Is perfection for real ?

“Perfection is shallow, unreal and fattaly uninteresting” – Anne Lamott

Perfection is not attained in a day, actually perfection is myth even the most perfect person is not satisfised with his perfection and it cannot be fully 100% but, close to that.

It is said that many people live a life of perfection. Which is not true actually like these days social media is the greatest influencer specially for the young generation. They are more aware about the social media trends then themselves, and what we see on social media is mostly the reality getting whitewashed in the name of perfection. Thus, do not rely totally on what you see or hear everything is not true. If we are talking about trends and attaining perfection then surely we can not forget few incidence where the celebrities have tried showing the reality to the world. It can be in the form of body positivity, art appreciation or being true about what you feel. Thus, perfection is just a myth one should not involve himself or herself so much into the idea of attain perfection instead it is better to improve yourself each day if you want to overcome anything and achieve the desired goals.

Also, practice because it is not possible to draw a straight line without a ruler at the first attempt but, if you practice well to achieve the stability in your hand you can deffinately draw a line and then the whole painting. One of the factor that most of the young people are focused on achieving more in less time or early is quiet common these days but, this can create trouble as in the hurry of gaining everything that too early can cost many other things. Perfection is real only if wanted till certain extend you can multitask, work hard, set goals, and became more aware about your inner self all this is equal to achieving perfection in anything.
Perfection is about eliminating flaws and mistakes , while some people are thinking that if it is possible to be perfect, some are already indulged in the process and some are probably faking perfection. Every one is at different stage. Also, there are professions that demand perfection like a photographer who has to click thousands of pictures and even sometimes wait for years to get that one perfect shot.
So its not like perfection does not exist but, the term has been created to appreciate the efforts of the person. Its just about being the best version of yourself and excel in the areas of your interest at both personal and professional level. It is important to not forget what you really are chasing perfection can be a tough job so it is better to chase excellence and be happy with all that you have and achieved so far in life.

Your Humble Beginnings Matter

Even if your beginnings are humble, the end will be prosperous.

When was the last time you compared yourself to someone and felt utterly dejected about your own self? When was the last time you stopped rushing through tasks and took time to breathe in an air of relief?

For me, comparison is something that I do on a daily basis. Randomly, anytime, anywhere as if performing a sacred ritual meant to calm you. In my case, this ritual only leaves a turmoil behind. And to be honest I can’t help it.

For instance, one time I saw a girl riding a bike and going to work. She was dressed in “office-clothes” while I wasn’t. Looking at her beam confidence I started to compare myself to her and started feeling lower than her in some way. Another time, I heard some of my seniors bad-mouthing someone and I felt how much better I was than them because I wasn’t doing such a thing. But the truth was that I just wasn’t comfortable enough with them to join in the conversation. If it had been a good-friend of mine I bet I would have joined in the “judgy-gossip” right away. But the thing is, I really am clueless about how to do this away.

The regular sayings of “It’s okay”, “It happens. You’ll grow through it” doesn’t seem to take the shape of reality. Everyday goes on with me self-assessing almost every individual that piques my interest and trying to find ways just to put myself below or above them in the hierarchical status called being and life. I don’t think there are any successful ways out for people like me, for whom even trying feels like a hassle because all we’ve gotten back until now is nothing.

So the only thing that I’d like to tell people and to myself is, “Keep your beginnings humble”. What I mean to say is, take your baby steps, and take your sweet time to grow, even though life is short, it’s actually pretty long and no one knows what lies on the other side of life.

When your beginnings are humble, and your view is not clogged with ‘perfectionism’ or victory, you’d be more at ease. You’d move with your own conditions and would therefore care less about the tasks of others. Your humble beginnings will remind you to see things from your perspective and not from the object race-winning one. Your humble beginnings will show you that you don’t have to learn things fast and execute them perfectly as a machine. Some things can be taken slow. (I don’t mean the hobbies)

If you keep your beginnings humble you’ll be able to cut yourself some slack once in a while without any guilt and without the pressure of keeping up with others. You’ll understand that everyone’s pace is different and so is their direction. So whenever you’ll find yourself in a tough spot, you won’t hesitate to take a break.

Your humble beginnings, that doesn’t blow the bomb right out of the cannon, are okay too. It’s okay if your focus is on one thing and a little minor on the rest. These simple and humble beginnings will end up as prosperous and bring happiness for you someday.

