How to Discuss Your Reasons for Leaving a Job in Interview?

“I had a job insurance at an insurance company once, and the lady said, ‘Where do you see yourself in five years?’ I said, ‘Celebrating the fifth year anniversary of you asking me this question.”

  • Mitch Hedberg

When we say ‘a job’, do we only refer to a task that procures income? If you harbour such a myopic perspective, then it would be difficult for you to ace that interview which almost every individual fears. Sitting on that chair, surrounded by one or more interviewers and then confidently framing creative answers to their easy questions which seem difficult due to our nervousness seems so perilous! The thought of not being selected leaves us confused, nervous, and petrified which is why we cock things up and our tongues start shaking! However, what if I tell you that a job is actually an experience to make you smarter, bolder, and strategic with regards to business which should help you have your very own business in the future? What if instead of fearing the loss of one job, you accept the ideology that there are many fish in the sea and there would be other recruiters who would definitely discern your talent, if not the current ones? Don’t shy away. Show your true self to the interviewers. Be honest and confident. Speak what comes to your mind without worrying about vocabulary! Job interviews see ones capability of handling complex situations creatively which is why, they may whack your nerve and create an intimidating atmosphere. But it is you and your hope in the end that everything happens for good! Perhaps you aren’t hired here because some greater opportunity is awaiting you- this method of thinking will automatically create a confident interviewee and your fear or nervousness would die down. Gradually, those interviewers would seem like friends to you and your tone would embrace honesty! However, there can be a negative part to this thought. Just because you know that other good jobs await you doesn’t mean you would completely lose interest in the current interview and recruiters. This thought is only meant to calm an individual down and encourage him to perform his very best without worrying rejection!

So, what exactly is a job? It is the way you handle people. It is an experience of working amazingly under pressure because mostly, people tend to screw themselves under strict deadlines which isn’t the accurate method of having your own business either. You don’t want your customers to wait for a long long time just because working under pressure isn’t your thing! Thus, a job is not a duty that provides income but an experience that helps one become independent. Yes, urgent need for income may be the reason for that former definition of a job but instead of working for money, one must work for work to get efficient results that bear fruit. Money is a sidelined concept that would keep pouring in with the fantabulous consequences of your efforts!

Reason 1

Now that you are working in that company of your choice after practically nailing the interview with the above given thoughts and creative actions, you suddenly receive a new opportunity that sits incredibly with your qualifications and area of interest. It is the spot where you wouldn’t just work for money. However, doing two jobs simultaneously wouldn’t be possible due to clash in timings which means you may have to give up on the current one. You decide to submit the resignation here and wonder why you ever felt nervous for job interviews in the first place. Jobs keep changing and so do your preferences. However there is yet another interview, that final rendezvous with your boss to explain him the reason behind your resignation. You can’t bluntly state that this job doesn’t fulfill your expectations and area of interest anymore which means creating a suitable excuse that seems appealing and digesting to the recruiter.

You approach his cabin, formally greet him, and ask for a seat to discuss something important. Of course, you don’t begin directly with that departing statement because you want the situation to be under control. Firstly, you give a brief speech regarding your experience with the company and its colleagues, how much you enjoyed and how well your boss behaved. You thank your boss for his co-operation all along and also, for trusting and hiring you. Slowly but steadily, you ask for resignation. However, you don’t reveal directly but gradually that a new job is already out there awaiting you. So, all you say is:

“Firstly, I would like to thank you for hiring and trusting me with this job. I don’t know whether I have worked as per your expectations or not, but I surely have gained profound experience under your guidance. Not to mention, I am lucky to have such co-operative colleagues too who helped me grow. However, I feel that multiple experiences with several other types of people helps one blossom professionally which is why I have decided to look for another job offer wherein a new experience with new set of people would lay new standards to the usual ones in my life. I feel that doing one job offers a single experience which ends up creating a comfort zone from where one refuses to move out, later on. Thus, I want to splash my feet and hands to keep swimming in the pool of jobs! I hope you understand. Thank you once again for the amazing asset of experience! I bade my heartiest farewell and a sincere apology for this sudden decision.”

Reason 2

However, what if the new job offer you received, not only fulfills your area of interest but also provides a higher salary than the one you currently are in? The reason to leave should be as follows:

‘Thank you for trusting and hiring me sir. I have worked very hard for this company considering it close to my heart. I have also gained immense experience in this field with your support. However, I feel that with time, the difficulty level of work must increase to check on the capability of an individual and to escalate his adeptness in handling complex situations which is why, I have applied for a harder job in the same sector making me bid adieu to this company. I say this with a heavy heart but I really want to thank you for giving me a platform to showcase my talents. Of course, this isn’t a beginner’s job in the absolute sense but I definitely accrued considerable experience with you to work with my dream sector that demands more services and experiences. Thanking you once again along with a heartfelt apology.” (Handing the resignation letter)

Reason 3

What if there are certain personal reasons like your close one’s terminal illness? Here, you can reveal the reason directly since you aren’t disregarding the company with a genuine misery which anybody would understand. Reason could be as follows:

“Hello sir, I would like to thank you for hiring and trusting me with this job. This has always been my dream job and I definitely am enjoying it here. However, due to my mother’s sudden terminal illness I am forced to leave this job since handling the house chores and other responsibilities isn’t quite easy for my dad and aging grandma. If work from home would be possible, then I am eager to continue with this job. Thank you once again for your respect, admiration, and jaw dropping co-operation which really helped me improve.”

Reason 4

What if the travelling expense is huge due to the working distance? Frame a reason as follows:

“Working here has been a fantastic experience. Everyone’s a family here encouraging the other to bloom. I find myself grateful to have worked with this company. However, I helplessly am forced to take the decision of leaving this precious job though I would love to keep working here forever! Due to the working distance, I had been staying at a rented apartment right opposite to this building. But relations with the landlord have unfortunately deteriorated which meant me, evacuating that house. There are no other rental apartments near the office, neither am I ready to live as a paying guest. Thus, I have to return home and the travelling distance daily wouldn’t be affordable. Thus with a heavy heart and a genuine apology, I bade farewell. I remain thankful to you for showering me with loads of precious experiences and memories.”

Reason 5

You were working efficiently in a company until the pandemic arrived and made work from home a priority. You are happy working at home too but someone from your family is inflicted by the virus which is making it difficult for you to concentrate on your work since your loved one and his life matters the most. Thus, you decide to resign because one can’t possibly ask for a month’s leave! Since the use of online medium becomes mandatory now, you don’t directly message your boss on Whatsapp to seem casual. Instead, prefer emailing to do the same. Compose a formal email even if you are on friendly terms with your boss because one can’t ignore that employer-employee relationship which demands a decorum. You give the reason as follows:

“Greetings,

Thank you for hiring and trusting me with the responsibilities of this company. Working can’t be more exciting here. However, a jolting situation is forcing me to give up. One of our family members has been inflicted by the deadly virus thereby creating a chaotic situation at home. Of course, I am mentally disturbed with trauma and aren’t able to concentrate on the tasks provided. I don’t wish to compromise with the efficiency and quality of my work and have thus, arrived at the conclusion of demanding a resignation. I understand it to be a harsh move but my mind just wouldn’t remain stable and the responsibilities at home are being shared by all with the absence of one important member. Acknowledging the current situation, I thus want to bid farewell not without thanking you and providing a genuine apology! Below, you will find attached the resignation letter.

