Depression

Some feelings are like old familiar friends, Depression is like that for me. When I’m not in it, I don’t remember.I remember it’s bad,I remember darkness, but it is different to feel it again. It’s the difference between remembering what a room looks like and actually walking through the door in that room. Being inside it again, feeling it again.
When depression starts,it can be slow at first. An instructive thought appears,“I don’t want to be here”and assume it’s gone like you bat it away like a fly or a bad smell. But when it hits you fully though when you are really in it,it’s everything; It’s Who you’re, you’re nothing else. On the outside, You look the same smiling and pretending is so much work but inside it’s a different story. You start to hate yourself, you’re so alone;so unbelievably Alone. And you can be with someone you Love but you’re not really with them.

“We think we know what’s going on with other people, but we don’t.You never really know what’s going on inside someone else’s head. Everyone’s fighting a battle;you can’t see.” We all have blind spots. And you know it’s you,it’s something wrong with you and it’s also exhausting: so goddamn shitty and exhausting,it’s helpless. It’s a void and existing takes so much energy, you want to sink into a hole of nothing where no one talks to you and you don’t have to smile or talk or be.

Anyway, it’s familiar, I’ve been here before, gotten out of it before but getting out of the part becomes the room that you remember but aren’t in; and that’s what’s Scary.

Okay??

Basically everyone expects the normal student lifestyle with proper and regular routine or schedule to follow for a student even that student too.But Eventually mine is bit different.Different lifestyle is not a decision of mine but the wise decision is something that to accept this difference.
Like all other students I’m also a student of a regular class of academic course at a high named Central University. But the thing is I’m not capable of interacting with people or Hodge podge anymore,The reason behind is something I’m not blaming but before Corona pandemic i was not that what I’m now.I feel anxious and low from deep down to be in gathering,it’s became tough to hear more than one sound hitting my ears, even sunrays and a close conference room makes me uncomfortable.
But taking these all wisely i chose to work from my room ,even class work , activities, projects and all doing individually that makes me feel really good.My elders and professors are understandable enough.I order food or cook sometimes,i ate,i do work like personal stuffs too,I enjoy myself ,watch movies, series etcetera it’s also appreciable for me to write about my lifestyle cause I’m living my own way with no glitches or now atleast and it’s working literally, every well wishers hoping to see me out or be social like before i was,but here I’m not only hoping but working on it too.
What do you think, does it sound like a normal lifestyle? If I’m the only one who is facing this? The answer is Big Noo…
As of now things are getting recovered after the pandemic, One after one has faced different phases but the outcome is the same It is Anxiety, depression or phobea and many health issues as well as mental issues. They try to be social,to be active and involved like they were before Pandemic. But there and then remember one thing that things will get worse when we push it to show surroundings that we are okay and internally we continuously go deep down by doing this.

    So just let it be,
If you don’t want to be in gather just make a space where you can feel atleast not bad than to be in gathering.
If you don’t wanna hear something/someone just listen to you for yourself to make Comfortable atleast.
Don’t wanna go out or see something just feel for yourself and work yourself to do productice that can be seen for a single time atleast.
Atleast eat a bite and drink a drop to immune your brain that is continuously running without break.
Don’t wanna describe yourself to anyone, just don’t do but focus on yourself to make your personality and let it describe your victory.
Not feeling okay is too short to say, just don’t say… but i have one oath to say that is;It’s totally okay to not be Okay. Okayy?

Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary.” — Fred Rogers

Jealousy, Inferiority Complex & Insecurities – Different Words, Same Emotions

Jealousy is common nowadays but none admits it. People love flaunting anger which is as destructive as jealousy but the former isn’t related to self image always. Its just a product of either our emotional state or our pride. But why is jealousy hidden? And why is it more dangerous? Because if anger means killing one’s peace and calmness, jealousy slowly poisons one’s self image, slowly, until there is a sudden awareness of one losing his true identity.

