PTSD through Harry Potter

β€œThe conflict between the will to deny horrible events and the will to proclaim them aloud is the central dialectic of psychological trauma.”
― Judith Lewis Herman,Β Trauma and Recovery: The Aftermath of Violence – From Domestic Abuse to Political Terror

PTSD is short for post-traumatic stress disorder, which is a psychiatric disorder that may occur in people who have experienced or witnessed a traumatic event such as a natural disaster, a serious accident, a terrorist act, war/combat, or rape or who have been threatened with death, sexual violence or serious injury.
But how do we know that harry potter had PTSD?
In short, Harry lost his parents at a very young age. He had extremely abusive foster parents, who forced him to work for them and called him names.
Even when he started school he was bullied quite a lot of times as he was the chosen one. His friend Cedric Diggory, his favorite professor – Albus dumbledore, his godfather, and numerous of his friends die in front of him. He was tortured by Voldemort and dementors.
In The book cursed child we see that Harry tells his son Albus that he’s afraid and while most everyone would think it’d have something to do with Voldemort or his trauma through Hogwarts, it’s even more emotional.

He tells Albus that he’s afraid of the dark and small spaces. While some people do not instantly recognize the significance, the line shows that Harry’s time with the Dursleys is, unfortunately, what has stayed with him the longest.

The dark and the small space he’s referring to? That’s the cupboard under the stairs that the Dursleys made him live in while he was growing up. With plenty of space and money to give Harry a happy childhood, they refused and threw him into their cupboard and made him cook and clean for them.
Let’s look at PTSD symptoms and compare them with the symptoms that harry displayed
Some PTSD symptoms are behavioral they are – Agitation, irritability, hostility, hypervigilance, self-destructive behavior, or social isolation. We do see some irritability (sometimes), but not so much hostility or agitation or self-destructive behavior or social isolation in harry.

there are Psychological symptoms too like – flashbacks, fear, severe anxiety, or mistrust. He has a lot of flashbacks, but He does have some fear but not a whole lot of anxiety or mistrust.

Mood-related symptoms can be – Loss of interest or pleasure in activities, guilt, or loneliness. He seems to enjoy most activities that people should enjoy, but he does seem to feel guilty a lot. He appeared to be very lonely before he was a wizard but he made some friends at Hogwarts

symptoms relating to Sleep are- Insomnia or nightmares. He seems to have some nights where he can’t sleep, but not to the point of insomnia. But he seems to have a lot of nightmares.

When you have PTSD, it might feel like you’ll never get your life back. But it can be treated. Short- and long-term psychotherapy and medications can work very well. Often, the two kinds of treatment are more effective together.

PTSD therapy has three main goals:

Improve your symptoms
Teach you skills to deal with it
Restore your self-esteem

Cognitive Processing Therapy
(CPT is a 12-week course of treatment, with weekly sessions of 60-90 minutes. At first, you’ll talk about the traumatic event with your therapist and how your thoughts related to it have affected your life. Then you’ll write in detail about what happened. This process helps you examine how you think about your trauma and figure out new ways to live with it.)
Prolonged Exposure Therapy
(If you’ve been avoiding things that remind you of the traumatic event, PE will help you confront them. It involves eight to 15 sessions, usually 90 minutes each. Early on in treatment, your therapist will teach you breathing techniques to ease your anxiety when you think about what happened. Later, you’ll make a list of the things you’ve been avoiding and learn how to face them, one by one. In another session, you’ll recount the traumatic experience to your therapist, then go home and listen to a recording of yourself.)
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing
(With EMDR, you might not have to tell your therapist about your experience. Instead, you concentrate on it while you watch or listen to something they’re doing — maybe moving a hand, flashing light, or making a sound.
The goal is to be able to think about something positive while you remember your trauma)
Medications
Fluoxetine (Prozac)
Paroxetine (Paxil)
Sertraline (Zoloft)
Venlafaxine (Effexor)

WHAT TO DO WHEN WE FAIL?

We all fail at some point. It’s unavoidable and definitely not a pleasant experience. Our self-confidence and self-esteem might hit the ground. Constant questions of self-doubts arises. But any kind of failure can be an amazing opportunity for growth and development when we approach it the right way.

Here are few things to remember when something doesn’t go your way.

FAILURE IS NOT FATAL

It’s never too late to re-start and pursue your dreams and goals, in one way or another. If you look around there always be hidden opportunities waiting for you to showcase your abilities and skills. There will always be another chance, and this time you can approach with greater readiness and experience. Remember that everything happens for a reason, each opportunity has something to teach you.

LEARN YOUR LESSON

One of the greatest advantages of failures, is that it makes you wiser. It gives you a chance to question yourself about the faults in the process and gives you a chance to re-invent and re-discover yourself. Helps you consider your situations from multiple perspectives. This is also the time when you seek for help from trusted Β friends and colleagues for their inputs and reviews.