Regards,

XYZ”

Reason 6

There are certain other cases though where the boss doesn’t seem motivating or berates, demeans, and pressurizes you into working more than usual. Thus one fine day, the pressure cooker bursts and you decide to quit once and for all because as stated earlier, you don’t have to face sheer domination when there are plenty of fish in the sea. Work with dignity and respect because employees are assets without whom no company can touch the acme of success. You, as an employee are special and must therefore have the courage to free yourself from such demonic clutches and choose the ones who value you. If you are highly talented then there is no stepping back. You don’t have to adjust with the current working environments because your creative determination would definitely fetch you a new platform. This was just a brief note for all the employees who feel that they wouldn’t find a new job and keep tolerating the worst working conditions. Please believe and value yourself. Don’t surrender your honour to a cruel boss and then blame yourself to have a cruel fate. You design your fate so make sure, you choose the right people in it!

Getting back to what reason you would cite to get rid of such a menacing and mentally abusing job. Of course, this too can’t be revealed directly. You have to strategically plan your way out. Most of the people in such situations use any possible excuse, be it a lie. Of course, it has to be a professional lie so that your evil boss falls for it. But if you choose honesty, then your answer needs to be creative and persuasive. One may frame it as follows:

“Hello sir. I have been working since quite a long time and have enjoyed the job. However, I feel demotivated and am experiencing mental trauma because of which I wish to resign. I don’t want to compromise with the efficiency of my work and infuriate you later. In short, I need a break to gather myself. I need some family love to overcome mental instability. If need be, I might visit a psychiatrist to maintain sanity. Of course, you wouldn’t want a sick employee tarnishing your reputation because of stupid errors coming up in major projects. Before you fire me because of company losses, I choose to back off. Thank you for this opportunity and I apologize for this sudden breakdown.”

In short, make sure you include the company losses he would incur with your illness to convince him into expelling you because the meanest of bosses would never want their company to shatter.

Reason 7

At times, people end up quitting due to colleague discomfort. Some colleagues are jealous and thus, try creating hurdles in your work and at a point, you have had enough of it. You decide to give up and look for a comfortable spot that shares a friendly environment. Also, some colleagues are dominant and force you to work for them or perhaps, you are lonely and not a single colleague has extended the hand of friendship towards you which has really made work an uphill task for you. Good colleagues, happy environment, understanding boss, a motivating bond between the staff, and punctual paychecks are essential aspects that inspire you to work harder. But if a certain company is making you compromise with either of these aspects then it will be best to look for other options! Though you may not get that perfect environment everywhere, look for happy atmosphere with a successful group of friends who actuate and act as role models to help you flourish.

What reason would you cite to leave? Create it as follows:

“Greetings sir. I have always appreciated your versatile manner of handling important projects effectively. You have inspired me to put in not just massive but quality efforts that guarantee fruit. However, I’m afraid I don’t find the same inspiration from my colleagues. I feel that for employees to succeed, a correct set of co-workers is necessary along with an understanding boss because colleagues have the opportunity to learn from each other’s mistakes which can be considered a step towards excellence. Sadly, the atmosphere here doesn’t seem boosting but gloomy because no employee wants to share their views with the other. Friendships are few and far between and the colleagues are almost always like robots burying their heads in laptops. Though the job is quite interesting and has been my deep rooted preference, I am not receiving that amiable nudge to keep going. I don’t receive a few feedbacks from my colleagues neither do they ask for any. This isn’t accurate and would only limit us to single or absolute perspectives hindering our growth. You may say that co-workers don’t matter but they do, with regards to learning something new since every new individual carries some unique perspective which may trigger an amazing idea in the other. In short, sparse interaction between colleagues is making me arrive at the only available option- resignation! Thank you once again for being an amazing boss. I sincerely apologize for this harsh decision but I really need a happy environment to maintain sanity and fetch better results. Please accept my resignation.”

To summarize, the only way to ask for resignations is to emphasize the philosophical aspects as to why you are uncomfortable with that particular environment. Secondly, you highlight the losses that the company would suffer because of your instability and of course, you end on a happy note stating that you enjoyed the work and due to that particular cause are ‘forced’ to take such a step or that you need a ‘break’ so that your boss doesn’t feel offended. You must remember to formally converse with your boss because somewhere in the core of your heart, you’ve got to respect him for hiring you in the first place, even if he is evil. After all, you have definitely been paid and trusted. Taking such points into consideration, you should frame formal speeches.

Also, using business words is essential to sound professional because you aren’t speaking to a friend! For instance, there is a huge difference between the words ‘Resignation’ and ‘Leave’ in business dictionary. ‘Resignation’ means to leave permanently while ‘a Leave’ means to temporarily cease work due to personal reasons. Thus, business English can be complex and isn’t the same as normal English. Thus, when you speak to interviewers for the first time, ensure that you have completed a course in Business English communication skills to sound impressive. As seen in the responses above, I have made use of professional and mature reasons to seem convincing.

If you choose to speak as, “Hi sir. My mom is sick and I have to tend to her. Thus, I am quitting urgently.” This not only makes you sound unprofessional but also, as a liar even though you are genuine. That’s exactly why, the choice of words matters a lot. The way you interact, the serious expression you pull, and the creative philosophical reasons you provide make you look professional and genuine. Thus, one must focus on creating a grand impression on the CEO with words, sounding sweet as honey but camouflaging the harsh reality thereby cooling the situation down.

Quick reference that could help!

Thus, I would conclude stating that resignations need to be extremely formal because you don’t want to upset your boss by directly asking for it. That’s exactly why, you begin with a few consoling words to form a brief speech to engage your boss, then cite the problems you have been encountering, and gradually move towards the resignation part. During such a process, there is a possibility of receiving some solutions from your boss who could help eliminate them and if that’s the case, you wouldn’t want to quit. Be professional, be respectful, think about others, frame a formal speech, and reflect deeply over your choice of words!

Level Up Your Marketing – 6 Reasons!

“Content is the atomic particle of all digital marketing.”

· Rebecca Lieb

Hello, today’s article is special as it answers the need to go for Marketing.

Marketing is the process of moving towards the ocean and getting acquainted with the fishes throughout the journey! Of course, this is just an example of personification and hyperbole for a different definition of Marketing. It implies moving forward into the market area to get acquainted with your competitors throughout the journey so as to keep learning new strategies and agendas of business from them.

There are Two Types of Marketing. The First and the most common form of it which was perhaps prevalent before the digitalized era is, In Person Marketing wherein you speak to consumers in person, to sell your commodity. However, this form exists even today and can be traced as the birth of marketing. Owners with concrete structures like shops indulge into this type of marketing wherein they try convincing each and every customer in order to give them a call to action. So, Marketing basically is, appeasing the customer in a standard format.

The Second Type, as we all know today is Digital or Online Marketing. Online marketing is the most widely used today. Even shopkeepers indulge in this method as they advertise the facilities and products provided by them on the internet to attract consumers. Fortunately, today the entire world is on a single social media platform which makes us so close to people that connecting across the globe is no longer a concern.

However, why should you market your facilities, goods, and services?

· For Increased Recognition!

When you market your services out there in the society, your brand, company, or shop receives recognition and interest which eventually attracts more and more consumers towards your business.

· To Make Sales!

Of course, this is intertwined with the first reason because when you receive recognition, and when your business blooms on social media, you are likely to avail benefits in the form of sales. It’s just that the correct form of marketing is required to appeal to customers.

· An Opportunity To Learn From Other Sources!