Know About The Vinca Cora Red (The Beautiful Periwinkle)

Kingdom:   Plantae

Clade:        Angiosperms

Clade:        Eudicots

Clade:        Asterids

Order:        Gentianales

Family:      Apocynaceae

Flowers are often famous for either their smell or their visuals that catches the heart many. However very little attention is paid to flowers that grow locally and doesn’t belong to the ‘exotic’ category of plants. Vinca minor or as it is locally known, Periwinkle is one such flower plant. It is a perennial, evergreen flower plant that has a quick growth rate and not much of a fragrance. Apart from the pre-dominantly white and pink periwinkle flowers, the Vinca genus also includes other color variations such as blue, maroon-red, faded-pink, purple etc. In this article, the focus will be on the maroon-red flower plant of Vinca Genus known as Vinca Cora.

The periwinkle plant – Catharanthus roseus  also known as rosy periwinkle or Vinca Cora Red, is a lovely small plant that grows outside very well but also finds itself at home in a summer window.

Vinca Cora Red features large, dark red blooms along glossy green foliage. The stunning scarlet flowers of ‘Cora Red’ annual vinca have a white eye that gives the plant an extra dose of personality. Vinca plants are native to North America, Europe, China and India.

Vinca or Periwinkle is a prolific heat and drought tolerant annual, perfect for hot, dry areas. This small upright plant grows to about a maximum height of 14 inches. The leaves of Vinca  are very shiny and long, with a clear almost white center vein.

Periwinkle plants are easy to grow and care for. Provide them a well-drained moist soil, plenty of bright light, warm temperatures 65° F and above and they will do wonderfully out on the patio or deck as potted plants.

Take care not to overwater this plant as it’s easily susceptible to root rot.

Taking care of Vinca

  • Lower Leaves Turing Yellow and Falling Off

When lower foliage turn yellow and fall off, it usually is the sign  of too much water or the plant has been subjected to cold.

Back off the water or if it is cold related, move the plant to a warmer position.

  •  Leaves Droop and Fall

When leaves hang, droop and fall, it normally is a periwinkle plant growing in a pot and has dried out too much. The best solution is to drop the whole pot into a bucket of Luke warm water for at least half an hour.

When the weather is warm, plants may need to be watered daily.

Uses Of Periwinkle Plant

Apart from functioning as a ground cover to areas where grass won’t grow, periwinkle also serve as a source of alkaloids for medicinal use. With a total of 86 alkaloids, the periwinkle plant extract covers a lot of benefits.

One of its products is vinpocetine, a synthetic derivative coming from the vincas alkaloid vincamine. This compound aids short-term memory and serves as an anti-aging agent.

Vincristine and vinblastine can treat various forms of cancer such as leukemia, child cancers, hodgkin disease or hodgkin lymphoma, and other types of lymphoma.

Plot

Lara Jean Covey’s high school sets up a volunteer program; while her boyfriend Peter Kavinsky volunteers with his friends, Lara Jean goes to Belleview Retirement Home instead, where her older sister Margot went.

On her first day there, she meets Stormy, an eccentric old lady who Margot often mentioned and discovers that John Ambrose McClaren is also volunteering at Belleview. They talk about a love letter she had written to him many years ago, and he lets her read the letter as long as she gives it back to him afterward. Lara Jean is unable to stop thinking about their conversation and, in addition, is constantly insecure about her relationship with Peter because she can’t stop comparing herself with her ex-best friend, and Peter’s ex-girlfriend, Gen.

On Valentine’s Day, Lara Jean witnesses her classmates being serenaded by special acapella groups and is told by a friend that Peter had sent a group to serenade Gen every period, back when they were still dating. This enhances her insecurity, though she forgets about this when she meets with Peter later that day. He gives her a silver heart necklace and reads a poem, which she believes is original but turns out to be two verses of an Edgar Allan Poe poem. He later apologizes and tells her he wishes he could write something like that for her, though he means everything in the poem.

While volunteering at Belleview, Lara Jean and John Ambrose grow closer and throw a Star Ball for Belleview after discovering some old decorations; He appears to be developing feelings for her, who hasn’t told him about her relationship with Peter. Instead, they arrange to go to their old middle school hangout spot, a treehouse, to dig up the time capsule they buried years ago with their friends, including Gen, and take turns unpacking it. Gen claims that she didn’t put any in the time capsule, Peter gets jealous of John Ambrose and reveals his relationship with Lara Jean. She and Peter argue but end up making up.

