To start with, like everything, romantic movies too affect in both positive and negative ways. Talking about positive effects of romantic movies that shows the love relationships between two individuals, irrespective of their age, sex, caste, country and religion affects and in a way broadens the concept of love between two. If we see the earlier and even today’s version of a country like India, we are very well known by the fact that the only love that was considered dignified and pure was that of between two individuals of different sex, same caste, same religion and same age group that also needed to happen between two after marriage only. Love before marriage, love between same sexes, love between individuals of different caste and religion was not at all accepted in earlier India. But now, as we see India is changing bit by bit. There are many who accepts and encourages love that has no boundaries of sex, marriage, caste etc. And for this change, two things are responsible : 1- Education and 2- Romantic movies. Its film industry and the films that younger generations learn from and try to follow. And when these younger generations become older, they allow their next generations to love before marriage and all sort of things. In some cases, old generations also try not to enforce the laws and boundations that were earlier enforced on them in their young ages that didn’t allowed them to love freely and in a way forced them to suppress their desires. That’s how films normalised and even today trying to normalize the love of different kinds that knows no boundaries at all. Films taught people that its nothing wrong in it if they are falling for someone of the same sex or different age group. Off course, only if the other person is also into it equally. Also, romantic movies presents the feelings and situations of both individuals equally and that helps people to understand their partner better. We cannot deny the fact that every person is different in nature and might have different feelings and circumstances that made her/him but anyhow, by presenting love relationships, it gives a sight into other person’s psyche. Or we can say, romantic movies makes us to think beyond ourselves.
Now coming to the negative effects of romantic movies we may say that such movies also develops a particular image of love, what our partner should behave like, or what many times we address it like “Sapno ka Rajkumar” / “Sapno ki Rani”. Its not the dreams that we see about our would be partner but the effect of these romantic movies that we start imagining our partner to be identical to this or that character, which is not at all good. We know every person is different from the other and different circumstances and experiences are the things that makes up the individual into who they are today. So it would be wrong to expect someone to act in a way you want, or a character of a romantic movie you like. On one hand people keep saying that they want a real person who doesn’t act fake to look perfect and on the other its the same people who fancy about a character in a movie and rejects a real person saying that they are not the person they’re looking for. People imagine to have a movie like relation in real life and if things don’t go that way, they simply want to come out of it. That is actually the effect of romantic movies people see and they don’t even realise that their relation can’t work like the cooked up ones in those ENTIRE WORKS OF FICTION.
As I’m going to start this blog I would love to say everyone is perfect in their own personality, in their own perspective, in their own decisions. So it’s been a long time I had passed my school and now persuing my passion (not a course) ‘my passion’ so let me tell what is the main topic I’m talking about but firstly I’ll tell you a story which is real, so I was studying in 10th and one of my closest friend I can’t revel his name but his intrest was in painting and then he was confused that ‘bro what should I take as a stream in 11th’ so I told him what you love or in which you have your interest, but he said my father is telling me to take PCM (science, math) and he wants to take humanity but he was confused because his dad said if you’ll took humanity then there’s no future! And his dad told him take science-maths and then you cout prepare for IIT and he took science-math and just because he want to become a engineer and want to earn money! And he wasn’t happy as he wasn’t able to paint because of his studies and he wasn’t that good in studies so he was trying very hard but I said why I mean if you love to paint and you wanted to take humanity as your stream then did you took science and math just for the sake of money and even you don’t have intrest in science maths then why and he said because of my father. And this is my experience ladies and gentlemen he took science and maths he studied very hard and gave the exam for jee and he failed because he wasn’t having that intrest in PCM. And on the other hand he haven’t painted for more than a year and when he gave his exam and came back home he took his brush and painted and I’ll that art was one of the best of my friend as he hasn’t painted for a while which is more than a year but,
As i said ‘IF YOU HAVE INTREST IN A PARTICULAR FIELD, YOU’LL DEFINITELY WIN’ but if you don’t have intrest in that particular field you’ll definitely lose doesn’t matter who much you work upon it ‘HAVING INTREST IS THE TOP FACTOR’
For example, if you don’t love to cook and your mom said son just cook tonight’s dinner and you know how to cook but you hate it than Tonight’s dinner would be for the dustbin. I’m damn sure! I don’t love to paint and if you’ll say please make my sketch. Then I don’t know what I’ll make but after making that Sketch you’ll disown me I know.
But why you guys just want yurselves to put yur souls, your hard-work, your precious time and obviously money, in those things where you don’t have any Intrest in. My today’s generation just want to become a engineer, doctor, or a IAS.
Okay so, let’s take an assumption, if my friend was passed in that jee exam and he was selected in a college and becomes an engineer and was doing his job properly but what do you think he used to be happy and prosperous okay if you was at his place were you used to feel good and happy. Guys invest yourselves in those materials where you’re good at and where you’ll love your thing. Its not about that we should not listen to our parents but sometimes we should listen to ourselves too.
Sanitation and a clean environment are every human being’s right. The ones who keep the environment clean for us are often not recognized. The sanitation workers or the garbage man collect the garbage generated by us just so that we can have a tidy and healthy surroundings.