By this I mean, you get a wider opportunity to sneak into your competitor’s social media profile without the fear of being caught and maybe learn some of the interesting ways of marketing. Don’t worry! You aren’t stealing their marketing strategies because marketing as a general concept doesn’t accentuate plagiarism since most of the strategies are practiced by all. That’s the beauty of online marketing!

· An Opportunity To Learn The Desires Of The Mob Easily!

The best way of Marketing is to learn more about the problems your customers face and to understand their desires. Through Online Marketing, it gets easier to read the reviews of people on a certain business platform and acquire knowledge on the same. You could directly message people and speak to them regarding their problems or create surveys and distribute them to your contacts to learn more about them. This is because, Marketing requires a good understanding of your target audience as to what issues they face and what solutions do they expect to them. Isn’t Online Marketing amazing?

· Availability Of The Creation Of Various Blogging Sites And Other Websites For Developing Free Content!

This is the “luring” section of Marketing which decides the future of your business. This is true marketing through your content. By creating free content, be it in any form: educational, entertaining or testimonials, you try to transform the suspicious buyers into interested customers by providing them the call to action. This is the actual step of Digital Marketing. Just like you welcome guests at home not without your house address, similarly your website is a station or address of your business as to from where exactly viewers are to learn more about you! This too, is made easy by Digital Marketing which helps create this station for you!

· An Opportunity To Analyze Your Business Performance Easily Through Certain Applications!

There are certain interesting applications like Google Analytics that help you monitor your performance. This application helps you understand the higher amount of purchases from a certain social media platform on the basis of which you could decide the acceleration of the creation of free content on that particular platform.

There are certain other Google Extensions like Keywords Surfer that help you keep track of the highest searches of a particular word which you could use as a business name or maybe for your free content. Another mind boggling application is Google Trends that helps you keep up with the trend in the market since all you’ve got to do is search for a word in the search box and voila! A complete stats on the amount of searches in particular cities appears, on the basis of which you could decide the admittance of a specific word for your free content. After all, more the searches in your city, more the possibility of content based on that word being viewed. Popularity counts, doesn’t it?

Thus, I would conclude stating that Marketing is all about selling your commodity but not before making it known to the consumer. When, it comes to online marketing however, you not only make your product known, but also the company or brand you own, in order to make purchasing a comfortable task for the customers. Another step is involved here because of the invisibility of online marketing because of which people tend to have trust issues over the genuineness of a company or brand. That is exactly why, Marketing online requires more persuasion and evidence of worth!

Does Execution Simply Mean An Initiative?

“Dreams reach their final destination when executed.”

  • Amatullah P.

What exactly is Execution for you? A dictionary nerd would give the perfect definition of it but the ‘Dictionary of Business’ has a completely different meaning altogether. Let’s begin with the standard way and get you imagining!

Till now, we made you analyse the aftermath of building a company but this story will drag you into that internal process of thought!

It’s been a struggling journey all along. You are broke and want some source of income which is quite obvious. That is when your company is born because it has started occupying some space in your thought. Now, you plan towards executing its existence in the society. Of course, you don’t begin with that company motive in head. The first thought is always to go for a job wherein you receive ample experience from which you can learn and set up your own business. Let us consider that you are ready to begin your own company which means that you will now have to execute your motive. Executing here doesn’t simply mean initiating. Execution includes the proper steps you take into getting your company a success! Of course, you are not required to become an overnight news sensation. All you need to do is, just take the correct steps towards your company.

Execution means employing eligible employees for your company, being updated with the current market trends and coming up with suitable services, efficiently marketing your goods and services either through social media or any other network which is in exquisite demand during the given period of time! All the steps that you take which would guarantee success of your company come under the umbrella term Execution in business. Coming up with customer attractions like discounts, giveaways, buy 1 get 1 free offers are examples of perfectly executing your business in the smoothest way possible! You want people to buy your products and these attractions are sure to get the flies in the trap! Of course, the word ‘Trap’ shouldn’t be literally considered here because you don’t want to impose your services on people rather make them opt for those willingly and with love. That’s exactly why, Execution as a concept turns out to be handy!

The example of KFC has been discussed in the earlier article as well. How it started with the sale of chicken and became a widespread branch including more variety in food items which is the way they executed their business to make it run for a long long period of time. They considered the needs of people and came up with convenient offers to keep fuelling the company. Effective planning in short, is what we term as Execution. By this, you are not expected to lay down a prospectus with phenomenal ideas, all clashing into one another, making it difficult for you to decide! You are not expected to stretch a wide sheet of paper and jot down ideas from different sources. It’s because experience teaches you all but if you are a perfectionist then you are free to do so. There is no obligation in the negation! 😂

By now, you must have understood the key to effective functioning of a company which lies in the way you run it- Execution. Yes, execution is similar to initiation. Yes, execution is beginning the task but it also carries a deeper meaning wherein the way you begin that task, too is involved.

Is It Necessary To Leave An Impact In Business?

“If you think you’re too small to have an impact, try going to bed with a mosquito.”

Anita Roddick

When we begin a business, we surely do have a target audience in mind be it local business or a huge global company. Let us consider an example of a local business here, like the sale of school wear which would include children as your target audience in the age group 6 to 14. On the basis of this data, you abide by the norms of a particular school which specifies a dress code which you consider during sales.

However, if your business is concerned with random clothes for children, then you have the freedom to analyze the patterns and designs modern children would prefer. You would understand the current market trends with which today’s children flow. In short, you will try to delve into the psychology of young minds through various mediums be it surveying, interviewing some children in person, or market researching that is checking out your competitors and observing the ways they receive traffic!

Why do you do all this? Perhaps the common answer would be to sell your commodities. But before that, an important step is usually missed out- Impact! We do say that by advertising our services people would purchase our goods but the chain includes another element. Advertising – Impact – Purchase!

There are times when even after advertising their services people aren’t satisfied with the results. That is because your services haven’t left that deep an impact on the audience. With impact comes value. Let us consider our own psychology. When do we really appreciate a service and go for it? Is it just because of its attractive advertisement? No. Only when the service seems beneficial and leaves a positive impact on our minds, do we value it and decide to try it out. That is exactly why, every business tries to prove its genuineness in business so as to leave a good impression on the mob out there!

Leaving an impact means getting into the depths of human psychology and the current market needs. Checking reviews of your competitors and coming up with services which they couldn’t, can create a good influence. So, one can say that uniqueness and impact go hand in hand. However, human psychology as an element is added in the chain. Of course, you can create a unique service but what good is it, if it can’t satisfy one’s desires? A point to remember is that, services leave an impact when more desires of people are met. However, later customer satisfaction too matters, that is the way you treat your customers. That would determine the quality of your services which would be the aftermath. Impact however, is significant in compelling people to approach you through your creative banners all over social media! Impact puts your advertisement to action! Its’ a mini but extremely effective call to action!

Some businesses still work but they receive fewer customers who would be interested, which means that partial psychology has been taken into consideration here. One must usually go for a generalized preference on part of people instead of delving into a portion of it, to gain a good surplus! For instance, a shop selling real gemstones may receive partial response while a shop manufacturing rings with gemstones would definitely appeal to the mob because it adds value and utility to the product.

Limitations and restrictions in services that cover a specific area or gender of the society may not receive that good a response. For instance, a Men’s wear shop will fetch limited customers as opposed to a Unisex clothing shop, won’t it? Absence of limitations or restrictions too leaves a positive impact on the audience.

A Shopping Center is a perfect example of diversity in choices because it offers no restrictions! Various shops sell varied items that grab people’s attention which is the reason malls are always crowded!

