you happy? Earning loads of money can never buy us happiness, happiness comes from our people, our family who are the strong pillars of our life, there can be multiple reasons behind his demise but none of us can do anything, we can just mourn over his demise and pray for his soul so that he can rest in peace. His death gave me a message that life is too short but the world is big consisting of billions of people and we human beings rely on a small group of people whom we call as ‘family’, but what separates us from them is the communication gap, is living alone and not taking out a minute to talk to our loved ones. Have we become soo selfish that we can’t even ask our people about their health, about their problems? What about our so called ‘modern technology’? What about the video calls that we do and screenshot them and put them up on social media? My dear friends there are many Sushant Singh Rajput in this world who are suffering from mental sickness, counting their every single breath, where they have no one to communicate, they have no one’s back on whom they can rely and share their things with, weep with them the whole night, have a drink, there is no on with whom they can share share their love with. This quarantine has made us soo pessimistic, has left us with no hope that people are forcing themselves everyday to take this wrong step to end their lives. We as human beings should get out of shells, save someone, call them up and above all be a good listener, it will just take few minutes to ask about the other person’s health. My dear unkind, selfish humans take out sometime, help them to share their problems with you, listen to them calmly, give them a solution, lend your shoulder to weep because life is to short to gossip about and we are getting self-centered with technologies. If you try something delicious share it with your friends and family. So make this as a motto of your life, take out few minutes, talk to them, save them and repeat this and spread some love instead of spreading virus.

Sushant Singh Rajput, though we will move on in our lives but your smile and your work will never let us forget you. May your soul rest in peace.

TIME MANAGEMENT AND TIPS TO INCREASE PRODUCTIVITY

It is easy to urge swayed by the plethora of activities which occur in college. Amidst all this it’s crucial to stay track of the tutorial workload or it’s commonplace to urge caught up by the pressure during the last months of the semester. Check out these tips for effective time management.
1. Write down everythingWith everything going digital, we frequently forget to truly write things down. Be it assignment deadlines or extra classes, writing down saves us from the last moment panic. Keep a separate notebook to write down down everything important. This helps in proper planning and completing the tasks.
2. Cellphone as an efficient toolIt is easy to get lost in the world of endless scrolling in the social networking apps. But with self regulation we can use our mobile phone as our best tool. Keep a copy of the class notes and books in the digital form. This helps in revising things even when books aren’t around.
3. Maintain your healthDo not take your health for granted. Having irregular sleeping habits, improper diets, excessive alcohol and drug usage deteriorate the body slowly. Without proper health, it’s impossible to cope up with college academics, extra-curriculars. Thus your health should be your first priority.
4. Be organizedKeep your things during a way such you are doing not need to spend hours just checking out them. Having books, notebooks, assignment copies in proper places saves tons of your time and helps in completing task faster.
Even for the digital copies, arrange them in proper directories. It is also important to stay only the required items and take away the rubbish .
5. Prioritize your tasksYou should have a clear idea of what to do when. Prioritize your activities. This helps in increasing your overall efficiency. It is okay not to do all those things which others are doing. Focus on your goals and work on reaching them.

Time management is probably the foremost crucial element of productivity and it’s also what we get wrong most of the time. Either we get too aggressive about managing time that we stress ourselves beyond the limit or we abate such a lot that each one the work gets accumulated for the last hour. Try to follow the tips below