The next day, Lara Jean apologizes to John Ambrose for not telling him about Peter, and then dresses up for Peter’s game. As she is waiting for Peter to come out, Chris shows her a photo of Gen and him. She confronts Peter and realizes that Peter never stopped talking to Gen and, on the ski trip, Peter was planning to get back together with Gen that night. As Peter is in a rush to get to the game, he tells Lara Jean they will have to talk about it later, but she’s too hurt and breaks up with him. She goes to the treehouse later and meets Gen, who reveals that Peter was only comforting her as her parents are separating. She went to Peter because he had undergone the same experience, that Peter is crazy about Lara Jean, and that she shouldn’t doubt him. She also reveals that she had, in fact, put a friendship bracelet identical to Lara Jean’s in the capsule, and was too embarrassed to show it. Lara Jean realizes that it was her and not Peter who always had Gen on her mind, and makes up with Gen.

On the night of the retirees’ ball, Stormy gives Lara Jean a dress and a makeover. She and John Ambrose dance before going outside in the snow. When they kiss, Lara Jean realizes that she truly loves Peter and doesn’t hold feelings for John. She apologizes to him and rushes outside, surprised to find Peter waiting outside for her. He is waiting outside because he remembers she doesn’t like driving in the snow, a fact that she told him on their first date. He says that she can break his heart if she wants, but she says that she loves him instead, and he tells her he loves her back. They kiss and make up, and in an ending voiceover Lara Jean says that she had wanted a fairytale relationship with Peter, but is now satisfied with what she has.

Plan Bee

Plan Bee has won best innovation award by Indian Railways. Plan bee is an initiative taken in action against the increasing case of elephant accident on Railway tracks, below is a detail summary about Plan Bee.

Animal protection is stated as a priority goal to save the endangered species and possibly bring back extinct species through efforts like forest conservation but, this is not the only solution. There are many incidents where these animals are killed. It is not only about the hunters and poacher who are killing the animals and cutting of green area. Hunting and poaching are done intentionally whereas forest are cut in the process of development There are many other reasons, one of which is accidents both road accidents and railway accidents are equally responsible for killing animals.
Roads that are located on the way of jungle or railway track that passes through forest area interrupt the path of animals and while they try to cross the track or road they are killed. As per WPSI (Wild life protection Society of India) 83 leopards lost their life in road and railway accident in the year 2019. Between the year 2016 and 2019 thousands of animals were killed. Animals like- deer, cattle’s, tiger, lion, , leopard, elephants etc are in the list. It is a big issue as far as animal protection is concerned in India.

At latest a prevention measure is taken to protect elephants from railways. This is called Plan Bee, an initiative taken by Government of India to keep the elephants away from railway track.
Plan Bee has already received the best innovation award by Indian railways and is now implemented in the north easter railway frontier. The first installation was done near Guwahatti railway station in assam.
The basic principle followed in making these devices is the use of buzzing sound of bee to keep the elephants away from the railway track. Apart from this other methods like monitoring system, elephant corridors are used to protect elephants specially in the places where the train passes from a forest. The speciality of Plan bee is that the sound can be heard from a distance of 700m. the first system was installed near kamakhya and Azara station near Guwahati.

As per the railway department it has been effective and has saved life of many forest elephants. These devices have been installed in over 55 locations under NFR. The railway minister has also highlighted how the system has turned out to be helpful in protecting animals, the train driver can being formed early if the system detects any elephant crossing the railway lines and he could stop the train within that time.

Apart from, plan Bee and monitoring system speed restrictions are imposed in such area, underpasses are build, elephant corridors are constructed. All these steps can help resolve the problem and reduce the elephant death taking place due to train collision. As the implementing is done successfully the results are also visible, it is just one of the step towards safeguarding animals and protecting their lives. While development is the focus railway tracks will be installed for better connectivity at the same time if proper measures like Plan Bee will be taken it will be fruitful for the railways and for the animals as well.

Rainwater Harvesting

Rainwater harvesting is a technique of collecting and storing rainwater for future use. It is a traditional method of storing rain water in underground tanks, ponds, lakes, check dams and used in future. The main purpose of rain water harvesting is to make the rainwater percolate under the ground so as to recharge ‘ groundwater level’.

Methods of rainwater harvesting

Roof top rainwater harvesting: Roof tops are excellent rain catchers. The rain water that falls on the roof of the houses, apartments, commerical buildings etc. Is collected and stored in the surface tank and can be used for domestic purpose.

Recharge pit: In this method, the rain water is first collected from the roof tops or open spaces and is directed into the percolation pits through pipes for filtration. After filtration the rain water enters the recharge pits or ground wells.

People living in rural areas adopt a variety of water collecting methods to capture and store as rain water. Some of the methods used are 1) Digging of tanks or lakes ( Eris): It is one of the traditional water harvesting system in Tamil Nadu. Eris are constructed in such a way that if the water in one eri overflows, it automatically gets diverted to the eri of the next village, as these Eris are interconnected

Ooranis: These are small ponds to collect rainwater. The wao is used fo various domestic purpose ( drinking, washing and bathing). These ponds cater the nearby villages.