Its not a fault. But

the society perceives it as one. Most of the times people can’t help it. Anger can be controlled but jealousy cannot be controlled if it ever generates in their mind. Yes, it is true that perceptions help us to maintain a positive mental health but not always one can nurture a positive perception. Jealousy is a mirror of our insecurities, self doubt and inferiority complex because when one is truly happy with what they are, they never find the need to compare themselves with some other individuals who are possessing some other different talents or possessions. Often at work or even in colleges and schools, people face the problem of dealing with their insecurities and doubts. People usually applaud the ones who have some visible, well known, unique talents which they successfully convert into skills but however, we all tend to ignore the ones who fail to convert their talents into skills and instead of motivating them, most of the times we find them being cornered, which results to low self esteem. Such people may or may not be compared by their colleagues or family but they start comparing themselves with others and tend to pin point flaws which they think they possess. Whereas in reality these assumptions are worse than hallucinations. Such thoughts and mental state has often lead to many cases of severe depression and suicides as these people loose the interest in their lives and due to continuous comparison, they forget their worth. Henceforth, people who are jealous of others are not always the enemies or haters. They are mostly people who find themselves cornered in the presence of the other people or a particular person, and often loose their confidence and self esteem while comparing their achievements and talents with the others who are applauded in the room

Jealousy is also a product of perfection. When one is considered to be the BEST in the room, their fear often pokes them to hold on to their position and even if someone is applauded, they don’t take it positively. Their mind perceives it as a COMPETITION where they have to win. This is when one starts either being aggressive or a bully. Sometimes even a demotivator. That’s when one stops being a leader and starts being a boss. One compliment to someone else and the mental peace remains broken. This is how fragile jealousy makes our mind.
However in such cases one should talk. If not to their friends or family members, they can talk with themselves. If self comparison is worse than the others comparing us, self appraisal and motivation is way better than the others motivating us. Spending time with ourselves and discovering what we are good at supports our self image. Unless we polish ourselves, we can’t shine.

When our mind accepts the fact that we are a separate individual and that we can’t be someone’s replica, we often free ourselves from one of the most deadliest manmade mental torture device, jealousy. If someone has something better to offer to the world, instead of torturing our peace and our basic personality, we can learn from them. And to do that, we can keep aside our ego and accept the fact that none is the best and there will always be people around us who maybe better or worse than us. The choice is in our hands. We can learn from the better and be our best or we can compare ourselves with the better and be the worse.

“Not all scars are visible”- Mental health

You might consider yourself to be physically healthful but do you possess a healthy state of mind? How frequently do you consider mental pressure, anxiety or an ill mood? We all must be conscious of the point that a healthy mind as well as a healthy body, both are a part of what makes us whole. Consequently, looking after mental health is as fundamental as caring for the physical health.

A healthy mind encompasses the ability of individuals that allows him or her to withstand the stressful and troublesome situations of life, work productively and contribute their presence in the community. But multiple times people are not competent to look after what they think intense in their minds. That is when the mental disorder begins. A consequence of which they might suffer from depression, anxiety, autism, schizophrenia, obsessive-compulsive disorder, dementia and many more. These disturbances makes them feel sad and makes their mood low. They may face severe mood fluctuations of highs and lows and make them unable to cope with even simple life problems. They may face problems while concentrating and have reduced ability to think keeping them confused all day long.

Accordingly, factors that may affect mental health are:

  • Abuse: This may be physical, sexual, oral or psychological.
  • Physical indisposition: This includes diseases, injuries or other physical disabilities.
  • Social connections: Includes any separation, divorce, family loss etc.
  • Difficult characters: people who exhibit irrelevant behaviour, extreme lying, violence, inappropriate actions.

Have you ever heard about the terminology D.O.S.E?

If not, then this might surprise you as holding a healthy mind starts right here. D.O.S.E exists for Dopamine, Oxytocin, Serotonin and Endorphins. Dopamine among the four is the fundamental chemical that emanate positive emotions in the body. Let’s understand how these chemicals function:

Dopamine: This is something that we can consider as ‘The Happiness Drug’. This motivates us towards our goal that we aspire to accomplish in our existences. Without Dopamine one never would have had the enthusiasm to achieve what they strive for, and the essential happiness We may also refer it to the slight joy that we feel in out day to day life.

How to retain a Healthy Mind?

Now as we know that a healthy mind prepares a happy mind, we also need to comprehend how to do so. A healthy mind is what helps us throughout our entire being therefore the following could be done for our mental health:

  • Being active: Exercising will support the physical as well as mental health.
  • Talk to yourself: Make time and efforts into bridging relations with yourself, keep telling yourself that You are worth enough.
  • Keep learning: Keeping the mind healthy; learning new skills, languages, sports, information etc. has proved constructive.
  • Quit the addiction: Healthy mind is related to a healthy body, any alcoholic or drug addiction would impede the situation.

An unhealthy mind is considered the worst place to be. This state of mind would make you either win or vanish. Make some time for your mind. Care for it and it would take care of you.