BE PREPARED FOR THE WORSE

It is harder to accept failure when you did not consider it be one of the outcomes of your process. Confidence is a good trait but being fully prepared for any outcome is helpful since this mindset will help you avoid feeling devastated when something doesn’t turn out the way you envisioned it.

Always keep a plan B and act on it immediately. This doesn’t mean that you need to give up or have a defeatist attitude, just to be ready for any outcome. This might help you have a backup or consider your resources more carefully than if you go all in.

NOTHING IS PERSONAL

A problem with failure is that we see it as something that reflects on us and our personal failings. But just as often, our failure happens due to factors that have nothing to do with us. Maybe we offer something that is not wanted or maybe there are objective circumstances thatΒ  change the situation beyond our control. Learn from your mistakes but don’t pin each situation solely on yourself. By Acknowledging that we don’t have control over the world, we can become resilient and focused on what’s within out purview.

keep going, keep growing

BE KIND TO YOURSELF

Approaching the failure with compassion is an important thing to remember. Often, we are really harsh to ourselves and that discourages us from trying again or learning from the mistakes we made.

Failure is not pleasant but is significant, and looking at any story of success, we will always find the failures that built it. See it as a necessary step, a chance to learn, and you will bounce back better and faster.

Love

Love has many meanings. It can mean being affectionate towards a person, and the affection reciprocated. Love is a set of emotions that we experience. Love could also mean beliefs or behaviors that show your affection towards someone. Love is a feeling that everybody yearns. It makes them feel happy and vital.

Love can be for many things, family, partners, pets, nature, and even for oneself. Honesty, care, and trust accompany love. As humans, we depend on one and other, and though we may be different, love binds us all together and making the world a much better place.

AdoreΒ is theΒ numerousΒ feelingsΒ that we experienced whenΒ warmthΒ and careΒ appearedΒ to us. ItΒ isn’tΒ fairΒ sentiment.Β CherishΒ canΒ cruelΒ numerousΒ things and canΒ shiftΒ fromΒ individualΒ toΒ individual.Β Genuineness, care, andΒ believeΒ constituteΒ cherish.Β EverybodyΒ needsΒ to beΒ adored. It gives themΒ joyΒ and makes them feel like they matter. WeΒ cherishΒ forΒ numerousΒ things, and theΒ adoreΒ we thinkΒ shiftsΒ all throughΒ our lives.

OurΒ to begin withΒ encounterΒ ofΒ adoreΒ is at birth. The bond that weΒ frameΒ with ourΒ guardiansΒ is one of the purest.Β GuardiansΒ adoreΒ us from theΒ minuteΒ we are born, and thisΒ adoreΒ as it wereΒ developsΒ more grounded. They care for us andΒ offer assistanceΒ usΒ move forward. A childΒ continuouslyΒ needs the warmth andΒ adoreΒ of theirΒ guardians. As weΒ developΒ more seasoned, we learn toΒ gotten to beΒ moreΒ autonomousΒ andΒ don’tΒ requireΒ ourΒ guardiansΒ as much.Β In any case, they areΒ continuouslyΒ there when weΒ requireΒ them, and they will everΒ cherishΒ us. As theyΒ developΒ more seasoned, theyΒ requireΒ ourΒ offer assistanceΒ andΒ consideration. Moving on with our lives andΒ overlookingΒ approximatelyΒ themΒ influencesΒ them, and they feel lonely. WeΒ ought toΒ be there for them the same way they were with us.

KinΒ may notΒ continuouslyΒ get along andΒ battleΒ always, but theΒ adoreΒ between them is theΒ most grounded.Β In spite ofΒ all theΒ insuperableΒ andΒ contentions, they willΒ continuouslyΒ protectΒ us and keep usΒ secure. TheΒ adoreΒ between them isΒ implicitΒ but still felt; the expression ofΒ cherishΒ isn’tΒ the way we think it to be.Β In spite of the fact thatΒ kinΒ may not say, β€œIΒ adoreΒ you,” we know that they do. Grandparents shower theirΒ cherishΒ for their grandkids. TheyΒ tooΒ needΒ to spend time with them andΒ makeΒ recollections, and they are there for us no matter what. TheyΒ continuouslyΒ needΒ to see their grandchildrenΒ upbeat.

Love is the base for romantic relationships; two partners who care and love each other. They trust each other and try to work out their differences when they fight. Friendships also have the essence of love. Though it may not be romantic, friends still love us. They care for us, make us happy, and care about us. Friendships based on popularity and status does not last long.

FellowshipsΒ requireΒ believeΒ andΒ somebodyΒ whoΒ you’llΒ open to withoutΒ consideringΒ twice. You makeΒ the leadingΒ memories and haveΒ the foremostΒ fun. Most of all, a friend isΒ somebodyΒ you’llΒ tallyΒ on;Β that’sΒ cherish.Β Some of the time, theseΒ connectionsΒ may not work out.Β Instead ofΒ feelingΒ off-baseΒ andΒ dishonorable, we must cherish theΒ minutesΒ we had and notΒ despiseΒ anyone.Β AdoreΒ can be towards nature:Β increasing in valueΒ whatΒ SoilΒ has given us andΒ ensuringΒ them with care.