Thus, Impact and Value get along well together. They are inseparable and besties forever! When we value something, it definitely has impacted us somewhere in our mind which is forcing us to try that particular service or product out! Thus, the responsibility of a business owner is to arouse this attraction towards a particular service or product in the minds of potential customers by following the given chain:

Consider Human Psychology- Introduce The Service- Effective Advertisement- Leave A Positive Impact (which eventually creates Value)- Have A Successful Sale!

How To Be A Customer Pleaser?

“Business is all about putting oneself in the customer’s shoes!”

The Laconic Writer

A New Customer is like an Angel who visits you with Nectar (Money) 😉 However, these Angels lend you their time when they consider the conditions with you and your company as comfortable and trustworthy. In short, these Angels need to be pleased just as we devote our time in prayers pleasing the lord so that he would fetch us some customers. Your prayers are answered because we will be revealing the ways of pleasing your customers and making them approach you. After reading this, you should gain some confidence in effective customer satisfaction services.

Customers approach you through two possible ways: Either they read about your services and felt tempted to try you out or they were told about your impeccable quality of services and thus, this good feedback made them trust you. The former case needs more creativity because in that vast section of content, you want your advertisement to be noticed, either through digital or print medium. Thus, you may have to work on uniqueness to stand out. The way you present your ad matters a lot. Use beautiful and stunning colours in case of print medium while digital medium would demand creativity in the message imparted. The latter case however, includes good customer service and high quality delivery of the same which would incline the customer towards you and force them to generate sweet words regarding your services to others. In the process, you not only get a regular customer but also an appreciating puppet! In short, customer pleasing is all about standing out and being on top of the competition. This is the first stage of customer pleasing before they enter and alight on this journey with you.

Moving to, after they get aboard and select you as their messiah over all other brands. An important point here is, that a business owner mustn’t take regular customers for granted. Just because they visit you almost every time, their importance in your company shouldn’t diminish. Most of the times, people tend to pay more attention to the newly arriving set of customers instead of the regular ones and thus, lose them in the process which isn’t a smart move. Also, since they are your family customers by now, make sure that you treat them with discounts and interesting attractions in an attempt to show that they matter. It is because these regular customers can scatter golden gossiping words that could uphold your company and its services. Regular customers should be your priority because they are responsible in fetching you a fresh set of customers. Attend them first and be extremely courteous to them so that they can, with the power of words, fetch you more regular customers. Of course, making regular customers requires that perfect attitude which should pass right through their hearts.

Interact more with customers so that they don’t feel left out and ignored. However, interact with patience and love so that they don’t get offended with your remarks while leaving with a bad impression which too, with the power of feedbacks, could ruin your business. So, remember to take careful steps in business.

Business is all about being friendly and honey coated! Dip your words in honey and sugar syrup before opening your mouth. Be lenient and patient when it comes to disclosing your services because customers sometimes tend to simply inquire without purchasing. However, a businessman shouldn’t have that myopic perspective of entertaining customers who would make a purchase and ignoring the ones who won’t. As stated earlier, every type of customer is important and shouldn’t be taken for granted because the customer may be testing your patience and estimating the quality of your services through your behavior. At times during such, patience is the key to success.

Introduce attractions like giveaways, buy 1 get 1 free offers, sales, discount coupons, lucky draw competitions, limited period offers etc. to grab attention of your customers. However, remember to set a reasonable rate of your products and services when pricing so as to make it seem appealing. When beginning your business, remember to have economical pricing since you need customers to start with, and after gradually experiencing a hike in the same, slowly but steadily increase the prices at a turtle’s pace. You don’t want to annoy your regular customers with inflation! 50 pounds shouldn’t escalate to 60 pounds in one go! 50 pounds should be increased to 52 pounds in two months and then gradually reach 60 till the end of the year. In fact, that’s what I would do. This is a great strategy to avoid terrified and annoyed customers whom we don’t intend to lose. Nobody wants a downfall after all and the customers too would understand that a hike in prices is obvious by the end of the year! So, be strategic and smart working when it comes to business.

In short, Business is all about honey coated words, excellent customer service, using attractions and benefits to show that customers matter, maintaining good interaction, and possessing the uniqueness to stand out!

Mystery Fiction With Hercule Poirot!

“Mystery creates wonder and wonder is the basis of man’s desire to understand.”

  • Neil Armstrong

Today’s article introduces the wittiest fictional character Hercule Poirot who is a renowned detective in Agatha Christie’s novels.

Those of you who aren’t acquainted with Agatha Christie, she is a popular British author, known far and wide for her Mystery Novels. Agatha Christie makes use of amazing diction and accentuates the interesting British culture through her stories.

Getting back to the main topic, we interviewed M. Poirot, a French Detective who very calmly elaborated on writing Mystery Fiction. So, let us begin!

“Hello, M. Poirot! It’s So Nice To Meet You! We Are Glad To Have You Here With Us Today!”

“Bonjour! Enchante. Pareil Ici. I feel honoured to be here today! Merci for choosing me!”

“Please Don’t Mention It, M. Poirot! We Had Explained The Purpose Of This Interview On Call, That Is To….”

“Explain the Writing Process of Mystery Fiction. That’s right! Je Sais Cela! Shoot away your questions!”

“That’s Great, M. Poirot! So, My First Question For You Is That Does Writing Fascinate You?”

“Oui! It does. Writing as a whole is a fascinating process because it introduces you to an entirely new world of imagination which does or doesn’t exist. I enjoy reading more than watching videos or movies because reading doesn’t unravel the mystery of the characters easily since we are unable to view the facial expressions of the characters. And, I think, Je Pense, facial expressions reveal almost everything about the character and the suspense factor no longer remains. Thus, words are far better than actions! Anyway, Hercule Poirot loves mystery, il fait!

“That’s A Great Perspective! What Do You Think About Mystery Fiction?”

“Are you talking about Writing Mystery Fiction eh?”

“Yes, M. Poirot!”

“As far as Writing Mystery Fiction is concerned, one needs to have immense passion and love for the genre d’abord, because mystery needs correct framing of incidences that too in such a way, so as to not reveal or disrupt the suspense factor at any rate! You must have the talent of making the most unexpected person, the criminal at the end through twists and turns! Mystery Fiction is all about the efficiency of the writer in engaging and gluing the readers to their story! Alors, il faut y travailler!

“Interesting! So How Do You Think Can Mystery Be Written Effectively?”

“Comme je viens de le mentionner, firstly passion can make writing mystery interesting. Secondly, the most unexpected twists should make up the story. Then, one should make sure that the setting used is appropriate for a murder or any other sort of mystery you wish to cover. Also, one must show many suspicious characters throughout the story so as to confuse the readers and conceal the main culprit. The unveiling should be done at the end! Je voudrais suggerer murder mysteries when writing fiction, because they are way too mind boggling. However, writing them requires special talent as I stated above. The other thing is to create a character who would help in de masking the culprit just as I am, Le Sage Hercule Poirot who knows everything! This is what makes mystery difficult because there are many characters here and there are possibilities of getting bemused when writing such genres because of the large number of suspicious forms throughout the story. That is exactly what we call the talent. The talent of working with so many characters without messing up and weaving the story accurately with all the twists and turns expected!”

“That Is So Useful. So, If You Had To Recommend Writing A Genre To The Authors Out There, Which One Would Be Your Choice?