Building a learning culture for Remote employees?

Learning is an important part in the growth of any organization, and building a culture that encourages and empowers this is essential.

Through adaptive learning an organisation can build a learning culture for remote employees. They can be given a set of problems to solve online and make observations on qualitative and quantitative financial parameters such as rating, growth and financial stress.

With the flexibility to take the test multiple times, employees are motivated to acquire relevant skills. Instructors can review, curate, and assign multiple projects for employees to solve and enhance skills.

This solution is approved by the Ministry of Education under NEAT program and was implemented with learners at Indian School of Business.

Moreover, when employees are rewarded for enhancing their skills – with better roles or pay – there is always incentive for these remote workers to keep signing up for more workshops, courses and adaptive learning.

To build a future – ready remote workforce, one needs to go an extra mile to ensure learning in the virtual environment

THREAT TO DEMOCRACY

India is one of the largest democracies in the world. It has one of the longest written Constitutions. It has the largest judiciary and is known for unity in diversity.
Preamble mentions that India is the sovereign, socialist, secular, democratic and republic. It talks about equality, justice and harmony among the people of the nation.
Again India is the largest democracy of the world as here all the leaders and representatives are elected by the people of India and for the people of India through voting. People can elect any eligible representative as their leaders who work for people's welfare.
How nice it feels to hear the above mentioned facts? Doesn't that seem to be a full fledged India where each and every person under the shed of the Constitution would be enjoying their right? But the sad thing is that's not the reality and truth.
From the bird's eye view it seems to be so settled and perfect but deep inside how messy it is, it's hard to mention.
Despite having the right to equality there are many who don't get it. Despite the right to education there are many who aren't allowed to be educated. Despite having the right to speech there are so many whose voice is suppressed still.
There are many rights mentioned in the Constitution. There are many who don't enjoy these rights as the system of society doesn't allow it.
Along with these basic rights, Indian Constitution provides special privilege to backwards classes of the society, and women, but in reality do they gain equal status? No, they don't.
There are still many people who behave inhumane towards people. For them democracy and freedom don't matter. Sometimes parents don't give basic rights to their children. Husbands don't give it to their wife. Father to his daughter. The Constitution and democracy could give basic rights but what about real rights? Not everybody gets this in the Indian society.
Let's say for instance, if anybody faces a fraud or crime or theft there are uncountable laws mentioned in the Constitution against the crime. Various punishments have been mentioned under different laws for the one who commits any crime. But who enforces them? Nobody.
No one files complaints against the crime and criminal. Officers are not ready to accept those FIRs. Luckily, if anyone writes the complaint no action is taken. If an action is taken, the criminal can easily bribe and get a bail.
In India, courts work with the speed of a tortoise. Lakhs of cases are still kept pending in the major courts of district and nation. Everyday, so many people go to the police stations and courts with the hope of getting justice but they never get it as mentioned in the Constitution.
In India, the main reason why girls don't feel comfortable to go out, or work night jobs is because people here make them feel unsafe. Though when one looks from afar, a person might be feeling that there are so many measures and privileges given for the security of a lady, but the thing is it's only mentioned. In reality they are not given.
When a girl is raped, or faces acid attack, she has to fight for her right with the pain for years. Sometimes her parents have to fight for 10 years for their daughter's rights even after her death. Nirbhaya is the best example.
In the judiciary system, the justice giving pattern in India is so pathetic that here people have to struggle.
For getting a signature in a government office one has to cover hundreds of tables.
The baic brick of democracy is electing representatives by the vote of the people. Do they win by honestly contesting the election? Of course not.
Politicians try to influence people for the vote by making false promises. They offer various schemes for the farmers and poor section of the society so that they could get major votes. They purchase votes by offering money. Everyone in politics has two faces. One that is shown publicly, and one that is hidden.
Everyone uses democracy for their own power. The welfare of people isn't their motive.
Corruption in India is at its highest peak which kills the major factor of democracy i.e transparency between the people and the leader. They serve their own ends under the guise of the welfare, justice and development of people. They just need power of position.
No doubt, India provides so much freedom of speech and expression, to travel and live, and adopt every religion as compared to other countries like North Korea, China etc. The ground reality for many is even worse than that. The country is providing freedom but the people of India aren't providing to each other.
Democratic form of government is the best form of government in all existing forms. It's good to hear that we live in one of the largest democracies in the world.
Those in power are abusing democracy. If this continues and no attention is given towards choosing the right leader and government, one day this democracy will turn into a monarchy in India.