AdoringΒ yourself isΒ the foremostΒ vital. WhenΒ somebodyΒ actsΒ in an unexpected wayΒ from what othersΒ seeΒ asΒ ordinary, they areΒ regularlyΒ cleared outΒ out. We must learn toΒ acknowledgeΒ who we are and the way weΒ see. Once weΒ acknowledgeΒ ourselves,Β we willΒ reallyΒ cherish.Β CherishΒ isn’tΒ almost aboutΒ otherΒ individuals, but itΒ is additionallyΒ almostΒ adoringΒ ourselvesΒ to begin with.Β AdoreΒ is additionallyΒ toleratingΒ others for who they are, not what weΒ anticipateΒ them to be.

Afghanistan – A tragedy that has no saving

The President of the USA, Joe Biden chose to play the card that the presidents before him had put on the game – the complete withdrawal of armed personnel from Afghanistan. This would mean an end to about 20 years of war in the country that had pitched the NATO and the US against a radical Islamic militant group to a supposed war on terrorism.

The Taliban controlled about 90% of all Afghanistan before 2001. It even had embassies established in Pakistan and Saudi Arabia – the only two countries to give recognition to the government. It was after the 9-11 attacks that it suddenly became an enemy to every state on the planet that supported USA. The US and its NATO allies invaded the Afghanistan that was already torn between the Taliban led groups and the democratic rebels. 20 years have passed since then. From young adults born after 2001 to a now estranged prince of the British royal family, a lot of people fought in Afghanistan. The results were visible with the Taliban clearly on the loss. But, the results were never conclusive. And now, when the US and the NATO would finally withdraw from a war that never reached a conclusion, Taliban has all good reasons to take back what it owned for a brief period of time.

Afghan politics has become highly broken – factions that want peace but not the loss of a theologically driven Taliban government and many more of people wanting a democracy – the government promised in the first Afghan republic in the late 1960s. For the present state of a mujahideen within the once flourishing nation has always been there, but the present state of catastrophe is a result of the Soviet-American rivalry. It was due to the establishment of the Afghan Socialist state that the mujahideen and the Soviet-Afghan war erupted and it was because of obvious and many-a-times accepted training by the Pakistani(Parvez Musharaff, the Army general of Pakistan and later President of Pakistan accepted on a TV show that the Taliban and Lashkar were heroes to him and his people) and American forces (American newspapers have routinely praised not just Taliban but also the infamous Osama Bin Laden during the war) that the logistics, tactics and power of these mujahideen forces reached to a point where they could establish an emirate that spanned most of Afghanistan.

Afghanistan - Wikipedia
Is there any redemption for Afghanistan?

The return of Taliban will not only usher a new era of repression for the Afghans – especially women, children and the now diminished minorities, but also to the neighbouring nations of India, Iran and Central Asia – where the rise of Taliban may lead to new found difficulties in security and trade. The radical Islamists founded the Indian mujahideen as a cause to create a similar situation in India a couple of decades ago. The specific case of India is being raised here because it has strong cultural and economic interests in Afghanistan. The Chabahar port in Iran is India’s strongest option against China’s CPEC and the Gwadar port. Other than this, with an unfortunate history of militancy and extra state actors in North Western India, to have a neighbour ruled by groups of similar ideologies is dangerous for it. India should find ways to support Kabul militarily, for the statements made by Pakistan Prime Minister where he expressed his inadequacy in pressuring Taliban for a ceasefire leaves no neighbour but India to hold the hands of a now weaker government at Kabul. However, India has so far refused to be involved militarily, let alone be involved now, when it could end being the only player in the game.

Afghanistan looks grim. So does its future. The case is unlike ISIS. Common people had supported the Taliban insurgency. And the opium rich state an fund the group for years once it comes to power. Afghanistan looks like a lost cause, with no friends to support it in the problem that should have the highest priority to be solved – the problem of insurgency.

The Fault in our Stars- The ending we all deserve

A young boy was in the cemetery with his mother, the boy’s mother pulling her oxygen tank behind her stopped at a grave and gently replaced the wilted flowers with fresh ones and kept a new pack of cigarettes next to it. As a tear rolled down her eyes, the boy came up to her and tugged on her sleeve. She was wearing the same old black dress she wore 5 years ago this day, at the very same spot.

“Mom, when is going to wake up, I really want to play with him”, he asked his mother.

“What can I say, he just loves to nap like a cat, all day long. I’m kind of getting sick oh him too “, she wiped her eyes,

“Come on Peter, its time to go, we’ll let this sloth rest some more, Okay?”

“Okay.”, he replied, clutched on her hands and galloped his way back to the car.