“It depends on whether the writer is a beginner or a professional. I would recommend the fantasy genre to beginners because getting into mystery requires some amount of expertise. The fantasy genre doesn’t demand much of the suspense factor thus, making its inclusion optional. Et Selon Hercule Poirot, Suspense is one of the most difficult compositions.

While professionals have the red carpet to trying all the possible genres. So, Oui this is my recommendation!”

“Thank You So Much M. Poirot For Giving Your Precious Time To This Interview. I Hope We Didn’t Disturb Your Schedule!”

“Non! Not at all! There isn’t any recent murder case up yet! But the Spanish Chest Murder Case has hit the newspapers and grabs my attention! Good old Miss Lemon is working on extracting some more information regarding that! My schedule is crystal clear now, so Ne T’inquiete Pas Cher, nothing is disturbed.”

“Glad To Know That M. Poirot! So, Would You Like To Give A Concluding Statement?”

“Certainement! I would like to conclude stating that everybody can write. You just need the will to begin and the passion to imagine. Write in a good state of mind and consider the requirements of the readers. Don’t set a time limit or deadline when resolving to write because that sets a limit to your imagination which is an infinite concept and can’t be subjected to a time interval. So, just remain calm and patient when writing. Begin writing and embrace the art!”

Thank You So Much M. Poirot!

How To Describe The Indescribable?

“Describing the indescribable is a work of extreme talent and passion.”

  • Amatullah. P

Salut! Today’s article highlights the ways of describing the indescribable aspects of storytelling.

A writer gains popularity when indescribable facets of a story are described fluently. Of course, this can be done through imagination. This is mainly incorporated in fictional story telling. For instance, in my earlier articles, I have elaborated on the ways of writing fiction which also highlights the creation of ‘alien to the world’ characters. Thus, this is a continuation to that. If you create a bizarre character which is non – existent then you sure will need to provide some description. So, that is how describing the indescribable comes into the picture.

So, let us learn some of the ways of describing the indescribable aspects or characters in storytelling.

Create A Fictional Character That Is Easy For You To Describe Later!

So very important! When you design a peculiar character, you must never forget to keep some description of it in your head through rigorous imagination. Try to jot down some points of description in your notepad in case you are forgetful.

Merge The Description With The Existent Objects!

Try creating a description on the basis of the description or attributes of existent things. You could imagine describing some part of it but also merge it with the description of the describable. For instance, if you have framed a story as your visit to mars and your encounter with aliens there, then you are expected to create a good description of that alien. You could assign it humanlike characteristics (describable entities) and merge it with your own imaginative description. (That is their names are in the form of numbers. The alien you met was named 224). Thus, here you see, human tendency of name has been assigned to a non – existent entity alien and merged with the imaginative concept of numbered names!

Include The Facial Features, Setting, And Imaginative Background Story Of That Indescribable Character!

This would not only enhance the story but also your levels of imagination thereby improving your reputation as a writer. Try not to excessively attribute qualities of existent aspects to the non -existent ones because that doesn’t prove your creativity. Include it just once or twice as an auxiliary branch to your content. Include it to make your work interesting and not to escape imagination!  All I mean is that one can’t escape from including the existent qualities in the indescribable content, but the thing to remember is that the description of that fictional being remains unpopular even with the existent aspects. For instance, the alien 224 has 3 eyes with no retina whatsoever. The eyes are milky white and look creepy. The gender isn’t specified there because they all look the same. The aliens are red in colour as the planet mars.

Don’t Beat Around The Bush With Your Description!

Be straight to the point when describing the characters. Don’t twist and turn the story to the extreme level. In short, don’t incorporate much drama. I don’t say that one must completely avoid twisting the story but there sure is a limit to that. Arrive at conclusions faster after twisting the story for quite some time in order to not avoid breaking the alacrity of the audience.

Beat Around the Bush: Meaning of a Medieval Term Still Used Today

Thus, I would conclude stating that describing the indescribable is a work of imagination which can’t be ignored. Fiction writing would be enhanced with the inclusion of this aspect. Of course, in reality the indescribable things can’t be explained because of their real nature but writing provides us the privilege of including unreal aspects as well which is assigned goodness in the form of imagination! The goal is to describe these non – existent entities as existential. So, now that you know some points, why not try doing it? Plunge your notebook out and get imagining!

Happy Writing And Thinking! 😉

How Can Fiction Be Written? Featuring Barbie!

“Imagination and Fiction make up more than three quarters of our life.”

  • Simone Weil

Today’s article discusses an essential factor when it comes to writing fiction I.e how to write it? Barbie aka Barbara Milicent Roberts is our chief guest for today’s discussion.

“Hello Barbie! Warm Welcome Aboard. We are so glad to have you here with us.”

“Thank you for inviting me. I’m pleased to be a part of this discussion as well.”

“So, would you like to tell us the ways of writing fiction? (That for which you are here)”

“Definitely! Fiction is an interesting genre when you come to look at it. It also, comes with a wide range of interesting sub – genres which have been discussed in the earlier article. It can be written insensibly by taking almost any entity that you prefer or make one for yourself by amalgamating two or more entities. There are mostly no constraints in fiction and that is why, writing or working upon this genre doesn’t actually seem a hard task. Yes! I agree that imagining certain factors is a hard task, but we mustn’t overlook the fact that almost everything comes with its own set of hard work! Here, however I am not considering contemporary fiction or that which pertains to reality. I shall be emphasizing on how fiction (fantasy and other related genres) can be written.

Now, let us learn how exactly to write fiction through a step by step approach.

Brainstorm Over The Fictitious Topic You Intend To Choose!

Brainstorming is a process that requires time. So, first and foremost, the thing to be done, is to sit down on your favourite couch and ponder over the best fictitious topic that would definitely seem great if sketched on paper. However, don’t forget to get yourself in the reader’s shoes as stated in our earlier articles. Consider what your readers would love and write in accordance to that.

Think Of The Characters You Wish To Involve!

This is a quintessential factor that makes a story interesting. The characters make a story. However, framing of characters also depends on the sub – genre you choose. If you choose contemporary fiction, then you would definitely make use of real life characters. In such cases, you could ignore this second step and only consider the first. This step is for people who wish to work with the fantasy sub – genre because framing fictitious characters requires certain amount of deep thought processes.

In Case Of Writer’s Block, Approach The Outside World!

Certain people experience writer’s block while writing fiction because they seem to fall short of ideas. In such cases, it is advisable to approach the outside world as inspiration to your thought processes. Some incident will definitely inspire you to write about it.

Create Strong Characters!

Make sure that the fictitious characters you create are strong enough so that the readers love them. Like, a certain character should show strong traits in personality and not physical strength 😉 Make the characters take risks throughout the story and later help them succeed. This will also deliver a good message and inspire people to take risks! Thus, all that we mean here is, that try creating characters that would also impart a message to the readers. Also, mostly it is advisable to create Round characters. Round characters are those whose traits or personalities throughout the story aren’t easily decipherable. These characters would arouse the interest factor and enhance your write up.

Create Unique Characters!

By this we mean, that when you choose to create fictitious characters, make sure that you don’t use the same repeated mythological supernatural entities revolving around mermaids, aliens and robots. These are widely known and won’t make your story that interesting. You could always create a new character for yourself by amalgamating existent entities, as stated in the earlier article.

Read Other Fiction Books For Ideas!

This is the basic step that would definitely help you to frame your own story easily. Read more and more fiction books by widely renowned authors for amazing techniques of writing a fiction book easily.

Try Fictionalizing Your Daily Life!

