India at the Olympics

As we all know Tokyo Olympics 2021 are scheduled from 23rd July to 8th of august, and we have a lot of expectations from our players. Olympic is a international multi -sport event that is scheduled every 4 years. and so far India has won just 28 medals since they first participated in this global event.

India’s first appearance in Olympics was in 1900 Olympics ,when India sent an athlete (Norman Pritchard), but a whole contingent was sent in 1920 Olympics when India’s athletes competed in every sport. since then ,India has been part of every Olympics .the number of athletes increased every year from sending 5 athletes to sending 117 athletes in 2016. India has come a long way.

India’s journey in Olympics

India’s success in Olympics was majorly contributed by hockey . India won 11 medals in hockey. that was the golden period of India in Hockey. from 1928 to 1980 India won 8 gold medals in hockey. In 2000 ,karnam malleswari won bronze medal and became first Indian woman to win medal in Olympics. For gold medal after 1980(hockey), India won their next gold medal in 2008 Beijing Olympics where Abhinav Bindra won gold in men 10- M air rifle event. and Vijender Singh won bronze medal in the same year becoming first Indian boxer to win medal in Olympics.

Than in 2012 Olympics, India won a record 6 medals . wrestler Sushil Kumar won silver medal ,Saina Nehwal won bronze in badminton and Mary Kom became first Indian woman to win medal in boxing.

in 2016 Rio Olympics , India sent a record 117 Members but India just won 2 medals. PV Sindhu won silver medal in badminton and and Sakshi Malik became first Indian woman wrestler to win medal(bronze) in Olympics. that was a disappointing Olympics for our country where we won only 2 medals.

But still the most disappointed thing is that since 1900 India has just managed to win 28 medals that includes 9 gold,7 silver and 12 bronze medals. and there are many other countries who wins 28 or more medals in a single edition of Olympics consistently, Being a nation of 1.3 billion people, we have just managed 28 medals so far on the other hand if we look back to any other country like USA or Britain they are way ahead of us.

USA won 121 medals in 2016 Rio Olympics ,Britain won 67 medals in Olympics .But my point of view in this matter is that only population of a particular country does not depends on number of medals won. There are many other factors which contribute in it.but why our country still lagging behind many countries?

some of the reasons of India still struggling in Olympics are :-

1.infrastructiure of country

2.proper funding of players

3.poor rehab facilities and inexperience coaches

4.caring of athletes not only during Olympics but also in their preparation time.

5. one more reason i want to write here is cricket. Our country is a cricket loving nation every 2nd child in this country want to be a cricketer. but cricket is not introduced in Olympics so far. I am also a cricket fan, I love cricket. but the problems of us is that we hardly look beyond cricket. like England and Australia are also very good cricketing nations but they have also excelled in other sports. we should also play and concentrate in other sports to win more medals in Olympics.

England vs India 2nd test match preview

England and India will be locking horns on Thursday in 2nd test match of the series in an iconic venue of lords. Both teams are coming here after a disappointing draw in Nottingham, but the good news is that weather is expected to be clear during the next 5 days of the test match but you never know and cannot exactly predict the weather of England.it should be a fascinating test match between two quality teams.

Both , India and England are having some injury issues before going to the test match. Stuart Broad is already out from an injury and he is even ruled out for the entire test series against India. while in Indian team , shardul thakur may also miss the second test due to an injury.

First test match of the series was a very good test match although India dominated the major part of it. Jasprit Bumrah was back in the form with an impressive figures of 9 – 110 .For England , their captain joe root was a big positive , Root made runs in both innings including a wonderful hundred in second test match with the help of which England made a comeback in the test match, interesting ending of the test match was sure but rain came at the last day when India was needing 157 runs with 9 wickets in hand but unfortunately we were not able to get a result, thanks to rain. India were favourites to win that match.

Team news

England

England have some serious issues to solve before the start of test match . Stuart broad is already out because of injury, even James Anderson is set to miss second test match due to a tight quad. This will be a huge blow for the home side as they both are most experienced test bowlers of England team. Mark Wood is set to come back into the team. Moen Ali has been recalled for the second test match and it is very likely that he will play the second test as a lone spinner.