Isaac was waiting in his car, with his typical sunglasses on. He had been offered his most awaited robot eyes, but he refused because he didn’t want to look at a world where there was no Augustus. He helped Peter climb up on the front seat, closed the door and put his seat belt on.

“Car picnic?”, he asked Peter who was always excited every time they came to visit Augustus, as he got to meet his favorite pal Isaac. Afterwards they would visit Funky Bones and have his mother’s special Tomato and Dutch Cheese sandwich. He wondered where she learned to make it from, they were really saggy because of the excess tomatoes she put in, but he loved them. Later they would go to Isaac’s place and play Counter Insurgence. He had gotten better at it than Isaac, but Isaac would say “Augustus is still better than you” to get back at him. This was what made Peter so eager to meet Augustus so he could finally show how good he was at his this game.

“Hey, do you want me to go with you tomorrow? I can get mom to look after Peter”, Hazel asked Isaac.

“No I’ll be fine, I actually want to do this alone”, said Issac.

He didn’t. The only person he would rather have gone with was Augustus. He was getting his eye surgery done finally, because how could he not? He didn’t want to not look at Augustus’s son anymore. He wanted to know how blue his eyes were, how crooked his smile, just like his father. He wanted him to grow up and go “egging at ex-girlfriends’ houses” with him, only this time he wanted to be sure where he was throwing the egg. He wasn’t getting his eyes back to look at an Augustus-less world, he was getting them because he couldn’t live without seeing the last piece of Augustus. The only person he wanted to share this day with was Augustus and Hazel understood.

“Okay. Give me a call when you are done. Peter and I will go pick you up.”

Isaac was waiting for his turn at the doctor’s chamber. He was nervous, scared but full of hope. The hope of seeing the unexpected. He heard his name called, and the nurse helped him inside.

“Hello”, he said. “My name is Isaac Lahey. I have a 2:30 appointment”

Sitting behind her desk was Monica in a white coat.

She had broken up with Isaac because she was in love with him. And if they were together and he died, then she wasn’t sure she’d be able to love anyone anymore. After she broke up. she had gone into her room, cried for a few days, and moved to New York City, because staying would’ve reminded her of Isaac too much. But there was one problem. When she tried to leave, her car was egged. She spent a few hours cleaning it up, and quickly left after that. After making it to NYC, she stayed with a friend, went to medical school, specialized in Ophthalmology, in memory of Isaac , whom she hadn’t spoken to in 6 years, hoping that one day a tall, lanky, dark haired guy would walk into her office with a pair of dark shades, and she would be the one giving his eyes back and the one first one he sees when he finally can.

Monica did a double take, ran towards him and kissed him, then jabbed surgical weapons down Isaac’s eye sockets but lets skip that part.

Biography: Guru Nanak

He was born on 15th April,1469 into a Bedi (Khastriya) family in a Muslim village of Rai Bhoi Di Talwandi, now called Nankana sahib near Lahore. His father was Mehta Kalyan Das Bedi, popularly shortened to Kalu Mehta and his mother was Tripta Devi. At the age of 5 he voiced his interest in divine subjects. Ways to a fruitful life for teens

TEENAGE IS OFTEN DESCRIBED AS A BURNING AGE” because this period is of the uttermost importance in an individual’s life as one goes through physical , social, emotional and mental changes through this period. The transition from a child to adult is not easy. It brings with itself many sets of complications.

While 00 to 14 years are categorised under children , the age group between 15 to 24 is categorised as youths. Teenage takes the age group between 13 to 18 years i.e the individuals going through this age are treated at times as children and other times as youths. Now this is a very confusing period, not knowing sometimes when to be a child and when to be an adult. Along with the physical changes that body experiences, comes its own set of insecurities. “Puberty hits everyone differently” is a famous line, and is very true . some elongates in height some in weight, some faces skin problems while some have clear skin. Some experiences hairfall while for others it grows in a lustrous manner. The matter of dressing becomes important in this period and leads to people feeling inferior as they do not set in the standards of “fair, clear skin, lustrous hair and “good height’ categories” set up by the SOCIETY and hence starts feeling lowly of themselves.

It is also a transition from secondary to senior secondary levels to that of college. Which in turn includes more exposure to electronic devices, meeting new people , SOCIETY expecting you to behave “maturely” without actually clarifying what “maturity ” means. People move, shift places to pursue further education meet new people, come out of the protective circle of the family.

all these changes affects the mental as well as emotional development of an individual . The ones good in study lack behind because the generation gap portrays parents more as villians and friends as well wishers. In some cases, these “well wishers” turns out to be actual villians, and to keep up with the company and portray themselves as “cool” and not “old fashioned” along with the lack of maturity that is the difference between right and wrong leads people to take some wrong step whether, it be a career decision, getting addicted to something, getting in wrong relationships. It is okay to commit mistakes but what is important is to learn from them. As the time passes, the past seems distant but the baggage continues. The various changes lead to stress which in turn causes delaying food habits, getting more addicted to somethings like social media which leads to low productivity.