This means, fictionalizing your daily chores and duties in an imaginative and creative way. For instance, you are working in the kitchen and see a ladle, now you could create your own fictitious character named Mr. Ladle who could speak throughout the story. He could also be an antagonist or maybe even a protagonist if you decide to create an animated fictitious story.

Be Alert And Aware Of Your Surroundings For Inspiration!

This is extremely important because developing a fictitious story requires complete imagination. So, you need to be alert when you come across such objects which could make your story interesting. After all, if you aren’t alert then that inspiration wouldn’t be accessible to you and would pass you directly, without you acknowledging it. So, remain alert and vigilant.

“These were such essential points to be noted. We heartily thank you for your precious time! Hoping to have you again to speak on such interesting topics in the near future!”

“Please don’t mention it. I’m touched by this honourable gesture of being a chief guest on such an important discussion. Looking forward to yet another invite in the future for sure!”

Thank You So Much Barbie!

Behind The Scenes!

“We all make mistakes, have struggles, and even regret things in our past. But you are not your mistakes, you are not your struggles and you are here now with the power to shape your day and the future.”

  • Steve Maraboli

Today’s article highlights, ‘Behind the Scenes of Article Writing’. Yes! It is similar to the Behind The Scenes shown during shoots for sitcoms and TV serials.

However, there is a difference. There is no shooting here. I shall be discussing the ‘Off screen tasks’ I perform when framing the articles. So, Lights. Camera. Action! Let’s begin.

Thinking Over The Topic!

Greatest struggle everrrrr! Thinking over a relevant topic for my amazing audience out there is a complex task. There have been times when I just sat at the laptop, staring at the blank word document, wondering what to write and then after realizing that I am out of the ‘mood’ factor, I shut the laptop and decide to work over it maybe later! But still, I manage to come up with some interesting topics for all of my enthusiastic readers who show so much love and appreciation towards my work. Thank you for that! 🙂

Making Word Errors!

Another one of my struggles. While writing the articles, there are many such word errors which I make, while typing with excess speed on the keyboard. I know, I know, the solution is to type with a relaxed pace but I just can’t help it. For me, Writing without speed is like writing without passion.

Working On ‘Perfection’!

Perfection is the key to efficient work. So, that’s exactly my motto. I look forward to adding friendly and interactive connotations in order to make reading an easier task for you!

Thinking Over Framing Of Sentences!

Framing of sentences in an accurate manner is so essential. English is rather a complex language and one needs to be careful in choosing proper set of words that don’t sound impertinent. So, yes! Working over it is a task but that doesn’t actually freak me out!

Sitting Alone In Peace While Writing!

That is so important for me. When writing, I shut the door to my room and just breathe, letting fresh air stroke my mind calmly. Then come the topics which pass my mind like a slideshow and I select the appropriate ones for you!

Thinking Over The Topics And Jotting Them Down For Future Reference!

In that slideshow of thoughts, there occur two or more ‘apposite’ topics which I feel the need to jot down and use them later without forgetting the ‘creativity’ factor in them of course.

Pondering Over The Birth Of Various Fictitious Characters!

Since our company recently incorporated Fiction in the publishing options, I felt the need to make some of the writing medium speak ranging from the inkpot to the laptop! It may sound crazy but that is what makes fiction such an amazing genre. This genre allows you to be crazy and senseless!

Famous Fictional Characters Everyone Knows

These were some of the steps I take, in order to ensure that good content turns out (specifically for the articles). Thank you for tuning in! You are free to contemplate over the message if you want to! 😉

Happy Writing! 🙂

All About Background Stories of Characters With Liney- The Notebook!

“You can, you should, and if you’re brave enough to start, you will. Writing is magic, as much as the water of life as any other creative art. The water is free, so drink. Drink and be filled up.”

  • Stephen King

Today’s article highlights everything regarding the usage of background stories for your bookish characters! When we come up with characters in our story, it becomes essential to give a short or a long background story in order to introduce their lives and make it interesting for us as readers to empathize or criminalize the character in our head. Background stories thus, not only introduce the character, but also can act as an important medium for retaining the suspense factor in the story. Let us learn how and when to incorporate background stories with Liney who will be addressing you!

Hello Folks! I am Liney – A Notebook which is always so very handy when it comes to Writing. I guess my purpose of being here has been already explained to you! So, without wasting any more time, let us begin.

“Background Stories Can Be Incorporated In Two Possible Ways!”

“Firstly, it could be used simply to elaborate on the life of the protagonist or any other character of the story and secondly it can be used to reveal the suspense. For instance, a serial killer’s background story could be revealed at the end, that it was the family torture and tyranny that made him follow the heinous profession. In short, a simple background story is at the beginning which could be short or long depending on the amount of information you wish to reveal about that specific character while a suspenseful background story is at the end to conclude the story effectively.”

“Background Stories At The Beginning Must Be Short.”

“This is essential to maintain the suspense factor. Background stories must be short in the beginning or you could possibly narrate an incomplete background story in the beginning and reveal the remaining matter at the end in order to make the story engaging.”

“There Are Three Types Of Narrating Background Stories!”

“Let us take an example of a character here named Amanda who is the protagonist. First type of narration would involve her own confession at the end may be for the suspenseful story and the second one could involve her boyfriend Dave who narrates it on behalf of her. The third type involves third person narration that is you, as an author narrate it and make the readers acquainted with it thereby breaking the ice!”

“A Background Story Could Be Shown As A Thought Process Of That Particular Individual.”

“Yes! This is an interesting way of revealing a background story. Again let us consider Amanda here. She could be shown in a state of trance and then a vivid description of her background story as to how she imagines it, could be jotted down word to word. This could be better done in the middle or at the end of the story.”

“A Background Story May Or May Not Include Setting!’

“There isn’t any compulsion to incorporate the setting in the background story of the character. Sometimes, authors prefer to do that in the middle of the story. Background stories could be shown as explaining the criminal life of the character, or the torturous family life of the character, or to project the memories of the character which could be haunting or hunky dory. Simple background stories that explain the setting follow an ancient version of writing. People prefer beginning stories abruptly and then in the middle section of the story, is the background and current life of that character revealed.  Also, background stories that include setting are mostly third person narrations made by the author himself. Narrations made by the characters don’t or shouldn’t ever incorporate settings because that makes the content look amateurish and you don’t want your readers to judge you on the basis of that, do you?”

“Addition Of Background Stories For Characters Depends On The Genres!’

“It totally does. You don’t require background stories for characters in a motivational genre book whose main object is to motivate the readers through the characters and not emphasize on the story. Background stories mostly adorn, fictitious stories because of the prime focus on the unfolding of the story and the personality of its characters. Non Fiction too involves background stories but that is as stated earlier, third person narration by the author which is a simple way of acquainting us with the reality since emergence of the suspense factor isn’t mandatory here. Thus, it is all linked with the suspense factor which makes us decide accordingly.”

List of Book Types or Genres

Now, that you know some ways of using background stories for your amazing characters effectively, why not begin writing your book now?

What Is Creativity In Business?

“Your smile is your logo. Your personality is your business card. How you leave others feeling after an experience with you is your trademark.”

Jay Danzie

Salut! Let us first discuss the evolution of a perfect company. It starts with the owner’s hard earned money (through different sources of course 😉 ) singlehandedly. With growth in sales, the owner feels the need to have assistants to help him out which encourages him to hire a few eligible ones. They are so eligible and proficient that the company keeps experiencing surplus which fetches high amount of customers until it becomes a reputed brand to generate regular customers. However, the owner realizes that apart from his regular customers, the new ones weren’t bothering to choose his brand. Then, he shapes his services in a way that distinguished his company from the competitors. What do you think did he do?