Imagine living in a stinky and littered world. It won’t be just gross but unhealthy too; breeding ground for so many germs, viruses, and diseases. Fortunately, we have sanitation workers who are dedicated and available to regularly collect and dispose of the garbage generated by us.
The garbage men play a vital role in maintaining a hygienic civilization. Not just garbage from homes, but different sectors generate different sorts of waste or garbage. These waste products can be hazardous. To safely get rid of it and to maintain public health the garbage men step ahead to collect and dispose of such waste products. However, these people are not always appreciated for the tenacious work that they do for their local community.
History of Garbage Man Day
The owner of JDA (special waste management and sanitation firm), John D. Arwood first recognized the exceptional work of his waste disposal staff and celebrated Garbage Man Day. It was initially celebrated nationally, and John D. Arwood in 2011, funded the first Garbage Man Day. Since then, every year 17th June is recognized as Global Garbage Man Day to recognize the efforts and appreciate the work of sanitation workers.
The day got renamed officially in 2019, as Waste & Recycling Workers Week as sanitation workers don’t just consist of garbage men but many other people, like the waste recyclers.
Why Garbage Man Day?
The garbage men work in a hazardous environment. The garbage or waste they deal with has many elements that can cause them physical harm. The surroundings are also odorous which can make them fall sick, and inhaling foreign particles can even cause respiratory issues.
Medical wastes can be very harmful. Broken glass bottles can not only cause injury but the chemicals or bleaches pouring out or a little bit left in those bottles can cause burns or injuries if came to skin contact. Garbage collection and disposal are not easy tasks. Severe injuries often lead the workers to end up in hospitals, in some cases causing disabilities and even death due to severe injuries or infections.
The day should not just be celebrated to appreciate the extraordinary work of the sanitary workers but also to spread awareness about the risk and severity of the job. Every job has its importance and need. Every job and the one doing it should be applauded for their efforts and dedication.
Globally more and more organizations, companies, and communities are coming together to recognize the efforts of the sanitization workers. Even as individuals we can celebrate this day to appreciate them and contribute to keeping the environment clean by not littering in our surroundings. Participation can be marked in various awareness programs, educating the public about the sanitation workers’ work, and awarding the workers in whatever way possible.
(CoV) are a large family of viruses that are causing illness in human beings. The symptoms of novel Coronavirus are common cold, headache and sometimes more severe diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-CoV). This disease is so dangerous that it can cause death in case of severe infection. LOCKDOWN:- As the spread of Coronavirus was spreading day by day and there was no way to stop it other than causing lockdown. So our government decided to start a complete lockdown all over the country to stop spreading the infection. Not only did our country but also other countries decided the same as we all know that “Prevention is always better than cure”. Effects of lockdown in short:- When the lockdown was first announced people were initially happy but later everyone realized that this lockdown would have severe consequences on our daily life. The lockdown to prevent the spreading of Coronavirus is having various effects on different communities of People. Today I will say about the consequences in students’ life LIFE OF A STUDENT DURING LOCKDOWN:- During this coronavirus time, students ‘ lifestyles had changed a lot. At first all the students were very happy about the lockdown because schools and colleges would remain closed during this time. Everyone thought they could have an ash life, enjoying all day playing games, watching movies right from the morning to the night. Then suddenly we all realized that life without studies and meeting our loved ones are becoming very boring day by day, also all these entertainment games and movies would last for a short period of time and then we all started waiting for the unlocking situation to meet friends and relatives.
Slowly all the school and college authorities started initiating online classes. At first online classes felt better as there was a complete change in the situation of the class’s atmosphere. After a month we realized that there are lots of disadvantages and advantages to this type of education. Finally we realized that this virus is not a blessing to students but a foreshadow of the student’s further life to adjust to the Online mode of education. The shift in education is totally different from an education career. Advantages and disadvantages of online classes
ADVANTAGES: There are no significant advantages because there is a huge loss in jobs, lives, and the economy of the Country. But speaking about the children, there are some advantages. Students used their quality time in studying. They had also got time to explore the talents in them other than studying. We spent lots of time with our family. We all enjoyed the company of our grandparents, cousins, mother, father, and other relatives.Watching a movie along with the family and enjoying it can only happen now at this time. We could spend time with parents and explain career planning views.
Saving Time A lot of time is saved as now we don’t have to travel from one place to another. Instead we can spend five to six hours of the quality time for the online classes. And if we avoid watching movies and playing mobile games then we would also get time for self study that is also necessary.
DISADVANTAGES There are many disadvantages because there is a huge loss in jobs, lives, and the economy of the Country. Main disadvantages for students are
Online Classes One of the problems of online classes is adopting the online classes. The adoption rate is around 50-60% whereas in the classroom the adoption was around 80-90%. It also has adverse effects on the eyes of the students due to long hours in front of the blue screen. The interest in classes does not grow in the small children as the primary grades have low concentration power, and also it is very harmful for these small kids to sit for a longer time in front of the blue screen.
There are many poor students who do not have access to laptops and computers; and for this reason they are lagging in their studies.