“I FEEL LOW TODAY” is the case with most of us. The actual reason we never know. It can be any one of the above mentioned or something else also. Here are a few tips which will help you to come out of the low phase by yourself because if you succumbed to this phase then you will loose some of the most precious years which included young hearts full of energy and passion

  1. WAKE UP EARLY– One of the major happenings in the low phase is not being able to sleep at night. No matter how late you sleep torture yourself with blazing alarms or asking your family to pour water on you to wake you up but do wake up. Go outside see the sun. It doesnt matter if you dont excercise or jog, just simple rounds while seeing the sun illuminating the sky with its glorious rays, birds flying in groups, calm atmosphere of mornings will give you HOPE that this is a new day , a new beginning. 5. MEDIATE- Only for five minutes but do it. it will calm your racing mind.

Creativity

Creativity has no exact definition, and there can’t be any because creativity differs as per the perspective of each and every individual.

Creativity is a free spirit that lives within each of us since the day we are born, the only difference is that every one practices Creativity in a different manner and it’s not about the traditional Creativity which is mostly associated with a painter, artist or cartoonist but, every one. It is not about drawing shapes or abstract art, but anything.

It is always said that a child lives in every person and as we grow up and become adults that child get lost somewhere in the busy life and adulthood, same goes with creativity with time some of us just forget how brilliant they are at being creative in their work , creativity keeps us alive and most importantly it challenges our mind to bring up new ideas. A person who is good at convincing people is a type of creativity, as it requires planning and study of facts in order to be successful at this similarly, a sand artist how did he became a sand artist ? He choose the element sand to showcase his creativity, identifying your style, idea and inspiration can help you claim your creativity. It is possible to look beyond the normal horizon which is also called imagination and today each one of us is aware about the power of imagination.

Thus, the above example shows how creativity can be practiced professionally and non professionally. It is present at every place well the place where we live which is a planet, planet earth is another example of creativity. Universe was not formed in a day or two it took million of years to make things the way they look today but, for once this is creativity it is called creativity of God the formation of solar system, the planets, birth of first human, land , water and everything.

The people who are close to art and craft are often attracted by creativity, they have a 6th sense that can identify the difference quickly that a normal busy man can’t basically creative difference.

Creativity and challenge go side by side. Creativity is challenging like the works today is dynamic and things keep on changing and in this process of change our work is adapting to the changes and be progressive with the work
So, creativity is in high demand. Apart from being intelligent, humble, punctual, creativity is also considered in top priority. A creative person can come up new ideas and strategy, it’s just like writing in lesser number of words but the meaning is deep. Here creativity can solve the purpose.

How to Learn Video Editing

video editing

Editing is a key skill in video production that can make or break the overall quality of a video. However, editing is a relatively simple process to understand. Once you have learned the basics you’ll be able to use your new skills to significantly raise the quality of your videos. Most of all, experimentation is key to becoming a great editor, so don’t be afraid to take the road less travelled.

THE METHODS FOR LEARNING:

  1. Learning Basic Editing Techniques
  2. Acquiring Advanced Editing Techniques
  3. Choosing Ideal Software

1 Film footage to gather some practice material. Film anything and everything, as long as there’s lots of it. Don’t worry about trying to tell a story, just film your surroundings, the local park, your street, your room, or even your pet.

Most modern phones are able to shoot HD footage that is perfect for practicing your editing skills.

If you don’t have a camera handy, or just want to get started on editing, you can download video clips online to practice on.

2 Import the footage into your software. Usually editing software will have what’s called a ‘bin’, a specific place in the program to store all your raw footage.[1] This will look like a list of folders or a large blank space on the left side of the main editing screen.

If you can’t find an import button some software will allow you to drag in the file from your computer into the software.

3 Add clips to the timeline. After you have imported footage into the bins, start dragging them onto the ‘timeline’. The timeline appears as a long horizontal bar that takes up the bottom half of the editing screen.

The timeline is where the majority of the work will be done. Here, you can order, rearrange, and manipulate the footage in a variety of ways

4 Rearrange the clips on the timeline. Although the footage shot may be random, try rearranging the clips into different orders to tell different stories. To do so, click and drag the long rectangular box (that represents the video clip) back and forth.

The clips you place together can affect each other. The viewer of a video will always be thinking about the following clip in the context of the previous one.[3] When you’re watching a movie, TV show or video clip, the cut can become completely invisible if performed correctly.

5 Trim the video clips to change the pace of the video. The name of the tool varies from program to program, but generally it’s called the ‘Trim’ tool. You use this tool to trim the front or back of a clip to make it shorter or to extend it outwards. Click the very edge of a video clip in the timeline and drag it inwards and outwards. This will ‘trim’ the clip.

6 Implement transitions to make cuts more appealing. Depending on the tone of the video being made, a pre-made transition from one clip to another can give the video a breath of fresh air. Navigate to the ‘Transitions’ tab located in most editing software and drag a transition you like to the cut between two video clips.