He used ‘Creativity’ which is so essential in business if you wish have an edge over the others. He creatively increased the convenience in his services thereby attracting larger audience.

KFC or Kentucky Fried Chicken for instance, originally dealt with the sale of chicken and now surprisingly includes burgers, softies, cold drinks, and other finger licking attractions. Why do you think did they need to evolve? KFC originally was started by Colonel Harland Sanders on a small scale but as his popularity increased, he transformed to a brand which is so high in demand today. Customers make a brand. However, to get a variety of customers apart from the regular chicken friendly ones, they decided to assign variations into their services which includes burgers, soft drinks, softies, mousses and what not!

Creativity in business demands cooking up interesting services from the existing ones. In short, coming up with variety from a single theme! For instance, the above example where an eatery for chicken evolved into multiple scrummylicious items!

Convenient services avail more benefits for customers. That is where creativity comes into the picture. How well can you craft convenience in your services without imitating your competitor? How well can you observe the convenience policy and services of your competitors and frame an entirely unique service which could fetch great surplus? Which services would have a greater demand and how will it be unique from the competition? If you master the above questions by coming up with a suitable answer, then your business is fully secured and benefits are awaiting you!

Why do you need to be unique though when people are more attracted to the common services? People normally think that common services send Express posts to customers thereby inviting them faster than usual but they fail to contemplate over the fact that they aren’t alone in the market and that their competitors are like sharks who won’t let them survive!

That’s exactly why, we yearn for creativity. Everybody wants to go for a unique idea that would have no competitors because attacking or imitating the services of your competitors will only damage relations and may make matters worse! In a fit of rage, your competitors may not allow customers to reach out to you and may act as hitchhikers in the way by showing your customers directions towards their company instead of yours! They may badmouth your services and show your weak side to the mob. The extent of enmity can’t be predicted because nobody likes a “Copy Cat”.

Thus, one can conclude stating that Creativity is all about understanding the changing desires of the mob or the market trends and to subtly begin including a variety in your services or fine tune the existing ones with amazing facilities that offer whole lot of conveniences!

Does Business Require Competition?

“Competition is a good thing; it forces us to do our best.”

  • Nancy Pearcey

Since every aspect in life has two angles, competition too can be considered in the positive as well as the negative sense. Mostly, competition is used in the negative sense which is the reason most of the businesses end on a short note. Thus, we will be learning a positive sense of this word in today’s article.

The term becomes negative when you resolve to imitating the procedures followed by your competition. As discussed in earlier articles, a business needs to stand out for which uniqueness is quintessential. Thus, blindly following the footsteps of your competition isn’t going to help. Also, focussing merely on your competition and their profits isn’t the right move because that diverts your attention from the possible surplus you could generate. In short, avoid opening up an encyclopaedia of services offered by your competition just so as to match their ability because that isn’t possible. All have different capabilities and varied ways of thinking. Perhaps you could do better than the competition and in order to believe yourself, lay aside continuous inspection of the competition. Let us understand this better.

For instance, a company selling electrical appliances and will of course have competition because one can’t possibly come up with a business extremely alien to all, owing to the desires of the mob. Thus, competition persists because we need to consider the needs of the population on this planet and arrange for such services that would benefit. Uniqueness must come in the way we exhibit or present those services.

Getting back to the story, you are receiving good deal traffic but are occupied in considering the competition. You’re trying to get into their good books so as to know more about their ways of introducing and presenting the services. However, while you are busy understanding your competition, you failed to comprehend over the fact that you could understand the psychology of the customers and list their desires thereby coming up with a unique form of exhibition of your services. In short, you lose access to creativity when you are busy imitating which certain businessmen term as ‘taking inspiration’. A point to be noted is, that inspiration means simply learning from the competition and coming up with your own unique form of services while imitation is looking up services provided by the competition that seem to best appeal to the mob and trying out the same! Most businessmen resort to the latter but coin their efforts as former!

Yes, there is a possibility of better inclining towards the latter because we feel that more customers would be attracted to us as well, as they do to the competition. But a point that we miss out on is, that if the customers have already tried that way out, why would they be interested in yet another company offering the same format with no particular speciality or uniqueness in its services? Also, customers remain glued to the same company for ages owing to the trust and genuineness they feel towards that brand which is the reason, they wouldn’t actually be interested in trying out a new brand with the same level of services. Why take the risk and opt for a new brand with same manner of exhibition of services when the old one does the trick? That is when uniqueness comes into the picture because your aim shouldn’t be to snatch the customers of your competition which is a tedious task and may gain no possible results. Instead, your aim should be to gain a new set of enthusiastic customers for yourself. Don’t go for Renaissance in business that is rebirth or revival of your competition. Go for something unique that people would be excited enough to try out owing to the way it functions.

Thus, competition should be taken in a positive sense. Take inspiration from them. Capture some of their bonus points that help them and develop your business with creativity on the basis of that structure. In short, use your competition as stepping stones to success! Also, competition can help you grow vividly because it helps understand updates of market trends which keep changing and are visible in your competition. By closely observing the same, you could flourish your business and step by step, move further than your competition not by imitating them but by personal creativity. The competition would neither blame you for stealing their ideas nor would you feel guilty of being a copy cat! So, be yourself and unique in business to ensure additional bonuses in the future!

Thus, I am quitting urgently.” This not only makes you sound unprofessional but also as a liar even though you are genuine.

Quick Reference that could help

Thus, I would conclude stating that resignations need to be extremely formal because you don’t want to upset your boss by directly asking for it. That’s exactly why, you begin with a few consoling words to form a brief speech to engage your boss, then cite the problems you have been encountering, and gradually move towards the resignation part. During such a process, there is a possibility of receiving some solutions from your boss who could help eliminate them and if that’s the case, you wouldn’t want to quit. Be professional, be respectful, think about others, frame a formal speech, and reflect deeply over your choice of words!

Mr. Paper’s Advice To Writers!

  • Ralph Waldo Emerson

Hello writers! I know you must have smartly deciphered till now that I am a piece of paper speaking to you. Through this article, I wish to convey my emotions. So, let me begin.

I Really Appreciate Each And Every Writer.”

I may not be able to say this to you, but yes, every writer is precious to me. The hard work and special efforts that you put in in order to make your book a success aren’t unnoticed because I am the one who actually notices! 😉

“I Hate It When Writers Waste Paper By Throwing Most Of The Half Empty Sheets In The Trash.”

Some writers tend to create their rooms a mess by writing a short paragraph which maybe later doesn’t seem appropriate to them, which makes them curl the paper into a ball and then bury it into the trash. Please stop killing us!

How I Wish Writers Would Make More Use Of Paper Than Their Laptops!”

Writers today, in this digital era, no longer make use of paper which makes me feel overwhelmingly sad because I feel ignored and left out. Please spend some time with me as well!

“Please Don’t Resort To Dog Earring When Reading Books!”

This is a gentle request to all the readers as well as writers to not practice dog earring because that stretches my body, leaving me in pain. Please use bookmarks for the same!

“Please Don’t Tear A Page Unnecessarily.”

This is my earnest request to all of the humans out there to not tear or lacerate us without any reason. By doing this, you plot our demise unintentionally which is not something you want to do, right?

“Please Don’t Curse Us When You Are Unable To Come Up With Content.”