There are even more disadvantages of the online classes like- There are no exams; internals are giving marks. This may impact their career in the feature. And finally, students are missing their happiest days in the schools and colleges. We all are hoping that the government will make good decisions on education with clear instructions as early as possible to avoid the situations that occurred by Covid-19 pandemic. @track2traininginstitute@edunewsnetwork
We are living in the Golden era of television. Since the year 2000, television has evolved dramatically. The rise of cable networks resulted in a period of more innovation, quality and quantity, which has since been surpassed by the arrival of streaming services. TV has become the primary source of entertainment for the majority of the population since the introduction of streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, HBO Max and Disney Plus. Previously the thought of a network airing a complete season on a single day was unthinkable. Episodes aired week after week, sometimes back to back, and so on – until streaming services showed their willingness to take a different path. With the knowledge that television is undergoing yet another revolution, and that the medium’s limits and definitions may alter yet again, it seems appropriate to reflect on the past.
With that said, let’s directly jump into the very best chapters of television the medium had to offer.
Note: I’ve considered only one episode per a TV show to make the list more diverse.
The Winds of Winter, Game of Thrones (Season 6, Episode 10)
IMDb Rating: 9.9
Written by: David Benioff, D. B. Weiss
Directed by: Miguel Sapochnik
Air date: June 26, 2016
This is an all-timer. This episode is Game of Thrones at its very best. It offers everything a fan wished for, a shocking yet satisfying end to one of the best seasons of the show.
International Assassin, The Leftovers (Season 2, Episode 8)
IMDb Rating: 9.6
Written by: Damon Lindelof, Nick Cuse
Directed by: Craig Zobel
Air date: November 22, 2015
International Assassin is the most polarizing episode of the most polarizing show, a stress test of an episode that pushes the show’s concept and expands its universe in ways that not everyone will appreciate and that makes it so special and unique.
Chicanery, Better Call Saul (Season 3, Episode 5)
IMDb Rating: 9.7
Written by: Gordon Smith
Directed by: Daniel Sackheim
Air date: May 8, 2017
A standout episode of the show as it stages a bittersweet showdown. This episode marks the climax of a seasons-long power play between Chuck and Jimmy. This episode is a relatively simple installment on a plot level. But it’s the character interactions, as well as the show’s willingness to bring out the worst in these characters and pit them against each other, that have us hooked. This is one of the defining TV episodes you’ll come across on television today.
407 Proxy Authentication Required, Mr. Robot (Season 4, Episode 7)
IMDb Rating: 9.9
Written by and Directed by: Sam Esmail
Air date: November 17, 2019
If there was ever an episode that defined a series, then this is the one. The episode that finally revealed the origin of the titular character. A riveting hour of television, you feel like the characters when you complete the episode, but you embrace every second of it because this is how good television should feel: thrilling, horrifying, and a little bit nauseating.
The Suitcase, Mad Men (Season 4, Episode 7)
IMDb Rating: 9.7
Written by: Matthew Weiner
Directed by: Jennifer Getzinger
Air date: September 5, 2010
The Suitcase says so much with so little, without a visual or narrative trick in sight. And in doing so, it defines a show and sets a high bar for the next decade of television, and most likely the next decade after that. The Suitcase is the one of the best episodes because it tells the show’s story in miniature: flawed, difficult, and damaged characters finding salvation in their job, though not enough to save them from themselves.
Start, The Americans (Season 6, Episode 10)
IMDb Rating: 9.8
Written by: Joe Weisberg, Joel Fields
Directed by: Chris Long
Air date: May 30, 2018
Perhaps the most overlooked episode in the list. The series finale of The Americans is a subdued, sublime, and utterly tragic send-off to one of television’s best shows. It delivered a wondrous wallop that crackled with sadness and urgency. The episode is a fascinating flight full of heartbreaking decisions and unexpected swerves.
If-Then-Else, Person of Interest (Season 4, Episode 11)
IMDb Rating: 9.9
Written by: Denise Thé
Directed by: Chris Fisher
Air date: January 6, 2015
Person of Interest’s never-ending ability to deliver mind-blowing episodes is what makes it one of the best tv shows. And the episode If-Then-Else does exactly the same. Smart, action-filled chapter with a powerfully sad and meaningful conclusion. As the main plot of the show is about the relationship between humans and machine, this episode in particular dig deeper in to that. This episode is about what it means to be a machine, but it’s also about what it means to be human.
Final Grades, The Wire (Season 4, Episode 13)
IMDb Rating: 9.5
Written by: David Simon, Ed Burns
Directed by: Ernest Dickerson
Air date: December 10, 2006
The Wire’s fourth season came to a close with a mega-episode that alternated between periods of crushing despair and sparks of hope and optimism. Watching this episode was like putting down a fantastic book, one that had provided knowledge, excitement, a view into another world, and consistent brilliance with character development throughout the season.
ronny/lily, Barry (Season 2, Episode 5)
IMDb Rating: 9.8
Written by: Alec Berg, Bill Hader, Taofik Kolade
Directed by: Bill Hader
Air date: April 28, 2019
Perhaps the most recent episode on the list. It was released during the same weekend when Game of Thrones most awaited episode The Long Night and Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame came. But somehow this episode of Barry impressed me the most when it comes to action sequences and storytelling. The episode is an absolute knockout it’s suspenseful, surreal, and darkly hilarious.