Although transitions are fun, always be thinking about who you’re making the video for. Too many exaggerated transitions can detract from the quality of a video.

7 Export the video from the editing software to save your edits. Once you’ve finished trimming, rearranging and importing all the footage you like, it’s now time to export the video. The software collects all the edits you made of the clips and ‘encodes’ them into a friendly format.

Sometimes exporting can be intimidating due to the sheer amount of options available to you in the software. If in doubt, always export at 24 frames per second (fps) and at 1080p. This means that you’ll be able to play the final video in the media player of your choice. The quality will usually look better after the video is exported.

If you want to learn video editing then first you should understand very basics of video editing.

Then I think you should first start it with Windows movie Maker and after that goes to some other softwares. I’ll suggesting you some best softwares for video editing :β€”

  1. Adobe premiere pro
  2. Corel video studio
  3. Light worksFinal cut pro
  4. Sony Vegas movie studio
  5. Cinelerra
  6. Pinnacle studios
  7. iMovie
  8. Pitvi

These are the some software you must try to become a good video editor but as I said you should start with learning basics of video editing.

Some you tube channel where you can lean video editing are :β€”

  1. Surfaced Studios
  2. Rocketstock
  3. kaptainkristian
  4. Peter McKinnon
  5. PremiumBeat

Buddies I am not a professional editor and not also connected to this video editing feild too much. But I provided you information as best of my knowledge.Β

Feminism in India

Ideally, what should be said to every child, repeatedly, throughout his or her school life is something like this: ‘You are in the process of being indoctrinated. We have not yet evolved a system of education that is not a system of indoctrination. We are sorry, but it is the best we can do. What you are being taught here is an amalgam of current prejudice and the choices of this particular culture. The slightest look at history will show how impermanent these must be. You are being taught by people who have been able to accommodate themselves to a regime of thought laid down by their predecessors. It is a self-perpetuating system. Those of you who are more robust and individual than others will be encouraged to leave and find ways of educating yourself β€” educating your own judgements. Those that stay must remember, always, and all the time, that they are being moulded and patterned to fit into the narrow and particular needs of this particular society.

Doris Lessing, The Golden Notebook

Feminism in India is a set of movements aimed at defining, establishing, and defending equal political, economic, and social rights and opportunities for women in India. It is the pursuit of women’s rights within the society of India. Like their feminist counterparts all over the world, feminists in India seek gender equality: the right to work for equal wages, the right to equal access to health and education, and equal political rights.Indian feminists also have fought against culture-specific issues within India’s patriarchal society, such as inheritance laws.

The history of feminism in India can be divided into three phases: the first phase, beginning in the mid-19th century, initiated when reformists began to speak in favor of women rights by making reforms in education, customs involving women; the second phase, from 1915 to Indian independence, when Gandhi incorporated women’s movements into the Quit India movement and independent women’s organisations began to emerge; and finally, the third phase, post-independence, which has focused on fair treatment of women at home after marriage, in the work force, and right to political parity.

Despite the progress made by Indian feminist movements, women living in modern India still face many issues of discrimination. India’s patriarchal culture has made the process of gaining land-ownership rights and access to education challenging. In the past two decades, there has also emerged a trend of sex-selective abortion. To Indian feminists, these are seen as injustices worth struggling against and feminism is often misunderstood by Indians as female domination rather than equality.

As in the West, there has been some criticism of feminist movements in India. They have especially been criticized for focusing too much on privileged women, and neglecting the needs and representation of poorer or lower caste women. This has led to the creation of caste-specific feminist organizations and movements

According to Maitrayee Chaudhuri, unlike the Western feminist movement, India’s movement was initiated by men, and later joined by women. But feminism as an initiative by women started independently a little later in Maharashtra by pioneering advocates of women’s rights and education: Savitribai Phule, who started the first school for girls in India (1848); Tarabai Shinde, who wrote India’s first feminist text Stri Purush Tulana (A Comparison Between Women and Men) in 1882; and Pandita Ramabai, who criticized patriarchy and caste-system in Hinduism, married outside her caste and converted to Christianity (1880s). The efforts of Bengali reformers included abolishing sati, which was a widow’s death by burning on her husband’s funeral pyre, abolishing the custom of child marriage, abolishing the disfiguring of widows, introducing the marriage of upper caste Hindu widows, promoting women’s education, obtaining legal rights for women to own property, and requiring the law to acknowledge women’s status by granting them basic rights in matters such as adoption.

The 19th century was the period that saw a majority of women’s issues which came under the spotlight and reforms began to be made. Much of the early reforms for Indian women were conducted by men. However, by the late 19th century they were joined in their efforts by their wives, sisters, daughters, protegees and other individuals directly affected by campaigns such as those carried out for women’s education. By the late 20th century, women gained greater autonomy through the formation of independent women’s own organisations. By the late thirties and forties a new narrative began to be constructed regarding “women’s activism”. This was newly researched and expanded with the vision to create ‘logical’ and organic links between feminism and Marxism, as well as with anti-communalism and anti-casteism, etc. The Constitution of India did guarantee ‘equality between the sexes,’ which created a relative lull in women’s movements until the 1970s.