India

India has only one problem that Shardul Thakur is expected to miss the second test due to strain in hamstring. It will be interesting to see who will come in place of Thakur , it could be spinner R Ashwin if India wants to play 2 spinners but recent matches in lords, pitch is helping fast bowlers rather than spinners. And the second option is to play a fast bowler in Ishant Sharma or Umesh Yadav , but it will weaken batting in lower order. Except this , India is much balanced and confident than England. openers are making runs , bowlers are taking wickets though middle order is a problem , but we except them to perform better in lords.

Weather forecast and pitch condition :-

The first test match was affected due to rain but the weather in 2nd test match is good and whole 5 days of cricket is expected although there is little bit rain On Sunday. The lord ‘s pitch should be a very good pitch , offering a good contest between bat and ball. little bit of grass is expected to be there in pitch. last time India played in lords they were bundled out for just 107 in first Innings.it should be a mouth watering contest in lords . Blood and different blood groups in humans

Blood is a red coloured fluid flowing through the heart and blood vessels.it is also sometimes called as river of life because it circulates all the essential nutrients and oxygen to our body.it is made up of liquid part plasma( water and salts) and solid part( RBC and platelets).blood is pumped by heart to our whole body. Blood is a component of circulatory system of our body.

Structure of blood

Blood is formed mainly of two components that are Plasma and blood cells .plasma is a pale yellow fluid part of our blood .it is about 55 % of our blood composition. Blood cells is also called blood corpuscles. they constitutes about 45% of blood. it is of 3 types that is RBC ( Red blood cells) or erythrocytes , WBC(White blood cells) or leucocytes and blood platelets or thrombocytes.

Some Characteristics of blood

  • Blood is heavier and thicker than water
  • its pH lies between 7.3 to 7.4.
  • Blood’s volume in our body is about 5 to 6 litres.
  • It is saltish in tastes

Functions of blood:-

  1. Transportation of gases : The blood carries oxygen from the lungs to the tissues and carbon dioxide from tissues to the lungs.
  2. Transport of food :- It carries digested food like amino acid , glucose and many other s from our intestine to different organs of the body.
  3. Temperature regulation :-It absorbs heat produced by respiration in internal tissues and transport it in to the skin and lungs for dissipation.
  4. Distribution of hormones :- The endocrine glands secrete hormones directly into the blood . Blood helps to transport them in required organs.
  5. Defence against diseases :- It produces certain antibodies which fights against bacteria. white blood cell (WBC) covers the disease causing bacteria and protect the body.

Blood groups in humans

Karl Landsteiner discovered that human beings have glycoproteins on the surface of RBC called antigens. and globulin proteins in the blood plasma called antibodies. therefore, there is 2 types of antigens A and B and two types of antibodies antibody a and antibody b in our body. Based on this concept , there are 4 types of blood groups found in human body.

  1. ABO blood groups
  • person with antigen A are said to be having blood group A.
  • person with antigen B are said to be having blood group B.
  • persons having both antigen A and antigen B are said to be having blood group AB.
  • Person with no antigen is said to be having blood group O.
    • during blood transfusion , we cannot mix two different types of blood group in a body. when blood groups of 2 different types of groups A and B is mixed , clumping reaction occurs. because either the antibodies of recipient ‘s blood destroys the RBC of donor blood or vice versa.

Person with blood group A are called universal donor , because they can donate blood to any of the blood group. while person with blood group AB are called universal recipients because they have no antibodies and can receive blood from any of the blood group.

2.Rh factor ( Rhesus antigen system) : – Human blood also have Rh antigen . it is of two types Rh positive and Rh negative. Transfusion of Rh negative with Rh negative can be done with no problem and same goes for Rh positive to R h positive transfusion.( Source : Veer Bala Rastogi , 96).

Water resources in India

Water is one of the most essential natural source for us to survive and we have heard it quite a lot time that we cannot survive without it. today I will discuss various resources of water in our country and need to conserve it for future.

In India , we have various resources of water . India receives water from precipitation is about 4000 cubic km. This rain occurs mostly in monsoon seasons with north and northeast getting maximum rain. India has about 4 % of total world’s water resources.