Some writers tend to curse the page for not receiving relevant ideas. I totally understand that writing can be a stressful task at times but then blaming a blank sheet of paper isn’t fair, right? So, please don’t curse and manhandle us because we didn’t hurt you a pinch!

Lastly, I would like to wish each and every writer by giving them my best regards. We await the time when you would get a sheet out and begin engraving something on us. We may seem inanimate to you, but we aren’t. We can feel the essence of your hard work as you prepare your manuscript and try getting it published. We value and respect you! Writing is a fun task and requires some love while we (papers) love you back! So, wait no more! Publish your book and make the utmost use of us (papers).

Answers To What Does Customer Service Mean To You To Help Nail Your Interview!

“Excellent customer service is the number one job in any company. It is the personality of the company and the reason customers come back. Without customers there is no company.”

  • Connie Elder

An exciting endeavor is to have your own business and company. At first, you start with its services all alone. When you grow gradually, you employ staff to help you out. A company receives its prestige with the amount of staff in it because people usually estimate a company to be ‘big’ because of the amount of people working in it and also because of its quality services that attract a plethora of customers! The amount of people working in it signifies the economic condition of the company which acts as a step towards effective branding! However, this doesn’t imply employing all types of unskilled labor just for showing off your prosperity! Of course, you require skilled individuals to inflate the balloon of prosperity because they would be representing your company. You don’t want a bad impression of your company and its services because of certain amateur employees who would make you lose even your ‘family customers’. When I refer to family customers, I pinpoint towards the regular ones who never fail to pay us a visit and always prefer our brand over the other!

Creating such regular customers requires a great deal of time and patience because you are expected to reach the core of their hearts and win their trust. How will this happen? Surely, by establishing friendly relations with them, solving their queries patiently, providing them the best quality services, interacting with them, being available at all times, and offering to solve their difficulties while using your product or service.

What if I tell you that these qualities could be assigned in a single person who could take this position and help you set things straight? Yes, you guessed it right. The Customer Service is a great initiative to establish and maintain all of the above qualities of your company. The goal of any company is to create convenience for customers. Customer Service is the greatest convenience you could ever offer because the genuineness of your company isn’t under threat and people feel free to interact in a friendly manner conditioned to the personality and skill of your customer service!

If your company isn’t prospering despite having this service then ask yourself and provide a Yes or No answer to the below questions to arrive upon a conclusion!

Is your customer service timely?

Is your customer service friendly?

Is your customer service patient when dealing with consumer problems?

Is your customer service an extrovert with bold orating skills?

Is your customer service having a high pitched and audible conversational tone?

Is your customer service fluent in formal talk and good in vocabulary?

If the answer to all of these is a big Yes, then you are currently on the safe side but if, even one of the questions has No as an answer then expectation of heavy gains from the company must be deflated! A customer service needs to have all of the above qualities to ensure success, reputation, brand, and image of your company in the market!

Let’s consider our own experience. Vodafone would be a good example to go on with.

Imagine that company without a customer service. Would you ever go for their services? Whenever we have network issues or balance issues, we instantly phone the customer service for help and they update us regarding their recent development due to which perhaps the issue has occurred. Now, what if there was no customer service? We lose our internet connectivity suddenly for hours together and have nobody to confront to regarding the same! We feel helpless and impatient without internet because the world can’t survive without it today. We have nobody to ask regarding this and after encountering such issues several times and with no possible interaction, we decide to leave the company and its service once and for all!

So, that’s the beauty of Customer Service. They help maintain good interaction with the consumers which is so very essential when handling a company! Customer Service acts as a mediator or a link between the head (CEO) and consumers. They have the authority to speak on behalf of the head or CEO and transfer calls to the CEO for the consumers, if needed!

That eases some of your burden as a boss, doesn’t it? After all, a boss has several other affairs to look after, like trimming and shaping the services of the company in accordance to the desires of consumers through online surveys for which mailing lists are vital. That too comes with its own hefty steps. Creating a website and providing a follow button while allowing people to jot in their addresses or creating surveys with mailing facility at the end while enquiring regarding the problems of consumers. Since, digital marketing is so great in demand today, one can’t possibly ignore these pivotal steps in the process and compromise with the reputation and smooth functioning of one’s company!

That should explain the Importance of Customer Service as a whole. So, if you are the CEO, work on the services that you offer while your Customer Service responsibly blurts those services out to your consumers while maintaining effective interaction! Unity is strength, isn’t it?

However though some of the answers to what customer service means to you are subtly a part of that long paragraph above, let me provide a brief list of answer samples that could help nail your interview!

  • A service that shows a complete disclaimer of the quality of your brand or business. It’s the major factor in helping customers decide whether or not, you are worth their expenses!
  • Customer Service is like that short trailer which effectively covers the interesting parts of your business in order to bond and attract customers towards checking your business out entirely. Of course, if the trailer is amazing one can naturally assume the movie to ace the theatres!
  • Customer Service is like dropping before the customer, a transparent veil that only allows partial vision with regards to mellow and patient wordings!
  • Customer Service is making people blindly trust your commodities so that no finger be pointed at the quality or making of your products and services! Humans have a myopic vision with respect to shopping which makes them easily trust the value of a commodity if a dozen sweet words are shot at them which is why, customer service comes in handy, making it simpler to generate a surplus.
  • Customer Service can be compared to the clouds wherein fluffy and picturesque words float about the vast sky of your business to make it look genuine and impressive.
  • Customer Service is a term coined for genuine, honest, patient, committed, devoted, and determined approach towards your business and clients. In short, the collection of perfect ethical behavior is a simple way to win your customers’ heart because the quality of your services is solely based on the characteristics and attributes you exhibit.
  • Every one of us loves a wee bit of flattering and advice. Customer service does this job. However, along with a few flattering remarks customers also require help with selecting the most suitable product or service according to their personality and budget. During times as such, customer service comes to the rescue wherein we, as businessmen patiently advise customers to opt for the right commodity on the basis of their need.
  • Customer Service is like accepting a little amount of your favourite creamy cake and offering a whole lot to the customer to create a grand impression in their hearts!
  • Customers are satisfied when you are with your duties. Thus, customer service is understanding that your job is to impress a hell lot of customers through your sweet words no matter how many attempts of profits fail initially!
  • Customers come out of the blue. Customer Service is like military training wherein one has to constantly remain alerted of the next approaching client as well as prepare oneself for the most satisfactory interaction every single time.
  • Considering the word Customer Service closely, one can figure that it actually is a service which means treating every customer equally without any bias or enmity and composing truthful and honest words from which you vow to never back off!

Thus, I would conclude stating that customer service is a highly dignified job wherein each and every customer is given careful attention thereby not disappointing them. The better your service, the more customer satisfaction can be guaranteed, and the better surplus can that particular company experience. Customer service thus, is that quintessential morality that you exhibit in order to win the hearts of your clients who would in turn fetch you potential customers with their precious feedback. Of course, one shouldn’t request customers to recommend their business to others. Why not leave a lasting impression with the quality of your services instead so that good feedbacks automatically drop from their mouths? In short, customer service focusses on the quality aspect, the way you interact and not the amount of words you chose to interact. The perfect marketing skills that you used in an ethical manner and not the incessant blabbering simply praising the product. Why not from now on, focus more on the quality aspect of our services rather than trying to thrust our commodities at a rapid pace without even trying to fine tune our services to emanate customer satisfaction? So, let us work with love and show the same to our customers so that they definitely feel the need to revert.

Happy Business-ing!