Pine Barrens, The Sopranos (Season 3, Episode 11)
IMDb Rating: 9.7
Written by: Tim Van Patten, Terence Winter
Directed by: Steve Buscemi
Air date: May 6, 2001
The oldest episode on the list but the one that defined television forever. A distinctly self-contained short story. The episode is a classic example of the show’s unpredictability and surprisingly humorous tone. It’s basically a cross between an anti-buddy comedy and a nightmare; it’s funny, absurd, and horrifying all at the same time.
The View From Halfway Down, BoJack Horseman (Season 6, Episode 15)
IMDb Rating: 9.9
Written by: Alison Tafel
Directed by: Amy Winfrey
Air date: January 31, 2020
The only animated episode in the list. The episode is a depressing perspective on the inevitability of death. Although this is an adult cartoon, one of the things that make it wonderful is that the writers put a lot of effort into crafting strong writing and a great tale that does credit to all of the characters and the result can be seen in this episode.
Ozymandias, Breaking Bad (Season 5, Episode 14)
IMDb Rating: 10
Written by: Moira Walley-Beckett
Directed by: Rian Johnson
Air date: September 15, 2013
Do you ever watch something where you are so emotionally invested by the characters, setting and story that when it’s over, you can’t help but sit and contemplate what you just watched? Exactly felt the same after watching this episode. Ozymandias is perhaps the most gut-wrenching, twisted, horrific, well-planned episode ever made. This episode is Breaking Bad storytelling at its finest. It’s completely flawless. Not surprising that it is the highest-rated episode in the history of television.
INTRODUCTION:- There are many materials that are used to support life on earth and meet our needs called Natural resources. E.g.Oil, coal, natural gas, metals, stone sand, air, sunlight, soil and water. Animals, birds, fish and plants are also natural resources Types of natural resources:- There are many ways to classify natural resources. On the basis of the resource availability and and its uses natural resources are classified into two types. They are as follows: Renewable Natural Resources: The resources that are present in unlimited quantities and can be replenished naturally or can be sustained over a short period of time are called renewable natural resources. E.g., air, water, sunlight, soil, biomass, geothermal. Non-renewable Natural Resources: The natural substances that are present in limited supplies and these are not replenished with the speed at which it is consumed. It is a finite resource. E.gFossil fuels such as coal, petroleum, and natural gas. NATURAL RESOURCES DEPLETION: We are using natural resources endlessly everyday. Explosion of population is causing overexploitation of natural resources and with little or no care is being taken to conserve them. Therefore natural resources are depleting to meet the needs of a huge population. However, we need to understand that natural resources are finite. Even to meet the population’s needs , renewable resources are not getting enough time to replenish . Thus, we can even wonder what the condition of non-renewable resources might be. So we can say that this depletion of natural resources is quite harmful to the earth and its inhabitants. Impact of depletion of natural resources: Minerals are being used rapidly as we need it for almost everything from housing to business. Thus, a major decline in these minerals like coal, copper etc are being noticed. If we do not conserve them completely, one day we will run out of all of them.
Similarly, the oil reserves are also running out. We won’t be able to produce more oil and thus we won’t get any petroleum. The prices will increase and many economies will crumble due to this lack of resources.
Similarly, the rate of cutting of forests is increasing day by day. Cutting down the Aarey forest in Mumbai is a major example. The damage caused as a result of this deforestation is quite dangerous. This will increase the carbon dioxide levels and alter the water cycle on earth. The day is very near when we will face frequent floods and soil erosion which will decrease our biodiversity.
Most importantly, the way of wasting water needs to be checked right away. Many countries are facing a water crisis and we know that life is impossible without water. The farmers won’t get enough water for irrigation. This results in famine and many more deadly consequences. We must not waste these resources. We should always find ways to prevent the depletion of natural resources.
WAYS TO PREVENT DEPLETION OF NATURAL RESOURCES:- There are many ways by which we can prevent the depletion of natural resources. The ways are as follows:- We should reduce our dependence on fossil fuels. This can be done by stopping wastage of electricity. We should try to use carpool with your neighbors or relative and travel public transport instead. We should stop polluting water. The freshwater bodies are running out of clean water. We must organize cleanliness drives to clean the water of these bodies. We must not let the tap run for a long time. The industries must be banned from dumping their toxic waste into the water. Furthermore, we must stop taking long showers and bath using a bucket The most important thing is we should plant more trees and preserve our existing forests. We must not let anyone to cut down. They are a very important natural resource needed for human survival. We must use less paper to avoid cutting down of trees. We can all come together and prevent this depletion of natural resources because this depletion of natural resources is very harmful for our future. Thus depletion of natural resources can have a very harmful consequences in future so from now onwards we must start to preserve all of them.
Every year on 15th June World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) is celebrated. The United Nations General Assembly officially recognized it in December 2011, on the plea of the International Network for the Prevention of Elder Abuse (INPEA). Every year many awareness programs take place globally to voice against the abuse taking place on elderly people.
What is Elder Abuse?