Beside these resources , India has a vast coastline with intended coast in some states. Odisha , Kerala and west Bengal have vast surface water resources in form of lakes. this water is also used for Irrigation of some crops. Irrigation is process of watering of agricultural plants through artificial ways. The availability from surface water ( from lakes , pond , rivers and tanks ) is about 1869 cubic kilometer. Though this level of water is more than enough but , most of the area in India is under tropical climate . About 92% of water is used in Agriculture , 6% for drinking and 2 % for industries. For agriculture , rain is most important resources in India but due to uncertainty of rainfall , uneven distribution of rainfall , crop requirements and nature of the soil, Irrigation is widely used in our country.( source : Jasmine Rachel ,135).

Irrigation are done in India by various ways . It totally depends upon availability of surface and ground water. Various means of irrigation are wells ,tanks , canals and others.

  1. well :- well is a very common source of irrigation we all have seen it in various places. it is a small hole dug in the surface of the earth to obtain water for irrigation. it is a very simple and cheap source of Irrigation.

2. Tube wells : – it is a deeper well at the depth of 20 – 30 m from which water is lifted up for various uses . it can irrigate large area for agriculture. it brings a large amount of underground water. but is little bit expensive.

3. Canals : – canal is the biggest source for irrigation . it is stretched for lakhs of kilometers. Basically ,there are different types of canals that is Inundation canals and Perennial canals . canal irrigation is practiced in Uttar Pradesh , Madhya Pradesh , Rajasthan , Andhra Pradesh and various regions.

Water conservation

Water is a natural resources in our planet . it is a basic need of humans . But due to overuse of it ( increase in population and irrigation) its demand has raised a lot since few years. and amount of water has significantly fallen. some experts also say that world war 3 could be fought due to shortage of water in various countries. we need to conserve water as much as possible . some reasons for it are :-

  1. The overuse of underground water.
  2. Irrigation
  3. The demand of water for industrial use is increasing day by day.
  4. The increase in country’s population.

Water conservation is a very serious mater . fresh water is also declining from earth’s surface. we need to take good steps to conserve water and use efficient measures to conserve water. some techniques to conserve water are rainwater harvesting , water recycling etc.

Software programming

Software programming is a very popular and essential thing in computer science student’s life. Everyone would have a at least a basic idea of software programming and what it is all about. Programming is a set of instructions that is given to computer to perform a specific task.

To explain it in a simple words let us take an example of our daily life, like us we have a common language to communicate with each other , to give someone any instructions for a work, same goes for computers they also have a particular language to perform a task. They cannot understand our language to do a particular thing . and the way we can communicate and give instruction to computer to perform a task is with the help of programming.

Companies in Software programming

There are various jobs as software programmer but it depends on the kind of industry we are working on . it can be a IT company as a software Programmer , which is software product company like Microsoft adobe etc. If we are working in software product company we would be required to do programming for different software products or monitoring the work of many groups of programmers who are working on different parts of the software. we may required in testing each software carefully to remove all glitches in it.

Another kind of IT company is software service companies like Wipro , Infosys etc. In these companies, we do not have to make software products but have to work with individual customers to develop customized software products that would solve the customer’s particular problem. The customer or clients could be any companies like of car manufacturing , banks or any other who are needing a software solution to their problems to save their time , money and many other things.

In a software service company , we can be either a programmer or project leader. we could be involved in documentation in testing or debugging ( running the program again and again with different inputs).

Some advantages of being a software programmer

  • We can work from home with a computer/ laptop with good internet, especially in this pandemic time we do not have to go office to do our work we can simply do in our home with no problems.
  • In market , there is always a demand of software developer, not only for a particular software company but also for other things.
  • There is no limit of software applications . software are yet to be used in their full potential so there are many opportunities to create new software.
  • We may get opportunities to travel abroad frequently. Our company may send us abroad for some special training or our foreign clients may ask us to develop the software in their place for their convenience and requirements.

This is all about software programming companies and opportunities we can get. Talking just about programming languages there are different types of programming like java , C , C++ , python etc. students should learn programming languages as soon as possible in school time for their future if we want our career in it.

India’s best Olympic ever

Today is the closing ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics 2020 , which has definitely become India’s best Olympic ever. India has managed to win 7 Olympic medals which is the highest number of medals in a single Olympic for India breaking the record of London Olympics where India won 6 medals back in 2012.