Global Warming

WorldwideΒ WarmingΒ could be aΒ termΒ nearlyΒ everybodyΒ isΒ recognizableΒ with. But, its meaning is still not clear to most of us. So, Global warmingΒ alludesΒ to theΒ continuousΒ riseΒ within theΒ by and largeΒ temperature of theΒ airΒ of theΒ Soil. There areΒ differentΒ exercisesΒ takingΒ putΒ which have beenΒ expandingΒ the temperatureΒ slowly.Β WorldwideΒ warming isΒ softeningΒ our iceΒ ice sheetsΒ quickly.Β UsuallyΒ greatlyΒ harmful to the earth as well asΒ people. It isΒ veryΒ challenging to controlΒ worldwideΒ warming;Β in any case, itΒ isn’tΒ unmanageable.Β The primaryΒ step inΒ fathomingΒ anyΒ issueΒ isΒ distinguishingΒ the cause of theΒ issue.Β Hence, weΒ ought toΒ to begin withΒ get itΒ the causes ofΒ worldwideΒ warming that willΒ offer assistanceΒ usΒ continueΒ advanceΒ inΒ tacklingΒ it. In thisΒ paperΒ onΒ WorldwideΒ Warming,Β we are goingΒ see the causes andΒ arrangementsΒ ofΒ WorldwideΒ Warming.

WorldwideΒ warming hasΒ gotten to beΒ a graveΒ issueΒ which needsΒ unifiedΒ consideration. ItΒ isn’tΒ happeningΒ sinceΒ of a single cause butΒ a fewΒ causes. These causes are bothΒ normalΒ as well asΒ artificial. TheΒ commonΒ causesΒ incorporateΒ theΒ dischargeΒ ofΒ nurseriesΒ gassesΒ which are not able toΒ eludeΒ fromΒ soil, causing the temperature to increase. Further, volcanicΒ ejectionsΒ areΒ moreoverΒ dependableΒ for global warming.Β That’sΒ to say, theseΒ ejectionsΒ dischargeΒ tons of carbon dioxide which contributes toΒ worldwideΒ warming.Β So also, methaneΒ is additionallyΒ oneΒ enormousΒ issueΒ capableΒ forΒ worldwideΒ warming.

Around the worldΒ warming has gotten to be a grave issue which needsΒ bound togetherΒ thought. It isn’t happening since of a single cause butΒ a couple ofΒ causes. These causes are bothΒ ordinaryΒ as well asΒ manufactured. The common causesΒ consolidateΒ theΒ releaseΒ of nurseries gasses which are not able to elude from soil, causing the temperatureΒ to extend.Β Advance, volcanicΒ launchesΒ areΒ in additionΒ reliableΒ forΒ worldwideΒ warming. That’s to say, theseΒ dischargesΒ releaseΒ tons of carbon dioxide which contributes toΒ around the worldΒ warming. SoΒ moreover, methaneΒ in additionΒ oneΒ giganticΒ issueΒ competentΒ forΒ around the worldΒ warming.

AsΒ expressedΒ prior, itΒ may well beΒ challenging but itΒ isn’tΒ completelyΒ incomprehensible.Β WorldwideΒ warming can beΒ ceasedΒ when combined efforts are put in. For that,Β peopleΒ and governments, bothΒ need toΒ take steps towardsΒ accomplishingΒ it. We mustΒ startΒ with theΒ diminishmentΒ ofΒ nurseryΒ gas. Furthermore, theyΒ have to beΒ screenΒ theΒ utilizationΒ of gasoline. Switch to aΒ half breedΒ car andΒ diminishΒ theΒ dischargeΒ of carbon dioxide.Β Additionally, citizens canΒ selectΒ openΒ transport or carpool together.Β Along these lines,Β reusingΒ mustΒ moreoverΒ beΒ energized.

ForΒ occurrence,Β once youΒ go shopping, carry your own cloth bag. Another stepΒ you’ll be ableΒ take is toΒ constrainΒ theΒ utilizeΒ ofΒ powerΒ which is ableΒ anticipateΒ theΒ dischargeΒ of carbon dioxide. On the government’sΒ portion, they mustΒ controlΒ mechanicalΒ squanderΒ andΒ boycottΒ them fromΒ emanatingΒ destructiveΒ gassesΒ within theΒ discuss. Deforestation must beΒ ceasedΒ instantlyΒ and planting of trees must beΒ energized.