Elder abuse can be defined as “any act or lack of appropriate conduct that causes any harm or hampers the well-being of an elder person. Elder abuse is a global issue that requires attention internationally.
People often exploit and neglect the elderly. Their age makes them much vulnerable to abuse. Being old, body and mind become weak, making them unable to resist or take any action against any sort of exploitation or abuse. Elder abuse takes place in every corner of the world but is still taboo as no one talks about it.
The old people are often beaten, neglected, abandoned, and even sexually exploited. The elderly are not only exploited by outsiders, but even by their families. It mostly happens because people find them weak and feel them as a burden on them. There are many cases where children have abandoned their old parents after transferring all their parents’ property on their names by forceful means.
Abuse of the elderly can take many forms.
• Neglect- Life necessities such as food, clothing, shelter, and medical care are not provided.
• Verbal Abuse- Using threatening and foul language to create a sense of fear within the elderly.
• Physical Abuse- Causing physical harm by beating and even trying to kill the elder person.
• Social Abuse- Restricting the elderly from having any social contact with anyone to restrain them from sharing about the abuse they are facing.
• Financial Abuse- Forcefully taking upon the elder person’s property or illegal use of their money.
These abuses not just harm the elder person physically but also mentally. Such abuses may lead to traumatic experiences by the elderly and deteriorate their mental health, which might result in depression or anxiety.
There are laws for protecting the rights of the elderly. But when no voice is raised against the abuse, how would the laws help? The person facing such abuse often declines to lodge any complaint against it. Either they have no will left to do so after suffering so much, or they think “what the society would think if they come to know about it”.
2021’s Theme for World Elder Abuse Awareness Day
This year (2021) the theme for World Elder Abuse Awareness Day is ‘Access to Justice’. It aims at reminding the importance to address the elderly peoples’ needs who seek recourse for any wrong happening taking place with them.
The elderly deserve and need just love, care, and respect. If today’s youth is tomorrow’s future, then the elderly is the foundation of tomorrow’s future. The knowledge we have today is what has been passed on to us through generations, through our parents; our grandparents. The elderly are the tressure box to this knowledge and life lessons who need to be cherished and not abused.
Every human has the right to live a life of dignity. And the old people are nowhere to stand distinct. They deserve the same rights as any other human being. They have the same right to enjoy their rights as others do.
Dictionary meaning of unification is “being united or made into a whole.”
Many lawyers believed a century ago that the law of individual nations could and would eventually be unified. In a well know speech made in 1888, Ernst Zitelmann advanced a case for “global law” (Weltrecht). Because the formalities of legal provisions are the same everywhere and policy goals are, or will be, shared by every civilized society, his argument goes, the law of every nation will eventually converge.
Now, it has been said earlier that the need for private international law arises because the internal laws of different countries differ from each other. There will almost certainly be no need for private international law if all countries’ internal laws provide uniform rules. But then, difference is not only in the internal laws of different countries but also in the private international laws of countries, on account of which sometimes conflicting decisions are pronounced by the courts of different countries on the same matter. Thus, the need for the unification of rules of private international law arises.
There are two modes for unification of private international law:
Unification of the internal laws of the countries of the world, and
Unification of the rules of private international law
The first step in the direction of the unification of internal laws was taken by the Bern Convention of 1886 under which an international union for the protection of rights of authors over their literary and artistic works was formed.
But this method of unification has not been successful in the long run because every nation differs from the other with respect to culture, religion, the upbringing of the people, public policy, etc.
On account of basic ideological differences among the countries of the world, it is not possible to achieve unification of all private laws. Therefore, another method of avoiding the situation where courts in different countries may arrive at different results on the same matter is the unification of the rules of Private International Law. Given the necessity of unifying Private International Law standards, various substantial international attempts have been made in this regard, some of which have been successful. Prior to 1951, the main focus was on unifying the principles of private international law of European Continental countries, as the vast majority of them have civil law systems. On the other hand, nothing could be done towards the unification of rules of private international law of the commonwealth countries and the United States on the account of fundamental differences between the two systems of law. However, following 1951, several significant attempts at unifying the rules of private international law of all countries of the world were attempted, with some success. In 1951, a permanent bureau of Hague Conference was constituted to look after this issue. The purpose of the Hague Conference on Private International Law (HccH) is to work for the broad unification of the rules of private international law. HccH creates and promotes international agreements in the areas of child protection, family and property relations, legal cooperation and litigation, and commercial and financial law.
This is now handled by the International Institute for Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT). It is an independent intergovernmental organization with its seat in Villa Aldobrandini in Rome. And its purpose is to study the needs and methods for modernizing, harmonizing and coordinating private, and in particular commercial law, as between states and group of states and to formulate uniform law instruments, principles, and rules to achieve those objectives. It was set up in 1926 as an auxiliary organ of the League of Nations. The Institute was re-established in 1940 on the basis of multilateral agreement, the UNIDROIT Statute. As of 2014, UNIDROIT has 63 state members from over 5 continents.