In this Olympics , there were many athletes who were considered as favourites to win a medal. some were able to cop up with the expectations of 1.3 billion Indians but some crumbled in pressure or by other reasons.

India’s first Olympic medal in Tokyo 2020 came in very first day of Olympics when India’s weightlifter Mirabhai chanu won Silver medal in 49 kg category. All of a sudden India’s medal came in day 1 of the Olympics and we thought this Olympics will be ours . But after day 1 , Indian athletes disappointed and could not increase the medal tally for few days, especially our shooters from whom we were having lot of expectations to win medals disappointed us.

But soon India was assured their second medal when Indian boxer Lovlina borgohain was qualified for semifinals in 69 kg category. she was assured of at least a bronze medal . unfortunately , she lost the semifinal match but she had already won bronze medal for India. she became 3rd boxer for India to win medal in boxing after Marykom in 2012 and Vijender Singh in 2008. In between some disappointed performances , some Indian athletes did really well. After Lovlina, it was the time for PV Sindhu , silver medalist from Rio Olympics. She started really well but lost in semifinal match against Chinese Shuttler TY Tai. But soon made great comeback and won bronze for India.

Till then , India had won 3 medals and was already better from last Olympics where we we only won 2 medals but India’s best was about to come after that . Indian Hockey team was doing consistently good from their first match and soon they qualified for semifinal after many years. Indian women hockey team started poorly but they soon came in their best and qualified for Olympics semi finals but unfortunately ,our both teams lost in semifinals after playing good throughout the match. At the same time , wrestling was also going on where Ravi Dahiya entered finals of freestyle wrestling in 57 kg category. and Deepak Punia after qualifying for semifinals , unfortunately lost his match and was later unable to win bronze medal. Ravi Dahiya later won Silver medal.

But the historic moment came soon when Indian men hockey team won bronze medal match against Germany and won an Olympic medal after 41 years. that was a very historic and special moment for Indian fans. though Indian women hockey team could not win a medal but they won our hearts by playing outstanding hockey. till now, India had won 5 medals.

But the most historic and remarkable moment came yesterday when Indian athlete Neeraj Chopra won Gold medal in javelin throw event finals with a record 87.53 m distance. It was India’s first gold medal in Track and field events and 2nd individual gold medal after Abhinav Bindra’s gold medal in 2008 Beijing Olympics. And in the same day, India’s one of the biggest medal hopes Bajrang Punia also won a Bronze medal in 65 kg category.

That is why , this Olympic has become India’s best Olympics ever. There were some amazing performances who were not able to win a medal but won our hearts like Indian women hockey team , golfer Aditi Ashok, Kamalpreet kaur and many others.

Pollution and its effect on environment and health

We all are familiar with the term Pollution and have heard and observed it lot of times. But here , I want to discuss different types of pollution’s effect on our Environment and health. whether it be air pollution, water pollution , noise pollution ,soil pollution or any other pollution. it has some serious effect on our environment.

As we all know that pollution is an undesirable change in the physical or chemical change in our environment due to accumulation of harmful substances and these substances who causes this pollution are called pollutants.

Now let us discuss some adverse effect of different types of pollution in our environment :-

  1. Effects due to air pollution: it is the one of the most common pollution it is caused due to unwanted particles in air. Major pollutants are carbon monoxide, oxide of Sulphur, hydrocarbons ,carbon dioxide etc.
  • Carbon monoxide : carbon monoxide has a damaging effect on us. it has affinity with haemoglobin and forms stable compound , due to which oxygen capacity of haemoglobin reduces.it can cause headaches, exhaustion and other effects . it can even cause death.
  • Oxides of Sulphur : it causes breathing difficulties and diseases like asthma and bronchitis. It is also harmful to plants and animals. Sulphur dioxide with Sulphur trioxide and water forms Sulphorous acid and Sulphuric acid. which causes acid rain. acid rain can damages various buildings plants and aquatic life.
  • Hydrocarbons: They are very dangerous and many hydrocarbons like methane when oxidizes with Carbon dioxide can increase amount of carbon dioxide in nature. Alkyl nitrates when reacting with molecules in atmosphere can affect blood kidneys and nervous system.
  • Carbon dioxide : high concentration of carbon dioxide can cause global warming and due to global warming it affects our climate and other things.