InΒ brief, all of us must realize theΒ realityΒ that ourΒ soilΒ isn’tΒ well. ItΒ has toΒ treatment andΒ able toΒ offer assistanceΒ itΒ mend. TheΒ showΒ eraΒ must take up theΒ obligationΒ ofΒ ceasingΒ worldwideΒ warming inΒ arrangeΒ toΒ anticipateΒ theΒ enduringΒ of futureΒ eras.Β In this manner,Β eachΒ smallΒ step, no matter howΒ littleΒ carries aΒ partΒ of weight and isΒ veryΒ criticalΒ inΒ haltingΒ worldwideΒ warming.

“A woman with a voice is by definition a strong woman. But the search to find that voice can be remarkably difficult

Annie Besant(1 October 1847 – 20 September 1933) was a British socialist, theosophist, women’s rights activist, writer, orator, educationist, and philanthropist. Regarded as a champion of human freedom, she was an ardent supporter of both Irish and Indian self-rule.She was a prolific author with over three hundred books and pamphlets to her credit.Β As an educationist, her contributions included being one of the founders of theΒ BANARAS HINDU UNIVERSITY.

She also became involved in politics in India, joining theΒ Indian National Congress. WhenΒ World War IΒ broke out in 1914, she helped launch theΒ Home Rule LeagueΒ to campaign for democracy in India, and dominion status within the British Empire. This led to her election as president of the Indian National Congress, in late 1917. In the late 1920s, Besant travelled to the United States with her protΓ©gΓ© and adopted sonΒ Jiddu Krishnamurti, who she claimed was the new Messiah and incarnation of Buddha. Krishnamurti rejected these claims in 1929.After the war, she continued to campaign for Indian independence and for the causes of theosophy, until her death in 1933.

HOME RULE MOVEMENT :

As early as 1902 Besant had written that “India is not ruled for the prospering of the people, but rather for the profit of her conquerors, and her sons are being treated as a conquered race.”. She encouraged Indian national consciousness, attackedΒ casteΒ and child marriage, and worked effectively for Indian education.Along with her theosophical activities, Besant continued to actively participate in political matters. She had joined theΒ Indian National Congress. As the name suggested, this was originally a debating body, which met each year to consider resolutions on political issues. Mostly it demanded more of a say for middle-class Indians inΒ British Indian government. It had not yet developed into a permanent mass movement with local organisation. About this time her co-worker Leadbeater moved to Sydney.

In 1914Β World War IΒ broke out, and Britain asked for the support of its Empire in the fight against Germany. Echoing an Irish nationalist slogan, Besant declared, “England’s need is India’s opportunity”. As editor of theΒ New IndiaΒ newspaper, she attacked theΒ colonial governmentΒ of India and called for clear and decisive moves towards self-rule. As with Ireland, the government refused to discuss any changes while the war lasted.

EARLY LIFE :

Annie WoodΒ was born in 1847 inΒ LondonΒ into an upper-middle-class family. She was the daughter of William Burton Persse Wood (1816–1852) and Emily Roche Morris (died 1874). The Woods originated fromΒ DevonΒ and her great-uncle was the Whig politicianΒ Sir Matthew Wood, 1st BaronetΒ from whom derives theΒ Page Wood baronets. Her father was anΒ EnglishmanΒ who lived inΒ DublinΒ and attained a medical degree, having attendedΒ Trinity College Dublin. Her mother was anΒ Irish Catholic, from a family of more modest means. Besant would go on to make much of her Irish ancestry and supported the cause of IrishΒ self-ruleΒ throughout her adult life. Her cousinΒ Kitty O’SheaΒ (born Katharine Wood) was noted for having an affair withΒ Charles Stewart Parnell, leading to his downfall. Her father died when she was five years old, leaving the family almost penniless. Her mother supported the family by running a boarding house for boys atΒ Harrow School. However, she was unable to support Annie and persuaded her friend Ellen Marryat to care for her. Marryat made sure that she had a good education. Annie was given a strong sense of duty to society and an equally strong sense of what independent women could achieve.Β As a young woman, she was also able to travel widely in Europe. There she acquired a taste forΒ Roman CatholicΒ colour and ceremony that never left her.

Reformer and secularist :

She fought for the causes she thought were right, starting withΒ freedom of thought, women’s rights,Β secularism,Β birth control,Β Fabian socialismΒ andΒ workers’ rights. She was a leading member of theΒ National Secular SocietyΒ alongsideΒ Charles BradlaughΒ and theΒ South Place Ethical Society.

Later years and death :

Besant tried as a person, theosophist, and president of the Theosophical Society, to accommodate Krishnamurti’s views into her life, without success; she vowed to personally follow him in his new direction although she apparently had trouble understanding both his motives and his new message. The two remained friends until the end of her life.

In 1931 she became ill in India.

Besant died on 20 September 1933, at age 85, in Adyar, Madras Presidency, British India. Her body was cremated.

She was survived by her daughter, Mabel. After her death, colleagues Jiddu KrishnamurtiAldous Huxley, Guido Ferrando, and Rosalind Rajagopal, built the Happy Valley School in California, now renamed the Besant Hill School of Happy Valley in her honour