BENEFITS
If the rules of Private International Laws are unified, it’ll reduce the amount of conflicts which arise when a foreign element is involved. Also the proceedings will be less time-consuming. The proceedings will run smoothly and move ahead in an efficient manner as the Courts would know which law to apply and would not have to spend time on that question. Also, in this era of globalization, unification of rules can bring the entire world on the same platform.
DRAWBACKS AND CHALLENGES
Internal laws of every country are different to each other as per their requirement. But now, the trend which can be observed is that even Private International Laws are very different from one another and not uniform in most of the countries. The foremost challenge in the unification of rules is to make different countries agree to the same rules. Secondly, for obvious reasons every nation would want the rules to be as per their needs. So such circumstances, the requirements of some/many countries may be overlooked even if uniform rules are agreed to. Another major challenge will be to enforce these rules in each and every countries of the world.
Since laws differ from one state to another often times, the conclusions for a defined problem are different, for different states. Now, unification of the internal laws of every country is practically impossible because the internal laws of every country are made only as per the requirements for their society. Therefore, internal laws differ from country to country.
But if rules for private international law are unified then it might solve the dilemma of deciding the applicable laws in a matter involving foreign element. As private international law rules are applied as the domestic rules of a country.
With the help of such unification duration of court proceedings could be reduced and uniformity among the countries could be brought. Also with the help of unification all the countries could be bought at same platform.
The fundamental concept of unification is that the final goal of all the courts of all countries of world is similar that is to bring justice. Thus, with the help of unification of rules of private international law justice could be served at a fast rate and conflicting judgments on same matter by different courts of different countries can be avoided.
See it’s so disturbing to read, every time we fill any form or login into something they ask us to fill about our gender, is this really important?
What they are going to figure out from this? And if you doubt anything then you can ask Are you a robot or a human. THIS SOUNDS BETTER THO.
WHY IN THIS WORLD SEXUALITY IS A BIG THING? WHY?
Oh! You know he is gay, she is lesbian, see how he/ she is behaving. She is a girl and sees how she is wearing clothes like boys, Hey you are a boy & boys don’t cry.
WE ARE YOUTHS OF THIS COUNTRY AND CHANGE WILL COME BY US!!
We can’t change the thinking of the old generation because they lived in that period where things were different but we are the new generation we can bring the change by supporting every gender and in the upcoming time we have to teach our children about the equality that’s how things will turn into everyone’s favor.
45 days after the incident that shook one of the most powerful nations in the world, a bill was hastily passed. The Patriot Act . This changed the world. The patriot act was passed by US president George Bush as an direct response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks. It was a effort to tighten U.S. national security, particularly as it related to foreign terrorism. In general, the act included three main provisions:
It expanded abilities of law enforcement to surveil, including by tapping domestic and international phones
It eased interagency communication to allow federal agencies to more effectively use all available resources in counterterrorism efforts; and
It increased penalties for terrorism crimes and an expanded list of activities which would qualify someone to be charged with terrorism.
Since it was not possible for the US government to collect all data, they outsourced it. This is where we come in the picture. Many companies emerged in true american entrepreneurial spirit to meet the government’s demands. For example, Edward Snowden worked for Booz Allen Hamilton, a consulting firm that describes itself as a leading provider of management and technology services to “government clients in defense, intelligence, and the civil sectors.” Yet Booz Allen Hamilton is just one of many private contractors.Even right now 70% of the U.S. Intelligence Budget Goes to Private Contractors. This is what created the big data craze. Other government agencies obviously followed the United States NSA, for example britain’s GCHQ.
As of now we know all the big countries are actively spying on their own citizens. Although this is not confirmed FOR India per se, it may be possible that we are also under surveillance.
So what does mass surveillance change for you?
Mass surveillance is a threat to human democracy as we know it. Time and again we have seen governments justifying mass surveilllence in the name of stopping terrorism but in reality this did not happen..
“If you haven’t done anything wrong, you have nothing to fear.
As absurd as it sounds, this is a common statement used to justify mass surveillance. It introduces this kind of notion that you are a traitor to your country if you can’t sacrifice your privacy for the greater good. This idea is nonsensical. If you look into evidence of what the NSA used all of its data collection for, it was found that only 1% of it was related to terrorist activities. People not wanting to share literally everything about their life doesn’t make them traitors or selfish. Right to privacy is a basic human right .
So what is the solution?
Throw away that little tracking device in our pockets? Go live in a cave?
No. Humans shouldn’t have to live under false identity to escape surveillance. It is our right to demand stricter laws and have no tolerance towards any kind of surveillance. We shouldn’t let data leaks by big companies slide. It’s time to start a movement. Otherwise, we all are going to have to read George Orwell’s ‘1984’ as a buyer guide!
The UNGA President, Abdulla Shahid, who is Minister of Foreign Affairs For Maldives as of 2018 election and the 76th President of the UNGA (United Nation’s General Assembly) as of June 7. He earned 143 votes out of 191 ballots cast in the 193-member General Assembly , winning against former Foreign Minister of Afghanistan Dr Zalmai Rassoul, who got 48 votes.
Abdulla Shahid has expressed confidence that discussions on way to eliminate international terrorism at UN expedite under his presidency. In the interaction with TOI, he said he’ll will urge members to find solutions to such pending issues as soon as possible.