2. Effects due to water pollution : it is due to the unwanted substances in water bodies. which make it unfit and harmful for use.

  • Effects of nitrates : Excessive presence of nitrates in water is unfit to drink , especially for infants. This excessive nitrates is due to the use of hydrogen fertilizers.
  • Effect of pesticides: pesticides can easily penetrate our skin. it can also cause lung related problems.
  • effect of domestic wastes : it contains a lot of organic matter in forms of soap , detergents and food. such pollutants causes water pollution and can lead to diseases like typhoid cholera Diarrhoea. organic waste from various industries enter in water bodies and cause excessive growth of aquatic vegetation and decreases oxygen content of water.

3. Effects due to soil pollution : it causes loss of natural nutrients , soil organic matter and imbalances the nutrients present in the soil. crops that are grown in contaminated soil can absorbs those toxic material. it weakens the strength of trees. soil erosion is a very common problem.

4. Effects due to Noise pollution : Noise pollution occurs due to unwanted disturbing sound that causes problems to us. Excessive exposure to noise pollution can weaken our ears , can cause headaches , stress and anxiety. Noise pollution can damage ecosystem and also wildlife.

5. Effects due to radiation pollution : it is caused due to contamination of air , water with radioactive materials.

  • Effects of radioactive pollution: Radioactive pollution is a very dangerous and harmful pollution. it can cause diseases like cancer , haemorrhage etc. it can cause infertility of soil . radioactive pollution can damage plants it can affect their life.

nuclear disaster : a devastating fire in the reactor of chernobyl nuclear power plant took place on 26 April 198+6. this resulted in clouds of radioactive smoke affecting nearly 20000 people. Even today many people are suffering due to that.(veer Bala Rastogi , 237).

These all pollutions stated are very harmful for us . we should follow certain steps to decrease their effect in our environment .

what is Information technology?

Information technology or IT is a very interesting and popular field in our life. Basically ,information technology is the use and development of computer software , system and networks or we can say , it is anything related to the computers, and a person or employee who is working on information technology is refer to as IT professional who has a descent knowledge of dealing with it.

We all know that in this generation, computers have revolutionized in today’s industries. whether it is Business, entertainment , shopping , software development or any other. Today computer are being used almost in every sector. IT has played a huge role in this.

In brief, IT includes all matters concerned with advancement of computer science and technology with its use , development and implementation of information systems. We all have become dependent on it we cannot imagine even a single day without it. It also plays a huge role in networking. IT industry is considered as the quickest growing industry in the world.

Now let us discuss about what is a work of an IT professional, but first let us think about making of computers. The one who makes its CPU, one who makes processor ,one who makes monitor, one who develops software , one who connects the computer with internet for us, one who makes websites and other things. these all things that I have stated are not all jobs and work that are linked with IT. IT have a very vast scope. Almost all things are connected with information technology for example , traffic lights that switch between different lights , train ticket reservation system that tells us the number of seats in a train for a particular destination. And books it automatically. There are many many other examples also which is all about information technology. Our life is connected with IT or products of IT.

IT as a career option

It is a very good field for choosing as a career option. IT has many fields that requires good planning to decide on the area that we can choose our career. It can be software development , networking or Animation. we have to update ourselves with new technologies day by day because software keeps on upgrading in short periods of time. if we have a training in a particular domain or or an extra knowledge it is always beneficiary for us with our bachelor’s or master’s degree. We can also do different courses through various platforms to learn various technology and use that certificates in future. And there are many other ways to become good in information technology.

In today’s world different IT companies are hiring IT professionals from different countries. To extract best talent available and make their network large. With a good internet speed , professionals can also work from home or from their preferred location .There are different posts in an IT company. like a programmer . network engineer , hardware technician , Project manager and many other important posts. To sum up , Information technology is a very important and one of the biggest sector in the world and we can build a secure career in it.

India’s performance in Olympics today

Today was a very historical day for Indian hockey in Olympics. Today was day 13 of Tokyo Olympics. India started on a bright note by defeating a strong side Germany in a mouth watering contest by 5-4 , and winning an Olympic medal in hockey after 41 years .