1 . Say no to micro and macro managementDo not think too ahead when managing time. In that way all what happens is building castles within the air until all of them break down. Also don’t think too rigorously i.e by every half an hour for what you’ve got to try to to . Set an achievable target consistent with your potential and check out to realize it within the deadline set.
2. Write down the tasksYou can use simple note taking apps like Google Keep to notice down your goals. You can also use a Whatsapp group (where you’re the only member) to stay a note of the essential things. Writing down a task prevents you from forgetting it and acts as a push to finish it.
3. Year, month, week, dayBreak your goal into the months needed to finish it. Then further reduce it into rough plans for weeks. From here you can set your daily targets and work on them. Before getting to sleep, have your targets ready for subsequent day. It will take considerable effort to stick within the first few days but once you begin you’ll adapt to the target.
4. Rewards and buffer timeMicro-rewards for completing every task gives you another reason to end it. It can be anything from eating your favourite ice cream to watch that long awaited movie. Think that you simply wouldn’t roll in the hay until you finish your goal. Apart from this, keep some buffer time within the routine. It adds flexibility to the schedule and may be helpful if you miss the target thanks to some reason. Read this text on additional tips to enhance yourself on a daily basis.
5. Prioritization and Cutoff tasksPrioritise your tasks. Make sure you are doing the foremost important tasks first. People often fall under a trap of finishing the better tasks first, thinking that they had a productive time. But that is only fooling yourself. You know automatically which would be the most challenging task. So confirm that’s finished first at any cost. Manage your tasks well. Apart from this, set a cutoff for every task. This means that albeit the whole task isn’t finished, confirm to end an honest amount of it.

6. Stay clear of toxic activitiesDo not engage in activities that are toxic and unnecessary. They do not increase your growth in any manner and are nothing but wastage of your energy and time. Stay beyond all such things which prevent you from completing your tasks and reduce the general productivity.

Language- A key to enter in another world

In a world with 195 countries and every country separated with a border consisting of various human kind, culture, race, caste, and speaking different languages, makes me realise how vast our world is and what makes us different from the other people living in a different country or state. Language is the only key which helps us to express our feelings, desires and queries to the world around us. A language is a way of communicating with the others and it is the only thing which describes who we are,it defines our lifestyle and our culture. Though we live in the same house sharing the same blood relation,we speak differently, our tone always differs. I have also experimented a new language Japanese and have explored multiple and hidden treasures of this language. While I was learning I realised that it is not only a difficult language to learn but it teaches you enormous things of living a new life, adapting their gestures, their culture and also gives you the advantage to experience a unique cuisine and makes you aware of the fascinating facts about Japanese culture.

Advantages of learning a foreign language

The advantages of learning foreign languages are mushrooming as the world is becoming increasingly globalized and learning a different language is a useful real world skill, hence you should make an effort to learn a foreign language, rather than becoming a couched potato.

2.Travelling will become easier. If you are travelling to a new country and it is difficult to navigate a place or to understand somethings, language will work as a tour guide for you because without the right lingo, you are limited to expensive or slower options. So you can save sometime, money and can travel easily.

3.Foreign language opens up a world to multiple opportunities but because of our dearly guest Corona Virus, it is difficult for us to find a job, but with the help of learning a foreign language it becomes easier for us to get job offers and we can also help in the teaching sector and the domestic sector.

4.Learning a foreign language helps you understand and respect your own language and culture this the most unexpected fact about learning a language.Just like we give much importance to English and in order of learning an speaking English, there is no existence of Hindi our own mother tongue, in our lives.

5.We can also interact with the others and make new friends. It helps us to express our feelings, desires and connect with other humans like us and form a relationship.Plus, speaking in a foreign tongue can be like speaking in a code language with your buddy.

Stress, anxiety and Depression

We often hear people using these terms in today’s world. They have a bit similar symptoms, but are yet so different. All the three terms have different meanings.

Stress

Maybe All of us don’t have the power to treat such conditions but the least we can do is be kind to one another. You never know what someone might be going through. There maybe some hidden battles that they might be facing but plastering them all with a smiling face.
Whenever someone tells you that you have hurt them, don’t shut them out. You don’t get to decide if you hurt them or not. Don’t make them feel like a fool for expressing their feelings. Don’t always be self righteous and think that you can never make a mistake. If your actions are bothering or hurting someone, STOP!
If unknowingly or knowingly your actions hurt someone, then avoid doing it. The means of your fun and entertainment might affect someone’s mental health.Be careful with the words that you use. You never know what impact they might have.
You can save someone just by being kind and being there for them. May it be your family or friends, always ask them how they are.