“The issue of terrorism is being discussed at a legal committee, Sixth committee and I’m sure this year will be increase in effort by many countries to expedite the matter. Of course, expected to any incoming President to clear most of the agenda items as expeditiously as possible, I would like a number of pending issues to be finalized. I’d urge members to conclude and find solution to such pending issues as soon as possible,” said Shahid 76th President of UNGA
The Sixth committee is the primary forum for consideration of legal questions in the General Assembly, has been interminably discussing the comprehensive convention on international terrorism without any real progress.
As Shahid acknowledged, India was among first countries to formally endorse Maldives’ India continued to publicly support Shahid.
“We are grateful for that, especially when two of the Sarcc members were competing. It was very important for a candidate to have a clear position from India in the public. I thank PM Modi and Foreign minister S Jaishankar for it,” said Shahid.
When asked about response on Covid-19 failing to meet the expectations of developing countries and their confidence in UN beginning to wane, Shahid said one of the main issue he promised to deal with is speedy supply of vaccination.
“In my vision statement, I’ve outlined the issues that need urgent attention, Number one is the strategy to deal with Covid-19 and the new strains that are coming up. Then, of course , is the vaccine. Vaccination in the world had to be the first priority because no one is safe until everyone is safe. I can see a lot of expectations from the membership for this to happen. I’ll be working very closely with GA membership for increasing the speed of vaccination,” said Shahid.
Indian cricket team on 18th June are set to play the historic test match of all time. After all it is the inaugural World Test Championship final faceoff between India and New Zealand.
Indian team have already named their squad for the finals and currently they are practicing in England ahead of the final match. Team India has got the perfect balance in all the departments mixed with experience and it seems all good so far.
But Virat Kohli’s men still have lot to work on the team combination before they meet the Blackcaps in Southampton. The pace bowling department of Indian team comprised of some skillful and experienced players with the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma and Mohammed Siraj accompanied by two world class spinners – R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja. So it’s going to be a headache for Virat Kohli and Indian management to pick the final eleven before the Test match.
Whereas, former India cricket opener Virendra Sehwag feels India needs to play both Jadeja and Ashwin in the final as the team needs to play to its potential. He feels India should go with 5 bowlers strategy with 3 pacers and 2 spinners as it will also strengthen their lower middle order batting.
“I don’t have any idea about how the wicket would look like on June 18th but one thing I have always believed is that you need to play to your strengths. If India can play with five specialist bowlers that will be great thing because I still believe that two spinners will come into effect on fourth and fifth day. The rough which will be created because of the foot marks, that can be utilized when two spinners are bowling in tandem to generate turn from the pitch,” Sehwag told PTI in an interview.
“Two spinners will be good for India because both Ashwin and Jadeja are capable all-rounders. That also adds depth to your batting. You don’t need a sixth batsman with both of them around.”
He further added, the contest between two IPL mates – Rohit Sharma and Trent Boult would be mouth watering and it will further spice up the finale in Southampton.
Sehwag who himself was a swash-buckling opener in his hey-days, is more eager to watch Rohit Sharma and he feels, according to Rohit’s technique and style he surely would be successful in this summer not only against the blackcaps but also against the England team in the test match series.
“Boult vs Rohit Sharma will be a contest that I would be looking forward to. If Rohit gets set and see off Boult’s opening spell, it will be a treat to watch,” feels Virender Sehwag .
He also warns the Indian batsmen against the New Zealand pacers – Trent Boult, Tim Southee, Kyle Jamieson and Neil Wagner. All of them are accustomed to the English conditions and it will be a great contest between their bowlers and the Indian batsmen.
We don’t know what strategy Virat Kohli is going to apply in the historic finale but we can surely say, it is going to be one of the greatest Test match of all time.

5. Inside the massive (and unregulated) world of surveillance tech | Sharon Weinberger
Thanks to dystopian novels, we all know surveillance is a weapon in the information age. But it might shock you to know that selling surveillance technology does not require you to have an export license in most countries including the United States(the way most arms sales would). It’s this unregulated weapon technology that journalist Sharon Weinberger warns us about. From devices that can collect DNA just by swiping across the skin to devices that can identify a person and their exact geographical location just based on their unique voice print technology in the spy bazaar is alarming. This talk will open your eyes to the dangers of an unregulated market.
12 Greek gods were considered to be the main gods, the most important deities in Greek mythology. They resided on Mount Olympus where the throne of Zeus is considered to be situated according to Greek Mythology.
I have mentioned the Twelve Olympians in the list below:
ZEUS: Zeus is referred to as the king of gods, the allfather, the chief of gods. He was born to Cronus and Rhea. Zeus was horrified with human sacrifice and so he flooded the world to wipe out humans. Throughout history, he is depicted as someone who terrorized humans by thunder and lightning.
HERA: Hera is known as the Queen of Gods, matron goddess. She is Zeus’s sister as well as wife. She is the goddess of marriage, family, childbirth. Hera is famous for her jealousy so much so that even Zeus was scared of her rage.
POSEIDON: Poseidon is the god of the horses, sea, oceans, and earthquakes. He was the second son of Cronus and Rhea.