It was a very emotional moment for Indian hockey and players. Indian team made a wonderful comeback because at one stage they were behind by 1-3 . In the match Simranjeet Singh scored India’s first goal of the match but Germany made a roaring comeback and scored 2 goals straightaway and score was 3-1 after that , but just after few minutes Hardik Singh and Harmanpreet Singh scored goals for India and leveled the scorecard with 3-3. After the end of 2nd quarter,

The third quarter went very good quarter for India as India added 2 more goals in their scorecard. Rupinder pal Singh scored 4th goal of the match for India with the help of penalty stroke. The scorecard only got better after that as Simranjeet Singh again scored a goal and gave a 5-3 lead to India. Germany was under pressure .However, Germany scored a goal in 4th quarter but it was not enough as India won a hard fought match by 5-4.

In wrestling, wrestler Vinesh phogat won her first match convincingly by 7-1 but in the next round Vinesh Phogat was defeated by V Kaladzinskaya in 53 kg weight category . But there was a still a way win a bronze medal by winning repechage round but this dream was shattered when V Kaladzinskaya was defeated by Chinese wrestler. Vinesh Phogat was one of the biggest medals hopes for India.

In golf, Aditi Ashok is on a verge of winning historic Olympic medal in golf, after carding a flawless five- under 66 in the second round with five birdies. she is currently on second position after worlds no 1 Nelly Korda of USA .In 20 km race walk, India’s K T Irfan finished 51st , Rohit Rohilla finished 47th and Sandeep Kumar finished 23rd in the race. (source : https://sportstar.thehindu.com/olympics/tokyo-olympics/olympics-2020-mens-womens-freestyle-wrestling-live-streaming-updates/article35731746.ece)

Then came two important matches of India in wrestling where India’s Ravi kumar Dahiya was in finals of the 57 kg category against defending champion Zavur Uguev . But unfortunately, Ravi Dahiya lost a hard fought match by 4-7, and ended with a Silver medal. It was a wonderful performance from wrestler Ravi Dahiya. After that , wrestler Deepak Punia was against M Anime in 86 kg weight category. He was giving a tough fight but unfortunately he lost the match in last seconds of the match.

Today was a very mix kind of day for India, after winning a historic bronze medal in hockey India star wrestler Vinesh Phogat was knocked out of Tokyo Olympics. Aditi Ashok was a big positive for India. Ravi Dahiya won Silver medal but Deepak Punia was unable to win Bronze medal.

Tomorrow is also a very interesting day in Olympics for India as India women hockey team will play against Great Britain and India’s one of the biggest medal hopes Bajrang Punia will start his campaign tomorrow.

Health problems in India

India is a developing county where we are still developing in different fields of life. One of the most important field is health . In health department, India has many loopholes and problems which we face a lot of time and with growing population at a very fast rate that is putting an immense pressure on health care system as as well as natural resources.

The level of health in India is very low also due to large degree of morbidity and mortality. The reason of these are lack of proper environment and sanitation , improper facility, and many other reasons .And these conditions have become even more worse due to poverty, illiteracy and superstitions in our country.

Different health problems in India

  1. Due to food and water borne diseases:- Many diseases are transmitted from person to person due to contaminated food and water. some diseases due to this are Diarrhoea , typhoid , dysentery etc. These diseases are very common in placers where there is lack of water supply regularly. In very rural areas in India, people have no facilitites of water purifiers or aqua gaurds . They drink direct water from handpumps and other places but this water is contaminated with harmful mineral.

2. Air borne diseases : This is another kind of reason of many dangerous diseases. Some diseases can be transmitted through the air we inhale. some diseases due to this transmission are common cold ,influenza, pneumonia. The most recent disease is none other than COVID-19.

3. diseases due to poor housing: Many health problems causes due to living in unhealthy conditions and overcrowded places. Due to which they does not get sufficient sunlight, safe drinking water and basic requirements of healthy life style. These problems may lead to Cholera, typhoid and tuberculosis.

4. Diseases Through insects :- lack of cleanliness may result in houseflies , mosquitos and other insects which may cause diseases like dengue, malaria, filariasis and many other harmful diseases.