The Epic

Introduction:

Impersonal poetry can be divided into two groups dash the narrative and The dramatic.

Epic:

In the first group, The Epic on the heroic poem is the most important. an epic is a long narrative in verse on a great and serious subject related in an elevated style. And nothing else is generally a well-known story and is centered around the heroic or semi-divine figure whose action depends on the fate of a tribe in addition to the human race. The action in an epic is serious and there is a good deal of physical and spiritual conflict. the characters and events or boat ride in detail, elaborate descriptions of places and actions are given, figures of speech are used and usually, an elevator and ornated style are adopted. Aristotle the epic second only to tragedy. It was the norm of great poetry in sixteenth and seventeenth-century England. Dryden wrote, “A hero poem, truly such, is undoubtedly the greatest work which the soul of man is capable to perform.

Two types of epics:

Historically, there have been two types of epics:

  • The primitive epic or The epic of growth
  • The epic of art or the literary epic.

The epic of growth:

The epic of growth is not entirely the work of a single author but is evolved from pre-existing legends, folk poems, and sagas. It is the final product of a long series of accretions and synthesis shaped by the conscious intervention of some great poet. Well-known examples of this type of EPIC are Iliad and Odyssey, the English Beowulf, and the Indian epics The Ramayana and The Mahabharata. All epics of growth deal with the same subject matter – the deed of heroes. These heroes belong to the race and their exploits form the core of mythology. As such the epics of growth contain supernatural and religious elements. The style of such an epic is marked by directness and simplicity. Stylistic devices may be repeater why they are never obscure.

The epic of art:

The epic of art or the literary epic is the product of individual genius. Of this kind, the earliest was Virgil’s ‘Aenid’. It became a model for the later epic poets. In English, the supreme example of a literary epic is Milton’s Paradise Lost. Arnold’s “Sohrab and Rustom” the fragmentary epic “Hyperion” by Keats and Spencer’s “Fairy Queen” also belong to this category stop a literary epic is the result of the poet’s erudition and scholarly research through it shares several of its characteristics with the epic of growth. Most traits of the traditional epic are found in the literary epic also.

Conclusion:

The Epic is an important literary form in English literature. In the earlier period, In the English language mostly authors wrote about Historical novels and Epic novels. They described the huge events, God’s and their stories and incidents. Even now Epic is mostly used to write about mythologies and God deeds and it is popular among the readers. Nowadays, authors are writing many fictional epics also.

Musical instrument

musical instrument is a device created or adapted to make musical sounds . In principle, any object that produces sound can be considered a musical instrument—it is through purpose that the object becomes a musical instrument. A person who plays a musical instrument is known as an instrumentalist. The history of musical instruments dates to the beginnings of human culture. Early musical instruments may have been used for rituals, such as a horn to signal success on the hunt, or a drum in a religious ceremony. Cultures eventually developed composition and performance of melodies for entertainment. Musical instruments evolved in step with changing applications and technologies.

The date and origin of the first device considered a musical instrument is disputed. The oldest object that some scholars refer to as a musical instrument, a simple fults, dates back as far as 67,000 years. Some consensus dates early flutes to about 37,000 years ago. However, most historians believe that determining a specific time of musical instrument invention is impossible, as many early musical instruments were made from animal skins, bone, wood, and other non-durable materials.

Musical instruments developed independently in many populated regions of the world. However, contact among civilizations caused rapid spread and adaptation of most instruments in places far from their origin. By the class, instruments from were in maritime Southeast Asia, and Europeans played instruments originating from North Africa. Development in the Americas occurred at a slower pace, but cultures of North, Central, and South America shared musical instruments.

A musical instrument is a device created or adapted to make musical sounds. In principle, any object that produces sound can be considered a musical instrument—it is through purpose that the object becomes a musical instrument. A person who plays a musical instrument is known as an instrumentalist.

It not only introduced the theory of gravity but defined the principles of modern physics outlined in the Principia is a theory about gravity that helps to explain the movement of the planets and the sun this theory is known today as Newton’s law of universal gravitation. Newton’s laws of motion were three fundamental laws of physics that laid the foundation for classical mechanics Newton invented a wall new type of mathematics which he called”Fluxions”. Today we called Smart Calculus and it is an important type of math used in “Advanced Engineering and Science”. In 1658 Newton invented the reflecting telescope this type of telescope used to reflect light and form an image nearly all of the major telescopes used in Astronomy today are reflecting telescopes.