DEMETER: Sister and wife to Zeus, Demeter is the god of harvest, fertility, agriculture, sacred law. She also bore Plutus to Lasion. Her favorite animal is the pig.
ATHENA: She is the goddess of war and wisdom. She was also known for spinning and weaving. No one is better than her domains i.e., war and wisdom, she is so fierce that even Ares fears her.
APOLLO: He is the God of Oracles, archery, arts and music, knowledge, sunlight, herds, and protection of the young. His parents are Zeus and Leto. He is also considered the most beautiful Greek god. He is known as an averter of evil.
ARTEMIS: Daughter of Zeus and Leto, twin sister of Apollo, Artemis is considered as the goddess of wild animals, hunting, vegetation, and childbirth.
ARES: Son of Hera and Zeus, Ares is the god of war. He was not worshipped much because of his brutality and cruel nature. Although Athena was also the goddess of war, she represented a strategic part of the war, unlike Ares who represented killing.
APHRODITE: She is the goddess of desire, love, beauty. According to Iliad, Aphrodite is the daughter of Zeus and Dione. She was married to Hephaestus but she was not faithful to him because she cheated on him several times.
HEPHAESTUS: Known as “the celestial artificer”, Hephaestus is the god of fire and blacksmiths. He is portrayed as ugly and unfit, unlike other Greek gods. He is one of the many children of Zeus and Hera.
HERMES: Hermes is the god of travelers, road, thieves, athletes. He is considered the herald of gods. He can move easily between the mortal world and the divine with the help of his winged sandals.
HESTIA/BACCHUS: Other than the above-mentioned 11 gods, either Hestia or Bacchus is considered the twelfth god to reside on Mount Olympus. Hestia is the goddess of the hearth, virginity, home, and family. Bacchus is the god of wine, theatre, and ritual madness.
“Somehow we must transform the dynamics of the world power struggle from the negative nuclear arms race which no one can win to a positive contest to harness man’s creative genius for the purpose of making peace and prosperity a reality for all of the nations of the world”. -Martin Luther King, Jr.
One fathomless longing of the human is for security, peace, and stability. And the possession of a nuclear weapon or other weapons of mass destruction is the greatest menace for humanity.
Nuclear weapons are the most lethal and indiscriminately inhumane weapons ever existed. It’s the only thing present on this planet to be capable of wiping out life.
We have already seen the catastrophic damage it brought upon Japan in 1945. And as time passed by we humans have found out other more deadly and fatal weapons. Since the Japan bombings, we have not seen any other full-magnitude international war situations not just because there are no serious diplomatic tensions but because many of the nations possess nuclear weapons.
Nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation is not just a global security issue but one in a class of its own, having profound urgency. The only other weighing global issue being climate change.
The gravest danger today is the existing stockpile of nuclear weaponry. There are at least 23,000 existing nuclear warheads with a combined destructive capability of around 150000 Hiroshima or Nagasaki-sized bombs.
YES, NUCLEAR DISARMAMENT IS NECESSARY
Experts have been urging continuously for complete disarmament, which is completely justified.
In 1963, Saint John XXIII urged the prohibition of an atomic weapon and stated that authentic and lasting international peace cannot rest on a balance of military power, but only upon mutual trust.
Experts say that when a nuclear bomb will explode the surface will become hotter than the sun causing mass destruction, thus bringing annihilation. The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists advanced the symbolic Doomsday Clock by 30 seconds in February, which indicates how the world leaders are failing in maintaining peace.
Countries like the USA and Russia have High-alert nuclear weapon(s) whose launch can be ordered (through the National Command Authority) and executed (via a nuclear command and control system) within 15 minutes or less. The USA has 6450 nuclear bombs in hand while Russia holds 6850 of them. With so high a degree of hazard in existence, the threat seems to be present above our head like a dangling sword.
Apart from this, Nuclear Terrorism is undeniable insecurity. Many terrorist organizations are trying hard to obtain nuclear weapons and THE BLACK MARKETING OF NUCLEAR WEAPON MATERIAL IS A GLOBAL THREAT. And if in unfortunate times they got hold of it, the holocaust it would create is beyond imagination. Even if according to some experts the probability of terrorists having hold of a nuclear weapon is very small due to the weapon’s high security, we should not underestimate their capability as they have tried before and will try again in the future.
The Japanese terror cult Aum Shinrikyo, which used sarin gas in the 1995 Tokyo Metro attack, has also tried to acquire nuclear weapons. In July 2014, after the fall of Mosul(a city in Iraq) , ISIS militants captured nuclear materials from Mosul University. Later nuclear experts confirmed the material to be of “low grade”. Till now terrorists are unsuccessful in acquiring nuclear materials but that does not mean they will not in the future.
Concludingly,
“A world of peace, free from nuclear weapons, is the aspiration of millions of men and women everywhere. To make this ideal a reality calls for involvement on the part of all: individuals, religious communities and civil society, countries that possess nuclear weapons and those that do not, the military and private sectors, and international organizations” says Pope Francis in memory of the victims of the Hiroshima atomic bomb during his visit to the Peace Memorial Park on November 24, 2019.