5. Diseases due to population : – Population plays a very big role in health problems. diseases that are air- borne, water and also soil population are largely occur in crowded cities and towns.

6 .Due to lack of medical facilities: This is one of the biggest reason of poor health problems in India. Lack of medical facilities in rural, small and remote area always creates big health problems .India has been struggling with weak infrastructure with lack of well equipped hospitals and facilities. In India, we also have a shortage of doctors and nurses in many hospitals especially in rural areas, where maximum population of India lives. The doctor to population ratio in India is just 1 : 1456.( source of data : https://www.deccanherald.com/business/budget-2020/the-doctor-population-ratio-in-india-is-11456-against-who-recommendation-800034.html) . It means there is not even 1 doctor for every 1000 people in India. Our medical facilities was exposed again when COVID-19 ‘s second wave came.

These were some types of health issues that are very common in India. Some of them we cannot control but some are in our control but due to our mistakes, carelessness and bad habits, these diseases are able to go into our body and cause serious health issues. so we have to be very serious for our health.

3 R’s of Waste Management

Waste is one of the biggest problems for humans in today’s world. Whether it be of any kind ,(solid or liquid) it can cause a lot of health damage and many other problems. Basically, waste is any material that is discarded because it has serves its purpose and is no longer useful for us. waste is anything that occupies space, produces odour and smell, and has some weight.

But management of this waste is very difficult and important step to manage it. we know that nature recycles a lot of waste through many processes but due to increasing population , nature cannot manage all waste and this is where humans have to step up because if we will not be look into this it will gradually destroy our environment, cause harmful diseases and many other serious problems.

one of the easiest and popular way to do management of waste is 3 R’s( Reuse, Reduce and Recycle ) let us discuss these 3 R’s in detail :-

  1. Reduce: reducing the waste is the very good way to manage the waste in environment . As more we will reduce the waste more , the less waste will be in environment .some efforts that we can do to reduce waste are:-

we should try to use disposals as minimum as possible, we should buy less products with packaging as it is a very big reason of waste, we always see food packages in streets and roads. This is a major reason of waste. we should either avoid packaging food or manage it properly by keeping it in dustbin. some more methods are:-

  • we should change our old processes for best use of raw material , through which we will be able to reduce waste in industries.
  • the liquid waste can be reduced by many scientific techniques such as precipitation etc.
  • we should try to use segregation of waste method to manage the waste .

2. Reuse: This method is becoming popular day by day. because if we reuse any particular material rather than throwing it away after just 1 use, definitely we will be able to reduce waste in pour area or environment .

we should not throw any material or product just due to a small defect or something else we can do something out of it. it can be reused in a different manner. we should only throw it if we realize that it cannot be reused anymore.

In countries like India, some waste materials like glass, bottles rubber etc. are placed casually in streets, these materials’ can be reused if we use them properly. Although many waste collectors in areas collect these wastes and supply them in useful areas helping in reducing the waste.

3. Recycle : the best R of waste management is recycling the waste. it is a processing of remanufacturing a product to make it useful again. some materials that can be recycled are such as plastic, rubber , glass etc. In India, we have tonnes of waste that is recycled . Plastic is one of the most recyled material that is recycled in tonnes. Recycling helps in reducing the consumption of fresh materials .it is one of the most important process of waste management .

Indian men and women Hockey teams reaches semi finals, creates history

Both Indian men and women Hockey teams are having a wonderful Olympics so far as the both teams has reached semifinals . Yesterday Indian men’s team defeated great Britain by 3-1 and will play semifinal match on a Wednesday 7:00 AM (IST). they have reached semifinals after 49 years. On the other hand , Indian women team stunned Olympic favorites today and beat Australia 1-0.

After these two emphatic wins , the medal hopes are very high from our hockey team. Indian men were very confident against great Britain . India scored 3 field goals in the match, first goal was scored by Dilpreet Singh(7 th minute), 2nd goal from (16th minute) and Hardik Singh’s goal was the final goal from India. Great Britain tried there best but India managed to keep them away from comeback. only one goal was scored by great Britain and that was from Sam Ward.(source of the information 😦 https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/sports/tokyo-olympics/indiatokyo/india-beat-great-britain-3-1-to-enter-semis-of-olympics-mens-hockey-after-49-years/articleshow/84947034.cms)

But the results which was totally unexpected was from today’s women team match, where our women hockey team defeated world champion Australian team. Indian women team was not totally in good touch from starting . They were defeated badly in there first few matches badly and no one in country would have believed at that time, that this team will be in semi finals. They defeated Ireland and South Africa in group matches from where they found a momentum. that is some unbelievable achievement from women’s team. and the way they played today and handled the pressure shows what an remarkable team it is.

Talking about today’ s match, Gurjit Kaur scored the lone goal of the match in 22nd minute through penalty corner. after that both teams tried to score goal but India did very well and Australia was not able to score a goal .Australia got many penalty corners but India did very well to counter that.

Indian men team was in very good touch from starting, they defeated New Zealand in there first match of Tokyo Olympic by 3-2, but then came the match against Australia, where they were blown away with a heavy 1-7 defeat. but the thing to appreciate was India’s comeback. After that match ,they didn’t lose any match and won matches against Argentina, Spain and Japan. This is not an easy thing to do because these type of loses like that against Australia can easily demotivate and and affect your confidence for upcoming matches.

Indian hockey has seen different phases from winning 8 gold medals till 1980 to not able to qualify in Beijing Olympics in 2008.In Rio Olympics 2016, India managed to enter quarter final but was defeated in next round. For a country like India who gave many great hockey players like Major Dhyan Chand , it is very difficult to believe that we were not not able to win an Olympic medal since 1980. But this Indian hockey team has that capability to win a medal for country and they have shown that again and again. If Indian hockey team(either men or women) manages to win a medal in hockey that will be a very huge boost to Hockey in India. it will revive again, India ‘s golden days in hockey will be back.

Ben stokes takes indefinite break from cricket

England all rounder ben stokes has taken an indefinite break from all forms of international cricket, with immediate effect to focus on on his mental state. As a result he wont be available for the test series against India that is starting from next week. but what caused ben stokes to take indefinite rest?

Ben stokes has spent the majority of the last year in bio bubble with England test and limited overs team. and he is a that kind of player, who you could not afford to miss out from playing 11. He has that kind of effect in game. Than after the national duty ,stokes came for IPL where again he had to live in bio secure bubbles as per guidelines.

Bio secure bubbles are very safe bubbles . it was made to organize sporting events during COVID -19 pandemic with strict quarantine and safety measures throughout that period . it is very easy to say that the players who are in bio bubble do not have to do anything they just have to live like a normal life. but it is not so easy in reality. it is a like a cage , an invisible cage where you can go on a limited space only with strict protocols and guidelines to be followed. these bio bubbles are safe for organizing cricket and other sporting events but they are very irritating and difficult for players.

Recently We also heard that about many incidents in this year’s IPL, that many foreign players did not came to play IPL due to bio bubble fatigue because these players were playing in these bio bubbles for a long period of time and they were not ready to live in these restrictions for 2 months more. And in many bio bubbles , families are not allowed.

“Ben has shown tremendous courage to open up about his feelings and wellbeing. “Our primary focus has always been and will continue to be the mental health and welfare of all of our people. The demands on our athletes to prepare and play elite sport are relentless in a typical environment, but the ongoing pandemic has acutely compounded this.

“Spending significant amounts of time away from family, with minimal freedoms, is extremely challenging. The cumulative effect of operating almost continuously in these environments over the last 16 months has had a major impact on everyone’s wellbeing.”

“Ben will be given as long as he needs, and we look forward to seeing him playing cricket for England in the future,” said Ashley Giles, the Managing Director of England Men’s cricket. (source : https://m.cricbuzz.com/cricket-news/118394/ben-stokes-england-cricket-to-take-an-indefinite-break-from-all-cricket-cricbuzzcom)

As a result , ben stokes will miss the upcoming series against India , that will be a huge loss for England test team. There is an uncertainity that whether he will be availabe for ICC T20 WC or not because the time period of his break is not stated. that is going to be held in UAE. but first of all keeping all cricket side, he should take a reasonable amount of break so that he recovers with the mental fatigue as soon as possible.
